Do you have a favorite gemstone? Or if favorite is too hard, one that comes to mind first that you love?
I don't know if I have a favorite to be honest. The first that came to mind is rose quartz, because when I was around 16 and getting more into astrology, a site told me it was my birth stone. (Now I know birthstones are bogus and just a way to sell you more gems, but still, rose quartz stuck with me).
And look! It's in your name now. Plus, it's pink, so it's you.

altars for titans and protogenoi
This post more than any of the others is going to be mostly upg or spg. Hardly anyone in antiquity spent a lot of effort worshipping most of these deities, especially the protogenoi, so resources are limited. If you have suggestions or personal addendums, feel free to leave them in the comments. I made a lot of decisions based on what the herbs/crystals are usually associated with: for example, black tourmaline is associated with Nyx (the night) therefore Chaos (the embodiment of the primordial soup and basically the universe) has black tourmaline too.
Also, all the deities on this list can be honored with libation of wine, milk, honey, and oil; offerings of meat or desserts; and burning frankincense/myrrh.
Disclaimer: this is not all of the protogenoi or titans that exist, these are just the most recognizable ones that have the most lore attached. I used theoi.com to research all of these deities.

ok so my lovely mutual @icarrymany dared me to post proof of my rock/min collection so this is his fault >:)
im not gonna go into depth on all of the samples bc 1. i dont remember the details on all of them lol and 2. it would take. forever
so instead ill talk a little abt one or two of them per section :3
first up: tumbled minerals!
i have a bunch more of these but after becoming a geology student they kind of piss me off bc raw minerals often look way cooler and tumbling removes the crystal habit (and also makes them harder for me to identify hgjhfd)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first image, from left clockwise: (possibly) blue lace agate, chrysocolla. labradorite, snowflake obsidian, moss agate, brown agate, and two samples of tigers eye
2nd image: up close picture of one of the tigers eye crystals, showing its lighter banding
3rd image: up close picture of the labradorite from a different angle, showing its pale green luster
my absolute favorite mineral ever is labradorite also!! i think its luster is gorgeous and ive heard it represents transformation and change, and i first got this sample back when i had just come out as trans :)
i dont really have a lot to say abt these unfortunately lol
anyway. next is fossils!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st image, clockwise from bottom left: trilobite cast fossil, tumbled stromatolite, dinosaur bone (? got this one at a mineral stall and the dude said it was a dino bone, didnt think to ask details lol), plant fossil, coral fossil, assorted fossil molds (mold as in taking the shape of something, not spores) in wackestone, mosasaurus tooth, crocodile (?) tooth, 2 ammonites, a turtle scute, a crinoid stem, and a (broken) orthoceras
2nd image: up close pic of the assorted fossil molds, which include horn corals (circular with ridges toward center, hole in middle), crinoid stems (cylindrical with ridges perpendicular to long sides), and shells
3rd image: up close pic of larger ammonite, with iridescent luster due to aragonite (a polymorph of calcite) replacing the calcite of the shell
4th image: up close pic of dubious tooth. i found this on a field trip about a year ago while looking for shark teeth. this is not a shark tooth. idk what it is. i think it might be from a crocodile but i havent been able to fully identify it lol
now.... raw minerals!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st image, clockwise from left: moss agate, talc, serpentinite (this one is a metamorphic rock but i accidentally put it with the minerals and dont want to retake the pics. other geologists you may come kill me), two calcite samples, and a tiny topaz @ramones2 gave me
2nd pic: close up on the topaz crystal, which is light orange (if u leave these in the sun they get bleached and lose their color </3)
3rd pic: close up on one of the calcites. its crystals are a bit more squared and close-knit than the next calcite, and appear more white in color. there are also some small purple fluorite crystals mixed in. i traded with a classmate for this one lol
4th pic: close up on the other calcite. this ones crystals are more rounded and transparent.
5th pic: close up on the serpentinite. serpentinite is metamorphosed from peridotite, which makes up the earth's mantle (if youve ever heard that the mantle is actually green, that is true!! the green comes from olivine mostly, but also some pyroxenes). when peridotite is lifted up to the surface and comes into contact with water, olivine gets very unhappy and serpentinizes, or hydrothermally metamorphoses (water + some heat + olivine = cool as fuck snakeskin rock)
6th pic: another close up on the serpentinite, this time wet. you can see the serpent-like pattern a bit better.
finally: rocks :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st image, clockwise from bottom left: amphibolite, sedimentary rock with calcite vein (i dont remember what this one is lmao), malachite-bornite ore, iron-stained sandstone(?) with chalcedony/agate, phyllite, sandstone trace fossil of a burrow, and meteoric rock possibly with iron
2nd pic: close up on the ore, showing the malachite vein. it's almost powdery, with a gradient of light blue on the edges to teal in the center
3rd pic: another close up on the ore, showing the bornite vein. it's iridescent like an oil slick, with the main color being purple. this one is often called peacock ore for its colors :)
4th pic: . im gonna be honest i have no fucking clue bro. i think the mineral in it is agate/chalcedony (the lighter gray/white areas) and the red parts are an iron-stained sedimentary rock, but i forget if its siltstone or sandstone or smth else. idk. it looks cool.
bonus: extra pic of my rocks for further proof of collection
Tumblr media
hope u enjoyed o7

(From research but also from my own workings with him. This isn’t meant to be strictly historical this is more for pagans wanting to work with him. There will be a lot of UPG or SPG)
Tumblr media
Anubis/Anpu/Inpu/Inpw (and some other spellings depending on where you look) :
-He is the jackal headed Egyptian god of mummification, funerary rites and a fierce protector of tombs and places where people are buried.
- a lot of stories have him as either the son of Nephthys and Set or the son of Nephthys and Osiris. I personally go by the mythology where he is the son of Osiris, then taken in by Aset and raised as an adopted son after the death of Osiris. He is fiercely loyal to his adopted mother and his father. As well as supportive of his half brother Horus (Heru-sa-Aset)
Tumblr media
What working with him is like
-He is a sort of Psychopomp deity for dead souls. Also in my experience can help bring you into meditations with other spirits safety (he’s guided me to a few of the other deities I work with now)
- He is a fierce protector. Big guard dog energy. Doesn’t usually have a huge temper until something threatens him or a follower of his.
