I really wished I had gotten this done before the rollercoaster that was today. Yeah I’m looking at you NCIS press staff who threw the entire fandom into a spiral with this uploaded then deleted nine second clip that threatens to make us all riot. Looking. At. You.
Anyways, this is gonna be short in comparison to Sangre because honestly there wasn’t a whole whole lot and also my mind is scrambled 🥴
So Nick at the elevator with Ellie’s firearms scorecard had be dying. Either he knows exactly when she shows up everyday because this is Eleanor Bishop and she’s nothing if not punctual, it’s just who she is. Or they are in such constant contact that she had literally just sent him a text that she was parking and coming up to the bullpen now. Or he’d been standing there for the past half hour while McGee tries to rib him for looking like an idiot and him refusing to move because she has to show up to work eventually. But my bet is the second honestly. Ellie acting coy and giving Nick a hard time is everything though because this is so usually not how it goes. He’s usually the secretive one (up until recently, I’m aware) and now she’s the one who’s all mysterious like yeah I’m a badass shot (and you know this Nick, duhhhh) but I’m not gonna tell you why my score is even better now so good that I maxed it out since it has to do with the training I’m getting from Odette that I *still* haven’t told anyone about. But shockingly enough boy learned his previous mistake last year in the jail cell and dropped it and didn’t ask more questions because he knows Ellie will tell him when Ellie is ready and ok to tell him 🥺 the respect for her and also trust she’d tell him if it was big (which ahem Ellie if this *is* because of Odette, oooooo you done messed up).
McGee being bitter about not getting the body call had me cackling. Poor dude does not have a poker face 🤣
And then I stayed laughing with Kasie’s little commentary about streets for cars and oceans for sharks (my husband who dabbles in cycling would not be on the same page with the first part but definitely the second Kasie, I hear that). Why does Ellie’s look at the back of Nick’s head and his immediate getting Kasie back on track seem like they’ve just got perfect telepathy and know literally what the other is thinking, they’re just so in sync 😩
More ellick as partners and it’s just adorable as usual I love how they work together, they so efficient they already two steps ahead of McGee with everything. And 🥺 Nick’s catching Ellie’s attention while she’s thinking about Gibbs, that slight worry in his face as he knows this is hard for her because of their relationship. I love how much he cares without showing he cares. He would do everything for her, he wants to wrap her up and protect her from the dangers and hurt of the world. THIS IS WHY YOU’RE NOT LIKE MIGUEL NICK, THIS. YOUR DAD WOULD NEVER. Also Gibbs tells Ellie its not his call so she immediately defers to Nick to see what they should do? Ugh the trust. I love.
OK so the hotly disputed scene in interrogation with McGee, Bishop and Hannah. I have thoughts and yes I wear ellick-colored glasses while I watch this show so yes I’ll be biased. Just like everyone has their own bias when watching so we can all believe what we want to believe since we also all know that we will never, ever get clarification. NCIS writers would never. Past plot lines coming back up, that’s cute. SO ANYWAYS. I love that it was Ellie’s idea to do the skeptic and hopeless romantic, for being a logical agent she sure is using her heart a lot in recent episodes I see you Ellie you can’t hide that Ms. Big-Hearted Bishop 👀 and yes the shaaaaade she throws out is 100% real you cannot convince me otherwise. Half these guys wouldn’t know love if it smacked them in the face?? yes. agree. A thousand percent agree. SHE SPEAKS FROM EXPERIENCE OK. And then the someone special in her life 🥺🥺🥺 oof we know you love him Ellie it’s ok you can just say it. You can say Nick has wormed his way into your heart with his dancing hips and his smart tongue. We know it he’s special to you he’s more than special he’s your loooooove 😭 and yes the GROWTH Y’ALL. We went from not trusting him with her phone- her pHONE. To now she trusts him with her life???? Because this man vowed from that night in the bullpen in 16x11 to prove to her that she can trust him and ain’t that IT. Good god is someone cutting onions around me?? He stood in the bullpen realizing how much he fucked up and said, that won’t happen again. She will trust me with everything big and small, to the point she’d trust me with her life and it will be my mission in life to prove this to her no matter how long it takes because yes it matters. Boy even pushed her out the way of a speeding car and almost died himself all for this lady and yes nick she knows you risked her life for hers and that’s when she realizes that shit this is so incredibly real and I’d put my life in his hands and he’d put his in mine without hesitation this is love. So yes if he asked her to do something (relating to Hannah here and also I think a piece of her knows that if nick had died, she would have been the one to kill Xavier), she would in a heartbeat. She would do anything for this man and while yes some of this is dramatized and played up a bit to get Hannah to open up, I firmly believe that it comes from a place of truth. That she pulled from experience and what she feels in order to play it best. Also partly why I don’t think this is in reference to Gibbs. She told McGee she was going to play the hopeless romantic card and she’s literally trying to appeal/connect with Hannah who is in a *romantic* relationship with the suspect. So naturally she’s going to mirror that with a romantic angle, not a father-daughter angle (that’s creepy when you think about it tbh - related to a woman who’s in love with a guy by saying you understand because you feel similarly about your “dad’?? No thank you) So yes, I’m in the camp that Ellie was picturing Nick while saying all this and surely she laid it on a little thick for the sake of the interrogation, but there’s an undercurrent of truth to her words and you can pry that out of my dead, cold hands because I will believe this to my grave unless NCIS writers magically remember old plots and prove me wrong.
