I honestly have a pretty bad time capturing the heliobi
#I was very sorry about Cirrus towards the end. I was terribly sorry about Keralum. I think some of the snippets are great and I'm loving the lore#But wow does it make me feel a terrible person at times#I wouldn't be doing this if I was really the MC I would be setting a Heliobi Rights association or something#Yes they're tricky and yes they pose a threat but come on the way they're treated is mostly awful and exaggerated#No wonder they're resentful#I wonder if the relationship is a bit different in the Zhuming. They both work in similar ways#And use even similar analogies and metaphors#Also I may be suffering the blindness of those who can't but see what little they know or what they seek#but again I saw references to xiangqi I think#I love Jing Yuan a lot and I've loved Cirrus ngl#Ahfksjd rambling again#I'm sorry I just realised I didn't censore the names

It's wild to think that liushen probably has a bigger age gap than bingqiu. Especially by the end of the story.
Like, we don't have firm ages for anyone other than Luo Binghe, but we know Shen Yuan is vaguely in his twenties when he dies the first time, that the Qing generation of peak lords are all within a reasonable age range of one another, and that Yue Qingyuan was a grown adult when he helped seal Tianlang Jun under the mountain. And that this happened after Shen Qingqiu had been accepted into the sect and become the successor of Qing Jing Peak, which, consider Shen Jiu was considered a late addition and also that he presumably didn't climb the social hierarchy of his peak overnight, probably means Yue Qingyuan was closer to 30 than 20 when he fought Tianlang Jun (assuming they weren't even older than that).
Which would put the Qing generation around their 40's, most likely, by the start of the story. Probably mid-40's, which works out for simplification sake because that would mean the best guess is that Shen Yuan is about 10 years older than Luo Binghe at the start of the story, and Liu Qingge is about 20 years older than Shen Yuan.
I mean we could absolutely take more generous estimates to get it closer to one end of a range or another, especially for a particular fic or whatnot, but this is like, the most reasonable guesstimate without doing any of that. I think? I mean you could feasibly make the bingqiu age gap as small as six years or as big as fifteen without really defying canon, and if we want to be very generous to Liu Qingge we could say he's the youngest of the peak lord and just barely squeaked into their generation and is closer to 30 than 40 and shorten the liushen age gap to 10 years instead, but there's also no real reason to assume that either. All things being equal, Liu Qingge being like 45 seems to be more likely than him being 30 or than him being like, 100, even though both are technically possible (to be honest we don't even know if he's actually younger than Yue Qingyuan, since peak lord hierarchy is about the rank of your peak, not your actual age).
Anyway of course eventually Shen Yuan dies again and stays dead for a few years, Luo Binghe gets to catch up to him a bit but Liu Qingge keeps going. Which just widens the liushen age gap (whatever it is) while shortening the bingqiu one. So even if the liushen gap's closer to a 10 years than 20, by the end of the story it's still probably bigger than the bingqiu gap.
I think what makes this extra amusing is that nobody would enjoy the revelation of all this, though. Luo Binghe and his age gap kink would be appalled to learn that his shizun is barely older than him. Liu Qingge (who is firmly in the thick of things with his childhood-enemies-to-lovers arc) would also probably not take it well to find out that he's been unwittingly attempting to rob a cradle.
Nobody likes this!
#svsss#bingqiu#liushen#scum villain#scum villain's self saving system#liu qingge and luo binghe would BOTH appreciate it if shen yuan could go get trapped in a narnia dimension or something#age a couple more decades in the span of a few hours and then come back with an artful grey streak in his hair or something#shen yuan: honestly I kind of thought the revelation that I wasn't the real shen qingqiu would take precedence over age gap discourse?#bingliu: >:(

vying your attention
synopsis - they've never gone this long without a trace of you in their day, is it so wrong for them to want your attention?
including - jing yuan, jiaoqiu, mydei
warnings - gn!reader, fluff, maybe ooc, wc - 1.7k
a/n: argh i shouldn't of taken this long off writing ;; had to turn to writing for some favourites to ease back in... also newish format maybe.. what do we think?
jing yuan ★↷
all it took was a small glance around his office for the general to decide he was too lazy to do anything else for the day.
it took him an extra few seconds to decide that it would be the prime time to find you but jing yuan was quick to reluctantly backtrack on that idea. while he deeply longed to do so, like usual, he knew today was rather busy for you so he respected your other commitments.
although, he would come to regret that the longer the day drew on - not that he would admit that openly with words.
however there was only so much that jing yuan could do to control himself from disturbing you, mainly seeing as it was such a common occurrence for the both of you that it felt too weird for him not to. fortunately for you, he was considerate enough to wait long enough to where he was sure you weren't as busy anymore.
which meant in the meantime he would shrug off most duties and take what he deemed a well deserved nap.
jing yuan would then come to wake up way too eager than usual, the simple prospect of being able to finally see you after all this time was enough to motivate him to shake off his drowsiness as quickly as he ever had. it didn't take him long to find you either, and as soon as he did you were well aware of his presence.
he was subtle with it at first.
you noticed him lurking around where you went, an occasional glance on your end would end up with your eyes meeting before you'd look back to what you were doing. you knew he was waiting for the very second you finished up to swoop in and take your attention and time for the whatever was left of the day.
his subtle hints to you that told you he was waiting for your attention soon morphed into blatant displays. so much so to the point that jing yuan took the initiative and dragged you away from whatever was keeping you occupied.
at your complaints, jing yuan would assure you that he'd get it all cleared up for you at some point before rambling on about how much he missed you and how you needed to make up the time he went without you.
all you could do was sigh in defeat - although if you were being one hundred percent honest you were glad he dragged you away especially as now you could spend your time with your lover.
jiaoqiu★↷
it had become a rather “bad habit” - depending on who it came from - from jiaoqiu to be beside you at all times, or as often as he could as naturally there were occurrences where that would be impossible. most of the time, the times you two could be together would be at home or on mundane trips out and around the yaoqing.
and despite how pleasantly often those times occurred, the times in between were arguably the worst, even more so when they were well extended beyond jiaoqiu's liking.
he understood that you could both be busy but sometimes that was against his best wishes - today was one such time.
it started the moment you both began your day, he knew he had a pretty average day ahead and judging by your lack of presence, he knew you would have a very busy one. it already felt odd to jiaoqiu that you weren't around in the morning, he didn't quite know how long that would last but he didn't dare dwell on it too much.
the day already seemed to drag on in his mind. every minute felt like an eternity. he began finding himself doing every single meaningless task and such to keep him occupied. and when he ran out of things to do, he found himself seeking moze's company to fill some time and getting him to accompany him to some basic daily tasks he started building.
every so often, jiaoqiu would leave you a voice message just to grow slightly impatient when he would receive no response - a slight downturned flick of his ear would be a clear sign that he was becoming irked even if he tried to play it off.
moze was convinced that at some point jiaoqiu was counting down minutes and seconds, mainly judging by the fact that he kept asking what time it was within too close of a time span.
even when jiaoqiu returned home, he kept himself close to the front entrance just so he was as close as he could be when you eventually returned. so as soon as jiaoqiu heard the front door close and recognised the sound of your footsteps, he knew this was his chance to get his repayment from you for making him wait all day.
he began finding his way to you but was quickly met by you finding him first since your need to see him rivalled his to see you as soon as possible. the very moment you were in range, you brought him into your embrace- something he very quickly reciprocated.
even as you began to let go, you noticed the ever present subtle feeling of jiaoqiu's tail being wrapped around your waist remaining. it had crept round during the hug and it appeared it wasn't letting go anytime soon, much to the owners happiness. not that you minded either.
jiaoqiu was yearning for some of your attention all day and now that he had the chance to receive it, he certainly wasn't passing up the opportunity.
mydei ★↷
he was never really one to actively seek out somebody for small, needless acts - although that wasn't to say it wasn't an entirely impossible occurrence.
and rather admittedly, it happened too often nowadays for mydei's likeness. especially now that you had become so integrated into his daily life, a permanent constant that left him feeling like he was missing something detrimental in his life if he so happened to not see you on a day.
so he'd always make the minimal effort it took to see you, or vice versa, whichever one came to see the other first.
however, today you hadn't reached out to him once nor had you even asked if you could see him. mydei chalked it up to you being occupied and left it, it was only the first half of the day after all, you might become freed up later. so he sent a small message to you in hopes of you seeing it eventually and responding to let him know when you were.
the day seemed to draw on despite who he talked to or what he did to fill the time - mydei became too subconscious for his liking about checking for a message from you.
he sent another message and got on with his day yet again.
while he wouldn't exactly call himself impatient or even pressing, he definitely felt that way when he noticed the day drawing to a close and he'd sent a few more messages than he felt necessary to you in hopes of any response from you. even though he reasoned that he you were extremely busy and that was understandable, a part of him was hoping for a small indicator that you were doing well.
it couldn't even be classed as vying for a fragment of your attention in your busy day, well at least he wouldn't, but at some point, when the day finally turned to night, mydei decided to go see you in person.
he managed to learn from a few others where your last seen whereabouts were, which was a small relief for him to know that his suspicions about you being bust were right - and the small idea of something horrid happening to you was obsolete. but mydei certainly wouldn't rest until he saw you himself.
you were completely exhausted to say the least. the day had taken quite the toll on you, draining you of practically all your energy. it was only when you collapsed into the sanctity of your accommodation that it dawned on you to check for messages - namely as you realised you hadn't spoken to mydei at all, which is normally a staple of your day.
being greeted with quite the few messages from him was not so much a surprise but more of a slight guilt inducing moment. one that was made worse by the fact that before you had a proper chance to read and respond, the commotion of someone knocking caught your attention.
however that quickly morphed into a welcome surprise when you found out it was mydei himself knocking. immediately upon seeing you, he seemed to visibly perk up but that may be insisted upon by someone that it was your imagination. you barely had the chance to greet him before you practically felt yourself being picked up.
mydei mumbled something that you caught barely, along the lines of both being tired, you not being around him at all today and needing some time with you.
and all of a sudden you were both caught in a cuddle. mydei held you close in his arms and you staggered for a second before reciprocating. the tiredness combined with being held in his arms led to you drifting off before you knew it and the last thing you remember thinking was something along the lines of mydei being like a cat…

