A loud belch sounded from the palaceâs dining hall, followed by boisterous laughter and unorganized yells. The princess of Ithaca glared down the hallway while she stalked past the dining hall to her destination of the training grounds. âMen,â a loud voice called, the speaker standing up on a wooden bench, âwe have been waiting for the throne for far too long. Canât you see we are being played?â
Y/n slowed her pace, taking a peek into the crowded room to see the one suitor she hates the most speaking. Antinous.Â
âI say, we take the throne. That boyish prince and his sister only stand in our way to the queen. Once we are rid of them, we shall have full access to the crown." Cheers and yells followed quickly. The onlooking royalty sneered in disgust. Normally, Y/n would only walk away and tell her mother about the new plan, but something inside her felt differentâan urge to fight, a need for conflict.Â
Taking a step into the light of the hall, Y/n cleared her throat.
âWhat would my mother think of this? Threatening to kill both of her children and then seizing her by force?" Y/n had to keep from gagging, not only at the idea of their threat but also the horrid stench of the room.Â
Antinous turned to the princess with a look of pure murder and flame.
âWell, if it isnât the weak girl. If you speak even a word of our plan, I will rip you limb from limb so you can meet your father in the underworld,â he stalked towards the younger girl with a vicious grin. âNow that Iâve thought about it, how about we begin that plan now? Starting with you.â
Y/n was wise enough to duck down, blocking an oncoming punch, only to be nailed in the gut with his knee. Falling to the ground with a sharp gasp, she was pulled to her feet by her hair. âCome on, girlie. You had the strength before to challenge me; where is it now? Youâre as weak as your father.â
Staggering and getting out of his grasp, she pulled up a loose fighting position. The princess narrowed her eyes at Antinousâ insults while taking steps back to match his steps forward. Y/n tried to find some sort of strategy to take him down, like how Telemachus taught her. Her brother would always say to fight with wisdom, but there was no wisdom anywhere near this fight. Strategy only works if your opponent has strategy too. Antinous was anything but a planned fighter.Â
So with her next best option, Y/n grabbed a nearby vase and chucked it at her rival's head. She missed, making Antinous even more angry. With a yell, a foot made contact with her stomach, throwing the princess to the floor and her head hitting a pillar. Pain shot through her entire body as she struggled to regain her breath.Â
âSo, I did this easily. Thanks for the amazing lessons, Tele.â Her mind wandered, forgetting about her approaching opponent as she took a glance at a nearby wall. There, up high, hung a tapestry by her mother. The twelve Olmpyians were displayed with divine glory. Glory that could help Y/n not die, if only they saw her. With nothing left to lose, the princess sent up a silent prayer before deciding to help herself.
With much pain and huffs, Y/n managed to stand on her feet once more with a sway.
Antinous offered a loud laugh, ricocheting off the stone walls.
âYou just canât stay down, can you? Do you not want to see Odysseus in Hades?â
âDonât you dare speak my father's name,â she hissed through gritted teeth. She leaned onto the pillar with one hand while her other held her hurt stomach. Something other than pain burned inside herâa yearning to see him hurt, to see Antinous suffer.Â
A new energy boosted her body; her muscles didnât feel as sore, and the pain was dissipating. Deciding not to question this, Y/n dodged another punch aimed for her jaw. With fast footing, she grabbed a spear off the wall beside her and countered another punch.
Antinous grabbed the spear to rip it from Y/nâs grasp. Quickly, Y/n pulled the spear closer to her and kicked Antinous in the ribs. Instead of knocking him down, he only stumbled back.Â
âLeftâ A voice spoke in her mind. Y/n was about to question the order until she noticed Antinous barreling towards her and instantly followed the demanded direction.Â
Dodging a swipe of his sword, the princess swung her spear down at the man's knees, causing him to trip. Looking down to where he fell, a sudden push of rage flowed through her veins.
âBloodâ
She didnât need to hear the voice again to know exactly what to do. With momentum, Y/n brought the weapons head down into Anitnousâ thigh, earning a scream from the male. She ripped the weapon from his flesh only to bring it down once more with another bloody cry. Her thoughts seemed barren except for a new order from the unknown voice.Â
âStopâ
That order only seemed to boost her adrenaline. Stop? She couldnât. Not with all this pent-up anger and frustration she felt for Antinous. Y/n needed to make him learn where he stood as a guest in her kingdom. But as she raised her spear once more, the voice barked a command louder and all her pain and exhaustion rushed in.
âSTOPâ
In an instant, her spear clattered to the floor as Y/n held her head with a groan. Antinous was being tended to by his fellow suitors, who had opted to stay on the sidelines. With labored breaths, Y/n managed to stumble away from the dining hall and towards the empty training grounds.Â
Exhausted, she slumped to the sandy floor and leaned her back against a rack of swords. Her eyes shut against the glaring sun as the royal attempted to regain her breath. To her pleasure, the heat was blocked by a sudden shadow. The young adult cracked open her eyes to see a darkened figure wearing the full armor of a Spartan soldier. A mixture of emotions flooded into her soul as she recognized the nation's armor. Was this news of her father from serving beside the Spartans? But her hope was snuffed out as the familiar voice spoke.
âStand up.â
She wanted to argue, but something in her felt compelled to follow the instructions. So, shakily, Y/n stood up in front of the warrior. From a new angle, she could see the stranger's identity. All breath escaped her lungs as she recognized the being from similar statues and paintings.
âAres.â
The god, who towered over her with his divine form, smirked at the recognition.
âIndeed. Iâve seen your skill, princess of Ithaca. You fight well,â the god of war stalked around the girl in a circle, seeing her state after the fight.Â
Finally, the two pieces connected in her mind as she turned to face him.
âIt was you. The voice. The orders. That was all you.â
âYou follow orders well, except for when youâre told to stop. I like that sort of fight.â Ares stood tall, power and bloodlust radiating off him as his armor seemed to brighten a bloody red in the sunâs light.
âWhyâd you stop me anyway? You are the god of bloodlust, are you not? I couldâve killed him and solved the whole problem!â Y/n argued, upset at the missed opportunity.
âHave you forgotten the laws of hospitality? You would have been punished harshly by the gods had I let you continue. Not even I can defy those.â He glared down at her with warning. In response, she looked away with a defeated huff.
âWhyâd you even help me then?â She grumbled, looking at the nearby swords; a few training weapons had begun to rust from limited use.Â
"You have the ambition needed for the battlefield. Why would I let such skill go to waste with no proper mentor?â This caused Y/n to look at him instantly in shock, meeting the gaze of a grinning god beneath his helmet.
âMentor?âÂ
âY/n of Ithaca. You fight to protect. You fight to the last stand. That is a warriorâs blood. Like your father before you, you have the makings of a legend.â Ares held out his hand like he was shaking for a deal. âBecome my champion, and I will help you become stronger than any opponent you shall face.âÂ
Y/n thought it over for less than a few seconds before grabbing the gods hand in her own and shaking them up and down.Â
âDeal.â

Trying to organise my thoughts on where each lifestealer stands before tomorrows session. Here's a non-comprehensive & non-comprehensible chart
Like. There's sorta 3 sides. Team Wemmbu which is just Wemmbu. The Players which is now just Mapicc and Ro, maybe they can get clown or leo to log on and help them in combat, but like. idk if thats really going to happen, ya know. Then theres just. Uh. team PB&J, i hope they find a real team name soon, but i was hoping the players would do that to, and they have not. At least its not the New League, or something as dumb as that. But the name situation is not great. Remember last season when we had cool team names, wasn't that nice?
Anyways, I'm really intrested to see where Ash and Squiddo end up. Ash wants to protect them, and she stated that she 'just wants to be evil' and wants to be on Team Wemmbu. They want to be friends, but they are on opposite sides of this conflict. By supporting Wemmbu Squiddo is goign against everything Ash stands for. Whats goign to happen here? idk, but im excited.
what was the point of this post? Idk. Anyways, I hope jumper or Pentar die tommorow. I hope Minute looses more people. I want him to suffer <3
#lifesteal spoilers#lifesteal smp#yapping#amyways. i can't sleep and i think its cause i took my meds too late in the afternoon. but maybe hypixel skyblock farming is just too adict#adictive#ive done a lot of good farming today#3 new unique gold medals

Inevitable Gerudo Headcanon Posting
i spend too much time thinking about the gerudo like genuinely theyre one of my favorite recurring tribes in the zelda series, which as we all know is a form of suffering because god forbid nintendo stop relying on racist tropes and caricatures.
keeping in line with this nintendos portrayal of the gerudo tends to either be 1) why theyre bad, and/or 2) how a culture of all women has kids. like thats an oversimplification of ALLL the problems present in the gerudos portrayal but thats a different post for another time. in general i bring this up because it means, for me as well as any others interested and invested un the gerudo, that there is a kind of generalized lack of pre botw characterization or cultural concepts to work with, esp when compared to the other tribes of hyrule. (looks pointedly at how theres no gerudo in the gerudo desert but there is a prison slash execution site where their king was held. LOOKS AT WHO SURVIVED THE PROLOGUE CUTSCENE IN WINDWAKER)
ANYWAYS. botw was really fun because, while it had plenty of its own issues with the gerudo, they were at least non hostile! so with that in mind, the headcanons and worldbuilding i write primarily apply to the wilds era gerudo, which spans the timeframe between ganondorfs reign as king to totk (suspending disbelief because that timeframe is. by all accounts. longer than recorded human history. friendly reminder ganondorf does All That before we even get sheikah wifi towers. christ.)