Nick busting out Hannah’s rhymes while Nick gives the little head bob yessssss. How many times had they done that before McGee got that update 🤣🤣😅
He’s still at her desk 👀 he’s always at her desk 🥰 and then the celebratory drink part…Nick’s look at Ellie…more silent communication because they’re just on the same page and you honestly did not need to look at each other that long but ok, can’t keep your eyes off one another even though McGee asked a simple question. But the better question is did they still go get that celebratory drink with McGee or did McGee decide to go home since Gibbs screened their call and they went out to get that drink by themselves 👀👀 and really it’s just Ellie drinking and getting flirty throwing some arms around some shoulders 👀👀 I don’t hate this is that why you guys get all cozy in the bullpen next episode huh nick 👀👀 can’t stop it after tipsy Ellie is falling all over you with how close y’all are now I see how it is 👀👀
But yeah tonight’s episode. I’ve gone on a clown rollercoaster today and I can tell you I’m not looking forward to the emotional turmoil that will be tonight- however it turns out. Who am I kidding i live for this shit I’m a clown forever through and through.
#ellick#ncis#wwr#18x13#look at me i got this done in time#also you can @ me all you want over the interrogation scene#i said what i said

“Go. Just take him.” The cycle of Revenge in The Last of Us Part II
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE LAST OF US PART 2
Spoilers + screenshots under the readmore!
Some thoughts on The Last of Us Part II
The Last of Us Part II threw me for a loop in subtle, nuanced, deep, and impactful ways. It was a story of loss and hate, resentment and grief, and the major theme: The Cycle of Revenge.
These themes all come together in the last fight between Abby and Ellie– which, before I delve into some kind of analysis, made me cry. It was honest in its delivery, resonant in its pain. It seemed Ellie wasn’t just fighting Abby, but herself in a sense. And because we had played a big part of the game as Abby, I felt a hesitance to fight Abby to the death. It doesn’t feel victorious-- plainly put, it felt “bad” to fight Abby, and in another sense, it felt futile.
I have a soft spot for storytelling, and there’s always been something about The Last of Us which touched me, probably because it focuses on the complicated nature of what’s morally right or wrong. At the game’s beginning, I wasn’t completely sold on Abby’s storyline. I could tell that Naughty Dog was trying to show a neutral grey area, that there’s no black and white, no true heroes and villains. I think alot of stories are going with this direction now, some poorly (i.e. a villain gets an underserved or forced redemption arc), but The Last of Us Part II treated its characters less like heroes and villains and more like human beings who are capable of good and evil, capable of bravery, selflessness, indoctrination, and antagonism.
The list could go on. The world of The Last of Us strives to mirror our own world to the best of its ability. It asks “what could go wrong in a post-apocalyptic world”, then in the same breath, “but what is beautiful and meaningful in such a world too?”
As the story progressed, I saw parallels between Ellie, Abby, and Joel. I saw the message as ‘destruction in revenge’; but also, by having two protagonists, one of which I should have been led to despise, I came to see each person as a “main character” of their own story, as we are main characters of our own lives, or stories, due to the limits of our perception. Abby’s world is different from Ellie’s, but there’s overlap, enough to see them as a reflection of each other. And as I’ll delve into, their story arcs follow similar paths, as they’ve both experienced loss which left them incapacitated, except... Abby’s story is about redemption, while Ellie’s is about hate and revenge.
This final fight, the scene near the end of the game, struck me for a number of reasons.
The location of the fight has significance, as the ocean represents our subconscious, and the fog represents disillusionment and confusion. Ellie had buried memories of Joel, both good and bad, into her subconscious. That was her way of dealing with the pain. She buried the pain “underwater” so to speak, into an underwater oceanic subconscious.
In that scene, she is surrounded by an “ocean of grief.”
It resurfaces to Ellie in dreams throughout the game. PTSD flashes of memory too.
Ellie went after Abby a second time, and engaged in a fight with her. Abby, starving and weak, could hardly fight back. At the last moment with Abby’s head underwater, as she was drowning, Ellie sees an image of Joel– happy, safe, alive.
And she falters, she releases Abby.
Ellie continued to seek vengeance, an outward action, rather than experience grief, which is an inward action. Revenge as the distraction. Grief as the unbelievably long, lonely process. Revenge may have been satisfying, but if Abby had been killed, what would happen next? Ellie would be sitting in the ocean, still wrought with grief, still unable to essentially face Joel’s memory (whether it’s the terrible memory of his death, or the good memories, or the memories where she pushed him away because of resentment).
When Ellie says to Abby, “Go. Just take him,” she’s talking about Abby taking Lev and making their getaway, but to me… it was the overarching summation, the metaphorical line that delved into the point of the entire story.
When Ellie says, “Go. Just take him”, she’s also talking about Joel.
The vast ocean in front of her represents the subconscious, the unknown, and death. Ellie is sitting in the water, facing the unknown, and inwardly, the grief she feels over losing Joel. When she releases Abby, she is releasing her desire for vengeance. It is a singular point in the story. Revenge is a goal, a mission– it’s what drove the story, especially from Ellie’s point of view. But… revenge is not really a process, it’s a cycle. Because as the story showed, one act of vengeance turns into another act, and then another. It is the serpent biting its own tail.
Abby’s cycle of revenge halted because of Lev.
Abby’s responsibility was altered by the presence of Lev. Lev tells Abby to stop just before Abby is about to kill Dina.
The music at this part slows from an adrenaline-fueled heartbeat. The hate and the rage lessen. Quiet takes over. The presence of Lev is what stopped her. This new-found purpose halts the cycle of revenge on Abby’s part. She is done.
Abby found new purpose and direction in her life because of Lev. Abby’s relationship with Lev is very similar to Joel’s relationship with Ellie in the first game. Joel found new purpose and meaning in his life with the arrival of Ellie. They even look similar to Joel and Ellie, I believe, in how Abby is clearly Lev’s protector, as Joel was Ellie’s protector in the first game:
(Even the colors of their clothes resemble Ellie and Joel in the first game).
By the game’s end, Abby has found new purpose in her life just as Joel found new purpose in his through Ellie. As Joel said in the first game,
“I struggled for a long time with surviving. And you– No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for.”
