At some point during his school years, James took a photo of Hogwarts Castle at sunset and gave it to Remus

At the age of sixteen James' parents allowed Sirius to move in with them so he could escape his family

* James became friends with Dorcas Meadows when they were in their fourth year during a game of seven minuets in heaven

* James had wanted to befriend Dorcas for a while, mostly because she was Remus’ step sister and James thought they would get on most

Everyone was his friend but he was not everyone's friend. There was only a few people who James truly cared about

He secretly dated Regulus Black during his fifth year and Regulus' fourth. The only people who knew was Sirius, Alice and Pandora Ollivander. James and Regulus had an agreement that James could tell Sirius if Regulus could tell Pandora. Alice found out about them after walking in on them kissing

Regulus started ignoring James after Sirius ran away because he was mad at James for letting Sirius stay with him. James attempted to get Regulus to talk to him but gave up completely when rumors that Regulus had joined the Death Eaters started going around the school

He and Lily got together during the summer before their seventh year

When James and Lily got married they went all out. They had a wedding weekend in the country side and has a massive reception that everyone they knew was invited to

Feelings of helplessness are something that is so absolutely soul-crushing ... We see several characters speak of it, but in the end they are all able to mobilize in some way to deal with it (Krillin was overwhelmed how everyone was dying when Vegeta showed up; he later went to Namek about it, although he never recovered his shattered sense of competence.) (Everybody was feeling helpless during the Cell shit, and I'm specificlaly thinking about when Tenshinhan decided that dying in battle was better than doing nothing, and he went to face Cell and was able to stave him off for a bit using his Kikoho technique) (....Also thinking about how in the original dragon ball, he was forced immobile by some sort of drug Roshi gave him so that he couldn't risk his life interfering when Roshi faced off with Piccolo Daimao.. and how. Absolutely horrifying. That must have been for him. To not be able to move when all of him was needing to. And how he immediately became committed to Doing Something About Piccolo Daimao as soon as he could mobilize.)

I've definitely been on record as saying that Chichi acts the way she does largely because of how helpless she feels. She is subjected to the same helplessness as everyone else, only she never has any hope of doing anything about it. She just has to yell louder and hope that someone will listen this time.

Tell me everything abt dusk shadows? Please? Theyre so so pretty and cool and edgy and i love them already and i know nothing abt thrm

ive waited my whole life to hear these words... this is going to be very long.

theyre my little skrunkle next gen oc i made when i was like 9 and have kept alive since then, their story has changed around throughout the years but i did make it when i was 9 so its not the best literature, keep that in mind.

basically theyre the mane character of my next-gen-mixed-with-au hootverse that all my silly little redesigns come from, some story elements are changed and this is important because Sombra takes the place of Chrysalis in season 9 because she accepted Starlight's friendship after she freed the hive.

so when the trio gets unfrozen to be reformed Twilight takes on reforming Sombra and of course it goes like this

because its a next gen and they get in a genuine relationship and Sombra works on himself and gets better, + they have kids but then he slips up one day and accidentally grows evil crystals or something by accident and the kingdom's ponies don't trust him and some even start saying shit like "what if their kids turn out evil like him >:((((" "i cant believe twilight loves tis guy what if SHES evil too?!?!?" and it was disrupting harmony and Twilights like "damn this is wild!!!!! i am going to start twilighting 24/7". so to 'keep her safe' in his eyes, while shes pregant with Dusk, Sombra acts like hes evil again and runs away and then when Dusk is born Twilight has to give them to up for adoption movie style on the doorstep in the rain because its the edgy 2010 oc backstory + ponies were threatening the children because of Sombra and all that (they couldnt give them to one of the mane 6 because it would be too risky for someone to realize it was her child)