-Most of the time he’s a very calm and patient deity. He will give space when you need it, and also be around when you need him too. He tends to put in the effort that you do. But if you can’t put in much effort he’s patient (just quieter maybe if you’ve backed away from him first)
- He is usually the first one to jump in to help when I’m going through something emotionally rough. It could be because he is my patron but I do feel like he is the type of deity to want to be there for, and comfort his followers/devotees.
Tumblr media
Offerings for Anubis
(These are the personal ones I use because they work for my own practice and lifestyle- feel free to share any of your own!)
Crystals
- tigers eye
- obsidian
- onyx
- jet
- lapis lazuli
- red/brown goldstone
- labradorite
- Dalmatian jasper
Incense
- frankincense
- Egyptian musk scents
- Sandlewood
- Myrrh
- Tobacco
Food offerings
- Dark chocolate
- dark bread
- red wine
- water
Other physical offerings/associations
- dog statues/imagery
- ankhs
- wooden things/wood carvings
- jewelry with gold on it
- keys
- black candles
- gold candles
- brown candles
- the death tarot card
- the hanged man tarot card
- the emperor tarot card
Devotional offerings
- self care
- taking care of your own dog/a dog
- volunteer at dog shelters
- donate to animal shelters/rescues
- learn about him
- learn about the history of the pyramids and mummification
- draw him
- write poetry for him
- play music/dance/sing for him
Tumblr media
How to know if he’s reaching out to you?
Best way to know is to confirm by tarot or your clairsenses if you have any. Or candle flame reading/other forms of divination.
If you’re looking for signs he’s popping up (this is rather morbid but so it goes with the god of mummification and decay) he tends to send roadkill to me. If you see a lot of extra roadkill on a drive to work/a regular route that isn’t usually there. That could be a sign. (I like to ask him to help guide their souls somewhere nice whenever I see roadkill)
Tumblr media
I think he’s an excellent deity for beginners and if you feel called to him I’d say go for it! I started with a simple candle dedicated to him and went from there!

Crystal Associations with Sköll and Hati
Tumblr media
I want to preface this with a disclaimer that all of these are my personal opinions based off mythology, what they stand for, and their appearance. I haven't been able to find a single source over herbs and crystals that associate with Sköll and Hati, so below are my own ideas, with explanations why.
~These may also serve as altar ideas~
Sköll, the Great Wolf who chases the Sun:
Colors: Black, Orange, Red, Dark Grey
Sunstone
Perhaps for obvious reason, the name itself having a direct tie to his legacy, but I find the strength of the stone also matches the energy from him.
Black Moonstone
Despite being 'Moon' stone, the darkened colors mixed with reds and oranges give me a bigger reminder of him than his brother, the Moon Chaser.
Obsidian
Like his Father, I associate a lot of darker stones with Sköll, but Obsidian has a special tie with him I feel, a crystal crafted from Lava, a strong heat that reminds me of the Sun's strength.
Hematite
A stone used around strength, protection, and determination; I feel it matches many of the traits Sköll holds, and lines with the determination he has to eventually capture the Sun.
Tektite
An ancient stone coming from a meteorite collision with Earth, it's strong energy mixed with outerworldly orgin leads a belief it has ties with Sköll, though I also feel it matches Hati's energy as well.
Tiger's Eye
Also associated with strength, the bright gold-ish bands remind me of the Sun's rays, and it's a fairly afforable crystal.
Smokey Quartz
Strong energy, and a darker form of Clear Quartz, to match his twin, Hati.
Gold and Pyrite
The bright shines and colors remind me of the sun, and Pyrite is a more easily-afforable version. :)
Garnet
In full truth, this stone simply reminds me of the deep red colors of Sköll's eyes, but it's one I would still use.
Shungite
The grounding energy of this matte black stone holds a calming presence that I associate with many of the Great Wolves of Norse Mythology.
The stones below are associated with the Sun as a general, and may also be offered.
Citrine
Orange/Yellow/Lemon Calcite
Orange Selenite
Bumblebee Jasper
Carnelian
Amber
Ruby
Crystals I Associated with Both:
Bloodstone
Also a crystal I have on Fenrir's altar, Bloodstone seems to be a crystal that works in the entire family.
Hati, the one who chases the Moon:
Colors: Blue, White, Grey.
Sodalite
Intelligence and Focus, Sodalite ties into the determination of Hati, that will eventually end in the success of catching the Moon.
Blue Apatite
Matching the description of Howlite.
Howlite
Both of the above stones match the 'colors' I associate with Hati, White, Grey, and Blue.
Clear Quartz
Matching his brother with Smokey Quartz, the clear energy of the stone fits within the scope of the Moon and Hati.
Moonstone
Once again it would seem an obvious reason, the stone's name having a tie with his legacy.
Silver
Same as to Sköll with Gold, Silver is another precious metal that I associate with Hati and the Moon.
Caribbean Calcite
This one has an odd reasoning, but it's simply because the stone reminds me of the waves on a beach, and the moon's tie with tidal movement.
The stones below are associated with the Moon, and may also be offered.
Labradorite
Clear Calcite
Angelite
Peach Moonstone
In a short general, most of these stones I associate with the color, energy, and Mythology around the twins, however since I am unable to find a single resource around Crystals associated with them, these are just my opinions.

I am officially off hiatus from my shop and I added a bunch of new inventory (and some old favorites)!
Two amethyst amulets - these are super big, about the size of my palm!
Mystic Mermaid Bermuda Blue Swarovski Necklace - I also have two of these in stock, but when they’re gone, that’s it!
Raw amethyst nugget earrings
Blue Goldstone and triquetra earrings - probably one of my favorite earrings so far! The Blue Goldstone is gorgeous and sparkles like the night sky!
Crescent moon and obsidian earrings
Amethyst crystal wire tree - similar to my lapis lazuli tree, this has a shell “full moon”
And WISH BRACELETS! You guys, I LOVE these! They’re perfect stocking stuffers, birthday gifts, random presents for your friends, siblings, coworkers, and also as bridal party gifts! They’re not expensive at all (hello, only $5!) and created by yours truly with hemp and crystals! The Christmas/Holiday/Hanukkah/Birthday Wish Bracelets were made with Czech Glass. If you want a Crystal Wish bracelet, I have a bunch of different kinds in stock: Fluorite, Obsidian, Blue Goldstone, Opalite, Rose Quartz, Tiger’s Eye, Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite, Amethyst, Citrine, and Black Pearl. I made these when after the fire I realized I wouldn’t have a lot of stock for the holiday craft fair my sister and I put on every year. I was able to save a lot of my wire trees and make more jewelry, but I’m super excited about these bracelets.
