Cat nap
Peter parker x fem!reader
Summary: after a long mission, you end up falling asleep on the shoulder of a certain spider boy.
Cw: blurb, fluff
A/n: I've been struggling with such bad writers block, so here's a blurb i managed to write. (Sorry if its not the best 😭)

Peter and I groaned in unison as we sat down on the jet. We sat there in complete silence, both our bodies aching after the 2 hour long mission we had just had. As the jet rose off the ground and took off, I felt my eyes grow tired.
"I never wanna stand again." I leaned back against the wall and blew the strand of hair that had fallen on my face away. All I got from peter in response was a weak groan of agreement. He leaned back with a huff, rolling his head to look at me.
"Do you think Mr. Stark will let me nap on his couch?" I turned my head to him.
"If he doesn't I'll put fart spray in his helmet." He gave me a tired chuckle. His loopy smile, tired eyes and messed up hair almost made me forget the aching pain across my whole body. Peter had a talent for making me feel better, or making me forget what there was to feel better about.
We both turn our heads forward, falling into a comfortable silence. The heat radiating from peter onto my arm and the quiet hum of the jet had my eyes feeling heavy. I found myself struggling to keep my head from tilting, slowly falling towards peter. I fought to stay awake, but soon enough my eyes closed and sleep overtook me.
~~~
I let out a surprise gasp as i felt something hit my shoulder. I glanced over, feeling my heart start to race upon seeing a sleeping y/n. Her face was serine, calm breathing and a few strands of hair tickled her cheeks.
I felt my face heat up, turning a light shade of pink. I could hardly believe this was reality, that she was really asleep on my shoulder. My shoulder! The girl of my dreams, my long term crush, was now peacefully sleeping on me. I know she didn't mean to, that it was an accident, but yet that didn't stop the nervous smile creep up on my face.
I did my beat to stay perfectly still, doing my best not to wake her. She shifted her head slightly, causing more hair to fall on her face. Her nose twitched, insinuating the hairs were tickling her. I cautiously moved my hand to move from her face and tuck it behind her ear. She hummed lightly, a sound that made me weirdly happy.
I didn't move a muscle as she continued to nap peacefully on my shoulder. She stayed there for the entire ride home. Bucky and sam took notice of my situation and naturally teased me about it, making jokes and jabs for the other half of the ride.
It pained me when we landed, since that meant i had to wake her up. I contemplated not waking her, staying on the jet till she woke up on her own. But i assumed she'd want to sleep in her comfortable bed rather then my hard shoulder. So I called to her softly and shook my shoulder lightly. I watched as her eyes fluttered open, her gorgeous eyes now revealed.
"Hey there sleeping beauty." I joked softly. She looked ul at me, her eyes still hooded and half asleep. She gave me a tired, loopy smile and sat up.
"Um, sorry for passing out on you." Her cheeks darkened, an embarrassing tint linger on them.
"It's ok, you needed some sleep."
"Well, thanks." We both stared at each other awkwardly, neither of us knowing what to to next.
"Do you wanna watch a movie or something?" She asked, looking away. I nodded and we both stood, walking off to enjoy our night.
Chapter 16 - Boars - Part 2
With the provisions re-packed, Iksthanis distributed a light breakfast of fruit and nuts, with the promise of a better meal once they were beyond the hills.
Then they walked on, keeping a brisk pace.
Despite his assurance that the herd wouldn't follow them, Sev wasn't taking the chance.
Galen still had questions but he kept them to himself.
Meanwhile, Behn listened to the tale of how Sev had killed the boar with disbelief and Triss only believed it because she'd seen it with her own eyes.
None of the others showed surprise.
By midday, they cleared the last of the hills and reached the flat valley plain that lay between them and the edge of the Wild Green.
It would take the rest of the afternoon to cross it but Galen felt his spirits lift as soon as they left the hills behind.
He had not realized how oppressive the place felt until he was free of it.
The others shared his feelings and soon the morning's scare faded to a memory.
Only Obi remained quiet and refused to speak or look anyone in the eye.
"It's 'cause he fell asleep," Triss explained, when Obi dropped back a way to walk alone.
"What's the big deal?" Behn asked.
"People fall asleep on duty all the time."
Triss shook her head.
"He'd be flogged if he were a Guard and during wartime, falling asleep at your post is a capital offence. He endangered all of us."
"Worse... in the eyes of the Order at least... he endangered the mission," Sev said.
He walked on Galen's other side and had said little all morning.
"However," he continued.
"I think it was not entirely his fault. In fact, the fault may be mine."
"How so?" Galen asked.
Sev looked at him sidelong.
"The Order scolded me harshly when they learned I had not taken you to them the moment I saw the pendant you wore. If I were not among the best of their Hands, I could have expected worse punishment. They are not the only ones who want to find the P'Yhra, you see."
Galen swallowed.
"Who else is there?"
"The Orders say they do not know," Sev said and sighed.
"Hands do dangerous work and it's not unusual for one to 'disappear' while on a mission. Over the last several years, though, it's become more common. On my last three missions... including the one on which I first met you... I've been followed by... unseen things."
"Trackers?" Galen asked, remembering what Sev had called them.
He nodded.
"We don't really know what they are. They seem to take many forms, these... phenomena. We only know that they follow us and we take certain precautions to keep them at bay, especially at night. However, they are most prevalent in more wild places and I did not think we needed to worry so soon."
"What's that got to do with Obi and the boars, though?" Behn asked.
Sev glanced at him.
"Oberik and I have traveled together many times. He has never fallen asleep on guard duty before. Likewise, that boar wasn't after food. It wasn't attracted by sound or smell. It was after only one thing."
"Me?" Galen had guessed as much earlier but he still didn't understand.
"But... why?"
"My guess is this... whoever wants to find the P'Yrha wants to keep him out of the Order's hands. And the easiest way to do that is to kill him."
Galen swallowed.
"And what about you?" he asked.
"How are you able to... move like that?" Sev sighed.
"It's a conversation for another time. For now, rest assured we won't let our guard down... literally or figuratively... again."
********
By late afternoon, the thin gray line in the distance resolved itself into a sea of trees.
The border of the Wild Green was surprisingly abrupt, with open grassland on one side and dense forest on the other.
This wall of woods stretched away to north and south as far as they could see.
They set up camp in a slight hollow and despite his obvious weariness after two days of nearly constant walking, Behn insisted on doing his part and prepared the meal.
While the others laid out bedrolls, gathered fuel and washed up in a small stream just beyond the forest's edge, Behn tended his pot.
A little over an hour later, just as the sun dipped below the horizon, he served up heaping bowls of hot rice and beans with fresh fried eggs on top.
"I wasn't planning to use all the eggs at once but it's a miracle they survived this long," he said, wiping sweat from his brow and trying to give Galen more than his fair share.
Only Obi refused to eat.
He'd helped set up camp and gather fuel and water but Galen noticed he had unpacked none of his own things. Instead, as the others received their bowls, he came to kneel before Sev with his head bowed.
"I have failed you, Omalan Sevhalim," he said.
"Forgive me but I am no longer fit to travel at your side."
Sevhalim sighed.
"Enough of that, Oberik. You are an honored friend and your failure, I suspect, is not your fault. However, you are always free to go your own way. You do not owe the Order your life and you do not owe me anything."
Obi looked up and Galen was surprised to see a hard shine in his eyes.
"That isn't true," he said.
Sev looked away.
"In my eyes, it is. I have only ever done my duty, Obi. Nothing more. As have you. Help me and Rea set up the perimeter and know you are forgiven."
Obi lowered his gaze again and nodded.
Later, Galen watched as Sevhalim walked the perimeter with Rea and Obi, engaged in some strange ritual.
Obi had returned to his usual optimistic self and for an instant, Galen saw a mirror of himself and his own friends and felt a kinship with his new companions.
They had histories he did not yet know but for the first time since he'd met them, he looked forward to knowing them better.
Perhaps their goals had started at odds but now their courses converged.
Whatever his fate may be, it lay... for now at least... in Sevhalim's hands.
'He could do worse,' he thought.
Sevhalim was slim and graceful and Galen doubted if even Iksthanis could cut a boar's head off in one stroke and yet Sev's sword had sliced through the beast like a hot knife through butter.
There was clearly more to the man than met the eye.
Sev, Rea and Obi gathered small white stones and arranged them in the shapes of symbols... one in each of the four directions and one at each of the four cross-directions between, encircling the camp.
Then they went a short distance into the forest and came back with long sticks, which they planted in the ground... twelve, in a circle beyond the symbols.
Tying strings to the sticks, they hung little bells and then... Galen was sure, though if he'd blinked he'd have missed it... Sevhalim touched the string and a little blue spark shot along the strand, briefly lighting it.
Satisfied at last, they rejoined the others just as the first stars pierced the darkness overhead and Galen went to sleep with Sevhalim on his left and Behn on his right and feeling... despite everything... completely safe.
The night passed without incident and the following morning, everyone rose refreshed.
After a breakfast of oats with raisins and a little spoonful of honey, they packed up and prepared to press on into the Wild Green.
They stood before the wall of trees, staring at the seemingly impassable tangle of branches and Sev turned to Triss and Behn.
"This is your last chance to turn back," he said.
"You could follow the edge of the Green, back to Dern. Triss, I am sure, knows the say. Once we enter the forest, it will be unwise to part company."
"Where Gale goes, I go," Behn said firmly, tightening the buckles on his pack.
There was not a trace of quaver in his voice and Galen felt a surge of pride for his friend.
One need not be a warrior to be brave.
Triss nodded her agreement.
"Same."
Sevhalim looked between them and nodded.
"So be it," he said and led them on.
FUCKLUST (18 +) - {COLSON BAKER x READER }
Y'all, I got a little carried away on this one. 🙈🥵💦
Warnings: Smut (18+), cursing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FUCKLUST
Intransitive verb: an insatiable sexual desire to fuck the hell out of that one particular special someone you think about all the time.
Colson towered over you, his strong arms pinning your hands over your head. Leaning down, he captured your lips in a heated kiss. You could feel his hard cock against your thigh, making heat pool in your center. You gasped as Colson pushed his body against yours, sliding his bare length between your folds. You could feel his hot breath on yours as a groan escaped his lips.
Colson took your bottom lip between his teeth, biting hard. You wanted to pull him closer, but he kept a firm grip on your arms which were still positioned above your head. You instinctively wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him as close to you as possible.
"I'm going to fuck you so good you won't be able to remember another man has been inside you, you won't ever want another cock." Colson growled, reaching down to position himself. You could feel the head of his cock pressing at your entrance.
A jolt shuddered through you, making you jump. Your eyes shot open as you awoke from your accidental nap. You were immediately met with the familiar pair of baby blues that belonged to your co-star, Colson Baker.
You two had been working on a movie together for the last three months, and you were set to film your very first kissing scene, which you ultimately blamed for the naughty dream, even though you knew deep down it was much more than that. From the moment you stepped on set, the chemistry between you was undeniable, and the sexual tension was consuming. Colson was always making you laugh uncontrollably or making you wish you were underneath him. Unfortunately, you had both decided for the sake of the film that you would keep it professional. The closer it got to wrapping the first film, the harder it was to resist wrapping yourselves around each other.
"Y/n, are you okay?" Colson asked. Your cheeks flushed red, remembering the dream you were just in the middle of. Colson smirked at you once he noticed the rosy tint to your cheeks. "You were dreaming about me, weren't you?" He joked but had no idea how accurate he was.
You quickly tried to regain your composure, ignoring the intense need for his hands on your body. It took everything in you to not jump him right there in the lounge.
"Yeah, actually," You admitted, catching him off guard at your candor.
"Guys, we need you on set." One of the crew members popped their head in the room, interrupting your conversation. You got up from the chair that you had fallen asleep in, stopping in the doorway, you turned back around to face the handsome man.
"Thank you for the sex. It was mind-blowing." You smirked, making Colson's jaw drop. Although your dream hadn't gone quite that far, you knew it would have been amazing.
It sucked. Liking someone you couldn't have. Seeing Colson every day but knowing that he'd never be yours because of your stupid agreement. It was the worst feeling in the world. All you could do was dream about him and the things that he'd do to you. . .
. . . but you couldn't jeopardize the success of the film, your career, you worked so hard to get to where you were. You refused to be like all of the other Hollywood cliches. Two beautiful people playing two beautiful lovers who accidentally fall for each other in real life but eventually go up in flames. Completely ruining the on-screen chemistry in the sequels or worst-case scenario, one of them being re-casted, which you knew would end up being you.
Not long after stepping on set, you found yourself standing in the middle of a faux lingerie store next to Colson, who was helping your character pick out something to wear.
"Let me guess. You like garters and silk stockings?" You delivered your lines perfectly as you thumbed through the garments on the rack in front of you.
"Two for two, although I'd like you in anything you put on… or take off," Colson smirked, handing you a hanger adorned with a very sexy lace bustier set. You glanced towards the dressing rooms, then back at Colson with a scandalous glimmer in your eye.
"Help me try it on? Just to make sure it fits, of course."
"Of course." Colson mimicked you before following you towards the dressing rooms. After quickly switching scenes on set, you resumed filming in the tiny room.
You pushed Colson toward the bench in the dressing room, forcing him to sit. Looking him straight in the eye, you reached for the hem of your clothes, lifting slowly, exposing your bare skin inch by inch. Colson sat in front of you, clenching his fists in his lap, clearly holding himself back from reaching for you as you stepped out of the last of your clothes and into the lingerie.
"Well?" Does it live up to your imagination?" Your character asked as you looked at yourself in the mirror, adjusting the straps on the bustier and garter belt. Colson's body was pressed up against yours in an instant, meeting your gaze in the mirror. He planted a kiss on your neck, sending shivers down your spine as his hands found their way to your hips. You could feel him growing hard against you. In the moment, you almost forget that you were filming, clearing your throat to break the trance.
"I hope you like this one because I'm pretty sure I have to buy these panties now." You blurted. Those weren't your lines; You had no idea where that came from. You could feel Colson grin against the nape of your neck. Your face flushed in embarrassment, but before anyone could notice, Colson spun you around, threading his fingers through your hair pulling you into a fierce kiss.
You knew this wasn't how the scene was supposed to go, but even as you tried to remind yourself to stick to the script, you found yourself pulling him closer. After the last few months of tension and self-restraint, Colson's mouth, hot and insistent on yours, was a relief.
"Tell me to stop, and I will," Colson whispered against your lips.
"Don't." Was the only word you were able to get out before you melted into his arms. Wrapping your body around his. The kiss grew passionate and intense quickly. You both forgot where you were and what you were doing until the director screamed cut, startling both of you.
"That was phenomenal," the director complimented you two on your improv. The rest of the day was spent filming fill-in scenes with your other castmates; in fact, you hadn't seen Colson once since your little rendezvous in the dressing room. This was probably a good thing because, after that heated kiss, you were sure you wouldn't be able to resist.
Once filming had wrapped for the day, you made your way back to the dressing rooms, still replaying the kiss from earlier in your mind. You were so caught up in your thoughts out hadn't even realized that you walked right past your dressing room door, opening your co-workers as your own.
You were startled to find Colson standing in front of you. Freshly showered in nothing but a small white towel. You could see the outline of his cock through the cotton fabric. It was enough to make you salivate. His eyes locked with yours, the look of lust on your face was apparent, and he reciprocated. The desire absorbed you; you knew that resisting him was no longer an option. That no matter how hard you tried, you wouldn't be able to curb the ache you felt for him until it was satisfied.
Before you could make the first move, Colson's lips were on yours. His kiss was hard as his arms wrapped around you, holding you close to him. His passion was contagious and electrifying. Colson pressed his body flush with yours, sucking on your lower lip as he ran his fingers roughly through your hair.
"Stop teasing and touch me," You demanded. With a smirk, Colsons' hands found your backside lifting you up. You wrapped your legs around his back as he pressed you hard into the wall.