anyways. second verse same as the first, core assumptions and then a readmore
Some core assumptions:
The BotW branch of the timeline is chronologically set AFTER the previous timeline, ie the events of ToTKs ancient past is set AFTER the last event of the Hyrule Historia timeline. essentially they all come back together to form one line that makes up ToTKs ancient era
The biggest effect on Hyrules topography was the flooding in Wind Waker. after an unknown point, the flooding ocean receded leaving behind the ruins of ancient Hyrule. at some point after that, the zonai settled parts of it and made the buildings wed see as ruins by the time of BotW. slowly the various tribes of hyrule immigrated back
all peoples within the setting of hyrule are loosely grouped into categories called tribes. in this sense, tribe refers a collection of peoples with shared traits, without anything concretely set in stone (for example, hyrule includes the tribe of hylians, the tribe of gorons, the tribe of koroks, etc etc). the main six who show up repeatedly can be considered the sage tribes (gerudo, hylian, sheikah, rito, goron, zora), and the various types of enemies can be considered the monster tribes (the blin tribe of bokoblin, moblin, bulblin, etc)
so. starting at the beginning. near entirely headcanons
in ocarina of time, we see the spirit temple, where Nabooru awakens as a sage. this temple features a MASSIVE statue of a woman adorned with a snake and its primary mechanic centers around mirrors and reflected light. while the mirrors return, we dont really get that same kind of implied spiritual/religious focus again. so instead im going to make a mountain out of a molehill and position her as the primary spiritual figure here. im running low on name ideas tho so suggestions are much appreciated. for right now ill refer to her as the serpent goddess
the gerudo are culturally a people of function over form, practicality over whimsy, but when circumstances allow for it, are drawn like any other to arts and music and decoration. they have a long history of bloody, brutal battle, and while the war has long since ended, its kings buried and its warriors naught but ghosts, the desert remembers. its sands haunted by the bloodstains of conflict past, and echoes of ancient tragedies. the gerudo here in the era of wilds may have lost their records of their ancient history of conflict, but some aspects, preserved by the sands, have managed to survive the onslaught of time
surviving all this time is the ancient creation myth of the gerudo people. as legend tells it, long ago in the time before myth, there existed a goddess whos power was transformation. she was possessed of two forms, one a proud humanoid figure, the other a striking serpentine form twisting through the heavens with ease, her scales glittering with mirror sheen. to shift from serpent to human, she would shed her skin, and grow it back again to embrace her serpentine form anew
seven times she shed her skin, and from these shed skins rose the first gerudo, each embodying a key aspect of their sacred mother. the serpent goddess's scales are each a nascent soul of a gerudo, and when those scales are shed and fall to the land below, a new gerudo is born. likewise, when a gerudo dies, their soul returns to the scales of the serpent goddess, to await until they would descend again and reincarnate once more. the seven daughters of the serpent goddess led these gerudo as their guardians, leaders, and protectors. but, away from the seven heroines and their new people, the goddess shed her skin an eighth time. this daughter was born alone, and while her sisters embodies the strengths of spirit, flight, endurance, knowledge, motion, skill, and gentleness, the eighth was born with insatiable wanderlust. learning of this, the seven sisters cursed her name for leaving them and their people behind, and despite their shared ancestry, the eighth was forbidden to be spoken of. this suited her just fine, and the eighth was free to walk the land and learn all of its hidden paths
in time, war came to the gerudo, as it often does. though they were united, and strong, they were a small collection of people, and thus despite their proficiency were threatened nonetheless. it became clear at last that they could not stand and fight, and that to survive, they could not remain in place for long. but the enemy had pushed them deep into their home, and knew all the paths back. as hope seemed lost, as if summoned by call, the eighth sister at last wandered home. calling her seven sisters to her, she proclaimed that every hidden step was known to her, and while she lacked the power to guide them on her own, together they would escape unseen into the night, their enemy none the wiser. thus, skillfully guiding the skills of her sisters, the eighth heroine led the gerudo into safety, and the seven were humbled from their pettiness. seeking to apologize to the sister they had banished and forgotten, the seven sought to make amends, but the eighth was content merely to have a place of remembrance among them. to wander is not a sin, as long as one remembers where their home lies.
the eight heroines have long since passed and returned to their mothers scales, but the virtues they embody are cherished by the gerudo family they left behind, seeking to hold their memory close even as the years wear on
to the gerudo was bestowed the blessing of the element of Spirit, embodied by their iron wills and manifesting as crackling lightning. this spirit lightning is the gerudo's will made tangible, arcing out towards their target as an extension of their focus and sheer determination. to a gerudo, nothing is impossible until one has devoted themselves entirely to it, giving it their all, and only then may it be conceded
a long history of persecution has resulted in the gerudo being increasingly insular and isolationist. their admiration of the art of combat and how it can bring forth an individuals talents, achieving a perfect harmony between body and will as the weapon became an extension of ones limbs, was often perceived as aggression by outsiders, who would react as if to defend their own interests. the gerudo have suffered much at the hands of hyrule at large, and have pulled further and further away.
as the gerudo pulled away from hyrule, and hyrule from them, they devoted most of their attention to themselves. cooperation amongst themselves is seen as paramount to their survival, and familial affection often extends well past ones blood relations.
the gerudo value family, and loyalty, alongside independence and cooperation. everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their goals, but if someone is struggling, it is the responsibility of everyone to help. children are raised by as many people as are available, and even in the times of monarchy, the palace was less a formal dwelling place belonging to the gerudo ruler and more a public forum that the ruler simply happened to live in
most of the palaces amenities are fully public, a tradition that has carried on to riju's time. meals are communal and the kitchens open to all, and the palace has no strictly dedicated servants, merely a collection of amenities the gerudo people are free to use at will and often do so together. what this means is that there is no servant, for example, dedicated to preparing riju's meals but instead a collection of people willing to cook and willing to eat making meals riju partakes in, and this applies to most other menial tasks as well. the throne room is where the leader of the gerudo engages in their job as public servant, attending to the needs of the gerudo at large and responding to crises as they arise.
as nintendo is keen to point out, the gerudo are a people that are predominantly "all women", and thus spends plenty of time going over dialogue wherein people wonder how they have children and including a plethora of sidequests in the wilds era about acquiring partners. im ignoring all of that and instead going by lizard rules, in part because here theyre descended from a serpent dragon goddess, wherein a population of all female lizards were able to successfully maintain a stable population and have children without major issue. gerudo like ganondorf are the equivalent of a rare genetic mutation that flips some other genes on and has a different result, that really doesnt affect anything besides this one kid and doesnt have any major effects or differences in their life. two gerudo are perfectly capable of having kids together, having relationships as usual, and on the topic of "how do the gerudo have kids", thats all i really feel like exploring that topic
with an insular, isolationist culture that appeared for all intents and purposes to be all women, the gerudo were often a source of major culture shock when interacting with the other tribes of hyrule, most notably hylians
bonus hylian lore: hylians experience an even greater lack of sexual dimorphism than irl humans do, so gender presentation is near exclusively presentation based, with a heavy emphasis on clothing. showing skin is considered an act of emotional intimacy, and most hylians opt to cover as much as they can. the intensity of presentation scales upwards with their role in society, with the royal family having the most extreme form of gender presentation. gender is presented through clothing style and hair length, with ornamentation, jewelry, and piercings serving as a kind of intensifier, and hylian culture at large tends to operate on a sliding scale of masculine to feminine, with the middle androgynous zone being a weird gender spot for them
the gerudo, by contrast, never really developed a concept of masculinity versus femininity. gender pronouns in gerudo are based on personal proximity, occupation in society, and familiarity. these barely translate at all into hyrulean.
as the gerudo, by circumstance or by choice, interacted with hylians and the tribes of hyrule more and more often, some kind of understanding had to be reached with regards to translation. as relations were already terse, making an attempt to fully translate the gerudos understanding of gender to your average hylian was considered a fools errand, and thus translation was done in broad strokes, giving hylians the simplest root form of gender pronouns (and none of the increasingly specific declensions). loosely, the term vai is closer in concept to "us" and voe is closer to "not us" "foreigner" "outsider", and has taken on a connotation of " forbidden" or "taboo" (leading to wilds era gerudo secret clubs often imploying translatable Adult Puns regarding their catering to voe and the overall titillating atmosphere they tend to put on for customers). with regards to hylians, the feminine princesses and queens had more in common with the gerudo and were thus "vai", but the masculine kings and soldiers, who were often the main figures pushing aggressive efforts into conquering or otherwise absorbing the gerudo into hyrule, were "voe". this was then distributed in various guides to understanding the gerudo language as " vai" meaning "woman" and "voe" meaning man
gerudo town, as the capital of their people and general hub, has a law banning the entrance of voe. at the time if its writing, this was a fairly obvious law, because most "people who are forbidden" are forbidden from entering. as time has passed, hostilities cooled, and relations warmed, this law has been the subject of a long struggle of interpretation. it doesnt translate well into nearly any other language, and thus who counts as "voe" and "vai" is subject to endless debate. the differences in gender perception are most clearly on display with the admittance of the gorons. one might assume that the gorons, being a monogendered people who typically use masculine terms of identity and endearment in hyrulean, to thus qualify as voe, but the gorons cooperative nature, near uniform monogendered culture, and emphasis on hard work and independence has enough in common with your average gerudo that considering them as vai is a no brainer
ganondorf thus is also, clearly, considered vai. the specific pronouns he uses in his native gerudo include declensions regarding his position as royalty (one that has since gone out of use and is fairly archaic now, only really being used as a kind of neo-pronoun by current era gerudo as a rebellious self identification thing), his relation as the only child of koume and kotake, and are conjugated based on relation between the speaker and him. in the ancient era, calling ganondorf voe would be so confusing as to not even read as an insult. if one really wanted to refer to ganondorf with a tone of insult, theyd substitute the declension of familiarity with one used for strangers
ganondorf achieved his position as king the old fashioned way: a gift from his moms. ancient era gerudo practiced typical monarchy with a line of succession, and koume and kotake named him as the next royal of the gerudo as their heir. the hyruleans, seeing a masculine gerudo of royal birth, referred to him as "king", and correcting a culture of people he had little respect for was just a waste of ganondorfs time. after ganondorfs sealing, the gerudo changed to the current system of chiefs, wherein the current chief names a successor, or by default passes it onto their living heir. a system is in place to democratically install a new chief if the current one passes without naming a child their heir, or naming a successor in their place, a system drafted and then used in ganondorfs absence. riju thus inherited the mantle from her mother, but could opt instead to force a vote, or have such a vote forced on her due to her age, leading to much of her insecurity seen in BotW. this system has proven to be relatively stable, especially coupled with the continued tradition of keeping the palace an open public forum
the first chief of the gerudo was nabooru, advised by the sage of lightning we see in totk, following ganondorfs sealing
the gerudo are very familiar with the souls of the dead. poes, souls lost and aimless, wander the desert after millennia of bloodshed. thus their funerary customs have persisted, even as the folklore behind them fades in and out of memory.