Please head over to my shop on Etsy (EclecticCharmsUS.etsy.com) and support a small business this holiday season. Even if you don’t shop with me, please shop with a small business this year. I do have my trees on sale and running a few more sales too. I have lots of stock to add and I’m making more pendulums soon, so I’ve been quite busy for my shop reopening!
And as always, my tarot shop is open so if you would like a reading, please purchase one from my Etsy shop!

• ᑤᑗᖇSᙍ & ᕼᙍ᙭ ᙘᖇᙍᗅᖽᐸᓿᘉᘜ •
ᛉ . ꍏ ꃅꍟ꒒ᖘꎇꀎ꒒ ꃅꍏꈤꀸ . ᛉ
Just the thought of a curse for some is enough to send the mind on a terrible tangent. I'm here today to tell you not to fear, because I'm bringing you an arsenal of curse and hex breaking tips and tools.
• So what is a Curse? •
A curse is defined as a negative energy attack put upon someone or something normally to cause harm, misfortune or to take something away from another. Sometimes practitioners of malevolent magick can place this upon you, or even someone with strong feelings, normally negative. Sometimes we can trick ourselves into thinking we have been cursed, which can cause curse symptoms in itself. I wrote this guide for the cursed and uncursed, so those can be aware of what they are, what they do and how to escape its grasp.
• All about Curses •
☠ Comes in many forms ☠
Curses come in all shapes and sizes. The entropy or chaos curse, The binding, The lesson, and The special-purpose curse. It can even come from jealousy or admiration and manifest as the Evil Eye curse.
☠ Timing is everything ☠
Curses in general can become effective immediately or may be dormant for years, and some curses laid on families have been known to have plagued them for generations. The problem is often not solved unless you discover you have been cursed!
☠ Keep your lips sealed ☠
The more personal information someone knows about you, the easier it will be for them to inflict harm upon you. Such things are your appearance, your full name, and your magickal name. It's best to keep quiet about these things around people you aren't so trusting of, or when meshing with other practitioners. Either way, it's always good to be safe!
☠ Is your foe a pro? ☠
If you are cursed, then it is most likely low-end magick practiced by an amateur. Professionals are generally doing more important things with their magick abilities. However, amateurs can have a lot of raw power even when they lack technique, their curses can still be very harmful and dangerous.
☠ Most distastefully bad juju ☠
When life starts feeling like a real life horror movie, you have a special-purpose curse and they can cause a great deal of disaster and havoc in your life. The evil eye curse is considered a special-purpose curse. You can wear a protective talisman called a Nazar that sheilds from the curse being put upon you.
☠ Avoid phony bologna ☠
Be very skeptical if a psychic tells you in a random reading that you have been cursed if you have not suspected yourself that anything has been going on. Some may even try to charge you fees to remove it for you. Be very wary especially if the reading was offered to you for free or very very cheap. That technique is called the bait and switch. If you think you are really cursed, I recommend that you get a second opinion or find a trusted practitioner.
☠ Purify and protect ☠
There are a couple of ways to deal with a curse. The first is to become an initiate of magick and learn to protect yourself. Sometimes other banishing rituals or protective spell workings are used to overpower the curse, protective amulets and talismans can be worn, and blessed oils and sacred washes can be used to attempt to lift the curse’s effect. A major side effect in removing a curse is that when the curse is broken, its energy can recoil on the person who cast it, and if the person has not taken the adequate precautions, it could very easily backfire.
☠ Seek Heavenly Help ☠
Call upon your spirit guides and ancestors for help and guidance. Family members can protect you from psychic harm from the beyond, but you must ask for the help yourself. Speak to them and let them know how you feel about that you need guidance. I also highly recommend decorating common objects around you such as pencils and lighters with angelic symbols, seals and runes, such as Algiz the rune for protection. This will give you the reassurance and extra protection you need during a crisis.
☠ Are there real remedies? ☠
You can find remedies for specific curses online. You don’t need to practice before you do this, but it is very important to follow all the instructions carefully and conscientiously. Remember to carry some form of protection with you such as a crystal, amulet or talisman or a charm, so you don’t end up being a curse victim in the first place!
• The Curse Cures •
Lets explore the different methods we can use to cure a curse...
☠ Anti-Curse Bath ☠
This is by far the easiest way to cure a curse, and that's by taking a bath using salt, oil and hex breaking herbs. It will remove the negative energy attached to you from the curse.
You can use uncrossing herbs and oils of your choosing and steeping them a while before entering the bath. Be careful to choose ingredients that won't irritate the skin. This is best done under a Waning Moon, but timing isn't essential if you are in a desperate situation. Repeat this as much as you feel is needed. This will only work if it is you who is cursed, and it isn't caused by an external object and if so, you could risk being re-cursed.
☠ Gather ☠
Hexbreaking herbs
White Candle
Incense
Oils (Olive or Essential)
Salt
Moon Water, Gem Elixirs (Optional)
The Cursed Person
🛠 Process 🛠
☠Gather Ingredients
☠Visualize a magick circle around you
☠Light your candle and incense
☠Begin to fill the tub, use moon water, gem elixirs, and steep your herbs
☠Add the oil and salt, imagine your bath becoming pure
☠You can make a purifying scrub for your skin using salt and olive oil as a mixture
☠Step in to the tub and cleanse your body thoroughly, imagining the energetic ties being removed as you wash them off
☠Enjoy the bath until it's too cold. Blow out the candles and incense, uncast your circle and dry off
☠ A Vessel for the Vile ☠
Curses can sometimes be drawn out into a vessel of some sort. Back then, animals were sometimes used as vessels and sacrificed afterward. Eggs for one, have been popular vessels for uncrossing in Italian, as well as African American traditions.
An egg is normally used as a vessel because it can be broken open to examine the contents to determine the results. You will need a person to help you with this, preferably someone experienced in magick.