Forced Marriage

Forced Marriage
Jing Yuan x male reader, fluff;
This day has finally come. Day when you and Jing Yuan were going to get married and fulfill your parents' promise.
Several years had passed since signing the agreement as children. Your parents long gone from this world. You both have earned a good name for yourselves. But despite the huge period of time and all your achievements, you have forgotten about one and most important thing. Or you may have actually done it on purpose. You haven't built a bond expected for future partners. You haven't gotten to know each other. You haven't even met. Not counting a few important occasions, banquets or incidents, at which you never exchanged more than two sentences. You knew your current appearance only from paintings.
But now it was all about to change.
You adjusted the collar of your white shirt in the mirror and sent your reflection a hesitant glance.
Suddenly you heard a creak of an opening door. You turned rapidly and your eyes caught a glimpse of a figure of the man that you were supposed to marry in next few hours.
You swallowed a lump in your throat. Weirdly terrified. A feeling once completely unfamiliar to you.
You kept watching as Jing Yuan made his way down the grand, snowy white, marble staircase, positioned in the center of the room. He was moving with incredible elegance. His hips gently swayed from side to side in the rhythm of lions' tails that confidently hunted his prey.
Right behind your fiancé his butler followed. His movements were much more clumsy, struggling to keep up with his master.
-It's a honor.
Said Jing Yuan, bowing low as he finally managed to reach you.
-My pleasure.
You answered with a fake confidence. You weren't sure what to do with yourself. Should you shake his hand? Give him a hug? Confess for how long you had been looking forward to this meeting? After all, you were going to spend the rest of your lives together. Completely inseparable.
Jing Yuan, however, seemed cold and reserved. Completely different from the descriptions. Although his face didn't show much, man didn't fail to send you an unfriendly glance.
You rubbed your sweaty palms against the sides of your suit pants. You really can't remember the last time you were so nervous. Have you ever been this way? Even when handling the biggest contracts on which your family's good name depended, you weren't this worried. Today, however, was very different. As well as the entire last week for which you couldn't sleep.
-Misses Xiǎo Huì probably warned you that it's not gonna be anything big. Everyone will find out about our new status eventually, but I don't want to make a ceremony that shakes whole Xianzhou Luofu. I prefer to let this matter pass as quietly as possible. We came to the conclusion that my marriage... precisely this marriage, may not have the best impact on my position as Charioteer.
Ah, of course. Over those past years since Jing Yuan was a small child, he was able to completely turn around his family's luck and become a Charioteer. He chose a path completely different from his origins.
While you were enriching and expanding a company passed down from generation to generation, he was starting from an absolute scratch. Literally. Because at the time all his family had to offer were debts.
Although you admired his achievements and hard work, you probably would have preferred if he had remained as an ordinary, average Jing Yuan. Or at least if he hadn't been in charge of all citizens… That would have been much more simpler…
Ceremony passed quickly. Too quickly. Whole concept was so abstract to you that you weren't even able to recall whole time spent on all activities. At first you didn't want to interfere in the course of your wedding. You thought that you would let Jing Yuan take the lead and carry it out in any way he wished. However now, you regretted that deeply.
Before you knew it, you got your blessings from all the important figures in Xianzhou Luofu and beyond. While your hands grabbed brushes and signed all needed paperwork.
In the end, inspired by a foreign tradition, you exchanged rings. You needed something that at first glance symbolized and proved your relationship.
However, your movements were completely automatic and not tainted by any feeling. Deep in your soul you laughed bitterly at this.
-This is our shared bedroom - he announced, pointing at the room with a gentle nod.
You looked around in astonishment.
Huge, shadowed bedroom, without any natural light source. Only with candles alone. Candles that emitted a cozy warmth. In theory.
Major attention was focused on a large canopy bed placed in the center. Covered with thick layers of duvets in plum and burgundy colors. Whole place almost screamed with splendor. And was definitely different from a traditional bedroom in these regions. It was most likely a former guest room for high-ranked foreign heads, who felt uncomfortable in an unfamiliar environment.
And this suggested that Jing Yuan didn't want to sacrifice his private bedroom for your shared abode.
-Of course, only for now. Until public interest dies down. If something were to leak outside the gates of this building, we would probably prefer for it to not be an unfavourable gossip, right? -he asked almost cockily- I think that in a few months… Maybe a year or two. We will be able to split up and go our separate ways. I'll take one wing and you will take the other. We'll pretend that it's more convenient for our work. Although… I don't think we'll have to pretend.
You were stunned.
So this is how your marriage was supposed to look like…
-But isn't that better? I mean... you know, you don't even swing that way.
You had just finished venting about your worries over a bottle of soju, when your friend decided to bring you back to reality.
You looked at him dumbfounded. But still, you let him continue. Especially after he poured you another glass.
-Since he is not really interested and calls it just a deal, you can treat it like that too. Say that in the eyes of the public you will play a perfect, compatible marriage couple, and in your own four walls you will lead separate lives. You will find yourself some nice chick, flatter her a little bit and-
You growled in disappointment.
-First of all: fact that Jing Yuan is a man is actually the least of my problems. Secondly, I'm not a cheater. Even if for him it's just an arrangement, for me it's still a certified marriage signed by two fully aware people. Even if nothing happens between us I'm not planning to find anyone else.
Your friend just waved his hand at this and ordered another two bottles of drink from a passing by waitress.
-Do you want something more to eat? - he looked at you with expectation. You merely nodded. You didn't care about the food. You wanted to get back to looking for a solution to your problem as soon as possible - In that case I'll ask for another set of what we had before and maybe some more pork this time. Okay, cutie?
He gave a waitress a charming smile, and she, wholly covered in blush, curtsied and quickly ran off towards the kitchen. At the same time, you kept your focus on the slowly cooling grill that decorated the center of a table.
-Ahhh-… cause you always choose the path of this hopeless romantic. And where did that get you? -he pointed at you with disapproval- Look where you are now.
Your head collapsed on your hands, that were laying on the table. You started doubting the point of this meeting.
-Better tell me what to do to "get out of this place".
-I mean- you can wait, be patient. You can play the perfect and understanding partner, hoping that Jing Yuan will one day reciprocate your feelings. But that may take years, or worse, never even happen. And you-… just look at yourself. You are helpless. Lets be honest, you aren't patient. Or at least not anymore in that case. Especially after so many years of waiting. So we need to try a different approach.
-But what kind of?
-Well… -man smiled menacingly- Time for a shock therapy.
"If you are legalny his husband and if you want to be his husband just act as his husband. In the end he doesn't really care."
You weren't sure if this was the best advice you'd ever heard, but you still decided to get swept away.
Which led you to this very moment.
-I promise, I'm gonna be gentle.
Jing Yuan looked at you with suspicion.
-It's not like I'm gonna do anything bad to you - you said slightly devastated- We are partners, remember?
Jing Yuan only furrowed his eyebrows more. He crossed his arms over his chest and shifted his weight from leg to leg. Behind his back you could almost see an imaginary lion's tail that dangerously wagged in rhythm of Jing Yuan's excessive stomping. It wasn't hard to see that your husband was now seriously considering all the pros and cons. When you waited like on tenterhooks, clenching your thumbs tightly.
-Alright.
He decided dryly and without a long delay sat down on the edge of your shared bed. Probably out of all ideas and demands that you could come up with, this one was not the worst and relatively harmless.
Not wanting to miss the opportunity, you took a seat right behind his back in the blink of an eye.
With shaking hands you grabbed the ribbon that kept his hair tied. You pulled on it gently. Ribbon untied itself smoothly and slipped onto a duvet, without much resistance. Hair, that had been pinned up for whole this time, gracefully spilled on all sides. Thrilled with admiration, you began to gently caress them. In touch they resembled a most expensive silk. They were so delicate that they were just slipping through your hands. You dipped deeper into the snow-white ocean, feeling so pleasant that you wished for it to never stop.
-Do you ever plan to start? -he asked without much patience.
Startled, you almost jumped up. You completely lost yourself in the pleasure, forgetting what you were actually supposed to do.
You grabbed a comb and separated a small part of Jing Yuan's hair.
-How many braids will be fine?
-Do as you wish.
He waved his hand as if shooing away an annoying bug. Jing Yuan probably wasn't aware of your capabilities and had already put himself in a losing position for today. You cheered deeply at that. Since you didn't get a limit you won't restrict yourself either. You will prolong the moment as much as possible.
As you brushed his hair, you also gently massaged his head, which apparently must have appealed to him. Because after a few minutes he forgot to hold back and kept bringing his head closer towards your hand, whenever it moved just a little bit away.
Maybe your ears were playing tricks on you, but you could have swear that in every few minutes you heard a quiet cat's purr.
But you didn't even dare to bring up this subject.
-Huì Fēn?
Jing Yuan's butler paused his hand on a doorknob and turned towards you surprised.
-May I have a question for you?
Trying to relax and focus your attention on something else you began to blindly sort through the papers that were lying on your desk.
-Of course, Sir. How can I help you?
He quickly straightened himself and clasped his hands behind his back.
-It's about Jing Yuan.
Butler's face instantly turned pale.
-I know you have been by his side for many years, you met while you were still in the army… He can always count on your and he has a great trust in you. He has surely entrusted you with more than one secret…
-What do you want to imply by this, Sir? -eventually, he was unable to endure your words. Although his voice was still flawlessly calm.
-Does-… does Jing Yuan have someone? Or-… had someone?
Butler looked at you slightly stunned.
-I can swear that if it's true I won't do any harm to any of them. I just-… I just want to know…
You threw your hands and slightly depressed, sank onto a wooden furniture. You knew that Huì Fēn was not on your side. That he could have told you anything. And lie without hesitation. Anything to avoid harming his rightful Master. And moreover, to help him as much as possible.
But slowly you were beginning to feel exhausted. Long weeks started to pass since your wedding.
Huì Fēn smiled at you with pity.
-If it's about that, I can certainly assure you that you don't need to worry, Sir. Master Jing Yuan has never opened his heart to anyone. And that's what may be your biggest problem, Sir…
Your friend was right. After all, you weren't into men.
Sure, because of a contract made by your parents, you never got yourself into a relationship with anyone. But if you were to hang your eyes on someone in the past, before meeting Jing Yuan, it were always the females. You never imagined yourself with a man before, but you understood that it was bound to happen. And the fact that this someone was your spouse made this act seem neither so distant nor so unpleasant. Slowly, you even began to convince yourself to it. And you weren't doing it against your will. Jing Yuan was actually starting to attract you, despite his flaws, despite his cold attitude towards your relationship. Your feelings were above such a mere things as gender.
You turned from side to side. You really couldn't fall asleep. At first, Jing Yuan stayed up late studying papers and defense plans spread all over the bed. Which actually was your fault, since you insisted on him not doing this in his office but beside you. And after, when he finally decided to go to sleep, your started to overthink.
You almost wanted to growl out of frustration.
However, time to put the next stage of your plan into action has come.
Recent events didn't really bring Jing Yuan close to you, even when there were a lot of them, especially at shared meals.
But you won't give up so easily.
Somewhat timidly you began to move towards your partner. Slowly testing the waters. At first it seemed that you would succeed without any difficulties. At the end, however, things took a different turn.
-Despite so many layers of sheets, you are going to pretend that you got cold?
His clear voice pierced through the entire bedroom and echoed in a silent night. Yet Jing Yuan didn't even budge by millimeter. He also didn't turn to face you.
-So that's why there are so many of them? You wanted to separate yourself from me by them?
Jing Yuan didn't respond to that.
Seeing no objection, you gently lifted your left hand and put it on the sheets where his waist was. Successfully moving a couple inches closer and snuggling your chest into his back.
-You're really hoping that I'll get used to your presence and that's how you'll make me fall in love with you?
He worked you out. And at the same time he was so calm.
-So you give in to the possibility of falling in love with me?
Jing Yuan didn't say anything more. Nor did he push off your hand or move away.
That's not the end of the story…
I will write a sequel someday, but for the time being I don't have a slightest idea when it will happen. So it may take a long time...