a person perceives reality through their body. they know the sky is above them both by craning their neck up, and by the sensation of ground beneath them. in death, one is bodiless, and sensation becomes a confusing, directionless onslaught. it is so easy for a spirit to become lost, unable to orient themselves. the gerudos funerary rites seeks to aid these souls in their journey towards returning to the serpent goddess, as without guidance they are liable to become poes. the body after death is merely an empty receptacle, and on a practical level is a potential draw for dangerous desert scavengers seeking an easy meal. the shifting sands and hard soil makes burial difficult to impossible, so instead the gerudo burn their dead. smoke is ephemeral and thus able to be seen by spirits, and even as the wind rushes, smoke will still travel upwards towards the heavens. a spirit will linger by its body for a time, and thus cremation helps provide guidance to the dead. unable to feel the earth beneath them, the dead can follow the trails of smoke to orient themselves upwards, and dispel lingering confusion
as the body is burned both to guide the departed's soul and to ward away scavengers, the gerudo inter their belongings into gravesites instead, usually one or a small collection of items that the deceased valued or were considered emblematic of them. having a proud history of warriors, many gerudo consider their weapons extensions of themselves, and thus many gravesites will consist of a single weapon.
the sage of lightnings temple served as the primary gravesite for many gerudo, and in its heyday was decorated with love and care as befitting its role. torches burned bright in its sconces and the walls painted with care in massive sweeping murals. here in the temple, a foreigners idea of the gerudo as austere and practical would fall away, as the halls shone with warmth and color, taken from their desert home
lost souls that become poes often end up becoming consumed by their regrets and despair at their inability to find their way back to reincarnation through the serpent goddess's scales, and from there turn to rage and aggression. the sunlight glinting off of the goddess's mirror scales will blind and disorient the dead who have lost their way, as they try in vain to rely on their half forgotten senses, and thus poes eschew the day in favor of the cover of night. though incorporeal, poes move as fast as the desert winds, and try all they can to cause mischief and havoc. usually the end result of their shenanigans is light injuries and scratches, but it isn't uncommon for a waylaid traveller or adrenaline seeking youngster to suffer fatal consequences. despite this, poe hunting tends to be the go-to act of rebellion for antsy teenagers with a taste for danger. in general, one of the only things fast enough to strike a poe is a fired arrow
as the sands grew and the desert expanded, it grew more and more difficult for the steeds of the gerudo to gallop across the dunes, and they were driven further and further back until the gerudo phased out their horseback traditions entirely
and as an AU specific trivia tidbit
after ganondorf's sealing, nabooru grieved the loss of her childhood friend by constructing a dedicated tomb to house ganondorf's gravesite. even though he wouldn't die, nabooru would never live to see him again, and in traditional gerudo fashion, his gravesite is marked by his signature trident, further imbued by nabooru's blessing of lighting (in a similar fashion to urbosa's fury, despite urbosa not being a sage).

Cis Yet Not Cis: The possible intersection of GNC identities and being trans/nonbinary, and misconceptions about GNC people
Introduction
I think the best way to introduce this post is to simply present a variety of often-conflicting quotes from LGBTQ people about "gender nonconforming" people(like butch women and femboys):
"Femboys can take off being a femboy at any time, unlike trans people."
"The character expressed gender euphoria at being perceived as masculine, so they have to be transmasc, not just GNC"
(a butch woman speaking) "My initial reaction to getting called cis is to cringe... cis is viewed as the opposite of trans, so it implies I'm comfortable with conforming to my gender"
(a trans woman speaking) "What is the material difference between me and my HRT femboy friends?"
"If you take away lesbianism from being butch, then all you have left is dressing differently."
"GNC people are not queer, queer is only if your identity or sexuality differs, and GNC people are cis"
"Nobody is assigned femboy at birth- they're essentially trans."
"Theres a long history of some butch women getting dysphoria for not being masc enough, sometimes going on HRT or getting top surgery."
"Femboy is only an aesthetic descriptor, it has nothing to do with identity"
âWe never see him dress masculine, he's ALWAYS dressing fem, so how can he just be GNC?â
These quotes, and many others, reflect varied, conflicting perceptions of gender nonconforming people among even some trans people. So I suspect that a significant percentage of LGBTQ people have a flawed understanding of GNC people, and so I wanted to make this post. I think most of you basically get it but since I see some weird statements every now and then so i figure it may be helpful to convey this breadth a bit better, and that may help solidify it for some people.
(Also, to clarify a definition: I'm using "gender nonconforming" here to mean "someone who's gender expression doesnt match society's conception of their gender identity", ie butch women, femboys, tomboys, etc. As far as I can tell, this is a relatively recent definition for GNC. It has been heavily adopted as the primary definition in many LGBTQ circles(probably because of the vacuum it fills), but theres still people who use the term as an umbrella term for trans+nb+etc(which seemed to be the meaning before the recent shift) or people who use it to mean something like genderfuck, so I felt I should clarify.)
Expression and Breadth
A source of the disparity in the quotes above is that GNC identities involve something like a spectrum. For example, for male-identifying cis femboys, you could lay out a demonstrative spectrum something loosely like:
1)A femboy who is arguably gender conforming outside of the fact that he enjoys the aesthetics of dressing fem. It has no emotional importance to him, he can "take it off" at any time, and his conception of identifying male has not changed much.
2)A femboy who is only modestly attached to being a boy(demi?), but doesnt identify as being a woman nor feels a particular pull towards nonbinary conceptions either. Feminine gender expression is important to him(cant "take it off" without emotional harm), much moreso than what gender he identifies as. His conception of male identity is loose.
3)A femboy who's combination of feminine gender expression and identifying as male is important to him. His conception of male identity has changed a lot from what was given to him by society.
4)A femboy who is very similar to 3), but has a much stronger need to be feminine and be perceived that way, going so far as to go on hrt to feel expressed and fulfilled. His conception of male identity has changed drastically from what was given to him.
These are just loose examples(multi-attribute things dont map cleanly to a linear spectrum anyway, the point is to just demonstrate some things), and of course there are those in between each point. I also suspect a significant % of femboys are somewhere between 2 and 3- feminine expression is important to them, theyve opened up their concept of male identity a lot but are also kind of winging it(which is fine) and are more attached to femininity than male identity, and just have some movement towards certain values in reaction to things like gender restrictions and toxic masculinity.
You can of course construct this sort of demonstrative spectrum for other gnc identities like tomboys, men who identify as gnc but not feminine, gnc people who specifically value a mix(tbh a lot of femboys are like this), etc.
This illuminates a few things especially when viewed alongside conceptions of being trans. For example, theres a difference between:
-simply having "gender expression" without it having emotional importance to you
-gender expression being indirectly important to perception as a gender identity(like being seen as masculine as a vehicle to being seen as a man)
-gender expression being important as perception of a more specific gender identity(like being seen as a masc woman, not just a woman, not just masc, and certainly not a masc man or a feminine woman- the whole picture is key)
Part of why I bring that up is because some people seem to think that expression is only a tool to reinforce/convey identity, rather than sometimes an inseparable part of what's important to someone. (Also, just to mention: gender expression isnt just clothing.)
Another thing the demonstrative spectrum points to is breadth. The quotes at the top of this post pretty much all focus on a subset of this breadth of gnc people. Because of that, that makes some of the quotes flat out wrong(because they only imagined that identity as a specific thing- or are just stupid) and others just sound odd when you dont realize the part of the range they're talking about. Most GNC identities are fundamentally quite broad, partially because they point to a "mismatch" between identity and expression, but expression serves multiple different purposes as mentioned, and thus these identities are naturally broad.
Labels and Conceptions
Now, imagine the above spectrum, but broaden it from "cis male-identifying femboys" to "cis men". Now you have some gender-conforming men at the start of the list. Or do the same with a list for women, from gender-conforming women to butch women.
Having those side by side in the same list brings us to the next question: Do the gender nonconforming people have the same conception of their gender as the gender conforming people? Do they have the same "gender identity"? Is a butch woman the same "gender identity" she was assigned? Is identifying as a woman the same for a gender-conforming woman as for every butch woman who deeply needs to be perceived as masculine? Obviously, thereâs some relation, but what counts as âthe same gender identityâ?
Before I continue on this, theres often some assumptions that go into "Trans" and "cis", such as:
-Being trans means having explored what gender means to you, having worked through discomfort with whats assigned to you and restrictions, and having thought about what resonates with you
-Being trans means gender divergence has a special importance to you
-Cis is thus often positioned as the opposite of these- hasnt thought about gender, hasnt self-realized, hasnt worked through discomfort on restrictions etc
-Gnc people are cis, and therefore etc etc
Again, like that quote above from a butch woman: "My initial reaction to getting called cis is to cringe... cis is viewed as the opposite of trans, so it implies I'm comfortable with conforming to my gender."
For a lot of gnc people(i dont know what %, of course, and have biased assumptions based on the communities im exposed to), their conception of their gender identity is about as shifted from their AGAB's gender conception as a nonbinary gender. But the fact that they use the same label(and probably still have some type of conceptual connection with their AGAB) obfuscates this shift, it obfuscates that they mayve gone through introspection etc. Questioning, exploring and understanding your gender identity doesnt just mean going from two identities with visibly different labels, but also includes going between two identities that have the same label(woman->(butch)woman)
Reconstructing a house can involve as much work and decisionmaking as moving into a new house. The ship of theseus, except gender. Virtually no boy is assigned a conception of manhood that can include being a femboy, nor needing to be perceived as feminine. That is a fundamental change they made/something they discovered while self-investigating, and those different needs demonstrate the differences. If a GNC person cant "just take off" being GNC because it makes them dysphoric/upset/deprives them of gender euphoric feelings, that points to the change and the pursuit of that different conception, and is hardly different from, say, nonbinary genders. Just as there are nonbinary fems who are close to indistinguishable in behavior/needs from very fem women but in a nonbinary identity, theres the same for male-identifying fems.
