i'm just sayin', if towl can be six hours of love and sexy times with mild plot sprinkled in and be a successful show, there's no reason tboc can't do the same ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ever since I've started paying more deliberate attention to caryl since watching season 10 for the first time a few months ago, and now in my rewatch of the whole show, every time I look at Carol looking at Daryl I am just seeing my babygirl absolutely in love.
She looks at him in the background of every scene no joke. Beth's singing when they arrive at the prison and everyone's having a moment and what's Carol doing? Looking at Daryl. Making eggs for the whole group - who's she looking at while they eat?? DARYL. The group just found out Rick didn't tell them all what Jenner told him at the CDC - what does Carol do? LOok aT DARYL.
My girl is IN LoVe.
Her face looking at Daryl throughout season 10 is just constant pain. Platonic friends don't look at each other longingly like Carol looks at Daryl my GOODNESS. When he shows up at her cottage in season 7, she practically melts into him. Istg she was dtf I feel almost like I was intruding.

i figured it out. I think the reason for the landslide of hate and scapegoating and overall rancidity of vibes is because all of you are fucking straight. I've been trying to understand Why y'all are so convinced a man and a woman cannot have a close, intimate friendship without it just Having to turn romantic and my best idea is that y'all have never heard the term queerplatonic. this makes perfect sense to me because if you ask any queer person if they cuddle their bestie on occasion and maybe even smooch a little sometimes they're very likely to respond with a hell yeah but that Does Not Mean any of them have the intention of pursuing a romantic relationship with said bestie. I'm gonna need my fellow faggots to tell me if I'm onto something but this might just be a key to this whole debacle. the heterosexual mind cannot comprehend befriending a member of the opposite sex because they automatically see them as a potential partner. for us queers befriending other queers is as natural as breathing, and does not imply any romantic and/or sexual intent. you guys are simply too cishet for AMCs medium bad spin off

Thing is, I'm not even a big shipper. I didn't ship Caryl my dumb ass just thought they WERE a thing up until season 5. I was just picking up what the show was putting down. Not my fault they wrote a close male/female friendship full of flirting, embracing, crying, flowers, forehead kisses, pet names and long loving gazes bitch what was I supposed to think? I was filling my dad in on what happened after he abandoned the show, I mentioned Carol and Ezekiel and he was like "Oh did she break up with Daryl?" hello????

Following the success of @gogandmagog's request for an Emily's "What's in my bag" and @those-things-we-said's suggestion we do a series, I present:
Ilse Burnley: What's in my Bag?
First, the bag. Ilse Burnley the acclaimed woman of the stage would absolutely carry something high end. Maybe not as far as a Birkin, but it would have a Brand that Proclaims Itself. This would have been Teddy's engagement gift instead of a designer dog lol. She would make sure all the paparazzi snap her while she's carrying this. However, Ilse Burnley of Blair Water goes around with a canvas tote, block-printed with "Caterwauling Quadruped" that Emily and Teddy gifted her as a joke, capable of holding everything and the kitchen sink. The outside of the tote bag would be decorated with pronoun pins and other provocative slogans; the fancy Brand Bag would have maybe one charm hanging from the handle.
In both bags, she'd always carry her essentials: phone, wallet, keys, makeup. This is all going in willy-nilly, though; no discrete bags or cases for her, so the wallet will have a smear of eyeliner on it, and the phone screen will be scratched by her keys. Ilse strikes me as an Android girl; she'd be fiercely anti-Apple. Wallet (made of vegan leather) would contain wads of cash, credit cards, and bus passes; a driver's license that she uses only because she gets carded buying alcohol but not because she actually drives (she's a passenger princess and public transport pro); member cards at all the stores because she loves herself a discount; a photograph of Perry with his faced carved out of it (but that's only because she keeps his face in a locket charm bracelet). She also has a recycled Blue-Q coin purse that says "Safe Sex" just to horrify the New Moon aunts (she keeps condoms in it. For herself, mostly, but she has been known to leave one or two in public bathrooms for those in need). Finally, makeup wise: intensely scented roller perfume for her wrists and neck, chapstick (cherry flavored--iykyk), eyeliner and mascara for quick touchups, and a lipstick tube she almost never opens.
Tumblr media
In terms of non-personal items, she'd absolutely carry a play script around with her at all times. One will be whatever project she's currently acting in; the others would be Samuel French editions of her devoted idols (Jen Silverman--she staged The Moors during her time at Shrewsbury), her controversial faves (Caryl Churchill--these copies are angrily annotated), and whoever else is up and coming. She'd keep highlighters in two or three colors in her bag for reading and annotating (her color code is erratic and inconsistent) and of course it has no pencil case.
Other ephemera: postcards half-written and addressed to Emily, Teddy, and Perry from wherever she is; leaves or flowers she picked up in parks that remind her of home; jewelry she had gone out of the house wearing and then decided didn't go with her outfit after all.
This was so fun! Ilse has such a modern flair this really worked for her, I thought! Let me know if you want me to do any more! I slightly want to do Evelyn Blake lol