"It's about damn time." He breathed. With his free hand, Colson wrapped your hair around his fist, pulling your head back with a slight yank. He took a second, admiring the view before leaning forward to press a soft kiss to your mouth, so lingering that it made your knees week.
"If we're finally going to do this, I want to hear you say it, y/n." Colson said, looking into your eyes, and without hesitation, you spoke.
"Colson, I need you."
You had a moment to catch Colson's groan before he crashed his lips into yours. You moved frantically together, hands roaming each other's bodies and tongues exploring each other's mouths. Your dress was hiked up around your waist as Colson's hands wandered, feeling every inch of your body. His lips moved down your jaw, his hips grinding into yours. The rub of his bulge against the fabric of the lingerie you had taken from set sent a rush of need to your core, causing you to buck your hips into him.
"Do you feel what you do to me y/n?" Colson growled as he grabbed your hand, guiding it down to the space between you both. "What have you done to me every single goddamn night since I've met you?" He asked, rock hard against your palm. Colson let out an agonizingly sexy groan in response to your touch. You rubbed your hand up and down the length of him, straining hard against the fabric of the towel around his hips. You squeezed your hand around him, stroking slowly. Colson's groans quickly turned to grunts, deep and sexy, until his hand abruptly stopped yours.
"Y/n, you're going to make cum before I even get you naked." He admitted with a slight chuckle. With one smooth move Colson hoisted you into his arms, shifting your weight away from the wall. You locked your ankles around his back, and he carried you across the room. His mouth latched to the skin of your neck.
"Are you marking me, Colson Baker?" You asked seductively. Colson growled low in his throat.
"You haven't seen anything yet, princess." He avowed, tossing you on the chaise lounge. His eyes roamed the curves of your body, still covered in the fabric of your sheer dress. You leaned back on the chair, your skirt hiked up enough to show a peek of the panties beneath. Colson groaned as he dropped to one knee on the lounge so he could lean over you. His eyes were electric as he took in your body. Eyes locked with his, you slowly removed your clothes, tugging your dress over your head and letting it fall to the floor. Colson took in the lingerie that he had picked out for you, his eyes traveling hungrily over your body.
"Seeing you laid out like this in the lingerie that I picked out, it's hard not to feel like. . ." Colson trailed off in thought.
"Like you have a claim on me?" You guessed what he was thinking, and Colsons eyes darkened.
"Exactly like that. It's not a feeling I want to let go of." He remarked. "As much as I love it. . . let me see you without it."
You slipped the straps off your shoulders, watching Colsons eyes follow the movement. You slowly removed the lingerie as he watched your every move. Once you were completely naked, you leaned back on your elbows, biting your lip while looking up at him, waiting to see what he'd do. Colson leaned forward, his eyes locked with yours. His hands framing your body on either side of the lounge chair.
"I want to mark every part of your beautiful body," Colson went on, "after all of that teasing and waiting. . . I want you to think of me every time you look in the mirror." He said, running his finger gently down your neck, your chest, over your nipples. "I want you to see the places I've touched you."
"Do it." You begged.
Colson let out a deep, wild growl that sent a shiver down your body. He dipped down, running his tongue over your collarbone, punctuating the movement with a nip to your shoulder. He pressed a line of soft kisses over the line of your shoulder before his mouth slid up to leave another bite mark on your neck. You gasped at the feeling of his teeth sinking into the curve of your neck. Before the pain could register, Colson licked over the same spot, peppering your skin with kisses. You could feel the trail of marks he was leaving on your neck and down your chest. It stung with pleasure and a hint of pain. He slowly made his way down your body, biting the edge of your hip, almost hard enough to draw blood. A moan escaped your mouth, and you instinctively lifted your hips to meet him.
"Colson"
"Fuck y/n, you're better than any fantasy I could ever have." He marveled as he pulled back to look at you, his gaze full of lust and wonder. Colson tugged on your knees, dragging you to the edge of the lounge chair, your bent legs framed his hips. "I can't wait to taste you. Have you thought about that? What it'd be like to have my mouth on you?"
"I may have considered what it'd be like. . . or how good you'd be. . ." You admitted coyly.
"Trust me, I'm not one to disappoint." He promised. "I can't even tell you how long I've been waiting for this. How many dreams I've had with me between your thighs. . ." desire dripping from every word he spoke.
Colson hovered over you, connecting his lips with yours as your fingers moved down his back. He moved his lips down your body - your neck, your collar bone, your breasts - he left a trail of kisses down your stomach, over your hips, until he reached the place where you craved him most. You arched into his touch, wanting to get closer. Colson lifted his head, grinning wide.
"Eager, are we?" He smirked. Before you could even catch your breath, Colson'sColson's tongue was between your folds, licking you slowly. He looked up to meet your eyes, holding down your hips as his mouth found your bundle of nerves. He sucked your clit like a starved man, enjoying each moan and gasp that he pulled from you. Within seconds you were writhing underneath him as his tongue continued making you sing.
"Oh my god," you moaned, your hand finding its way into his hair. Colson slid a single finger inside of you, working perfectly in time with his mouth against your bud. It sent shockwaves down your body. The rush of pleasure pushing you over the edge.
"Fuck Colson!" You moaned.
"That's it, say my name." He coaxed you. Pulling back enough to speak, Colson used his hand to rub your clit in sharp circles, hard enough to drive you crazy. "Cum for me." He ordered, and your orgasm hit you like a wave, the pleasure shaking through you as you finally let go. You fell back onto the chaise lounge, spent.
Colson climbed on top of you, kissing you passionately. His fingers found their way between your thighs, teasing at your entrance before slipping, not one but two fingers inside. You gasped at the sensation. Colson rocked his hand in smooth, firm strokes, making you moan. He curled his fingers to reach the spot inside that makes fireworks explode behind your eyes. He pumped his fingers in and out of you at a faster pace leaving you breathless, hitting that particular spot every time.
You couldn't take it any longer. You ran your nails down his tattooed back, stopping at the only piece of fabric separating his naked body from yours. In one swift motion, you yanked the towel from his hips, making him grin.
"Since the day I met you, all I wanted to do was make you come undone around me," He said, sliding the underside of his cock over your wet center, giving your clit just a hint of the friction that you craved.
Colson pressed his cock over your clit one last time, making you moan before he positioned it against your entrance. He slowly pushed himself inside of you, one pleasurable, tantalizing inch at a time until you were completely full. Visibly restraining himself, Colson stayed still, letting you get used to the size of him. Both of you breathing heavily as you became familiar with the feel of each other. You rocked your hips up, pulling him in deeper. Tipping his head back in pleasure, Colson let out a groan.
"You're going to be the death of me," Colson mumbled before starting to move agonizingly slow, using all of his self-control. He slowly rolled his hips, pressing his pelvis down against your clit, making you moan.
"Do you want me to go faster?" He asked as he slowly pushed himself deep inside of you, brushing against that perfect spot.
"Y-yes," You stammered in between breaths.
"Tell me what you want," Colson demanded. You could see the tension in his shoulders; it was getting difficult for him to hold himself back. His strokes were slow and hard, sending electric sparks through your body - hot, but not enough. He was driving you crazy, and he loved it; you could tell by the smirk he was wearing.
"Want to hear your beg for it." He growled, sliding slowly into you again, stretching you, sending white-hot pleasure through your body. You could swear you saw stars.
"Please fuck me harder," You moaned. It was precisely what he wanted to hear. In a split second, Colson's self-restraint snapped. His hips moving faster, thrusting deep inside you. You let out a moan as you attempted to bring your hips down to meet his, but he set a frenzied pace, so hard that it took your breath away.
You gripped his shoulders, raking your nails down his tattooed back, hard enough to leave a mark. Colson let out a low growl as the knot in your stomach grew taut; you were so close. You closed your eyes, overwhelmed by the sensation.
"Open your eyes. Look at me while you cum on my cock." Colson's nails dug into your hips, and the mixture of pain and pleasure made that knot unravel. Your eyes shot open, meeting those familiar baby blues again.
Colson slammed into you hard and deep, making you scream his name as you fell off the edge, pleasure cascading through your entire body. Colson's lips found their way to yours, swallowing every sound you gave him. The feeling of your release around him causing him to cum even harder, your mouth engulfing his groans. He pulsed inside of you, releasing himself and all the built-up tension from his body until the only thing left between you was heavy breathing.
"Fuck." Colson groaned, lying motionless on top of you for a moment, too fatigued to move. Once he caught his bearings, he rolled off of you, laying on his back next to you. A quiet chuckle escaped his lips.
"What's so funny?" you probed.
"Before you walked in here, I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep myself from accidentally busting while filming our sex scene next week." He answered, still chuckling to himself. His response made you laugh out loud.
"And what makes you think you won't? The sexual tension could easily build back up by then." You challenged him.
"Oh, I have every intention of doing this again" He pointed between you two.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah," He responded, placing a gentle kiss on your cheek, "I thought that your laugh was my favorite. . ." He continued, moving to gently kiss your lips. "but now that I've made you moan. . ." He trailed off, moving down to kiss your neck, sucking just enough to draw a quiet moan from your lips. ". . .I plan on hearing it many times before then" He smirked, and just like that, the insatiable sexual desire to fuck the hell out of Colson Baker returned.
______
During the first couple of weeks of moving in, you’d been partying A LOT. The guys wanted to show you just how mad it got, breaking you into their chaotic household, blending the days together. Everyone was hyper and the house was buzzing with energy. You'd been so exhausted from all of it that you'd been all but passing out each night, but you couldn’t lie, it was great fun.
You’d tried to pass on a few nights but Colson would never hear of it, often forcing you out of your room to get involved as the house was filled with people, jam sessions taking place in between drinking games. It was a far cry from your usual homelife, your last housemate mainly kept to themselves so your place was normally pretty chilled. Colson had used your place as a quiet escape over the years, but it seemed you wouldn’t have the same set up extended to you here with this lot.
With the pandemic unfolding, the house had started getting quieter, less people in and out every night and everyone was settling into a lazier way of life. The gang were mooching around the house throughout the day and while the house was still lively at night, it wasn’t quite the party central you’d almost started getting used to. Your normal working routine went out the window as everyone had started working from home mainly and without your daily routine, followed by nights out partying, your insomnia was back with full force.
______
You were lying in your bed, trying to force sleep on yourself but after trying to nod off for a couple of hours, you accepted defeat and got back up. Throwing some sweats on and one of Colson’s huge hoodies (you’d been slowly sneaking them out of his closet, finding that the masses of material drowning your small frame were super comforting), you headed down to the kitchen, turned the stove on and filled the kettle up. You were scrolling through your phone when you heard footsteps on the tiled floor. Colson strolled into the kitchen looking disheveled in a white tank top and boxer shorts, hair ruffled and looking sleepy
“Dude, it’s 3am how come you’re up?”
“Couldn’t sleep, living that oh so fun insomnia life again” you sighed “Did I wake you?”
“Nah, I was already awake. Couldn’t sleep either and heard someone moving about so thought I’d come down” He replied, climbing onto one of the breakfast stools
“Yeah, I think it’s not having much of a routine. Hate lying in bed staring at the ceiling so just got up. You want a cup?” you offered, pointing to the chamomile tea you were brewing
“Sure, thanks” he says, taking the steaming mug from you
You sit down at the breakfast bar with him and start chatting, scrolling through instagram as you do. After about an hour, as you’re talking about an article you’re reading, you notice Colson doesn’t respond and you look to your right and see he’s fallen asleep, leaning on his hand, his mouth slightly ajar.
“Hey, sleeping beauty” you whisper, rubbing his back with your hand “Go to bed”
Tumblr media
He slightly jolts at your touch, opening his eyes “Nah man, I’m keeping you company”
“Some company” you laugh softly “pretty sure you just slept through all my rambling there”
He leans against your shoulder, closing his eyes again “Hey, at least you’re not sitting here alone. That’s something right?”
“That’s true” you smile, leaning your head against his “You’re very appreciated, do you know that”
You gently push him upright and stand up “Come on, let’s go to bed. I’m pretty tired myself, so you’ve definitely helped”
He’s laid his head down on his arm on the counter, his breathing getting heavy immediately so you pull his other hand making him stand up. He stands up and puts his arm around your shoulder as you walk towards the stairs, your legs feeling heavy as you climb each step, carrying some of Colson’s weight as he sleepily walks with you
Once you’re standing outside your bedroom doors, he pulls you in for a hug
“Night kid, don’t be wandering around bored if you can’t sleep yeah? Just come get me. Nothing worse than sitting up alone at night…”
“Will do. Thanks Col” You squeeze him a bit tighter as he kisses the top of your head
“Night” you smile, as he let’s you go and turns and heads into his room, waving his hand up behind him
Undressing and crawling into bed, your eyes feel heavy as your head hits the pillow. Colson was right, insomnia was a much less lonely experience with a friend.
______
Of course, as is always the way after your sleepless nights, you sleep in super late the following day meaning the cycle continues and you find yourself wide awake as the witching hour approaches. Feeling restless in your bedroom, you get up, and decide to head downstairs and out into the studio because you figure you might as well put this time to good use. You settle into a chair with your acoustic guitar and started playing, stopping and starting as you figure out a melody, working your latest lyrics in with it
“I wanna start this out and say, I gotta get it off my chest. Got no anger, got no malice…”
“I thought I told you to come get me if you couldn’t sleep”
You almost drop your guitar as you hear Colson’s voice behind you, “Jesus, how are you such an enormous human but you still manage to creep up on me all the time?”
“Just a stealthy motherfucker I guess” He laughs, flopping into the chair next to you
“Whatcha working on? That sounded sweet, keep playing…”
Colson knows you sometimes get a bit self-conscious with people watching you sing, so he lights his joint, rests his head on his hand and closes his eyes. You smile as you see what he's doing, thankful he always understands what you're like.
Tumblr media
You turn back to your notepad, reading over your lyric outline quickly before repositioning the guitar in your lap and resetting the metronome
___
‘I wanna start this out and say, I gotta get it off my chest
Got no anger, got no malice, Just a little bit of regret
No, nobody else will tell you, so there's some things I gotta say
Gonna jot it down and then get it out and then I'll be on my way
No, you're not half the man you think that you are
And you can't fill the hole inside of you with money, drugs, and cars
I'm so glad I never ever had a baby with you
'Cause you can't love nothing unless there's something in it for you
Oh, I feel so sorry, I feel so sad
I tried to help you, it just made you mad
And I had no warning about who you are
I'm just glad I made it out without breaking down
And then ran so fuckin' far, that you would never ever touch me again
Won't see your alligator tears
'Cause, no, I've had enough of them’
___
“Man, that was beautiful Y/N. I got some chills right there…You just wrote that?”
“Nah, it’s something I dug up from ‘back then’. Been going through some old lyrics and samples while we’ve got all this time on our hands. It’s kinda cathartic to go over some of that stuff now there’s a bit more distance you know”
______
A couple of years ago, you’d been stuck in a really toxic relationship with your ex, Stevie. Your time with him had been a tornado of arguments, drugs and the constant heartache of him cheating on you. Every time you’d get close to having the strength to leave, you’d always cave in and the mess would continue with you losing a bit of yourself each time you stayed. You’d become pretty used to his violent outbursts, he had always been controlling and short tempered, often pushing you and throwing stuff around your apartment. Despite his own frequent infidelity, he flew into a jealous rage with you constantly.
He’d always hated Colson, despite him being one of your best friends, and while he’d play nice to his face you’d always get it in the neck once you were alone about how you and Colson were ‘too close’ and he ‘didn’t trust him’. Before that final night you’d spent with him, things had been pretty good with the two of you for a few weeks, there hadn’t been much drama and so you hadn’t thought too much of inviting him out with you and the gang for a night out clubbing. Your good run had clearly come to an end, when you felt his hand grab your arm tightly and drag you off the dancefloor where you’d been dancing with Colson. You’d been bundled into an uber so quickly, you hadn’t even managed to get your handbag from inside. You saw Colson running out of the club, followed by Rook and Slim who was holding your bag, as the cab pulled away.