The "Nobody is assigned femboy at birth" quote initially took me aback because it sounds silly to even say, and while the phrasing could perhaps be better there's definitely a point: Nobody gets assigned very GNC conceptions, they dont start with that, even if you put clothing aside.
Of course, this doesnt mean all GNC people have a different conception of their gender than genderconforming people- again, the demonstrative spectrum before. Some GNC men still harbor toxic masculinity. You cant usually tell from outside signals what a person has thought about with their identity or what their needs are- this is true for every group. And sometimes change is not consciously thought out. But in any case I do think a considerable % of, for example, âcisâ femboys basically reshape what being male identifying means to them and are essentially a form of nonbinary/genderqueer.
In general on this topic, I think this comic from https://somethingaboutlemonscomic.tumblr.com/post/678523447463313408/4x10-4x11-4x12-last-update-chapter is relevant:
Conclusion
Ultimately, my main points are:
1)i think some people need a bit more understanding that âgncâ and gnc terms like femboy are pretty broad categories and include some people who have extremely similar needs to trans people, as well as people who are just average cis people with different fashion, and everyone in between.
2)Cis and trans have multiple meanings that are positional/relative- see nonbinary people who hesitate to use trans depending on context, because they associate it with "having gone through a lot of things binary trans people are associated with going through". Similarly, GNC people can have an awkwardness with being called trans even if they have in mind everything i've said about being called cis. Being called trans is assumed to be like girl->boy/enby, rather than girl->genderqueer alteration of girl. Both terms can be perceived as off.
3)Gender identity changes can keep the same label, which can mask the degree of change inside those gender conceptions
This post may come across as like âmany gnc people should count as nb and/or as transâ, and maybe, but honestly I don't care much about that, those words are fairly contextual and multi-purpose anyway and have moved so much over the years. Thatâs only perpendicular to my points of trying to convey GNC people more accurately and move past some assumptions.
In any case, if the fact that i'm walking near that claim is Wrong and Concerning im totally open to criticisms of my thought process etc, and i absolutely dont intend to conflate, say, âgnc people who just dress different but its not related to their feelings/self-conception/etcâ with trans people or nonbinary people let alone the degree of their struggles/oppression, which is part of why its necessary to convey that gnc people are a range.
Like Shel said in https://cohost.org/shel/post/1221440-some-wisdom-about-be , people tend to get very confident in their specific experience of lgbtq communities etc, and similarly can get overly confident in what an average person is like. So I just caution you to be aware of the limitations of your own circles and small data sets. Like if youre about to say something like âall the people I know are <>â then you should probably immediately tread with caution because it seems to me that gender groups are usually considerably heterogeneous in many ways.
A few clarifications and misc comments:
-I definitely understand that cis GNC people have privileges that usually help them avoid some problems trans people face. Like being able to avoid a higher amount of bioessentialist ire, less likely that medical gatekeeping prevents them fulfilling their needs, etc. I dont mean to downplay that. But I do want people to understand things like that butch women have faced intense hatred for a long time, and some of the most violent hateful fascist comments I have ever seen on the internet have been directed at femboys- these things point to important dynamics of how right wing hatred works.
-I used the terms butch/femboy predominantly in this post because I felt like they quickly convey the degree of GNC i'm talking about, but I dont mean for them to monopolize conceptions of GNC. Talking about GNC people is always messy compared to, say, talking about agender people. With "agender", afaik(correct me if I'm wrong!) almost noone who would be classified as agender dislikes the term and also it is very clearly about them specifically- it is both sufficiently broad and specific. In contrast, "GNC" is pretty vague, "Femboy" doesnt cover all very gnc men(such as ones who dont consider their expression to be fem), and "Butch" has very particular connections with lesbianism, etc. Terminology is currently avoidably sloppy for describing GNC people, no way to avoid it.
-As alluded to at a few points, you dont have to be male identifying to be a femboy, although thats usually who uses the label. An accurate, inclusive definition of femboy would be "someone with a very feminine gender expression but still aligned with a mix of masculinity in some way(ie usually, identifying as male)". Somewhat similarly, butches are definitely not exclusively women, I was just focusing on that subsection of butches for the purposes of this post.
-Theres simply a huge overlap between the experiences of, say, fem trans women and fem gnc men and fem enbies.(and the same for the masc inverse) Theres a tendency to see a set of experiences and go "Oh! Same identity as mine!!!!" and not see whats shared across different identities rather than is particular to a single identity. Seriously the experience overlap is fucking enormous.
-The positioning of 2) in that spectrum is partially arbitrary but thats what you get when you try to map 4+ things to a 2 dimensional spectrum
-"Genderqueer" can be used to convey the meaning of "having a 'queer' version of your cis gender", but its has a ton of meanings and is very often used to just mean "nonbinary/trans", so its pretty impractical to try to use it to mean specifically that concept
-I focused on cis gnc people to make my points and comparisons more clear(isolating the focus to GNCness), but a lot of what I said is relevant to understanding trans gnc people, who are extremely based

Hi, I'm lost, what's m34th?
ah its okay i dont think ive extensively talked about them(?) !! heres a lore post so i can refer back to it as well!! (lengthy bpp incoming) ->
general history:
the m34th was originally founded in the central kingdom as a group of witch hunters/killers as part of the general anti-magic mindset that was common in a lot of the regions following the fall of the witch king
after a while they figured out that killing a witch wasnt practical/efficient because 1) they were loosing a lot of people and 2) even if you kill a witch, it doesnt kill the magic, the familiar just goes and finds someone else to be the host and then you have to find that witch all over again
and they also realized that witches in general were not commonly evil or harming the public, but at the same time the kingdom still saw them as a threat and wanted to erase them from the public eye, so the m34th became a kind of regulating force
ie, they wont kill or harm a witch (unless as a last resort), but if a witch is being a bit too....public?? they will step in. (so this is the reason no one really knows about witches/excuses it as myth. also the reason why witches are forced to find backdoor ways to fulfill their oath of helping people instead of just coming out and curing cancer left and right--the m34th wont allow them to ever be public)
in very EXTREME stubborn situations, they will actually kill a witch if shes too much trouble and just hope the next [insert animal] witch is less of a pain in the ass
so not to say that witches fear them, but they do consider them enemies because 1) a witches life becomes much more restricted under the eyes of the m34th and 2) soilders of the m34th are ACTUALLY capable of killing a witch
general information:
the m34th is made entirely of black canvases (highest possible magic resistance), since the whole point of their existence is fighting witches and magic. (marshal is an exception--he is extremely talented and whatever he lacks like magic res he secretly makes up for in potions)
they also are meant to be magics bane in the sense that in tcwg theres a struggle between technology and magic--technology was created to fill the vacuum that magic left when witches became outcasts, and so its the idea that technology does what magic does (but often slower and less effectively, like healing)
the m34th though is like any government where they have ample funds and resources, and hide a lot of technology and secrets from the public. that being said, the kind of machines and tech the m34th uses is WAY beyond what the public sees/uses/comprehends.
(slaps on *ancient technology* meme because i cant explain it. think really cool technological shit. limes hovering comm device. they probably have frictionless hoverboard bullshit. set your phasers to stun. the kind of technology that could counter and stand up against magic)
they wear almost all white as representation of anti-magic (to contrast witches traditional black attire)
they are the third component to the main magical groups that are in constant conflict with each other: witches, m34th, coattails which represent magic/technology/dark magic respectively (dark magic is a wip but its the forbidden magic of tcwg) and they balance each other out like a healthy ecosystem
another way to think of the m34th is like the cryptic men in black. if you as a citizen see too much or know too much, expect a visit from these guys who are gonna flash the memory pen at you to keep you and everyone in the public ignorant
(for the final conflict against the first witch king the m34th and witches actually do join sides to fight so theyre best thought of as anti-hero types)

okay time to fucking embarass ourselves heres the summary. with no fucking plot details because every time we tried to get into an actual plot outline the length tripled and its long and embarassing enough.
So Eyecandy, conceptually, is post-post-apocalyptic, vaguely urban fantasy, in a setting that is technologically equivalent to WWI. Thematically what we're ultimately trying to communicate is all based in the kind of philosophy we rant about - the necessity of active growth and change and evolution as a fundamental moral good, the inevitability of violence in a violent world, and a relationship to Divinity that is explicitly hostile. We've been writing it as two parallel, loosely connected arcs (or at least trying to) with the tension and build-up before a major armed conflict in the background. The world of Eyecandy - The Skein - is essentially a theoretically infinite number of islands of stable reality, surrounded by vast and dreamlike expanses, loosely connected by semi-stable paths that give, at best, a vague sense of physical continuity. Humanity, likewise, is a much less meaningful idea, as the physical bodies of most in the Skein are at least somewhat monstrous - think bug parts, tentacles, extra eyes and limbs, scales, fur, as well as explicit shapeshifters, etc. also theres extremely nasty guro sex that we have no intention to tone down or censor. as a treat.

