i've listened to inseong covers a lot and tbh i usually don't fall in love with his voice over the original, but when it comes to him singing on sf9 songs slap inseong on that chorus and i am on my knees
#zanna speaks ❀˖°#i think it may be the same thing with hyojin from onf#i will always prefer minkyun covers over hyojin covers#but hyojin on onf songs is just 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️#i think idols with very clear strong voices but not a lot of unique vocal colour shine so bright on their own songs#but often they don't bring too much to covers so i end up preferring the originals#like when inseong covered you were beautiful by day6 i liked it but it didn't do much for me#whereas ha hyunsang's cover of you were beautiful is one i keep going back to#because he added so much emotion and his voice is so raw he added something the original didn't have#but inseong in my story my song makes me want to jump out the fucking window cause he brings tears to my eyes#i think he's an amazing vocalist#but he just shines the most in sf9 songs#they're so catered to him i would say

K-Pop Recap Of 2023!
Tagged by @xiaojuun @jaebeomtual @onmywayv @kihyunsgf (ty beloveds 💜)
Groups You Started Stanning?: ateez, sf9 & a.c.e. I knew some ateez & sf9 music and had seen an mv or two for both, but I didn't really stan either group before 2023. ateez happened in like January tho bc I loved halazia and one of my friends kept putting them on the dash. sf9 happened after watching doom at your service (hi dawon ily). a.c.e was completely new in every way to me. I found them weeks before sehyoon was freed and realized I had heard their 5sos youngblood cover before and quickly became OBSESSED. I also started listening to purple kiss for the first time in 2023 but idk the members 🤷♀️ oh and txt was new to me (tinnitus ily) but idk that I would say I stan them perse...
New Ult Biases?: believe it or not moon taeil 🤭 he was my number one nct boy before last year but I finally accepted that he was an ult like EARLY in the year
Idol(s) Who Got The Most Of Your Simping?: baekhyun & taeil with kun coming in at a firm 3rd place 😅 taeil may have even taken top spot but who's to say
Most Streamed Group(s): according to spotify wrapped: exo, a.c.e, svt, ateez, sf9, wayv, nct 127 and red velvet
Most Streamed Soloist(s)?: baekhyun, d.o, chanyeol, kai (tell me ur and exol without telling me), woodz, b.i, dpr ian, tabber, onew
Top K-Pop Song(s) Of This Year (Opinion Or Streaming, You Choose): I'm working on creating a top ten list based off opinions so we will have to go with spotify wrapped for this one so i don't sit here and agonize over this for hours. But my top 5 streamed kpop songs *FROM 2023* (betcha by bbh made my top 5) were: 1. Hear Me Out by EXO, 2. Let Me In by EXO, 3. Somebody by D.O, 4. Circle by Onew, 5. Cream Soda by EXO. But also omy the album by wayv ily 🫶🏻
Top Debut This Year: the only debuts i even tuned in for were kiss of life & riize (ty my best friends sungtaro)
Choreographies You Learned: I don't learn choreo. I instead dance like an idiot for fun lmao
Albums/Merchandise You Bought: exo, shinee, svt, ateez, kai but no wayv bc no money 😭
New Kpop Mutuals You Made?: ummmm like 99% of my mutuals were made in 2023 so hello ily all 🫂💜
Tagging (no pressure ofc <3): @jwooyoung @sunminshine @lee-minhoe & some newer mutuals @ninqz @jsuh @nfly5 @dongkwan @talksaxy @wifehwa +anyone who sees this and wants to do it just say I tagged you!

pls do talk more about b*s and their current image (censoring because if you don’t have great things to say i don’t want you to be attacked by their crazy stans :))
i always bring this up when i talk about them but it’s really :( that they are the way they are now. like i was a fan because of their hyyh era and their songs about the troubled youth. and of course they can’t stay in that image forever (because we all grow up and it would just be v fake if they tried to continue it given their status and wealth now.) it’s just disappointing that they went down the ‘safe, disney image’ and are releasing generic mainstream pop songs people will forget after a couple listens. i’m no longer a fan of them now but yuh.
also not to mention how they essentially made kpop boring for me now lol i wish companies had fun with their music selections instead of aiming for whatever b*s has. like we will never get a group like orange caramel again (i know wjsn chocome’s concept was similar but it just didn’t feel the same. you talked about it before and i wholeheartedly agree with ur points.)
thank you for the consideration of censoring the name but honestly i'm not that worried about it. i do however find the increasingly creative ways people censor it to be extremely hilarious so keep it up if you would like.
i addressed most of the first part of your ask in the second part of my response here, this is now the third installment in a series, somehow. (the first part is here).
not to level this at you in specific anon, because i know a lot of people share this sentiment of kpop being 'boring' now, and while there is an element of this that is influenced by bts, and although it is true we aren't getting the same level of wild that produced orange caramel, there is actually interesting and kinda weird stuff happening in kpop; it's just not by the groups that are getting the most attention. dreamcatcher has been out here doing horror rock since their debut in 2017. onf has put out two excellent summer pop tracks with fun and stupid genre mvs. i love this recent ghost9 track. i'm obsessed with the instrumental in the chorus of bdc's moon walker. just b debuted last month with a strange bang yongguk track and a very 2013 feeling mv. here's another weird and fun boy group debut, blitzers. a.c.e have put out favourite boys, the fave boyz remix, down, and higher as their last four releases which all have the most coherent and well designed concepts in the last year. and while i'm at it i might as well include take me higher and undercover. oneus put out a mad max themed performance video randomly for no reason like three weeks ago. the rest of the industry were cowards for not following up on to be or not to be with a shakespeare comeback wave. rip onlyoneof but they gave us a whole three week comeback of dick grabs. hanya brought my attention to this weird as shit debut track from a group that has now totally disappeared. knk's sunset exists. we moved on way too fast from the mv because taeyang was being cunty on music shows but sf9's teardrop has probably some of the most interesting shots in a kpop mv in the last several years. and we definitely moved on too fast from my favourite just some guy and goofy movie character woodz's feel like.
i think it's pretty fatalistic to view bts as having singlehandedly made the industry boring because honestly......i don't think they have. if you want to talk about the downturn to plainclothes styling....well that's shinee's fault. and the general trend to less dramatic fashion and visual tastes is not exclusive to the kpop industry, it's been a whole cultural trend. the mid to late 2010s were the rise of 'normcore' and we haven't burst the bubble yet. bts is just reflecting trends happening in the wider world, and in particular the western one. for the most viewed kpop mv of 2020 dynamite did....what exactly? it didn't really spawn any significant copycats in terms of sound or aesthetics, with the exception of maybe superm's we do if you look at it a bit sideways. although this is one of bts' better styled mvs, 70s retro did not make any resurgence in kpop styling, EXCEPT in magazine and fashion shoots, which it was already doing in the west. taemin's criminal was significantly more influential; i can think of at least three different male soloist mvs that borrowed heavily from it. honestly i think stylists and groups are trying to steer as clear as possible of whatever aesthetics bts uses, lest they accidentally doom themselves to a (perceived) slighted fanbase. plus, there's been a pretty sizable resurgence in contemporary hanbok styling, so even though there is a lot more outward attention going to things like international promotions for other groups and whatever the hell sm keeps trying to do with nct, i think a fair amount of companies are interested in maintaining the koreanness of kpop while facilitating broader global access.
and honestly, bigger acts have also put out interesting things in the last year. we did all see taemin's back to back release roster for ngda right? criminal? idea???? advice???????? fuck, chocolate was barely a year ago. whatever your opinions on yunho are, thank u is fucking brilliant mv. sunmi's tail. lie to me and tell me the mv for you can't sit with us isn't fun as fuck. i dunno what the hell the new nct127 song is gonna be like but the teaser photos and mood sampler are weird as hell and i'm absolutely interested. he's only kpop adjacent at the moment but jackson's 100 ways and lmly are really sharply produced low budget mvs with clean and interesting visuals. maniac shot to the top of my most listened immediately after it dropped because lia kim AND those slick horns in the instrumental???? ten's paint me naked was not at all what i was expecting but it's still fun as hell and has a pretty unique aesthetic.
the tldr of this whole three parter is this: bts has always been reactionary to wider cultural trends and that's been how they've made it this far. yes their influence on the industry looms very large because of the predominence of them on the scene, but it's mostly in the perception of kpop rather than in the artistry of it.
i don't think any company is going to be able to achieve what bts and hybe have, which i think is fine. they're the scale tipped too far. hopefully by now most companies have probably noticed that they don't need to cater to the western market so hard, and that it's probably not a good idea to offer their artists up on the racist chopping block of the western pop scene. you can market to an international fanbase without trying to gun for a grammy or for billboard or whatever. creating interesting art should be at the fore, not numbers goals. but we're just gonna have to wait and see what happens in the next year or so.
#now if youll excuse me im going to go listen to the mixnine love in the ice stage again for the 524th time#because i have FEELINGS and today has been a LOT#i dont know that im necessarily saying anything that other people havent said before but yea#there is definitely a saturation in the market but i really dont think you can blame that on bts#there are many other groups that have proved the industry is heavily profitable#it is very reasonable that there is a glut. finding the gold may require a bit more sifting but it's still there#honestly watching the music shows is the best and easiest way to keep engaged and finding new stuff#you dont even have to watch the whole show. you can just watch the stages#that's what i do in the morning. like reading the newspaper lmao#i will answer more questions about bts if people have them but i will try not to make them this long because this is just unreasonable#875#kpop questions#kpop analysis#group analysis#text#answers