Earlier, Abby and Owen are speaking outside the surgery room. Abby says that Yara and Lev are just kids, then she asks:
Abby found the light in Lev, a Seraphite, or “Scar”– she found the light in someone who would otherwise be her enemy.
Abby has a recurring dream, in which she’s walking down the hospital corridor towards the surgery room where her father was killed. It is her place of fear, her nightmare, and over and over it haunts her, replaying her pain and trauma.
After saving Yara and Lev, the dream changes. Her father is alive and smiling, almost as if this is his way of saying goodbye to her.
That is what’s crucial here– After Abby kills Joel and satiates her need for revenge, she still has the nightmare of her father’s death. Revenge did not reconcile her pain, it did not stop the nightmare– in fact, it only created guilt.
In the boat scene, Owen explains why he killed Danny. He describes how there was a Scar at a camp, and he was going to kill him. He describes how he hit the man on the head, hard, but he just laid there. He didn’t go for his weapon. He was an old man who was tired and ready.
And something about that weakness, that human vulnerability, breaks Owen, and he can’t kill this old man. The cycle of revenge exhausts itself.
This story directly parallels Joel’s– he was an old man who was tired and ready.
In this same scene, Owen shames Abby for going after Joel. Mel does the same in a later scene, telling Abby that she’s a bad person. Abby’s group struggled with the action they took on Joel. Abby does too. Her reaction to Owen and Mel shaming her shows she feels guilt over what she did.
That guilt is reconciled with the arrival of Yara and Lev; particularly Lev, who becomes Abby’s responsibility later in the story.
By the same token, Ellie had that option with Dina and the baby. She could have shifted her direction in life towards her new family, but she chose not to– instead, she went after Abby a second time. It could be because she was overwhelmed by grief, or because her trauma felt unbearable. Maybe she was obsessed with the idea that revenge would alleviate the pain. Or maybe, she felt responsible for Joel’s death.
Ellie continued to move her life in the direction of vengeance, when really she needed to confront her own grief of losing him. And that takes time. That takes confrontation. The stagnation of “doing nothing” is not in Ellie’s character (for instance, Dina loses Jesse because Abby killed Jesse, but she does not seek revenge. She refocuses her life on her baby).
To contrast, Dina’s responsibility in life is to her child; Ellie’s responsibility in life is not necessarily to get revenge but to atone for her resentment towards Joel.
Ellie attempts to drown Abby as though it will bury the memories of Joel even more, but they surface regardless, one small droplet memory of Joel sitting on the porch with a guitar, and she can’t do it. She can’t continue the cycle of revenge.
After the final fight, Ellie looks out into the ocean, but there is no horizon. The fog covers it. There is no point, no “point on the horizon.” There is no point in continuing the cycle of revenge. As the poet John Ford wrote, “Revenge proves its own executioner.” Ellie was destroying herself as much as she was destroying her enemies.
I think... the reason Ellie had such difficulties dealing with her grief was because she felt responsible for Joel’s death in a roundabout way-- if she had died on the operating table, Joel would have never been a target, if she had never been immune, she would have turned when she was bitten-- and because she felt guilt, because she couldn’t accept their last conversation.
Which was so beautiful in its simplicity. Neither Ellie or Joel knew this would be their last conversation, and so there’s a sense of mundanity about it. It’s crucial but at the same time, not (because we as the players know this is their last conversation).
Ellie says she will consider forgiving him. The animosity Ellie felt towards Joel was not entirely resolved. And besides that, she had been giving him the silent treatment for over a year before that. She lost time with him because she held a grudge; the grudge is another reason she feels guilty. (Not saying Ellie’s grudge isn’t warranted. That’s what makes the situation so complicated and nuanced. She had a right to be mad because she wanted the vaccine, she was willing to sacrifice her life for it. So we see the difficulty she has in accepting Joel’s decision). Which spurred her on in her quest for revenge, while pushing aside the grief she felt.
There is not point in continuing the cycle of revenge. Grief… it doesn’t necessarily have a “point” either, I don’t think. Like the ocean, it comes in waves. It soaks the body. It ebbs and flows, but it will lessen with time. As with Abby, who found a purpose in life by protecting Lev, Ellie has the option of finding a purpose in her life too– not the one she initially wanted, in which she sacrificed herself for a cure, but maybe one built with the same kind of love Joel felt for her.
But the process of grief means Ellie has to essentially, at one point, say to Death or the Unknown, Okay. You can take him. When she releases Joel, she is releasing so, so much more than what she would have gained from killing Abby.
At the game’s beginning, when Joel was dying, he looked at Ellie, and he smiled. There was something in his eyes that said he was glad, for everything, the pain, the struggle, the heartbreak, because in the end he’s looking at Ellie, and in the last crucial moment it’s as if he thinks, ‘It was worth it, for you’.
He knew the consequences of his actions when he stopped the Fireflies, when he stopped the cure from ever being made, and when he took Ellie from that hospital. He knew there was a risk involved, but at the game’s ending, during the flashback scene, he says, “If somehow the Lord gave me a second chance at that moment… I would do it all over again.”
(*Brief note: Interestingly enough, Abby is not explicitly seeking revenge on Joel because he prevented the cure from being made... she’s seeking revenge because he killed her father. It shows that in the grand scheme of things, what matters is the close relationships we form with others... that if Ellie had been the cure she would have been remembered as an almost “deified” concept, but Joel would have returned to the hopelessness of his own life. Abby didn’t enact revenge for humanity’s sake, she did it for her father. This ties in nicely with the ongoing war between the WLF and the Seraphites, and how each faction is a faceless mob until individuals like Yara and Lev meet Abby, or Owen has his emotional experience with the old man who was too tired to fight. Owen says he’s tired of fighting for land he doesn’t give a fuck about. It begs the question of what’s important in life... like the memories of Joel and Ellie exploring museums or Tommy and Ellie sharpshooting. It was the small, seemingly insignificant moments which mattered most, the moments Ellie remembered).
