I think my biggest problem with Xavier's vision of Krakoa (Watsonian critique, not Doylistic), is that he seems to think that just because permanent death isn't a thing anymore, then everything's safe and fine.

I'm not saying Xavier shouldn't have invited ex-villains onto the island, but it's obvious very quickly that there are no safeguards or protections for any of these villains' former victims. Or any future victims.

So we get some awful scenes like Jamie Braddock taunting Meggan or Mr. Sinister telling Scott that he's prettier when he smiles (that one in the middle of the fucking COUNCIL meeting) and there's apparently nothing that can be done about that?

The Shadow King gets to hang around children, leading to the death of Gabby Kinney (and in her case there was some question about whether or not they'd resurrect her because she was a clone.) Sinister, we're told in Hellions, still has an ORPHANAGE. There weren't kids there, at least, but still. The fuck?

And then there's Madelyne Pryor. And yes, I agree that, back in the 80s, she was screwed by the narrative. But she's done a lot of things since then. Maybe. I admit, I can't really keep track of whether or not the one who tortured Scott and company in the 00s was actually THIS Madelyne or another dimension's. But THIS version is introduced torturing people.

Alex pushes for her resurrection. And any counter argument is immediately neutralized by pointing out that Sinister is on the Council. And...well, yeah. But it's POSSIBLE that some of Madelyne's victims might not have been on board with her running free, but that's not a thing we get to hear. (We are told that Jean supported her resurrection much later. Which I do believe, but I also think the narrative doesn't really allow any other possibility.)

Xavier's very self-congratulatory about the no prisons on Krakoa thing. Of course, there's the Pit. You go in there if you're recalcitrant and break the rules. Even if you're a child. And then you get tortured by Sabretooth because no one bothers to check in on the prisoners, apparently.

To break immersion, in a Doylistic sense, I really enjoy that Krakoa has its darker sides. This isn't a paradise for every character, and it's no surprise, when you think about it that the Summer House is on the Moon instead of Krakoa proper.

But in a Watsonian sense... Any fan of the Wolverines can verify that you don't need permanent physical harm to have a massive amount of trauma and pain.

It makes sense. Charles has that King Arthur fantasy, and part of that involves seating some of his strongest enemies at the Round Table. And it makes sense that the man whose first X-Man was an abused child that he rescued and made into his field commander doesn't necessarily have an awareness or appreciation of long term trauma.

But somehow Cassandra Nova gets to be resurrected in a safely isolated place, away from any and all possible victims. Funny how that wasn't an option for anyone else.

A group of Democratic senators introduced a bill Thursday that would radically change the makeup of the Supreme Court, amid ongoing concerns over court ethics and its increasingly conservative makeup.

The legislation would appoint a new Supreme Court justice every two years, with that justice hearing every case for 18 years before stepping back from the bench and only hearing a “small number of constitutionally required cases.”

“The Supreme Court is facing a crisis of legitimacy that is exacerbated by radical decisions at odds with established legal precedent, ethical lapses of sitting justices, and politicization of the confirmation process,” Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said in a statement.

“This crisis has eroded faith and confidence in our nation’s highest court. Fundamental reform is necessary to address this crisis and restore trust in the institution.”

Only the nine most recently appointed justices would hear appellate cases, which make up a bulk of the court’s work. All living justices would participate in a smaller subset of cases under the court’s “original jurisdiction,” such as disputes between states or with foreign officials.

The bill was introduced by Sens. Booker, Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), and it was co-sponsored by Sens. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii).

Calls for Supreme Court reform grew louder this year after ProPublica revealed that Justice Clarence Thomas received hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of perks from conservative political donors. Further investigations have uncovered multiple significant and undisclosed gifts from politically connected friends over his time as a federal judge.

Justice Samuel Alito also took a luxury vacation paid for by an influential conservative donor while in the judiciary, another investigation found earlier this year.

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced a bill earlier this year along party lines that would require the Supreme Court to create and abide by a code of ethics. Unlike lower courts, Supreme Court judges are not beholden to an official ethics code.