This song has been basically stuck on repeat for the past 35 hours, and I haven’t listened to it because i know what was gonna happen, and then a few hours ago i decided to listen it and I completely bursted into tears.
I think this was what i needed to let it all out, to just cry and let out my feelings and emotions and just…
For those that don’t follow my writing blog, i think i might have enough energy today to explain it here, it still feels… like it isn’t true, but my father has passed away yesterday, most likely Wednesday night, in his sleep and its just been a rollercoaster of emotions, there are phases where I’m tearing up then phases when I’m okay, and I finally had a moment to cry it out when i started listening to that song.
I’m gonna miss him, I’m gonna miss when he turns the television on at 1am in the morning, but I’m also happy that his pain and his suffering has come to an end, even if its gonna hurt for a really long time, I’m happy he is no longer suffering.
If anyone was wondering why i wasn’t popping up on their dash. I may start appearing a little from tomorrow or even later

are there any photos of your ults that you find yourself thinking about a lot?
are there???????
which artist/s do you feel you can see yourself in?
uhhhhh idk myself well enough to answer this question, so hmmm. maybe mk from onf? just bc sometimes he’s just chillin in the background with absolutely zero thoughts goin on in his head, other times he likes to be the center of attention causing chaos, he is very serious when it comes to work and his passion for music. can sometimes alienate himself from the rest of the group by being on a completely different wavelength. idk really. that feels like it fits.
who's rapping do you always find yourself vibing with?
not that many people fit this tbh, but i’d say mark (nct), yoshi (treasure), and hanse (victon). and honestly i don’t always vibe to them bc sometimes rap just feels unnecessary in certain songs, but they are the rappers i enjoy the most consistently
are there any artists who's talking voice you could listen to forever?
hyojin (onf), jacob (tbz), renjun (nct), heejin (loona)
is there someone who always manages to give you gender envy?
oh for sure. miya from gwsn. she’s the kind of androgynous i aim for but constantly miss.
and finally, what idol do you think the person who tagged you is most like?
ooh i’m gonna say j-us from onf on this one. bc erin is playful and likes to joke around with her mutuals and followers, is constantly making new connections with her friendly nature, but can also get serious when it matters and is super driven (hello nursing school!!!), and also a super talented person who deserves the world☺️☺️ (also sorry ik u don’t really know onf but it fit)
tagging: @lineegrace / @anyhao / @minhyukmagritte (but totally no pressure as always!)
#this got long#but it was super fun to do#thanks for tagging me erin!#if you listen to the songs i recommended pls let me know what you think!!:))#hi erin☂️#tag games

Okay so I just watched the 4th episode of Kingdom so here are my thoughts:
Before I start, I’m not trying to be rude or anything,, these are just my opinions so try not to take them too seriously kabdksbs and if you disagree with me that’s okay😅 and feel free to send in some asks and stuff so we can talk not argue about it
Okay so there was SF9, The boyz, and Ikon. I actually really liked all the performances so lemme just talk about them
SF9- I feel like SF9 did a 180 and this performance was really good. I agree with what was said in the professional evaluation,, that their previous performance was chaotic and kinda all over the place but this performance of The Stealer was really good. I know I kinda talked about how the two previous performances felt like there were hardly any actual live vocals but this performance I feel like I didn’t have to strain to try and find them. I don’t know names so imma do my best with descriptions bdhdjs so the high note towards the end in that yellow room was really nice and I could hear the vocals along with several of the rapping bits along with the part at the end where there were like a triangle of 3 members and the one in the middle sounded really nice akdhjs yes yes.. I have great descriptions,, y’all know exactly who I’m talking about akdbsj so yeah I think as someone who isn’t a SF9 stan, it would make me want to look them up and find out more about them.
The Boyz- see idk??? It was good but I also feel like it wasn’t the most memorable?? Like I said I just finished watching it and I don’t remember too much about the performance as a whole. I didn’t really like the song?? Idk that’s just a me thing since I’m not the biggest fan of SF9 and only like one or two of their songs so😅 but I mean the backup dancers looked so beautiful in their like red tango type dresses. I didn’t really get the significance of the cage but it probably just brushed over my head??? The vocals were also good though. I heard vocals which is always a plus😭😭 Sunwoo’s rap was really good and the choreography was really nice with that like... staff thing? Is that was it is? Idk something like that and it was unfortunate that it didn’t catch on fire like it was supposed to. Anyways I did like the overall performance but personally if that was the first time setting them, I would probably like make a mental note to look them up later.
Ikon- OH PLEASE- it was so fucking good. That’s it. Period. That’s all that needs to be said. First of all the set was so fucking cool and I think they were able to perfectly rearrange inception in a way that had my jaw dropped. No joke I looked like this the whole time:😲 their vocals were able to shine through perfectly and ugh it sounded so good with that changed and then bOBBYS FUCKING RAP ugh that shit was so *chefs kiss* I rewinded it and listened to it like 4 times. I love him sm and he’s such a good rapper like😩 and he looks like he’s having so much fun and it makes me smile so much- like that man is made to be on stage- aND THEN THAT DANCE BREAK?!?! god damn. It was so good and my jaw dropped even further and I couldn’t take my eyes away from the screen. As an atiny I’m so unbelievably happy with the way they were able to rearrange Inception and anyone who says otherwise is simply incorrect. Anyways if I didn’t know who ikon was,, I would probably Rewatch that performance a couple more times then immediately look them up.
Anyways yeah AGDJHS that’s it. Those are my opinions no one get mad😭

