Yeah dude most people are cunts about politics. Either you haven't been at this long or you are being purposely dense.
Most people don't even give you the benefit of treating others in good faith after you give them good faith. Frankly I don't have to treat you in good faith at all. And demanding it, is stretching that benevolence.
I gave the right stats, wrong name. I get my latin mixed up from time to time.
Here's the pdf
Enjoy not reading it in any great detail. Also another fun fact, the divide between women and men is the methods of murder used. Men are messy, women however prefer poison, and violence by proxy.
Interestingly, when a woman uses violence by proxy, we don't consider it statistically because technically she didn't kill her husband.
Then there is the sentencing and conviction gap between men and women as shown in the first statistics.
And then on top of that you have the sheer fact that if a woman wants to leave a man destitute, without home, car, money, children and everything else, all she has to do is divorce him and the courts will do that work for her. In short, right now a woman doesn't have to kill a man to take everything from him. Just marry him. Or just live with him for a certain amount of time.
Furthermore, you'll notice an interesting historical trend. When women were killing their husbands in greater numbers was when they had the least amount of protections from abusers and ability to safely leave. Now the situation is reversed where a man due to the Duluth model of domestic violence, a man is left in the spot where if he is abused he will be arrested. If he defends himself or his children he will be arrested, if he locks himself in a room he will be arrested. If his abuser hurts herself in abusing him, he will be arrested.
Don't like it? Start advocating for equal and fair courts that don't take account of gender or atleast stop advocating for the terrible policies you continue to do so.
So in closing why would you expect any other outcome? This btw is another case of pushing for a policy without concern for its outcomes.
Edit now that I have time to reply to you fully: I think I forgot to write a conclusion again so here it is.
The number of wives vs husbands doesn't actually deal with an issue of "validation of murder" as at no point will I say "murder is good" but that "your data is wrong" or that "pointing to the numbers of those murders don't actually address the point of which murder is validated."
To which I would also point out women have been shown statistically to more likely get away with their murder on a claim of self defense. Considering the conviction rate differences mentioned earlier, whether this claim was truthful or ad hoc after the act, remains a question, but does not change the overall fact that the system is more likely to convict a female murderer over a male one.
So your argument is untruthful, incorrectly applied, and wrong. Either way you look at it this was a bad move.
Also, an argument isn't valid or invalid by whether its made in good faith. What matters in debate is how convincing it is, in philosophy whether its true. Truth matters in our argument. Not whether I treat my opponent with respect he will not return in kind.
Good faith must be earned. Maybe you are a vaush fan, someone who treats everyone in the worst faith possible and then complains that they don't treat him in good faith, a good faith he has never close to earning.
Our system's issue isn't and hasn't been the for profit nature of it, but the government regulations. Because previously to the regulations it ran much more efficiently and effectively. But it was purposely mangled by people who vote like you. Because if you mangle a system to the point it doesn't function, then you can advocate for greater control and regulation. Succeed or fail you get what you want.
No its bait. It had nothing to do with the conversation. You could have picked self defense which has a better basis but you chose this.
Also whether you picked it knowingly you have more to say about feminism than about the healthcare debate. Whats more your arguments on healthcare are begging where as you speak authoritatively about feminism. Its clumsy and very transparent.
But I will play ball because Id rather deal with your strongholds and crush them rather lance some pointless boil.
Why destroy that which you don't hold strongly enough to defend?
https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/feminism-metaphysics/
https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/feminism-epistemology/
Feel free to not read it aswell but frankly see the work it's based on is in the form of kant's critique of pure reason. All post modern philosophy requires the irrational base kant provides for their theories. From modern Christianity, to socialism, to feminism. All of them cite his discrediting of reason in the formation of their philosophy.
Did you not know? Rationality is a tool of male oppression according to feminism.
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/227633936_Gendered_Rationality_A_Genealogical_Exploration_of_the_Philosophical_and_Sociological_Conceptions_of_Rationality_Masculinity_and_Organization
I would prefer primary citations but Im on mobile and the primary works are harder to find as I dont typically read them.
A discussion about the conflict in our ideas. Should we let our abstractions fight in an attempt to gain supremacy over each other while we are just indifferent observers? The standards of knowing whether you are right or wrong are deeply important. How do you know if you are wrong? I have my standard it's philosophical and its existence exists. Disprove that and everything else follows.
Can data be manipulated?
Also till this exact second I thought I was debating a rather effeminate man. Your race didn't come up in how you write.
And how many children are without a parent because of denied medical care, homelessness, police brutality, etc.
If you're going to use "but they have children", be consistent.

Gender liberation, in the end, is not a war between the good group and the bad. It is a collective struggle against the laws, cultural norms, social rules, and institutional policies that restrict all people, and uses rigid gendered categories to keep us so restricted.
I think if we are going to be able to move forward in this fight, trans men must abandon the notion that other men are fundamentally the “bad” gender — and that we don’t belong to that category because of our transness. We must embrace manhood as a state of both strength and profound lostness, an immense liability as much as it is a source of gender euphoric joy, and see the frustrated wanderings of other marginalized masculine people as of a piece with our own.
And so, in the interest of helping us all find our way to each other, here are some of the major struggles that trans men and cis men have in common:
Gender Dysphoria
Many people believe the experience of having gender dysphoria is something like having a phantom limb, or seeing the wrong image in the mirror, but that’s rarely true.
For a lot of trans people, gender dysphoria feels more like a maddening insecurity about how we look and how we are being perceived that seems to know no satisfaction, a mental itching that wanders all across our bodies, our faces, down our throats, across our hairlines, and even all over our clothes. It’s the uncertain sense we are not being ourselves correctly, an out-of-placeness that makes our very being feel like it has no right to exist.
Gender dysphoria is not caused by having the “wrong” gendered brain for one’s body (the notion of “male” and “female” brains is a myth), nor is it a mental illness afflicting only trans people. Rather, gender dysphoria is a pretty sensible trauma response to society’s unrelenting and coercive gendering. All people are categorized as a gender, assigned rules, and threatened with becoming less of a person should they fail to measure up. This means that even cisgender people can experience the terror of feeling that they’ve failed to enact their gender correctly and make themselves socially acceptable— a sensation that often gets called “gender dysphoria.”
I think I first realized that cis people could be gender dysphoric when the actress Amanda Bynes revealed she had tumbled into a major depressive episode after watching herself portray a male character in the comedy She’s the Man. The disturbance she felt from watching herself enact the “wrong” gender sounded exactly like how I felt back when I looked in the mirror at myself as a “woman.”
In 2019, when Jason Derulo complained about his bulge being removed with CGI for his role in the film Cats, I was reminded once again that cis people can feel utterly, dysphorically wrong in their bodies or how they are perceived. Each year, millions of cis people spend thousands of dollars on breast augmentations, jaw implants, hair plugs, and leg-lengthening surgeries, at least in part for gender dysphoric reasons, and if you’ve worn both male and female clothing before, you’ve likely recognized how much of the tailoring of garments is done to deliberately accentuate or even manufacture the gendered features of a person’s shape.
Cis people feel ill-at-ease in their bodies, and fail to measure up to gender normative standards too. That’s how artificially constructed and harshly enforced these standards really are.
In recent years, I’ve spent a good amount of time in gay male bathhouses. When I reveal this fact, even to other gay men, I’m sometimes met with confessions of deep bodily insecurity. The idea of being nude in a highly gendered sexual marketplace often causes people’s worst gendered fears to bubble up.
“I could never go to a place like that,” one cis gay man in his forties confessed to me. “My dick is too small. Nobody would ever want to look at me.”
“I wouldn’t fit in there,” said another cis man, a short, effeminate type with long flowing hair. “They might think I was a girl and kick me out or harass me.”
These men knew, of course, that I don’t have a penis, and can be mistaken for a woman from some angles. And I had just told each of them I’d never had any problem visiting the sauna. Yet they couldn’t shake the sense that I was doing manhood correctly enough, and they were somehow doing it wrong. Despite ostensibly being “cis,” they weren’t quite sure that manhood as a category could hold them as they really were — not when they were nude and vulnerable, surrounded by their idea of the proper man.
Of course, having been in these spaces frequently, I could have told them that nobody there is the “proper” kind of man at all. There’s just regular human beings in there — with sunken chests, stretch marks, amputated limbs, multi-layered bellies, rounded backs, tiny hands, and eye patches.
Over the years, cis men have shared dozens of gender dysphoric insecurities with me, about everything from the width of their shoulders to the length of their eyelashes to the way they hold a can of beer. And in some of the sections below, we will explore more specific examples, because these sources of dysphoria mirror trans men’s almost exactly. But it’s important to establish first that the major commonality across both groups of men is our fear we’re not being men correctly at all.
Every man, I believe, grapples with the disjoint between their actual, complex human selves and the strong, built, stoic, powerful, masculine image that has been pushed upon us. And we fear living up to that standard because the consequences of that failure can be so harsh — these norms are quite violently imposed.
Failing to be a man, in some sense, is what being a man actually means. We are united in the precarity of our position, as powerful as it is. A man in a tank-top with a bald spot sitting beside a lush pond. Photo by Beth Macdonald on Unsplash
Hair Insecurities
“I wish I could grow a full beard so that I could pass better,” says Topher, a trans guy with long hair in his mid-twenties. “But I’m realizing that cis men with long hair get misgendered often too.”
Dunmer, a bisexual trans guy, echoes this experience. “In this one chemistry class a few years ago, both me and this cis guy got called ma’am by a professor. I’m a rather effeminate/androgynous dude, but I have prominent facial hair. And the other guy who got misgendered was pretty masculine, but had long hair and was clean shaven. We both just kinda looked at each other and shrugged after it happened.”
I’ve found that numerous cis and trans men harbor deep insecurities about their hair — where it’s growing, where it doesn’t, how it looks on their bodies, and where they might be losing it. It may sound like a frivolous subject at first blush, but hair is integral to gendered perceptions, as well as how others view our sexual attractiveness, race, and age.
Trans men worry frequently about potential hair loss on T for more aesthetic reasons. I’ve known numerous trans masculine people who have avoided starting hormones because they’ve feared eventually going bald and becoming “less attractive.” And in this we aren’t alone, as 52 billion dollars gets spent each year (by people of all genders) on hair loss prevention treatments.
“It’s helped me to realize that cis men are also scared of going bald,” says Topher. “When I worry about something gender-wise, I ask myself if cis men deal with what I deal with, and it’s helped me settle into my identity more.”
Cis and trans men also share complicated feelings about body hair. Though being covered in a dark blanket of fuzz certainly reads as “masculine,” male beauty standards for the last several decades have eschewed hairiness in favor of a the glistening, action-figure-y look. Trans and cis men alike often fear that hair sprouting on their backs will make them unattractive, or that growing a “neckbeard” will be seen as slovenly. And it’s no coincidence that hairiness has often been linked with fatness and being racialized in many people’s minds — the uncontrolled proliferation of hair is often cast as animalistic, unclean, disgusting, less than human.
But some men have sought refuge from such punishing standards within the gay Bear community.
“I have never felt more welcomed in my masculinity than I have around other bears,” says Kody, a trans male bear. “I’m literally growing in my manhood — getting bigger, hairier, louder, taking up more space. While being really soft and tender too.”
I wrote about the many struggles that unite trans and cis men, and how a deep appreciation for our commonalities is essential to the fight for gender liberation. You can read the full piece for free, or have it narrated to you by the Substack app, at drdevonprice.substack.com.