Remember when Carol and Daryl were trapped in the cave, and Daryl told Carol that if he went through the same things she did, he’d probably react the same way she did, “unless YOU tried to stop me.” And that isn’t my own emphasis on “YOU”; that is directly from Daryl’s own mouth, and the emphasis HE placed on that specific word.

tempted to ask for one of the dirty prompts but to spite myself, how about 23?
CARYL pls
Hey there nonny, here you go <3
23. vintage
It was the cabin all over again.
Carol felt the tension between them wrap around her spine like a taut string as they walked inside the dilapidated building to camp out for the night. It was the first time they were alone. Really alone. Without people muttering around them in French with questioning glances, and suspicious prying eyes following their every move. Daryl hadn't left her side since they reunited a few days ago – he simply clasped her hand and led her inside without a word to his French companions.
They'd held each other so desperately when she found him - his face was pressed into the crook of her neck, his fingers dug deep welts in her jacket, and his arms clutched her so close that she felt his heaving breaths right down to the tips of her toes.
His warmth lingered on her perpetually as she kept finding ridiculous excuses to touch him. She felt ashamed of her weakness, but losing him for all this time had made her fear worse. So her arms lingered on his sides when he checked her after a fight; she leaned into him as they walked, brushed against his fingers when she handed him his crossbow, or traced his face every time she checked his head wound and watched him stare at her lips longingly.
Even though everything ached at that look.
Her tears blurred her vision when his eyes roamed her face every spare moment they had together. He'd hesitate for a long moment before brushing them with his thumbs, and pressing his forehead to hers until it was time to keep moving again.
But the deep yearning for each other's warmth had evaporated into thin air the moment they were on this path by themselves. Reality kicked in as days passed, and she saw how different he looked here, how at ease he was with the terrain and the people.
It reminded her of the days after the cabin when she didn't know exactly where she fit into his life. As the distance between them grew, and his hesitance to approach her got stronger – an unexpected spark of sadness followed her.
They found a large, empty room in the building for the night. The floors were crusted marble, an old charred fireplace against a wall with a stack of wood that looked untouched for years, and a rusty bronze chandelier covered in cobwebs smashed in the corner. The walls were all crooked chunks of brick and plaster cracked away with time. Two long windows on either side of the fireplace filtered the dying light in the room.
She turned her back to him and removed her gun, coat, and jacket. There was a rustle of fabric behind her as he did the same. She unrolled their bedrolls and sat with her back against the wall as he knelt down and lit a fire. He reached into his pocket to draw a box of matches when a tiny brown wooden box fell out, rolled across the floor, and clattered against her right foot.
Carol lifted it to find a crude etching of a flower on top of it, she turned it in her hand as he stoked the flames. He chewed his lip and looked at the box, then back up at her. His hair was soft gold in the firelight with threads of silver peeking through it.
"What's this?" The box rattled as she turned it upside down.
"Open it." He sat with his back against the wall, a few feet away from her.
The box unscrewed, and sitting inside was a tarnished silver Jasper ring. It looked about a hundred years old, with soft ochre and black spots forming around the knots on the sides, the crevices, and the rim of the dotted silver bubbles around the textured green Jasper stone in the middle.
"A ring?" Carol furrowed her brow.
"It's a Jasper ring." Daryl's voice was soft, taking her back to another time when he'd used it to tell her a story. "Heard a long time ago that Jasper helps give you the courage to face hardships and strengthens bonds between loved ones that are gone."
She traced the knots on either side of the ring. "Celtic knots," Daryl moved closer and tentatively touched one. "That there is a love knot, a sign of love shared between two people."
Their eyes locked for one searing moment, his eyes lingering on her lips, tears glistening on his lashes. His lips were chapped and dry, he swiped them with his tongue before looking down at his hands. Carol turned back to the ring.
The Jasper stone was a gradient of streaked green and bright points of soft yellow patterns, like a constellation etched in stone. Its shine had dulled over the years, it looked like it had weathered quite a few storms. She could feel Daryl's eyes on her as she twirled the ring.
"It's beautiful."
"Yeah."
She turned and saw him gazing at her softly.
"Found it in this antique shop I was camping in one night when I was alone in the early days." He leaned his head back on the wall. "Reminded me of that ring you used to wear back at the Commonwealth – the one you lost after the battle."
"Is that why you kept this ring?" Carol hated how small her voice sounded.
He nodded, "It gave me hope."
She searched his eyes quietly even though she knew he was telling the truth.
"Dunno why but I thought for as long as I held on to it, you wouldn't forget me. Let me go." Daryl's eyes were pleading. "So when I saw you again, I could give it to you."
"I'm never going to forget you, Daryl."
His exhale trembled out of him, and his eyes glistened.
Carol wiped her tears and looked down at the ring. "Why didn't you give it to me?" The words cracked around the edges.
"Didn't think you'd want it anymore."
She looked back at him. His fringe covered his face and his fingers twitched in his lap. Carol held the ring out, Daryl accepted it quietly. She locked eyes with him and held out her hand. His eyes widened briefly, and shone in the moonlight as he searched her face. She smiled at him softly, and he placed the ring on her finger.
Leaning her head on his shoulder, she swayed her hand to catch the moonlight on the yellow specks of the Jasper stone. She turned to look at his watery blue eyes to find him staring at her longingly.
"What do you think?"
Daryl's lips quirked up, "It suits ya," he said without looking away from her.
Carol's smile wilted into the raw longing she'd felt when she thought she would never find him again. She caressed his jaw and she let herself see him – all of him beneath the thin veneer he'd donned to survive in this strange land.
Her resolve cracked and tears spilled anew when Daryl made a tiny whimpering sound in the back of his throat and pressed his forehead against hers. He turned his face into her palm and pressed his lips to it, then pulled her closer so she could rest her head on his chest. A few moments later, his breathing turned into soft snores, and the raw longing she felt escaped through her lips before she could stop it.
"Should've gone to New Mexico..."
The silence that followed made the fire crackle louder. The Jasper stone glinted in its light. Carol fisted her fingers in his shirt, nuzzling into his chest and letting her tears soak into his skin as he slept.
"It's still out there." Daryl's chest rumbled beneath her ear. She looked up.
"Yeah?" Carol's voice trembled.
"Yeah." Daryl's voice was firm.
His thumb grazed her cheek and caught her tears, his hand wrapped over the ring and held onto her hers tightly.
He kissed the crown of her head, and she nuzzled back into his chest and pressed a kiss to his skin. His arms engulfed her until she was surrounded by him. Daryl. His breath tangling in her hair, his heart thrumming in her ear, his skin grazing her lips, his warmth lulling her to sleep, and his ring wrapped around her heart.
Hope was not lost.