KIMDOM REVIEW draft Round 2: REBORN
This is for ep 4 and 5 draft for my review
1. SF9 - I appreciate the music a lot in this round. This stage made me forget their past performances, its that good. They exceeded their own past stage and its really good! It was a well choreographed stage and the little gaps like before the intro where they suddenly fight was sort of awkward but it was good all through out. There were stand out vocals and raps, they really have unique voices and soothing ones that is quite good to listen to. I love that they made the arrangement suit their style. I see SF9 from intro and r1. They have a really charismatic voice that does not need to over react. Its the right amount of tense that is very beautiful to watch. The REBORN was there because they showed SF9 very well.
The Boyz - I feel sorry for them since the music did not balance with their ability and concept. The concept was majestic, the choreography was really good and they danced so well ( we know that since Intro stage), but I dont understand their music and concept that does not balance well... and their ability as singers did not shine through. I hope they make a good show of their musicality and not just their dance and concepts.
iKON - it was genius! The catchy and witty stage of iKON surprises me everytime. They balance their stage and their music. They upgraded their stage props like the others but it remained as props and I can remember well the entirety of the stage. It amazes me how well they made the concept like the movie inception. The music as well gave a good quality that you can listen to it well with ease. It perfectly fits the REBORN stage. It showed well their identity from a viewer who only knew them in KINGDOM. They are probably one of the groups who dont have a gory concept but still slays very cool. I certainly love the dorara pengi it rings in the ear a lot. I like that they Reborn the song that is totally iKON but at the same time you cant compare it to the original since it feels like a different song. its not a cover song that was made, they totally re-birthed it into a new one. ( I looked on the songs and listened to it)
Ateez - It was a great stage! However, I can feel the iKON in their music. I felt like they did not go all out with showing who they are with the REBORN stage. If this is an ordinary tribute stage for iKON, it definitely fits but for the concept of reborn, I am not sure. In some parts I see Ateez there but in most parts, I see iKON. I know this is the song from the intro stage but somehow I felt like Ateez was hesitant to show their full potential. Another thing is they made a speech like part again which I hope they just throw the words in full to the other Side well. ITs good but it could've been better. Like, that guy could have gone all out in that speech with power to match the performance energy of their introduction. Is this their usual thing? They did it on the first round too right? Then the high notes. Its similar to what he did in the first round too. I just feel frustrated that they have this amount of talent but they recycle the idea but its not bad too since they are really good.
BTOB - The stage I have been waiting for from BTOB. In Intro stage and Round1 it seems expected based from the interview and clips in the episode especially they re known as a ballad group who sings well. In this stage, they made a rock version that totally is BTOB but is another kind of BTOB, in my opinion. I honestly searched for the songs for this round and compared, it is Stray Kids' Back Door but it is totally BTOB. It sounded even better than the original. They gave a great new look for the song and they did a great job. I can let go of the little nuances like a really long minute before the actual intro coz its really great.
Stray Kids - It was a clear and great concept but to be very very honest, I was disappointed because they seem to have not gone all out for it. Its like a song tribute for BTOB made by Stray Kids. Its not bad but the round 2 theme is reborn. I expected a lot because they are a group with a lot of ideas for music and concept but... did they shy out because its they senior? or they are friends with them? They are good but they should surpass that good right? I also listened to the original song and BTOB is just divine with vocals. Stray Kids can sing but I dont think its their forte, its not their identity. I remember them saying that they want to do Stray Kids and watching their Round 2 performance made me realize that they somehow lost the identity preparing for the stage. It was a good performance but its not them, its not fitting to the theme. I dont know if they felt pressured with other teams high notes but Stray Kids should stick with Stray Kids music. If the assignment is to make another team's song to be reborn as stray kids song they should have made it as a stray kids song. This is how frustrated I am with them. They have talent but I dont know why it does not work. I have a feeling they are getting really competitive and forgot to show the stage of who they are. Despite the fact they did a good job, the entire song did not scream Stray Kids a lot and that saddens me as a very invested viewer in Kingdom. I really want everyone to show their own uniqueness.
If I rank:
1. iKON - they took the risk and showed who they are as a team, the whole stage was really really great, its the best I have seen of them. I can still remember that dorara pengi in my ears it kept ringing. The music and stage was absolute genius.
2. BTOB - they really showed a new surprise for me that even with a little gaps in between, its fine. They are second because the music had quite a lot of stops but the vocals really are divine. I actually love the intro until the drinking of water but it was almost a minute long before they start performing... that's why they are second.
3. Ateez - The stage is good but I am half and half since they did not go all out there. Its a shame not to see them go wild like their Intro stage and their Round 1 in terms of music. I really expected a lot from them in terms of music but I think they did well showing their identity that it is just inevitable not to see iKON in the song and the vibe of it. The concept was cool, though.
4. SF9 - Except for a few awkward moments, everything was great. I like their version a lot. It just did not have the same impact in the part of "im a stealer errrr errrr" of the boyz in intro stage but everything else is good! The whole gangster concept and the rap and vocals really shine.
5. Stray Kids - They are good, the concept is great but the music is not well arranged to have a feeling of Stray Kids. Also, it sounded good when they harmonized but its not great. I dont want to believe that they dont have impactful vocals but rather they made a wrong arrangement to make it more captivating. Lets see if next round we see Stray Kids identity in the song, it just was not connecting with me.
6. The boyz - they are great dancers but their music is not arranged well. Also, they have not stood out in terms of vocals and rap. The show is progressing but I think they are stuck at one place of performance. Everyone is really amazing and The Boyz seems really pressured. I want to blame the production team handling them because they dont make they a really good arrangement. They are really good performers but its just not it.