“An organized scheme by right-wing special interests to capture and control the Supreme Court, aided by gobs of billionaire dark money flowing through the confirmation process and judicial lobbying, has resulted in an unaccountable Court out of step with the American people,” Whitehouse said in a statement.

“Term limits and biennial appointments would make the Court more representative of the public and lower the stakes of each justice’s appointment, while preserving constitutional protections for judicial independence.

“As Congress considers multiple options to restore the integrity of this scandal-plagued Court, our term limits bill should be front and center as a potential solution,” he added.

Attempts to reform the Supreme Court have been denounced by both Republicans in Congress and by some members of the court, namely Thomas and Alito.

Alito argued earlier this year that Congress does not have the authority to force any reform on the court without a constitutional amendment.

“I know this is a controversial view, but I’m willing to say it,” Alito told The Wall Street Journal. “No provision in the Constitution gives them the authority to regulate the Supreme Court — period.”

Trait that I love from Alex is that how good a first son of the us he is and how genuinely and passionately he's interested in politics. He didn't think his duty to his country or his position is a burden, he proactively want to participate and to contribute whatever he could, and it's so refreshing to see that his portrayal wasn't just some ungrateful delinquent who came to power and butchered all the opportunity because he's just too occupied with his own things, honestly surprised that he literally could be role model in this character that's not all focus about his love interest with Henry alone.

I love in this scene how he quickly agreed to Zahra's suggestion to host a correspondents' dinner even though Zahra just said it as sarcasm but not for Alex, every opportunity is a good opportunity for him.

How thoughtful he's with spending tax payer money? On useless stuff?

Or when he was so desperately want to help with his mother's campaign and be taken seriously going as far as writing a 14 pages memo no one asked for because he has the vision about the future of his own generation and he want someone to implemented it. Henry was right to be jealous at Alex being so active in making a different in his own capacity while Henry was stuck with cutting ribbons and smiling and looking more like puppets than anything else.

Alex also studied the opposition party and see what they have to tell, I love all the subtle way they showed that Alex's life is politics and even when he was thinking about Henry not replying to his chat, he's doing it while observing their rival, this is like building up pathways in the future if they ever want to go to a sequel it won't be surprising that the challenge in their relationship could be about Alex and his dream. Could be foreshadowing of what Henry said about trading one prison to another, even though I know that Alex will do everything in his capacity to protect Henry and their relationship from all of this. They could always have both lives as long as they support and have each other's back. Love and live in their own terms.

Last note because tumblr could only hold 10 gifs, I love how Alex didn't even think about using his privilege not until Nora suggested about it to him. Just from this conversation with Nora, his comment on the wedding cake at Phillip's wedding, or his Turkey tradition opinion, it's all good indication that Alex didn't use facilities or spending money recklessly. He's thinking of everything so carefully so he didn't accidentally spending money that's not his own, a really honest man and I adore that part of him so much.

There are so many other clips where Alex just being shown as this driven young man who takes his life seriously, I love all the montages during his campaign in texas, how he helped with the community, learning his speeches on the mirror, giving speeches so eloquently.

I know it's only in fantasy that someone could be this responsible when they're in position of power, but I just can't stop thinking how rich this character is actually, he is his own person even without Henry, and that's why his love story with Henry as a prince becomes even more compelling to watch, because we could buy his character as a president son, with his own drive and dream that just happened to be in love with a prince.

I just really love Alex Claremont-Diaz and I want to see more of him. I mean what's not to like about him? He is handsome, super smart, a thorough gentleman, basically the embodiment of a knight in shining armor that's really suitable to save Henry from his lonely castle and showed him a whole new world. They are a match, and that's why Henry x Alex is more realistic couple than any other "fall in love with a royal" story to me because there's no power imbalance between them, not only Alex's deserved Henry, Henry seems like the luckier one to have Alex in his life.

BUT what we don’t talk about is that Andrew went to college FOR Aaron to become a doctor, which means Aaron’s wishes were why Andrew eventually came to pick up his two strays. Neil gets caught by his father’s people because he stays at Palmetto with Andrew’s promise. Stuart and his men kill Nathan and his people saving Neil. Butterfly effect - Aaron also got *all* of those people killed. Banshee. Rant over lol.