Dusk goes to friendship camp one year as a filly and meets their first real friend, Firefly. They keep in contact until their teenage years when Firefly becomes a rockstar and stops talking to Dusk because of the pressure of keeping up a "popular" image. Dusk starts spending all of their time with their other friend Frost Lily, but their declining mental state causes them to see one of those waking nightmares (the ones Sombra trapped the castle with. they inherited it and like. cast it on themself by mistake somehow) and they see a vision of Frost Lily getting really sick and dying. They don't know this was just a nightmare their magic made them see, so they leave town, thinking there's nothing left for them there now. Their wandering leads them to Canterlot, where Twilight sees and recognizes them, and summons them to the castle, where she explains Dusk is her child and everything that happened and why she had to give them away, expecting them to be all happy huggy 'i love you mom'ing!!! But they were actually just really upset and angry at Twilight for not even trying and she kept and raised their other child, ect.

Twilight gets worried about Dusk's mental state which leads to her worrying about Dusk going down the 'same dark path' as Sombra, and she sends them to their own small town just like Celestia did for her when she was young so they can discover joy and friendship magic

this is getting SO long but they become a part of their own mane 6 of sorts that includes firefly, a griffin named boe, a dragon named Carbon, an axolotl named snorkel and a 'baby' ursa minor that goes by ursus once they get there. on the way they meet a suspicious trio of "ponies" that may or may not be demons summoned by Sombra to keep an eye on his child and report back to him on how theyre doing.

Eventually Dusk also turns into an evil alicorn thing but y'know their friends fix that with the power of friendship™  and then they defeat the demons too

you know whats funny to me? people think that el is the main protagonist of stranger things bc shes the one with powers and that can stop the monsters from the upside down.

but for me is like not that at all. for me the real protagonis always was will byers. everything started bc of him. sure, el opened the portals two times, but thats all that she did. she opened the portals for the monsters (and that wasnt her fault at all.) but everything else that happened it was a consequence of will’s disappearance. el wouldnt have meet the party if it them went out looking for will. she would be probably capture eventually and went back to the lab.

the main clue for me its that how the fuck a twelve years old kid escaped and survived for a week on that toxic environment, and everyone else was killed right after they got there? 

for me, will always had powers but they manifested when he was in the upside down. i mean how did he communicated with joyce if the UD was stuck in time on the exact day that he went missing? the thing with the lights if i remember correctly was one or two days after he went to the UD. and why didnt the demogorgon attack and killed him right after they went to the UD? why it saw him biking and went for him when he wasnt even bleeding?

and then in season 2 when will was possessed by the mindflayer he said that the mindflayer didnt want him, but everyone else. i doesnt make sense if u want to use someone someone to get to others and let only him alive. most villans use and then get rid of the person they use. 

for me will byers was specifically targeted from the beginning bc he always had powers and for some reason the mindflayer wants him. its like what dustin said about vecna and the mindflayer.

vecna its the 5 star general and the mindflayer its the boss.

el is the 5 star general all this time and will is the real boss.

     so much to unpack... SO MANY KIND WORDS....... crumples and sobs, i truly cannot tell you where the knack for action-oriented threads came from, but i just? can't get enough of them? specifically in the sonic rpc too! these characters have so many cool abilities and it's a crime most foul not to use them to their utmost capacity. i mean, we're virtually a bunch of little 3 foot dragon ball characters walking around!! it's so cool!!

     writing sonic running and the language to describe his speed. tails' gadgets and their functionalities. knuckles' herculean strength and the way he can command earth and fire in some ways due to his connection to chaos energy as a whole. i absolutely ADORED the fire imagery with blaze, and i didnt get to, but i was gonna have some WIIIILD times describing surge in a fight for my multimuse. the volatile nature of her everything would make for some beautiful and chaotic imagery. im honestly getting excited just thinking about it sdfghygtfcd.

     thank you dearly, toby... i've always strived for my writing to be simple and understandable for anyone observing, yet in-depth and developed for those that wanna get in the thick of it with me. i am extremely touched...