KINGDOM | 04
It’s been a long time, guys. The only performances this week that I’m going to rank are the one where the groups worked together, for the other performances I don’t think I can. So let’s start
Part 1
RAP BATTLE
Both groups here did very well, it’s actually hard to pick one. For this my favorite was team mayfly, just because I thought that visually their stage was more appealing, as well as their synergy. I know that a lot of people are sort of angry that It’s One team didn’t won, specially because Bobby won SMTM but here’s the thing and I know a lot of people might not agree with me. Bobby won SMTM on his own, that’s is not to say that Sunwoo and Huiyoung are bad rappers, what I’m trying to say is that different people bring different things to a performance.
DANCE BATTLE
Being honest none of these were favorites of mine, both for different reasons. I don’t know what I was expecting for this one but what I saw wasn’t it. I’d say that It’s One was my favorite for two reasons 1- I really enjoy the traditional concept they went for; 2- their choreography was entirely new while mayfly team did use some of exo’s original choreography during their performance.
VOCAL BATTLE
I can’t choose, okay? Not for this one. Everyone was great, did their best. The songs had very different vibes from each other. It’s One team had the unexpected good mix of June’s and New’s vocals, it sucks that Inseong made a mistake during his high note but it doesn’t take anything away from the song. Team Mayfly just touched my heart, love poem is not actually a song that I like, but their version was amazing.
PART 2
Now to the group performances. They will be mentioned in the other they were performed, I think (I’m following mnet’s uploading order)
iKon: it was a very like iKON performance, vocals were live and great. As usual I loved June’s vocals. My problem was Lisa, to be honest. I wanted them to have some sort of interaction, which they didn’t have. It felt like she was there to grab some views and votes maybe. One of my friends said that maybe they didn’t interact because of covid, I can’t say for sure. The one thing I didn’t really like was the chorus.
Stray Kids: the same with iKon, a very stray kids like performance. My true issue with it was the chorus, for some reason I didn’t like it. I don’t have a whole lot to say about it, sorry
BTOB: I loved this, so much. I don’t know the song but I loved everything about it. Their concept was really cool. They did have interaction with Miyeon but she didn’t sing, I’m confused. I’ll say that it was amazing, I loved it, would like to download the song.
SF9: I’ll be honest and say that I thought this performance wouldn’t work, I feel like Taemin is a very hard artist to cover, specially move and everything he has released since then. But this surprised me, I loved it so much, I have no words. The first place they got was deserved
Ateez: I was surprised that while others decided to make covers they went for one of their own songs, not bad surprised. It was a very dramatic ateez kind of performance, I wish mnet would have kept the opera singers as a surprise then it would have been a bigger impact, I feel like. All in all, it was good.
The Boyz: at this point everyone already thinks I’m a bitch and I’m sorry. For this performance I focused more on their dancing and the visuals they were presenting (such as the snake). I usually have a problem when people cover my favorite songs and monster is the song that made me like kpop in the first place, so I would like to apologize for this, this is not a problem with the boyz, is a problem with any group that has covered exo (except cheetah, she was amazing). With that said, I liked it. The boyz shines the most when they are dancing in group and they show their perfect synchronization, the snake part and how sunwoo was inside and then he was rapping was really cool to watch.
I’m curious as to how the finale will be. I was under the impression that only four groups would be able to perform but it turns out that all groups are performing which is great. I also wonder how the boyz, sf9 and ikon will perform since apparently their main dancers will be out of the game because they were had contact with people who were infected with covid . The boyz seem to have an even bigger issue, since younghoon (who was already out during this round) and hakneyon will be out of the performance, or at least performing while sitting. It also makes me question what kind od stunt the boyz were trying to pull.
I’ll see you guys next week. Thankfully is the final.

Questions for the 🎶 The Ultimate Music Ask Game! 🎶: 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 25, 29, 30, 32, 37, 40, 47, 48, 49, 51, 53, 57 ->💚, 58 -> Pentagon - Do or Not + OOO - Libido (I know you love this song :D), 61 -> ViXX vs. Ateez + OOO vs. Oh my Girl, 63, 65 pretty please🥰
Thank you very much! 🥰
4. Is there a song you love but don't like its music video?
Pentagon - Do or Not
5. Is there a song you don't like but like its music video?
Chungha - Stay Tonight, Bicycle
Dreamcatcher - Piri
6. Who's an artist you really like but it's embarrassed to admit it?
I don’t think there is one. I am just embarrassed to admit that I used to like BTS (until Fake Love). xDD
8. Is there an artist or song that you like, despite being of a genre you don't usually like?
Yes, I usually don't like Hip-Hop, Rap and everything around it, but I actually like some songs by pH-1 and Sik-K.
9. Do you have a favorite band?
Not anymore. I still love The GazettE, but I don't consider them to be my favorite band. Aside I also like Bursters, Purple Rain, N.Flying, Red Hot Chili Peppers and older disbanded bands like ScReW, アンド AND -Eccentric Agent- and MEJIBRAY.
10. Favorite solo artist?
Jeong Eunji is technically not a solo artist, but I still love her solo work.
Robin Gibb is also an artist of who I love the solo work, even though he was technically also not a solo artist.
12. Who’s the most obscure artist you listen to?
Dir En Grey
13. Who’s the most popular/mainstream artist you listen to?
ATEEZ or TXT, don't know who is more popular
25. Is there a song you used to like but can’t listen to anymore because you associate it with someone you don’t like?
No, not anymore. I couldn't listen to DuelJewel for a while because the friendship with the person who introduced them to me ended bad. But not anymore. I usually don't try to associate songs with people, especially not songs I love because sooner or late someone will try to ruin it for you.
29. Songs you love to dance to:
U-KISS - Neverland
BTOB - 신바람
Oh My Girl - Dun Dun Dance
Twice - Alcohol-Free
30. Songs you love to sing along to:
Bee Gees - Closer Than Close, Alone, For Whom The Bell Tolls, You Win Again, Rings Around The Moon
Robin Gibb - Another Lonely Night In New York, Juliet (I don't hit one single note), Boys Do Fall In Love
Sandra - Little Girl, Hiroshima, Heaven Can Wait, In The Heat Of The Night, Secret Land, Midnight Man
Heart - These Dreams, Alone
a-ha - The Sun Always Shines On T.V., Take On Me
Alphaville - Sounds Like A Melody, Big In Japan, Dance With Me