Broken Bonds-Part 23
Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz x Reader, Jay Halstead x Reader
Mouse goes out to dinner with Stella and Kelly then Jay ends up at his hotel room
A/N: This story is still very much in an angst place. People get (what i think) are happy endings. But not yet 🤷♀️
Warnings: Mouse's POV so yeah 🤷♀️ I feel like that's a warning in itself 😂
Mouse walked you back to your jeep, you had to go to work. He hated the part of not having anything to do really between getting home and going to Georgia. He’d done all his paperwork, crossed all the t’s and dotted all the i’s. Times like this he missed the tech spot in intelligence, not like it would go over very smoothly right now anyways.
Mendez lived in town so he could go see him, see how he was adjusting to being back stateside. Something to get his mind off the fact that you were clearly hurting, again. He hated that he was home and still couldn’t do anything to fix your pain. He hated so much of where all of you had currently found yourselves.
The woman he loved was ripping herself to shreds, trying to spare everyone else’s heart around her and take care of her babygirl. Maybe he should’ve been stronger, turned her away..something but damn he was hers first.
He had stayed away from her purposely because he had found out she loved Jay and didn’t want to hurt either of them but when she’d found him? When she was standing in front of him, telling him how much she loved him, had never stopped loving him? How the hell could he turn her away? How the hell could he not hold her close? If loving her was what damned him he’d welcome it.
His best friend, well could he call Jay that anymore? It seemed weird after all this time to refer to Jay as anything else. Even after everything it felt wrong to think of him as anything but his best friend. He’d inadvertently hurt him, in the worst of ways. Jay was a good man in general, and had been a good man to you. Jay was a good father. Jay had been a good friend to him, they’d survived hell together, overseas and back home.
He shook his head and pulled his phone out to call Mendez, he just needed a few hours to clear his head. He was meeting Stella and Kelly for dinner, which was going to be interesting enough. He could imagine how the conversation with Stella was going to go, which he’d gladly take as long as she’d give her blessing for him to be around again, if you wanted him in Chicago he was coming home to Chicago no matter what it took.
Mouse pulled up to the restaurant where he was meeting Stella and Kelly. He wanted to text you and ask if you were ok but he knew you needed time. You had just told him that morning you needed to talk to Jay and the last possible thing you needed was for him to call or message you while you were talking to Jay.
At least Kelly still had that damn mustang. It was easy to spot in the parking lot and had an empty space next to it. He parked his rental and pocketed the keys.
____________
He walked in the door of the restaurant and didn’t have to look around before he heard Stella’s sharp whistle she used on the truck to get everyone’s attention. He turned towards the noise and saw her and Kelly sitting on the back wall. He smiled and headed that way.
When he got to the table Stella stood up and Kelly cut his eyes at him, ok here it comes. “Greg” ok he knew Stella was the opposite of you when it came to his actual name. If she called him Greg it was something serious. “Hey Stella. It’s good to see you” she drew her hand back and open palm slapped him across the face “That’s for breaking my sister’s heart when you not only rejoined the rangers but broke up with her when that was clearly not what she wanted!”
He reached to rub his face but before he could she pulled him into a hug “and this is for loving her enough to come your ass back to Chicago despite everything for her” he looked towards Kelly who shrugged before returning the hug “I’d come back from hell itself for your sister Stella” he promised and she pulled back from the hug and smiled at him “Ok, I got that out of my system. Let’s talk and eat. I need to make sure what your plans are because if you’re only one foot in I need to know so I can figure out where I’m burying you”
He laughed nervously, looking at Kelly who shook his head “She’s half joking” “Well, nice to know” he pulled out the chair across from them and sat down.
_____________
“What about Adeline, Greg?” Stella eyed him over her glass of wine. He sat down the water he was drinking “She’s her daughter Stel. I love her more than anything on this earth and even if he doesn’t believe me I still have love for Jay. We saw each other through a lot. That baby is a mixture of the two people who have meant the most to me in my adult life. Why wouldn’t I love her despite the circumstances? She’s innocent in everything. I respect that Jay has been amazing to Y/N throughout her pregnancy and since and I love him for it, I love that he’s a good father. As strange as it sounds I’m glad it was him over someone else that may have left her high and dry”
“Damn” Kelly muttered and Stella shot him a look. He shrugged “What? Baby that was a good answer, you gotta admit” Stella shook her head but Mouse saw the tiny smile tugging at her lips.
“So you’re telling me, as a man, it doesn’t make you hold resentment or anger towards her that she slept with your best friend?” “Towards her? No. I made the mistake of leaving and of breaking up with her when I left but I can’t hold resentment because of Addy” “Damn” Kelly repeated again and when Stella shot him another look he took a sip of his drink and looked away like the wall suddenly interested him more than annoying his wife further.
Stella snapped her fingers and pointed at him “Your training is eighteen weeks. She works with Jay, they co-parent. You’re not gonna be worried something may happen?” “I’ve made it clear to her and will make it clear to her again that all I ask for is honesty in that and we’ll get through it” Stella shook her head and took another sip of her wine “I don’t remember you being this fucking perfect for my sister”
Kelly scoffed “He’s been head over heels for her since the first day he started working with intelligence baby” Stella finished her wine and reached for her water instead, eyeing Mouse as she did “Ok, what if she picks Jay but still wants you in her life? Hmm Mister perfect?”
He smiled slightly “I’ll be her friend. Whatever she wants me to be, I’ll be” “Damn” Stella was the one to say it this time. Mouse laughed lightly “Stel, I’m not saying what I think you want to hear. I love her, she’s the love of my life. Not a day that’s gone by where that’s changed. Did it hurt like hell finding out she slept with Jay and was pregnant?” he cut his eyes at Kelly “How would you feel?”
“I’d want to kill him but my feelings for her wouldn’t change” Kelly replied. Mouse nodded “Exactly. It ripped my fucking heart out but the pieces still belonged to her. I tried to move on, a couple times when we were on leave overseas” Stella raised an eyebrow “And?” he laughed “Kinda hard to do when I saw your sister everywhere I looked. No matter where I was, no matter what the woman in front of me looked like she didn’t compare to her. I didn’t even know she’d been with Jay up until the day I came home until this morning”
Stella grimaced slightly “You didn’t?” he shook his head “No, and do you think that shit didn’t hurt? To know while I was on a plane home, she was waking up in Jay’s arms telling him she loved him. What if she changes her mind when I’m gone? What if she wants him again? What if she doesn’t trust me when I’m gone… Stella I’ve went over so many scenarios in my head but the one thing that’s true is what you told me before I ever left”
“If you can’t stand to see her in somebody else’s arms then it’s still worth fighting for” he nodded “She told me she loves me, that she’s still in love with me, that she never fell out of love with me. That’s what I’m going to hold on to. I’m going to do my best to make sure she knows whatever happens she can tell me, she can trust me. I’m not fucking it up this time Stella. I would still do damn near anything for Jay but I was hers first”
Kelly grinned and Stella cut her eyes at him “What was that about?” he shrugged “I like the fact that he didn’t claim ownership of her, he gave her ownership of him” Mouse cut his eyes at Kelly with a grin “There’s worse options then being owned by one of the Kidd women isn’t there?”
Stella and Kelly walked with Mouse out to the parking lot. Mouse couldn’t help but feel his heart ache at seeing the two of them. They were so damn happy, you and him were that happy at one time.
“Mouse?” Stella called so he cut his eyes at her “Yeah?” she smiled “Don’t stop fighting for her. She deserves the best type of love regardless of who she ends up with” he smiled slightly “Yeah, she does”
He told them goodnight then headed back to his hotel room. He hoped you’d call to say goodnight or maybe call him in the morning. Either way he needed some sleep.
Stella told Kelly she wanted to stop by your place to talk to you after they left the restaurant and he laughed as he pulled out onto the road, already pointed towards your apartment “However did I know?” She laughed and leaned over to kiss his cheek “Because you’re the best husband to me and the best brother in law to her”
He shook his head as he drove to your place, listening to her talk about you and Addy. He pulled into the spot next to your jeep and cut his eyes at her “Go ahead baby, I’ll just wait out here” she smiled and leaned over to pull him into a kiss “I love you so much” he smiled against her lips “I know. I love you too. Tell her I said hey and give Addy a kiss for me”
_____________
You heard someone knocking at the door. You had at least managed to make it back up to the couch. You took a deep breath and braced yourself just in case it was Jay. Mouse wouldn’t come to your place. He didn’t want to step on Jay’s toes where Addy was concerned.
“I’m coming” you called out, wincing slightly at how rough your voice sounded from crying. You walked over and almost didn’t unlock the door when you realized who it was but what good would it do when she or Kelly could knock the door down if they really wanted to?
You unlocked the door and swung it open, keeping your gaze down “Hey Stel” she grinned “Hey honey be…” she trailed off when she looked at your face “Who is responsible for that? Because I’m gonna kill them”
“I’m fine Stel” you tried but she was already pushing into the apartment and turning you around towards the light to get a better look at your face “Yeah cause lord knows I cry until my face is freakin swollen in places when I’m fine. Now let’s try this one more time before you have to call in favors with Voight to get him to call in favors to get me off murder charges. Why were you crying?”
“It’s no one’s fault but mine” you whispered and she shook her head, keeping her voice low because of the time and she knew Addy was asleep “Bullshit. Did Jay make you cry? Because Mouse has been with me?” “I talked to him..he knows I slept with Greg…I’m a fucking horrible person Stella..I’m fucking poison…I want them both to leave me alone”
You didn’t realize tears had started again until she pulled you into her arms “What do you mean? Honey, talk to me?” “I keep hurting them both and they won’t hate me. Jay won’t, Mouse damn sure won’t….how much easier would Mouse’s life be if he could’ve forgotten me and never come back to Chicago? How much easier would Jay’s life be if he’d gotten literally anyone else pregnant? I can’t stop hurting them even when I try my best to keep from doing it”
She directed you to the couch and sat down with you laying against her chest “Oh honey bee..They love you..no matter the why or the how..they love you. You are the type of person who will rip yourself to shreds for those you care about, I’ve seen you do it one too many times. Don’t do it anymore. You have a precious little girl who needs her mom. You can not help what your heart wants. You are not poisonous or horrible. You’re human love, with human emotions and that’s ok”
“Where’s Kelly?” you asked and she leaned back to look down at you “He’s in the car, do you want him?” you shook your head “Do you gotta go since he’s waiting?” she smiled “Not if you need me. I’ll tell him to go grab me a change of clothes and bring em back. I’ll go with you to drop off in the morning” “I still work with Jay and share a daughter with him and Mouse is still leaving thursday for four and a half months where he can’t come home but every other weekend or so”
“We’ll figure it out babe. Sisters are ride or die remember. You’ve been there for me. It’s just my turn to be there for you”
Jay walked down the hallway of the hotel until he found the room number that was registered to Mouse. He had to talk to him. There was no other option, and actually talk. This needed a mature approach not pushing buttons and seeing what happened.
He knocked on the door and heard shuffling of jeans on carpet before it opened. Mouse looked a bit confused before asking “Do I need to duck here or what?” Jay shook his head “No, we need to talk”
Mouse stepped back and waved his arm “Come on in”
_____________
Jay stepped into the room, his eyes flickering towards the bed before turning to face Mouse. “She told me” Mouse nodded “So is this where I duck?” Jay shook his head “You do know that no matter what, me and her are gonna have to be in each other’s lives?”
Mouse nodded “The shared daughter and job sort of told me that” “Her and Addy are my girls Greg. I love her more than I ever meant to. I don’t want to see her hurt and more so I don’t want my daughter getting used to someone then that person up and leave” Mouse nodded “I get that, all of that”
“Then you can see how finding out that the woman I love cheated on with my best friend fucking felt?” “Hurt, didn’t it?” Mouse asked and the two stood there staring at each other for a long second before Jay said “You weren’t with her” “No but she’s the love of my life Jay. I’d cut my heart out of my chest right this moment if that’s what she needed. There’s not a damn thing I wouldn’t do for her”
“Would you walk away if she asked you to?” Jay questioned and he nodded “If that’s what caused her the least of amount of pain, yes” “I’ve been with her for months, I held her while she brought our daughter into the world” Jay said and Mouse nodded “I know, you’re a good man Jay and a fucking amazing father. Y/N loves you Jay, she truly does. You mean so much to her”
“I wished cards would’ve fallen differently. You’re my best friend Mouse. You pulled me out of shit my own brother didn’t care to” Jay admitted and Mouse nodded in agreement “You pulled me out of shit no one cared to. I’d still do just about anything for you Jay but don’t ask me to walk away from her without a fight. I’m not leaving past my training unless she tells me to leave”
“And if she told you to?” Jay asked and Mouse shrugged “I’d tear my heart out of my chest to spare her pain” “What about Addy?” Jay asked, Mouse took a deep breath “You two have a beautiful daughter. You’ve done an amazing job raising her and no matter who she ends up with you are Adeline’s father Jay, only you”
Jay nodded and held out his hand. Mouse took it and when they shook it Jay said “Maybe one day we can actually get back to being best friends again” “I hope so”