Once you were back at the apartment, he flew into a rage. You’d never seen him this bad before, his eyes were dark and when you tried to argue back, calling his jealousy ‘pathetic’ he snapped. He’d grabbed you by the throat and slammed you against the wall, “Don’t you ever disrespect me like that again” he’d spat in your face, before striking you so hard with his fist that the skin across your cheek split open. It was as if his actions had knocked him back to reality, he’d let go of you and you ran to your bedroom, locked the door behind you and started packing a bag. He hammered on the door, begging you to open it and you could hear that he was crying. You looked around for your phone before you remembered you’d left it at the club. Desperate to get away, you opened your laptop and brought up instagram, managing to send Colson a message asking him to send you an uber to his house straight away. You’d thrown your laptop and a few more bits in your bag, the battery dying before you had a chance to wait for a reply, before pulling the bedroom door open and barging past Stevie. He’d tried to grab you, but you’d finally had enough “Never fucking touch me again” you spat, pushing him off you. The hatred in your voice rooted him to the spot and he said nothing as you walked out, the door slamming behind you.
Once you were outside the apartment building, the reality of what had just happened and the situation you were in started to wash over you. You had no phone, no wallet, your laptop was dead. Just as you were starting to seriously panic, an uber pulled up and Colson had leapt out of the backseat. You’d been in total shock and had just let Colson guide you into the cab and then out into his house, up to his room. He didn’t say anything as he led you to his bathroom and lifted you up onto the counter. He grabbed a flannel and soaked it with warm water, rinsing it out before pressing it softly against the cut on your cheek, gently wiping away the blood that had mixed with your mascara laced tears. The tenderness of his actions was almost too much and you started to sob again.
“Hey, hey. Y/N, look at me” he said softly, lifting your chin so you looked at him, his blue eyes misty themselves “It’s okay, you’re safe here. Don’t move, I’ll be back in a sec”
He left the bathroom and returned with a pair of boxers and a t-shirt. Putting them on the counter next to you, he crouched down and undid the straps on your heels, slipping them off your feet and then helping you down from the counter. “I’ll leave you to change”
When you came out of the bathroom, Colson was lying in his bed “Come here” he said, holding his arm and beckoning into his side. You crawled under the covers next to him and snuggled into him, his long arms wrapping around you.
“Col…” you said quietly
“Yeah?” he whispered back, stroking your hair off your forehead
“Thank you…”
“You don’t need to thank me. I’ve always got you Y/N”
Tumblr media
______
“I hated that fucking guy. That night...I wanted to kill him after what he’d done to you”
You see him tense up at the memory and you lean over and squeeze his knee “You’re such an amazing friend, do you know that. I don’t know what I would’ve done that night without you”
"You're a fucking warrior Y/N, you'd have handled your shit. I was just happy you trusted me enough to let me be there for you. You deserve so much better than that" he says, covering the hand you'd placed on his knee with his, staring you in the eyes and returning the smile that's crept across your face
"You know there's been a few punches I've wanted to dole out on behalf of you over the years, but you've never let me" you tell him
"Too right I'd never let you. I never want you in the drama, you're too good for getting caught up in that shit" he replies, pointing at you with mock sternness
"Hey" he says, seeing your expression wash over with a tint of sadness "At least the sleepless nights aren't what they were then…
… If we're gonna work through some old demons this lockdown, I'm sure I've got some songs and lyrics that have never seen the light of day" He reaches over the desk and pulls his laptop towards him "You've inspired me… "
"Oh no, are we gonna fuck our heads up with this?" you joke nervously, worrying that Colson's going to delve into something that's going to upset him
"Nah, I got you covered and you got me, right?"
"True dat" you say, as he holds his fist out so you can fistbump, his eyes now focused on his laptop screen
______
You felt kinda bad, having kept Colson up all night with you the last two nights, especially as you'd got him reminiscing about some tough memories, so tonight you tried to sneak past his room when your restlessness got the better of you.
"Nice try kid!" Colson says as he throws his bedroom door open, causing you to yelp in fright. standing there topless with his sweatpants hung low in his hips, he lights the joint hanging from his mouth "I told you we were in this together now"
"I felt bad, making you stay up with me"
"You didn't make me do shit…Wait a sec, let me find a hoodie. If I have any left in here…" he says, giving a pointed look towards the huge blue hoodie you were wrapped in before walking back into his room and rummaging through his drawers
"Oh shush, you have like a hundred…"
"Right come on" he says, pulling a pink hoodie over his head and flipping the hood up over his messy hair "Let's see what we get into tonight…"
Tumblr media
______
And so the nights went on like this, the two of you falling into an easygoing studio routine. If there wasn't anything else going on in the house, you'd eat dinner together then head to the studio and work through the night into the small hours, skipping out the pretense of trying to sleep. You were both pretty productive at this time it seemed, both being proclaimed night owls, and keeping busy during these uncertain times was keeping your minds off the unfolding pandemic.
Considering he’d referred to his home studio in the past as the ‘rage cage’ (and it certainly could still be party central when the entire crew got involved), it was actually a place you drifted towards to relax these days. You’d always worked well together in a studio, but over the weeks spending so much time just the two of you, you became more in tune with each other, noticing when one of you had hit a wall and it was time for bed. Sometimes you'd work in comfortable silence, side by side, engrossed in your own seperate tasks. Sometimes barely any work would get done as you put the world to rights talking about anything and everything in a late night impromptu therapy session.
Tumblr media
This evening, you'd been sitting cross legged in your chair for hours now, focusing so hard on editing a song which was driving you mad, you hadn't realised your feet had gone numb. As you try to move, your knees crack and pins and needles shoot through your legs. Colson looks up from the screen he'd been engrossed in after hearing you groan and sees you rubbing your feet trying to bring back the feeling to them
‘C’mere’ he said, before turning his chair towards you and leaning down to grab your legs, bringing your feet up onto his lap. He pulls your socks off and begins massaging your feet. You lean your head back, eyes closed and let out a long ‘hmmm’. You don’t see Colson glancing over at you and shifting in his seat as he lets out slow breath before turning back to his screen
“Now this is the kind of work session I could get used to”, you sighed "You being my studio bitch on hand for foot rubs. Although, I imagine this enjoyment goes both ways Mr Foot Lover” you tease, throwing him an exaggerated wink
Colson throws his head back with a hearty chuckle, and light heartedly slaps your calf
"Keep it in your pants Y/N"
You laugh and wiggle your toes, Colson letting out a dramatic, throaty groan in response. "Those are some sexy little toes though" he states, sticking his tongue out.
Still laughing, you put your hand to your chest, and gasp as you feign prudishness and try to pull your feet away. He grabs both your feet in one of his hands, keeping them in place then leans over the desk and pulls your laptop towards you
"Get on with some work you, this is supposed to be keeping you motivated, not distracted"
He scolds affectionately, with a smile on his face
“Okay, okay, spoilsport” you grumble as you pull your computer onto your lap
Half an hour passes, your legs still on Colson’s lap with him still massaging your feet absentmindedly with one hand while he works, and your eyes begin to feel heavy. You don’t realise you’ve fallen asleep, until you’re awoken by a “woah” from Colson as he catches your laptop which is about to fall. Taking it from your lap, he states “Right, time for bed you”
You check your phone and see it’s already 5:36am.
You stand up and stretch then walk over behind Colson, putting your arms around his shoulders, and resting your chin on his head. Looking at his screen, you yawn “You got much left to do?”
He leans back into you, bringing his hand up to rest on your arm, “Making some good progress so just gonna finish a couple of bits”
“Okay dude” you gently kiss the top of his head and squeeze the back of his neck a couple of times as you turn to leave “Try and get some rest, we’ve got a long day of sweet fuck all to do tomorrow” you say through another big yawn
“Heh yeah, Night Kid” he says softly, letting out a yawn himself. Colson turns and watches you head out of the studio and lets out a big sigh. Feeling the back of his neck still tingle from where you’d squeezed it, he’s suddenly aware of how empty the room feels without you in it....
Author's note: Wasn't episode 8 just lovely? I just couldn't get this out of my head, they're becoming so dependent on each other. Be still my beating heart. They're reminding me of my MoonMun couple so much and I think that explains my obsession and the amount of fics I've written thus far lol.
Summary: Just for tonight he'll be selfish.
"Are you okay now? Is there someone there?" He moves towards the dark alley that she came bolting from looking as frightened as he's ever seen her. He feels his muscles coil ready to protect her by any means possible. But before he can move she's tightening her hold on him, clinging to him now he can feel her warmth all around him like a blanket.
"No! Don't leave me." Hearing that scared plea causes a blurry memory to resurface in his mind, he can almost feel the words swimming in his mind but the memory is foggy and it evaporates as quickly as it formed.
Strange.
"Okay, okay. I'm not going anywhere. Let's go inside." He starts to maneuver her toward her house at first she moves with him but then she stills, letting out a small sound of recollection.
"My phone." She whispers into his chest, they are pressed so closely he can feel her heartbeat still pounding through her chest into his. He strokes her back in a lazy soothing manner, shocked when she melts into his embrace further. Nothing is making sense at this moment but he doesn't care enough to stop, this.
"What about your phone?" He redirects the conversation and she continues, "I dropped it in there when I ran away."
"Okay. I'll go get it, wait here." He starts to gently untangle her hands from his flannel but she lets out a whine, gripping his shirt even stronger and moving with him.
"I'll---let's go together."
She's trembling now, positively shaking in her spot and he wants to argue with her to just go inside and wait for him but her earlier plea echoes in his ears. He can't leave her alone not right now, so he steps forward feeling her move with him, one step after another until he sees the rectangular object on the ground.
"I'm going to bend down to get it." He can feel her shifting beside him looking around wildly but thankfully no ominous figure appears, they are alone.
After a moment she nods, letting go enough for him to bend and retrieve the device and he checks the screen noting happily that it's not damaged but when he touches the screen it doesn't turn on so he tries again.
"It's dead. I forgot to charge it." She admits, taking the phone from his grasp.
He turns to her with a sharp stare, "You stayed out late after what happened and didn't charge your phone? Are you that fearless?" He chides, frustrated with her lack of awareness and disregard for her safety. If anything ever happened to her he would.... He would.......
"It wasn't on purpose. I didn't realize. I know it was irresponsible."
It's not a response he's expecting, the Hye Jin he knows would argue back, hardly taking shit from him ergo her meek uncharacteristic reply makes him feel worst, he shouldn't be blaming her especially after seeing first-hand how scared she is.
"Let's go inside now, it's cold and you're shaking." They both know the temperature has very little to do with her tremors but she doesn't disagree and carelessly he enters the code when they reach the door, ignoring the jolt in his chest that erupts as he enters his own birthday and the door clicks open. He thought she would have changed it by now.
He's grateful she hasn't.
They both take off their shoes, standing side by side now her arm around his waist and his around her shoulder. It's a small space and they can barely move but they work around it, reluctant to release each other.
"Thank you." Her voice is barely above a whisper, he thinks that he almost imagined it. He had an excuse prepared this time, he was merely patrolling and happened to pass her house. That was the lie he intended to go with, but something in her voice stops him from saying those deceitful words. He's tired of hiding and making up excuses for being around her.
"You're welcome. Here sit down, I'll make you some tea." Thoughtlessly he moves towards the kitchen, taking two steps until he can't move anymore. She's holding onto him tightly, he turns around looking at her small closed fists and then her trembling pretty face.
With a soft sigh, he takes her hand rubbing a thumb across the smooth skin.
"Just come with me." Immediately she steps forward pressing into his back, he tries to calm his heart taking the teapot and filling it with water, then he opens the cabinet retrieving a mug and setting it aside.
"I like honey. And a squeeze of lemon." He smiles at her soft demands.
Now that sounds more like his dentist. The bottle of honey is in her top cabinet and he grabs a fresh lemon from the fridge cutting it in half.
They stand silently as the water boils and he finally feels his anger boiling away as well. Angry that he was almost too late and that his town isn't safe anymore, angry that someone was able to shake this immoveable woman.
The shrill ringing of the teapot breaks him from his impasse, on autopilot he pours the water on the tea bag, then squeezes the honey in the steaming water, "I like a lot of honey." She's attached to his back her voice vibrating straight through him, he freezes when she wraps her arms around his waist. Her closeness is messing with his mind, but he tries to finish his job and get them on the couch maybe with some distance between them.
For his sanity.
"Let's go sit down." He grabs both mugs walking over to her couch, placing her cup on the far right and taking a seat on the far left putting a sea of distance between them. But immediately she sits down right next to him, leaving no space between them she might as well be in his lap. He squirms in place, standing up to get some reprieve but she grabs his hand staring up at him.
"Where are you going?" Fear bleeds into her voice and he lets go of his hesitations, tonight is not about him.
Leaning over he grabs her cup, tugging it closer.
"Nowhere, I'm not going anywhere. Drink your tea."
She blinks slowly at him before nodding and bringing the warm beverage to her lips. Her hum of satisfaction warms him all the way down to his toes.
"It's good. You really are good at everything." He preens at the compliment, thinking of all the times this week he wasn't needed or was cast aside for Director Ji. He's been swallowing his jealousy all week. So her words fill a hollow space in his chest.
He watches her drink the entire cup, ignoring his own growing cold on the table.
"I need to charge my phone." She suddenly says and he stares before nodding, taking the opportunity to drink his lukewarm tea. But then he notices that she's not moving despite having the phone and charging in her hand.
"What's wrong?" He raises an eyebrow in confusion.
She looks embarrassed now, unable to meet his eyes and he's flabbergasted at her reaction.
"Come with me?" He stares at her, feeling the same pride bloom as when she sat next to him instead of her sunbae, she's leaning on him.
He spots an outlet across the room, "Okay let's go there." She looks relieved at his lack of teasing, together they walk over to the outlet and she bends to plug in the charger and puts the phone on the ground.
In seconds the phone comes to life and he feels a sharp pain in his chest as a barrage of messages light up her phone, the majority from one person. When she clicks to open the message he instinctively looks away, not wanting to witness their conversation.
"He messaged so much." Her voice is filled with awe and childishly he moves away. He'd almost forgotten that she didn't actually need him. He was just conveniently there.
"I should go now. You're safe. Make sure to come home earlier from now on, maybe ask him to walk you home." It hurts to utter those words but it's easier than being replaced later, it's okay if he's the one that pushes her away first. "I'll see myself out."
He stands ready to leave, pointedly not looking back before he changes his mind and stays forever.
She was just scared, tonight didn't mean anything.
He grabs his fallen bagpack thrusting it on his shoulder, hopping into his boots all ready to head out. But it's unusually quiet, the silence is so deafening that he can't stop himself from looking back over at her. It's a mistake, a huge one at that. The phone has fallen from her hands, abandoned to the side and she's looking at him with the most desolate stare he's ever seen, moisture pooling in her huge round eyes.
"What's wrong? Why are you cry--"
"You said you wouldn't leave me. Why are you changing your mind? What if someone is still there? What am I supposed to do without yo--u?" Her voice cracks on the last word and his heart follows, she needs him. Nobody else has this week but here she is breaking down because he tried to leave, she needs him.
His decision is made for him in that moment.
As soon as he's close enough to touch she's clinging to him once again, he only absently realizes that she's trying to lead them to her bedroom but even he's not saintly enough for that so he stops her.
"Let's go to the couch. You'll feel more comfortable."
She doesn't question him seemingly happy to follow his lead.
The couch is comfy but definitely not intended for two grown adults, leaning over the arm rest he tries to get situated and once he stops moving she's snuggling into his side curling around him like a cat.
"Whenever I was scared, my mom used to stroke my hair."