╰┈➤Loving you
☪Valentines special with hsr characters! ☪Includes: Jing yuan, Dan heng, Sunday, Aventurine, Boothill, Blade+ Three special guests! ☪Know I said probably top 3 from the vote but had ideas for more. ☪Warnings: Mostly just fluff/ romance, Non gendered/ specified, lowkey just kinda cute. Established relationships in most. You get given gifts/ flowers, I just like flowers :( ☪Kinda late post, ended up being busy yesterday when I planned to post!
╰┈➤-`♡´- Jing yuan
A smaller hand wrapped around your fingers as the young teenager dragged you through the Xianzhou Lufou, not being able to stop yourself from chuckling at the boys antics. Leaves and twigs had gotten snagged in his blond hair, but he paid it no mind as he dragged you somewhere. His "super important secret mission" as he had told you when you inquired about what he was doing.
As you ran up a final hill you entered a garden, flowering bushes neatly pruned with much care. In the distance a familiar figure caught your attention, back turned to you but identifiable by the fluffy white hair and signature red ribbon sectioning it. Yanqing made a bee line for the man, pulling you along by the firm grasp that remained on your hand. As soon as you both stepped within earshot, the teen started calling out to the much older man. "Ah general! I got them!" The boy released your hand as he walked back along your trail after getting an appreciative nod from the man, leaving the both of you alone in a momentary, comforting silence. You moved towards Jing yuan, watching him turn as he held a bouquet of chrysanthemums outstretched towards you, pushing the tied stems into your raised hands. Shades of red, pink and orange gleamed in your eyes as you admired the flowers, holding them close to your chest. Jing yuan watched in amusement at your actions, stepping to your side and offering his arm. Your arm snaked around his bicep, hand firmly setting on the muscle. "Happy valentines, Shall we go darling? I've already made some plans for this evening." You couldn't resist his charming smile as you moved into step with him, walking under the golden hues of the sunset. You could hear his boots click against the stone path you both occupied, making the atmosphere feel more genuine over a the dreamish feel it held. It was simply.. breath-taking. You stopped outside a restaurant, the building simple but held a sentimental reminder to you both. The pale blue walls were unmistakeable, the old wallpaper peeling at the corner. It was where you had your first date all those years ago, Jing yuan having panicked and bought you to the worn out restaurant that was close to your house, yet you loved every moment of it. After all, he tried and that's all that mattered. Your palm slowly ran down his arm, taking it upon yourself to instead intertwine your fingers with his, feeling the cold metal of his wedding ring against the warm flesh of your hand. It served as a constant reminder that he was yours, that he truly loved you more than what words could convey. And you loved him too.
╰┈➤୨♡୧ Dan heng
The dark haired man stood in front of the closed door deep in thought, hands tightly clenching the poor flowers that sat at his mercy. He was kind of new to the whole romance idea, but with the encouragement of his pinkette friend he went along with her ideas. The longer he stood in the dimly lit hallway the further his mind spiraled. Did you even like flowers? What if you didn't accept them?
Dan heng let out an displeased sigh, wiping his clammy hand against his pants before knocking against your door. He could hear soft thuds through the thick wood, a yelp following a particularly loud one as your footsteps vibrated slightly through the floor. The pulled the door open, meeting deep cerulean eyes that seemed to be reading your every move. You blinked a few times at the man before you, rubbing your eyes yet he didn't leave your vision. Well you both got along, you weren't the closest two on the express, yet here he stood before you clutching a handful of flowers like it was the only thing grounding him. You could hear him clear his throat as he diverted his gaze from your own, opting to look over your shoulder instead. His words came out unsteady as he offered the white bundle towards you. "uhm, happy valentines. March told me to give you flowers cause I like... you?" You watched the usually composed man internally panic, statement forming into a question as it neared the end. It made him sound unsure, but he was confident with how he felt. Yet he struggled to voice it with the same sentiment. Dan heng Watched as his words finally clicked in your mind, a small smile reaching the genuine look of admiration behind your eyes. You hugged the mess of stems against you as you thanked him over and over, head lowering momentarily. He couldn't stop the surprised sound that slipped from his throat as you pecked him on the cheek, turning quickly to retreat to your mostly dark room, lit up by only a simple lantern. You returned moments later, flowers now replaced with a small dragon plush. He watched as you forced the stuffed toy towards him, gently grabbing it from your hold as you dropped your arms to your sides. "I got it for you, it reminded me of you a lot. It's really cute." Dan heng Looked at the plushie owlishly, meeting it's beady eyes that matched the colour of his own. His hand came to ruffle your hair, ushering you back into your bedroom as it was still significantly earlier than you would normally be up. "Thank you for it, I'll be sure to keep it safe." And he meant every word of it, considering it wat you who gifted him.
╰┈➤˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ Sunday
You sat on the large bed that centered the room, waiting for the winged man to return. You watched in silence as the sun began to set past the half closed blinds, hand tightening around the small object in your grasp. You did a onceover of your gift you had picked out, worried about it not being enough despite the thought that went into the personalisation. You flinched at hearing the hard wood door creak open, watching as the halovian stepped into the room, pushing it closed behind him. You were click to close your hand around the golden object, standing to greet him. Sunday met your eyes as he gave you a loving smile, arms wrapping around your waist as you returned his embrace. He placed a gentle kiss on your forehead before releasing you, stepping back. You watched as he dug through the pocket of his coat, pulling out a small object. His fist wrapped around it before he hovered it over your unoccupied and opened palm, dropping the reflective object into your grasp. "Happy valentines day angel. It isn't much but it reminded me of you, there's a photo of us I placed in there with room for another." The locket in your hand was soothing against your heated skin, being able to see small engravings of something akin to flowers in the metallic casing. You stared at the object in awe before remembering what you held wrapped in your fist, quickly bursting into laughter in front of your lover. He panicked at your sudden outburst, raising his arms and stuttering out words you couldn't comprehend. Your lowered arm moved in front of him, opening your hand to reveal the golden locket you had picked out for him. Sunday looked shocked at the gift you offered to him, a small pair of wings adorning the object. He opened the small clasp, looking at the two photos that fit perfectly within the frames. "I know you miss her still, so I made sure to add her in it too. Just so she's always with you." Your words hit him hard, looking between the photo of you both and the one of his adored younger sister. The months since his departure felt like years, being separated from her for the first time in their life, this time forever. Sunday wrapped his arms around you again, this time pulling you tight against his chest as his head met your shoulder. Your free hand moved to his nape, running your hand up through his grey hair. You could hear him gently mumble his gratitude against your skin. He carefully pulled away from you, hands still on your waist as his lips met your own. He considered himself lucky that you stood by his side, past all his wrong doings as he found himself on his personalised path to redemption. You cared for him like no other, loving him like he was the most precious thing to you. And to him, you were worth being labelled his most precious possession.
╰┈➤ ♠︎♦️♠︎ Aventurine
You sat on your shared bed, blankets messy from your sleep. The orange hues from the sunrise shone through the glass behind you, the warmth radiating through the room. You found yourself looking around the room in a state of confusion, being amplified by the drowsiness that still remained clouding your mind. Where is he? Your bedroom door was pushed open before you could ponder further, Aventurine stepping into the room with a tray balanced on his bare hand, usual black gloves discarded on his bedside cabinet. His top remained half unbuttoned from last night, letting the silky material drape off his shoulder instead of fixing it. He carefully placed the tray on your lap, shuffling under the covers beside you, arm moving to wrap around your back and settle on your waist. A mixed array of different foods sat neatly arranged, some shaped into hearts with a small cup of juice placed on the far corner. "Didn't know what you wanted so made you a bit of everything, Happy valentines love." He watched you silently as you ate, fingers rubbing circles into your hip as he leaned into you. You looked at him in slight confusion, simply observing as you ate instead of getting himself food like you expected. Instead he served you your breakfast in bed and just waited patiently for you to finish. Aventurine ran his fingers through his sandy-blond hair, turning to you at the feeling of your gaze on the side of his head. He opened his mouth to say something, but was quickly interrupted as you shoved the pancake on the end of your fork into his mouth, syrup spilling on his parted lips. Your face moved towards his as he slowly chewed on the fluffy sweet treat in his mouth, cocking a brow as his magenta-cyan eyes met yours. He felt your tongue glide over his lower lip, cleaning off the sticky substance before resuming your meal. He blinked a few times as he processed the loss of feeling, chuckling as he gently pressed his lips against the side of your head, breathing in the scent of your hair. "Don't be too long baby, I have something I want to do with you later." He watched as you happily nodded, imagining the way your legs would kick back and forwards if you were sat on a chair. You began to lean into his side, head resting on his chest as he ran his hands up and down your side. He took pride in his wealth, yet he'd give it all up to spend the rest of his life with you.
╰┈➤• ➵ ✩ Boothill
Cold metalic hands rested on your face, covering your eyes as you followed the raspy voice that guided your steps. You could feel your feet leave the familiar steel of the ship, stepping onto softer ground as you kept moving forward. A sweet aroma reached your nose, causing confusion to spark. Just where was he leading you? You suddenly were forced to stop as the cyborg behind you halted in his movements, counting to 3 before lifting his hands from your face. After your eyes focused to the bright light of the area, you gazed over the field of iridescent flowers, all shades of the rainbow clashing in something so beautiful yet chaotic. You let out a shocked sound akin to a gasp, crouching to feel the soft petal of a flower between your fingertips. Boothill grinned behind you, sharp teeth almost radiating light as they reflecting the rays from the sun. He pulled his hat off his head, instead placing it on yours as you rose to your feet again. "Found it when chasin' one of 'em muddlefudgers, thought ya might like it sweetheart." He took a step back from you, turning as he pulled his phone from his pocket. You watched as he aggressively whispered into the device, trying to get something through the voice recording. You waited patiently for the cowboy to finish messing with the device, watching him struggle and release a string of censored curses. After a few moments a gentle melody started playing, a familiar song of the piano you both adored. He turned up the volume enough to be heard when the phone was returned to it's place. Boothill offered his hand, pulling you to sway with him when you grasped it, his other hand dropping to your waist. Your hand moved to his shoulder, stepping in time with him as you both moved in harmony. You followed the familiar steps, careful to avoid stepping on the flowers that bloomed around the field. His hand raised higher above your head, spinning you around before catching you by the waist when you fell back. He straightened you up, hand moving to pull his hat back as he placed a tender kiss against your lips. You couldn't help but be reminded of your wedding, a small but heart felt celebration being held on your home planet. Even if the memories of the night were tarnished, the both of you still held onto the dance from that night, treating it as your own little tradition. No matter how many years were to pass, he would still choose to do it every anniversary.
╰┈➤♱✮♱ Blade
You sat on the couch in the corner of Kafka's room, watching as looked over another article of clothing. You sat in a mess of an outfit, half formal and half casual as she decided on the rest of what you should wear. You were unsure why, but all you knew was this was gonna be the death of you. A bundle of clothing hit your face as she pushed you into her bathroom, telling you to put on what she had chosen out. You had to admit it was nice, yet you still remained oblivious to the true intentions behind her dolling you up. When you re-entered the bedroom, she was no where to be seen. You opted to walk out and look for her, instead running into your partner. Blade Looked you up and down, his dark blue-red Ombre hair falling over his eyes. Instead of his usual attire, he wore a black suit, looking messily put on. He looked annoyed as he took your hand, tugging you down the long corridor towards the exit of the base. He gave a displeased grunt when you failed to fall into step with him, slowing his movements to match your pace. "Kafka told me to take you out to dinner, hurry up or we'll be late." You gave him a look of confusion before remembering the holiday, realising what was happening. A smug grin etched onto your face as you wrapped your arm around his, leaning against him obnoxiously. "Oh, do I get a date? Well aren't you just the sweetest guy ever." Blade glared at you as he forced you to walk faster, grumbling to you to not get used to it. You both stopped when you reached his car, the reflective red gleaming in the overhead lights. You pushed you by between your shoulder blades to the passenger side, opening your door for you. You took your seat before the pushed the door shut, moving to his own side again as you strapped yourself in. One hand sat on the wheel after the car started up, the other resting against your thigh with a gentle squeeze as he pulled out, driving towards his chosen destination. His crimson eyes left the road, meeting yours as he trusted the auto driving mechanism to not fail. He leaned his face towards yours, pressing his lips against yours before moving to your neck, repeating the action. "You look nice though, suits you darling."
he moved his attention back to the road, speeding down the highway towards his chosen restaurant, being none other than your favourite. If it wasn't for the damn reservation Kafka bought, he'd rather be at home with you in his arms.