Thoughts about lightners' darkner "forms/outfits"
I was thinking about the lightners and how they appear in the dark worlds, and... y'know, I don't think its completely just a gamey thing thats irrelevant to lore. At least, I think it'll probably end up not being deliberately explained in the story but it'll be something more... close to metaphorical, something that we look back to and realize it kinda said some interesting things
why do i say this? because i mean, look at how blatant berdlys design is. hes got such a nerdy starwarsy starfoxy outfit as his dark world design, and... well, you could take it that your outfit is just based on your interests or your perception of self then, perhaps. If you want to delve into the unfreedom of deltarune, perhaps its the "single role" that you can be boiled down to, or something, hence kris' design looking very protagonist-y with a sword and all. Essentially, I think theres meaning in these designs. Whether its about how you view yourself, how you want the world to view you, or just what you feel represents a... perhaps a hidden or most truthful part of yourself. Maybe if we look at dark worlds as the escapism that they are, then the dark world designs for lightners is just... how they'd want to be when roleplaying, or maybe how they feel their most authentic self is. Though, I'd think kris would suddenly become a goat tbh if that were entirely the case. But maybe its just what they think their most hidden self is my ultimate point here though is that, as usual, susie is an outlier. Shes the outlier to ... well, choices. she seems to always be making her own choices and ignoring ours, and certainly has some interesting loose ends we haven't quite figured out about her home life and such, or about the whole apple incident with kris Her dark world design... is.... probably the LEAST different from how she looks in the light world compared to anyone else. I think... it could be fair to say that this maybe represents that susie doesnt really have anything to hide? I think that'd be wrong to say; she clearly hides a lot... but like, her authentic self... is this it? In some sense, maybe. or maybe its just who she wants to be. I ... I mean, I know she probably has a lot of conflict about how she feels she really should be vs how she is, but. I think its just... maybe its just to tell that shes very blatant and upfront, a sort of "what you see is what you get" kinda mindset I dunno, this is more of ramblings that I don't think quite make sense yet but i wanted to write down while they're still baking in my mind. Feel free to add anything, even disagreeances. Maybe you do think her design is a decent departure from her light world design, and that KRIS is the one to look at, for how they look possibly the MOST different, rather than looking at susie for looking the least different... or maybe its just fun silly stuff that im lookin too much into :p

something something abt the comparison of the violence and power of a family unit inflicted on the children and the institutional violence the elves inflict on short lived races. both words used loosely, and i also am on the fence abt like. Whether the power the elves hold over the setting is intended to be institutional. It seems more rooted in the interpersonal well we are older so we just know better. And theres something to be said abt how common infantilization is in colonial rhetoric but i dont think thats what kui was going for. Maybe she was referencing it but i dont think thats the intention of execution if that makes sense. Clearly i lean towards no.
I think it works fantastic w the themes of the work and ties in marcilles conflict w the wider world really well. But w actual critique of systems of power it falls flat. And i think its intended as that w kabrus conflict n i think it does his perspective a disservice that its ultimately framed as more of an interpersonal conflict. Maybe my mind will change on reread tho im struggling to articulate my thoughts here. Like sometimes u gotta respect the scope the work sets out to cover. But im also like idk idk like if ur gonna talk about it i feel u should address the institutional aspect of it more u know.
Tho i dont think dungeon meshi is out there questioning the status quo and is more like. W a new generation of ppl who can listen n learn together, within this system, we can do better. Which is fair if naive, u know. But its a fictional work we can believeâŠ. We can pretend⊠just like we can pretend feudalism was fine* (complicated opinion im not getting into ). Price of entry. I do think its kinda tragic that the best we had in our imagination was laios becoming king after the interpersonal mess between the royal family led to an entire continent of ppl not involved in this nonsense being immortalized for 1000 years. Like idk i dont think we should have a monarchy after thatâŠ.. but i get what laios arc was abt leadership n stepping up w being the son of a village chief etc etc was abt and the narrative parallels between laios n falin as siblings n degal and thistle. But im just not sold. This got off topic. Its an interesting comparison that i find really clever in some ways and in others im like âŠ? Abt.

Iâm new here whatâs the deal with the dostoevsky crossover seinen I keep seeing posts refer to ?? I say this with embarrassingly keen interest ehehe
LMAOOO ITS UHHH omg im so shy . its a manga idea i had like a year or maybe a year and a half ago that i just rotate in my brain and will probably never actually make in any timely manner bc i have too much going on but
basically its a seinen idea working title being 'virtue + desecration' about angels being assassins that are sent to carry out vigilante justice in the form of killing those viewed as 'guilty' by a higher power. the characters are all based off dostoevsky characters from various works and the main two characters are alyosha who is an angel sent to kill raskolnikov but instead finds that he wants to help him get better instead because he's deeply conflicted etc etc. yknow. they do hot girl shit together. the degree to being based on dostoevsky characters itself is very loose mostly based in somewhat the looks and character traits except for a few story beats like raskolnikov having murdered a woman with an axe a few years ago , and some relationships like ivan being alyosha's brother, dunya being rodya's sister, etc
supernatural elements in it are based in like. body horror kind of stuff with "angels" being like very uncanny and having been made into angels via an open heart surgery that only few people can do but like theres also religious supernatural elements and biblically accurate angel horror and some other vague things idk its like really specific but i think its fun dont lookat me . themes overall are about religious trauma + morals etc philosophy stuff that dostoy talks about idk.
idk its a silly thing i like to think about and draw things for when im stressed out but i mean maybe in the future i would looove to like. write it out or something. LOL BUT THANKS FOR ASKING im literally so shy about it though bc its so sillie and SU9D0OJKSD
#amory rambles#like amory RAMBLES rambles#virtue + desecration#thats my tag for it but i probs havent tagged all of it#i have the first chapter storyboarded but like idk if ill touch it again anytime soon#tw body horror mention#??? 9Y8DUFSIJ#dont look at me 9UD0FSIPOJKSF

hi so. dsmp countries as countryhumans.
im not sorry this was funny
explanations of each design and also a bonus doodle under the cut (its arguably the best part of this)
okay first off the height was loosely based off of how big the actual countries are.
LMANBURG - i based it kinda off of the people lmanburg was for. fox ears for fundy, flower for tommy and also a homage to the whole tommy singing to flowers and that's how they got the national anthem. The glasses are for wilbur bc he kinda made the whole thing. the outfit is based on the lmanburg uniforms. the tail is because most of the people in lmanburg are hybrids so. also the hair felt hamilton-y to me and that was funny. the three hearts on the uniform is part of a headcanon im currently working on but basically its a war medal. oh btw i love the lmanburg flag its symbolic and nice and works very well.
GREATER SMP - i made the flag for this bc there isn't an official flag. the flag was based on dream obviously cause its literally his whole country. anyway the crown is because that's what the leaders wear. the under shirt isn't very fancy because none of the members wear anything fancy. the coat jacket suit thing feels very traditional and proper to me which is the same as the nation so. also i debated on what i should do for the ears bc i was thinking human ears but also like all of the people have pointed ears so i decided to go for that
MANBURG - uhm i love the manburg flag btw <3 its so good and representative of the administration and also it feels like very modernized and sleek and americanized if you get what i mean but its still very destructive and has strong "evil" connotations as well as being a mockery of the lmanburg flag. okay now on to the design. i promise promise there's a difference between the suit/hair/pants and the skin its just really slight. anyway i think it looks cool either way. the big tie gives off "false confidence / cocky / big shot" to me and i thought that worked well. the horns are there bc schlatt obviously and its almost touching the eyes bc manburg is very self destructive and will never last. the ears are human bc manburg also isn't super friendly to hybrids (headcanon??).
POGTOPIA - sorry guys but i hate the pogtopia flag it makes no sense and has no reason and also i just ugly. but alas that's the flag so ill do what i can. anyway pogtopia is very desperate and also an absolute mess so the outfit is symbolic of that. the beanie is for pogbur ofc. you cant really see it but it also has big eyebags. the fangs are half destructive and also half bc its for hybrids. the ears and tail as well are the whole hybrid bit. i think that most hybrids (if they could) left manburg which treated them badly and went to pogtopia which was for the hybrids. also the tail is kinda reminiscent of niki who to me feels like what pogtopia was for. if that makes sense.
NEW LMANBURG - i also really like the new lmanburg flag. i think its cool. anyway the eyepatch bc it looks cool and also i thought it was reminscent of how fucked up lmanburg was and how they rebuilt. the wings again are kinda phoenix-y and also peace and whatever. the flowers are again like rebirth and renewal and stuff. the tail and ears and such are again bc of the whole hybrid thing. also the outfit is like a suit-ified lmanburg uniform
BADLANDS - okay so admittedly idk shit about the badlands. so. the flag is pretty cool tho. i gave it horns like bbh and cat ears like antfrost and a mouth like sam / bbh. i did the cloak and scarf thingy bc both bbh and ponk have something like that so i figured that fit. sorry there's nothing really special about this
SYNDICATE - wooo boy theres a lot here. so the syndicate does not have a flag so i had to make one. i looked some up and there was a lot of red and black which i liked. red bc of like anarchy and shit and then black bc that's also pretty anarchy-y but also withers which. they do a lot. i put it like slashed bc its very "conflict opposing dangerous" and that works well with the syndicate. and then i saw one a long time ago that was based on their end portal table so i also added that with the border and the thing in the middle. then i added a bit of gold because i wanted to and i thought it looked cool and to me gold is a syndicate color. i gave them a crown bc both techno and ranboo have crowns so. they have a cape bc its like a secret organization and then i added fluff bc its cold in the artic. the outfit is supposed to resemble the type of outfits that techno and ranboo and somewhat niki ? so like older outfits with the corest and fancy sleeves. and then also like good boots bc they do like fighting and stuff. the hair is short as like a niki and phil thing. also the tail kinda looks like ranboo and that was kinda accidental but i like it. the ears are feathered for phil and also kinda niki and i didn't think wings fit. the clasp is an eye of ender bc of the end portal table. you'd think the syndicate would be tiny tiny but i headcanon that they have other lesser members everywhere (just random informants and such) so
SNOWCHESTER -snowchester's flag is pleasing. also i like the memes about it being close to the mlm flag. anyway the outfit is obviously inspired by ctubbos outfit but its cold and called snowchester so i figured it fit. the small horns are for ranboo. the flowers are for peace and healing and whatever and also a homage to the lmanburgs. the curling horns are not close to the eye but could grow to be bc of nukes and such. the tail and curling horns are both puffy and tubbo.
LAS NEVADAS - i love the aesthetics of the las nevadas flag its so so good. anyway the outfit is pretty self explanatory. the horns and devil tail is bc its a place of sin (casino and whatever). the only reference to the habitants are the feathered ears (quackity) bc its not reeeaaaally for the residents.