Cryptid, Renee is our lovely Not Deer. Not Deer are said to appear like normal deer until you get a little closer, and look a little harder. They move differently, limbs appearing to be double jointed, and their faces and antlers contorted - which I think is a great way to allude to Renee’s inner demons that she’s working to grow past. Not Deer are also said to be entirely unafraid of humans, often approaching them when they’re alone and in the dark. This harkens to her relationship she cultivated with Andrew. She may appear normal at first, but upon further inspection, she may have more in common with the monsters than most.

Neil Josten

Cryptid, obviously. I’d like to give him Fresno Nightcrawler. He gives off their strange little man vibes, and no one can quite decide who he is or what they are. (Aliens? A pair of pants blowing on a loose clothes line? A new species of armless primate? It’s giving Alex? Stefan? Chris?) They’ve also been sighted all over the world, often running away from people. (Fresno, Yosemite, Poland.) And for these reasons, Neil Josten is being assigned as a creepy lil’ dude.

The Golden Age of Japanese Talent in Western Motorsports

So, the heavy rumor at this point in F1 is that Sergio Perez's position at Red Bull has become untenable. An expensive release clause and a lack of a clear alternative has protected Perez for awhile now, but a truly dismal end to the 2024 season has meant Red Bull is willing to pay the price to get rid of him.

Not unlike McLaren with Daniel Ricciardo in 2022.

So, who is getting the nod to Red Bull?

Liam Lawson, it seems. This has pissed off a lot of fans, who feel that Yuki Tsunoda has performed well enough and has spent enough time at Alpha Tauri/VCARB to earn a chance at Red Bull.

Red Bull feels otherwise, and it seems to be because Yuki Tsunoda is at RB as a favor to engine supplier Honda, and Red Bull does not see Tsunoda continuing with them once they switch to Ford.

This got me thinking about Japanese drivers in motorsports, western motorsports in particular. I know that sounds just a bit orientalist and I apologize for that, but a variety of cultural, linguistic, and geographic factors have created a lot of barriers for Japanese drivers to come over here.

Japanese talent instead seems to focus on domestic competitions: Super Formula, Super GT, the Suzuka 8 Hour, etc, etc.

Meanwhile, Japanese talent in the west is most often associated with a Japanese manufacturer. This is what I want to talk about today.

An early prominent example of this is Satoru Nakajima, who Honda tried to put in a Williams in 1986. Frank Williams refused, reasoning that Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell was a much stronger lineup. Thus, Honda went to their other customer team in Lotus, and Nakajima was put into the car in 1987, partnering Ayrton Senna.

Ayrton won two races and finished third in the standings.

Satoru...did not. His best result was a fourth place.

Nevertheless, Satoru continued with Lotus in 1988, now alongside Nelson Piquet. Now, nobody was touching McLaren that year and Lotus slipped to fourth in the constructors' championship, but Nakajima was actually closer to Piquet than he was to Senna. Granted, he only scored one point, but in terms of pace and performance, he was a lot closer.

Satoru Nakajima - nor Aguri Suzuki, who also appeared in F1 around this time - didn't accomplish much, but they did pave the way for the 1990s, which would turn out to be a golden age for Japanese drivers in western motorsports.

On the Formula One side of things, we had Nakajima, Suzuki, Naoki Hattori, Ukyo Katayama, Toshio Suzuki (no relation), Hideki Noda, Taki Inoue, Shinji Nakano, and Toranosuke Takagi all made appearances.

A number of these guys, most prominently Shinji Nakano and Tora Takagi, would also make appearances in CART, where Honda and Toyota were engine suppliers.

The racing series where Japanese talent shined brightest, however, was Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing, now known as MotoGP. Here, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki made sure that Japanese manufacturers were well represented, and the 1997 season is probably the best example of that.

Australian Mick Doohan was dominant, yes, but behind him...the Japanese were all over the series. Teammate Tadayuki Okada won the Indonesian Grand Prix and finished second in the championship, whilst Takuma Aoki on a Repsol Honda entered NSR500V - a cheaper V2 variant of the V4 NSR500, meant for customer teams - finished fifth with three podiums.