☠ Gather ☠
A White Bowl
A White Candle
Incense
An Egg
Moon Water (or any water)
The Cursed Person
A Helper
🛠 Process 🛠
☠Gather Ingredients
☠Visualize a magick circle around you
☠Light your candle and incense
☠Get the cursed person to lay down on their back
☠Begin to pass the egg over their body, starting at the head moving in smooth downward motions, being careful not to swish the yolk
☠Say a prayer of the persons choosing. After saying the prayer, crack the egg open into a bowl of water and examine what you see...
☠Close the Circle. Discard the bowls contents at the base of a tree or at crossroads far away from the home of the victim. This process may need to be repeated several times to be effective, to "trap" the curse
☠ Get rid of that thing ☠
If you have a cursed object and you can find it, you should take it and bury it far away from you! If you can't manage to find it, you might be able to locate it using astral projection to follow the link to locate the object. A pendulum might be useful for this as well.
Don't hang onto cursed things, no matter how pretty. They will only make you suffer endless misfortune. Here's what you can do...
☠Take it far out into the country
☠Throw it in a river so it washes away
☠Destroy it, and dispose of the parts in running water
☠Burn and flush the ashes down, set them free in the wind or bury them far away
☠Use Astral travel to get to the object, or its astral double, and destroy it there. You may need to cast a binding spell to find out who cursed you. Cut the cords and free yourself from their ties
💣Don't rehome it 💣
Cursed objects should be destroyed and discarded, don't give these objects to people you love, you may be passing your misfortune on to them!
🌼 Try your best 🌼
You may not be able to try every method that I have mentioned here, as everyone has different skills. Certain curses may take more effort to get rid of than others. Uncrossing requires copious amounts of time, energy and materials and it can also be dangerous. Be sure to exercise caution and use protection when doing this work.
• Curse & Hex Breaking Ingredients •
Heres a list of ingredients I put together that you can use to break curses and hexes.
💣 Watch out! 💣
Please do your research before using them anywhere on or in your body, or even burning! Your safety comes first!
☠ Angelica root ☠
☠ Eyebright ☠
☠ Agrimony ☠
☠ Batwing Herb ☠
☠ Frankinsense ☠
☠ Calamus Root ☠
☠ Hyssop ☠
☠ Myrrh ☠
☠ Alkanet root ☠
☠ Ginseng ☠
☠ Peppermint ☠
☠ Hydrangea ☠

hi! i'm trying to make a "witchcraft starter kit" for my sister as a x-mas gift b/c she always talks about wanting to be a witch. i want to gift her a good beginner book on witchcraft & some tools: a few herbs, candles (maybe 1 white, 1 black? i cant afford all colors), a crystal, a tarot deck. problem is, idk what other tools witches of all types might consider essential, & i haven't been able to find a good book that isn't wiccan or isn't full of cultural appropriation. any advice? thank you.
This is actually a really cute gift idea, and very personable as well. Tailor it to what she is in to and what you think she may be interested in casting. But here are a few ideas for you:
Books:
Books Tag - I am going to be a bit lazy and just leave that there because there are a bunch of good book references in that tag. As a pre-warning, all books should be read with a bit of skepticism because it is the authors view on magic and doesn’t work in all cases. Plus like you mentioned a lot of them (especially the older ones) are written from a Wiccan POV and/or are full of cultural appropriation.
Of Witchcraft & Whimsy - Written by @orriculum, this is a great beginner book, and really cute as well too.
Pastel Spells - Also written by Orriculum, I haven’t actually gotten a chance to buy this one yet but I adore Orriculum and her content so I am positive its a goodie.
The Sisters Grimmoire: Spells and Charms for Your Happily Ever After - You see this one floating around and its by @breelandwalker & is pretty wonderful as well. She also wrote Grovedaughter Witchery: Practical Spellcraft which is another good purchase.
Herbs:
This is tough because its really what you think she is going to be using the most. Here are some that are pretty useful for various things (and you can find in your spice cabinet).
Salt - this seems so basic but its a staple. You can go with table salt or fancy salt if you want to look fancy, or go to the craft store and buy a cute jar and pour it in and label it. But salt is something I would definitely include.
Rosemary
Lavender
Rose
Basil
Oregano
Thyme
Sage (Doesn’t have to be white sage)
Bay Leaves
Mint
Chamomile
Cinnamon
Ginger
Garlic
Alternatively, if you can have a small garden or if that is anything your sister may be in to eventually, you can get her seeds of some of the above as well and she can grow her own witchy garden.
Candles:
I think candles is a great idea. You can definitely go one white and one black, and remember they don’t need to be large either! You can get tea lights for really cheap (I get white tea lights at ikea for something like $5 for 100 tealights) OR you can get birthday candles in various colors at the dollar store which work beautifully as well. Plus those are great because they don’t burn long, so if you are waiting for a candle to burn down in a spell you aren’t waiting for like… 3 hours. I am just impatient and have shit to do though, lmao! Chime candles are also great if you need a slightly longer burn time, and they are also really affordable at places like amazon. Check sale sections in places like craft stores as well, as you can find candles there fairly often. At least mine typically has candles in the sale section from previous holidays.
Tarot Deck:
Base this on what type of art you think she would enjoy and connect with.
Crystals:
A few good starter crystals:
Clear Quartz
Tigers Eye
Selenite
Amethyst
Smokey Quartz
Rose Quartz
Quartz in general (you notice a trend)
Labradorite
Onyx
Jet
Obsidian
Copper (not a crystal I know, but I use copper a lot and this is the best section)
Agate
Citrine
Other Tools:
Oils (essential or even just a base oil like jojoba or olive) are sometimes useful.
JARS - you can get new fancy ones at the grocery store or start saving and cleaning out those sauce jars from shit like spaghetti or alcohol or jam or whatever. They are incredibly useful for so many things.
A Wand - I don’t personally use mine a whole lot but she might and it could be fun to include
A nice pen - Witches like to write shit down and a good pen goes a long way. I am a bit obsessed with pens.
A Journal - So she can write things down and start a grimoire or correspondence book or whatever she fancies!
Tea/Tea bags - If she likes tea, tea is good.
Incense - if you guys can burn it where you are at?
Hopefully that helps a bit! Tools aren’t needed by any means, but you can’t really wrap up nothing. Good luck to both of you, and send her the way of tumblr as well because tumblr can be an awesome resource!

My crystal, stones, metals, and minerals collection! Details under the cut! If you’d like me to take a closer photo of any piece, just let me know!