He stares at the wall in front of them, wondering if she's aware of just how many lines they're crossing tonight- no catapulting over. But he's tired of second guessing himself so he stops thinking and just listens, bringing the hand that is curled on her shoulder up to her head before dragging his palm down her soft hair, gulping when she moans at the ministrations.
Her breathing starts to deepen and he feels her body losing its tension, she's falling asleep and once she succumbs he can finally make his escape, that's his plan. But he doesn't expect her to start stroking him too, her hand delicate on his chest.
"You've worked hard. Stopping a scammer and saving me all while recovering from a cold."
It's nothing. It's what he's supposed to do.
But it feels so good to hear those words, words that he hardly heard growing up.
"Go to sleep." He says instead of thank you, instead of kissing her like he's wanted to since he saw her outside and she ran straight into his heart.
It's a miracle but she listens to him, drifting to sleep her head heavy on his chest and he knows that he should wait a few minutes and try to extract himself but he can't, not tonight. Just for tonight he'll be selfish.
"You're making me want all sorts of things." He whispers to her sleeping face, terrified of her and all that she makes him feel. Feeling emboldened by their almost kiss initiated by her, he pushes her hair behind her ear taking a second to really looking at her face. She really is that beautiful. It doesn't seem fair. Leaning down he presses a soft kiss to her forehead, her skin is sleep warm and perfectly smooth. He presses a second one shamelessly. Her lips are right there and heavens knows that he's tempted but he can't take advantage, can't bring himself to do anything else. That's enough.
He doesn't know when he fell asleep but he wakes up to Mi-seon throwing a blanket over them, he keeps his eyes tightly shut mentally berating himself for that leaving when he had a chance.
"Just friends my ass. Just admit that you like him, look at the way you're clinging to him."
Somehow they traversed further down the couch in their sleep, both laying horizontal now with her body on top on his and her head tucked under his chin.
"I've never seen her sleep so peacefully though. She looks so young."
He tries not to think too deeply into what that might mean, listening to the retreating footsteps of her roommate and feeling himself losing the battle with sleep. She'll probably be embarrassed to find them this way tomorrow but that's a hurdle for another day.
Just for tonight I'll hold her. Until I'm not allowed to hold her anymore.
Hello! I've seen two asks with the first reaction of a Fem!Reader dancing in an erotic/sexy way. (One with the dorm heads and one with the vice dorm heads-)
So I thought I could ask the same thing, but with Cater, Jack, Floyd, Epel, Sebek and Silver. It's okay if it's breaking the rules or you're not comfortable with writing it! But thanks in advance anyways! Stay peachy!! ^^
I never thought I'd end up making a whole series of requests for this style, and to think that the dorm heads was my first order for Twst, what a great start.
Dorm Leaders reaction
Vice Dorm Leaders reaction
As always, all characters are +18 Enjoyyyyyy
Cater
Montero – Lil Nas X
I imagine Cater as a person who follows trends and is aware of the new music that comes out every single day, so I don't think it is weird to find him listening to the new of Lil Nas x (hiding it from Riddle obviously, knowing him that kind of songs would be strictly prohibited in the halls of Heartslabyul)
But as smart as Cater could get with social media and internet fashions, he didn't notice how you had gotten into music so much that you were mentally creating a choreography.
One specifically for him.
So, when you asked him to spend some private time in the comfort of his bedroom, he didn't expect at all that you would sit him in the middle of his bed just passing the threshold.
For a moment he thought you were going to give him a massage or a handjob, but when you told him to wait patiently, that you were going to change, his impure thoughts were dispelled, thinking that you were going to get more comfortable to snuggle with him.
How wrong he was. It was seeing you come out of the bathroom with a hoodie (that warm and purposeful had nothing), which barely covered your sports bra and shorts, half covering your butt, when all unseemly thoughts returned to his mind.
He stretched out his hands to pull you to him, but you stayed in place, saying you had another surprise.
Cater automatically took out his cell phone to record and take some occasionals photos.
Watching you dance so freely, doing a private show and personally for him made his heart race to a thousand an hour. Even his pants were starting to tighten.
It was seeing your ass and automatically biting his lips. In his mind he was wanting to place each palm on each of your cheeks and squeeze them as he held you against him, preventing you from moving, and his cock buried well deep inside you.
"Are you happy to see me?" your question brought him out of his reverie, realizing that your choreography was over.
He put the cell phone aside and pounced on you, wrapping his arms around you, capturing your lips and throwing you on the bed. Perhaps, among all the ruffle, he put his phone in recording mode and captured ... the entire subsequent session.
Don't worry, Cater would never divulge a video like that and if you want it delete it, he will do it immediately. If not, he will keep it in a folder with a password.
Jack
Solo – Demi Lovato
Jack tried multiple times to convince you to go train with him around the Savannaclaw arena, but each time you refused, stating that you liked being more in the comfort of the bed, covered up to your head, rather than get up at five in the morning to run.
He didn’t take it the wrong way, the way he trained was not for everyone, but he did advise you not to stay still and fall into a sedentary lifestyle, claiming that it would be harmful to your health.
Therefore, you decided to start training on your own, with your own time and doing a little of what you liked most; because remember: to be able to dance like divine goddesses, you need to train ... and a lot.
While he went out for a run, you stayed asleep, when classes ended it was your turn to train.
One day classes ended quite early in your case, allowing you to go to Jack's room to rest and wait for him; But the minutes grew long and what seemed like an hour of waiting turned into two.
So… loud music, more comfortable clothes and practice.
And what does Jack like more than training? See you give your best while doing what you like.
Finding you in his room dancing in sportswear was an image that he would like to print and keep in his mind.
He didn’t care that you were sweating or that the clothes weren’t the tightest to mark your figure, just seeing you move your hips was what he needed to have a smile from ear to ear.
Finish your dance calmly, that your gray wolf will be waiting for you at the door, smiling at you and with open arms to give you a big hug for the effort.
He would eat you with kisses and bites to show you how happy he was to see you happy. If this leads to more… spicy things, that's up to you.
What if I recommend you not to dance this same choreography in the training field in broad daylight, where everyone can see you. The results could be a bit possessive.
But, if you're brave enough, don't complain later if you end up with bites and marks all over your body.
Floyd
My oh My – Camilla Cabello
You walked into the gym expecting to find the basketball team training as usual, but there was no one in their place. Absolute silence.
You took the opportunity to place your backpack next to the roadways, change into comfortable sportswear and put on some music to improve the atmosphere.
When this song started to play, you elatedly stood in the middle of the gym, a sly smile on your face, completely ignoring the sound of rumbling footsteps and slowly approaching the gym.
You were in the middle of the choreography when you felt two arms gripping you tightly, leaving you gasping for air. You screeched as Floyd began to squeeze you more and more, making it impossible for you to move.
"My my, nobody taught you to pay attention to your surroundings when you're alone, koebi-chan?" that sceared the shit out of you.
"Can I dance with you?"
He pulled you closer to him, pressing your back against his torso and your hips against his, lifting you off the floor, and began to spin and sway to the rhythm of the music.
The situation made you laugh until you felt his hand pass over your chest and touch your breast. He settled you against the wall, now your pussy positioned on his erect dick, grinding it thanks to his arms that held you in the air.
At no point did either of you stop the music, letting the playlist roll on and cover the sweet moans coming out of your mouth.
Some freshman ventured into the gym when they heard faint groans creep through the large metal doors.
They got the scare of their lives when they saw Floyd pounding from behind you, staring straight at the entrance and throwing death threats with just his eyes.
Epel
Do it like a dude – Jessie J
Listen to me... you can't tell the only woman at NRC that she can't participate in a dance competition because "it's only for guys"
Uhhhhhhhhh, if I was in that situation how would break their teeth.
Buuuut, you were able to defend yourself in a better way… going to the middle of the training ground where the competition (led by Professor Vargas) was taking place.
I have to say that you left all the participants with icy skin? Other than making them feel like they have a small dick. Straight to the ego.
And Epel was no different. He wasn’t embarrassed by the fact that a girl had beaten him in steps that were recognized later is another matter not ashamed at all, not at all.
Which did bring his ego to the ground and his self-esteem was to see you give your all to overthrow sexism, while he could barely stand in the same line as those of Savannaclaw.
Either way, he enjoyed watching you dance, you seemed re-empowered and that gave you an aura of a strong and powerful woman.
If those who refused to let you participate didn’t give you the prize, rest assured that Epel will leave them in their place, perhaps with the help of Deuce.
He asked you how you could have so much confidence in yourself and that may have caused a butterfly effect ... he wanted to know, well you will teach him in bed.
Two or three tricks may have taken effect and in the next competition (or anything) Epel will give his best, even if he has you as an opponent.
Victory sex for whoever wins? Victory sex.
Sebek
Play with Fire – Sam Tinnesz
You were calm in the comfort of your bedroom, going over some class assignments, some background music, Grimm sleeping next to the bed. A normal day.
But quite boring.
You decided to go down to do a little stretching, so much time hunched over in bed looking at the notes it makes your back very bad. You took your cell phone and left the little cat sleeping comfortably.
Between those stretches you got the idea of practicing a little choreography, nothing too complicated or time consuming; maybe half an hour, forty minutes and that's it.
Well, it ended up being a two hour workout, doing one choreography more complicated than the other. Night had fallen and you were supposed to have a little "date" with Sebek right in your bedroom.
There were knocks on the door, but with the volume of the music you couldn't hear them, nor did you hear the creak of the door opening and closing.
Sebek found you in the middle of the living room, moving your arms around your body. He’s not stupid, he knew you were doing a choreography and he would have enough patience to let you finish it and show up.
What he didn’t expect was to see your figure fall to the floor and move in those ... eccentric movements
Indecent thoughts get out of this mind.
You finished dancing and Sebek was still standing in the middle of the hall, not knowing what to do, where to look, and if he was allowed to speak.
"Sebek are you ok? When did you came in?"
Completely taken out of his reverie, ready to continue the evening as if nothing had happened.
Inwardly he was dying of excitement.
Without telling you anything, with the "date" half finished, having a good and sweet dinner, he just ... slamed you against the wall and took you right there and there.
You both ended up scaring poor Grimm. He just wanted to come down to eat his tuna.
Silver
Maria - 화사 (Hwasa)
It wasn’t unusual to hear multiple and different songs in the corridors of Diasomnia, especially with Lilia as a member of the light music club; it was normal to hear all kinds of rhythms, even different languages.
Therefore, Silver didn’t find it unusual to hear Korean lyrics as he walked through the lounge of his dorm.
What he did think was strange was hearing footsteps and blows, which had a very peculiar resemblance to the rhythm of music.
In a corridor somewhat away from the common area, which led to a small meeting room and greater tranquility, you were there with the music blasting and dancing as if you were the owner of the place.
Don't get me wrong, Silver was 1000% okay with you dancing in his dorm, even if you wanted to do it on a table in the middle of the lounge room… be his guest.
What he couldn’t allow was his roommates seeing you so… free, sure of yourself, indisputably if you were wearing sports clothes or little clothes, leaving nothing to the imagination.
And if Malleus was among those people… ufff, a big no from our silver boy.
He would go to where you were and lift you by the legs, placing you on his shoulder and commenting that you could continue your dance in a more private place.
That place was his room.
"The way you dance is ... intoxicating"
If at any time the brilliant idea of approaching Silver occurs to you while you dance, take it for granted that he will grab you in his arms and throw you on the bed.
Nope, he's not going to let you finish the choreography. He has another type of choreography in mind.
Lilia put up a do not disturb sign on the other side of the door, proud to see his son a grown-up… apart from the fact that he would have a little “chat” with him immediately after the deed it doesn't matter if you’re still naked and pathetically covered with sheet, he would just *pufff*
I've never done this before? Is this even the right place for prompts?! I found your fic a week ago, and you're so good! It's totally cool if you don't write this (it's so hokey) but I'd love to see His Excellency LWJ having to celebrate his birthday publicly. It's awful, he gets lots of bad presents. Maybe he gets ugly headdresses and sect leaders trying to hook him up with their daughters. His gremlin husband runs interference and gives him The Best Present. (NHS gets him something tasteful.)
ao3
Untamed verse
On the morning of his birthday, the Chief Cultivator, Lan Wangji, wakes up on time, as always, and finds his normally-fast-asleep husband wide awake and wearing nothing but a ribbon. He does not leave his bed for another shichen, missing breakfast; he will need to make it up to his family later.
He does not care. He knows it will be the only good gift he receives today.
-
The first gifts begin arriving at lunch: the political ones, the ones aimed at honoring the Chief Cultivator rather than Lan Wangji himself. Mediocre artwork that he would never allow to deface his walls, local ‘specialties so vile that even Wei Wuxian chokes on them, invitations to come view various local attractions that are so obviously requests for assistance that they can barely be described as being badly-hidden.
At least four different sects gift him with empty scrolls that are just the right size for him to write the Lan sect rules into and which are obviously designed for expressly that purpose. It is not subtle.
The more irritating Lan clan elders forgo even this obvious step and simply provide him with the sect rules themselves – again. There is a fairly obvious emphasis on the provisions that would suggest that his marriage to Wei Wuxian might not have been the wisest decision he’d ever made.
Lan Wangji accepts them all, and wants none.
-
In the afternoon, Lan Wangji opens letters. Some of them, blissfully, relate to actual work he has to complete in his role as Chief Cultivator. Most do not.
Several of them offer – in not especially subtle terms – their daughters or sisters or nieces to be his concubine, since obviously his current spouse will be incapable of bearing children for him.
Wei Wuxian finds those letters, and spends at least a shichen cackling, pretending to be pregnant. There is a brief interlude. Later, Wei Wuxian even suggests that Lan Wangji consider accepting the offers just long enough to go judge the quality of “the goods” that he is being offered before rejecting it as insulting and degrading to all those involved.
He stops only after Lan Wangji notes that the niece referenced in the letter he was holding is younger than Lan Sizhui. They both agree never to discuss it again.
-
Sect Leader Yao invites him to come around to a family dinner sometime.
This is, somehow, even more insulting than the concubines.
-
Shortly before dinner, Lan Wangji receives the gifts which have been categorized as personal.
His uncle gives him practical things, as he has always done – a new sheath for Bichen and replacement strings for Wangji, in this instance – and Lan Wangji supposes that he should appreciate them more than he does. It is only that his uncle often gives him practical things, and it does not feel as though any particular effort has been made regarding his birthday.
His brother sends him a painting. It is lovely. Lan Wangji would rather have seen his brother, who remains in seclusion.
Lan Sizhui has thoughtfully composed a small song for him, as he has done every year since Lan Wangji adopted him, and he and Lan Jingyi perform it together. Lan Wangji has not yet found a way to tell his beloved adopted son that his top-notch skills at musical cultivation do not translate into a talent for composing, and long ago resigned himself to taking the secret to his grave. The song does not cause his qi to deviate on the spot; that is already something.
Lan Jingyi gifts him with a rabbit. It might have been a good gift if it wasn’t one of his own.
-
When night falls, Lan Wangji receives the gifts which have been deemed ‘important’ – in other words, the ones from the sect leaders of the other Great Sects. Lan Wangji is not sure why these gifts are always presented at night, as it means he will not be able to write appropriate thank-you notes until the morning.
It occurs to him, not for the first time, that perhaps that is the reason.
Jin Ling sends him something from the Lanling treasury – a dagger, gilt gold. Lan Wangji would never use such a gaudy object. Wei Wuxian suggests pawning it on their next night-hunt, and Lan Wangji suspects that that may in fact be its intended use, beyond Jin Ling simply wanting to get rid of the thing.
Jiang Chen sends him a horrifically ugly statue.
“Did – did he go blind?” Wei Wuxian asked, staring at it with an expression of awe, and possibly fear. Lan Wangji does not blame him.
It is truly beyond the pale. Mere words cannot encompass its hideousness.
“No,” Lan Wangji said grimly. “He will insist on seeing it on his next visit. Politics therefore require me to place it in a public location.”