B.I - illa illa
BTOB - 신바람
DKB - Still
MAMAMOO - gogobebe
NATURE - Girls
OnlyOneOf - Libido
Pentagon - Do or Not
TWICE - Alcohol-Free, Cry For Me, Hell in Heaven
TXT - 0X1 = Lovesong (I Know I Love You)
I think that's enough. xDD
32. When was the last time you cried when listening to a song, if ever?
I shed some tears while listening to B.I - illa illa, but the last time I really cried was when I listened to Jeong Eunji's 'AWay'.
37. If you could travel in time and go to a concert of an artist who’s no longer alive or a band that’s no longer together, who would you choose?
My biggest priority would be to go back to see the Bee Gees live once. Best would be their concert in Las Vegas 1997, the played so many great songs there. ♥
I also would like to see disbanded groups like アンド AND -Eccentric Agent-, ScReW and MEJIBRAY.
40. Which was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I have to take out the organization of nearly every concert because it was so awful that it damaged my mood before the concert even started. But I am still not sure if I enjoyed Pentagon, GOT7 or SF9 more, but yeah one of them.
47. Is there an artist you used to dislike but learned to like because of a friend’s influence?
Not particulary dislike, but I wasn't and still ain't much of a fan when it comes to hip-hop, but thanks to you I at least like some songs of artists like pH-1 or Sik-K.
48. Who’s an artist you think it’s criminally underrated and deserves more recognition?
To name a few: LABOUM, OnlyOneOf, Purple Rain, Shaun, Cross Gene, DKB, NATURE, NOIR
49. Is there a cover you like more than the original version?
Heart - Alone (Orginial song by i-Ten)
51. Is there an artist you used to love as a child/teenager and still likes, even if you don’t listen to them as much?
Owl City
53. Is there a song you hated the first time you listened to but then loved after listening to it more times?
There a plenty of songs I used to hate but I don’t love any of them. I either tolerate them, consider them alright or just like them.
57. [Send me a color and I'll tell you the first song it reminded me of.]
->💚 YooA - Bon Voyage (I don’t know why, maybe because there is so much nature in the MV); Pentagon - Naughty Boy
58. [Send me a song and I'll tell you the colors it made me think of, without looking at cover arts or music videos.] *Bonus: if you like making palettes, make one based on the song! -> Pentagon - Do or Not + OOO - Libido (I know you love this song :D)
Pentagon - Do or Not -> makes me think of rose, pink and red colors
OnlyOneOf - Libido -> makes me think of black, white and blue (you are lucky I know who you mean with OOO xDD)
61. [Make me choose between two artists/songs/albums.] -> VIXX vs. Ateez + OOO vs. Oh my Girl
VIXX vs. ATEEZ -> If you would have asked me 2 years ago I definitely would have said VIXX and even though I love VIXX and they’ll always have a special place in my heart, there is no VIXX without Hongbin for me, so I say ATEEZ.
OnlyOneOf vs. Oh My Girl -> That’s mean. Basically super cool vs. super cute, but I take OnlyOneOf.
63. Do you prefer live recordings or studio recordings?
Live recordings sure have their own charm. To see how the artists performs live and if they sound like on the CDs, but I prefer studio recordings due to clean sound of the music.
65. Are there any songs you know the entire lyrics by heart?
Bee Gees - Closer Than Close, You Win Again, Alone, For Whom The Bell Tolls
Sandra - In The Heat Of The Night, Little Girl
a-ha - The Sun Always Shines On T.V.
Alphaville - Big In Japan
Robin Gibb - Another Lonely Night In New York, Boys Do Fall In Love
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
Nature - Girls
Heart - Alone

MY BELOVEDS
do i already stan them? yes | only for the music | attempting to | no
my bias + bias wrecker: at this point just the entire group i swear i'm going insane (formerly inseong/youngbin/taeyang & hwiyoung as the wrecker)
first time i heard of them: when they were debuting <3
when i became a fan: long story... ive heard fanfare when it came out and then (since ptg debuted around the same time) i kept going back nd forth between those two groups in a very weird 'which one will i stan' kinda thing and. now i still don't know when i actually got so into sf9 like . when did this happen . i do not know
favorite (and least favorite) title track: does so beautiful count bc then that's my least fave. and fave mmm.... roar / now or never / enough / easy love are like . tied but also shine together my beloved i love her sm
favorite (and least favorite) b-side: THERES SO MANY I CANNOT- love no.5 maybe, she's insane... but also i'm in love with like 9238748239 other songs of theirs like i'm not joking like... round and round... play hard.... fall in love.... my story my song..... fire....... forever...... ECHO I LOVE ECHO........ im also in love with intro 00:00 (poem)....... midnight road..... go back in time....the entirety of sensuous.... (least fav probably together, i can't remember what it sounds like)
favorite (and least favorite) mv: good guy . this mv was catered to me specifically. (+ summer breeze & shine together) (also something about o sole mio was kinda rlly nice too...) least fav rpm or mamma mia!
favorite (and least favorite) album: sensuous my beloved <3 (but also narcissus) (but also first collection was amazing just . more likely for my opinions on the songs to vary since it was a full album). least fav mamma mia?
a concept i wished they’d try: they're doing amazing pls keep on doing ur thing sf9 u're doing great and i lov u <3 (but also im gonna impersonate iri nd say. smth like....flowery maybe..)
what i like most about them: they...them...just...they u know....it started w me being obsessed w taeyang (as one does) bc he is Insane nd then they slowly dragged me in and i fell for all of them one by one (its quite funny actually bc its documented in my chat history w my best friend im sure she had a Time watching me just slowly lose it). not only are they all Visuals ,, insane ,, but also theyre very entertaining like ?? i want more content... please... i need it for my sanity... also all of their solo activities?? they.....plus theyre rlly nice to watch on stage and their songs...THEIR SONGS VEN THEIR SONGS.......i clearly remember spending like a full few months just looping their discography nd i think they ended up as my most played artists on spotify for like 2 years?? or that other time i felt rlly?? idk bad and i ended up just sitting there nd replaying their music again nd guess what . i felt a bit better suddenly . THEIR VOICES ARE SO PRETTY TOO?? like... yeah... no listen i love them....i dont talk abt them that often here but i think i would follow them off a cliff if i had to
#im sorry i stopped myself in that last part bc i couldve kept going nd i wouldve made no sense but im . i love them .#im still not entirely sure why but i actually cried when i first saw the good guy mv (nd shine together i cried like the first 4 times but#that's more understandable)#sf9's one of these groups like . i have quite a few but . groups that i dont realize just . how much i like until u get me started#nd then im sitting there for half an hour trying to comprehend since when im so attached#also sorry i went to binge all sf9 mvs .#nd i guess enough nd roar nd fanfare dont have much going for them but like im weirdly attached to them okay#the things i feel when i see that red carpeted floor....#millie's rep#ultimate catboy#thank u venvenven <//3 ilu