Veilguard hobbies
Yes there is a book club
However I would like to propose another activity that the Veilguard does for team bonding, decompressing between missions, and passing time when they're not running around with Rook.
Knitting circle/stich 'n' bitch
It starts by accident, Lucanis is in the kitchen and has taken out his knitting, he's making himself a new cardigan, while he's keeping an eye on something he has roasting. The side dishes are all completed or will take only moments to finish. The main dish will take longer. He knows many dishes that take less time, less effort, but roasting is its own art and it's been a year since he's cooked anything. Besides all that, the ingredients available are limited. He'll need to go shopping.
Rook, because of course it is Rook, sees the knitting and does not comment. Instead, they leave for a bit and come back with an embroidery hoop, needles, and a collection of colored thread (Provided by the Lighthouse and unbeknownst to Rook, this is the first thing that the Lighthouse has provided to just Rook, not to Rook being partially overshadowed by the desires of the Dread Wolf in their head). Rook (My Ingellvar at least) embroiders as a hobby (among other hobbies). They take a seat by the fire and begin to place careful stitches. Lucanis watches as wisps begin to crowd around the mage, giving them better light for their needle work. Lucanis and Rook sit calmly together, the only interruption for either of them was Lucanis pausing at times to turn the roast and (in Rook's eyes) perform some sort of magic that made the roasting meat smell even more appetizing.
Lucanis sees the door open from his place in the kitchen and Harding peer inside. Like Rook, the dwarf leaves and returns. Harding arrives with more yarn and their own needles sand silently sat at the table. She chose a spot outside of Lucanis's striking range and had her bow and quiver at her side as she cast loops onto her knitting needles. She's planning on mittens for the team.
Bellara is next, drawn by the smell, and gives a little "oh" of delight at the sight of the three. She leaves and returns with Neve. Bellara is holding a pair of knitting needles and Neve leads her through the basics while the detective's own fingers fly as she knits silk stockings. Neve, Lucanis, and Harding all keep an eye on Bellara's efforts and each offer tips and instruction as Bellara begins to knit a scarf.
Eventually Lucanis finishes making dinner and puts away his knitting. The other four put away their own projects and set the table. Then his new teammates fall upon the meal as though they've never tasted food before. Between the praises for his cooking and the...interesting sounds the other four make, the Crow can only hope that the worst of his blush is hidden by his beard.
The next time he knits in the kitchen instead of the privacy of the pantry, it happens again. First Rook with their embroidery, a garden of flowers blooming from their needle, then Harding with their own knitting and her bow and quiver. Then Bellara with her slowly lengthening scarf and Neve and her stockings.
It happens again. Each of them brings their own project. Bellara is the first to break the silence to question Neve about a case involving a particular magister. Lucanis recognizes the name and he bites the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling. Rook doesn’t recognize the magister's first name but they do recognize the family name. It seems they had a Nevarran ancestor, an ancestor who was and still is very chatty. Rook regales them with stories from the magister's many times great uncle and scandals of the Blessed age that caused the uncle to retreat to Nevarra. Harding offers delicious bits of gossip from the Inquisition.
The next week the magister is dead and Neve's needles click with outrage as she describes what has to have been murder but the magister had been in a locked room and there was no trace of magic or poison. The man had dropped dead in a locked room! Rook offers to try to raise the magister to see if he knew anything about his death and Bellara postulates various outlandish theories that Lucanis makes note of because some of those could be viable. Harding is more curious about who wanted the magister dead rather than the method of death which causes Neve to think out loud and she may end up revealing more magisterial gossip than she intended.
The next week Lucanis will have heard back from Teia and Viago and be able to answer at least some of Neve's endless questions about the case. He can't tell her who paid for the contract or exactly how it was done, that would be unprofessional. But he can confirm for her that it was murder and let her know that the door had not been locked when the Crow entered the room. Her needles still clack loudly as she knits more silk stockings. Rook's garden is finished and now hangs above the stove, lavender and other purple flowers he doesn’t recognize, encircling a phrase in an old Nevarran twist on ancient Tevene that Rook refuses to translate. Rook works now on the heels of the stockings that Neve has finished, embroidering snakes in bright blue and yellow and pink tulips, adding strength, flexibility, and length to the silk stockings as well as a sense of style for the detective. Harding has finished her own mittens and is working on another set in bright yellow. Bellara's scarf continues to grow in length. All of them are trying to guess what Rook's embroidered decoration says, each of them coming up with more outlandish ideas.
Emmrich joins them and he works on cross stitch design on a waistcoat. Manfred serves them all tea and then wields his own needle and thread, deftly working through the mending that they’ve all kept to themselves but now find piled up in a basket by Manfred when they gather. It's the first time they gather when Lucanis isn't cooking something that takes more time than it does attention. Rook is embroidering flowers onto woven bands, lavender and others he doesn’t recognize. Bellara asks Emmrich to translate Rook’s previous project and the older mage nearly spits out his tea when he sees the little circle of purple flowers and Tevinter-Nevarran. He refuses and Harding postulates that it’s something very rude. Bellara counters that’s something scandalous instead. Rook diverts them with gossip she overheard while in Treviso and Lucanis finds himself under interrogation about Antivan merchant princes and their love affairs.
Davrin carves new knitting needles for those who knit, all of them have customized decorations on the ends of their needles so they can be told apart quickly and easily. Bellara proudly leads him through the basics so he can start his own scarf. Assan is given his own ball of yarn to keep him from the yarn being used by the others. He’s also diverted with scritches by those who have paused because of hand cramps and snacks from all of them who can sneak the treats past Davrin’s sharp eyes. Davrin is on Harding’s side that Rook’s project says something rude.
Harding stops bringing her bow and quiver and instead provides her Ma’s apple pie. Rook brings cookies from her favorite Nevarran bakery. Taash brings Rivani fruit.
Taash initially helps Manfred with the mending but the wisp of Curiosity has very high standards for mending and Taash’s stitchwork leaves much to be desired in the eyes of Manfred. Manfred does not tell Taash that Taash’s work is not good enough. Taash does not realize until they see Manfred reinforcing the seams on a shirt that Taash had just finished reinforcing. Taash instead starts to knit hats and complains about idiots in the Lords that have no idea about the difference between different dragons. Their first project is a hat for Harding. Taash is on Bellara’s side that Rook’s first project has something “spicy” on it.
Bellara will end up with a scarf that could be wrapped around the neck of a giant. All of them will have knitted hats that match their personalized mittens. All of them have stylish silks stockings with clocked heels and embroidered bands on the hems of their sleeves and collars. And all of them will have all the good gossip.
Lucanis will learn what Rook’s project said.
Notes: Yes Neve could buy socks but before machine industry, most people made their socks. The "clocking" was a way to show style as well as help make stockings fit better. Among the people in Dock town we mostly see people who are barefoot or in sandals. Those implied to be upper class have clothes long enough and shoes tall enough that socks are not necessarily immediately noticeable but are likely for people able to afford nicer clothing. Neve is not rich but Neve is very stylish. She can make socks, though she'll probably take socks and mending as her fee from some of her clients in the past. Taash is okay at mending, Manfred just has higher standards. This is taken from my great grandma's attitude towards sewing. If your work did not meet your standards, she would wait until you were gone and then unpick your threads and redo them herself. For Rook's embroidery and Emmrich's cross stitch, a relatively easy way for a mage of limited means to make themselves look more prosperous and thus like a mage who has connections or a patron that make them unsafe to mess with is to add fancy thread work, threadwork that looks fancy enough to have to have been expensive to commission, to their clothes until they have the means to be more obviously the sort not to mess with due to Connections and Political Power. Some mages learn to make lace for the same purposes. And some Southern mages learned fancy work like that in the hopes that they could use the not magical skills to support themselves if they ever managed to destroy their phylactery and get away from the Circle.