“…has he done this before?”
“There are sixteen in the closet.”
Wei Wuxian covers his mouth, but the motion is inadequate to conceal his laughter. Lan Wangji studies the statue – Jiang Cheng truly outdid himself this year, as Lan Wangji is unable to even determine what was the original subject matter the (potentially deranged) artist was attempting to depict – and mentally vows to himself that the hairpiece he invariably presents to Jiang Cheng in return will be even more grotesque than usual this year.
Possibly something that will make his hair stick up like a cockatiel.
“At least Nie Huaisang got you something tasteful,” Wei Wuxian comments, unrolling the artwork and holding it up against the wall. Lan Wangji hopes he is not planning on putting it there permanently. “This is a perfectly lovely cityscape! Nothing like those terrible ones from earlier.”
“It is pornography,” Lan Wangji says, and Wei Wuxian chokes.
“Are you sure?” his husband wheezes. “I don’t – it’s a cityscape.”
Lan Wangji is sure. He does not need to check to confirm it. It has always been pornography.
However, because he loves his husband, he walks over to the table and examines it briefly.
“The second window in the inn,” he finally says.
Wei Wuxian squints at the painting. “Which one is the inn..? The second – oh. Oh. Wait! That’s you and me!”
“Yes,” Lan Wangji says. “It usually is.”
“Usually – no, you know what, I’m not going to ask you which ones they are. I’m going to examine each painting you own until I find the rest of them.” He paused. “Can I hang this one up?”
“Not in the main room,” Lan Wangji compromises. Mentally, he swears revenge against Nie Huaisang.
He does not expect anything to come of that oath. Unlike Jiang Cheng, Nie Huaisang has proven irritatingly difficult to annoy, even when one is making a sincere effort.
On second thought, perhaps that is for the best.
“Well,” Wei Wuxian said, after he’s finished hanging up the offending item. “After seeing all those presents, I feel like I’ve fallen down on the job. All I have to offer you is more of the same thing I gave you this morning.”
It is nice, Lan Wangji contemplates, to be proven wrong in his assumption that he would receive only one nice gift all day.
hey there I've an idea for a bucky request, just an idea though if you don't wanna write it that's completely fine! : ) so im thinking super angst with a sprinkle of fluff maybe? bucky either has a nightmare or some type of episode as the winter solider and attacks reader but doesn't remember doing it, then when he sees reader again he keeps pestering her asking what happened to her bcuz he can see that she's injured. she doesn't want him to feel bad so she tries her best not to tell him but he keeps asking and wanting to talk to her to see if she's okay and she eventually tells him that he did it
Why of course! I hope this is something along the lines of what you requested. I ended up getting a bit carried away hahaha.
Here is Line Without A Hook
You, Bucky, and the rest of the team had just returned from a grueling mission infiltrating a Hydra base in Russia. To be expected Bucky was a bit shaken by being back there, he was quiet most of the ride back in the Quinjet. Deciding that a nice scalding long shower would not only ease your tension but also Bucky’s, you began to light sweet smelling candles along the sink and warm two towels in the dryer.
“Bucky come here my love,” you called out as you were discarding your tactical gear and stepping into the shower. After a few minutes of no response from your blue-eyed lover, you peek your head around the shower curtain, glancing around the room in search of Bucky. Not being able to find him made your heart drop to the depths of your body, slipping out of the shower, wrapping your body in a towel, setting off to find him.
When you enter your shared bedroom that is attached to the bathroom your nerves settle, finding your lover stationed stagnant on the bed as if he had fallen asleep sitting up. You walk over and place your hand on his shoulder, only to be met with his metal hand gripping your wrist, twisting your arm behind your back and up against his chest.
“Bucky what’s going on?” you question, confused by the sudden force of violence he has used upon you. Apparently talking to him wasn’t the right move, seeing as you were now being shoved face-first against your bedroom wall, picture frames falling down from the force, glass shattering around the two of you. Gashes and cuts litter your face as blood begins to trickle down, seeping its way onto the white towel.
Your blood begins to run cold, soon realizing what exactly was going on, the mission had affected Bucky more than he had let on, more than you had realized. Being back in the cold of Russia, in the Hydra base had weakened Bucky, letting The Winter Soldier take main control of his mind and body. Struggling against the grasp that he had on you was no use, as the Soldat roughly turns you around shoving your back against the wall, bringing his metal appendage to wrap around your throat. Before his grasp became too tight you let out a blood-curdling scream, hoping someone would hear and come to your rescue. Black spots begin to speckle across your vision, breathing becoming more ragged as your limp body falls from the grasp of your lover.
________________________
Bright shining lights, hushed conversations, and the scent of sterilized tools are what you awoke to. Blinking slowly, allowing your eyes to adjust to the light you saw that you were in the infirmary located in the compound. Steve and Nat were at the door, indulging in a hushed conversation that you weren’t able to make out. Gently raising your body to sit up caused alarms to sound on the countless monitors that you were hooked up to, which made Steve and Nat’s heads whip around to see your terrified eyes.
Steve rushed to your side, “Y/N, are you okay? How are you feeling?”
You opened your mouth to speak, only to realize the tightness and dryness in your throat. Slowly you reached over to grasp the cup of water next to your bed, bringing it to your lips carefully, gulping down its contents quickly. “I’m okay, what happened” you rasped.
“You don’t remember?” Nat questioned, leading you to shake your head no. “Bucky attacked you, something from the mission…” she hesitated, “caused him to lose control on his mind and body, allowing for the Winter Soldier to resurface.”
“Where is he?” you didn’t care what had happened to you, bruises and cuts would heal with time, the emotional turmoil this would cause Bucky would simply break him. You needed to get to him before he realized what the Winter Soldier had done to you, ripping out your IV and removing your nose cannula, you swung your legs over the edge of the bed ready to find him.
Steve grasped your arm, pulling you back into bed, “He’s in bed, he hasn’t woken up yet, he doesn’t know…”
“Don’t tell him,” you begged, “Please don’t tell him, he will never forgive himself, let me handle it.” Steve and Nat shared a concerning glance between each other before slowly nodding, knowing that if and when Bucky finds out what happened, he would never forgive himself and would surely disappear.
After a few hours of tests, you were discharged and were able to go back to your room. Walking down the hallway your breath hitched as you hesitated opening up the door to your shared bedroom with your lover. Hearing his soft snores is what pulled you from the trance, twisting the knob and slipping in quietly. Discarding your clothing in the laundry basket, you crawled your way into bed, next to the man you recognized, smiling peacefully to yourself, you know in your heart that you two will be able to overcome this, as long as he never finds out he was the one to inflict so much harm upon you.
____________________________
The next morning you awoke to soft feather-light kisses being pressed along your spine. Contently you rolled over to snuggle closer to the warmth that radiated off of Bucky, welcoming arms encased you bringing you closer to his chest. Opening your eyes and slowly looking up at Bucky, you heard him inhale harshly, eyes filled with terror and worry. “What the hell happened to you doll?” he stuttered.
“Oh you don’t remember?” you questioned hesitantly, “I got caught up during the mission, some Hydra agents got to me but, you rescued me, my knight in shining armor you.” Letting out a breath you did not know you were holding, you stared at Bucky, praying to God that he believed you.
“No, I don’t remember that, I don’t remember much of the mission…” he trailed off, looking at you questionably. Slowly removing yourself from his grasp, you left the warmth of your bed, extending a hand out to him. “Come on, let's go eat,” you whispered, hoping he would drop the subject. Bucky intertwined his hand with yours, pulling himself out of bed, trekking down the hall to the kitchen where Steve, Nat, and Tony were chatting over breakfast.
“Good morning everyone,” cheerfully you skipped over to the fridge to get out the jam while Bucky grabbed the bread and peanut butter for your breakfast meal.
“Y/N what the hell happened to you?” Tony gasped when your mangled neck and face came into view.
“Oh nothing, just a few scratches from the mission, don’t worry I’m okay,” you replied, hoping everyone would just drop the subject.
“It wasn’t on the debrief, I read it just a few moments ago, care to explain this?” you felt four sets of eyes on you as you slowly turned around, hesitating on your next sentence you locked eyes with Nat and Steve wordlessly begging them for their help.
“Doll…” Bucky moved slowly near you, grabbing both of your hands, pulling you to look at him but, you couldn’t bear to look him in the eyes. Steve and Nat ushered Tony out of the kitchen with hushed whispers. A metal hand reached under your chin, lifting it and making you hold eye contact with Bucky. You open your mouth to start to try and explain but nothing comes out as tears slip down your cheeks. That was an answer enough for Bucky, to realize that the gashes and cuts on your face, the bruise that cascaded down your neck was him. “Did I…” Bucky’s eyes shifted to the floors, dropping your hands from his as he began to step back from you.
“Buck, honey it’s okay I’m okay,” you rushed out moving towards him, which only caused him to back himself up against the wall away from you. “It wasn’t you, this wasn’t your fault. You didn’t know how going there would affect you, no one could have predicted this.” As soon as those words slipped from your lips he was gone, rushing away from you.
_________________________
You didn’t see Bucky for the rest of the day, you decided to give him the space he needed, hoping that by the end of the night he would come back to you. Wait, that was all you were able to do. When dusk fell your day spent walled up in your room became unbearable, you slipped out of bed, letting your legs carry you to the living room of the compound where you found Steve. Sitting next to him startled him, causing him to look up at you with glossy bloodshot eyes.
“Steve, where’s Bucky?” you question, unsure why the soldier broke down in front of you. Mindlessly you wrapped your arms around him, cooing gently to him.
“He’s gone…” he muttered, “Bucky left this afternoon, to Wakanda.” Steve glanced up at you to see a play-by-play of your heart-shattering. “Shuri said she could get the Winter Soldier program out of him within some time, so he left.”
Wordlessly you curled into Steve’s arms, slowly realizing that the love of your life left you, without even saying goodbye or a promise of returning.
Finding Out That Their Career is Over
Haikyū!! Masterlist
Pairing(s): Oikawa Tōru x Gender Neutral! Reader
Warnings: Talk of knee injuries, angst,
A/N: Apparently, I just love giving Oikawa knee injuries.
Tumblr media
If the pain hadn’t been enough, here he was, stuck in a rehabilitation program. With a few more months, his knee was looking towards a recovery, or at least, that’s what the doctors had told him, at first.
   The pain was bearable, in his opinion. If he had his way, he’d have been back to the team, as soon as he’d recovered. But his doctors, nor his teammates would allow that. Most of all you, the lover who’d been with him, every step of the way, wouldn’t allow him to continue playing, until he was given an ‘okay’ by the doctors.
   Watching him shakily stand from the seat beside yours, in the doctor’s office, you allow him to gently grasp your shoulder, to stabilize himself. He’d only just gotten off of his crutches a month ago, and after four months of dealing with them, he was relieved.
   Tōru sends you a grateful smile, leaning over and gently kissing your temple, “Thank you, Y/N,” he whispers, moving his hand so he can place his arm gently over your shoulders, walking with him towards the office.
It had taken him a while to get used to putting some of his dependence on you. Tōru was an independent person. So getting used to having to place his hand on your shoulder to get up, to having to have you help him do mundane things like get up in the morning, to get into the shower, to get the bulky brace on, every morning... It was hard. He was trying to get used to it, he truly was. But going from an Olympic level athlete to, in his opinion, a below-average man who needed to depend on everyone around him, wasn't something that happened overnight.
Making it back to the room, you move to sit in the seat next to the small, plastic and paper encased bed where the patients were supposed to sit, while Tōru moves to take a seat on the bed. His legs hang over it, spread open a bit to allow his hands to rest in between his thighs, fingers picking lightly at his nails - a habit both of you had thought he'd dropped a long time ago.
Reaching over, you grasp the hand closest to you, giving it a gentle squeeze. Brown eyes shift to you and soften at the sight of your reassuring expression. Bringing your hand to his lips, he gently kisses each of your fingertips. "I love you."
   You tilt your head, "I love you too, Tōru."
The wait for the doctor to come in only worsened Tōru’s steadily growing anxiety. Long digits fiddle with the fabric that keeps his knee supported. If you hadn’t been there to hold his hand through it, you were sure he would have lost his mind, trying to just wait for the doctor to come in.
   Though the anxiety building up in you through the duration of your wait in that little room was nothing compared to the way your stomach dropped, when the doctor entered the room. His expression was near emotionless, despite the smile plastered on his old, wrinkled face.
   “My boy,” both you and Tōru visibly cringed at the display of unwanted familiarity. You’d both been in this office far too often, recently.
   “Hi, doc!” Despite his own worry, your husband manages to keep a clean face about things. “So, tell me: when am I due to return to volleyball?” He sat on the edge of the table, leaning forward in anticipation... Almost like a child might... You could only hope that there would be only good news, from here on in.
The hope that was filling his expression nearly broke your heart. He wanted to return to volleyball so badly. He deserved to go back. If only the universe wasn't so cruel.
   The mood of the room changed and the smile slipped from the doctor’s features. “My boy, I’m afraid I don’t think that will be possible.”
   Toru’s expression darkens, though it’s only for a moment. “That - That’s not true -... You and Dr.-”
   “While we thought a full recovery was possible,” the older man continues, “After reexamination, we’ve realized that your knee, while you will have the strength to walk again, without any pain, will never be able to handle the type of pressure that your jumps put on it. Even with how remarkable your recovery has gone, thus far... You shattered your patella, Señor Oikawa. You were lucky to have made the recovery you did, as quickly as you did.”
   You couldn’t breath for a moment, just staring at your husband. He’d worked to be on this team, doing what he loved, his entire life. It wasn’t fair that now he found himself not able to play. Watching the way emotions scattered through his features, you swallowed the lump in your throat. If the recovery hadn’t killed him, the grief of losing his entire career and livelihood might.
   Disbelief, anger, denial, terror... The all struck his features faster than he could stop them, leaving him not only feeling lost, but leaving him feeling vulnerable in front of this near stranger. And he hated feeling vulnerable.
But how could he stop these emotions? His whole world came to a stand-still. All of those nights he'd stayed away for hours, before coming home to find you having fallen asleep trying to wait up for him, dinner now cold, on the table; all of those weeks at different training camps, when he wouldn't get to see you for what felt like an eternity; all of those years of perfecting his techniques and making a name for himself... It was all for nothing.
   He wanted to leave. Now.
   Without a word, he shoves himself up from where he was seated, walking haphazardly towards the door. He’s swinging it open by the time you can stand up and take the steps to reach him. “Don’t touch me.” His voice holds a bite you weren’t used to as he turns his back towards you, walking... Or rather, limping, away from the room.
   You frown and turn to face the doctor, offering an apology and asking him to send the medical bill to your residence. Then, you take off after the tall male.
Making it to your car, you slide into the driver’s side, silent as you turn on the car. You don’t say anything until the car is running, “Tōru, you can’t just-”
“Why can’t I?” He snaps at you, shooting you a withering look, as if you were the cause of his injuries. “Why can’t I lose my temper? Please, give me a reason, Y/N. Please tell me why I can’t act the way I want to, when my life is in pieces."
"Since you seem to know so goddamn much, please tell me why I can't lose it. I've waited my entire life, only to fall just short of the Olympics? What good am I if I can't even do that?" Tōru wasn't made. It was upset, call it heart-broken, if you will. But all he could find himself doing was lashing out in anger, kicking his bad leg out to his the glovebox of your car.
Pain courses through his knee, making his let out a pained noise as he slowly sinks down into his seat. "I fucked it all up... I'm never gonna be..." He lets out a shaky breath. "I'm never going to make it. I should have fucking known, I-"
"Tōru, I love you, but shut up." Your tone makes watery eyes shift to you. "You are not going to sit here and tell yourself that you're useless and push me away." You grab his hand and lift it up, "You see these rings? Through hell and high water, Tōru. That's what we promised one another. You made it here. This is a setback, but it doesn't mean your career is over, with volleyball. Let's just... Go home. You can get mad, scream, hit the wall or something, whatever you need to. Then we can sit down and talk about what's next.