My Favorite Kpop Songs of 2020
Well. I wanted to make this yearly thing. 😅 But strangely, in the midst of a global lockdown, I haven’t really had time to dedicate to sorting my favorite Kpop releases. Additionally, I barely explored outside of SM this year. And when I did, most of the time I didn’t like the type of sound that was the ‘trend,’ even from the groups I’m usually happy to check out.
So outside of a very obvious 1st place that snatched me HARD as soon as it came out, this will mostly be a non-ranked top 20 list of favorite Kpop songs of 2020, comprised of 85% SM. 😳
I don’t *intend* to talk a lot, but feel free to scroll by if this isn’t the sort of thing that interests you; no offense taken. ☺️ And even though this will be a list of ‘bops,’ some of my favorite people put out some gorgeous and ineliminable ballads, so those will just be listed above the rest of the list. Okay, LET’S GO! (PS - Please excuse the sloppy formatting.)
Ballads
Dreaming by Kyuhyun
Let’s Love by Suho (A splendid Freshman album from our bunny leader! ❤️)
When We Were Us by Super Junior-K.R.Y (Vocal Supremacy of Kpop. Fight. Me.)
Hello by Chen
Stand By You by A.C.E
And if I may, two Honorable Mentions before I properly start this thing:
On Me, by Sehun. Because I love this song in its shortened form. Sehun deserved his chance to shine.
Lit, by Lay. Because even though I don’t care for the song, I would be remiss if I didn’t say SOMETHING about his incredible MV! 🤩
Now, for the actual Top 20. A reminder, these aren’t definitively ranked; at least beyond their given bracket.
20 - 11
90’s Love by NCT U
Mmmh by Kai It’s complicated
B.A.D by Super Junior D&E
Make a Wish (Birthday Song) by NCT U
Home;Run by Seventeen
Telephone by EXO-SC
Reason by KAI
Goblin (Favorite Boys) by A.C.E
Good Guy by SF9
Poppin by Baekhyun
10 - 2
2YA2YAO by Super Junior (Welcome Back Kings!)
Turn Back Time by WayV (A lot of the aesthetics in this mv are JUST my cup of tea! 😍)
Kick It by NCT 127 (It won me over. Still not over Yuta’s hair btw.)
One (Monster & Infinity) by SuperM (A curious blend of songs, and a killer joint high note!)
Criminal by Taemin (Not only is Taemin doing what he does best, he’s offering hints of BDSM while he does it)
100 by SuperM (It was like Jopping 2.0; more hype, more polish!)
1 Billion Views by EXO-SC Feat. MOON (*CRIMINALLY* Underrated song from 2020!!! Our boys deserve so much more love for this!)
Ridin’ by NCT Dream (This was one repeat for quite a while.)
Candy by Baekhyun (This song was fantastic, and absurdly catchy!)
And finally, my favorite Kpop song of 2020:
#1
Tiger Inside by SuperM
This is one of the only songs released this year that hit me right away, to where I had to listen to it again and again! I love the rhythm, the structure, and that super melodic (catchy) chorus! The mv is awesome; exo-l’s can surely appreciate the resemblance to Wolf in the opening. And the boys look and sound great! (You just barely escaped a Tony the Tiger pun; you’re welcome!) This one is still a go-to listen, all these months later. Love it. ❤️

SF9?
I swear on god I predicted someone would send me sf9 I'm a clairvoyant guys
send me a kpop group and I'll let you know if I stan!
do i already stan them?
yes | only for the music | attempting to (ish) | no
I'm going to go ahead and answer the questions for I've never heard of them like I did for shinee, just bc I kinda know them but not really their music
first song youtube took me to: summer breeze
rate it from: absolute trash | not my thing | it’s,, decent,, | need a couple more listens to judge | pretty groovy | okay but i like this a lot | hearted, saved, added to my bops playlist | ABSOLUTE SOTY
first impressions: yo what the fuck? I click on summer breeze expecting like fun summer beach stuff kinda like ateez wave but then I get gangster/mafia type shit withe them in suits and/or Hawaiian shirts?????? what is HAPPENING???? AND WHY ARE THEY PULLING IT OFF??????????????
who stuck out to me (ex. the member with _ hair, etc.): ngl none of them stood out like..... super a lot I guess because I recognize most of them and was focused a lot on putting names to faces (I think the only ones I don't really recognize at this point are rowoon and zuho maybe) but hwiyoung has always stood out to me since I started watching kingdom and imitation. idk he's really handsome
if i’ll watch more of them or not: I think I kinda have to??? what other bops have been hidden from me wtf?? but I'm also wary of stanning new groups because I've become..... way too multifandom for my brain to handle over the past few months so I need some time to process my ateez fixation before I go on and stan another group lmao

some thoughts and questions:
about kingdom - seeing peniel join the mix of ateez and skz was odd for me lol that threw me entirely off and i think is the large reason why i’m personally not a big fan of it. i watch peniel’s stuff outside of kingdom and he’s just a v chill dude overall; even in btob’s performances, he’s not a big standout and is there and does his job. whereas for ateez and skz (i don’t watch skz enough but this is based on the kingdom content), their energies match very well with each other in terms of performance. ateez definitely wins in stage presence compared to skz but their sounds and dance compete, if that makes sense. what did you think of peniel in this performance (aside from the krumping mentioned in your long review, if you have any more thoughts)?
i also think wolf is such a bold song choice. it’s one of the sm staples - really only sm groups can pull off these songs and concepts because it was designed literally for them. e.g. snsd i got a boy, rv rookie, fx/tvxq/ nct songs. there’s a uniqueness to them that can’t be replicated imo. if a non-sm group is going to cover it, it’s almost always a fail (or is missing v important components to the song/performance that it lacks in comparison).
also, what do you think of the stages overall? like, in terms of variation. there’s nothing wrong with serious, dark, and/or thematic performances. but i feel like all of the groups are sticking to it because it makes their stages ‘valid’. if that makes sense. to simplify it, i wish groups did more ‘bright and fun’ concepts and played around more. ikon and btob are groups that do this but for these kingdom stages i don’t get the same energy.
about kpop in general - in your review of the recent kingdom ep, you mentioned that you can only think of 2-3 groups where most of (or all) members of the group have great stage presence. what groups do you think have this quality? off the top of my head, i think of shinee and seventeen. every time they perform, each member makes themselves known and carry their part. even for a large group like seventeen and some members get only like 3-5 seconds of screen time. when a member is missing it’s painfully obvious too.
this is so long and thoughtful, thank you! i’ll try to answer everything but if i miss something just let me know! i’m putting it under a cut because long.
ok to start: peniel. i agree, there is quite a bit of dissonance having him in with a group that’s comprised of 98-01 liners, and especially because he does have a very laid back personality. i do think he stepped it up pretty well in the stage, even if his energy wasn’t a perfect match. and he clearly did put on a different performance than he usually would, if eunkwang and minhyuk’s incoherent and hilarious screaming at the end of the stage was any indication. it was a smart choice to position him as the ‘alpha’ wolf of the stage. when there’s that large a gap of performing experience with idols, no matter what you do, it's going to show. even if he wasn’t a chill guy, his stage presence is just gonna be different. same thing with minhyuk in the rap stage. i know having a low member number puts them at a bit of a disadvantage, but btob (and subsequently ateez and skz) actually kinda lucked out in that regard for this stage. say for example, the full group was competing and they sent multiple members to the performance unit like the other two groups did. because ateez and skz are the same age and have relatively compatible performance styles, they can make a cohesive unit, but now you have multiple performers who have an incompatible style and will stand out from that group. how do you thematically bridge that gap within the performance itself? when you only have one unhammered nail, you can capitalize on that nail being unhammered. hence making peniel the alpha wolf, or making minhyuk the ‘boss’ at the end of the rap stage. there just isn’t enough time with this show to actually do the rehearsal to make a truly cohesive unit, so the best thing to do is highlight the difference.
my position on covers is that it's futile to try and match the original perfectly, so match the energy but make it your own. one of my all time favourite covers is kings of leon’s dancing on my own. yes, the robyn song. also the 1975’s cover of thank u, next. rtk features a few stages that i think got the right idea, with pentagon’s follow and their collab with onf for kill this love. sm songs are tough for this for though because yea, they are pretty tailored to their groups, and the groups themselves have very unique signatures and theyre often so famous that it's hard to separate them from their contexts enough to pull off a more abstract cover.
honestly the variety of themes hasn’t been the worst? obviously i’m a person who likes narrative and thematic elements though so i'm going to be a little more biased towards those types of stages. i think people keep using the term ‘dark’ to describe any concept that’s vaguely thematic and has moody lighting. i wouldn’t describe any of btob’s stages as dark, or ikon’s, and i wouldn’t describe ateez’s wonderland stage as dark either. i do want to see more variation in aesthetics, especially in the costumes. really only ateez and btob have got this one down; you can tell the group’s style and that it's the same designers/stylists, but there’s been enough variety that none of their looks have felt the same. tbz and sf9 have only worn embellished suits so far, ikon has not made much effort with their costumes all, and skz have just been alternating one stage black one stage white in like, exactly the same outfits. boring!!!! where is the drama!!! so yes, i would like to see everyone having a little more fun on stage and with their concepts, but i also dont know if i'm willing to risk the 60% chance that it will be school uniforms for the younger groups. because i really Do Not want that.
and as far as groups where all the members have great stage presence, i'm so sorry but i suspect you were typing this while i published a post where i detailed the exact reasons i dont find seventeen compelling, please do not be offended. i guess i can say they have good collective presence? the ones that i was thinking of are shinee and tvxq. shinee for obvious reasons, and tvxq is just two dudes, so they both have to have stage presence or the whole thing would have collapsed in 2011. oh, by default also superm, because sm cherry picked seven of their best performers and slapped them together in a group. honestly baekhyun is probably the weakest link in terms of stage presence but he makes up for it in screaming so i forgive him. if we wanna count 50%+, where the group has good presence as a whole but not all the members, i would say ateez, got7, mx, and vixx. vixx is a weird one because 50% of their stage presence is hakyeon, jaehwan, and hyuk being pretty normal charismatic dudes and 50% of it is leo’s absolutely incomprehensible cryptid vibes. why is he like that. we'll never know.
#kingdom#thank you for these thoughts and questions anon!!#i got stuck in a youtube hole watching bbc radio 1 covers while writing this#if you read my taemin favourite song list and was confused about me listing final dragon and 2kids in the same tier#and are now seeing a kol and a the 1975 rnb cover here#yes my music taste is wack no it does not make sense to me either#got7 has had the wildest changes in stage vibes over their career#watching their rookie stuff is so funny when compared with their most recent comebacks over the last two years#mx just grew up very well#vixx.........man i dont even know#i think anyone would be hard pressed to explain how vixx works#kpop questions#text#Anonymous#kingdom asks