eeeeeeeeeyyyyyy its the “not quite reverse”-reverse AU AhHha, took me a bit bc i got excited about it again when i was redoing the older sketches and promptly decided to doodle them both full body-- 

i dropped some sketches of scenes and stuff i had in mind bc i didnt want to make this post super long but ill post them next time bc i thinkkk ill pick the AU up again and post more of it AJKCS

some stuff to the AU under cut

basically, childe is the archon of fontaine; the hydro archon and god of justice. hes pretty much doing the whole thing the tsaritsa is planning/doing in canon (meaning he really is the “young lord” as mentioned before, ordering his harbingers around lmfao)

guizhong is alive and the current geo archon, with a certain adeptus as her protector who goes by the name “zhongli”. tho what no one knows is that shes actually not liyues archon; its zhongli. zhongli is still the brute menace he was back then in canon and theyre both protecting/watching over liyue together with the power of friendship(tm) ; really her being “the brains to his brawn” and all. since theyre always together, and guizhong is just this kind hearted, wise goddess, people mistook her as the leader, the archon. since then they just went with it (its a good cover for zhongli ig to keep his true identity hidden and everyone thinking of her as the archon) venti is pretty much the only one knowing about zhonglis true identity since they are both the last ones of the original seven and he witnessed him in the archon war--

so, theres no contract with childe like in canon with the tsaritsa, and zhongli is not very amused once he hears that venti was robbed of his gnosis bc the hydro archon wants to get his hands on them. so he and guizhong get ready for a confrontation with the archons harbingers or even the archon himself until the day finally comes

i dont wanna make this post longer and longer but theres lots of more stuff and i just wanna say, no matter if AU or canon, i guess childe will always end up getting tricked by zhongli LMFALJSBCKJ bc. yea. he will get tricked by zhongli again since hes not aware the geo archon hes searching is actually “guizhongs pet dragon”, as he calls him

almost a year later: my completed xiao build.

hello hello !! its your friendly neighbourhood Professional Xiao Main ™ <3 i just felt like sharing this because it's taken me almost a year of farming and whatnot to somewhat 'complete' my xiao to a point where i'm incredibly proud ;; and i feel like sharing it !!

so without further ado, here is my build, dedicated to my baby boy<3

lil reminder: this is just how i've built my xiao! there is no right or wrong way really to go about it, i just wanted to show how i have him set up!

so my xiao has been through..... a lot. i had him on dragons bane for 2 months after i first got him, i didnt know how to use artifacts, he probably didn't even touch a viridescent venerer artifact until at least march or april (1-2 months after i got him LMAO)

but, after a tutorial by dango and watching genshin streamers, i began my journey to build THE perfect xiao for my playstyle. his crit ratio has been to hell and back but now i can safely say:

im hella proud of where he's at now. although i have yet to rlly test him with an anemo dmg goblet (mhy please actually give me an anemo dmg goblet i haven't had one in months that even had crit on it im begging you) this gets him to do a sizeable amount of dmg!

weapon

so i've had xiao on a... range of weapons, to say the least. but as a dolphin when it comes to spending, i haven't been able to offer him more than a deathmatch when it came to a weapon until i was blessed with something that sucked up all my RNG:

yeah, so i stole the homa from poor hu tao and shoved it to xiao, since i don't have the primordial jade wing. while the passive may not be really synergized with xiao's kit (namely the below 50% hp part) this weapon has nearly doubled the dmg he used to do with just the deathmatch and my artifacts.

man, when i first used xiao, he was forced to stay on a 4 pc vv and that was..... bad. not good JAHFLS so i think the spc glad 2pc vv has been a much better fit !!! i've been hella lucky with a few of these pieces, but these are really my only best <3 they all go to him HJDFKHSLD

dmg examples

so if ya know me.... i'm a sucker for big boy dmg numbers. i love em. i love messing w builds JUST to get high numbers, i love getting high dmg.

one thing i've grown to love about xiao is that (at least for me) he doesn't hit 400k + in one sitting like other charas can, but his dmg is high, but also consistent. with this build alone w no buffs he can hit 48-60k plunges while in burst, with 28-32k dashes (when he crits)

i made a lil showcase while fighting the perpetual mechanical whatever the fuc in case anyone wants to see him do what he does best!!

