I'm seeing a lot of people (not just one or two) express disappointment about the Twice and Hawks lack of confrontation. I want to just say, in all seriousness, there's something being ignored here and it has a lot to do with people not understanding Twice and why, even if it would do a lot for Keigo's character development, it wouldn't be good for what and who Twice was and meant in the narrative. Even aside from the clones essentially not being Twice, I think people are not realizing the war arc has been the villains' Bad End in so many ways. That there was a lot of dramatic irony in how they ended up and that included Twice.
Tumblr media
In a sense, throughout the war arc, none of this has been Jin, and that's good because even the idea of there being any Twice sentience among would remind me of this:
Tumblr media
The idea of Jin not being an original would have sent him into a mental breakdown.
Tumblr media
So, just the idea of Twice being used like this - with no original, no concrete way to himself, there's a horror aspect to this. In Toga's grief (righteous and needed as it is because SOMEONE needs to mourn Jin), she has also created Jin's Greatest Nightmare. Any closure from this wouldn't have been "real". Or it would have been just Keigo reconciling with what he's done, which is still on its way, but would be very one-sided. There's no Twice there to really tell Keigo off. I understand where everyone is coming from, but there's a lop-sided interest in Keigo facing consequences (which he has and will continue to), but little understanding or care that this isn't what Jin would have wanted. Jin wanted to be himself, and trusted, and surrounded by the people he loved and lived for. Jin feared not being the real original clone. Would have there been a real good narrative reason to use what would have been Jin's greatest fear to propel Keigo to self-actualization? Jin and Hawks represent the first attempt at saving a villain, a league member, in this manga, and Hawks failed. And he needs to come to terms with that by himself.

If I can be real for a second - what turned me off from BNHA/MHA wasn't even the series itself (though it def has some things I don't care for in the later half) but the fucking real life League of Villains stans who just CONSTANTLY blasted the hero side and acted like LoV were totally in the right just because they have tragic back stories where they were abused or failed by society (it started getting truly unbearable when Hawks killed Twice, like jesus. I will forever argue his actions were entirely valid, if misguided, given the information he had).
Because... it's literally the gif.
Tumblr media
The who damn point was that they had valid points, that hero society was fucked up and failing the people who needed help the most... but LoV were not against MURDERING GENUINELY INNOCENT PEOPLE and thus had to be fucking STOPPED. They didn't just kill heros, they'd kill civilians as well. They were actively continuing the cycle that hurt them, just for the other half of society. Their actions weren't about making everyone equal, it was about making others suffer and putting themselves at the top.
Their reasons being understandable and sad DON'T MAKE THEM THE TRUE GOOD GUYS. Just like the heroes weren't purely the good guys because they fought bad guys (fuck Endeavor, all my homies hate Endeavor). It was gray vs gray, not black vs white. Both sides had something they needed to learn or understand, and change as a result of.
I just got so sick of wading through 'LoV is right!' 'Kill Hawks/All Might/etc.' 'All Mights a bad guy' rhetoric, I couldn't enjoy MHA.

People need to stop glorifying the villains so much whilst hating on the heroes for one mistake or having to do one bad thing.

I think about the personality section on Hawks' wiki page every single day. "Even if the plan ultimately failed" YOU MEAN BECAUSE HAWKS KILLED TWICE????

bc ive been seeing dumbfuck discourse on twitter about shit that happened four years ago, dabi did not pull out a camera because he planned twice’s death. skeptic had body cameras on everyone in the league including hawks, that’s how dabi got the shot of twice getting killed. he didnt use his fucking phone and stand there, it is literally stated that skeptic has cameras on all of them.

Stain is one of two characters that have expressed this sentiment that people show their true selves when they are facing death. Who is the other one? Well...
Tumblr media
It's Hawks. And both of these characters would hate it, but there's a parallel here.
Both Stain and Hawks have idealistic visions of what they want for the future of their society: Stain wants a society where pros are true heroes and Hawks wants a society where heroes have too much time on their hands. Though at the core of it, what they both want is a more peaceful society. And they are both willing to kill those who get in the way of their pursuit of that vision.