personally, sf9, tbz & atz! the first one so simple yet conveyed the song really well and the members’ skills in dancing shined way more than before + i was not expecting jaeyoon to do this good with this type of song but he really blew my mind with how his vocals & presence suited the song! i really liked the instrumental with tbz remix (which is a first on their stages so far for kinglom) and the snake scene, the overall inclusion of the original moves and the adaptations to them just worked really well this time! as for atz it was the most intriguing stage they’ve done too, and i liked how all the elements came together in the end. though it was more grand than i’d like, it had a fancy musical vibe to it which i, on the contrary, really dig :D
intresting!! yeah tbz did a really good job with monster and made it their own esp with the rap sections! had much more of a tbz feel compared to exo
atz's stage seemed to tie their whole mv universe and their wold kingdom stages together which was so neat with all the little easter eggs hehe

october & november favorites.
another month late rewind. oh well...2020 is what it is...
music.
'shine together' by SF9. y'all the nostalgia for some reason, rings so strong in this track. as soon as i listened i was like, oh my goodness it takes me back to easier times. i just love their vocals and the progression of the song.
nct 2020. y’all. this comeback was NO JOKE. it was brilliantly executed. i loved every moment. i loved the album. the various types of genres they tackled. BRILLIANTLY. i am excited to get the pt.2 soon in the mail. this has it’s own review because there were too many feelings to be had. and when they release the final video i’ll have an updated one with the new tracks. --and updated ‘make a wish’ is a bop, and it owns the replay button.
ost tracks from 'record of youth', ‘do do sol sol la la sol’ and 'more than friends'. i must say ost tracks tend to rule my life, especially when i find a gem in a beloved drama. some of these include: ‘go’ by seungkwan, ‘what if’ by kim jae-hwan, ‘so hard for me’ by jeebanoff, ‘falling in love’ by april, ‘late regret’ by ong seong wu, ‘serendipity’ by ha sung-woon, and ‘highlight’ by ra.L
'energetic' by wannaone. this one always manages to come back and DOMINATE my playlists.
'love killa' by monstax. seriously, can they not. their concepts and songs always go so hard. i love it and this is no exception.
'breath' by got7. this ONE. THIS FREAKING SONG. is soooooo good. 10 out of 10 would recommend. it's great, the mv is great, the vocals, the choreo. i love this comeback.
minisode1 by TXT. my children are talented precious beans, and this ep was beautiful. i love these tracks, the vibes of each song are incredible. and they are seriously the most previous children in the mv for ‘blue hour’. seriously every comeback they slay.
'i can't stop me' by twice. okay i must say that i can not make an opinion on a twice song because it never gets me in the first listen. however, it always manages to creep up and own the replay button. it’s a bop and i love it!
'your light' by TXT. this is an ost track from ‘live on’, a currently airing drama. and as soon as i heard this track i added it to my playlist. it’s great.
dramas & movies. *spoiler alert*
count your lucky stars. c-drama. this was a decent one. as always, well at least the chinese dramas i have seen all have a similar progression and this one didn't deter from that mold. i enjoyed this concept. and i love the lead actress, the reason i was drawn to this one. but i wish she was more confident like she was at the start of the drama. there were cute moments, and i loved their relationship. but he was mean. and i know he had the tragic back story but still no need to be rude to those around you, especially someone you care for deeply. i rate this is a 7 out of 10.
when i was most beautiful. k-drama. this one. i hyped up. like this was meant to be ji-soo's time to SHINE. boy, i thought my man was going to be the main lead. going to show up and finally get the girl. oh man was i in for some tragic nonsense. it was all a mess. because if only they had waited a few more years. both grew some more, maybe then it would have been perfect timing, but their timing was soooo wrong. and his brother was sooooo wrong. i still don't understand his logic, and complete disregard for his brother. i was an interesting one. and if you're looking for tragedy, and soapy drama this is one for you. i give it a 6 out of 10
romance, talk. webdrama. this was another webdrama from my main leading man, choi kyung-hoon. as i write this after a month and a half, i recall enjoying it and kind of predicting the ending, of it being the one kid in class.
school nurse files. miniseries. this was an interesting watch. unexpected and i enjoyed it, for how weird it was. definitely not something i would typically watch, but thank you to nam joo-hyuk. it follows a new school nurse eun-young who has the ability to see jelly monsters that stem from human desires. she has the power to eradicate them because sometimes they can overwhelm people/places. nam joo-hyuk's character, in-pyo, has a special power that protects him from the influence of these jellies. they have to work together to protect the school. and it's really good. the animation was great, and i loved the characters we got to see. i rate it a 8.5 out of 10.
a-teen. webdrama. this was a cute one. i loved the characters, and i finally understand the context of the instagram snippets i see. it was cute, and fun. i loved the little cameos. and i especially loved the seventeen ost tracks.
record of youth. k-drama. bro. this drama was top tier, as to be expected from my park bo-gummy. i rate it a 10 out of 10, and this one already has a review, because it was too much to contain in one rewind.
do do sol sol la la sol. k-drama. this one will have it's own review. it follows the story of our tragic ra-ra who is currently in a mess, when her fiance runs from the alter and her father unexpectedly passes away, she is scammed out of her money and finds herself in eunpo, a town full of lovely characters who come to surround her. as well as our man jun, who is ra-ra's knight in shining armor. i love it. it's great. their story funny and lighthearted. i would rate it a 10 out of 10; however, that finale had me balling my eyes out and then i felt oh so betrayed, sooooo i am still processing.