Virgil throws a rock at Logan for not waking him up like he promised he would. Logan promises not to trick him like that again. This does not last.

Virgil eats another Sorbillis fruit. The other three try to tell him not to, but he’s not having that.

Virgil and Roman spar, so Roman can learn to use his sword~! They continue to flirt throughout, but Roman does learn a few things. He still needs more training, though.

They take a break, and just then, Amaryllis calls!

She and Roman share a plethora of “I love you”s, and Amy warns Ro to look out for Vampires before cutting off the call. 

Roman is confused, but so elated his True Form slips out! Logan and Patton get a good look at him, and then they pack everything up to start on the road again.

Virgil reveals that he didnt know it had been 2 years since he last saw Remus and Dee (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8)

While in the back of the wagon, Logan gives Virgil and Patton a lesson on how Magic works, and what Wild Magic Surges are!

After the lesson, Logan casts Find Familiar to summon his mother, Andromeda, in her corvid form!

Virgil, copying him, uses the same spell to re-summon Charlotte!

You all warn Logan, Patton, and Charlotte that Virgil is getting to shut down levels of cold, so they cuddle up to him to help keep him warm.

Virgil’s Cool Guy Persona™ is in danger, so he protests. Logan is not having that, so -- using his elven True Name -- he commands Virgil to sleep. See I told you

Virgil has two true names

You are all worried Virgil will be furious, but Charlotte is sure he won’t be.

Charlotte explains why Virgil has been refusing to sleep! 

And, you see a vision about the day Virgil is dreaming about.

While Virgil is asleep, you note that his teeth are looking a little grey

Virgil is asleep for about an hour. He wakes up, and a whisper repeats the command for him to go back to sleep, so he does.

You discover Logan may not be entirely honest when he says he doesn’t like to sing.

You get an update about how the boys feel about each other

You try several times to give Roman a solution for talking to his mother (sign language, pen and paper, morse code, etc) before you realize he’s really just saying no because he doesnt want to talk to Sune.

Which, of course, might have something to do with his backstory

Logan and Patton elaborate on those Pirates from the beginning of the game

You learn about some more weaknesses they have

You find out about Jisiri the White Dragon, who is currently being sent by Marissa to....attack the party

She was raised with Virgil by Marissa (after Virgil went under Marissa’s custody when he was 80, and Jisiri was already fairly old herself)

Jisiri would eat the people who asked Marissa for Virgil’s hand

Using a necklace Marissa put on her, that is an artifact, you saved the game!

Jisiri seems to respect Virgil. 

Virgil confirms that most of the scars on his back are from her, but that he also left a few scars on Jisiri, so he doesn’t feel too back about it. Marissa used to make them fight, as training.

You ask Janus if you can see what really happened the night Remus got his scar.

With the new information, you find out it was Marissa disguised as Sune that scarred Remus, not Sune herself!

“What are you doing Llaivian?“ The dragon didnt seem to want to say anything, or prehaps wasn’t able to, He wasn’t sure.

He watched them reach out on camera. a moment later a stange feeling comes on almost like a scratching on the side of his face

Oh yeah him being a bird totally helps lol. So does the accent.

But I also do relate very strongly to feeling trapped and having to pretend to be someone you're not for the sake of keeping up appearances (my mom in particular has always been obsessed with what other people think. I was in middle school having a very rough/self-destructive time with lots of bullying and she refused to let me go to therapy because she 'didnt wanna be the parent of the crazy kid'. Not to mention she's one of those 'its fine if other people are gay but not my kid' type of homophobes and also constantly calling me various slurs for being autistic while also refusing to acknowledge that I'm autistic because she 'doesn't want people thinking there's something wrong with me', etc) and constant verbal abuse/belittling (my mom would constantly complain about me and mock all my secrets/things going on with me to her friends. Either I would overhear or the friend's kids would tell me).