╰┈➤ʚ୨୧⋆ɞ Robin
You waited backstage for a certain halovian, listening to her voice as it echoed from where she was preforming. As sat leaning against a crate, a small gift bag in one hand neatly organised to her liking. Though you couldn't take all the credit, haven gotten in contact with her brother to know her favourite flower, having failed to have her mention it in idle conversation. A wrapped bouquet rested against the top of the wood behind you, bundles of small iridescent flowers with a purple hue slightly ruffled from your quickened pace as to not be late. You heard the music from the theatre come to an end, round of applause sounding as Robin's angelic voice came to an end. You watched as the flocked, red curtains were pushed aside, purple hair bouncing as she rushed down the steps. The sound of her heels clicking reached your ears as she made her way to you, arms wrapping around your neck as you placed on hand on the small of her back. Her emerald eyes met yours as she leaned back, giving you a small greeting. You grabbed the wrapped stems of the flowers, offering the items in your now full hands to the angel before you. "Happy valentines dove, you were amazing out there." You gave her a genuine smile, falling off guard when she threw herself back into your arms, chants of gratitude being spoken for your ears alone. Releasing you from her embrace, she let the bundle of flowers rest in the crook of her elbow, using her spare hand to pull the contents from the bag. A black box sat in her open palm, being opened to reveal a pearl necklace, specifically chosen to match her preowned bracelet. As she looked at you, you carefully took the necklace from her gloved hand, moving her hair to the side to clasp it around her neck. You gently repositioned her hair, running your fingers through the strands to brush it out. Robin gave you a look of defeat, a partial look of guilt on her face while she pouted. "I'll get your present to you as soon as we get home darling, I didn't think to bring it with me here." She shook her head, wrapping her arm around yours as she started walking towards the exit, wings fluttering blissfully. As she walked hand in hand with you, she couldn't help but think of what to get you next time, wanting to make it special. Because in the end, you were her freedom. ╰┈➤✩ ♬ ✩ Serval
You sat on the bench in the Neverwinter workshop, legs crossed, waiting for your girlfriends return. You tinkered with a small gadget she had left beside you, trying to figure out it's purpose while being mindful of it's fragile nature. Lost in thought, you failed to process the sound of the door squeaking open, nor the sound of footsteps that advanced towards you. Serval came up beside you, hands wrapping around your waist as she leaned against you, looking over your shoulder at what you were messing with. You flinched at the sudden cold hands that placed themselves around you, turning to meet cerulean eyes. She picked up the bundle of flowers she dropped on the bench behind you, offering them with a fond smile. "Here ya go sweetheart, happy valentines." Her face returned to your side as you placed the device back where you got it, hand moving to run through the coloured streaks of her hair. You untangled your legs as you moved them off the surface, thighs resting on either side of Serval as her arms wrapped tightly around your waist, face pressed against your chest as you massaged her scalp. You sat in a comforting silence, basking in each others presence, gently rocking back and forwards. The blaring sound of her ringtone echoed throughout the enclosed space, causing her to groan as she pulled herself from your embrace. She aggressively tapped her painted nails against the screen, scrolling to see the notification from her younger brother. She loved him wholeheartedly, but she stood wanting to strangle him for disrupting her time with you. You hopped off the desk, moving to walk behind her as she rushed around the workshop, grabbing things you couldn't name and shoving them in a random bag she grabbed off the rack. She slung it over her shoulder after zipping it up, turning to you with a look of guilt. "Sorry lovely, gotta go fix another generator, those useless engineers just can't grasp my design. I'll take you to dinner later, yeah?" Your hands dropped to her waist, placing a tender kiss on her lips that she quickly leaned into. When she pulled away, her hand raised to ruffle your hair quickly, giving a lazed wave as she began to walk towards the front entrance. As soon as she was done, she was going to give you the date you deserved. Even after dating since she was a researcher for the architects, she would still give you her everything. Because you were the one who stood beside her all those years ago
╰┈➤🎸⋆⭒˚ Gepard
You watched as the snowflakes fell, landing against the cobbled streets of Belobog, melting upon contact with the heated stone. You made your way towards the small restaurant agreed upon with your lover. the small wrapped presents sat in your bag, resting to your side as you saw the diner come into view. You came to a stop outside, deciding to wait for him before going inside. It didn't take long before heavy footsteps came towards your direction, the sound of armour clashing together sounding out. You watched as the blond man came to a halt before you, taking a moment to catch his breath before sputtering out an apology, offering you the bouquet of ball peony's in his grasp. "For you my love, happy valentines." Gepard gave you an apologetic, but charming smile as you took them from him, apologising for his tardiness. You pulled him inside the cosy building, out of the blistering cold of your planet. You both ordered a warm drink, moving to sit in the far corner due to the lack of customers.
You both fell into a small chat until your drinks came, taking a quick sip that made a satisfied sigh fall from your parted lips. You never really did get used to the cold, the warmth of your drink radiating and heating your hands. You placed your drink back on the small saucer it came on, reaching into your bag to pull out the first present, a small 1 marked on it. You passed the rectangular gift to Gepard, trying not to let a mischievous grin form on your face. He slowly unwrapped it, only ripping the paper when necessary. When the cover came into view, he paused, a displeased look plastered on his face as he stared at you. Singing for dummies. You let out a low chuckle before reaching back into your bag, handing him the actual present you had chosen for the man. This gift was smaller, but upon opening it you could see a shimmer in his blue eyes. With the help of his sisters, you managed to compile a folder of photos for the sentimental man. A collection of memories of you four. Gepard delicately took your hand, placing a tender kiss to the back before setting your hand on the table, not releasing it from his hold. The thick padding of his glove wasn't uncomfortable like initially imagined, instead being oddly comforting, like a constant reminder of his will to protect you. Because you were his world, and he would forever be your shield.

There is No Law that Emperors Must be Fair
Emperor ! Jing Yuan x Princess ! Reader
Chapter 14 | Breakfast Delights
Summary | You are set to marry the Emperor, Jing Yuan. In order to break the engagement, you stage an accident and fake having amnesia. But now, your own cruel, cold, and distant fiancé, who seemed to not want anything to do with you, is now acting all lovey dovey!
Previous | Fic Masterlist | Next

Jiaoqiu flicked his tail back and forth his eyes narrowed as Moze told him everything he needed to know. He ended up sighing as he crossed his arms over his chest, “that… definitely puts a damper on everything.”
Moze looked away, “if I had acted sooner, then we could have already taken care of it.”
“That, will be a problem for later, for now, you should leave. The Emperor and the princess will be here any moment,” Jiaoqiu said.
Moze waved a dismissive hand before disappearing into the shadows, and right on time he heard everyone in the dining room immediately started to scatter about. They’re here. Straightening out his clothes, he plastered on a smile on his face and walked out of the main kitchen.
“Jiaoqiu! Feixiao hasn’t come to collect you yet?”
He bowed in greeting to both the Emperor and to you, “I’m afraid so, hopefully though, we won’t be in your hair much longer as Feixiao is finishing up her little hunt.”
Jing Yuan hummed as he turned to look at you, “y/n, this is Jiaoqiu he’s a retainer for one of my generals.”
“This general is … Feixiao?”
You’ve heard of her. One of Jing Yuan’s trusted generals who currently occupies the Yanqing providence. If your own country was next to your providence, then you were sure she would have been far kinder than what Jing Yuan had did in order to take over. At least, that is your opinion, but only because you have heard only good things when it came to Feixiao.
Jing Yuan nodded to your question, “she’s someone I trust dearly, but … I fear she hates my very existence.”
Jiaoqiu chuckled softly, “I wouldn’t say hate, Emperor, it’s more of a dislike with how you do things sometimes.”
With how they were talking about her, you wondered if she could be a potential ally, well, you would have to meet her first of course.
“When will her hunt be over?”
Jiaoqiu answered quickly, “she should be arriving back here later today.”
GRUMBLE G R U M B L E GRUMBLE
“Sorry…, I’m hungry,” you managed to say just as the two looked at you. Pure embarrassment filled your very being as both men seemed to chuckle at your expense. Why must your stomach be the first to betray you in this life?
Patting your hand, Jing Yuan led you to the dining table, and unlike in a previous life, you found yourself seated right next to him, and unlike before, he wasn’t sitting at the head of the table. No, he was sitting on the side with you.
At least, that’s what you could see when he sat you down and pushed your chair in for you before retrieving a seat to sit it right next to your own.
“You look as if I did something odd, little sparrow.”
You never know if he’s going to call you princess, by your name, or by that new nickname. You hope he doesn’t add anything else.
“Well… correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t Emperors and Kings usually sit at the head of the table?”
Even Jiaoqiu, who saw the scene as off could agree with you before heading back into the kitchen.
“We’re to be married one day. I don’t want you to sit at my right or my left when I’m at the head of table,” a shiver ran down your spine as his attention was solely on you, the gold in his eyes seeming to shine with an emotion you couldn’t quite place, “soon we’ll be equals and you’ll rule by my side, so if I were to sit at the head of the table, then you would have to sit on lap, no?”
Before you could stop yourself from saying something stupid, you went ahead and did anyway, “or I could sit at the other end.”
He took a moment to take in your response, your words seeming to catch him off guard as he let out a laugh, and before you could move away his hand was already outstretched as and gently caressing your cheek, “but you would be so far, little sparrow.”
“Then simply get a shorter table.”
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?1 I HAVE AMNESIA NOT AN ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF COURAGE AND SASS!!
You remembered Boothill’s words and desperately hoped that the Emperor didn’t cut off your tongue.
“You’re so cute,” he said whilst gently pinching your cheek.
Frowning you turned your head away slightly, “stop teasing me, Yuan.”
“But it’s so fun.”
You huffed and turned to look forward just as the servers started to come out with the food and just as you did, your eyes met Sunday’s. He was leaned back in the chair, his wings elegant and bent beautifully framing his face and his lips were tilted into a soft, knowing grin.
“Don’t forget who the enemy is.”
You felt something odd then, like a thick fog clouding your mind.
The… enemy?
You raised a hand to your forehead, a sudden ache surfacing too quickly and too suddenly.
“Are you feeling alright?”
You looked at Jing Yuan and smiled as a plate of breakfast was set in front of you, “yes, I’m sorry. My head just started to hurt for a moment.”
“Did you remember something?”
You shook your head, “n- no, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize… if you don’t remember, then you shouldn’t worry about it. It’ll all come back to you eventually. You should eat and relax.”
You nodded as you turned to your plate, it all looked so good-
“Cold!”
You just about jumped out of the seat when you felt something cold and wet spill on your lap.
Looking up, you saw Jiaoqiu and a familiar looking maid, probably the one maid that hated you more than all the others which was saying something because none of the maids likes you at all.
“Princess!”
“I’m so sorry! Please forgive me, princess!”
Even when she bowed to you, you knew deep down that one word from you could make or break this girl’s future especially with the way that Jing Yuan has been acting towards you.
Jiaoqiu acted quick as he got a napkin from the table and gently laid it over your lap, “I apologize princess, I was coming to deliver your drink to you when this maid bumped into me.”
The maid scoffed “of course the yanqing retainer is trying to put the blame all on me! How typical.”
By this point you weren’t sure if the maid was trying to ruin the Yanqing’s reputation or yours. Maybe even both at the same time.
You jumped a little again when you felt Jing Yuan’s palm on your lap, his hand lightly pressing against the napkin to help soak up the liquid that currently clung to the cloth of your dress. For a moment you forget he was there, silently observing everything. You briefly wondered if you shown any signs of truth, but decided to think about it later.
“Th- thank you,” you managed to say as Jing Yuan merely patted your thigh in response and turned his head up to look at the two who were still squabbling with one another.
“Enough.”
That shut them up real quick.
“Jiaoqiu, get another drink for y/n and you,” he pointed his glare to maid, “go clean y/n’s room and set out another dress for her to wear.”
The two bowed and replied with a yes, emperor as to not trouble him further. And you could only look at Jing Yuan in wonder. Did he always have this level of patience or was he toying with everyone?
And just as you were about to say something to him, Blade came into the dining room, his face set with annoyance.
“And what troubles you today, Blade.”
Jing Yuan’s tone held a hint of amusement within it, the serious atmosphere from before almost dissipated completely.
“A message from her father, along with a stubborn messenger.”
“How … wonderful.”
I have a message?