"I love you... You are going to make it through this. And I'm going to be here with you, every step of the way. Understood?"
Your husband lets out a shaky exhale, tears sliding down his cheeks. "I understand. I'm sorry I yelled at you," he slowly puts his head on your shoulder.
You could tell by the way his lip quivered that he was trying to hold it all in. But what good would that do?
Sliding back the center console you shift so he can lean into your embrace. No words are spoken as loud sobs begin to rip through his body. His lean form shakes against you as he cries. His sobs break your heart, though you couldn't imagine the pain he was in, at the moment.
His sobs didn't quiet for a while, in fact, as you soothed a hand through his soft hair, he only seemed to sob harder, almost as if he thought he'd disappointed you. Though, as he wore himself out, his sobs slowly quieted into soft whimpers. No matter if his sobs had quieted down or not, you weren't moving until he said something.
"I wanna go home."
That was all it took, before you were both back in your seats, on your way back to your shared home. You weren't sure how long it would take Tōru to be okay, again, or if he ever would be. But you'd fallen in love with him and made your vows. He's the love of your life and you promised that you would see him through it, to the end.
The Last Day
tw: mention of bloodshed, mental health struggles and alcohol.
*Not the last chapter dont worry, next will be last.
Chapter 9:
Eivor’s POV
I tend to reminisce on the past, my parents, Sigurd, the clan and the times when my family was whole. With the cold whip of the wind and the iridescent reflections in the sky, Norway will forever be my home. Even distant England holds a place within my heart as well as the family I built there. The answer to my hunger lies within myself and whether or not to go back to what I know or stay by the woman beside me. A choice between my honor and the person who I’ve grown to love the most. Though time keeps changing constantly, the recent past loops repeatedly in my head. These days I find myself staring at the walls, the ceiling and the emptiness around me. The dark realization that I have no purpose here, or do I? Life was peaceful but I missed the blade of my ax, I missed the bloodshed. I spent my whole life achieving greatness in what I knew, It was what I was bred for. There was an unspoken oath I took the day I was removed from my mother's womb.
A feeling of guilt always succeeded me, every passing day. What exactly I left behind and what the consequences would be. I have to remind myself that I would have died if It wasn’t for Y/n saving me. I understand now that the technologies that I have here were needed for my survival. Just herbs, alcohol and bandages wouldn’t have been enough to stop the life-threatening wounds I had. I was beaten, bruised and cut so badly I was nearly in a comatose state of mind. Even now, I still get flashbacks to that day and the fight. As a drengr, I’ve grown more and more cold to the idea of war and violence but there will always be something about that specific day. I can't seem to shake the feeling that it hasn’t ended and only more is to come.
Whilst I’ve been adjusting to modern life, I’ve turned to the bottle more times than I should. There have been days where I’ve fallen asleep on the couch, no recollection of even trying to get up yet I always wake up in bed with a blanket over my body. I can’t bear the thought of Y/n supporting me so I found honest work as a carpenter. With a few tweaks, I adjusted fine along with the help of co-workers and friends I made along the way. I feel I’ve become a shell of a being, the impact of everyday life burdens me. It’s not fun anymore, it's real and every day. The walk back home was loud and the people I found strange weren’t so odd anymore. I knew the truth within me, that I had become one of them too. I was almost always alone with my thoughts now that Y/n had started work again. Her hours tended to be late and tedious. She was the only thing keeping my sanity, everyday I drew a breath was for her. With the looks we shared, I wondered if she knew my real thoughts. My melancholic sulking was interrupted when a woman bumped shoulders with me and stopped me in my tracks. When I turned I recognized a familiar face waiting for me.
Reader’s POV
I was shocked when I came home, to say the least. The air was quiet, telling of the predicament I had placed myself in. I never thought I’d see Eivor and Valka sitting down together in my house. The silence was so loud, I couldn’t place my finger on exactly what but there was a feeling within me that knew why she was here. At first glance, she seemed unrecognizable but with a closer look, I recognized her right away. She looked almost the same with a more present-day twist to fit in. Faint freckles danced on her warm skin along with the intensity of her usual solemn expression. Her hair was pulled back and her eyebrows were as thick and beautiful as I remembered. She wore a light tan dress, she would never stray too far from her traditional taste. Valka wouldn’t have come this far for anything, a gut-wrenching feeling consumed me. I placed my belongings on a table near me and the three of us gathered around one another, the silence eating me alive.
“I want to make this as straightforward and honest as possible. We needed you then like we need Eivor now. Without you, Eivor would indefinitely no longer be with us. Ever since Eivor’s absence, the Danes and Saxons have grown only more divided.”
You could cut the tension in the room with a knife. Eivor had a worrisome look on her face, one that I had never seen before. Her eyes roamed around the room as If looking for some sort of distraction, maybe even a way out. I kept her sheltered here all this time and even though I’ve enjoyed every moment I still carry around a lot of guilt with me. The fact that I removed her from all that she knew tore me apart from the inside every day no matter how necessary. Perhaps, Eivor was meant to die there that day and her people’s fate was meant to be sealed. The realization that I could be in the process of ultimately changing the past suddenly struck me. Valka had more to say, a proposal I presumed to be made.
“If my visions are correct, Eivor is the key. My most recent discovery is that time changes throughout different realities and dimensions. It has been only a short amount of time for the both of you but It’s been years for us. Time passes slowly when maneuvering into the future but faster into the past.”
Everyone I met from the clan, I caused Eivor to completely leave them in the dark for years. I didn’t want to admit it but I knew exactly what Valka was getting at. These were Eivor’s last days with me if not the last day. As much as it pains me, she belongs in the past and I belong here. I screwed with time too much already, there are now two people out of place in the world. It’s almost as if Valka is an extraterrestrial being with the powers she holds and her ability to jump in between dimensions as if it were nothing. She had a natural aura about her almost like she could fit in anywhere she went and no one would have any suspicions. I've walked by Eivor’s side this entire time and I can't say the same for her. The road has been difficult and long, I can only imagine the toll it’s taking on her health.
The meeting with Valka was brief until she pulled only Eivor aside to talk to. I figured it wasn’t my business anyway since I was only one part of the story. As nosey as I was, I still tried to hold my breath to listen to their conversation but only whispers and mumbles could be heard. From the side of my peripheral vision, I saw Eivor and she looked stressed beyond all means. She was safe here and content whether she was happy or not and now she has one of the greatest burdens on her shoulders to deal with. A lump formed in my throat, I worried if there was still love between us at least on her end but it could just be my insecurities eating at me. For all, I know this is Eivor’s chance to be done with me and only I to be forgotten. Oh, but I could never forget her or the moments we share. Valka’s footsteps could be heard coming towards me as she came to say her farewells. When I stood up from my seat to make formal eye contact with her, I noticed her posture was straight and confident. I decided to keep my distance because I knew that I grew some sort of attachment to Valka as well. Not much could be said on my end, the decision is up to Eivor only.
Valka left and with her absence, the room grew eerily quiet. I couldn’t face Eivor, just seeing her face made me upset and wrapped in a whelm of emotions. Whenever the world became too much I always escaped outside. Like a coward, I ran towards the sliding door near the back of my apartment trying to hide my oncoming tears that were building up. The rays of the sun hit my skin and the sunset shone down on my face leaving a warm feeling on my cheeks. Tears started to roll down my face and I wiped it off with my shirt sleeve leaving a mess of a damp spot on the fabric. I felt selfish for crying, selfish because I never wanted someone all to myself so badly before. Being alone with my thoughts just caused me to feel them even more intensely, I allowed myself to be consumed by them. Suddenly, I heard what I knew was Eivor’s footsteps shuffling towards me. Quickly, I dried my tears and composed myself within a short time before Eivor stood close behind me.
“You don't have to hide it, I already can tell.”
I've had this moment a thousand times, the one where I try to look like I haven’t just bawled my eyes out. It never fails to completely embarrass me every time. When I turned around I noticed the sun beamed on her skin perfectly and every feature on her face could be seen clearly. She had her hair down, a relaxed look presuming she just got home not too long ago. Her eyebrows were pursed together as if she was studying me and trying to figure out what was on my mind. Eivor was like my guardian angel, always following me through my misfortunes and being my number one support. Truth be told, even if she went I was scared for her and if she could make it through this one. Her wounds were completely healed at this point, but I knew the damage it leaves on the mind is forever permanent.
She pulled me closer to her and wiped the wet spot on my cheek with her thumb. In her eyes, I could tell she was worried whether she admitted it or not. At the moment I catch her off guard her true feelings always show on her face and as soon as her eyes met mine she switched them off. I wanted to be honest with her and tell her my true feelings, how I felt about this situationship we involved ourselves in. My feelings had grown so strong since I met her and I realized I never once told her those three words. The more I tried to force words out of my mouth the more I felt the urge to cry again. Sure enough, tears started to fall down my eyes and my body kept telling me to let go of everything. Eivor brought me tightly into her chest and wrapped her arms around me, reluctant to release me. I heard her say something, mumbling under her breath. When I asked for reassurance as to what she said, she didn't hesitate or move.
“I love you.”
Eivor’s POV
The burden that's been placed upon my shoulders is a heavy one but I’m willing to face it. If I die going back I know that I’ll go in peace and with honor. Though it may have taken some time, I feel that Y/n understands that as well. Not to the degree that a drengr would but to the best of her abilities. She tried her best for me and I devote myself to trying my best for her. I was unsure of a lot of things in my life, but I knew no matter where this life led me that I wanted her there by my side. The sunlight was dying but the night was still young. Knowing it would be our last night here, we decided to savor it together. We did what we do best by getting wine drunk and cranked the volume on the speakers up so loud without a care of who was trying to sleep. The frown that was on her face earlier turned into smiles and laughs as she watched me attempt to dance. I always felt like I could have fun with her and be myself, not so serious all the time. She was a lightweight compared to me, already stumbling a little. Seeing her let loose was cute and showed me a side of her I haven’t seen before. I leaned in closer to her, truth be told she was looking extra sweet tonight. Her beauty was effortless and she didn’t even have to try to turn me on.
“Let me see you dance, I love to see you dance… Take you down another level and get you dancing with the devil.”
I placed my hands on her hips and she wrapped her arms around my shoulders. I did my best to lead her and sway with the music and It seems I was doing a good job once her cheerful eyes turned into a sultry spark. I pushed my torso closer to her, leaving that space between us no longer. A thousand intrusive thoughts crossed my mind, the most alluring one being that I could die right here and be happy. It’s the feeling moments before making love that is my favorite. My hands started to trace the outline of her body and my mind started to piece together what she looked like underneath the fabric from fond remembrance. Everything that brought me to her was worth it along with every obstacle in between. She leaned in to whisper in my ear and her voice had a noticeable nervous tremble.
“Take me with you…”
Reader’s POV
I said goodbye to everything I knew for the last time, this time the choice is mine willingly. Just a few months ago I would have never thought I’d be here and on my way to the place where it all happened. Where I met the love of my life and my impending future, the events that were to take place. The temperatures dropped so low at night, the bite of the cold felt bitter on my skin. Foolish me, I never take a cover-up anywhere I go. Luckily Eivor was close by and wrapped her jacket around me due to me being visibly upset by the weather. The cold never bothered her, I could feel the heat radiating from under her body when she hovered her arms over my shoulders to place her jacket. The stones were so close yet we hadn’t dared move within their reach. If I was to be honest with myself, I was nervous to go back. Perhaps, they would be upset with me for leaving so suddenly and taking Eivor along with me. It felt like just yesterday I was in England waiting for Eivor’s return by the ship dock.
Something within me felt like I was making the right decision and that this is the fate that was meant for me all along. Regardless of how twisted and strange it may be, I was ready. The entire time being here, Eivor constantly griped and moaned about how she missed home. For once, she was quiet. I always loved how expressive she tended to be with her face, studying everything like a hawk. She needn’t say much, I could tell what she was thinking about. Anxiety, sadness, and excitement all meshed together forming an array of emotions.
Eivor was a step ahead of me, venturing into the stone's embrace as I followed just behind her. Time seemed to pass more slowly, if not coming to a complete end. Throughout this whole experience, I realized that time wasn’t real. The people, the cultures and the history of the past all lived harmoniously with the present. It didn’t feel like I was traveling through time itself but rather visiting a different distant place on the same Earth. Families, lovers and enemies just the same as what we have today. Eivor’s hand met mine and there we held them together. The outline of the scars on the skin of her forehand and all that she endured in her life, a beautifully written story on her body could be felt. Eivor whispered something in her mother's tongue, something I couldn’t understand.
We both kneeled with our backs towards a tall large stone, huddled together with a cold and eerie feeling in the air. Eivor wrapped her arms around mine and we let whatever happened to be just that. I felt safe no matter where this life took me, I knew Eivor would be near. I was ready to live the remainder of my life with her in the past. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I thought of what our life was going to be like together and what our future held. Daydreams and fantasies that I wonder if she too thought of. Passing through a time portal was invisible, you could never really tell if you traveled or not. Something between reality and falsity merged, undetected by the universe itself. I closed my eyes and laid my head to rest in the crook of Eivors shoulder, letting my mind go blank.
'You're Mine' Demon!Oikawa x Princess!Reader [Chapter 1]
Genre: Smut, Fluff, Breeding Kink, Size Kink, Over stimulation, Manipulation
This Chapter doesn't have Smut yet. Though I'll only continue this if someone asks for more. I don't wanna write something nobody wants to read.
Tumblr media
It was a Dangerous World that they lived in, they all knew that. But despite the Danger that lurked around every corner, behind ever door; [F/N] [L/N], the Princess of Haikaru remained Innocent.
She had never crossed paths with Danger, had never experienced what it was like to lose something dear. The People of Haikaru purposely protected and shielded the Princess off from any sort of Darkness. She was their light, a light that they swore to Protect.
But of course, protecting her came with a major set back. Their walls less guarded from the Demons that lurked the night. But enough to keep them out. Well, most of them.
"Send him to the Dungeons, keep him out of sight and Lock him up as much as possible." The King, ordered his men.
"Yes, Sir." They voiced with a salute. "Move on your feet you Wretched Demon." One of the Soldiers kicked the said Demon, causing him to snarl out of annoyance.
"Now that's just rude." The horned Male barked out, his fangs showing.
"Move."
"Fine, fine~"
The Group of Guards surrounded the Demon, leading him slowly towards the entrance of the dungeons.
"Get in." One of them opened the door, shoving the Evil Entity inside. Soon after they entered as well, making sure to chain the Cyan Horned Man against the Single Wooden Pole. "This should keep you in place, Oikawa Tōru."
"Oh my, so you do know my Name? I'm quite flattered. Am I perhaps famous around here?"
"In your case yes. Yes you are. We've heard of what you've done to Humans like us. Demons should be banished, specifically a Demon as awful as you" And that was it, the last thing that the Group of Mortals said to the Beast. Leaving him alone in the empty open space, where only the chains that dug through his skin lay.
Oikawa moved his Left Arm slightly, hoping to snap the chains off with a bit of Magic. Only to be met by a sharp pain striking all throughout his body.
"Now, I wouldn't do that if I were you. These chains? They were made to keep Demons like you in place. To keep you from causing anymore trouble than you already have." The Royal turned on his heel. "You deserve to be treated like this."
Tumblr media
"Dad, what's in there?" [F/N] pointed towards the cellar, where 2 Guards stood against.
"My sweet Princess, there is no need to be curious about what is within the door. You must avoid that place, for you are not safe there." Her Father replied, patting her head softly while a smile.
"Alright Father" She nodded her head slowly, yet curiosity still lingered inside her thoughts.
Eventually when night began to fall, [F/N] snuck out of her Room. Descending down the nice tiled stairs to approach her destination. She made sure to avoid the soldiers who were put on nightly duty.