Also I just have a special love for pathetic dorky older men that are Doing Their Best™

1. Fenris (Dragon Age)

He’s probably the one I like most in canon, like without me having to add anything through headcanons and fic. Like for once the writers did a good enough job without fandom having to Fix It. Fenris is the pre-made Pillsbury cookie dough of boys - minimal preparation required, still delicious.

2. Suzuya Juuzou (Tokyo Ghoul)

My child… my son… precious being light of my life….. he’s the only Tokyo Ghoul character that I stan unconditionally because you know what? u kno what. he’s just very fucking good is all. i support him. i support him being loved by his squad. i support him kissing hanbee. Juuzou is also exceptional in canon and I can’t really complain about him in any way.

3. Orsino (Dragon Age)

fuckgign,.. listen, i can explain, i know he’s old, but hes still cute and im fundamentally flawed as a human being… also my Thing is totally characters that didn’t get enough development in canon, and bioware did him dirty with that  ending. like it just seemed so inconsistent with everything he’d done until then. like even if it was blood magic and he didnt turn into the harvester and try to kill everyone, like i’d still be mad but i’d allow it?? anyway i love finding any kind of Good Content of him bc im here in the obscure character hell corner... writing my fics... gotta do all the work my damn self around here...

4. Adolf Reinhardt (Terra Formars)

he’s fjust fucking sad hes so fuckgin sad and pretty and it makes me Feel a lot, he;s buff and sad and part eel, what more could you ask for… also scars are Very Good… on the downside, he dies early enough that we don’t get a Ton of content with him but also that leaves a lot of room for me to headcanon whatever i want so… i write a good amount of shit for him but would never publish it bc im too embarrassed. which im aware is how the Circle of No Content for obscure characters perpetuates but oh well

5. Furuta Nimura (Tokyo Ghoul)

when The Fruit first showed up i was like “oh i cant wait until we get his Tokyo Ghoul Redemption Arc™” and then he only got worse and i was like aight the alternative is him being the most irredeemable character in the series and ive been in this trash fire too long to back out now so looks like i gotta love him until the end uh oh

but hes a very good villain and a very good narrative device and also very pretty so i can live with that

6. Javik (Mass Effect)

arguably the most awful member of the ME3 team but his voice is uhh sexy also im a monster fucker so. i really like the idea of him catching feelings for shep after seeing them all dirty and bloody and gross after battle, like “oh shit this human is really good at killing things, thats... kinda hot oops”. we all know where the protheans’ priorities lie lmao... i also like the idea of javik identifying more or less as nonbinary because WHY would someone from a civilization on another planet 50,000 years ago consider themselves man or woman? just saying. also i wish bioware made more of a point of the current alien races having different gender constructs but we all know we cant trust bioware with anything.

7. Kikuhiko/Yakumo (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu)

god its another old guy im so sorry. but he gets a gif instead of a picture because i found an exceptionally cute gif. god SGRS is such a beautiful series and i love it, please check it out everyone

8. Garrus (Mass Effect)

every time i think about garrus i wanna cry bc hes such a good friend to shepard, hes just so good you guys hes so loyal and i love him so much... like i literally dont want to think too hard about this one because The Power Of Friendship and Found Family gets me every time

animals are a weird topic for arcetri. as is with most children she enjoyed animals and would give them scraps if possible although cyrion didnt want her to hang around them too much lest she get hurt or pick up some kind of disease. as she got older she never really paid much attention to the strays that wandered around the alienage and had a neutral opinion on them. she gave them scraps every now and then but she saved all of her food for her family and only her family.  during the wedding as she was trying to break out from that hellhole a mabari scratched her awfully bad on her shoulder that turned into a scar. you can see the three claw marks in these two drawings but ive circled it just in case: 