SOUR NOTE, oikawa tooru x fem! reader
THE BAND LINE UP: genesis
after calling it quits with his situationship, a lead singer of a band at the university, oikawa tooru can’t shake the feeling that things aren’t as over as they seem. his way of winning her back? start his own band and compete with hers to get her attention, even if it ends on a sour note.
in collaboration with ephemeral by @solarvrse.
Give it up for Genesis!
Meet the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Y/n L/n—the face and voice of the band!
A true natural on stage that her presence alone is enough to make the crowd go wild! A third-year marketing student with a way with words, whether it's writing a new song or coming up with the perfect marketing pitch, she also handles the band’s coordination with venues and promoters outside the university. Some might swear they could faint from how hot she is but beware, her temper burns even hotter.
She’s always on fire—before you know it, you’re just a moth drawn to her flames!
Meet the lead guitarist, Eita Semi—the showstopper!
The moment his riff solo hits, the crowd is electrified, hanging on every note! A third-year music student with a competitive edge, he contributes immensely to the band’s original sound and musical identity. Known for his talent and stage presence, Semi doesn’t just play the guitar—he owns it. He’s the glue that keeps the band grounded, always ready with a sharp quip or a guiding hand to elevate their music to the next level.
You know the show isn’t over until Semi has stolen the spotlight!
Meet the drummer, Satori Tendou—the erratic heartbeat!
The crowd isn’t alive until his sticks are hitting the drums! A third-year culinary student, he’s probably banging pots in the kitchen if he’s not behind his kit. He never misses the chance to drop a drumroll or a perfect badum tss at the worst possible moment. True to his eccentric nature, Tendou names his drumsticks and talks to them like they’re his bandmates but will probably break them the following week.
Once Tendou starts banging on the drums, the crowd can’t help but bang their heads!
Meet the bassist, Wakatoshi Ushijima—the steady ground!
The crowd knows too well that he prefers to let his bass do the talking! A third-year sports science student who initially had no interest in music or thought of being in a band, Ushijima now takes his role as the bassist very seriously, bringing unwavering commitment to the band. He is known as the stoic bassist with dad energy, which is agreed upon by both the band and the fans. If he isn't in the practice room, he's probably at the gym.
Reliable and steady, Ushijima’s presence is as solid as his basslines!
Meet the backing vocals and keyboardist, Kenjirou Shirabu—the harmony!
The perfect blend of smooth and sharp, his harmonies and vocals complete the soul of the band! A second-year nursing student with a keen sense of precision, whether it is pressing the right key or remembering details of human anatomy. Usually found in the corner of the practice room, pretending he’s not judging everyone’s music taste. Despite being the last to join, he’s proven that he’s an integral part of the band’s sound.
Watch out—his underrated keyboard skills and vocals can steal the show when you least expect it!