Peeking around the corner, she spotted the two guards who were put to stay in front of the door. To her luck, they've fallen asleep. And was on the floor crouching.
[F/N] approached the two, giving them a slight poke to make sure that they are indeed asleep before taking what seems to be the key to the room.
As soon as she unlocked the door, she pushed it open. Making sure that she wouldn't make a single sound in the progress.
From what her Father had said before, this place was dangerous. Yet as soon as she stepped into the so called 'dangerous' room. She wasn't expecting to be met by a Handsome man, straddled with chains around his body. His arms had burns including his neck.
Without much hesitation she shut the door behind her slowly and approached the stranger. "Oh my God..- Are you alright?"
The man slowly opened his eyes, lifting his chin up to meet [E/C] orbs. Oikawa's eyes slightly widened, the scent of the most purest mortal he has ever smelled rushed through his nostrils. Instinctively, he leaned forward, causing the chains to burn his arms a tad bit more. Tōru grunted from the pain, and was unable to Heal himself unless they were off.
He was expecting her to run, to scream as soon as she saw his horns. But what he didn't expect, was her leaning in to slightly brush her finger against them. "What.. What are these? They're so cool"
Oh my, he wasn't expecting any of this at all. His lips quirked up into a devilish smirk, his eyes darkened with the thought of how innocent this little Mortal was. He often went out to many Villages to capture, and redeem souls. Hunted and killed Mortals who stood in his way to feast on their Flesh. But not only does he feed off of flesh, he also feeds off of arousal.
And here he was, chained to the floor with a full course buffet standing before him, offering her concern and curiosity. He could capture her, take her back to the underworld where he will make her his. His to love, his to cherish, and his to claim. "They're my Horns [F/N], you like them?"
[F/N] nodded slowly, she didn't question the Horned man how he knew what her name was. Instead, she maneuvered her way over to the source of the chains, quickly disengaging them.
"What.. The.. -" Tōru felt the chains loosen around him, his eyes darting over to the Precious Girl he sought to claim. "Why.. Why did you do that?" He questioned.
"You seem like a good Demon so.. I thought.. Maybe my Father was wrong about you. Plus um.. It looked like the chains were preventing you from talking properly without wincing in pain"
'She truly is innocent. Fuck, I want her even more now' he stood up, brushing the dust off his legs before completely healing his wounds. "Is that so? You're quite an observant little thing aren't you? But have you ever heard of a Good Demon?"
[F/N] shook her head. "No, I've never even met one up until now"
'Seriously? They were trying to protect her from us? How pathetic, yet rewarding..'
"Oh, well the pleasure's all mine little one. I am Tōru Oikawa. Don't bother telling me your Name." He walked closer, expecting her to back away in fear that she had made the wrong choice. But once again he was proven wrong when she didn't move at all. Instead her eyes remained staring back into his. "How can I repay you Princess..~?"
"Become my Friend"
Oikawa was stunned, his mouth ajar as his eyes grew. "Excuse me? Could you, perhaps-- I don't know--- Repeat that?"
"I said.. Become my.. Friend. My Father doesn't let me go out of the Castle walls, and I don't really have Friends here. I mean I do get along with the people around here but they never really showed interest in trying to get to know me"
"I see.. So you want me, the King of the Underworld, to become your Friend?" Without much of a reply, [F/N] nodded her head vigorously.
"Alright then, I'll be your Friend Little One. I'll make sure to visit you once in a while in your room." Oikawa leaned forward and planted a kiss on her forehead. "Make sure to not tell anyone with our little Meet ups alright?"
"I won't, I promise.." [F/N]'s cheeks reddened a bit, not expecting to get a kiss on the forehead by the King of the Underworld himself.
But what she didn't know, was that the kiss contained more than just a Thank You. It was a way to tell the other Demons similar to him to back off as soon as they smelled her essence. With the invisible pendant forming on her forehead only for demons to admire, she was practically untouchable.
Days passed with Oikawa constantly visiting [F/N] in secret. Their Friendship growing into a much more passionate one. The lingering touches he dreamt of doing to her were kept at bay, fearing that he might ruin his only chance to claim her.
"Tōru?" [F/N] called out in a soft voice, she nudged her Demon friend on the shoulder a bit.
"Huh" His eyes widened slightly, being snapped out of his thoughts. "What is it?"
"You've been thinking for a while. What has you troubled?"
"Nothing, nothing at all." He slowly lets out a long, low sigh as he feels his hair through his fingers.
"Well, if you say s-"
A sudden knock came from the door, capturing both Tōru's and [F/N]'s attention. Her eyes widened in panic as she quickly got up, ushering Oikawa to leave before he was seen.
"Yes? I'm here!" She replied, her voice was soft and timid compared to her usual out going self.
"Is something wrong?" The knight asked from behind the door. "Your Father sent me here to accompany you. Apparently you've been more distant lately, spending most of your time in your room.. Is there.. Anything I could do to help?"
[F/N] slowly opened the door, peaking through to see who it was. And to her surprise, it was Iwaizumi Hajime. a Friend of hers from a far away village. The only Friend that her Father allowed to blossom. "H-Hajime-"
"I know, it's been a while hasn't it? [F/N]." He smiled ever so softly before staring back at the door that kept him from slinging his arms around her. "Mind if I get in?"
"Not at a- eep!" She stilled, feeling a pair of hands rest on either side of her waist. Slowly moving down to her core. She turned to look at Tōru who had a shit eating grin, obviously proud of the reaction he got from you. "Tōru.. Not now.. What are you doing.. -"
"Is someone there with you?" Iwaizumi asked with a concerned look on his face.
"N-NO- No, I was just startled. You haven't been in my room for.. Over 6 years y'know, and it's kind of overwhelming"
"R-Right... You're making me feel old [F/N]"
"That's because you are, blehhh" Hajime chuckled, forcefully pushing the door open with his strong arms.
"Alright, that's it you little trouble maker. I'm coming in whether you like it or not"
"NO- WAIT N-" She quickly turned to look at Tōru, but was met with an empty room. No trace of him but her bed and along with her other furniture.
Iwaizumi stepped in the room, chuckling at her childish actions. "You seriously can't be that embarrassed with me being here, are you?"
"Kind of... But um, apart from that. How's your Village? Everything alright?"
"Everything's been normal. Not to mention the Grand King hasn't visited us for over a week. It's quite a relief, yet terrifying." He walked further into the room, taking his helmet off with a Huff.
"I wonder why.." [F/N] mumbled out softly. Of course she knew why, she was the reason that Oikawa has been rarely seen out and about. He's always hanging out in her room, chatting, and laughing with her as if he wasn't some demonic entity. But at the end of the day, he's still the King of the Underworld. "How long are you gonna stay here for? Not that I want you to leave or anything"
"Maybe for a couple of days. You know, until you brighten up a bit."
"Haji, I'm okay I promise."
"You Promise?"
"Pinky Promise"
Hajime stared straight into her eyes with concern, but eventually sighed. "Fine, but if your Dad yells at me for not cheering you up? You're so in for it."
"Pfft, yeah, yeah" She quickly plopped herself beside Iwaizumi, slinging her arms around him with a cheerful smile. "I missed you"
He stuttered out a small 'Thank you' before wrapping his arms around her waist. His cheeks were painted pink as he dipped his head against her shoulder.
Little did the two know, a certain horned man was watching them, anger flowing all throughout his body as his fists clenched. She was supposed to be his, not that porcupines woman.
i've had no love like your love (from nobody)
number three! ao3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/28855644 Three times Julie borrows the phantoms' clothes + one time they borrow hers.
(1)
Okay. So Julie loves the studio. She does! Being in there makes her feel close to her mom. And it's where the boys hang out the most (although they'd been spending an increasing amount of time in the house now that Ray and Carlos are in the know).
But it gets so. Fucking. Cold. Especially on long winter nights. Sometimes she forgets that the studio is a glorified garage. Insulation? Never heard of her.
So it is on one such night that she finds herself there, shivering, but too stubborn and too distracted to make the journey inside to find a jumper. She's so close to finishing the lyrics to this song - she just needs to make some adjustments and then it'll be perfect. She wants to get it done before Luke and the others get home so she can show him. Them. But it's just not quite right yet.
Her concentration is rocked when a violent shiver rattles through body. With a deep, heartfelt sigh, she pushes away from her lyric book where it sits on top of the piano. Glancing around the room for any options - perhaps a blanket she can wrap around her shoulders, a stray sock, a particularly large leaf, she'll take anything - her eyes land on a puddle of pink fabric that had fallen off the side of the couch. With a quick smile, she strides over to it, pulling it on.
Alex, of course, is much taller and broader than her so it hangs down low, brushing her thighs, sleeves well and truly past her hands. She doesn't mind being so completely swallowed by the fabric though, because it's warm and it's been softened by age and wear. And it smells like Alex. Like laundry detergent and the beach and just a little bit of sweat. So she pulls the hood up around her face, containing her fraying braids.
She breathes in and out, revelling in the comfort it brings. The muscles of her shoulders, which had been tensed in concentration, relax. After a couple more breaths she sticks the tips of her fingers out of the sleeves - just enough to be functional.
She returns to the piano to continue her work. As she looks over at what she'd written, suddenly words fall into place. She begins scribbling furiously, new fire in her bones.
--
When the boys return, they are greeted by what appears to be a shapeless pink blob sitting on the piano bench and slumped against the lid. The only discernible feature is a mass of frizzy hair peeking out of the hood. Luke and Reggie snicker a little at the sight but Alex feels his heart swell to press at his ribs.
Moving towards her, he looks over his shoulder and jerks his head towards the couch. But the boys already know. They're folding it out into a bed. None of them want to disturb Julie if she's sleeping peacefully so it had become an unspoken agreement that she could just stay the night in the studio with them if that was where she happened to fall asleep.
Alex approaches Julie. Gently, he gathers her into his arms, manoeuvring her into a bridal carry, settling her head against his chest. She snuffles a bit but doesn't wake.
Slowly, he lowers her down onto the pull-out where Luke and Reggie have already laid themselves out. Julie stirs and rolls over to wrap her arms over Reggie's torso and rest her head on his stomach. Luke watches with a fond smile as Alex wiggles himself in place between Julie's other side and Luke. Alex places an easy hand on Julie's head (because he knows she finds it comforting) while Luke snakes his arm over Alex's waist to best use a space that was intended to only accommodate two but now is asked to fit four.
None of them mind being squished together. Julie sleeps peacefully until morning.
(2)
Julie is sad. A deep, aching sadness that made a home in her a long time ago. There are days that are better, where it doesn't hurt so much, the ache dulled, just barely pushing it's cold past the edges of her bones into the sinew and muscle. But some days it feels all-consuming. World-shattering. Some days she is struck anew with this paralysing grief. The feeling that nothing will ever be okay again.
Some days happen less often in recent times. Her phantoms, her boys, her family - they help. They can't rid her of the hurt and she wouldn't want them to. She never wants to not keenly feel the empty space where her mom used to be. She doesn't want to forget her. But the boys. They help that constant awareness to be filled by sweet remembering rather than bitter longing. But the bitter longing will always be there.
So sad doesn't quite encompass what she's feeling but it's a linguistic shortcut to express all of these things that she can't verbalise.
On this particular some day, Julie is sitting on the couch (Luke's couch) in her mama's studio, knees under chin. Her face feels numb. It's wet with absentminded tears - grief made manifest.
The cool stillness is broken by a ray of sunshine who calls out, "Julie?"
Reggie. Reggie is here, making the studio a bit brighter, a bit warmer. He turns around a little until he spots Julie, huddled as she is. "Julie! Are you all right?"
He rushes over to her, stopping short of actually touching her. Julie follows him with her eyes, unable to move any other part of her body.
"You're shivering." His voice is gentle.
"Am I?" Julie whispers.
"Yes," Reggie's eyebrows furrow together. "Are you cold?"
Julie shrugs. She's truly not sure.
"I - hang on." Quickly, he pulls his arms out of the sleeves of his leather jacket before draping it over her shoulders, bringing it around to her chin.
As the warmth of the jacket - Reggie's body heat - settles around her, she realises how chilled she had felt.  She draws in a long, deep breath, feeling the comfort of his smell and his big-brotherly presence settle around her, anchoring the jacket to her shoulders.
"Thank you, Reggie." Her voice is earnest and she finally turns her head to look at him.
He smiles just a little, creasing his ruddy cheeks. "Of course, Julie."
Julie moves closer to him, leaning her head against his collarbone. His arms come up automatically now that he'd been given permission. He pulls her in tight to his chest, rocking her slightly, humming a low, soothing tune.
Julie isn't okay. But she will be. In the meantime, her bones feel a bit warmer. And if she wears Reggie's jacket for the rest of the day, no one mentions it.
(3)
Just her fucking luck. Here she is, stuck in the school bathroom scrubbing lasagne out of her white shirt cause some kid wasn't watching where they were going. And Flynn isn't even here to help her 'cause she went and caught a cold.
She lets out a long, noisy sigh that is abruptly cut off when Luke poofs in beside her.
"Luke!" Her voice comes out as an undignified squeak and she quickly reigns it in as she darts her eyes around to check that all the stalls are unoccupied. Satisfied that they're alone, she returns her attention to the intruding ghost.
"You can't be here! This is the girls' bathroom."
"I - sorry I didn't mean t-- Julie, what happened to your shirt?" His eyebrows tugged together, giving him a puppy-like expression that Julie finds far too charming.
She looked down at her shirt, still covered in oil and tomato stains that are setting by the minute. Another long sigh leaves her mouth, leeching out some of her anxious frustration, leaving her feeling deflated. "This kid tripped over their own feet and spilt their lunch all over me."
"Are you okay?" His voice is gentle, concerned.
She shrugs back. "Yeah. Nothing's bruised except my ego. And maybe that kid's face where they hit the deck."
Luke's face relaxes a bit, eyes now dancing with mirth.
"Don't laugh! I don't have anything else to wear!"
"I'm not laughing!" he defends. "But, c'mon. You have to admit it's kinda funny."
Julie softens a bit. "Fine," she relents, "It's kinda funny. But that doesn't solve my problem!"
Luke nods very seriously, a thoughtful expression coming over his face. And then his expression clears, a small excited smile curling the corners of his lips. The kind of smile he gets when he solves a problem and he's proud of himself: toothy and bright. It's endearing.
"Here," he says, tugging his flannel off, leaving him in just his sleeveless tee. "You can wear this."
Julie looks at the proffered shirt for a moment. She feels some small but insistent something poking against the walls of her chest. "Th-thanks, Luke. You don't have to-"
"I want to," he interrupts. "I can't let you walk around covered in lunch. Besides, if you change into my shirt I can take yours home with me to soak the stain."
"I-," she's not quite sure what to say. So she settles on, "Thanks." A tender smile graces her lips. "Turn around then," she adds. "I'm not gonna get changed with you watching."
As soon as the words leave her mouth her cheeks begin to blaze with the unintended implications of her statement. Luke coughs awkwardly, cheeks a bit more rosy than usual, and quickly spins around.
As she quickly swaps shirts, buttoning up Luke's baggy flannel, she watches as his head tilts back and forth, studying the bathroom tiles on the wall with rapt attention and drumming his fingers against his legs.
"Okay. You can turn around now."
Luke turns to face her and smiles giddily at the way the sleeves fall past her fingertips and the hem settles just above her knees.
"It's a little big on you."
Julie scowls back at him good-naturedly. "I know. Just give me a sec."
He watches in fascination as Julie gathers up and knots the front corners of the shirt so it sits neatly at the top of her jeans. Then she starts trying to roll up the sleeves. Trying being the operative word. But it's a challenge because they're just so damn long.
"Here, let me," he interrupts, stepping into her space. She sucks in a breath.