Takuma's brother, Nobuatsu Aoki was third on another V4 Honda, taking four podiums and managing to just barely finish ahead of Repsol's Alex Crivillé, who was hampered by a midseason injury.

It wasn't limited to just Honda either, as Yamaha had the famous Norifumi Abe, who won three races himself - the 1996 Japanese GP at Suzuki, the 1999 Rio de Janeiro GP at Jacarepaguá, and then the 2000 Japanese GP, also at Suzuka - but was more known for wild and aggressive performances.

Norifumi was so famous at this point that a young Valentino Rossi used Rossifumi as his first nickname.

Before there was the Doctor, there was Rossifumi.

So yeah, in 1997, there were four Japanese riders in the top ten of the championship, and while none of them could quite match Mick Doohan, neither could anyone else back then.

So, what happened to all this?

That's the difficult question really. My first thought was that maybe it was the switch from 500cc bikes to the 990cc bikes of the MotoGP era. Perhaps the increased cost and professionalization of the grid reduced the number of Japanese riders.

The problem is that it doesn't quite hold true. Daijiro Kato in 2002 was shaping up to be the best Japanese prospect perhaps ever, before his career was cut short by a tragic death at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix.

Did that death kill the Japanese stomach for motorcycle racing? I mean, maybe, but it sure didn't in the moment.

Abe was still around, as were Tohru Ukawa and Noriyuki Haga, while Shinya Nakano spent the mid-2000s dragging his Kawasaki into contention whenever he could, and Makoto Tamada won at Rio and Motegi in 2004 on the Camel Honda, giving us the first multi-win season for a Japanese rider.

It more just seemed to fade out over the course of the 2000s.

By the 2010s, Japanese participation in MotoGP was reduced to one satellite Honda rider and then maybe a wildcard ride or two from the Yamaha or Suzuki test teams at Motegi.

By the 2020s, that rider was Taka Nakagami, but for 2025, that seems to be changing.

The Idemitsu LCR Honda - the Honda reserved for Asian talent - will go to Thai rider Somkiat Chantra. Surprisingly though, this does not mean the end to a Japanese rider on the grid, as Ai Ogura has been signed by Trackhouse to ride an Aprilia.

This is a big deal, because it marks the first time in twenty years that a Japanese rider was picked entirely on merit, having denied a chance to go to LCR Honda to stay in Moto2 and prove himself.

And prove himself he did, because Ai Ogura won three races and the Moto2 championship in 2024. These wins were at Catalunya, Assen, and Misano too, so these are classic European venues.

He's not just a Suzuka/Motegi specialist, he might just be the real deal.

Words about Sarah Reid!

Sarah Reid has always been a very interesting side character to me. She's not on screen for very long but if you pay attention, you can see and understand small things about her. For example, she was quick to stand up to Alex after he started yelling at Tim, she tends to forget her lines easily, and when you look at her up close she definitely looks like she enjoys some color. It might just be me but I think she deserves more characterization in the community and I am aiming to explain my small characterization of her in this post. More below the cut and be aware of spoilers for Marble Hornets in some parts! This is primarily my view of her as a character rather than as canon information.

Reference/Design

Personality

Sarah is a very outgoing woman. She's very determined to have equality, fair opportunity, and she believes in doing the right thing. She can be stubborn with her beliefs and she can be a little forgetful when it comes to small details, but she really tries to be better. She also tries to have other people be better by pointing out when they need to be and she's not quiet about it. Sarah is very loud about her advocacy and her opinions but only because she's educated in them and she knows a lot. She often chooses peaceful ways out but she won't be quiet if she doesn't want to!

Work + Hobbies

Sarah likes to run. She's always been on the track and field team throughout high school and she's definitely not stopped just because of college! She often makes income by pet-sitting. She offers weeks of pet-sitting for vacations, daily, or even just for a few hours. She also babysits and offers multiple-day sittings. Since she lives with her mom off campus, she's able to afford her own living essentials with that money and the money she gets from working on set with Alex.