hiii for your event (CONGRATS BY THE WAY!!!) I'd like to request
"hey, no crying... I thought we said we wouldn't cry" with jing yuan please and thank you
Warmth of the living
✧ jing yuan x gn!reader
✧ prompts used: "hey, no crying... I thought we said we wouldn't cry" || 1k event
✧ content: established relationship, hurt/comfort, spoilers for xianzhou storyline, we are still stuck in the jing yuan recovery era after phantylia fight
✧ a/n: istg if this man goes into the next patch half beat up and ready to intervene i'm actually sentencing him to a house arrest cause GODDAMN. in a way this can be seen as an alt version of my other fic 48 hours tbh. i just can't imagine any other scenario where that sentence specifically is used by itself than the recent events - so sorry for the same sorta events, i'll make sure it's the last one though!
NOT BETA-READ CAUSE I LITERALLY WROTE THIS ALL IN 30 MINUTES THE MOMENT I GOT SOME MOTIVATION FOR IT HAHA
"Lady Bailu is taking care of him as we speak, [Name]. Please excercise some patience and believe in her - she's not titled the best healer of Luofu for no reason," Fu Xuan tries to comfort as you pace back and forth at the Seat of Divine Foresight - a hand massaging her temples as she looks towards the mountains of unopened scrolls needing to be read through within the day, "... If it helps, I've also foreseen that he won't be in any immediate danger. He's fine and he's going to recover."
That diviner noticed that her assurance seemed to ease you to the point you let out a long shaky exhale before sitting down at one of the steps leading to the grand desk, combing a hand through your hair for the nth time, "You haven't rested either with helping both me and Qingzu arrange documents and various meetings with the Six Charioteers. Why don't you try to take a walk outside the Exalting Sanctum?" Fu Xuan suggests, but you merely shake your head with a chuckle.
"If I leave you'll be more overwhelmed than you already are. Qingzu is even starting to pity you, lady Fu Xuan," you start, taking a deep breath in before standing up again, "Besides, if I leave the Seat, I just know I'll go running to where he is, I don't think that would help any of us now, would it?" you say with a light-hearted chuckle.
Fu Xuan didn't comment on the fact that your voice was trembling slightly as you spoke.
You can visit the general now. Please bring me some tuskir wraps, I'm hungry.
The message was sent as you had just placed a plate of food in front of Yanqing, almost dropping the contents entirely over the table if the young lieutenant didn't notice the grip you had on it falter and catching it in time, "Woah- [Name] I was looking forward to eating your food today! What would I do if you just suddenly do something like... that..." Yanqing's words died down when he saw your widened eyes, but a quick look at the sender of the message made him let out a relived sigh, only leaning back and picking up his chopsticks, "Why not visit the general instead of staring at your screen like that? It's not like you will be able to be able to teleport yourself to his location by doing that."
Yanqing's words made you snap out of your surprise, rushing towards the entrance, "Lock up after me! And give-"
"Mimi her food, I know! Just go!"
You knew that your worry was not needed. You knew that no matter how much you worried and that no matter how many times you wished for things to go differently that day that none of it would happen, "What happens and what has happened will inevitably stay like that no matter how much you try to alter it. And if my life can ensure that the rest of Luofu can stay safe then that is ultimately the best outcome in the long run, don't you agree, dear?" is what Jing Yuan had told you after the both of you had gone through his initial plan to handle the crisis.
You knew that he was right, which was why you bit your tongue and confirmed his plan. As the general of Luofu and as an official handling the lives of the people - you both knew that his plan, although reckless would yield the best results instead of sacrificing lives where it was not needed.
You knew.
But as you stand before him in person and get a thorough look at him you can't help but wish things had gone differently that day when he came to you with a final plan - a final play.
You wished that you had let your selfish mind overtake your logical mind for a second and beg him to come up with something else. Anything that didn't involve setting himself in danger.
But you didn't, and now you're seeing the very consequences of not doing so in front of you.
His skin is paler than usual, there's bandages wrapped around his torso, his forearms and even a few of his fingers. The usual spark in his eyes are dimmed slighty. There's an air of exhaustion around him, like he's trying his best to stay awake even though he desperately wants to sleep, but his smile is still the same.
The same reassuring, convinning and gentle smile he gives you when you greet him at the Seat of Divine Foresight, when you return home after work and he's home before you and when you run into each other on the streets of Luofu. And yet you can't find yourself to smile back, your fingers tightly twisting the material of your garments while you struggle to let out a word, a sound or anything at all to even try to match his own effort to reach out to you.
But you can't, you can't bring yourself to speak, and every time you open your mouth you can only make a tiny sound that sounds like a wheeze. But before you can try to recollect yourself, your eyes widen when Jing Yuan forces himself to sit in an upright position, snapping back to reality when you hear his quiet grunt of pain.
However you're not able to tell him to lay back down again (as Bailu had instructed he does) before he grabs a hold of your hands and pulls you into his arms with quiet coos and a low chuckle, "No crying... I thought we said we wouldn't cry over things like this?" he whispers, pulling slightly back to instead cup your cheeks, thumbs caressing the few tears that had managed to fall down from your eyes with a gentle gaze.
It tears you utterly apart how your wellbeing is still his priority than his own recovery.
"That... was a different... situation," you manage to squeeze out, bringing your hands up to rub the tears away yourself.
You didn't know when the tears began to form, nor when they began to fall.
"I know I'll lose you one day to the mara, as much as you're aware that you might lose me to it as well - and that's what we promised not to cry over! We never agreed to this sort of situation!" you croak out, trying your best to stop the tears from flowing. You know it's a silly comparison - Jing Yuan would much rather die out in the battlefield protecting the Luofu and the alliance than fall victim to the curse. You know, but your selfish self won't accept that outcome - even though you know such an outcome is the best for the general of Luofu.
"I agreed to this plan of yours, yes. I also agreed knowing that you're essentially putting your own life at risk yes, but still!" you sob, raising a closed fist to lightly beat down on his already battered body, "Knowing that you still came back safe just made every possible scenario of things that could go wrong and knowing they didn't and that you're here right now- scolding me of all things for crying in relief just makes this seem more surreal so you out of everyone can't fault me for actually crying because I was preparing a starskiff for the soul-soothing ceremony in the background for aeons sake," you rasp out, ending the whole rant with a saddened chuckle.
Jing Yuan merely laughs in return, one arm wrapping around your waist while his free hand pushes your head into his chest while gently patting your head, his body shaking with his soft chuckles when he feels your tears wet his garments again, "I'm fine dear, I just need to be in bedrest for a while. I'm not leaving anytime soon, so stop those tears, okay? You know I can't handle it when you cry," he whispers, bending his head down slightly to kiss the crown of your head softly.
"Just let me cry this one out, I don't think I've cried for a good couple of years," you murmur, burying yourself further into his chest, the arms you have wrapped around him squeezing a tiny bit - making Jing Yuan let out a small yelp of surprise from the force.
He's warm, you notice. His heart is beating and you can feel his chest rise up and down with every breath he takes. You can feel his fingers run through your head, you can hear the his nonchalant commets of his observations of the room in the commission amidst the otherwise silent room. And you can feel his whole body when he shuffles a bit to rest his back to the wall while he himself tries to squeeze you a bit tighter to reassure you.
Everything indicating that he's alive for another day.
And only after that do you finally feel like you can breathe again.
another request that had the same scenario in it!

Could I request jing yuan x fem_zhongli!reader? I think it would be fun to incorporate how much older she is and maybe spar with jing yuan and yanqing teaching them new moves? You could also add a bit of angst if you want with the fact that zhongli has admitted that with time, his memories do start to erode.
This is actually fuelling my brainrot. I'll incorporate the dragon part too. And other requests are coming out soon.
I kept her as a friend because the age gap bothered me alot. Warning: bad writing.
The situation was dire, the Denizens were wreaking havoc upon the ship. The Cloud Knights who remained strong, felt fear for the first time. What kind of tragedy would this bring?
All they could do was hold faith in their General and keep fighting with hopes high. Jing Yuan could the hope entrusted upon him by his subordinates but all seemed to be in vain. He was gravelly injured and his life was draining out of his body.
But with unknown fortune, appeared a figure that launched ginormous spears accompanied by meteors all raining on the enemy finishing it quickly.
Relief and suspicion overshadowed all his former emotions. Who was this figure? Most importantly, the motive behind their help. However he saw this same silhouette fall. He rushed forward to catch this unknown saviour, as he inched closer, he saw it was a woman who seemed to be half conscious. He held out his hands in time to catch this mysterious lady.
————
"She's fine." The Dragon Lady assured, her doe eyes darting from the unconscious woman on the bed to the General infront. "But, she's also a dragon and similar but different from us. I believe she's a sicon of Qilopoth(Preservation) as we are Long's(Premembrance) Sicons."
"A sicon of Preservation?" He titled his head. From what he witnessed in the battlefield, it looked more like you followed the path of the Hunt or Destruction rather than Preservation. But protecting also serves a form of Preservation.
A grumble came from the lady's mouth drawing both of their attention. "Looks like she's waking up, I'll leave you both to talk, General." Bailu took her leave.
"Where?" The lady mummered getting up. "You're in the Alchemy commision." Jing Yuan answered.
"I'm here to question you." He added.
"First question, what is your name?"
"Zhongli."
"Where do you hail from?"
"From Liyue."
That response made him speechless. Liyue as in the place where the Xianzhou Empire's origin were.
"Explain."
"Huh? I hail from Liyue.. that's it."
"How old are you?"
The lady fell silent. "600.."
"Don't lie. Liyue is a place where the Xianzhou Empire arrived and that was 5000 years ago. The planet of Teyvat was abandoned." He narrowed his and his tone only got stern.
"..6000."
"hmm.." He wasn't questioning the age but it felt like you were hiding something.
But all would come to light because you'd still have to attend the trail between the alliance and take responsibility. Your deeds may be good but they still need to know your intentions. A person who can showcase such power can also stab them in the back.
"That concludes as what the suspect had told." Jing Yuan finished his report.
"Very well. Lady Zhongli.. You admit that your home place is the Loufu. If you're as old as you admit, would mind telling the ruler of that period?" Marshal Hua started her questioning.
"Jade lady, Ningguang." You answered calmly.
"I believe you know what happened in that timeline as well?"
"Yes, the lord of Geo, Morax died in that period." You hoped she wouldn't catch you.
"Are you perhaps a descendant or successor of Morax?
"..Yes." You knew well that your lie would be caught soon enough.
"Let me revise history, the lord Morax, had no descendants or successors. It was later found that his death was just a masquerade as he stepped down from his position. What statment can you give to prove that you're him?" The Marshal's statement may sound rash but she wasn't wrong in the slightest. History states that Morax can change forms.
"..I have nothing to say in regard to that."
"Tell me your age again."
"11,000.."
And with some other questions, you were revealed to be the Ancient lord of money, Morax. But Mora really didn't have a value in this economy of credits.
"That concludes are trial. You are free to go."
————
"Phew." You could handle intense questioning very well but your age caught up to loads of time.
However, instead of a foreign traveler's recognition, you were given citizenship. You know the Alliance was making use of you but you always had the option to leave. Coming to basic needs, you'd be living in the Cloud Knights Quaters.
————
"hmmh.." The kid grumbled not being able to get his stance right.
"Your footing is wrong, you need to have a firm balance on the ground to get your strike correct." You fixed the young man's position.
"Do you also work the Cloud Knights?" The kid was interested in knowing your identity.
"So not only are you excelled in ancient literature but also weapon handling, though that doesn't come as a surprise, you did invent the methods of swordsmanship and pole arm handling that are used till this day." Jing Yuan appeared randomly.
"General!, You mean this lady?" The kid turned to you. "Greetings lord.. Lady of Geo." The kid bowed formally.
"You don't have to bow kid, I've long stepped down from that position."
"And humble as well."
This small interaction really sparked Yanqing's curiosity. He could ask as much questions as why even the trivial things mattered. As for Jing Yuan, his moves only got more perfect with your guidance. If Jingliu would've been here, she would've taken a liking to you even Dan Feng..
He sighed, these thoughts would never be possible. He looked at you who was looking at his weapon, commenting on it's quality and full of details quality.
"General! a mara wave is coming through." A knight informed.
"Advise the civilians to stay in their homes and form a stance around the creatures, don't let them escape." Jing Yuan ordered quickly.
A blade came through the formation, it's aim to lodge into the General's chest but it disseminated into the area when it met with impenetrable shield.
"General are you okay?" You asked.
Now he understood why you were form the path of preservation. "Yes."
You were old.. Ancient would be a better them. But your stories where better that those pesky writers in the Alying Sanctum.
You could be considered a role model and a person to go to. You had advice, were calm and just had that social butterfly effect.
But being old has it's downsides often. As your age increases, erosion casts it's effect. You forget trivial things and even names unless they were in your daily interactions.
"..." You groaned walking through the corridors.
"Do you need help, lady of Geo?" A passing Cloud Knight asked.
"..Do you remember where my room is?"
".. It's on the east wing close to the General's chamber. You're in the west wing."
"..oh. where is the east wing again?"
"Let me guide you."
Although the situation of you forgetting your wallet was funny, as it was also saddening that you would succumbed to life where you would forget everyone and everything.
In the Xianzhou terms, Mara wouldn't have an effect on you but at the cost that you would be forgetting bits of yourself and there's nothing you can do about it.
I tried my best to crossover elements from both games and something has happened to my english. Thos fancy words don't come out anymore. And it's so short...