How the Bachelors and Bachelorettes react to your child having magic:
Haley: Surprisingly, not surprised, she says she has odd vague memories of being able to breathe underwater as a little kid, but that ability was gone once she was a tween. You start to question her heritage after one of your kids runs an errand for the fish in your fish pond...
Maru: What! WHAT!? Why is the baby surrounded by small balls of light? What are the balls of light? What's going on?! You have to explain this slowly to her that those are fairies and they've taken a liking to your child. She needs to study this... is her child some kind of scientific anomaly? Should she call Demetrius?
Penny: She almost has a heart attack when your child throws a fit, and the entire living room immediately bursts into vines and leaves. She knows this isn't normal, but she wants to protect her child. So she calms them down and calls you and asks what the heck is going on. She isn't fully relieved when you explain, but at least you've explained.
Leah: When her family told her that parenting was hard, she didn't expect to be watching her child actually talk to the wood for her sculptures, and it changed in their palm. She talks to them, moves them away, and asks you for an answer. Suddenly, she starts to understand how you've made so much progress on the farm in so little time.
Abigail: Not surprised, she laughs as the baby sits on the floor in the living room and chews their way through a wood block with no issues. She seems surprised that you're so surprised. A conversation with Caroline and Pierre reveals that Abigail has always found a way to chew through just about anything, even metal. You should maybe watch what your baby is eating from now on.
Emily: Not at all shocked, spent the whole pregnancy/adoption process feeling the baby's aura, and she knew they'd be special. When the baby started glowing, she smiled with so much love in her eyes. You do have to explain the forest magic to her when you find your child being babysat by a bunch of junimos, but she welcomes them into the house anytime.
Sam: He's singing a song with your child around the farm when the flowers in the grass seem to be getting weirdly... large... the more your kid sings, the bigger the surrounding foliage gets. He's surprised that your child's little singing voice is making plants grow, doesn't fully freak out, and keeps trying it on different plants. When you get back, your field is full of giant crops you've never even seen before. He sheepishly apologies but is super interested to find out that his kid is magic
Shane: He's weirded out when your child hatches a purple ostrich after asking to help with eggs. But then again, he can't judge... he created blue chickens... but he gets concerned when your kid is having full conversations with the chickens... and seems to be getting answers back. You explain the magic in the valley, and he starts to question if the alcohol has fully messed up his brain or something.
Elliott: He's always said your child was special... he didn't think they were special enough that their tiny baby hands could bring the plants in his cabin back to life even after years of being watered with sea water. He's both filled with questions and inspiration for a new book, but questions first, he wants to know everything.
Sebastian: He finds out when your child seems to have a weird connection to your slime hutch. They keep walking over there and crying about not being allowed to go inside. Eventually, they do get inside somehow, and Seb fears the worst... but he finds your child giggling and covered in the slimes with no issues and no slime charmer ring. How? Even you don't know, but you do have to explain some of the other magic around Pelican town. He knew about the monsters and the weird animals, but he's so invested when you tell him about all the other things. He still wants your child to be safe, though, so no more slime hutch adventures for them for a while, at least not without you.
Alex: Alex has always wished his mom was still alive to meet your child. He plays his mother's lullaby every night to put them to sleep. One night, he hears the baby crying, and when he walks into the nursery to put them back to them back to sleep the music box starts playing, and when he wipes the sleep out of his eyes he swears he sees the ghost of his mother rocking your baby to sleep. He freezes, watching for a moment before your baby finally drifts off, and his mothers spirit fades. He wants to cry, but he checks on the baby and goes to wake you up and talk about the experience. You have to explain the valleys magic and how you've had similar experiences with your grandfather's spirit. Alex hugs you. He's just happy you've given your child a chance to meet his mom... even if it's just once.
Harvey: Your child is kinda sick, not anything life threatening but certainly not very comfortable for your child. Harvey was working on making some soup for your child when they called out for some water. Harvey fills the glass with water, but it's quickly forgotten when the soup starts to over boil. When Harvey finally refocused, the glass was gone as well as the medicine and the tissues. When he goes to your childs room, they're surrounded by junimos bouncing up and down with joy after helping them. He freaks out and moves then away before calling you in a full-on panic attack. You run home and have to put your child back to bed and calm Harvey down and explain that the junimos like to help. He calms down when he finds out they aren't harmful but wishes you would have explained sooner.

Olivia has lupus. How could she? 🤦♀️🤷♀️
In my opinion, I don't really believe Olivia has Lupus. I'm just going by all the pics and vids she's posted of herself on IG over the years. She's put that out there for public consumption. With that being said, I don't know how anyone with Lupus can survive this long as a smoker.
You just don't go on for years and years smoking, eating junk food on the road and swallowing energy drinks like it's water when you have Lupus. It's not possible for the body to survive for years with all those toxins going inside your body. No one with Lupus can survive that for that long.
That's why I always questioned if Olivia has Lupus.
Lupus is a disease that destroys your organs. Imagine being a smoker with all that happening in your body. Jesus Christ.
Lets look at Selena Gomez.
She went years smoking, partying and allegedly doing drugs. She had no idea she had Lupus. When she found out she had Lupus, she needed a kidney transplant. The Lupus destroyed her kidney and her lifestyle made it worst. Not her fault really. She had no idea she had Lupus. Once she did, she changed her lifestyle.
Halsey is another one. She glorified smoking from 2011 - 2020.
Halsey - smoked for years, partied hard and also allegedly did drugs. She got pregnant, got herself clean for her baby and as soon as she had her son, she got gravely sick. She learned she had Lupus after giving birth. She probably was another one walking around without any idea of having Lupus.
Both Selena and Halsey did interviews over the years describing fatigue and "I feel like there's something wrong with me but I don't know what it is" - not knowing what was wrong with them was that they had Lupus. They knew something was wrong but they didn’t know what the hell it was.
At least when they both found out they had Lupus, they changed their lifestyles completely, living clean healthy lives.
But Olivia? According to what she posts on her IG - she hasn't changed anything despite "having Lupus". What do her doctors say? What does Jack say? People die from Lupus everyday. Posting #Lupuswarrior on IG one time for getting a Covid vaccine ain't doing shit for her.
I actually took a look at her IG just now. She hasn't posted anything with smoking, energy drinks or junk food it seems for a while. Then again, I don't watch her IG religiously, so maybe she deleted something. Maybe she finally quit smoking or perhaps she doesn't post it on social media anymore. She use to get a lot of criticism back in the day for posting smoking pics. She would snap at people in the comments who asked her why she was smoking when she had Lupus. Typical Olivia behavior.
For her health's sake, I hope Olivia finally quite smoking. No one in this day and age should be smoking. It causes cancer. Period.
As someone who has friends and family members with Lupus, I see the pain and struggle with having Lupus. People are placed in disability for Lupus for a good reason.
Here's a documentary on Lupus for those interested.