Some of these stones I’ll be giving away to a lucky follower :D
From the selenite log in the bottom left, clockwise:
Selenite Milky quartz The prettiest conch I’ve ever seen Moonstone Opalite Pink quartz x2 Rhodochrosite Red jasper Garnet Brown agate Red tiger’s eye Bronzite x2 No fucking clue but I suspect honeycomb calcite Tiger’s eye Goldstone No clue, maybe dragon agate Carnelian Shark tooth Amber Tourmalinated ametrine Citrine Pale green jade Emerald Amazonite Green quartz Moss agate Unakite Serpentine x2 Bloodstone Dark green quartz Malachite Green aventurine Dyed agate (green) Chrysocolla Larimar Aquamarine Blue lace agate Blue quartz Blue calcite Bicolor dyed agate (seafloor agate) Turqoise Carborundum Blue dyed agate Blue glass (I’ve had it since I was a kid, it belongs here, fight me) Sodalite Nobody fucking knows it’s a mystery but maybe blue green apatite Blue apatite Lapis lazuli x2 ( (cabochon and sphere) Sodalite (much darker) Kyanite Amethyst x2 (cabochon and point) No clue, but I suspect dyed pink agate Fluorite Black onyx Black tourmaline Black obsidian Snowflake obsidian Dalmatian jasper Labradorite Steel sphere Hematite Pyrite Smoky quartz x2 Clear quartz cluster Clear quartz x2 (cabochon and point)
Center (some metals/minerals), from the little shards clockwise (please pardon translation mistakes) :
Ferromanganese electrolyte Low ferrochrome Standard ferromanganese Ferrosilicon Standard ferrochrome This is a cool thingy that I’ll tell you about later, one hell of a use it has Magnetite
All the crystals and stones I have two of will be going into the 6k giveaway. If any of them gets specially requested, I’ll lovingly let it go in that giveaway (except for a couple that you cannot get here and that I paid at ridiculously high prices so I could get, such as larimar and selenite. Another couple have very important sentimental value, so I’m not letting go of them. However these aren’t worth a lot so I don’t think they’ll be requested (a lot of the agates, for instance... I actually hate agate, but these were gifts).
In total my collection is made of 72 different minerals. There are a few more that I don’t count because they’re just “regular” stones that are just really pretty, but hey sure keep their place by the rest. This also includes my African chromite sand which I absolutely love and adore.
My family members have their own mineral collections. Yeyé has the largest I’ve seen in my life and I’ve been to the geology museum! My sister collects geodes, my mom collects different kinds of quartz, and my dad collects different figures of obsidian he makes himself (both the carving AND the obsidian). Maybe I’ll show you theirs some day! Not Yeyé’s, tho. It’s huge and I think it’ll easily overflow all my tables combined D: Plus she has no idea what 90% of those stones are, she just picked them up in her trips.

The Circe Crystal Vision Necklaces are down to dwindling numbers. The Garnet has been sold out for sometime. • I thought about making a Rose Quartz and a Tiger’s Eye version, but these took years to finally complete because of how many that were in each little batch. I like to have the jewelry ready to ship before putting it on the website, with the exception of Skullbabies. Sometimes it literally takes me years to get them ready. I also do not work on jewelry during specific planetary alignments and moons, so this adds to the time. This is why my custom and skull babies take so much time. • The Circe Crystal Vision Necklaces remaining are in Moonstone, Smoky Quartz, Labradorite, Obsidian, Clear Quartz, and Amethyst. • I have decided these will be the last ones. It was a lot of work and I don’t think I can recreate them. Considering all variables that it took to create these I just doubt a recreate. So these are it! Also, check out the sets added this week! The Eye Cuff and Midi Ring Set is back! And the Nea Necklace and Earrings are now in the Set category. Happy Week’s End! • #Circe #CirceNecklace #CirceCrystalVisions #EPJ #CrystalVisions #Moonstone #SmokyQuartz #Labradorite #Obsidian #Quartz #Amethyst #Love #EvilPawnJewelry #AdornYourselfInMetal #AdornYourselfInQuartz Photo & Model: Nicole Spacek https://www.instagram.com/p/CFkMC94FD-f/?igshid=kjjueirkmp6j

i haven't really had a chance to make an updated post about buying rocks/minerals/crystals online (i made one like over a year ago but holy shit i know so much more now and my tastes are very different) but i do wanna stress something really important to anyone buying rocks online from etsy, ebay, mineral & crystal retailers, or individual seller's websites:
check the god damn dimensions of the piece you're buying before you buy it.
almost every seller i've ever purchased from has it listed right there in the listing -- some even post pictures of the piece in someone's hand or next to a ruler to give the buyer a good idea of what they're getting. and yet, without fail, there are negative reviews left on the shop's page from people bitching because it "looked bigger in the picture" and it drives me absolutely crazy because nothing these poor sellers do seems to be enough -- i swear some of these people only look at the first picture in the listing!
when you're buying minerals, rocks, crystals, etc online you need to understand that some of these sellers take professional mineral photographs for their listings -- they use high quality cameras and the pictures are very high res. this leads people to assume -- especially people who don't know vey much about mineralogy -- that these pieces are like, palm-sized or something. and they're not. and even if none of the photos indicate size the listing will almost always give the exact dimensions of any piece being sold, and people just don't... read it, i guess, or can't visualize how small it is.
a part of the problem is probably that people are introduced to collecting stones through the acquisition of quartz, agate, fluorite, and labradorite, etc -- common stones you can buy even fully polished and the size of your palm for under $20. with the popularity of metaphysical spirituality and crystal collecting being so relevant right now a lot of the people branching out and buying rarer and more unusual stones have no concept of the stone's growth patterns, rarity, or size.
so as a general rule -- if it's not one of the aforementioned common stones, take time to check the listing very carefully for the dimensions and actually get out a ruler to visualize the size of the piece you're purchasing or listing you're purchasing from. i personally have a ruler app i use to see how large or small a piece will be so i am never disappointed. at this point i always err on the side of expecting the rocks/minerals i buy to be smaller, and it works out nicely when they're bigger than i thought. the ruler app i use has cm/mm next to the inches -- 25 mm/2.5cm = 1 inch. it can be hard for americans to visualize or remember what sizes actually denote in mm/cm -- which is also a part of the problem -- so please start checking the listing for the dimensions and get an idea of the actual size of the piece before you buy it and end up disappointed
again, the price of quartz is not nearly universal for all stones. a high quality palm sized quartz point is typically around $100 -- a piece of tourmaline (minus schorl/black tourmaline) that size is at least $1,000.