Characters: Jing Yuan and Dr. Ratio x Gender-neutral Reader
Synopsis: Holding hands
Warnings: Fluff and spelling mistakes, ooc for Dr. Ratio since he's not out yet
Handing hands pt 1 (Blade, Dan Heng, & Sampo)
𝒥𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒴𝓊𝒶𝓃
“Wanna hold your hand while you work?” you ask, hoping he’d say yes to you, which is always true. “It seems that someone is really needy today,” you tease. “Well yeah, I missed you and want to touch.” You blush while he holds your hand while doing paperwork.
“I’m busy as general y’know.” he tells you before you shoot back at him “If you were so busy, you wouldn’t have bothered to hold my hand or anything, so you're not as busy as you say”.
He sighs before answering, “You know me so well, darling,” before kissing your hand. He smiles at you after that before continuing with his work, and you smile back happily before going back to whatever you were doing before. You both share a comfortable silence.
𝒟𝓇. 𝑅𝒶𝓉𝒾𝑜
“Show me your palm for me, my dear." Ratio asks with a smile that looked more devious than gentle, "Sure?" You put your hands in front of him and spread your fingers apart in front of him, a little unsure of what to expect from his actions next, his eyes darting between your palms and you, the intensity of his gaze causing you worry. "Is there something wrong?" you ask cautiously, leaning forward a bit.
He just creases the lines on your palms. "I want to read your future," he responds, which makes you look at him funny; he must be messing with you now! "Read my future by looking at my palm. We both know that is not true." You smile at him and chuckle at his answer, "Wait a little." He says, focusing on a particular line on your right hand, his eyebrows furrowing, "Put your hands in the air."
Then he looks up from your palm towards your face before wrapping his hand around yours.
Uh, was this his around-about way to just hold your hand?
"If you wanted to hold hands, you could have just asked!" You beamed with happiness. "I don't know what you're talking about," he denied, his hand tightening around yours as if trying to pull it closer.
His cheeks were tinted pink with a slight blush that covered them. "Are you sure, you seem a little red?" you tease him; he shakes his head in denial, but his lips are twitching upward slightly. "It was a trick, and you didn't think hard enough and fell into my trap." He quickly recovers from before, a sly smirk pulling on his lips.
You giggle at his words, "What a pity; I'm such an airhead that fell for your tricks again." You reply back, going along with him whatever he wants.
if you liked this, consider tipping me on ko-fi! it'd mean a lot!

Gayly crashes inside here/J
Anyways may I request a Jing Yuan with [platonic] bio-child reader.. Who has the most chaotic personality ever [ft sharing the same braincells as Yanqing] thank youuu
— 🫶🏻 Anon with a teddy bear gift 🧸
A/N: THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT, I’LL TREASURE IT FOREVER 🧸 I HOPE YOU’LL LIKE THIS
Genre/Trope: Platonic + Family (JY, You and Yanqing!) + Crack
Format: Bullet Pointed Scenarios/HC
Warnings: None
Extra: Reader is a teen in this // Single Father JY again but he loves his kids // Yanqing will be your younger brother for this // Reader works under Fu Xuan // Not fully proofread // Some mentions of modern day stuff but time is still taken in the HSR Universe
Loveable Headaches - Platonic Dad! Jing Yuan x Reader
Jing Yuan really does love his children, both you and Yanqing...but you two never seem to give him a break do you? From your brother always buying swords to you deciding to dramatically gasp about the future, causing them to be scared when all that happened was that they trip over a pebble the next day...
On a day where he wished he could be sleeping having done all his paperwork (or...most of them) Fu Xuan comes barging in dragging you behind her, glaring at the man. And although making people scared of their future is rather bad when you're a diviner...he can't help but chuckle sometimes Fu Xuan tries to make him lecture you.
Fu Xuan: General Jing Yuan, your kid started laughing when they saw someone's future. Jing Yuan: Is that so? What did they laugh at? Fu Xuan: A poor guy who got jump scared by a ca- Jing Yuan: Wheeze Ah ahem I mean, they did?
When you and Yanqing are hanging out together. It's either Yanqing being the responsible one and leading you out of trouble, or the other way around. Not one time have you two shared a brain cell and thought logically. At rare times, both of you would have no brain cells and Jing Yuan would have a Cloud Knight knocking at his office and bringing the two rascals who scared the trainee knights.
When Mimi first grew up and the family realised she was in fact a lion, you climbed on her back and began riding her around like a horse.
[Name]: Go Mimi go!! Jing Yuan: Sweetie…please get off her. [Name]: What why? D: We're both feline great Jing Yuan: *Trying not to laugh* G-good one…but you're gonna get hurt.
You and Yanqing probably on more than one occasion tried to go into R rated films when you both were younger. Unluckily for you, everyone knows the Generals kid.
The Dozing General loves his naps and sleep but he also loves you!...But if he hears you playing "We Will Rock You" at 3am in the morning with pots and pans one more time-
Honestly you give Fu Xuan a headache too sometimes. We already said you laugh at a divination you give that scares the other person but you also tend to act disgusted, concerned or any negative emotion when reading future moments...this can either lead to you telling them what happened which is usually such a small thing or you not telling them, simply stating "Can't say, ruins the future"
You probably stole a bunch of things from his room, it worked out for a bit as he wasn't sure where everything was going but you revealed yourself as the lil thief when you tried to steal his heavy sword. (It's a sword right? Or smt??)
You made Jing Yuan wear a powerpuff girls outfit once for Halloween. If he was a powerpuff girl or Dr whatever his name was I forgot, is up to you.
Jing Yuan seems like the type of guy to give kids the big chocolate bars for Halloween, so he needs to hide them from you and Yanqing before Halloween is here or else the kids won't have any as you snatched them with your lil brother.
I see that when you and Yanqing were younger, you tried dressing up as each other, wearing wigs and each other's clothing to try and trick Jing Yuan...however, your clothes were too big on Yanqing, and his clothes were too small on you.
Yanqing tried to jump scare you once when you were using the hose for something, needless to say. Yanqing came back in the house absolutely soaked.
Perhaps one day, the two of you dressed up as Jing Yuan, he found it so adorable!! He took so many pictures of the 'Mini Generals'...he may or may not have attempted to take a day off, gesturing to the 'Mini Generals' and how they would do the work.
Fu Xuan: General…they're kids, they're not ready for your job Jing Yuan: Kids! That want to be me, why not train them? Fu Xuan: General Jing Yuan: Ah, no fun Madam Fu, I'm going I'll do my work, I'll do my work.
He questioned if you were a dog in disguise when you were like 5 tbh. Cuz you bit a lot of things, heck he once came into a meeting with you hanging off his arm...by biting him...doesn't hurt him but he did question where you learnt that.
Yanqing was adopted as a kid, when Jing Yuan first came home with the lil guy, and introduced him to you as your younger brother...you tried to make him fly by throwing him off the kitchen counter, to which THANKFULLY Jing Yuan has the quick reflexes to save Yanqing, he scolded you of course. And hey, good thing Jing Yuan did save your brother as you wouldn't have your partner in crime otherwise.
Idk if I made the reader chaotic or not but hopefully this was alrightwfiof.
Sorry for slow updates (I say as if I didn't mention I'd also be concentrated on other things). I'm going to some resort or something for a school tour(?) and apparently it has no wifi/signal, so wish me luck...gotta bond with my classmates.

