I just wanna thank Great for letting me continue to do what I love, which is acting. And I just wanna thank him because, you know, he helped me get through a moment in my life that I felt was…lost. And that he was sort of like the way out of that and I could actually focus on something, I could do something that I’m passionate about. And it’s because of him that I can you know move on with my life and I can move forward and I can learn and I just felt like I needed that. finally got around to watching nope (2022) and there's Something brewing inside my brain about the like. violence inherent in needing to be seen to matter, the resulting constant commodification of pain everyone engages in, the scene where steven yeun gushes about the snl sketch based on the most traumatizing thing that ever happened to him, and the hard cut to his terrified face as a child as it happened, and then back to his gushing, the scene where emerald talks about how she felt abandoned and left out when her father reneged on his promise about "her" horse and how she watched him and her brother train the horse and her father wouldn't even look at her, and you can tell that hurt her more than the broken promise because her sadness didn't matter if it wasn't seen, and how the mouth of the final monster design resembled an analogue camera, just mindlessly consuming everything in its path... but it's pretty difficult to put like, any of that into words when most of my thought processes are still dedicated to the fact that keke palmer is one of theee most beautiful women alive.