stones like black tourmaline, fluorite, calcite, chrysoprase, amazonite, selenite, obsidian, sodalite, aragonite, fuschite, amethyst, tigers eye, black kyanite, jasper, labradorite, and even common versions of gems such as sunstone, rhodochrosite, moonstone, garnet, lapis lazuli, and aquamarine you can find in pretty large sizes for pretty reasonable prices. ALWAYS check the listing, but when looking at these minerals it's reasonable to assume you'll get a piece at least 1 inch long.
on the other hand: green/pink/bicolor/blue tourmaline, opal (especially opal with flash), translucent blue aquamarine, green/blue/orange kyanite, vanadinite, kunzite, danburite, wulfenite, charoite, pietersite, gem rhodochrosite, and peridot are usually much, much smaller than you're imagining, and if you're paying under $20 it's probably a thumbnail specimen under 1/2 inch (12-13 mm). be aware of this -- these are stones i commonly see people complaining about being the "much smaller than the picture suggested".
with that all being said -- if you mess up and realize a stone you purchased is tiny when you thought it would be larger, go back and check the listing. i would bet you anything the size was listed right there. please, PLEASE do not leave a negative review or complain to the seller publicly (or even privately)!!! if it's smaller than you thought that was YOUR MISTAKE, not theirs.
there are a lot of hardworking, reputable sellers out there getting backlash, negative reviews, and being demanded refunds because people are just too lazy to read the damn listings and don't know enough about the rock/mineral they are purchasing to realize how small it would normally be for the price they are paying
stop wasting the time of online rock and mineral shops because you didn't know what you were getting into. come on.

Storing your tumbled crystals 🔮
Tumblr media
In an ideal world, every single one of your tumbled crystals would be neatly, individually wrapped in a little soft cloth and only brought out for use. If any of you have the time and patience (and fabric) for that, I will legitimately mail you a crystal out of sheer amazement. (I’m serious. PM me.)
It’s not an ideal world. Most of us toss all our crystals together in a box, or a drawer, or maybe a bag.
I have two suggestions for us common folk who I did not just mail a crystal.
One: Keep your rough/faceted/otherwise polished crystals SEPARATE. I’m going to focus on tumbled stones here, so step one is to open up that crystal box or dig through your crystal bowl and take out anything that isn’t tumbled or otherwise smoothed/rounded (spheres, for example, can stay with your tumbled crystals). You don’t want any sharp edges in there.
Two: Split your tumbled crystals into at least two groups, and store them that way. Maybe it means you need another box or another bag. Maybe you fold up a piece of paper towel and use it as a divider in your box or drawer. Whatever you do is fine - but these groups shouldn’t touch each other in storage.
How should I divide my crystals?
To maintain that gorgeous glossy shine that most of your tumbled crystals have, they should be divided into groups based on hardness. That way, they won’t abrade each other as quickly as they would if they were all mixed together. I recommend keeping the first two categories separated from the last two, but if possible, separating all four categories is best!
Hard Crystals Crystals I’m considering “hard” are anything harder than quartz (7). These are the ones we don’t need to worry about. Hard crystals will, however, easily damage your softer crystals.
Hard crystals you might have in your tumbled collection include:
Corundum (ruby and sapphire)
Beryl (emerald, aquamarine, morganite, heliodor, goshenite, etc)
Chrysoberyl (including alexandrite)
Garnet (any type)
Phenakite
Spinel
Topaz
Quartz-ish Crystals These guys probably make up the bulk of your collection. They’re crystals that fall around the range of quartz on the Mohs scale (6.5-7.5). These can pretty safely be grouped with your hard crystals - keep in mind, though, anything softer than a 7 can be scratched by dust particles in the air, so gemologically they’re considered “soft”.
The quartz family makes up the bulk of this category, and includes:
Rock crystal/clear quartz/herkimer diamond
Amethyst
Citrine
Praseolite
Ametrine
Anything with “quartz” in the name
Chalcedony
Onyx (not onyx marble!), sardonyx
Agate
Jasper
Quartzite (occasionally called azeztulite)
Chrysoprase
Carnelian, sard
Aventurine
Bloodstone
Tiger’s eye, hawk’s eye, etc.
Pietersite
But that’s not all! Other stones that fall in this hardness range are:
Iolite
Tourmaline
Andalusite (including chiastolite)
Cinnabar (because it’s usually included in quartz)
Danburite
Idocrase/vesuvianite
Jadeite
Spodumene (kunzite, hiddenite, also sometimes called triphane)
Kyanite (directional hardness)
Lapis lazuli (actually much softer, but may have hard areas)
Peridot/olivine
Epidote (unakite)
Feldspar-ish Crystals These fall into the range of the feldspar family - Mohs 5.5-6.5. They’re definitely soft, but will be the “hard” crystals in your soft crystal box, so be careful!
In the feldspar family, we have:
Amazonite
Labradorite (including spectrolite, yellow labradorite, etc)
Moonstone (orthoclase and labradorite)
Sunstone (any type)
Bytownite, andesine, albite, and other feldspars
In addition to the feldspars, there are lots of stones that fall into this hardness range:
Zoisite (ruby-in-zoisite, tanzanite, thulite, anyolite, etc)
Charoite
Hematite
Nephrite (most jade)
Serpentine (including atlantasite, healerite, new jade, etc)
Obsidian and natural glass (tektite, desert glass, etc)
Manmade glass (electric blue obsidian, opalite, etc)
Opal
Petalite
Prehnite
Rhodonite
Sodalite (including hackmanite)
Sugilite
Turquoise
Soft Crystals Soft crystals are delicate. They’re rarely set in jewelry, and you have to be super careful handling them. They can easily be damaged by harder crystals and each other.
Soft tumbled crystals you might have in your collection are:
Amber
Angelite, anhydrite
Apatite
Apophyllite
Aragonite (including mother-of-pearl, shell, pearls)
Azurite, malachite, or a combination
Calcite
Celestine
Chlorite (when not included in quartz), seraphinite
Chrysocolla
Dioptase
Fluorite
Mica (fuchsite, muscovite, lepidolite)
Howlite and magnesite
Jet
Pectolite (larimar)
Rhodochrosite
Selenite (or any kind of gypsum)
Shattuckite
Ulexite
Variscite
I like to sort my crystals into two bowls with “hard” and “quartz-ish” crystals in one, and “soft” and “feldspar-ish” crystals in the other. Rocks and unknown crystals go in the “hard” bowl, but if they appear heavily abraded (dull, pitted surface), they might get transferred to the “soft” bowl.