Oh I don't think I've seen the addition, SO TRUE, Makoto is very selfless in a very selfish way, he doesn't want anyone to die, even if they're the worst people humanity has ever known, because they are people. The worst you can get from him is him admitting to not feel overly bad they died, see his reactions to Celeste, but even then he's still upset and frustrated because she was a human being and no human being deserves to die. Not Celeste, not the Remnants, and not Junko.
Makoto cannot be conflated with Future Foundation, because Makoto constantly butts heads with Future Foundation. He does not like Future Foundation very much, he doesn't trust it, he doesn't really like the people there it seems, and they don't like him either. They're basically forced into working together because Makoto has the brand and Future Foundation has the resources. Even then though, they are ALWAYS at each others throats.
Even before DR3, you see hints of that in the emails Future Foundation sent Makoto in Goodbye Despair in how they assume he was tricked by the remnants, but at the same time they had forced the remnants onto him before they knew they were remnants because they were vaguely the same age.
This also gets mirrored more in UDG when you see that people are NOT really fully sold on Future Foundation, distrusting it, and while some of that is propaganda by Towa, the general vibes of "we cannot trust Future Foundation" are everywhere when they even vaguely get brought up, and there's got to be more to it. Future Foundation needs Makoto for their image, but they do not respect Makoto, and they especially don't respect any of the survivors outside of like maybe, Byakuya and Kyoko somewhat.
Toko is STILL running around in the same ragged outfit in UDG, and while Toko is unhygenic, at some point that's gotta stop being an actual choice and more they straight up might not have other clothes for her because it's gotten REALLY ragged and I'd like to think by that point she'd at least put on a fresher version. The survivor and Future Foundation are not friends, they are extremely uneasy allies, ones that Makoto was more then happy to cut ties with for GBD.
However besides that Makoto is very much a person struggle to understand or connect to, which you can see in Chihiro's FTE's where Chihiro notices they've been doing all the talking and Makoto hasn't had any chance to talk about himself, then has to directly ask Makoto to actually talk about himself, and even then, HE FORGETS HE SAID HE'D DO THAT it takes THREE free time events to get Makoto to open up AT ALL to Chihiro despite Chihiro clearly wanting to know about him.
Which even when he DOES he barely says anything about himself, one of which is just a straight up self deprecation, before the conversation shifts BACK TO CHIHIRO'S PROBLEMS
Actually, there is one other really interesting bit here when Chihiro addresses their issues with inferiority and Makoto actually opens up a bit because it's in the name of Chihiro's problems, not his own.
Makoto directly states that he feels inadequate and ordinary, forgettable even. He's painfully aware that he's just, average. Then when asked how he overcomes it, he straight up says he doesn't think he can, and instead he just accepts it and doesn't let himself think about it. Saying he's accepted it and just distracts himself, which very much implies he has not in fact, accepted it. Makoto displays these SAME BEHAVIORS as the Ultimate Hope. He throws himself into bigger and bigger hard projects, things that let him forget.
Makoto is actually has a lot of avoidant personality traits at times, and they make up some of his worse self deprecating habits. So of course he sees a situation like Junko's or the Remnant's and just, be avoidant about what they've done. Downplaying, or denying, or talking around it, he does not let himself come to terms with anything, because he runs from it. He doesn't think about what they've done, he focuses on the problem of how to save them.
Really, it's a willful ignorance even, he knows logically what they've done, and says he accepts it, but refuses to process it on any emotional level and doesn't think about it. He goes "well they've done horrible things, and i accept that so lets just not let them die" then doesn't actually process what any of that... actually says and means. What they've actually done, what it means to let them live and let these terrorists who have tortured thousands of people, one of which who has led to the downfall of basically an ENTIRE nation, casually live on a deserted tropical island by themselves.
The ethics of whether he did the right thing are not could be debated for fucking hours with no solid conclusion one way or the other. Especially since he fucking leaves before he can even... confirm that the other remnants won't wake up as remnants. Really, his avoidance is what leads him to these great feats of hope, and there is hope don't get me wrong, he's very much an embodiment of hope and a lot of how he avoids has roots in that overwhelming Hope he's capable of. He's still distracting himself from what that means though, still running from himself and the deeper ramifications of everything, still hiding behind the excuse of just being some average person.
He doesn't come to terms with what he is, and what he's doing, because he doesn't think he can cope, he can't overcome it, so he runs into bigger and bigger projects on what can seem like a whim without thinking through them, he can't stop running, if he stops running, it'll catch him, so he needs to keep running.
Junko didn't let him run though, Junko never lets him run, never lets him sit in his denial or pretending that he's just accepted it. Which is definitely one of the reason she has such a profound impact on him.
I don't even know if this makes sense anymore but uh yeah, Makoto is REALLY INTERESTING and I'm biting anyone who pretends like he's not so they can make some joke about how clearly people only Makoto because he's baby.
you ever think about how makoto naegi can understand anyone but no one understands makoto naegi. and that this is the one fundamental thing he shares with junko enoshima.