Joel died without regret. He died knowing that Ellie would be willing to forgive him. And even though their time of peace was brief, he died happy for the small moments they got to spend together, that for all the pain and suffering, in the end, it was worth it.
Ellie is angry at him because she believes her life would have mattered if she sacrificed herself for a vaccine. That there was a point to all the loss, for her best friend Riley’s death, for the numerous other deaths she witnessed in The Last of Us. When Joel took her from the hospital, it was selfish, but that’s because her life does matter, to him. Beyond being a cure, beyond being a martyr, Ellie as a human being matters to him. Yes, she would have been remembered as “the cure”, but only Joel would have remembered her as an actual human being: a person with habits, quirks, unique traits, vices and virtues.
He would do it again knowing how much she would resent him for it. I don’t know how else to describe that. I think it goes along the notion that, you don’t truly understand what it means to love someone more than anything, more than yourself, until you’ve had a child. With loss comes grief, then hope. Joel lost his daughter Sarah and suffered for years, but Ellie gave him hope. Abby lost her father, but found hope in Lev.
Ellie lost Joel, but what kind of hope returned to her at the story’s end?
When she returns to her home, Dina and the baby are gone. The house is empty, and all of Ellie’s belongings have been put into a single room. She goes there, and picks up the guitar Joel gave her.
Ellie lost two of her fingers, and now she’s unable to throughly play the guitar. The notes are disjointed, the melody is cracked. That is how Ellie is now. I’m not saying she’s a miserable broken wreck now– I’m saying she’s rough around the edges, she has a noticeable aura of fragmentation about her. Even if the grief lessens with time, she will be hardened by this pain. What she’s experienced has changed her and it’s a weight she’ll have to carry for the rest of her life. As the title suggest, she is the “last of us” regarding our journey throughout the game-- every emotion, every violent action, every loss and heartache-- Ellie is the bearer of it.
She places the guitar against the windowsill and leaves.
And you see that shot through the open window, Ellie leaving the house in the background, the guitar leaning against the windowsill in the foreground. I see that and I know, in one year the vines and weeds will start to take over the house like they do in all the abandoned houses. In two years the strings will rust and snap. In ten the guitar will become part of nature. Nature will come in through the window, and it will wrap itself around the guitar. The wood will crack and eventually it will disintegrate from the rain and wind.
The reason I think there’s an emblem of a moth on the guitar is because moths have very short lifespans (in their adult stage, they typically only live about one week). Because of the brevity of their life, and because they are night creatures, they are considered messengers of the unknown, or the “beyond.” Something not quite of this world, symbols of magic. But I think the more important part of the moth on the guitar is to show how brief Joel and Ellie’s time together was; how the lives of the characters in The Last of Us are often cut short, often without warning. In an even broader sense, life is brief, and time’s a thief, as the saying goes. The guitar in the last frame of the story was played for only a few years, and then, it has been left to the hands of time.
It’s here that we don’t really know what happens to Ellie: does she go in search of Dina? Does she go back to Jackson? Does she begin somewhere else, or will she live on her own for the rest of her days?
The uncertainty of her life from this point on leaves a bittersweet touch to the story. People move on, people leave. What is an old guitar weathered by the seasons, lost to time, was once a beautiful song shared between two people.
Joel, in saving her life, essentially gave her a chance at life. The rest is up to her.

okay lets start easy.... 001 for star trek, 002 for syrios, 003 for cris and also for steward
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
Specified VOY on Discord so
Favorite character: Doc. Seven is a veeery close second if not tied. Depends on my mood.
Least Favorite character: UMMMM Does Seska count??
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Okay so Tom/B’Elenna obv, umm I love Doc/Seven but like his unrequited love for her honestly. That one episode where Doc fell in love with a patient he made a holographic body for while he was treating her. Neelix/Kes had a lot of issues especially later on but they had their moments?? There really weren’t a lot of canon pairings were there so I’m going to go non-canon because it says both. Janeway/Chakotay had their moments of tension but nothing ever came of that.
Character I find most attractive: Tom tbh
Character I would marry: Tom is with B’Elanna so... Doc? Harry?
Character I would be best friends with: Doc
a random thought: WHY DID THEY FORGET THE BORG BABY
An unpopular opinion: Okay so for the whole Tuvix debate idk which side is actually more popular than the other but at least Controversial Opinion: Janeway murdered Tuvix and it was not the moral decision (that doesn’t mean it was the incorrect decision)
My Canon OTP: Tom/B’Elanna Seven/Raffi oops that’s Picard
My Non-canon OTP: Hmmm I have no idea how this is gonna go down but Icheb/Q2 were kind of cute tbh
Most Badass Character: Janeway is queen. Seven is also queen
Most Epic Villain: Idk species 8472?