How she got on set and her experiences

Sarah has always been interested in acting and theatre, it was just never a career she thought she could pursue. When Seth suggested she try out, she did and got a semi-main part in Alex Kralie's Marble Hornets. Even if it was merely a student film, it was still an opportunity and she took it fairly quickly. At first, it was great. She liked the crew, she liked Alex, and the story was very easy to follow. Soon, however, she'd begin to feel ill and unwilling to go to set. It wasn't because she grew bored or that she disliked it, it was that being there always ended with a fight or someone nearly throwing up. The set was like poison and soon, Alex made things worse with his very inconsistant moods.

Relationships

Her relationships with each of the crew members vary. Seth had been her friend long before the whole thing so they were close and she often confided in him about the issues. She and Brian got along pretty well. They'd often joke around and get along during filming.

Sarah and Jay hardly ever spoke unless it was to talk about the script.

Sarah and Alex were not on the best terms near the end of the whole ordeal and honestly, he was a huge factor in her dwindling mental health and self-image.

Sarah and Tim had a very close relationship. Tim was very protective of her during filming when Alex yelled or got angry. He was not afraid to call Alex out or break some rules to help her out and in return, she usually helped him out as well. They had matching necklaces and the crew joked about them dating.

In the End

The tapes depict Sarah and Seth dying in an abandoned building early on. Alex seems to shoot them and leave them for The Operator, but that is not what became of Sarah in this story. Sarah, wounded and afraid, found her way out. Much like Tim, she regained enough strength to get out of the building and run away. Now, years later, she's living with Jessica and wonders if Tim is okay.

This is my really indepth Shawn hc that is more of just straight up a story at this point

So STRAP IN!

Okay, so during the ten years, at some point Shawn is super duper depressed. He's not going well at all. He's thinking of offing himself, and he has it all planned out. But, he calls his dad first, in hopes that despite their rocky relationship his dad will talk him out of it. But, as soon as his dad picks up the phone...well, you know Henry, he assumes the worst. So Henry is already yelling at him, why are you calling, what do you need now, blah blah blah, so shawn hangs up on him without ever getting a word in edgewise, he never gets to tell him why he called, and now it's just confirmed to him that he should end it and he's feeling a little spiteful too, so he downs a bottle of painkillers, one of the ones with the candy coating, yknow? He only survives bc he didn't care to lock his apartment door and one of the random girls he's always hooking up with came by to get something she accidentally left there, he doesn't answer but the door isn't locked so she thinks she'll just slip in an get her stuff, but instead she finds shawn and gets him an ambulance. After Shawn gets better, he either manages to charisma his way into convincing the doctors that it wasn't *really* a suicide attempt and gets realesed or does his regular sneaky shit and escapes and dips town so he doesn't have to do any therapy or go to grippy sock jail.

To this day, Henry doesn't know, GUS doesn't know, NO ONE KNOWS, *shawn tells NO ONE*

And he can't take advil anymore, can't stand the candy coating.

Hear me out, him accidentally letting it slip during a big argument with Henry

I'm thinking Shawn says something that alludes to what happened during the argument without out right saying it so Henry gets to be more confused than angry as Shawn realizes what he almost reveals and completely shuts down refisung to elaborate

I'm imaging that scene in modern family where Alex accidentally mentions to her dad that she did stuff she wasn't supposed to as a teen and slowly backs out of the room

The idea of picking something that's supposed to be sweet, that is supposed to go down easier

Because that's kind of the whole point of candy coating, and Advil tastes good as hell, I don't care what anybody says

He chose something that would be sweet and go down easy for his final moments

But it ended up sickly sweet

And it still got stuck in his throat

And it burnt on the way down

He started out tasting good (there's a reason Advils child lock game is so good) but it ended up tasting awful and burning

The burn and pain contrasted with how he thought he would go out

(Maybe even a perfect metaphor for his relationship with his father too....)

The taste is stuck in his mouth forever, a taste he can never forget

As a performance engineer, he is the man who keeps an eye on all the data in a complex world like Formula 1 and leaves no stone unturned to see how to get even more speed out of the RB20. “For example, I can see how the tires behave individually, how high the temperature of the brakes is and how the hybrid systems of the engine behave,” says Hart in the Red Bull hospitality area.