SaL anon here friend and AO3 may be back up but that doesn't mean I'm done bitching. On my mind is Buck, and specifically has Buck had a arc/storyline that was actuallt complete since S3?? Like we got Abby leaving, Buck dealing with it and Maddie returning in S2, and his recovery/lawsuit arc in S3 with final closure in the whole Abby thing in the finale. But what has happened since then?? Sure we learned about his shitty parents at the start but thst didn't really get a resolution, just some
some vague promises about therapy and then nothing (compare to Eddie's parents where we got that convo with his Dad in S5 and see them in a better place in S6). Then there's the whole sort of dating thing which leads to his relationship with the reporter and continues to drag through S5 and just kind of ends because it has to, not because of any personal development. I guess we can throw the conflict with Chim in S5 which *checks notes* we never see resolved on screen and the cheating business which *checks notes* was never really addressed and mostly cut from 5b since it was so deservedly hated. And now we have S6 and the sperm donor nonsense which, as discussed, has no satisfying ending in sight (someone tell KR that learning a lesson for the 45th time Isn't growth, applying a lesson is). So has Buck has anything completed for 2.5 seasons?? As badly told as it was for parts, even Madney had a conclusion to their conflict. Why is this hard?
Hello friend! I was hoping to get to this yesterday but I wasn’t at home and ended up being out until late. But I am HERE for this salt and had a little chuckle reading this when it came in because you’re SO RIGHT! Season 3 kinda closed things out for Buck and he’s just been spinning his wheels ever since, especially because completely aside from his own stuff, he’s not allowed to be as involved in other character’s storylines either. Someone mentioned awhile ago (probably @outrunningthedark, hey *waves*) that because Buck is the only one without a family of his own outside of Maddie (which JLH seems to be on limited filming duty and that time is being used (ish) for Buckley-Han family stuff), all his “personal” stories are ending up being with random and mostly unimportant side characters. We know (and love) the main, immediate Grant, Wilson, and Diaz families and as recurring characters, it’s exciting when we get to see them! Maddie’s storyline with Doug heavily involved both Chim and Buck, and everything since has been mostly about her and Chim and every once in awhile we get a little bit of the Lee family. Buck’s season 1 storyline was tied with Abby so that made sense and season 2 was tied in with Maddie and Eddie’s, and season 3 gave us a lot of Buck/Bobby stuff on top of his time being mostly wrapped up in the Diaz family, and then closing out with Abby.
I would say that Buck Begins wasn’t so much the start of a new arc as it was informing everything that came before as the audience and Buck reconcile everything we knew before against this new information together. Which was great! But then it didn’t go anywhere. Buck starts the season with talking about how he hides his true feelings from others and doesn’t want to do that anymore and then proceeds to spend the next every episode after that still hiding his feelings from others, only now the audience is included in that. Since the show decided our characters almost never need to have deep and important conversations with each other, we have had basically zero insight into what Buck is *actually* feeling and thinking most of the time. And when he does talk with others it sometimes feels so incongruous with what we know about Buck that we’re left wondering if those conversations are truly what he’s feeling or if he’s masking. Or if it’s yet another instance of KR not understanding the character and writing shit just to write shit. *side eyes every interaction with or about tay kay and L*
“Then there's the whole sort of dating thing which leads to his relationship with the reporter and continues to drag through S5 and just kind of ends because it has to, not because of any personal development.” Catch me getting irritated all over again that we suffered for SO LONG through that whole tay kay mess, and Buck looking miserable and the cast specifically saying that it was on purpose that we were seeing his face looking Like That, only for it to amount to nothing in the end but tay kay being the same awful person she has always been but the show tried to pretend for a hot minute that she wasn’t so KR could wedge her into everything, and Buck being miserable and only stepping away when someone else he loved got hurt, again, by her actions. We didn’t get to see ANYONE in the firefam talk to him about how unhappy he was with her (but thank goodness we had time to lecture him on how he sucks at being a bf at Christmastime instead of anyone saying “dude, are you okay? this all sounds like red flags.” 🙄🙄🙄) or her Buck get to tell her or anyone else that he was unhappy and wasn’t getting the support he needed from the relationship. Which is entirely possible to do without outright calling her a bitch (which actually Eddie and Bobby both deserved to do, though Athena would say it for Bobby because he wouldn’t do it himself, and honestly Chim (and Maddie) and Hen too after the Jonah thing), because we saw it happen with the Eddie/Ana breakup! Eddie got to tell Buck that he was unhappy but didn’t know how to get out, and then he was allowed to go home and make the choice that he was not happy and it wasn’t fair to either of them for him to keep acting like he was. It didn’t outright villainize Ana (though again, tay kay deserved to be villainized at least a little because she was awful and also far more interesting as an awful person the firefam banded together to hate), but the show was just as clear in SHOWING us that no matter what Eddie said at any point in time, she wasn’t good for him OR Chris or what either of them needed. We SAW the same for BT on multiple counts, even when she was “trying” it wasn’t anything that was actually helpful for Buck which she would know if she knew even the slightest thing about him, and even HEARD it in how Buck (bless Oliver) never said “I love you/her” without looking like he smelled something awful and having to stop partway through before forcing the words out. But when it came down to it, we got an amicable breakup after Chim and Hen nearly died, Buck faced an inquiry at work, and the investigation and department were likely deeply compromised because of her lack of ethics.
A Buck/Maddie/Chim conflict arc could have been REALLY good specifically because we KNOW they all love each other, and more than that, they all UNDERSTAND why the others took the actions they did. But it doesn’t mean those actions didn’t hurt! And we got resolution (ish) for Maddie and Chim during Boston (which just kinda got tossed out the next ep with them breaking up and getting back together off screen with very little discussion between them directly or between them and any other characters), and Buck and Maddie did have a good conversation when she got back. But. I haaaaaate that we got nothing about Buck and Chim not really being okay, but making sure they didn’t drag Maddie into it and trying to not let it affect work, but everyone can kinda tell. We could have had some good Buck/Bobby and Chim/Bobby content out of that, and an on-screen resolution of them talking to each other finally and getting back to being brothers who tease each other out of love. Or that after the initial “thank god you’re safe and home and I missed you” wore off, we didn’t get Buck and Maddie talking to others about the little strain still there and how to deal with it because Buck DOES understand and he LOVES his sister but she still left, and his relationship with Chim was fractured when they were both just blindly groping trying to help in the best ways they knew how and not being able to. He missed out on as much time watching Jee grow as Maddie did, and UNDERSTANDING, and knowing it’s not personal or anything to do with you doesn’t make it not hurt. Especially for someone like Buck who feels so deeply and was/is constantly punished for having emotions by people like his parents and his gf so he tries SO HARD to not tell anyone when he’s hurting because he doesn’t think he deserves to, and god forbid someone think he’s making something about himself. Like, this could have been some good drama because like the lawsuit, no one is the villain, no one is fully in the right or fully in the wrong, and no one is to blame it’s just a shitty situation that wasn’t handled perfectly by anyone because they’re all just human and make mistakes. Add Eddie having a breakdown in the background of all of this that Buck feels coming but isn’t prepared for because he’s trying to handle everything and manage his gf, and of COURSE Eddie would talk to him, wouldn’t he? Only to get slapped with Eddie quitting and then Maddie and Chim coming back, and everything at work being out of sync like....the POTENTIAL for a firefam focused season that was deliciously dramatic while being grounded and real and emotionally cathartic was RIGHT THERE and I can’t believe the show was like, “instead of dealing with all this stuff we ourselves put in motion, how about we focus on some random side characters, tell you in interviews that stuff got resolved because I don’t want to think about it anymore, and sprinkle in an OC and some cheating while sidelining the characters this show is supposed to be about and that we keep promoting in the synopsis to trick people into watching but it’s only going to be 2 minutes crammed into the end of an episode because I’d rather spend 10 minutes showing you the set up for an emergency”. ANYWAY.
“someone tell KR that learning a lesson for the 45th time Isn't growth, applying a lesson is” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He’s been going in circles since s4 started but he’s not GETTING anywhere, even when he actually gets to talk to someone about something, it either never gets mentioned again after the episode (the couch stuff with Eddie/Bobby, the happiness talk with Hen), or like the talk with Hen about being a donor, it happens and then gets treated as a joke and he doesn’t think about a single thing she said until, apparently, if the interviews still ring true and they don’t go a different direction (please GOD go a different direction and wrap this TF up!), it’s too late and there is already a baby he helped make on the way. I’m actually not going to talk about that arc because this is already so long, and also I can’t think too hard about it without being filled with incandescent fury. NGL I laughed at the Instagram post about Buck needing to not be in danger, and all the comments about how it’s actually better for the plot when he is, and how the show needs new writers so he can have good scenes again. Fingers crossed after all the criticism across the board OG received (not about arcs like s5 which can be brushed off as fans just being difficult or not liking an arc but it’s over now so why change anything/blamed on fandom for being hateful because they hate women (🙄🙄🙄), but “boring” isn’t something this show shouldn’t ever be and THAT might draw some attention), Timmy can find it in his schedule to let LS’s co-showrunner do their job for a minute and check in on his OG show. Knowing that Brad is back even though he’s never done a mid-season premier episode (and the flack the show got for not having him do the s6 opening and how awful and boring it was) does give me a little sliver of hope but we’ll see.
Thanks for giving me some delicious salt to work with, I was clearly able to make a whole meal out of it! Next week gives us LS though so hopefully we’ll have some fun to talk about soon! Cheers friend and I hope you enjoy the winding rabbit trail of a salt mine I made here. 🤣

It's crazy that people still uphold show!Sansa as a well-written character and pretend that liking her is the pinnacle of feminism when it would be infinitely more impactful to acknowledge her terrible and misogynistic writing. This is the same character who, while written by two men, was thankful for the abuse she suffered because it allowed her to grow. The same character who we had to be told was smart because the writers were too lazy to develop or show her intelligence. The same character who had to rely heavily on the men surrounding her and ended up accomplishing nothing on her own merit ( and no, thinking that she deserved to be Queen doesn't mean that she earned it). She is not well-written, she is not complex, and she is not a feminist character. Which is fine! If you enjoy her then good on you, but please stop pretending that she's something she isn't just because you feel the need to justify liking her character
#anti got#anti d&d#anti show sansa#anti sansa stans#like literally one of the worst written characters on that show because they tried so hard to make her the most important#while being entirely incompetent and their only method of doing so was to steal from other characters which ruined the plot#the only arguable achievement was defeating LF but even then it's written in the script that she had to go to Bran to explain things#/she rallied the Vale army!/ no she didn't 😭 she wrote a letter to LF and he did everything. instead of showing her arc in the Vale and#her learning about politics to rally them herself they took the quickest route to give her a /badass/ savior scene#which only ended up making her look selfish + power-hungry for putting her brothers' lives at risk for not telling anybody about said lette#and idiotic in the aftermath after relying once again on LF even though he was very obviously manipulating her#/pawn to player/ sounds catchy on paper but without seeing that growth/development it doesn't work#Arya was terribly written but at least we /saw/ her training in a way we never did with Sansa#and people try to apply this same logic to the books and think she's gonna suddenly spring forth as a political mastermind#when that's not how George writes...we see characters develop and make mistakes on page and get actual earned growth#feminism isn't defending the writing of two men who gave her a rape plot not in the books because they thought it was /interesting/#when the only aspect of that plot they adapted was a woman suffering abuse :/#and as per usual with stansas their only /evidence/ of her being well-written is accusing you of being misogynistic if you don't like her