Pairing I am not a fan of: ... idk I feel like the Seven/Chakotay stuff was not done well
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Neelix when it comes to his relationship with Kes towards the end the whole jealousy stuff was not cool
Favourite Friendship: Tom & Harry, Doc & Seven
Character I most identify with: Seven and Doc
Character I wish I could be: Seven
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you: Syrios
When I started shipping them: It kind of just happened so like right away
My thoughts: They are adorable disasters a terrible mess who deserve each other
What makes me happy about them: Everything. They care about each other so much they really need each other. Clueless married gays in space (well gay & pan)
What makes me sad about them: Neither of them care about themselves. Sylar ends up hurt, Rios panics, Sylar is more concerned about Rios’s panic than his own condition that’s just how it goes they’re a mess
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Nothing the only fics written about them are written by De. Okay but actually that one person who left a rude and stupid comment on one of the fics that’s it that’s the thing
Things I look for in fanfic: Clueless married gays in space
My wishlist: My entire #Headcanons (Sylar) tag - Just fyi Rios is the first human/non-Vulcan to solve this like puzzle to get into the super secretive society of T’Paal it takes him like a year when it took the slowest citizens of T’Paal several months but he WOULDN’T GIVE UP he needed to prove himself to Sylar’s people - Syrios doing their own version of Tal’oth for their honeymoon because what else would they do other than some messed up ancient Vulcan survival ritual
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: I mean the only other person Sylar has been interested in is Sarek and that’s.. not going to happen so
My happily ever after for them: Honestly this is hard like?? Okay so get this: I doubt Rios is ever going to return to Starfleet BUT he’s like in his late 70s (so Sylar doesn’t have to watch him grow really old) and captaining a Starfleet Starship with Sylar and they go on basically a suicide mission just the two of them and they succeed in whatever the mission was technically for and they’re killed in the process, together, in a blaze of fire after a long life of being happily married idiots because otherwise one of them will have to watch the other die and that’s not okay because they won’t die of old age together
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you: Rios
How I feel about this character: ksjdhfkhsd he’s my sad caring baby he cares too much and I care too much about him because of it
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Syrios @plaktow-ed, Agnebal @agnespjurati, Cris/Anna @manenimittliv, Cris/Kira @kiranerysmajor, Cris/Ellie @bakcr, Cris/Enoch unrequited sadly @ncthingstars Enoch deserves better Enoch deserves Emil
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Cris & Enoch (see above), Cris & Raffi, Cris & Seven, honestly?? Cris & Lore have had some great moments yo @soongtypefrankenstein
My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s mine
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Okay sooooo.. I still like the ECH theory honestly?? Like I’m not saying I’m disappointed with how it turned out but it would’ve been a nice twist + the whole Ibn Majid figuring into the Main Plot was a bit too much of a coincidence idk
Favorite friendship for this character: Cris & Raffi/Seven literally the three of them as bffs (with Seven/Raffi as a couple)
My crossover ship: Star Trek crossover? Cris/Kira
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you: Steward
How I feel about this character: HE DESERVES BETTER He tries so hard
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: ???? Idk man @ncthingstars was super into enemies to lovers and mentioned Steward/Emmet once and I’m not saying yes but I haven’t stopped thinking about it
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Steward & Sylar and Steward & Enoch and Steward & Anyone who will actually give him attention pls love my broken hospitality hologram also Steward & Emmet rivalry always. I want him to meet Neelix AND I want him to meet Vic Fontaine
My unpopular opinion about this character: HE DESERVES BETTER
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: MORE more holo squad in general but someone just give this man a hug or ask if he’s alright or show any sign of caring about what he wants because it’s literally his job to take care of everyone but who is going to take care of him
Favorite friendship for this character: Steward & Enoch, Steward & Sylar
My crossover ship: Steward/Rimmer from Red Dwarf?? idk man

Romanced Companions react to a Sole who is to much of a thief for their liking part-two
Sorry it took two million years to get the second part out but here it is and I hope y’all enjoy reading it! Thanks again for the request and I love y’all so much for supporting me out here and waiting around for my ass to post a new react!
Nick: Sole was well aware of how old school Nick was when it came to solving cases and fighting crime, and above all he did his best to avoid unnecessary conflict, no killing, stealing, fighting unless absolutely necessary. Something that was hard for Sole to understand when danger was around every corner and conflict with violence seemed as necessary as breathing out here in the Commonwealth. Sole adjusted though and being in a relationship with Nick made them try that much harder to live up to his expectations. After all working as partners made Sole also the face of the detective agency and they didn’t want anyone to have a bad impression of Nick and Ellie just because of something stupid they did. Sole did still steal things from people occasionally though, only because when they where on a case and Sole figured whatever people had locked away might be evidence they needed or could use later. They did their best to hide the fact they were stealing and would make up some story about stumbling across the evidence instead, so Nick wouldn’t become suspicious. That only worked for so long though before the synth caught on to Sole’s lies and he confronted Sole with proof of the lies. Once caught Sole felt ashamed and embarrassed but also expressed how it was the only way they felt helpful on cases with Nick, otherwise they felt useless and silly. Nick was still disappointed in Sole, but knew they just genuinely wanted to help him so he promised to help them build up other skills so they didn't think lock picking and stealing was the only way to be helpful.
Danse: The whole mess of Sole stealing started when Danse caught Sole rummaging around different parts of the Prydwen and insisting that they where just borrowing whatever they took, and would be returning it later. Danse quickly found this not to be true when he noticed the hoard of weapons and other supplies Sole kept in their quarters. It didn’t help either that Danse began to hear other brothers and sisters complain of missing personal items, some of the complaints had even reached the ears of Elder Maxson who was getting ready to look into the matter himself, putting Danses nerves on edge over the whole situation. He finally confronted Sole while they where along out on a mission letting them know he felt hurt and betrayed by their recent actions, and if this was the kind of person Sole truly was he didn’t want anything to do with them. This broke Sole’s heart in half and they felt like shit for hurting Danse, and promised they would return everything and never take anything without permission again, even with all the promises being fulfilled at some point it still took time for Danse to trust Sole again.
Piper: The reporter didn’t mind Sole’s sneaky ways at first, especially when she needed Sole to sneak in somewhere and get evidence to back up facts in her articles. Straight up stealing from innocent people around the Commonwealth was always a no go with her though, and she had scolded Sole for it before when she saw them trying to pick the lock to a residents house in Diamond city while people were away. Piper never caught Sole doing it again and once they became romantically involved she figured such things where behind them and Sole wouldn’t steal since she knew how much Piper despised it. It wasn’t long after that Piper was confronted with the truth when an angry resident confronted her saying they saw Sole digging around in their home one day trying to make off with their stash of caps! Piper didn’t want to believe it but she promised that she would confront Sole about this, and when she did Sole didn’t deny the truth. Piper couldn’t even look at Sole as she screamed at them to get out with tears in her eyes and the feeling of heartbreak weighing heavily down on her. It took months before Piper could even seek Sole out again and look them in the face and allow them to apologize or ask for a second chance.