The Grand Bet!
March: Dan Heeeeeng! Can you make dinner tonight?
Dan Heng: You didn’t eat with your masters?
March: We cut training short today. But get this! I bumped into master Yunli on the way here and she confessed her and Yanqing have Cloud Knight business to discuss at his. I would’ve loved to try his cooking!
Caelus:Ah, so you weren’t invited.
Stelle:You two would probably eat his budget.
March:Like you aren’t any different!? I wouldn’t eat that much. Surly less than someone like Jing Yuan.
Dan Heng:Oh, he’s joining as well. That means it’s possible all the Generals are.
March:W-Why? I just said Jing Yuan because why wouldn’t he be there?
Caelus:Why would he be?
March:Because……why would he miss a home cooked dinner? I know he’s busy but eventually he’d go home to at least leftovers.
CSD:…..
March:Why are you looking at me like that?
Caelus:March, Jing Yuan and Yanqing do not live together. Yanqing has his own residence.
March:Really?! All by himself!?
Dan Heng:He gets paid a lieutenant’s wage. He can afford an apartment easily.
March:Well that’s weird! Yunli didn’t mention that at all. I think I even mentioned how fancy the general’s house might be. She could’ve spoken up!
Stelle:Or she was fine with you being wrong.
March:So what, they’re having a dinner together? I wouldn’t tease her about that. Is it that embarrassing?
Dan Heng: What do you think is going to happen?
March:Eating and talking! Maybe someone will say something ridiculous. I guess it could be a date. That explains not inviting me.
Caelus:If that’s the case-
Stelle: Why not go to restaurant instead of his place? For Cloud Knight matters of all things!?
March:….*red* I don’t like what you’re implying!
Caelus: You mean the truth?
March:Not my adorable masters!
Dan Heng:It adds up. Neither of them seem like the type to be okay sharing a kiss in public.
Stelle:Dan Heng, nobody needs an entire apartment for a single kiss.
Dan Heng:…But they’re responsible.
Caelus:Now since when does that matter around a crush?
March:I refuse to hear you slander them. They’re far too awkward to get passed a dinner and a movie.
Dan Heng: That is Jing Yuan’s disciple. A kiss is on the table.
Stelle:I think you’re both wrong. March, your masters are totally making out. I do believe they’re responsible, but not that responsible! 20,000 credits on it.
March:Well I know them better and I think you’re wrong! 25,000 on just a dinner plus confessions!
Dan Heng: I’m sticking with kiss.
Caelus: Make out session.
Stelle: You can’t steal my-
Caelus:AND….they will be dumb enough to leave evidence. Somehow, some way, they are going to mess up.
Stelle:…Can we be one team?
Caelus:Oh now it sounds appealing!? We split it 60/40
Stelle:55/45! I’m broke. I will do your chores too.
Caelus:Fine.
Dan Heng:If you’re both wrong then you pay March and I 50,000 credits each.
March:Oh I love these odds!
Stelle and Caelus: Deal.
xxxxxx
The next day came quickly. The four stooges all waited in the training garden as Yanqing walked in.
Yanqing:Ummm did I get more students? Wasn’t expecting so many faces this morning.
Stelle:We had nothing else better to do so we thought we’d hangout for a minute.
March:Where’s master Yunli? You both usually race here to try teach your swordplay before the other.
Yanqing:Oh, um she’s probably a little busy. It’s not long before she goes home after all.
Dan Heng:It is getting close to that time. I could imagine her trying to make the most of her time left now that things are getting calm,
Yanqing:That does sound like something she’d do. *rubs head*
The stooges:(He’s holding out on us.)
March:Oh! I almost forgot. You two had dinner last night. Did it get well?
Yanqing:..It was fine. My cooking was criticized but she still ate two plates. We got through Cloud Knight business pretty quickly. Sorry I couldn’t treat you as well.
March:Water under the bridge. I’m amazed you two got along well enough. I thought I would hear another fight.
Yanqing:We don’t always fight.
Caelus:Then what’s the bruise on your neck?
The boy immediately went to adjust his collar, only to realize it was still perfectly in place. Suddenly, his body froze as he felt mortified. How’d he fall for such a bluff!? March and Dan Heng felt their wallets start to hurt while Caelus and Stelle gained a grin that might as will belong on Aha.
Stelle:What’s the matter Yanqing? You look pale.
Caelus:Kindly pull down your collar and we will go in peace.
Yanqing:You all made a bet, didn’t you?
Dan Heng:If it makes you feel better, March and I thought highly of you both.
Yanqing:I’m so sorry.
March:Nooo! *drops to knees*
Stelle:For clarification, you didn’t…
Yanqing:*red* Of course not! We aren’t dumb!
Stelle:Yeaaaaah! I expect my credits handed, not wired.
Caelus:*pats Yanqing shoulder* I don’t think they’re arguing with the results. Don’t worry about the collar.
Yanqing:Thank you.
Dan Heng:So, where’s Yunli exactly?
xxxxx
Lingsha:Medicine that removes bruises?
Yunli: *in Yanqing’s clothes* Yes. That’s all I require.
Lingsha:….
Yunli:…..Please don’t tell grandpa.
Lingsha:You have my silence. I’m just a little annoyed I now owe Jing Yuan and Feixiao 50,000 credits.
Yunli:YOU MADE A BET ON ME!?
Lingsha:In confidence, and you failed me! Just like that, they got the money back from the medical bill! *sends money*
xxxxxx
Feixiao:And that’s why you’re the Divine Foresight! We drink tonight!
Jing Yuan:Please, I’d rather not pay property damages with this. I’ll give you my share if you don’t drink until you’re home.
Feixiao:Deal!
Jing Yuan:…Was this your endgame?
Feixiao:Perhaps. Don’t worry. This goes towards a good cause.
xxxxx
Moze:How’s it feel?
Jiaoqiu: *holding cane* Natural. It’s pretty remarkable actually. How much was it?
Feixiao: *smiles* It was basically free.

CELEB JING YUAN?? ☁️
celebrity!AU jingyuan

彡- ,, a collection of my brainrots about dating jing yuan as diff types of celebs!
cw ⁞ none unless ur allergic to rich hot general fluff. not proofread.
an ⁞ this may be a little ooc, i apologise ehe. I TRIED PLEASE I PROMISE RGRGGRHRGHGRHG
imagine ceo!jingyuan picking you up from work at your office, patiently waiting for you in his car. he doesn't understand why you want to continue working when he's already mentioned countless times how he could provide for you. you'd never have to work a day in your life again! (lets pretend we're hardworking in this) he gets out of the car to greet you with a smirk before opening the car door for you.
"get in, princess."
you smile at him and thank him for sending you home again — this has become a habit of his, though he sees it more as his duty. you quickly arrive at his residence and were about to bid him goodbye when he suddenly stopped you — his hand gripping your wrist, reluctant to let go. you ask him what's wrong and he just has the saddest pout on his face, looking like a dejected, kicked puppy. (lion?)
"why won't you let me spoil you... i know how much you hate your boss, if you resign, you'll never have to deal with him again. i'll pay for whatever you'll ever want and need, darling," he murmurs sleepily, pulling you closer to him so he can rest his head on your chest. how are you supposed to say no to him like this?! you don't notice his smug smirk as he hears your heartbeat fasten rapidly — he already knows you'll give in to him this time. (sly mf)
imagine artist!jingyuan who sits in his studio everyday, painting his beloved lover onto countless numbers of canvases — his work forever preserved. they all lay untouched, scattered on the floor. he's displeased. you'd visit his studio occasionally and always find him grumbling and utterly frustrated with himself. usually, when he's hit with a creativity block like this, it passes within a couple of days but he's been in this state of discontent for weeks at this point.
"i've been painting for ages now but nothing is appealing," he groans.
you turn to look at the multiple canvases strewn all across the floor and you beg to differ but ultimately decided to stay quiet — you won't be able to understand an artist's grievances anyway. you comfort him to the best of your abilities and you can tell that he appreciates it a lot — the weight of his eyebags lifting slightly. you return to the studio a few days later to see it in a completely different state of mess, the canvases from before are now replaced by sludges of clay.
"oh, you're back. ah, so you've seen the ceramic statues. it's you, my love. it seems your beauty is so breathtaking that it must simply be portrayed in multiple forms of art."
imagine world renowned author!jingyuan who sits in his garden everyday, inscribing his poems on scrolls — the work forever preserved. he hums in satisfaction as he rolls up the piece of parchment, slotting it into a case before sending it off to you via his personal cycrane. you're already reading his first draft within a few hours and pointing out any mistakes he's made so carelessly — making sure to add sarcastic comments by the side to add salt to the wound. after a few days of corrections, the work is ready to be sold to the collectors — the two of you meeting up to thank them for the smooth transaction.
"must you be so cruel every time you mark my work, my love?"
"it's because you're so sloppy with your work, 'yuan. aren't you a famous author? hm?"
"sorry, i work best with a reward-based system. maybe you should give me a kiss for every grammatically correct sentence."
"if that's what will solve your problem then fine."
"don't act so cold, we both know you'd like that."
you notice that his writings have become longer and you haven't been able to spot any mistakes either. (rip your sore lips)

— An evening well spent
including: Jing Yuan
cw: !! NSFW !!, fem!reader, VERY SHORT, posted on mobile so formatting might suck sorry :( , one singular cl1t slap, c0ckwarming, implied unprotected p in v, still spreading my jing yuan is a bastard (affectionate) agenda , written very quickly there might be a few errors
w/c: 477 words
a/n: hallo everynyan my last nsfw kind of blew up and now my mentally ill ass is struggling because I am answerable to people now . but fuck it we ball. Wracjing my brain for more ideas so I can write more but if u have any requests then pls share!! sorry about the english again 🦅
NSFW BELOW !
There's no way you could concentrate.
Your bastard of a boyfriend had a wonderful suggestion when you told him of your troubles.
See, despite being a Xianzhou native, you had never been particularly fond of writing in the script and that was now coming back to bite you in the ass.
You'd gotten passing comments about it before, about how shabby it is or how it's almost illegible.
It seemed perfectly fine to you though, something for future you to worry about.
That was the case until your boss doubled down on you, her exact words being, “An outsider stepping foot on the Xianzhou for the first time would have a better handwriting than you.”
That was the last straw.
When you told Jing Yuan about it, he laughed for a few minutes before realizing you were deeply disturbed by this.
So, he offered a simple solution.
He'll help you practice the Xianzhou script for a month to help you get better handwriting.
The only catch? Well, he said there weren't any.
But, there's never not a catch with the general.
So, that ended up with you and him, settled in his private office at his home…
…With his cock stuffed inside you.
There's the expected catch. Who would've guessed the general found some way or the other to make sure he can have his way (consensually) with his darling partner.
Frankly, you don't know how he managed to get you to agree to this, maybe it was the fact that the two of you hadn't been intimate for a while or the fact that he knew you've always wanted to try cockwarming.
Maybe it was both.
You shook your head, trying to focus back on your shaking hand that was holding the brush.
“Have a tighter grip, you need to hold the brush a little more vertically for this set of the alphabet.”
Jing Yuan's deep voice echoed through your ears, turning your brain into mush.
But, you had to push on. He wasn't going to move until you finished writing a sentence perfectly and you knew for a fact that your dear boyfriend kept to his promises.
You took a deep breath, composing yourself before moving the brush again, making a perfect arch.
“There we go, that's my girl, hm. Doing so well. Just a little more, you can do it.”
He rested his head against your shoulder, bringing his hand to start rubbing lazy circles on your clit.
“Yu, stop that I—”
“Focus.”
A small slap to your clit made you flinch immediately, the extra ink in your brush spilling a few drops on the paper.
“Love, you ruined the paper.”
Shit.
“Looks like we'll have to start all over again, hm? What a shame.”
He tutted, almost sounding regretful but he was far from it.
…This was going to be a long night.

head over heels in the moment

s. what do you do when your wife goes from just being your love to being a mother? well, according to general jing yuan, you love her more. cw. fluff. domestic bliss. dad!jing yuan. toddler yanqing. just family wholesomeness basically. named oc/self-insert since this is for f/obruary! tw. not proofread (i mean i kinda did but it's 10pm over here so). wc. 1.4k pr. plushies a/n. i was supposed to post this on valentine's day, but life happened so... i started this and i didn't know where it was going until i landed on my baby having nightmares and it just kept going. some day i will write about jing yuan and natsu before yanqing came into their lives, but not today. cr. dividers by @/cafekitsune.