I need a completely rewritten teen wolf series with Derek Hale as the main character. I think it would heal me.
#we follow Derek from New York. Laura left for beacon hills. it’s been six years since he was back but he hasn’t heard from her#and hes going stir crazy waiting. he packs up and travels back. it’s almost too much immediately. he still can’t get a hold of Laura#he can’t resist going home. it’s like a natural pull that guides him back. all at once he’s 16 again. staring at the wreckage of his life#deputy stilinski is sherrif now. it’s reassuring in the slightest that the police force seems to have moved on from how corrupt it was#he catches her scent and it’s putrid. bile catches in his throat. he seeks it out. still in denial to what he knows it means.#when he finds Laura it’s like the world ends all over again. he can’t stand to see her like this. he gives her a proper burial.#the best he can do at least#he visits Peter. he’s not the man Derek remembers- so full of fire and cunning. their relationship may have been strained at times.#often Derek felt more like Eve being swayed by the snake than a normal friendship#but this isn’t the sharp tongued uncle who guided him. this is a broken shell. all that remained of his family. he was so lost.#22 but he barely knew how to function without his family- his pack paving the way#Laura handled everything. she got the apartment. she made sure they had food. Derek looks back and feels so useless#he was so lost in his grief. Laura must of felt the same way but she never let them drown in it#she made sure he got his GED. even got him to enroll in community college classes.#he took them online. he never was able to warm up to people the same way. he used to be so full of life. now he just wanted to be left alone#he studied English. never finished his degree. doesn’t look like he ever will now. he can’t go back to Laura and his shared home.#can’t bare to see another shell of a home#he vents to the vacant audience of Peter and his cold fixed eyes#Derek leaves. he wants to promise he’ll return soon#but promises feel costly these days#he decides to go back to the reserve. maybe he can find some clue as to what happened to Laura#someone lured her here. someone who knew them and their history here#his mind went to the worst. Kate. why would she go through the trouble six years later. why wait so long.#Derek couldn’t stomach the thought of facing her. he focused on the woods. the scents were all over the place.#clearly multiple people had been through here recently. two scents were much stronger. Derek follows them#but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here#he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention#he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves.#he comes out once they’re closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods#he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

neither lumpus nor jane want to die alone and that's both such a massive part of the inner workings of their minds to me and yet what it spawns out of them is also exactly the reason why they shouldn't ever be together ❤️ amen
#talk#camp lazlo#scoutmaster lumpus#jane doe#there's like so much room for them to paralell each other like ugh#my Themes...#but like to me it's either going to flames immediately or enabling the worst of them#cus frankly anything else also isn't very interesting to me#and don't get me wrong i love when lumpus is being a fucking idiot over her#but like What is there for jane? NOTHING#she deserves so much better#at least with slinkman he and lumpus have history y'know it's so much different when you're already life partners#but anyway it's funny to me because jane is slinkman's friend FIRST OF ALL and lumpus's Target of Affection SECOND#he's in the middle of them here#but if i had to see jane ''fix'' lumpus i would put my head into my hands and slink into the deep earth#the two of them getting married in canon is only excused and funny due to the fact that lumpus gets arrested literally a few episodes later

swiftie mutuals please know that i still love you i just cant help but be a hater
#my opinions on ts are complex#like i think she's an insanely good and hardworking performer#you cant ignore the amount of work it takes to perform something like her eras shows#AND i think that when she puts her mind to it she can really knock it out of the park with a great song#every album has at least one A+ song#like genuinely i think anti-hero was her best ever lyrically#and she's at her best when she leans into the sappy over the top vibe like w love story or ybwm#my main problem with her is ofc her excessive private jet use#i understand that shes too famous to fly commercial bc she'd get mobbed#but when travelling within a single country she could at least be using road travel#anyway#wrt her music my main issue is that a good 80% of it is very... bland#she doesn't really do anything new or push any boundaries artistically#just plays it safe#and her lyrics can be genuinely awful when she takes herself too seriously (1830s but without all the racists)#and that sucks bc when she DOES decide to explore a new concept or play a character#she generally makes something interesting and fun!#blank space was fun bc it was a play into the media's constructed narrative about her#reputation was. a choice. but i'll defend it for being something different and actually taking a risk#this is a long ass tags ramble but i guess my point is#shes a pop singer. shes a pop singer who makes catchy pop music and thats okay#but she has a habit of taking herself too seriously and trying to be a deep meaningful 'poet' type songwriter like phoebe bridgers etc#which is just. not at all what she's good at#her music needs an ounce of self awareness to be good but her new album completely lacks that#sigh#dont ever get a diploma in music theory worst mistake of my life

[through gritted teeth] i am so normal about this
#no no no it's just like....#the difference between just these two instances from s1 to s3 is FASCINATING to me#he's not asking in the first he's just stating a fact and he's having his belief confirmed#(by a man who's now almost definitely going to be in jail for the rest of his life -#the less extreme of the worst case options jane's had in his head but still nothing to scoff at) he's told with passion and conviction that#the revenge was worth the cost; that he doesn't regret it in the slightest; that it was 'redemptive')#and that's exactly what jane thinks that's what he's built his life around for the past - at least 5? - years#but he IS asking in the second; it's years after the first and he's not the same man he was then#he does still believe in vengeful justice i think but it's not just him that he has in mind now#there's other people to consider - people that found their way into his head and his heart (despite any of his efforts to the contrary)#and he's asking this question to a man who's just been cleared of all charges (were they murder charges? idk i need to watch that ep again)#it's not just him he's thinking of now and it's not just the most concrete costs either#it's....idk it's a shift from the objective costs to the emotional costs; it's the shift from being told to asking i'm just obsessed#(also interesting that these are both men when the only time i can think of off the top of my head where he has this kind of interaction#with a woman is the s1 country club episode? the one with liz forbes? where she breaks down and says it doesn't change a thing#that's a completely new tilt to it too that's something to consider all of this actually has no point but where else am i gonna say it)#tm

Nope, I'm still crying
#i wish literally anybody from school remembered me#literally only 2 people i was friends with hace talked to me in the past four years#i had the realization tonight that i was never given the choice to nurture most of my friendships#everytime i tried outside of school hours including trying to join clubs my mom would make me leave halfway through then lecture me#that she didn't have time to drive to town and get me#but as soon as my brother wanted to join junior air force she suddenly had all the time and energy in the world to devote to that#so what I'm getting here is that my friendships and interests weren't important enough or worth her time#i wasn't interested in Junior air force 1 cause it wasn't offered to me and 2 I'm not a boit licker#no#i was interested in the video game and board game clubs cause my friends were in them and they WANTED me to join#but after not getting to stay for more than one full session after a month i left the board game club cause it wasn't fair to the others#and i only went to the video game clu once and i don't remember much of it cause i was too anxious that she was gonna flip on me#i kept waiting for her text but instead she showed up at the classroom and made me leave#so when the same teacher that ran the board game club asked if i wanted to join the chess club cause he knew i liked chess#i told him i couldn't cause i was too busy because i didn't want to deal with begging my mom to let me join#she would have said yes but would have continued not letting me stay and being super passive aggressive#I'm not even in the year book for the year my friends graduated#the one thing she did let me do was drama and i hated every second of it. it was genuinely a bad experience for me#yeah i had friends in drama but it's not the same as hanging with my nerdy guy friends playing a star wars ttrpg#the worst part is she gets so defensive when i bring it up and won't give me a reason outside of 'I guess I'm just the worst parent'#it's in those moments i really remember she's the youngest in her family#OH!! it gets worse! she told me when i was younger that she had to be an honorary cheer leader cause HER MOM absolutely refused to#let her join cheer and she's alsways been bitter about it but then she turns around and did basically the same thing to me ffs#at least she was allowed to hang out with people after-school i wasn't allowed to do that either#no. instead i spent the hours after shcool alone most days and my weekends home alone in my room. and she wonders why my social skills are#maybe if I'd been allowed to work on my relationships outside of a classroom i wouldn't have felt so abandoned when everyone i knew#graduated without me. maybe if i didn't have to start back at square one socially again and had people to text and hang with after class#i wouldn't have dropped out. and i think only atlas knows i dropped out. idk how to text these people without spunding like I'm looking for#sympathy when they ask what I'm up to. like yeah I'm stuck at home with an anxiety disorder and unemployed trying to get on disability#prisma vents

Posted this when the banner was announced.
In over 250 pulls using freemogems and birthday money I got:
a) yoimiya (the one I actually wanted)
b) aquila favonia (yay for kaeya)
c) tighnari c1 (love him)
d) raiden c1 (first five star she deserves it)
e) two kiraras (somehow)
f) mika (phys kaeya being realised)
g) countless bennetts and saras
Wanna know who I didn't get?
FUCKING CHEVREUSE
#its honestly amusing at this point i guess im cursed to never have her#but im thrilled with all my pulls though got really lucky outside of that#technically ive now spent money on the gacha system but not sure it counts when it was a gift card you got four years ago#that has $20 left on it and will expire next month. like wtf else was i going to do with it#anyway. chevreuse i am so mad but at least i have a firework girl and a beefier raiden#also i get why cons make meta players do so much more damage. i activated the con and raiden just instantly started hitting like 15k more#honestly i think ill go for her c2 next time it comes around and make her my most invested five star#funny how i really dont like how she was written and shes basically a different character in my mind#but shes one of my favourites anyway. i remember seeing the trailer live on the stream and just being in shock#like cmon. her charged attack? gorgeous? and its the only time theyve made a female playable do anything halfway bad#so if you ignore the worst written sq in the game shes really interesting#anyway how did this turn into a raiden thread when i did 250 PULLS AND NO CHEVREUSE