KINOKO KINGDOM - okay. okay. the flag is absolutely by far the most aesthetically pleasing flag. i love love off white its amazing and makes sense. i gave it a mushroom hat because. mushroom. the hair is a mix of tina's, sapnap's and karl's. the collar is for george, and the sleeves are for tina. the rest of the outfit is kinda for karl??? if that makes sense. and then the tail is for tina and sapnap
EGGPIRE - i also lovee the eggpire flag. it works well. anyway you may notice that there is literally no callbacks to the eggpire members. that's cause the egg literally does not give a shit about the members. its hair is long and kinda curls like the vines. the dress is about temptation and also like. not battle ready doesn't need to explore or anything just happens. if that makes sense. vines around the head and waist for the silly factor. vine tail because it looks cool
LIMBO - i just did limbo bc i didnt know what else to do. anyway limbo has a sweater bc i feel like ghosts get sweaters and then also is in grayscale because that's the commonality
thank you for your time.

A man who looks like he drove his car through a bad fashion factory is wandering around, poking around in every place there is possible to be poked around in, even behind objects that couldn't possibly hide a person, although a person is exactly what he is looking for.
He has long brunet hair tied back in a ponytail that reaches all the way to his bottom. A couple of loose strands hang about, framing a face of light skin inlaid with a concerned pair of mismatched eyes. One is brown; the other green.
His wardrobe is just as mismatched, for her adorns a black and white polka dot shirt, a black and white plaid vest, a black and white pair of striped pants, and one black shoe alongside one white shoe. One might easily confuse him with a walking kaleidoscope.
This walking kaleidoscope seems to have no sense of just how out-of-place he looks, how out of his depth, how bizarre. Certainly no sense of any potential danger that may be lurking about. As earlier stated, he is searching for someone, and it's a search he is so heavily invested in he isn't paying too much mind to how strange he must appear.
"Stanley! Stanley? Staannnnllleeyyyy!" he calls, cupping his hands around his mouth and calling out in every direction. He's quite upset, for he is most worried about Stanley. Days ago the man walked through a door labeled "EXTRA new content" and hasn't been seen or heard from since. Arthur has been beside himself with fear for the man, and that fear is reflected in his expression now.
He turns around and sees a stranger nearby. Rushing over to them, he says, "My good fellow, I am searching for a man named Stanley. Might you have seen him? He is about my height, black hair, black eyes, black glasses, looks kind of like your average office nerd. Please tell me you've seen him."
@the-haunted-office
Theres some random guy out there yelling for his friend. A man stands there, ignoring these calls as he continues to fiddle on his phone. He's kacketless this time, as the warmer weather makes it hard to wear his cool shearling jacket. His sleeves are rolled, his top button is undone down to the middle of his chest- and he's wearing a pair of gold aviator sunglasses. Around his neck, is his government issued IAA badge that he chooses to wear almost all the time.
At this moment, Agent 38 is dealing with some very, very, very important top priority government business That important top priorirty government business being his current Tetris game. He's determined to beat his mentors high score, and knows he'll manage to do it one day.
Of course, the guy who is calling for his friend chooses to approach him while he's in the middle of his Tetris groove. He can sense the urgency in his question and locks his phone so he can focus fully on the situation.
"Stanley huh?" The dark haired agent mumbles as he turns to look at Arthur. Immediately, he is overwhelmed by all the conflicting patterns and lack of colour. It's taking his eyes a moment to register what exactly he's looking at- but gives up trying to understand.
"Don't think I've ever heard the name thrown around in board meetings. Definitely seen a lot of office nerds around here though." He laughs momentarily, before turning back to seriousness. "You report it to LSPD? They've got a missing persons list that might help you out."

its rare that theres street preachers in my city (thank fuck) but when there are i take it upon myself to try to challenge them a little. how you gonna yell about what islam teaches when you havent actually done your research? so i did that today, and something this guy said made me stop and think.
no, he didn't convert me to christianity. i still think we all just turn into worm food and our consciousness fizzles out as the electrical signals in our brains die (although i do hope we get to be ghosts (but doubt it) or that we all go to whatever we believe in when we die (also doubt it) because i think itd be neat.)
when i was questioning 'well if you respect everyone's faith and their beliefs, why bother yelling about how everyone should be christian? what if we go to whatever heaven or hell our religion's doctrine says we should?' he said something to the effect of "well then either they're all real or none of them are, and that doesn't seem logical". and here's where my thought comes in. why does everyone assume god is benevolent?
because here's the thing. my (very loose and not well researched) understanding of like, 90% of religion is that it's never really directly from the mouth of god. its 'heres a secondhand account of what god said to this guy' or 'and then jesus son of god said this' or 'this prophet said god spoke to him and said x'. what if this one god purposely told multiple people different ideas, doctrines, ideologies, whatever, just to see what happens? or with the specific intent of causing conflict? if there really is some omnipotent ageless Thing, surely they get bored! in the grand scheme of the universe, our planet means next to nothing! who's to say we're not just one of trillions of science experiments? little snowglobes to shake up and fuck with?
anyways of all the theological systems i think i appreciate polytheistic religions a bit more. look at the greeks! they sure dont claim all their gods are benevolent!
anyways all this to say: sometimes its fun to fuck with street preachers in (relatively) good faith (pun intended)
also, like i said, i am not a religious person or knowledgeable about most religions except for through cultural osmosis, so if you have thoughts to add please feel free lol
#tegan rambles#theology#this is probably insanely blasphemous to so many religions sorry#believe in whatever you want thats free will baby!

i want to continue with sharing old Astronomers stuff, which is like kinda canon almost but not really bc of circumstances (the fact it was an RP so it was kinda loose and undetermined, and it was based on wc which i plan to disconnect from)
so, heres the entire outline of the story arc. a number of things happened differently from arc 1-2, like Lamb appearing earlier, and Eden as well. youll get to see how i planned for this to work in an RP setting. (theres some missing context, sorry lol.. feel free to ask abt it. however i will clarify one gameplay aspect was fourth wall breaking, in the form of players getting linked to websites and interacting with a bot in normal channels)
Finalized Arc Outlines document
Things not noted in the outlines: minor developments for side characters or monsters that can reveal more lore.
General Arc Summaries
Arc 1, New Stars
The cats will deal with more typical clan struggles and tensions. Hemaris and Sooty are dealing with the death of Bracken Dapple, their mom, which causes much tension between both clans for the vague reasons of death. Rumors on witnesses to Brackenâs death will be a rise to conflict. It will later be revealed that the two etherclan kits are half clan, Blueberry Frost being their other parent, finding out later she had kits. More conflict will arise, concerning if the kits should go to Terraclan or not. They do not need to make a choice in this arc, but the effect of their separation will be relevant further on.
At the end of the arc, when things resolve themselves, we move into Arc 2 with an introduction to Mauve Tea.
Arc 2, Lost Perspective
While the clans have tried to settle from their previous tensions, Terraclan is approached by a rogue named Mauve Tea who has interest in joining the clans with his band of rogues. He claims he is interested in their clans because he has some knowledge he could teach to them, his own connection with the Stars being something that led him there.
Mauve will create problems with his reality weaving skills, which are not very good right now and cause small rifts without him meaning to. Both clans will run into these, to different extents. However all will seem normal with Mauve, until he starts to become more aggressive about his failure to hear from the Stars, wanting to take more control of the clans in order to âproveâ something to them.
Either or both- Mauve will take a life from both leaders- likely Albedostar first with no trace left behind and Cattlestar later in a more vocal confrontation.
Mauve should potentially have a meeting with the Stars one night, confronting them about his âprogressâ while vaguely showing players that his interest in the Weaving skill has been all in the wrong way, as the stars will not listen to him due to the obsession he's formed. He will feel abandoned and angry and will want to take over terraclan fully in order to bring on a ânew age of knowledgeâ.
This will lead to a confrontation- where it goes? Unsure. Does cattlestar step down? Does Cattle ask etherclan for help and cause a war? It can be assumed that cats/players *will* become interested in mauveâs knowledge and âmagicâ so its hard to know if others will side with him or have their beliefs shift.
Arc 3, Underground
Leaving Mauve behind (unsure if dead or just left), we transition into human problems. Likely building up at the end of Arc 2. We will see humans causing issues on nearby hiking trails, littering, and other developments. The cats will explore out and discover Mammoth Woods, but decide it is too dangerous to consider territory while humans cause problems on all sides.
Cats start to get weird dreams hinting at Eden Creature and the Underground. They will get hints to check out the Cobble Bridge but wonât find much. They will explore further into the human town to try and find an entrance but will fail- this could be a spot to lose some cats or have them taken by humans temporarily.
The dreams will likely cause lots of conflict on Albedoâs end if they start to spark interest in spirits and such. He may in fact deny the dreams meaning much of anything. In some form, this arc should start to or continue to drive some distaste towards Albedo and his clanmates, making clear announcements about how this isnt true and that it is nonsense.
Expand on- Ends with cats getting snatched and getting tracking collars. Albedo gets taken. Rescue mission takes place, involving potential new players and maybe Lamb? To lead them out of the vet and back home. Imply there are humans on the outskirts and eventually uncovering the Sun Rod on the cliff, it is the tracking device for the collars some of them have acquired.
When cats return home, the dreams return too, more urgent than before. They push for them to dig and to find her. That they need to leave. (throw in a gathering here?) This pushes the cats towards the sewers again, to properly discover Eden Creature.
This is where we unfold the Underground lore. She starts to say how she reached out to them, but reached too far (to the players). And was trying to tell them of someone horrible who destroyed their home, who is still out there. Players will get to explore the sewers and go on various events to learn more.
Arc 4, Catalyst
Albedo ain't done yet. He should be falling into a personality not unlike Empyrean even though he is unaware. Visions and dreams should point this out (by them perhaps saying the same thing in the past and present). Albedo has not returned to the clans yet. His delay in returning has left the clans uncertain, being partially led by Eden Creature. She describes that she was revived to lead the future cats back to their new home, as she was hinted at the destruction of their home by the humans nearby.
They cautiously explore for the unreached Mammoth Woods, a daunting red wood forest that causes them to go back for the moment. But as they remain, human influence gets worse. They struggle on their borders, and eventually push through- leaving behind Albedostar.
They go on their travels towards the open tundra, looking for a spiral of a lake. On their journeys Eden Creature communicates their past through dreams directly. They learn more of Empyrean Fire. (might do this some other way idk)
Off screen, have Albedo search for the clans. He will first have a Moment when he sees the Sewers are revealed. Then he goes to the Sun Rod, able to see where cats with tracking collars are traveling, and he goes after them.