rewatching that trailer, it rly hits how unbalanced it is. you have carol over here actively trying to find daryl, and having all this callback stuff (the bow, the motorcycle), like her entire goal is to reunite, and then you have daryl doing... idk, france shit? being a Man with a Gun who is Shooting Bad Guys for Reasons probably. with like, no mention of carol at all? "to find home is to find each other," except we're gonna make that totally one-sided apparently, bc we can't jeopardize our male lead's sexy bachelor status when we still have so much super necessary, super asked for ship-baiting to do. like, why bring melissa in at all if you're not actually going to make caryl's relationship the focal point of the story?
idk man, hopefully it's just a shitty trailer, but i feel like i've smelt this odor before...

Not to be a downer, but the spin-off era has been so weird.
I waited since season 1 of twd to know where these helicopters were coming from, and then they make TOWL "an epic love story". .. why? Nothing against rick and michonne being in love, but.. I didn't need that. It just seems like such a weird decision.
And then dead city.. idk, again, just.. why? I'm so through watching maggie be miserable bc negan is in her breathing space. It's actually boring. Slow-burn will-they-won't-they, but it's about whether she'll forgive a man for gleefully murdering her husband with a baseball bat? Ok. I'm just not invested, sorry, lol.
And then they turn the Carol and Daryl spin-off into.. solo superhero man dresses like a European apocalypse model and everyone loves him.
What is going on.

We've only had the Book of Carol teaser two days now and already can't stop thinking about the pending reunion hug. How many takes do y'all think it'll take before Norman stops knocking her to the ground?

Hey guys!!
For a while I've been doodling portraits of Bloodborne characters as self-reference - to avoid the sameface, to design unshown characters, to study existing data and whatnot...
I was doodling them as I had the need for them, but recently I realized I've had so many of them piled up that I could share them already! I added some notes and also clarifications (as it is possible to skip some characters depending on the playstyle... or on lacking a PS for that matter....).
It is still not everyone, of course; I am still missing characters like two boss Witches of Hemwick when they were younger, Clocktower patients, the door NPCs (despite having full headcanons for two of them), some cut content names and what not. I hope I'll get to others some other time as I don't like leaving characters out, but I just feel like that's enough for a post!
Again, it is the SELF-reference. Some colors were altered from the data according to how /I/ draw the character (for example the 'greyish red' eyes looking grey or purple on most NPCs that use them, Edgar being more orange-haired than in the data, etc). For the 100% accurate colors, refer to the compilation from this post: ( x )
Bonus:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Special thanks:
Zullie the Witch for dataming all the ingame NPC face data ( x ) ( x )
Sanadsk / Omega Fantasy for adding everything in accessible matter ( x ), and for the corpse models ( x )
Mephistophea who made that wiki ( x ) (their Twitter)
AstralLace for mining Gratia's model specifically ( x ) (it is just a link to their Twitter, I didn't find the Tweet with Gratia but the model they datamined is in fandom wikias. Let me know if you find the exact post though!)
Sinclair Lore (Sophie and Sinclair) for showcasing many models in this video: ( x )
Tokami-Fuko for extracting some models, like Mico's ( x )
Saintmicolash for doing hella research on characters' proper names that was helpful with interpreting several characters ( x ) (this links to my reblog as he no longer has a Tumblr tho. explanation on Gracia (ガラシャ) isn't in the post but he made research on that one too)
@val-of-the-north for lending me two designs and helping with naming several characters
The Cutting Room Floor for finding and archieving cut names ( x )
Val (again), Crow and Fantomette for urging me to draw more of these and post them even though I hesitated
(correct me if made a mistake with the links!)