Hancock: He may be involved in sketchy dealings and a chem addict, but stealing was something he had always loathed with every fiber of his ghoulified being. He knew it wasn’t something off the plate for Sole because of the whole incident with Bobbi no nose, but the incident was all in the past and it was something he overlooked because Bobbi had lied about who they were stealing from. Also being in love with Sole made him overlook certain flaws and vices, he was no prince charming himself anyways, so he figured it wasn’t to big of a problem when Sole got the itch to take what they shouldn’t. At some point though enough was enough and Sole had been taking things here and there from the people of Goodneighbor just for the thrill of it. He loved Sole more then anything but he made it loud and clear that he hated what they where doing, and Sole was more than willing to stop once they realized the negative impact of it all on their relationship.
X6-88: He was well aware of Sole’s knack for thievery and how they had put it to good use to survive the filth and cruelty of the Commonwealth before proving their worth and joining the Institute. X-6 had made it clear to Sole that the Institute didn’t “steal” they took what they wanted from the Commonwealth and the slum that called it home. It had made him happy to see Sole step up into their new role of power and use it without fear or hesitation, he might even admit it’s what made him love Sole even more. Even with Sole’s new found power to take what they wanted whenever they wanted, it apparently wasn’t enough to sake their need for hoarding items and their love for sneakily acquiring things that didn’t belong to them. Even though Sole was being trained to fill in the new role of being their leader, Father was still alive and the one overall in charge something Sole seemingly forget as they started to steal rare items and much needed equipment and weapons from scientist and synths alike. X-6 was displeased to say the least and confronted Sole immediately on the matter, he may love Sole but he wasn’t afraid to remind them that Father and the Institute had granted them their power and could just as easily take it away.
Curie: Sole knew how Curie felt about stealing, she was just such a pure and innocent Soul who never understood the necessity of stealing to survive out here. Sole realized how Curie felt about stealing when they were breaking into someone’s shed to steal their food supplies. Once both had returned to their own settlement Curie asked hundreds of questions about why they had taken that other person’s food, and what were they going to eat now if we took it all? Sole had tried to patiently explain that the crops hadn’t been doing well these past few months, and it was their responsibility to make sure their settlers still got fed, regardless of how that was done, or what they had to do. It had depressed Curie for awhile and she couldn’t believe someone she loved so much was willing to steal without trying other means to get supplies first. In the end they came to the agreement of Sole exhausting all other options before resorting to stealing what they needed.

Hello! I hope your day is going swell. I know that you're probably very busy, but I want to see tony go all out Merchant Of Death from the beginning of this arc also. If its not going into TWiFFON and if you have the time, would you consider either doing a mini fic or even just an outline of how that would play out? Thank you!
This has been sitting in my askbox for a while, but…well, another test, another round of post-test stress-related jitters, and it’s been a while since I’ve done a shatterpoint, hasn’t it? Especially since things are getting serious in TWiFFON in a way that makes it tricky for me to get into the mindset necessary for writing it.
As an fyi, crackiness incoming, especially since this is my post-exam rambling [plus minor profanity of the ‘fuck my life’ variety]. Do not expect seriousness here, but some spoilers for what’s going to happen to Ross might show up. Under the cut, because RIP mobile users otherwise.
So. Tony Stark, the Merchant of Death.
It’s not a title he’s proud of, is the thing. Especially now that he’s out of the game, and all; he’s about as proud of it as Bruce is about the Hulk, and for similar reasons, only Tony was 100% alert and sober when casually discussing weapons of mass destruction with generals during the Merchant of Death’s heyday.
He’s not proud of it. But he’s also not above keeping it in reserve, if push comes to shove because his patience can only go so far. In TWiFFON, the first time the Merchant of Death officially made an appearance was after the JCTC breakout, because he finally hit his limit with Ross.
However, I’ve mentioned earlier that I was very tempted to bring him out earlier. Far, far earlier—as in, the first time Ross makes an appearance.
So, in one. life, Tony noticed he was like a hair away from going Merchant of Death, when Ross was presenting the Accords, and dialed it back.
Here, however…
Tony Stark hadn’t had any coffee that morning.
It may not have sounded like a major detail, but given it was who-the-fuck-knows in the morning, and he’d just finished all of his planned politicking for the week when Ross decided now was the best time to present the Accords to the team, it meant his patience was already flagging since before he saw the asshat’s stupidly self-satisfied smirk, and so when Ross decided to try and pull the same shit he’d done as a General, that was it.
Because he may not trust the Avengers, and odds were they’d like him even less after seeing the Merchant of Death, but right now he was out of fucks to give. He’d been trying to decide if he was more indifferent to the team than he disliked Ross, but this last round made his choice for him.
Here, he goes full-on Merchant of Death when Ross presents his version of the Accords, and the team gets a front-row seat to seeing what happens when Tony gets serious.
He pulls absolutely no punches whatsoever, doesn’t break eye contact with Ross when he pulls out his phone and calls his legal team right there and then. No details, but enough to prove he’s not messing around, and then hangs up with a vicious smile that basically has Ross running because in the span that brief, one-sided conversation everyone in the room heard, they’ve realized just what it meant to piss off Tony Stark.
Specifically, why it was a bad idea, and how obvious it was that Ross hadn’t thought this through—because, in the span of a few minutes, he now has a multinational corporation gunning for him, with some of the best legal teams on the planet.
Ross pretends he doesn’t flee, pretends he’s not on the defensive and trying to figure out how to take on the Merchant of Death. [He fails miserably.] The minute he’s out he door, Tony’s expression doesn’t change when he turns to the team, and with that same smile, says, “He won’t be a problem soon, taking him down shouldn’t take too long.”