Albedostar eventually catches up to the clans on the travels. He is confused in his identity, mostly in seeing Eden. He is angry in general that his cats left him. Say that quote I wrote down**. Albedo is killed as he gets more aggressive, bleeding out in the snow. It has to be snowing.
Arc 5, The Darkest and the Brightest
The clans have reached their territory, their new home, thanks to Eden Creature. However at this point she gives up her leadership role, and it is up to the players to see what will happen with their clans now.
This is the end of the RP outline. Players will uncover some remaining things, learn about reality weaving, explore the culture that was left by the Underground, etc. But this is where i will let the rest of it unfold in time with player actions and see what we could do next.
Purely a document for brain-storming!! Add ideas or mention them in rp-planning
Morryâs ideas
Lots of human interference, but from a perspective that doesnt have to do with humans until it is found out? tracking devices, vets, etc
Something related to ancient ancestors bc its fun. Yes, The Moonâs Talon guys and after probably
To human interference: disaster that mirrors The Moonâs Talon. Oil. fire.
Cat name Empyrean Heaven who was an old or original leader of the Reality Weavers. Maybe tied to Eden Creature or a present day cat (is happening)
**there is a document i wrote down things i wanted Albedo to say at his death. cant say exactly what for in each part but this is what it put (not totally clean/in order as i planned to review it later so it may seem a bit off in parts):
there is no one up there. there are no spirits. i have seen the throne of stars, and it was empty.
long version
There is no one up there. There are no spirits.
I have seen the throne of stars, and it was empty.
In truth I thought I saw them all â myself as the viewer of the dark.
And yet when my eyes beheld that sight I thought myself as before upon earth;
As the man in dreams who looks not upon himself, but upon his dreams.
Yet I am not a dreamer.
The stars are made of light â a thing which is everywhere at once.
It comes from no other place than itself; it does not move. It never changes. And if there were any spirits, then why should they not look out upon us with their own eyes?
The stars are not gods. They live upon air alone, in perpetual night.
They have nothing- they do not sing and smile â
Or weep.
I have looked into space, and it is a great, vast expanse of darkness â
Of void and emptiness. I have looked upon the heavens, and I have found them empty.
Of void and emptiness. I have looked upon the heavens, and I have found them empty.

My home
Synopsis: you convince the doctor to spend a day with you on earth. You didn't however plan to run into your mother.
Warnings: homophobia
I needed a comforting 13 fic after loosing her :(
"Come on doctor. Its fun i promise!" I had been begging her for the past ten minutes. All I wanted was to go shopping. On earth, I might add.
"We can get cake?" Perking up, the blonde pulled down a lever which sent the ship spiralling. Finally, always the sweet tooth. Throwing on my hoodie, I allowed the doctor to grab my hand and pull me out of the tardis. Definitely earth, definitely England and definitely Manchester. Home. Which meant, shopping centre. Seeing as she'd never been here before, I dragged her along until we came to the main part of town. It was busy, like usual. I had missed this honestly. Sure, the universe was amazing. But, sometimes, you need home comforts to recharge.
For an hour, we weaved in and out of shops. Buying things and judging the latest fashion trends. The doctor, having her own unique style, wasn't a fan of much but I made sure to but what she did. Not because I wanted her attention or anything. Definitely not. Not at all. Anyway, heading up to the second floor of the shopping centre, I paused for a moment. We had been walking for a while and my arms hurt from the bags.
"Are you tired, love?" Gosh, did she have to call me such cute names? It made me blush every time.
"A little. How about we go get cake now? There's a-"
"(Y/n)?" Freezing up, I felt my heart stop and my blood run cold. Turning round, I came face to face with my mother. Feigning a smile, I shifted awkwardly and I could tell the doctor was confused.
"Hey." There was a wave of nervousness in my voice as my mum furrowed her brows.
"You've been gone for six months abd all you say is hi? Where the hell were you?" Swallowing thickly, I began playing with my fingers.
"Travelling." Whilst that wasn't exactly a lie, she knew something was up.
"What? Where? With who?" Before I could respond, i felt the doctor arm slip round my shoulders.
"With me." My mother took a step back, a look of confliction on her face.
"And who are you?"
"I'm the doctor, its nice to meet you." Holding her hand out, i cringed as my mum rejected it. Straightening out her jacket, mother turned her nose up slightly. This wasn't going to end well.
"You've been gone for six months, travelling with a woman? What is she to you?" Turning red, I stuttered over my words as I couldn't find the strength to tell the truth. She wad just a friend. That's all she'd ever be.
"Because if this woman has romantic intentions. You will be going back to that camp." My face drained and I swear I felt my hands go numb. The thought of going back there terrified me. The doctors arm moved to hold my waist, pulling me against her side securely.
"I'm sorry? What camp is this then?" Tears built up in my eyes, my head cast downwards.
"Because I really hope you're talking about dummer camp right now." She was angry, I could tell.
"Of course not. Straight camp. If you've corrupted my daughter I will have her fixed." The blonde went silent from shock. Maybe she'd never heard anyone talk like this? After all, her species were thousands of years ahead of our own. It wouldn't surprise me.
"Theres nothing to fix here apart from your disgusting attitude." My head shot up and I saw the Astonishment on my mothers features.
"What if I love your daughter? There's nothing that needs fixing." Looking over to me, my mum almost looked depressed.
"You love this woman?" Maybe the doctor would think I was just playing along with her. As far as I was aware, she didn't actually love me.
"Yes. Yes I do." Clearly disgusted, it took a moment to register that she was getting closer to us.
"You're such a disappointment (y/n). You always have been." Getting worked up, I stepped forward completely exasperated.
"Me? What about you? All you've ever done is look down on me! You were never there for me! I have been alone my entire life because of you. You're the worst mother I c-" a sharp pain spread through my cheek and I heard the doctor gasp. She had slapped me. All at once, everything hit me and I felt my knees go weak. Luckily, the doctor caught me before I hit the ground.
"Say goodbye to your daughter, because you won't be seeing her again." Picking me up effortlessly, I buried my face into her shoulder out of embarrassment.
"You can't take her away from me!" Chuckling, the doc tilted her head patronisingly.
"Watch me."
Of course, we headed back to the tardis immediately. The day was now ruined and it was all my fault. Like usual. Sitting me down on the steps, the doctor set her ship going, floating out into space. Putting my head in my hands, I sniffled quietly.
"Hey, it's okay now." Coming to sit next to me, the blonde rested her hand on my back.
"I always ruin everything."
"That was not your fault. Okay?" Giving her a doubtful look, she sighed and brought me into her embrace.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Resting my head on her chest, I listened to her heartbeats and relaxed a little.
"I didn't think it was important." Her fingers ran through my hair slowly.
"What did they do to you, love?" Ignoring my blush, I cleared my throat and thought back over my time there.
"Every day was the same. Wake up. No food. They'd sit us down and force us to watch these dystopian skits. Of straight couples. Of normal people." Taking a deep breath, I looked up to meet her golden eyes and smiled weakly.
"If we refused the programing, they'd electrocute us. Or deprive us of sleep and water." The doctor cupped my cheek, running her thumb along it softly.
"Your mother did that to you?" Nodding at her question, the doctor pressed her lips together to supress her anger.
"She's threatened to send me back twice now. Just now and the last time I went home." Telling her this, I laughed half heartedly abd rubbed my eyes.
"Why did she the first time?" The doctor asked, keeping me in her hold securely. It was warm and safe this close to her. If I slipped away, everything would collapse around me. That's how it was in my head anyway. Her question scared me though. Because, if I was honest, I could ruin anything. Then again, I hated lying to her.
"Because I kept talking about you." I admitted, digging my nails into my palms out if reflex.
"I kept talking about the pretty blonde girl who I saw every day. Who I lived with. The one who stays up all night watching movies with me. The person I..." Trailing off, I swallowed down those thoughts about shook my head.
"The person you what?" Of course, the doctor was ever persistent. Needing to know everything to see if she could help. Lip wobbling, I gazed at her with a sad smile.
"The person I love." Realisation set in on her face slowly but I was quick to keep talking. To try and distract from that point.
"Of course she thought I was lying. Told me to stop making stuff up or I'd be sent back to camp." It was hard to speak as tears were forcing there way out and I had started shaking.
"(Y/n)..." Ignoring her, I sniffed harshly and looked away.
"But its fine. Can't go home. Can't stay here b-"
"(Y/n)!" Fliching from her sudden yell, the doctor turned me towards her and smiled reassuringly.
"Take a breath." Doing as she said, I breathed out and bit down on my lip to stop the crying.
"Why can't you stay here?" Confused by her question, I looked at her as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Which it was. Wasn't it?
"I just told you, I love you. Its embarrassing to be around when it's unrequited." There was a pause before I heard laughter. The doctor was laughing. Why was she laughing?
"Oh love, I told you out there didn't I?" Shrugging my shoulders put of confusion, the elder stroked my cheek lovingly.
"I told your mother. So what if I loved you?" Sitting myself up properly, I stared at her in awe. Surely not?
"You were just..."
"Being honest." She finished off for me, scooting closer subtly. My eyes flicked between hers and then to her lips. She was doing the same. Grabbing her braces, I pulled her in and pressed my lips against hers. Without hesitation, she kissed back, arms encircling my waist. Carefully, she moved me onto her lap, not breaking the kiss for a moment. Her hand climbed up my thigh causing me to gasp in surprise. Taking the chance, she deepened the kiss and pressed her tongue against my own. My lungs were screaming at me for air and I wad left breathless as the doctor finally pulled away.
"Better?" Giggling slightly, I felt myself grow shy and look down to the floor.
"Much better." Without warning, she stood up and hoisted me to my feet.
"Come on. Let's get you cosy. I know that's what you want."
Sitting myself in the king sized bed, I immediately felt all my bones relaxing. The duvet was so thick and warm, the pillows extra fluffy. Not to mention the fuzzy blanket. Perfect. Well, almost. The doctor walked in and climbed in beside me. It was still strange to see her in anything other than her usual attire. But she looked really cute like this. Opening my arms, she looked at me confused.