Also, this is by no means an exhaustive list - if you have a crystal that isn’t here, Google its hardness and put it into the most fitting category!
Tumblr media
If you use this method to separate and store your tumbled crystals, I promise you they’ll keep their shine much longer! Happy crystal collecting :)

How to make your own chakra stone set
Tumblr media
by Michelle Gruben
A chakra stone set is a small collection of gemstones, in which each stone corresponds to one of the body's subtle energy centers. You've probably seen them for sale in metaphysical shops and online.
Chakra stones are used in energy healing and meditation. Witches and Pagans may also use them for spellwork or divination. To the well-practiced crystal user, a chakra set is like a painter's palette. Handling the chakra stones allows the practitioner to focus on a particular vibration (or "colour" of energy), quickly accessing it to achieve his or her aims.
Making your own chakra set is an easy and fun exercise, even for crystal beginners. It's a way to create personalized tool for healing and contemplation. As you assemble your chakra set, you'll learn lots about the various stones and their energetic properties.
In this article, we'll look at how to put together your own set of chakra gemstones. We'll also share some instructions for getting your chakra stones ready to use.
The Colour Method
Tumblr media
The concept of chakras, or psychic energy centers, originated in ancient India and is part of the discipline of Yoga. But Western magick workers have thoroughly adopted the chakra system, thanks in large part to New Age writers in the 1970s and 1980s. The most widely-read book on chakras is probably Wheels of Life, which has sold over 200,000 copies since it was published in 1987.
In New Age thought, there are usually seven chakras. Each chakra corresponds to a different color on the spectrum, with red at the base or Root Chakra, and violet (or white) at the top of the head. The colours represent different frequencies of vibration, from low to high. The idea of a "rainbow" of chakras has been so influential that it shows up in most modern writings on psychic energy.
Making Your Set
Tumblr media
While not everyone agrees whether the colours of the chakras are literally true, the rainbow is indeed a handy metaphor for different types of energy. So we'll use the rainbow concept to help put together our bag of chakra stones. (Bonus: Choosing by color helps you remember which stone goes with which chakra.) We'll also stick with the usual seven chakra system—though you may feel free to adapt your kit to a system with more or fewer chakras.
One more note: For each chakra, I've included a list of suggested crystals or stones. Choose your favourite stone from each category, and end up with a chakra set that's truly unique.
Tumbled gemstones are the most popular for chakra kits, because they're relatively inexpensive and hold up the best to being handled. But crystals can be found in all sizes and shapes. Crystal spheres, wands, discs, pyramids, jewelry, uncut rough stones—any of these can be assembled into chakra sets.
I've tried to balance rare and expensive gemstones with ones that are readily available at most crystal shops. (A few stones appear in more than one list. Choose the attribution you feel is most appropriate.)
Root Chakra
Tumblr media
Associated with the colour Red, the Root Chakra sits at the base of the spine.  It allows one to connect with Earth energy, and is strongly linked to instinct, survival, and the physical body. Many Root Chakra stones, like Red Jasper and Hematite, contain a high concentration of iron.
Just about any red or earth-coloured stone can represent the Root Chakra in your kit. Black gemstones—often associated with protection—are also suitable Root Chakra stones.
Suggested stones for the Root Chakra: Red Jasper, Hematite, Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Obsidian, Mahogany Obsidian, Ruby, Red Tiger's Eye.
Sacral Chakra
Tumblr media
The Sacral Chakra is located near the navel, lower back, and sexual organs. Its color is Orange and it governs passion, pleasure, and creative force.
Since the Sacral Chakra rules appetites, look for stones in bright, mouth-watering colours and pleasing textures. Our favourite Sacral Chakra crystal has got to be Carnelian—a vibrant red-orange gem whose name means "fleshy."
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Carnelian, Amber, Pink Moonstone, Citrine, Orange Calcite, Sunstone, Gold Sandstone.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Tumblr media
Located in the middle of the body (just below the rib cage) the Solar Plexus Chakra is the center of personal power. Strength, charisma, confidence, and willpower are attributes that it controls. It's linked to the colour Yellow. When shopping for Solar Plexus stones, look for a yellow-gold colour, and/or stones with sparkles and rays.
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Tiger's Eye, Citrine, Yellow Calcite, Ametrine, Rutilated Quartz, Yellow Aventurine, Yellow Jasper, Yellow Sapphire.
Heart Chakra
Tumblr media
The Heart Chakra allows one to experience love, generosity and empathy. Its main functions are processing emotions and connecting with others' energy.
Green is the colour usually assigned to the Heart Chakra, and there are many, many green stones that are excellent for Heart Chakra work. But some stones on the list are pink or mixed colours. Not to worry. Remember: The earliest texts on pranic energy don't mention chakra colours, so it is likely that chakras of yogic and tantric traditions were colourless. Pick a stone that screams "heart energy" to you, regardless of the colour.
Suggested stones for the Heart Chakra: Green Aventurine, Jade, Emerald, Rose Quartz, Pink Sapphire, Peridot, Unakite, Green Calcite, Green Fluorite, Rhodonite, Malachite, Chrysocolla.
Throat Chakra
Tumblr media
The Throat Chakra is linked to colour Blue, and it governs communication, self-expression, and truth. Situated between the head and the heart, it helps to mediate between thought and emotion. It's no big surprise that most of the stones on this list are in shades of blue.
Suggested stones for the Throat Chakra: Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Blue Kyanite, Blue Tiger's Eye, Blue Goldstone, Amazonite, Turquoise, Blue Apatite.
Brow Chakra
Tumblr media
Also called the "third eye," the Brow Chakra is located just above the eyes, between the eyebrows. Its color is Purple, and visualization, dreaming, and intuition are some of its functions. Working with the Brow Chakra helps to awaken psychic gifts (and perception in general).
When choosing crystals that vibrate with the Brow Chakra, deep blue or violet stones are recommended. Stones with iridescence or moving patterns are also very stimulating to the light-sensitive third eye.