Together with Lambiase, Michael Manning and David Mart, he is part of the regular group of engineers around world champion Verstappen.

“And GP is the one who talks to Max during sessions, so he has to filter all our information and assess what he finds relevant to pass on to Max. And then as a driver he now has an enormous library of experience. Max is ultimately the best sensor. He senses what he is up against and can make it very clear whether he wants to try something different and what exactly. He is very direct and knows what he wants. There is no room for politics or bullshit.”

In order to be able to empathize with Lambiase's work, Hart occasionally takes his position as race engineer, as was the case on Friday during both training sessions in Imola. Hart explains how a weekend is broadly divided.

“First we have to make sure that the car behaves as we expected. Then we look at how we can get more out of the speed over one lap. Where do we lose time in the bends, does Max feel limited somewhere at the beginning or at the end of such a bend? We then look at the longer runs and how we can protect ourselves against possible dangers.”

With the help of his engineer, a driver can adjust the necessary things on his steering wheel, for example when it comes to the brake balance or the differential. As far as Verstappen and Red Bull are concerned, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last year is a good example of this. For Verstappen, that race in Baku was the turning point in the season.

“In those first four races, Checo (teammate Sergio Pérez, ed.) and Max were close together. But in terms of setup and the tools he uses, Max has gone in a completely different direction since that race in Baku. He has twelve so-called switch positions that he can use. He tested many of them in Baku, while normally you use two or three in a weekend. Max learned a lot then, and so did we."

Since that race in Baku, more than a year ago, Verstappen has not won only three races. While the Dutchman himself is almost never completely satisfied with how a race weekend is going, this also appears to apply to his engineers.

“Coincidentally, we were still talking about it together on Thursday evening. We as engineers are a bit like the goalkeepers in football. It's only when we make a big mistake that it becomes noticeable. We have to keep pushing to see if we can improve anything in areas where we are not yet performing optimally. And even if we are faster than the rest in every corner, we are still not satisfied and we look at where we have left something behind. Everything worked great in China, and then in Miami with the same car we didn't have the speed. And then afterwards you can understand so well why that is, here in Imola there is a completely different asphalt, the conditions are different and the tire compounds are also different.”

Given the immense pressure and expectations, Hart considers Verstappen's victory in 2021 in front of his own audience in Zandvoort as his personal highlight. The Englishman started working as Alex Albon's performance engineer in 2020 before being transferred to Verstappen the following year.

“With Alex we mainly looked at how we could close the gap with Max with the same material. With Max you look less at the other side of the garage. His experience, not only in Formula 1 but also with other cars, helps us. Actually, after a racing weekend I am also a kind of translator. In the debrief Max tells us what his limitations were. Drivers speak their own language. We then look at his words with the people in the factory in combination with the collected data.”

25 June: IATSE and studios reach tentative agreement

"With more than a month to go before IATSE‘s current contracts expires, the union and the studios have come to a tentative agreement on a new deal.

As fears of another Hot Labor Summer had Hollywood anxious, the successful negotiation news Tuesday evening comes a mere two days into the resumption of talks between the parties this week.

Touting wage gains, AI guardrails, and pension and health plans increases, IATSE leaders just sent out the news to its members of its 13 Locals in Hollywood. As you can see below, with increased penalties for extended workdays, safety concerns and crew well-being played a not insignificant role in the bargaining:

Dear Basic Agreement Sisters, Brothers, and Kin: The Basic Agreement Negotiating Committee has reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. Below are a few of the details about the proposed deal. A complete summary of the tentative agreement will be released in a few days, and in addition to local town hall meetings, a multi-local webinar will take place on Saturday, July 13th at noon PST to review the proposed language in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). To avoid undermining our fellow members in the Area Standards Agreement (ASA) Locals, who remain in negotiations with the AMPTP, we will wait to release full summaries of both tentative agreements simultaneously. Some of the proposed changes in the Basic tentative agreement include: scale rate increases of 7%, 4%, and 3.5% over the three-year term; hourly workers will receive triple time (3x hourly) wage when any workday exceeds 15 elapsed hours, all On Call classifications will now receive double time on the 7th day of the workweek, and additional increases in pay will take effect on non-dramatic productions under the Videotape Supplemental Agreement. The tentative deal includes new protections around Artificial Intelligence, including language that ensures no employee is required to provide AI prompts in any manner that would result in the displacement of any covered employee. These changes in the Basic Agreement are in addition to the tentative agreements reached in the Local Agreement negotiations. For the Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans (MPIPHP), the tentative agreement includes additional payments from employers that would address the $670M funding gap, including new streaming residuals. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) announced a tentative agreement on all issues for the Hollywood Basic Agreement and Videotape Agreement negotiations. The tentative agreement is now pending ratification by the unions’ membership. Members and signatories will have the opportunity to review the agreement in the form of a Detailed Summary 2-3 days following this announcement, as well as a Memorandum of Agreement (M.O.A.) an estimated 2 weeks following this announcement. The parties now look forward to closing negotiations for the Area Standards Agreement.

The Entelodont are hypothesized to be the predecessor to all of the pig-types in the Minecraft universe. The Entelodont are based off the Entelodontidae, which were a real thing in this world! (Wikipedia link)

Not much is known about the Sarolin other than they are a race that evolved underground. They evolved large ears and a disadvantage to seeing in the dark, resorting to echolocation similarly to bats. It is theorized that the Sculk drove them out of the Ancient Cities like a plague, though there is currently nothing to prove this. It has been presumed the Sarolin created the Wardens, while others have theorized the Sarolin have turned into Wardens, or that Wardens evolved separately to protect the Sculk. The Sarolin were thought to be completely extinct prior to the discovery of Kheroc. It is currently unknown how Kheroc has lived for supposedly thousands of years, nor is it clear if the Sarolin have always looked like this or if this is unique to her.

The Eirlin are speculative, as no pig species within the End have formed their own civilizations.

Enderbara are technically from the Habitable End Mod - though we conceptualized lore with @leaf4e for new design, which they textured (As seen below). The Enderbara and Enderwarthogs evolved separately from Endermen taking Pigs to the End and interspecies hybridization eventually resulting in the two.

Enderbara have shells to protect from projectiles and predators, heavy rock-like shelling on their feet to keep them from floating away in the low gravity of the End, and multiple eyes to help them detect predators and see in the darkness of the End.

Enderwarthogs are from AdventureZ.

Boarlins and their many variants - Illagers, Zombie Boarlins, Ravagers, Iron Constructs, etc - come from the Village of Pigs resource pack.

It was previously speculated that there was some sort of cataclysmic event in the Overworld. This cataclysm caused some Pigs to turn into Creepers. In search of trying to solve this event, Boarlins unintentionally created an undead virus - in turn creating Skeletons and Zombies.

Many Boarlins went to the Nether in search for a cure to the virus, unintentionally spreading it there. Their travels brought many resources with them, including various animals and building material in hopes of long-term residence and research. Among these animals, Pigs lasted the longest due to being omnivores. These domesticated pigs evolved into Hoglins over time. These travelers no longer saw the point in returning to the overworld due to both dimensions having the virus and the Nether being deemed the safer of the two, and eventually evolved into Piglins.

This information has now been updated upon further research:

The Blight is a microorganism that comes from the Aether after the Sun Spirit was killed, returning Night to the Aether. It rapidly infects its host and spreads to their offspring, resulting in a sped up evolution process toward violent tendencies. The Blight, however, is weak to Sunlight exposure, and will kill its host when exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods of time.

When the Blight spread throughout the Aether upon the Sun Spirit's death, it was brought into the Overworld - rapidly spreading and evolving. The Blight is ultimately the cause for the evolution of Creepers, as well as: Zombies, Husks, Drowned, Skeletons, Strays, Bogged, Zoglins, Zombified Boarlins, Zombified Piglins, and is partially responsible for the creation of Wither Skeletons.

Whilst the Boarlins in the overworld discovered a temporary cure for the Blight with Golden Apples and Weakness potions, the Piglins were less successful. It is speculated their attempts at curing their Zombified brethren resulted in the Wither Skeletons as the Blight evolved and mutated, and in turn the Wither.