but anyway after all of that business she wasnt much of a fan and not to mention travelling with duncan and hearing strange sounds emit from a forest 24/7 that she had never really heard before in her entire life made an already paranoid elf even more paranoid. although arcetri did save the mabari and couldnt help but falling heads over heels for this dog (which i named rusty in honor of my own dog whom i love). during the blight she appreciated the beauty of nature and what lives in it after travelling around ferelden and gained a fondness for birds in particular. after the blight she took in tons of stray animals and when anders came around she took in stray cats and let them wander around the palace to kill mice and what-not. in a modern au her favorite animal would be a cedar waxwing 

but if we’re talking dragon age Lore(TM) then her favorite animal would be either a nug or a mabari. she owns a nug named barkspawn and tons of mabaris. none of them are named barkspawn, but there’s two named alistair sr. and alistair jr. 

tl;dr didn’t like animals but now she loves them

okay! so! im prolly going to keep this short cuz its late and also its been a few years but essentially

bride of discord is a shipfic written by disneyfanatic23 on fimfic that ships fluttershy, element of kindness, and discord, immortal incarnation of chaos.

the fiction begins with him abducting her, then he has second thoughts and lets her leave but only after being a douche for a while, also they develop feelings for each other and i do remember it being painfully Straight™. i think the author was going for a beauty n beast vibe. in my opinion he failed

daughter of discord is the thrilling sequel in which the child of the two last one is friends with the children of the other mane 6, which are all straight apparently, so they're all matched kind of randomly i guess? with people they don't necessarily know/have good chemistry with? anyways the dragon child ends up with the adult farmer gal, and yes, they had a child too, if you want to complain abt the SUSPICIOUS age gap i wont stop you. (this is neither the first nor the last the author would pull this shit. applespike is their crackship, mainly because they bonded platonically in one (1) episode ig.)

so anyways the half horse half chaos daughter romances the prince of changelings, which are a bunch of heartless monsters, expect they literally have no hearts because apparently their queen cant handle rejection and removed everyones heart.

but don't worry! the prince has a heart, and heart allows him to love, so he can love. clearly the other changelings who can't love are broken. (please note that since they're not devoid of emotion, that hints that only romantic love is missing. another scene when they get their hearts back, with the most forced straight background romance i have ever read, consolidates this point.) so not being able to love makes you broken, kids!

anyways discord snaps his fingers and every changeling gets a heart. he could have done it a few thousand years ago but he didnt because reasons. stfu. also his ex bf, the queen, that used to love him, dies. ig she was getting in the way i don't remember

and then the changeling prince and the chaos daughter get married at some point, but they fight and- look idk it's ooc and poorly written, even as a kid this part stuck out like a sore thumb to me

also chaos daughter's best friend that is not her changeling husbando is a lesbian, which is only mentionned when someone has to give an opinion on homosexuality

the only good thing i remember from this mess is changeling princess trixie, because i love changelings, trixie, and changelings and trixies that have an actually fairly decent subplot whose writing is not reprocessed bird poop

hiya!! after following you for a while and seein dragon age a lot i really want to start playing the games but i had a question! should i start with origins and then go to 2 and then inquisition or are they all seperate? inquisition looks really cool and that's the game i see the most in gifsets and whatnot but i didnt know if i should do the other two games first!

you should absolutely go in order (origins, 2, then inquisition)!! mostly because i think that origins is the best da game and it’s the first one of the series and i love it so much. the characters, the writing, the combat, everything just falls perfectly into that little 2009 game for me tbh. 

also story wise you should play them in order so you know what the heck is goin on (there’s many bits in the dragon age games that only show up in certain games or get mentioned in the next game and things can get complex and confusing if you arent sure who is who and what happened, playing them is the easiest way to get the information stored in ya brain)

i think there’s more gifsets of inquisition because it’s the latest one and it has those High Definition Graphics™ but im a firm believer in playing dragon age in order