Suggested gemstones for the Brow Chakra: Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Purple (or Rainbow) Fluorite, Shungite, Labradorite, Moonstone, Opal, Kyanite.
Crown Chakra
Tumblr media
Located just above the head, the Crown Chakra is the body's link with celestial and/or Divine energy. Just as White combines all the colours of the rainbow, a fully-functioning Crown Chakra blends all of body's diverse energies into a unified being.
Crown Chakra gemstones tend to be clear or white in colour. They are though to be the stones with the highest and purest vibrations.
Suggested gemstones for the Crown Chakra: Clear Quartz, White Moonstone, Opalite, Selenite, Angelite, White Sapphire, Apophylite, Milky Quartz, Celestite, Moldavite.
Putting it all together
Tumblr media
Pretty soon, you should have collected seven (or five or nine or ten) stones to go in your chakra set.
If one of the stones doesn't feel right, or doesn't appear to be playing nice with the others, then kick it to the curb. (I mean, gratefully place it somewhere to be re-purposed.) Keep shuffling rocks around until you have a set that represents the chakras to you.
Next, you'll want a home for your stones. A dedicated bag or box keeps the set from accumulating physical and psychic dust when not in use.
Depending on what stones you've picked out, some of them may need to be stored separately from the rest. Softer materials can pick up dings and scratches from their pokier neighbors. Selenite and Fluorite, for instance, are fragile divas. To avoid the problem, choose gems that are close on the Mohs scale. Or, work out a way to keep them in separate bags or compartments.
Finally, as with any magickal tool, it's a good idea to cleanse and bless your chakra stones. Use your favourite crystal cleansing method. There are several effective methods: Smudging, sunlight or moonlight, water (if it won't harm the stones you've chosen), other crystals, visualization, and breath. Set your intention that these stones will be your partner on your journey of learning and healing.
Attuning chakra stones
Tumblr media
If you like, you can follow the cleansing process with an attunement exercise. This is definitely recommend if you've made the chakra set for your own personal practice. Basically, attuning your stones allows each one to get acquainted with the energy center it's going to represent.
To attune your chakra set, dim the lights, light some candles or incense--whatever helps you get into a meditative state. Take a few deep breaths and let go of any energy build-ups or distracting thoughts.
Starting with your Root Chakra stone, place each stone in turn over the chakra that it corresponds to. You will be adding the stones one by one, until you're "wearing" all of them. (Unless you have a lot of hands, the easiest way to do this is lying on your back.)
You can use a diagram of the chakras to help you place the stones—but remember chakras can be in slightly different places on different individuals. You will know the first stone is placed correctly by its feel. Some people experience the feeling as equilibrium, or heaviness, or a light tingling vibration. I like to describe it has a ball settling into a hole in the ground—once it's in the right place, it tends to stay comfortably settled.
Once the stone is placed on the chakra, gather some of the energy in that chakra and send a little pulse outward. This is similar to directing energy with your hands, but the energy starts in and exits directly from the chakra center. It may take the form of a beam, or a ball, or small petals of energy reaching outward.
Wait for a reply. You may feel the stone either absorbing the energy or reflecting it back to you (or a little of both, or nothing at all.) Take another breath, and try it again. Let the stone and the energy of your body "talk" until they feel as if they are in harmony. Do this until the stone can't possibly accept any more energy, or you sense that the dialogue has stopped.
Leaving the Root Chakra stone in place if possible, move on to the Sacral Chakra. Repeat the stone-charging process. Though you will be focusing on attuning only one stone at a time, you will have a gentle awareness of all the tones you have charged so far. Remove the stones in the reverse order, starting with the Crown Chakra and working down to the Root Chakra.
To check your work, put the chakra stones in a bag or on a table and gently run your receptive hand over them. Do you feel a difference in energy between the stones? Some may feel warmer or cooler than the others, or appear to vibrate faster or slower. (That's good!) If you did an exceptional job of attuning the stones to your body, you may even feel sensation in one of your chakras when holding the matching stone.
Your chakra set is now ready for energetic healing, divination, and meditating on the chakras. Chakra stones may need to be cleansed and re-attuned periodically to keep them working their best.

How to make your own chakra stone set
Tumblr media
Posted by Michelle Gruben on May 25, 2017
A chakra stone set is a small collection of gemstones, in which each stone corresponds to one of the body's subtle energy centres. You've probably seen them for sale in metaphysical shops and online.
Chakra stones are used in energy healing and meditation. Witches and Pagans may also use them for spellwork or divination. To the well-practised crystal user, a chakra set is like a painter's palette. Handling the chakra stones allows the practitioner to focus on a particular vibration (or "colour" of energy), quickly accessing it to achieve his or her aims.
Making your own chakra set is an easy and fun exercise, even for crystal beginners. It's a way to create personalised tool for healing and contemplation. As you assemble your chakra set, you'll learn lots about the various stones and their energetic properties.
In this article, we'll look at how to put together your own set of chakra gemstones. We'll also share some instructions for getting your chakra stones ready to use.
The Colour Method
Tumblr media
The concept of chakras, or psychic energy centres, originated in ancient India and is part of the discipline of Yoga.
Each chakra corresponds to a different colour on the spectrum, with red at the base or Root Chakra, and violet (or white) at the top of the head.
(Bonus: Choosing by colour helps you remember which stone goes with which chakra.) We'll also stick with the usual seven chakra system—though you may feel free to adapt your kit to a system with more or fewer chakras.
Crystal spheres, wands, discs, pyramids, jewellery, uncut rough stones—any of these can be assembled into chakra sets.
Its colour is Orange and it governs passion, pleasure, and creative force.
Since the Sacral Chakra rules appetites, look for stones in bright, mouth-watering colours and pleasing textures. Our favourite Sacral Chakra crystal has got to be Carnelian—a vibrant red-orange gem whose name means "fleshy."
Suggested stones for the Sacral Chakra: Carnelian, Amber, Pink Moonstone, Citrine, Orange Calcite, Sunstone, Gold Sandstone.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Tumblr media
Located in the middle of the body (just below the rib cage) the Solar Plexus Chakra is the centre of personal power.

Also called the "third eye," the Brow Chakra is located just above the eyes, between the eyebrows. Its colour is Purple, and visualisation, dreaming, and intuition are some of its functions. Working with the Brow Chakra helps to awaken psychic gifts (and perception in general).