I’m preparing the most dreaded, painful, regretable «I told you so» on Thursday when Dabi is dead while Hawks is all fine and dandy and just brushes past ever knowing the villains and any any and all trauma he lived trough 🥲

I have to know. Do the fauximorphs from A-Town have battle morphs and if so, what are they?
Battle morphs, you say. Battle morphs. Oh no, there are never six exotic animals onscreen at the same time. For that matter, there are never two exotic animals onscreen at the same time. There is sometimes a lion. There is a German Shepherd that has been dyed to look like a coyote. Sometimes we are told after the fact that the lion was Trina in morph; sometimes we're told it was Liam. The coyote is Gina's favored morph, except for all the times it was Brandon in coyote morph. At one point the same stock footage of a wolf running past the camera plays six times in a row, and the thought-speak voiceover tries to convince us that this is six separate wolf morphs.
Other ways the show gets around the fact that all its animals have to be a) stock footage, b) tame, or c) That One Lion We Pay $2500 an Hour to Wander Around Our Sets:
Crystal often shows up to battles as a horse. Why she chooses horse over wolf is unclear.
At one point J.J. flings out an arm and yells "Poison attack!" and a controller extra falls over dead. The camera cuts back to J.J., who is now holding what is clearly a garter snake that was meant to have come out of his sleeve.
Brandon's favored battle morph is... Mopsy. The 15-lb dog. We're told he's defeated many hork-bajir-controllers in this shape, although this is of course never shown onscreen.
For that matter, Liam is sometimes on the phone with a hork-bajir friend, but we never see the other side of the conversation and he has a line lamenting that he never got her permission to morph her.
Liam-the-parakeet is sometimes an actual parakeet that's been added to a fight (usually by having the bird land on an extra's head, followed by the extra pretending to be grievously injured). But there are also loads of times when Gina and J.J. just go "Look up in the sky! It's Liam!" and we just have to take their word for it.
Whether or not guinea pigs count as exotic animals, the general consensus is that the guinea pig in a tiny skunk costume is Gina's most adorable battle morph.
For that matter, the script strongly implies that Gina isn't human, and she's in morph during all of her onscreen appearances. But we never see her out of morph, and she often goes straight from human shape to some other morph. Gina's True Form is thus the subject of infinite fandom speculation, from the boring explanations (she's obviously meant to be an andalite) to the canny ones (Marco thinks she's a chee) to the sweet ones (she's a deserter yeerk Liam rescued) to the buckwild ones (her original form cannot appear before humans without driving them mad).

I don't like the 'Shigaraki/Tenko comes back by regaining Overhaul quirk' theory mostly for a bit of a silly reason - that there would be two Overhaul quirks running around.
Quirks are supposed to be something unique to an individual, are supposed to represent part of a person's 'personality' - something you're born with. You might bring up the fact that kids can have one of their parent's quirk (rather than a composite of the two) but I think that works as something being inherited due to genetics. Overhaul and Shigaraki/Tenko have no relation to each other except for being part of a fucked up evil mastermind experiment.
(I guess it wouldn't matter since it was an artificial quirk anyways?)
Also I just have a strong feeling that if Shigaraki/Tenko gets the Overhaul quirk, he should go and heal Overhaul. If that's even possible after all this time. Dunno. Something about them being both victims of AFO and Shigaraki wanting to be a Hero for Villains. But that's not doing to happen because Overhaul needs to pay/suffer for his crimes, so.

I don’t wanna hear ANYTHING from the Hawks Has No Consequences crowd. That man had his wings burnt so he couldn’t use them anymore, had prosthetics put in and was given a basic weapon as a replacement for his feather swords while everyone else uses their quirks, then got his quirk taken away by AFO and not only does he have a scar from Dabi on his neck but scars ALL THE WAY DOWN HIS BACK
I’d say he’s gotten his consequences and probably has more coming along the way

ALR TWICEBEAM LORE:
I'm a goth Jin truther so goth bf x pastel gf
Also himbo4himbo
Their story is that Makoto befriends the Lov and they influence him with the breaking point being Hawks trying to kill Jin and Makoto saving him and becoming a villain under 'Burn' out of love for him
This is when they officially become a couple and there's much tenderness and pda
Jin age regresses from trauma and Makoto is his caregiver and a very good one bc of Momo and having a special interest in kidcore
Jin often steals and makes things for Makoto
Toga is their number one supporter
Eachother's first healthy relathionship-Makoto just had shallow flings before and Jin had a bad history with toxic partners and they learned how to properly be romantic together♡
Bpd 4 DID Realness
Tumblr media
I LOVE THEM HELLOOOO . Age regressor twice is something I hold very dearly to my heart I'm so glad you share the same hc . BPD 4 DID HIMBO 4 HIMBO REALNESS !!!!! They heal together ..... <33 I am their number 2 fan they deserve everything good in this world !!!

Remember when Himiko first realized that world considers her & her friend’s lives as worthless and unredeemable for the same reasons heroes are idolized. I remember.