Road to Kingdom
I freaked out watching the preview stages for each group and it made me instantly a fan of Road to Kingdom.
I am gonna try post my opinions like this as stuff get shown and when the show starts airing.
I wanna see how my opinions on groups change after watching Road to Kingdom
Note that I am not 100% familiar to all of these groups so sorry if I get any information wrong. I started looking into all of these groups more after they were announced so I still am learning!
-Pentagon
-At first when the official lineup was announced I initially thought that Pentagon was gonna be my favorite out of all these groups
-I got into them because of Triple H (rip)
-Listened to Shine and started liking them of course like everyone else
-(still don’t know why they haven’t gotten a win yet)
-Like Pentagon is so talented and all of their songs are good so I don’t know what’s happening
-Their preview stage made shine into a horror song
-Like how in horror movies they would play children music in the background and it would get all creepy
-This has the same feeling
-So I was like so they are going for the dr bebe route for this stage I am pretty sure...
-Wooseok looks like he belongs in a mental hospital
-I feel like since Pentagon is the most senior group they are gonna scare everyone just like how Mamamoo did in Queendom
-Chances of winning are very very high they are not that popular in Korea so I feel like they would gain a lot of attention because they are talented and win
-My top songs:
1. Naughty Boy
2. Humph!
3. Shine
-The Boyz
-Ok so I for sure thought that Pentagon would be my favorite...
-But then The Boyz came out of nowhere
-Like I was not huge huge fans of The Boyz and just keeping an eye on them
-But when they were announced for RTK I started paying a bit more attention to them and I fell for them
-After I started binge watching any The Boyz videos I find
-Fell for Eric so hard
-I love love love their music
-When no air came out it easily became one of my favorites for that year
-Out of all the preview stages The Boyz were my favorite and they left the most impact in my opinion
-You gotta admit that their preview stage was cool
-In the end where they laid on the ground had me laughing so hard
-Chances of winning are pretty high I am pretty sure out of all the groups in RTK The Boyz have the largest Korean fan base
-My top songs:
1. No Air
2. Bloom Bloom
3. D.D.D
-Oneus
-First heard of them when I was watching simply kpop because I was board
-And because of simply kpop I forgot how much times I listened to Twilight
-And the “Bulgeun taeyangi eodume garyeo bicheul ilheo noeullo beonjyeogane” in the beginning will forever be stuck in my head
-But what really caught my eye was English Girl 😂
-I remember the first time listening to this I think I laughed too hard
-It definitely left an impression on me
-But not having a real interest in them until I watched Weekly Idol with them and Ateez
-Originally watched it for Ateez ended up with being interested in Oneus
-Found out that they were from RBW and was like oOOoooOo
-I am a fan of the girl trainees at RBW (365 Practice)
-Their colab with Haeun was very cute
-I would have to say that their preview stage was very dull compared to other groups with more members
-I liked how they fit in singing Twilight out of nowhere
-Chances of winning I am not too sure but I do think they will do very well
-My top songs:
1. Lit
2. Twilight
3. A Song Written Easily
-Golden Child
-Woollim Boys (sorry not sorry every time I see a Woollim group that’s all I think of because of ProduceX101)
-First heard of them through Weekly Idol when Jangjun danced with Weki Meki
-After that I heard about them every so often
-Thier cover on Seventeen’s Fear shook me to the core
-Did not expect it at all because Seventeen songs are very hard to cover
-After I watched it I couldn’t get over Joochan and Seungmin
-After watching their preview stage all I can say is wow
-It was the first one I watched and my thoughts were wow of course I wouldn’t expect any less from a show like RTK
-In the beginning sorta getting vampire vibes and I was like so are we gonna have this type of concept
-Yes and No?
-They are very powerful dancers
-Chances of winning I would say are in the middle 50/50
-My top songs:
1. DamDaDi
2. Without You
3. Wannabe
-ONF
-I only heard of them because they are from WM Entertainment (my ult group Fromis_9 really likes Oh My Girl)
-So I only started watching videos of them when the RTK lineup was announced
-I am shook with Hyojin’s vocals
-We love a vocal king
-I think their concept with the ON team and OFF team is very creative
-Some members vocals reminds me of YG vocals a little bit (maybe it was because of Mixnine? I might be going crazy) (haha treasure stans you get me)
-Thier preview stage I feel like they could have been a bit more creative but I guess their is so much you can do with 6 members
-Chances or winning seem pretty low but we can’t be sure
-My top songs:
1. We Must Love
2. Why
3. Complete
-Verivery
-Only heard of them through people mentioning them on YouTube or Twitter
-Sometimes Yeonho’s voice sounds like Victon’s/X1’s Seungwoo like the tiniest bit
-They seem like a group that would be in Produce
-Preview stage gave me MonstaX shoot out vibes in the beginning
-They used very clean sharp movements in it
-Out of all the groups they were probably the most sync for this performance
-Chances of winning seem pretty low but anything can happen
-My top songs:
1. Lay Back
2. Tag Tag Tag
3. From Now
-Too
-Never heard of them until they announced the line up
-Since they literally just debuted I don’t really have a lot to say about them
-They might struggle the most being the youngest group with very little bit experience
-Their preview stage was my least favorite because all they literally did was sing their debut song
-But I am very curious of what happens next on their stage because it seems like the remixed their song
-Chances of winning very low because a lot of skills you need to become a good idol is achieved through time and they pretty much started filming the show before they even debuted
-I am not saying they aren’t talented or they don’t have the skills to win it’s just simply not sure
-They have one song so I can’t really make a ranking...
-The electric guitar that’s in the background of Magnolia reminds me of BlockB’s Very Good (it’s very faint)
——————————————————————————
As I was making this I started thinking about what if they made a normal Kingdom and not Road to Kingdom. So I started thinking who would be in it if their was a Kingdom. I would say MonstaX, Sf9, Stray Kids, Ateez, Astro, and Nu’est could possibly be in the lineup.
If they had a Road to Queendom (which I hope they do) I would say Fromis_9, Cherry Bullet, Nature, Dia, Rocket Punch, Cignature, and Dream Note could be the lineup.
Tell me your own opinions on who could be in the possible line up for Kingdom and Road to Queendom!