"Can't I hold you doctor?" She looked shocked at my request but soon sank into my hold. Her head rested on my chest and her arm draped over my waist. I couldn't help but nuzzled my face into her hair. I had dreams like this, but they were never this pleasant.
"What movie are you putting on?" She asked, making no effort to move at all. Chuckling, I ran my fingers through her hair before kissing her head.
"I'm not sure, any requests?" Looking down at the doctor, I could tell she was tired. Though, she'd never admit it of course. Feeling like, just because she was a timelord, she didn't have to bother with any of that stuff. But, of course, it was obvious.
"Something quiet. Easy." Deciding to just put any random film on, I settled down and brought her flush against me. I could hear the doctors breathing even out, telling me she was asleep. Feeling proud that she actually felt secure enough to fall asleep around me, I smiled and allowed my eyes to close. Maybe our relationship was strange, risky almost. That didn't matter, all that mattered was the here and now. Because she was my home.

by popular demand (literally 2 people lmao) i have decided to actually write the snufkin moominvalley theme song essay that i was screaming about here Â
I AM GOING TO GO THROUGH. EVERY. SINGLE. LINE.
so obviously this is snufkin just as he is leaving the valley yknow âfly away like a leaf in the windâ OH MY GOD WAIT AS I WAS TYPING THIS I JUST REALISED THIS ALSO MIGHT BE REFERING TO THE FACT THAT AUTUMN HAS JUST ENDED BECAUSE THATS WHEN WINTER STARTS AND THATS WHEN ALL THE TREES LOOSE THEIR LEAVES IT JUST GOES DEEPER THE CONSPIRACY NEVER ENDS
anyways so originally i was confused about this because why would snufkin be refering to his mother??? we dont even know if he knows who she is??? BUT THEN I REALISED IT SAYS WHEN âYOU FLY AWAYâ NOT âIâ WHICH MUST MEAN THIS IS IN THE POV OF SOMEONE WHO ISNT SNUFKIN. yes i think we all know its moomintroll and moominmama is literally refered to as just âmamaâ in the show thats pretty self explanitory.Â
im gonna be honest idk what âpaper rolls from that other placeâ means. the only thing i can think of is that maybe the âpaperâ its refering to is snufkins letters? idk?
âwhere the bluebirds singâ i just looked it up (NOT ME DOING ACTUAL RESEARCH FOR THIS FUGYUTYDF) and most bluebirds migrate south in the winter so the âwhereâ its talking about is the south.
it says âmy fantasyâ and this is in the pov of moomintroll so clearly its about something he wants. âon the coastâ means hes very close to it/getting it and âtheres a hope for a changeâ means that the thing he wants is something he specifically has to change something to get. this could be him wanting to still be with snufkin during the winter but it could also yknow. just be him being the queerest troll to ever exist TFGYYFGYUH
tbh this just reminds me of that one part of starlight (the song that plays at the very beginning of the series when moomintroll flies on a cloud with snorkmaiden)
^^^^ STARLIGHT LYRICS ^^^^ (NOT THE THEME SONG)
WAIT THIS ACTUALLY HAS WAY MORE SIMILARITIES THAN I THOUGH SGGFFGFDFG OK SO
yea im basically just stealing half this point from this video so just go to 2:39 lmao
i think we can assume the fantasy in starlight and fantasy in the opening are the same thing (its both in moomintrolls pov) and both the theme and this specifc verse are refering to how snufkin leaves every winter. so theres a lot of evidence for the fantasy simply being that snufkin stays with moomintroll during the winter or it could be the point the video was making about how the change/fantasy could be being in a romantic relationship with snufkin instead of snork maiden because yea they are pretty gay i dont think anyone is disagreeing there KJKASGGFIGAFGÂ
OK BACK TO THE THEME SONG
ok i take it back this is right after the whole âon the coast of my fantasy theres a hope for a changeâ and this sounds way more like some gay internal conflict instead of just something ambigiously platonic like wanting to be with snufkin during winter so either theory works i guess TFYGYFGYDYTFGY
STOP snufkin considers moominvalley his home im CRYING
âim far awayâ i think we can assume is about snufkin being pretty far south and because of the change in pronouns (âmyâ) so the song has now switched to snufkins pov
i had no idea what âstars in the storm meantâ originally but the offical music video literally just shows a shot of moomintroll so damn i guess snufkin just called moomintroll a fucking âSTAR in the stormâ these bitches gay good for them good for them
obviously the next part is just snufkin and moomin being gay this whole thing is just them yearning for eachother what did you expect and not even this song thats literally every song and also the entire show what did you expect
âon my way backâ is just snufkin travelling back to moomin valley and âyour doorâ surely is refering to moomintrolls âdoorâ (moominhouse) because yknow. snufkin doesnt have a house. he doesnt have a door. and also this is still snufkins pov and it specifically says âyour doorâ so it cant be something that belongs to him.
wait im SCREAMING ok so ive just realised this line is clearly a parallel to âim, im far away from my homeâ which means the âhomeâ snufkin was talking about earlier isnt just moominvalley BUT ITS ALSO SPECIFICALLY MOOMINHOUSE AND PROBALY SPECIFICALLY MOOMINTROLL im SCREAMING
to be honest im a bit lost with this second verse DFYUUYDRFUGYÂ
OK SO I WATCHED THIS VERSE IN THE MUSIC VIDEO (0:58)Â
âmamaâ as we already established is refering to moominmama which means its probably moomintrolls pov again.
in the music video âfrom the house on the hillsâ shows the moominhouse. this could just be because the music video shows loads of visuals from the normal opening sequence but it does literally talk about a âhouseâ which is âon the hillsâ so i think its pretty self explanitory.Â
âlet it shineâ could be? kind of like?? when you âshine a lightâ on something?? like revealing or realising something?? idk??? WAIT this might not make ANY SENSE but in the first line it says âtake the light from the house (moominhouse)â. so if we assume this is the same âlightâ thats being talked about and its some sort of revelation or realisation to do with moominhouse/the people (OR SOMEONE) living in it then TLDR: gay. the revelation is that he is gay for moomintroll. I rest my case. (this would then mean this verse is in snufkins pov tho and not moomintrolls???? idk this is all just theories yall im going insane ydtfuYTF)
âforeign nightâ is probably refering to the places snufkin has stayed during nights in his winter travels. mans realises hes gay during his south trip sucks to be him.
âwhen all hearts are stillâ is when the visuals of the music video fade to the first shot in the series (the one of the camera circling around moominhouse before moomintroll flies on a cloud with snorkmaiden). yea idk what this means but its probably something gay and maybe a bit angsty idk fgyUYDFGYGYF
NEVERMIND I FIGURED SOMETHING OUT ok so normally people interpret beating hearts as the person feeling romantic attraction so surely âwhen all hearts are stillâ would mean a complete lack of that. interesting how it plays this line when showing the only shot in this whole video that is (the beginning of) a snorkmaiden and moomintroll scene. interesting.
but like i guess beating hearts could also mean feeling anxiety so it could just be refering to being calm idk tfgyuTFGYUFTYDF
i would also like to mention that the scene being shown is the same scene where the song starlight would play. BACK TO THE STARLIGHT LYRICS
^^^^ STARLIGHT LYRICS ^^^^ (NOT THE THEME SONG)Â
so weve already esablished 2 different interpretations of this verse but lets just assume its refering to moomintroll yearning to be more than besties with snufkin instead of dating snorkmaiden and just essentially being queer as fuck.Â
wow no way whats this??? the line âon the clouds of my fantasyâ plays conviently while the music video shows the scene where starlight plays?? the scene which literally shows moomintroll on a âCLOUDâ??? which also conviently happens to have a song that talks about a fantasy??? wouldnt it be crazy if all these coincidences were hinting to it all being the same fantasy??? wouldnt that be crazy????Â
âweâll be pushing the stormâ wow no way that also seems familiar??
remember this lyric?? when snufkin refers to moomintroll as a âstar in the stormâ?? what a crazy coincidence???
âweâll be pushing the stormâ could more specifically mean âpushing for the stormâ so possibly pushing for some kind of conflict? maybe the ending of snorkmaiden and moomintrolls relationship if were going to assume the lyric directly before (âon the cloud of my fantasyâ) is refering to the undeniable not heterosexuality going on between moomintroll and snufkin fytfyfyuUYG
i think we all know this part is refering to snufkin coming back to the valley
and then the final part of the song is just the chorus again bUT THIS HORRIFICALLY LONG TUMBLR ESSAY IS NOT OVER YET
I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO PUT FORWARD A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEORY ABOUT THIS SECOND VERSE VGYFTYGHYFG
so alternativley this verse could be a metephor for the moominhouse acting as some sort of lighthouse for snufkin when he returns
there is a lot of talk of âlightâ coming from moominhouse in the first 3 lines. âlet it shine in a foreign nightâ weve already established that âforeign nightâ is refering to the places snufkin stays during nights in winter and if we assume the âshineâ is coming from moominhouse or moominhouse itself then this turns it into a kind of metaphor for moominhouse being a lighthouse to snufkin (something that leads him back to the valley) IF THAT MAKES LITERALLY ANY SENSE
anyways yea then snufkin is led back to the valley nice good for him
ALSO this is EXCATLY WHAT HAPPENS IN SNUFKINSÂ DREAM SEQUENCEÂ (which has an absolutely stunning title btw)
at 1:13 he sees a light coming from moominhouse (âthe light from the house on the hillsâ âlet it shine in a foreign nightâ)Â
then relaxes which means his heart rate would slow down (âhearts are stillâ)
âon the clouds of my fantasyâ this is a dream about him returning to moomintroll this is quite literally the definition of a fantasyÂ
âwell be pushing the stormâ (1:32) this is when hes reminded of his fears of being forgotten
âso ill be where i need to beâ (1:45) this is when he returns to moominhouse
then the chorus begins again
its talking about how hes âfar away from (his) homeâ again so the begining of this chorus could signal when when he wakes up from the dream and is still in the south
then the final line is him deciding to go back to moominvalley (tO sEe mOoMinTroLl aS a mAtTeR oF fAcT i rEaLlY wAnT tO sEe hIm)