Jing Yuan stood against the doorframe of the master bedroom in his estate. He leaned lazily against the wooden structure, lazy smile dancing on his lips as his eyes focused on the petite frame of his wife. Natsu had not even noticed him—she was far too busy doing something the General did not quite understand. She was standing over their bed, gazing at three different stuffed animals with the seriousness of a war council between the Cloud Knights and the Divination Commission. It almost looked as if she were deciding if these soldiers were worth risking it all.
It would be endearing, if only Jing Yuan did not find himself more confused by the scene than in awe of it.
“My love?” He called, seemingly gentle yet the teasing undertone remained. “Are we judging those toys? Did they offend you somehow?”
Natsu turned around to face him, unamused. “Very funny, General.”
He straightened out, raising his hands in feign surrender. “What are we doing?”
She scoffed but turned back to look at the stuffed animals—a light-blue rabbit, a white lion, and a pastel-pink tuskpir. She observed them with such seriousness that the General couldn’t help but approach them as well, curious as to why his wife seemed so interested in them. Natsu barely looked up at him as he approached, not even reacting as he wrapped his arms around her waist to press her into his chest, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“Are those Yanqing’s?” He finally asked.
Natsu hesitated. “Not yet.”
He frowned. “Not yet?”
Natsu shook her head softly, one of her hands idly reaching to graze the rabbit’s ears. “Yanqing’s been having nightmares for a while now, we both know that. He wakes up in the middle of the night crying, and he calls for me in that terrified voice of his. If the nightmare is particularly scary, then he comes into our room and asks to stay with us. I was thinking that, maybe, if he had a companion…”
Jing Yuan smiled. “He wouldn’t be so scared?”
Natsu shrugged. “Maybe he’d feel a little braver. We don’t know what happened to him before you found him, and we also don’t know what he’s seeing in these nightmares…”
The General observed her for a few more moments in silence, noting the way her gaze softened as she looked at the stuffed animals she had chosen. They were proof of her unwavering love for their son—her desperate need to make him feel safer where her love couldn’t reach him, where her love couldn’t protect him. With a sigh, he pressed a kiss to her temple, both to comfort her and to dote on her. He then unwrapped himself from her to step closer to the bed, to the plushies.
“I am surprised that you did not choose the tuskpir right away,” He hummed, no teasing in his voice this time. “Don’t they help with anxiety?”
Natsu nodded. “Yes, a real one would. I doubt a toy would be so effective, and though I could have asked in the Alchemy Commission, I don’t want to give anyone the means to harm Yanqing. He’s still a baby.”
“He’s four.” Jing Yuan added, amused.
His wife elbowed him, scoffing. “He’s still a baby. Even if he carries around that sword and if he follows you into the Seat of Divine Foresight every day, he’s my baby.”
This time, the General erupted in good-humored chuckles, wrapping his arms around her again and cradling her against his chest. This was less for him and more for her—Natsu’s distress was evident the more she spoke. His big hand rubbed soothing circles on her back, while he pressed a kiss to her hair.
“You’re a good mom,” He uttered, once he felt that she had relaxed slightly in his arms.
“My child is having nightmares,” She shook her head. Ah, there it was—she blamed herself for this. “And all I can do is watch him cry every night.”
“And what does he do when he has a nightmare, hm?” He asked, voice soothing, hands rubbing her sides this time.
His wife hummed something unintelligible as she pressed her head against his chest.
“Natsu,” He called.
She looked up, vulnerability and guilt etched into every feature of her face. He barely ever called her name—he was more given to pet names, even when they were still young and had yet to endure the tragedies this life had thrown at them. He only ever used it in very specific situations, serious situations… like this one.
“He calls for his mom,” Jing Yuan continued, pressing a kiss to her forehead this time. “He calls for you. You are his safe haven, my love. Indeed, we do not know what his situation was before I brought him to you, and we may not know what his nightmares are… But despite all of that, he calls for his mom whenever he’s scared. You’re a good mom.”
She looked at him for a few seconds, allowing herself to fall to his pull—to focus on his sun-like eyes and forget a little of the worry that she carried. She hated this as much as she loved it; how easy he could pull her back together even when she felt herself ripping at the seams. His sweet smile slowly turned into a teasing grin under her gaze; she felt him nuzzle at her temple, as if to hide his expression, but they had been together for too many centuries for her not to notice her husband’s subtle changes.
Natsu sniffled, flush spreading through her cheeks as she looked away from his golden gaze. “Just pick one.”
Jing Yuan observed the toys again. “Do we have to?”
The reaction was immediate. His wife pulled away, a gasp on her lips, and words ready to fight. He took hold of her wrists, amusement etched into his smile, as he pulled her closer once more.
“You really can’t even choose a toy for your son?” She huffed, evidently offended.
“I didn’t mean it that way,” He chuckled. Natsu always thought of herself in lesser ways than anyone else, and right now, he wondered if she realized she was acting like a lioness protecting her cub—even from her own husband. “I am saying that we can ask him to choose, or we could give him all three.”
Natsu’s eyes widened. She hadn’t thought about that. She had been so focused on finding a solution…
“Three companions are better than just one,” She uttered, looking back at the toys. “They’ll keep him company.”
He hummed, wrapping his arms around her once again. He loved this—her, and her game of push and pull. The constant chase. Even now, after centuries of sharing their lives, devoting their lives to each other… She was still every piece of the girl he fell in love with when he was just a boy.
“Yeah, I like that,” She hummed back, burying her face into the expanse of his chest—always looking for a hiding place.
They stayed there for a few more seconds, merely enjoying each other’s warmth. Jing Yuan had never voiced it, but he found it almost funny how she fit within his arms—like a puzzle piece, made just for him. He had the strong urge to squeeze her, make her squeak like one of those noisy toys Yanqing kept, but he refrained. His love may be overwhelming most of the time, but right now she needed his comfort, not his teasing.
The soft sound of footsteps brought them back. Natsu pulled away slightly when she heard him, as if needing to double-check that it was her son—as if she didn’t already know.
“Mommy?” They heard.
“Welcome home, baby,” Natsu pulled away to receive him.
Jing Yuan watched her walk to the door of their room; he heard Yanqing’s excited laughter as Natsu finally held him. Despite his young age, the boy babbled about his day following the Cloud Knights, and the swords he saw, and how he couldn’t wait to start training. There was no trace of last night’s tears as Natsu brought him into the room to see his new friends.
Yes, she was still the same girl he fell in love with a lifetime ago… even if she had become the mother of a toddler that kept them on their toes.
And he would not change a thing.

yan! hsr - loucha and jing yuan
hello! this is the drabble for a poll that i hosted a while back. the winner was luocha and jing yuan so enjoy!
loucha and jing yuan.
their roles were very different in society but the one thing you could not stand.
their politeness.
it would be endearing if the actual relationship was formed via consent but not being able to accept no led to you in this mess. it was piss taking, their mannerism made jing yuan seem like a fine healer and loucha as prince charming but only if everyone knew the truth.
the illusion was shattered when you found your travelling visa to become invalid along with international scholars cancelling your invitations to academic events.
the tipping point was when you absentmindedly mentioned to loucha that you were debating about staying with a family's friend for a mental health retreat.
stating the gender was the biggest mistake.
but the general made your imprisonment happened, the foreigner healer have no zero influence in the xianzhou luofu, locking you up somewhere was the most that the blonde could do but jing yuan could do anything.
the political and social influence of the general spelled the ending of your life with free will. loucha became your chaperone and jing yuan would drop by whenever his duties lessened for a while.
so having both of them present during dinner was a rare event. your chair was sandwiched between them but the oval shape of the table created some personal shape.
you were thankful for that because loucha never forced act of affection but jing yuan always did.
every single time. from hugs to kisses etc but hearing loucha saying he wanted a genuine version made you wanted to punch him in the face.
so when the blonde cleared his throat and began uttering nonsense again, you tried your hardest to ignore.
“(y/n), do you know what day it is?”
you eyed loucha from the side but focusing more on jing yang so he wouldn’t tried to force feed you.
“Wednesday.”
jing yuan took his turn by letting out a laugh.
“no (y/n), it’s our one year anniversary.”
the statement shunned you into silence.
a whole year living with these sick bastards.
“we even got a gift for you, close your eyes.”
if loucha wasn’t around to pin you down against the table, you would lunge forward to stab jing yuan eye out with the chopstick that you were holding.

I love your raiden ei!reader! I was wondering what would happen if Jing Yuan met her son (like they had a good relationship and the whole sumeru arc never happened) it would be cool if he’s been traveling around teyvat and he comes to visits his mother only to see that’s she now dating! How would him and Jing Yuan get along.
The meeting of a lifetime

ft. Jing Yuan, Raiden!reader, Scaramouche
synopsis. Jing Yuan has always seen Yanqing as his non-biological son. But what if he meets your son, who just so happens to be a puppet?
warnings. Fem!reader, slightly rushed (?)
this is so wholesome :o also pls ignore the title I could not come up with a good title 😅
Today, you and JING YUAN are having a picnic date in Inazuma. The two of you visited the place in which you watched the firework light show, aka, the day Jing Yuan confessed. The two of you had bought some of the best delicacies from your respective planets, but you mostly brang Inazuman desserts. However, the two of you had not expected to have a visitor coming today. Who's the visitor? Well, it was your son.
As you were trying a Xianzhou dessert, you heard a familiar voice calling your name. You turn to the direction of the voice, and you were met with the pleasant sight of your dear son, Kunikuzushi. Jing Yuan was also looking, but with a more confused expression on his face. Your friend? No, most of your friends died... Your sibling? Maybe, he looked awfully like you.
"your sibling?" Jing Yuan inquired, slightly tilting his head, making you laugh. "No, this is my son." Jing Yuan stilled, this shocked him, if that was your son, does that mean you had a lover before him? But he was filled with relief when he heard what you said next "he's not my actual son, but since he's a puppet I created, I call him my son." He smiles, for some reason, his heart fills with joy knowing that you had created a life. Even if it was only a puppet.
He watches as your son, Kunikuzushi, stops in front of you, only to quickly look at him with widened eyes. Most definitely confused on why his mother was with a man. But your voice is what makes him look back towards you "How have you been, kuni?" You say, as he pouts because of the nickname you gave him. "Mom, I said to not call me that while in public. Especially in front of another person..." He says, now turning towards Jing Yuan, who blankly stares back. You follow Kuni's stare and smile seeing that he has taken interest in Jing Yuan. "Let me introduce you to Jing Yuan. He's the general from the Xianzhou Luofu, he is one of the seven Arbiter-Generals of the Xianzhou Alliance's Cloud Knights, and one of the Six Charioteers of the Xianzhou Luofu." Jing Yuan slightly blushes with how much you're boasting about him to your son, who looks at him impressed. "He's from another planet? How'd you meet him?" Jing Yuan could tell that Kunikuzushi was protective of you, and he doesn't blame him. Considering that you're quite oblivious to a lot of things.
"we met because the Xianzhou had to restock some resources. Your mother was generous enough to provide us with some materials" Jing Yuan says, making you blush, which surprises your son, who looks at you with wide eyes. "Mother! Are you two dating!?" So he finally puts two and two together, "why didn't you tell me?" You lightly chuckled, "Well, you were always traveling so I couldn't get in contact with you." Jing Yuan puts a hand to his chin, "so you're a traveler?" "Yeah." Kunikuzushi says absentmindedly, still trying to process everything.
As your son, Kunikuzushi, processed the revelation that you and Jing Yuan were dating, he seemed both surprised and curious. His eyes darted between the two of you, his protective nature still evident.
Jing Yuan, noticing Kunikuzushi's protective demeanor, decided to address his questions with a warm smile. "Yes, I am from another planet, and your mother and I are indeed together," he confirmed. "We met during the resource restocking mission, and we've grown very close since then."
Kunikuzushi sighs relaxed a bit, his initial concern gradually giving way to a more accepting expression. "Well, if you make my mother happy," he said, looking at you with a soft smile, "then I'm glad you're here." But his expression then turned serious, "but that doesn't mean I'm going to let my guard down around you."
You felt a surge of happiness, knowing that your son was willing to accept Jing Yuan into your lives. It was a heartwarming moment, and you were grateful for the opportunity to introduce the two most important people in your life to each other.
Over the course of the picnic, Kunikuzushi and Jing Yuan engaged in conversation, sharing stories about their respective worlds and experiences. It was a day filled with laughter, bonding, and the joy of togetherness. As the sun began to set over Inazuma, casting a warm, golden glow, you couldn't help but feel immensely grateful for the unexpected turn of events that had brought your family closer together.