Then he visibly warms up and approaches Rhodey to go in for a hug, teases Vision for forgetting the other Widow’s Bite, and leaves soon afterwards, complaining about coffee—and leaving the team to reassess everything they knew about Tony Stark, because what the hell.
Things are only downhill from there, really.
Within the next week, headlines are being made, as the encryption of SHIELD’s files on anything related to Ross ‘mysteriously’ get cracked by an ‘anonymous hacker’, and go viral. The timing could not have been worse, as world’s getting wind of what the UN’s talking about possible Accords. Specifically, someone manages to get his version of the Accords online. It may not sound that bad, but this is Ross’ version of the Accords, aka the US’ official version—and it does not look good, especially when compared to the one being pushed for by a record-breakingly large international coalition.
All in all, Ross is not making his country look good, and combined with the incredibly-intimidating-and-still-growing lawsuit Stark Industries is filing against him? Well, President Ellis isn’t a fool—he drops him like a hot potato, to the applause of basically the entire world.
In the back, the team’s seeing all this go down, and quietly going “what the hell”, because they’ve never seen Tony this way, have only seen him messing around or in mission mode before. This is their first encounter with the Merchant of Death going all-out against an enemy, and in that moment, they all quietly decide they do not want to get on his bad side. Ever.
Also, they’re getting slightly less Lex Luthor vibes from him, what with being distracted by all the media’s attention about the Accords, and, since Ross’ visit to the team was made public what with the clusterfuck surrounding his version of the Accords, soon they get inundated with legal counsel to actually explain how the Accords’ll work.
[and thus averting the bulk of Civil War]
Talk about the clauses and how it’s an international thing, about how if they try to barge into other countries to fuck shit up [the way Ross did Brazil, the way they did Johannesburg and Lagos] they’ll be persona non grata too, and basically drilling it into the team’s head about how the Accords actually work. Ross’ situation is quickly turning into a cautionary tale, now, because the lawsuit’s a monster and there’s rumors several countries’re thinking of joining in.
The more time goes on, the uglier it gets, too, especially because…
Tony is not a happy camper, and he hates everything, how the fuck is this his life. Because this is the latest storm in a series of them, just the last round of paperwork he’s had to deal with, and the fact that he had to bring out the Merchant of Death to get shit done is actually not a good thing in his book [again, he’s not proud of it].
The only silver lining is that there’s a finishing line to this mess, and that he can vent his frustration via the legal battle going on. And even that’s mired in a snarl of issues he doesn’t want to think about, because the longer this goes on, the more the world’s seeing the Merchant of Death and thinking he’s a responsible adult who knows what he’s doing when really he just wants some coffee and maybe a nap, and that leads to…weird consequences.
Specifically, there’s quite a few people looking at him, now. Even more specifically, some of those people are looking at him working with his company, coordinating with Pepper and Legal and PR and the Council and various other countries, and the newly-vacant position for Secretary of State, and going “hey, there’s an idea”.
[I did mention this was crack, right? Yep.]
So, no. Tony is not a happy camper at the moment. At. all. Especially since the press is now in on it too, and wasn’t that an embarrassing headline? And it comes up again and again, in interviews and articles and Thor knew what else—”Tony Stark for Secretary of State?”
…yeah, that’s a no. Hells no, haven’t these people ever heard of conflicts of interest?!
Made even worse, since it turns out the speculation wasn’t actually bs, and Tony hadn’t even finished his coffee when the goddamn President of the United States of America called him to ask about it, how the fuck was this his life.
Suffice it is to say, Tony is so, so tired by the time the lawsuit’s over.
On the plus side, at least shit got done? Ross’ career is now dust, the Avengers are now no longer his headache, they’re some committee’s problem now. Danvers, the head of said committee, looks like she has a good head on her shoulders, and Tony wishes her luck. [All the luck.]
Even better, now that people’re taking him seriously, he can finally work on a global planetary protection program without getting laughed out of the room [looking at you, Avengers], or having to resort to do it all on his own.
[that being said, this is still going to happen in TWiFFON, albeit for different reasons]
Thanos arrives to an Earth that is ready for war, with the Merchant of Death as its first line of defense.
Things that didn’t really come up but happened in the background:
—Zemo tried to frame Bucky, but his plan was contingent on a time crunch provided by Ross, which didn’t happen. The UN didn’t get bombed, since the scandal surrounding the Accords made for more interest in it, and tighter security.
—That being said, Tony still finds out about his parents. Somehow. Probably thanks to either Steve or Natasha being the ones to break the news to him, because now that they’ve seen how he is with enemies they’d much rather keep him as an ally.
—Irony is, for all that Tony’s not proud of the Merchant of Death, it’s also just about the only way the rest of the team’ll respect him; Tony playing nice just got him dismissed as a guy who doesn’t take things seriously, but the Merchant kicking ass and taking no prisoners? Another thing entirely.
Basically, the main difference here from TWiFFON is that canon gets derailed even earlier, and the team is actually on the table after the Civil War arc ends, instead of in prison or what-have-you.

Advertisement Ideas: 500 Creative And Cool Advertisements
In this article, you will find 500 of the most creative advertisement ideas that were used in the past years to promote various brands.
Advertising is all around us day by day, be it in print, online, on billboards or on TV.
According to some recent research, we’re running across 362 ads per day (brand exposures excluded), but we are not aware of it because only 3% of the ads manage to leave an impression. That makes about 12 advertisement ideas that keep us engaged.
Swimming out of this advertising clutter is not as difficult for us as it is for advertisers, who struggle to come up with creative ads for the target audience.
In order to make their ad attractive, creative advertising needs a solid concept and a unique design, so that people will actually pay attention to their layouts and how they present them. In fact, what matters the most for us as viewers, is to remember that a creative ad existed.
To be completely honest, we all approach creative advertising ideas with a certain dose of prejudice, which is the reason why we sometimes underestimate the effort of marketing professionals to connect with us in an entertaining way.
The other reason for such approach is that we’re overwhelmed by advertising ideas which have raised the threshold of expectations, and, as a result,an advertisement needs to be really good to impress us.
There are many clever, text-free advertisement ideas that have a joking tone and make us laugh, others that pose a question to make us think, but the most successful ones are those that cause an instant emotional reaction.
Companies are using this smart strategy of respecting our sense of humor/intellect, instead of coming up with cheap advertisement ideas with flashy images and low-cut necklines to catch attention.
Most of the time, these uninspiring ads are not even ‘speaking’ about the company and what they do, but they make an actual point on how their product is going to improve our lives.
This draws our attention to products we wouldn’t think of otherwise.
Nobody wants to hear how long a company exists before he’s actually liked their products, and so it is more interesting, then, to focus on the sophistication of those products instead, and why they are necessary to him. An attractive advertisement, therefore, catches the viewer’s attention.
Both conventional and online commercial ad design have to attract us in a few seconds, if not; it has failed to complete its mission.
The ‘cool advertisements’ factor is long overcome by big corporations, and they’ve understood that they have to ‘touch our souls’ in order to make us look at something twice.
Creative advertisement ideas
Creativity means the world to advertising, and this can be confirmed by almost any professional out there.
According to Stephan Vogel, Ogilvy & Mather Germany’s chief creative officer, creativity is the key to successful advertisement ideas, because it helps commercials last longer, and companies spend less on them.
But what does creative advertising actually stand for?
Is it an interesting attribute prescribed to a product, or a fancy catalog exposing its benefits?
There are many experiments claiming that creativity sends a stronger message and creates a positive impression of the product. Research confirms that innovative adds boast sales and improve purchases overall.
However, there is not enough empirical evidence to confirm that creative messages increase sales, but not because there is no straightforward connection, but rather because companies don’t have a systematic approach for calculating the effectiveness of their ads.
We do know, however, that when it comes to the advertisement of any product, from creative publicity ads to clothing advertisements or even college advertisement ideas, an advertisement which transcends the product will have a wider impact. This is why branding has proven itself so successful. Creative ad design ideas work.
Finally, what does creative mean when it comes to advertisement ideas?
While looking for measurable dimensions and factors that influence creativity, we focused on social/educational psychology and defined creative as divergent thinking, directed towards the discovery of uncommon and non-obvious problem solutions. This means that creative advertisements are unique. When searching for advertising campaign ideas, it, therefore, helps to search for a range of innovative perspectives, building upon ideas so that innovation may thrive.
The founder of this definition, Ellis Paul Torrance (an American psychologist who developed the TTCT creative thinking test), introduced a battery of measures that can estimate the capacity of individuals to think creatively and to make a contribution to their environment.
His test works on the basis of four dimensions (originality, fluency, elaboration, and abstractness).
This is how the test works: firstly, it poses a question and evaluates the capacity of the tested individual to develop relevant ideas to answer it (fluency).
The second step is to compare the answers to previous ones and see how many of them are actually unique (originality).
Finally, the test pays attention to the amount of detail provided in the answers (elaboration) and whether they actually refer to something concrete or go beyond the boundaries (abstractness).
The test also pays attention to so-called ‘premature closure measures’, taking into account the factors an individual uses to answer the questions and to process the information.
This process was first used in the 2000s, by an Indiana University researcher Robert Smith, who was dealing with creative communication at the time and established a straightforward connection between creative brands and execution elements, and the success of advertised content.
He developed five dimensions of creativity instead, and we’ve based our today’s survey on them:
Originality in advertisement ideas
When an ad is original, that means that it contains rare/unexpected elements, and moves away from advertising as we know it. A creative ad concept brings something new and intriguing in order to capture attention.
Advertisement ideas have to be unique, meaning that the creator is free to diverge from common visual experiences and verbal solutions. Creative ads, therefore, push the boundaries.
For example, a prototype detergent commercial highlights customer satisfaction with his clothes being white after washing, while perfumes draw attention with good-looking models and amazing traffic-free landscapes. However, as an advertiser, you can push the boundaries when it comes to ad ideas. From creative newspaper ads to television advertising examples, you can offer creative advertise ideas.
We can draw inspiration from the successful and unique commercial that is Coca-Cola’s ‘Happiness Factory’ which provides an excellent example of creative commercials.
Flexibility in cool advertisements
When an ad is more flexible than usual, it reaches a larger range of audiences with a larger range of ideas.
Take Kraft Foods, for instance, and their 2011 Jacobs Krönung commercial, which showed men struggling to complete household activities while women were enjoying their coffee. Challenging social norms provide innovative advertising ideas which appeal to a diverse audience.
Synthesis
Synthesis refers to building a connection between supposedly unrelated ideas and objects.
Wrigley’s chewing gum advert provides a good example: They used to have a commercial with cattle-corralled rabbits eating berries, bananas and melon, while their buckteeth were growing as with the Juicy Fruit chewing gums. Rabbits and chewing gums have little in common, but the divergent story was very successful. This proves that interesting ads grab attention.
The artistic value in interesting advertisements
In order for creative campaign ideas to be artistically valuable, they have to contain many appealing elements (visual, verbal, and sound).
The production has to be the highest quality possible, using clever dialogues, smart color schemes, and memorable music, which would make a consumer perceive it as a piece of art rather than a common sales pitch.
More creative advertisement ideas
Creative advertising ideas are a sure catch if they are attractive or funny. Humor appeals to all audiences. From advertisement ideas for kids to summer ads sharing holiday ideas.
If advertisements have these qualities they’ve accomplished the basis of interesting ads. If they’re also well thought they’ll surely get the customers’ attention. Some print advertisements will make you smile and you will like others just because of their bright ideas. Enjoy!