"Oh. Um, sure." She holds out her arms to him and he begins rolling them up to a decent length, taking the time to make sure they're matching. She feels overwhelmed at the gentle brush of his fingers as they travel up her forearms. The contact sends shivering jolts of electricity along her skin as if a circuit had been completed, allowing energy to move freely between the undefinable start and the infinite end. She feels like she's about to vibrate out of her own skin.
"Good?" he checks once he's finished. His voice is low and soft.
Julie nods mutely.
He takes a step back to size her up and nods appreciatively. "Not too shabby, Jules."
"Um. Thanks!" she squeaks (again) - God, get it together, Molina - and looks at herself in the mirror.
Something about wearing Luke's flannel - skin-warmed and worn in, smelling like him - makes her feel safe and protected and cared for. Like he himself is draped across her shoulders and wrapping around her torso. Also, she looks good in it. Like it was made for her.
"It suits you." Luke interrupts her thoughts as he comes up behind her. They lock eyes through the mirror and Luke's curling smile returns, his eyes auroral.
"Yeah," she says. "It does."
The end-of-lunch bell trills harshly in her ear. Luke steps back, clearing his throat. "Cool. I'll - um -," he picks up the stained shirt, "I'll get this one home to soak."
"Thank you, Luke. I really appreciate it." Her chest feels pumped with helium.
He nods a little, smiling and looking up at her through his lashes. And poofs away.
(+1)
Julie hums contentedly as she toes off her shoes and drops her school bag on her bed. It had been a long, sweaty day at school to top off a long, sweaty week, the California heat having shown up with a vengeance.
She makes her way down to the studio, feeling lighter with the knowledge that she has the whole weekend ahead of her.
The heavy doors to the studio open at her urging. She breathes in deeply the green smell of plants and the metallic tang of guitar strings. And then stops. Blinks slowly and squints her eyes, trying to make sense of what's in front of her.
"Oh, hey, Julie!" Reggie greets her from his spot on the couch. He's leaning forward over a cross-legged Alex, who is seated on the ground, carefully twisting the long hair at the top of his head into braids. And Luke is sitting next to them, guitar across his lap, strumming it quietly. But none of this is what stops her in her tracks.
Alex is wearing what appears to be a mesh tie-dye top, Reggie's top proclaims that It was all a dream, and Luke's blue t-shirt is covered in familiar swirls of white. Those are her shirts. Her crop tops. Her eyes quickly skate across Alex and Reggie's stomachs but are quickly pulled away when Luke stands up, placing his guitar to the side.
"Julie! You're home!" Luke exclaims, a puppy dog smile across his face.
"You-You're." She can't quite get words out. The sight of his bared stomach has set her heart to stuttering in 6/8 time, a drumbeat that echoes through her skull.
She realises that her mouth has been hanging open. She snaps it shut.
"You're wearing my clothes." She's addressing all three of them but she's looking at Luke. Her eyes keep flicking down and then back up to his face. She can't help it. She would stop if she could. Luke definitely notices because his smile turns mischievous.
Alex speaks up, a concerned look on his face. "Yeah. I hope that's alright. It's just that it was really warm and we didn't really have anything to wear and-"
"Alex," Julie interrupts, finally coming to her senses and looking away from Luke, "It's fine. I was just surprised. Besides it's not like I haven't borrowed your clothes before."
"Exactly what I said!" Reggie exclaimed. His voice turns a bit milder now though, "And we all really missed you 'cause you've been so busy with school this week so…"
Julie feels tears spring to her eyes and she quickly scrubs them away. "I've missed you guys, too, Reg."
She looks across each of them, making sure not to dwell too long on Luke who's still standing, fiddling with the hem of his (her) shirt. An idea hits her and her eyebrows wiggle teasingly at them.
"Well, in the name of sharing and caring…" She walks across the room to where the boys keep their clothes. She picks up one of Luke's sleeveless t-shirts. Turning her back to them, she quickly exchanges her shirt for his, breathing a sigh of relief as the cool fabric settles around her.
When she turns back around she finds that Luke's mouth is hanging open slightly as if he simply forgot to close it. Alex and Reggie are grinning at him. If not for the way they are positioned it's clear that they would be exchanging knowing looks.
"What?" she shrugs, playing innocent but feeling vindicated.
Luke shakes his head jerkily. "N-nothing. I- nothing." He averts his eyes to the ground but his whole face is red and Julie is delighted to notice that it extends down his neck, under his shirt to his stomach. She presses her lips together to keep a hysterical laugh from bubbling out of her throat unbidden. Her eyes are stuck on Luke again.
Luke looks up at her and his eyes catch on hers. And oh, his eyes. If you asked her, she wouldn't quite be able to tell you the colour of them, despite the amount of time she'd spent looking into them over a microphone or a lyric book. Sometimes green, sometimes blue. Right now, wearing her shirt, they're a dazzling, drowning blue.
Reggie breaks the silence. "All done!" He ties off the end of Alex's second braid and pats the top of his head gently.
"Thanks, Reg," Alex says lightly, drawing Julie's attention. She's impressed with how well Reggie's done.
"Wow, Reg. Where did you learn to braid like that?"
He shrugs a little half-heartedly but his mouth is pulled into a bittersweet curve. "I used to braid my little sister's hair."
Julie nods, giving him a sympathetic look. A beat. "Can you do mine next?"
Reggie's smile broadens into something entirely sweet, the bitterness done away with. "Of course!"
And so Alex shuffles over so that she can take his spot cross-legged and leaning against Reggie's knees. Alex settles himself so that his back is against the cool concrete floor and his head is in Julie's lap. She starts scratching her nails through the short pieces of hair that didn’t make it into the braid.
Luke is still standing where he'd greeted Julie (although this is perhaps a generous term because anyone who knows Luke knows that staying still is not a skill of his and what he does when upright should not be classified as merely standing. Perhaps a better term would be wobbling. Or jittering.)
"C'm'ere," she says, patting the ground to the other side of her. Luke practically trips over himself to do as he's told. He sits next to her, stretching his legs out long, pressing his thigh against Julie's.
She places the hand that isn't occupied with Alex's hair atop her thigh, palm up, wiggling her fingers a little. She doesn't look at him but she's trying not to make life harder for Reggie whose tugging on her hair is ginger and slow.
But Luke seems to get the message. He links their hands together pulling them into his lap. Julie feels him trace a fingertip over each of her nails, brushing across the back of her hand, tugging on the ends of her bracelets. He holds her hand as if it contains the entire universe.
Here, connected to each of her boys, she feels safe. Each point of contact feels like a lifeline she hadn't known she needed.
"I love you guys."
And she does. She really, really does.
Chapter One: Unwelcome Start
        My feet are killing me and its hot and dark, I'm walking through unfamiliar woods. All I can smell is tree leaves decaying and pine. To fill you in without telling you my life story and having a pity party, I'm one of the few shifting Dire Wolves left. We are a dying breed since people and monsters were coexisting now, I'm over joyed about the mixing of the populations but as the wolves breed with humans our ability to shift is slowing leaving as the generations grow. I on the other hand wasn't liked by much of anyone. I grew up around old town human folk. Both parents had been killed by townsfolk and luckily the little who girl found me as a puppy was nice enough to bring me to her home. That little girl became my life. Her blonde hair reminded me of wheat in the fall and she smelled of old moth balls and freshly cooked bacon. Kasey was a lonely child born a bastard and then left alone when her mom left into town one day. She didn't come home that night. She had the kindest eyes. They say eyes are the window to the soul and hers was broken and glued back together so many times that you couldn't recognize her original beauty. She brought me to a little cabin back in the woods where I stayed with her and her grandmother.  I stayed out of school because at the time freaks weren't exactly normal. I learned everything through Kasey and her homework as I grew up. We played in the old field through the woods and down an old forgotten gravel road. She would always tease me about my ears but she loved my big bushy tail. Kasey was a pure soul and sometimes id have to remind her how special she was especially during the times to come. She became ill in late fall, losing her ability to walk and becoming more and more pale from the lack of sunlight. We were told she had an immune issue that couldn't be fix with the medicine we had then and magic was a cure but was also out of the question since anyone who was seen as a witch was seen as a harm to the community and burned at the stake. It wasn't that way in the big towns with lots of people coming and going bustling about, but down here in the boon dock of the forgotten swamp everyone had the same opinion. anything new and different was and and therefore had to be destroyed.
         When I was around six Kasey succumb to her unfortunate circumstances in her sleep and she took her welcome with her. I think that maybe it was one of the few mercies I've ever seen god do for someone. After she died the grandmother, already being on her last years, passed not long after that. With nothing holding me to that little shack in the woods I moved on. I was never given a name and so along the way I've figured out who and what I am. Remind me to tell you that one later on, I've been walking for a few days with my satchel made from rabbit fur with old shoe laces holding it together, Kasey in her better days stayed bored in her old pink bedroom reading the same book she had on the old bookcase in the living room. Her grandmother went to the market in town most days to sell her vegetables. she would bring us home sweets and toys. For Kasey's birthday she bought her a bag of fabric rabbit fur and some thread and needles to teach her to sew hoping that would cure her boredom. A few months before she passed, she hurriedly finished off the synch bag with one of her shoelaces from her boots. That bag is the one I have with me now. My clothes and few days worth of food is in it as well. I had been shifted into my wolf form going on 48 hours now and my (F/C favorite color ) fur was now stained with mud and leaves from the nights sleep in a dug out hole. The last sign of civilization was back in my home town. it was now night time again and had seen no sign of a town any where close. It was getting dark and my joints were burning from the pain of walking. I quickly found a soft spot in the ground digging up a little hole to lay in for the night. The woods around me creaked with shifting wood and wind rustling the foliage. Harry had become the governor a while back suddenly disappeared recently in his home base in Lunaris. That's where Kasey's grandmother went for hours everyday to be a part of the market so I decided to see if there was anywhere I could stay and maybe get a job and start a life for myself. All this time I had no real name, Kasey never named me. She wanted me to be able to choose it for myself and I'm now 20 in human years. Our bodies aged in human instead of dog years another kind of pro with the watering down of the generations. I had gone through all of Kasey's family and school friends, even people she heard the name of by passing by in church, I'd heard all the names and thought about them and said them all out loud the see how they role off the tongue and I finally settled on (Y/N) tonight.
      I had fallen asleep at some point and shifted back into human form curling around my bag to protect it from the outside. Suddenly the ground around me started to shake and the foliage covering the entrance to the den started to shake loose and fall in. At this point I'm wide awake and have my back to the wall and head in a snarl towards the entrance not knowing why or what had shaken the ground so harshly. I smell a fowl smell that reeks of something I've never smelled before. It began to burn my nose like alcohol or whatever grandma had in the wash rooms for spring cleaning. I heard twigs breaking and a long groan that howled with the wind. My heart was racing not knowing what to expect to come through the entrance and that's when I saw the light from the moon blocked by a large shadow. I braced for a fight when suddenly it let out a yelp of pain as I see two or three other shadows chase it to the right of the hole. Lots of yelling from men and women can be heard along with lots of new smells. All of them had hints of sweat and fear but some of them were odd. One was carried in on a breath of lavender and honey and the other of burnt wood like a fire place. One also smelled like chocolate and for a split second I smelled the familiar canine sent, Another wolf or maybe a half breed Lykan. I laid there and listened as the group seemed to quickly dominate whatever that creature was and if there's a group of hunters then there has to be a town. I wait for the noise to die out before I stick my head out of the hole to check my area. I look at the position of the moon and start to get a better idea of how long I was asleep. I think it must have been at least 3 in the morning. I grabbed my bag and pulled myself out of the hole, shaking off loose dirt and changing myself back into that big furry wolf I've become used to and walk towards where I heard the commotion to catch the scent of where they had gone. The creature they fought was dead on the ground covered in its black oozing blood. It looked like a genetic mutation of some kind gone very wrong and the smell almost could knock you out, if your a dog that is. I heard a snap of a twig in the distance and that's when I caught the scent of a dying summer, decaying flowers and dying memories.
      I see a blue glow coming from an object a few feet in front of me hidden in the darkness of the trees, whatever it was it made it very clear that I was unwelcome and that I was seen as a threat. I bent neck down feeling the hair along my spine start to stand on end as I snarled my teeth in the direction of the ominous blue glow. Suddenly the tense feeling in the air dropped, you could feel the tension melt away and in that second the strange creature pushes forward into the moonlight. A man with golden eyes and a mechanical arm moves forward looking with his hands raised. "My names Finnegan and I know you wont hurt me because your not just any wolf am I right?" The sudden question brushes me as weird and out of place but regardless it only makes me all the more persistent that he not come any closer. He stops in his tracks and sits in the tall grass he had been previously standing in. We sat there like that for what seems like forever and he seemed to feel talkative because he asked question after question. I looked around to think of what direction I wanted to go in order to get away from here .
     "You know it would be easier to go to Lunaris." he said picking at something under his nails. I look at him tilting my head, can he hear my thoughts? I didn't think humans could do such things but he didn't look like a human. Not with the fangs like that and those pointed ears. "No I'm not human I'm a vampire, I live in Lunaris with my friends. I actually have a Lykan friend as well so you wont be alone." I bent my ears back in annoyance, tired of the vamp imposing on my thoughts. I decided I would speak with him but not in this form. As a Lykan I could still stay able to protect myself and be able to speak to this other freak of nature in front of me. In order to do so I'd have to get away from this vampire long enough to cover myself. Almost instantly the vamp got up causing me to jump. "There's a graveyard a little ways from here, you can shift and change in the maintenance shed. As I'm sure you heard earlier there are some odd creatures in these woods so ill walk you to town myself. Then I can take you to Ezra and have him give you a once over." he began to walk and turned around about five feet away to ask if I was going to follow, I decide that this town might be a start to a weird series of events. We made our way through the woods to a small path of cleared trees and some sand, we followed that to the graveyard behind a large church like building and that's when I saw the small shed. "I'll stand behind the shed towards the woods I'm sure nobody is awake so you shouldn't have to worry about townsfolk." I shifted back into my Lykan form and hurry into the shed. My (hair length) (H/Color) hair fell over my face as I shoved myself into my tight jeans and put my long sleeve white shirt on. my ears still sat on the top of my head and my tail is swishing back and forth in anticipation of how this town was going to accept a new comer and a freak at that. I threw on the hoodie I had found hanging on a tree on my way out of my old town, probably left by one of the boys in the old town. I smoothed my fur down and walked out of the shed with my bag in my hands, I peaked my head around the corner and caught the golden eyes of the man called Finnegan as he's leaned against the shack with his arms crossed.
      I walk up to him with my arm wrapped around my bag and offered him the other. "My names (y/n), sorry about the weird introduction but I really just have no clue where I am or where I'm going." he grinned and studied me before opening up and talking again. "You cleanup really well don't you (y/n)." I simply lowered my head as a response and shrugged my shoulders. " It would suck to have to stay as wolf all the time because I'm just to ugly to look at as a Lykan." he laughs flashing his fangs and approaching me and taking my hand pulling me closer to him to where we were inches apart. "Ugly is one thing you aren't, if your this pretty as a Lykan then I cant wait to see you in human form" he then snuck his arm around my waist turning me around as he began to walk to the town. "How did you know I could do that?" I stopped him and I could see his grin form as he turned around to meet my eyes. "I've been alive a long time (y/n).  when the old man who sired me was alive he'd tell us stories of the dire wolves that lived in the forest in the mountains. He would tell us stories of how they had almost repopulated in a town not far from here, completely unannounced to the world growing among the town folk." he looked away suddenly his essence changed from one of wisdom and confidence to one of remorse and sadness. He began to walk once again motioning for me to follow. "That is until the townsfolk caught wind  of such rumors. He banded together the higher ups and went through exposing half the town to be," he grimaces as if saying the name leaves a sour taste in his mouth, "werewolves as the humans put it."  We had just made it through a small alley leading too a large stone road. This is the first time I've heard the real story aloud of what happened to my parents that day. Suddenly I  didn't feel much like talking anymore and the vampire noticed this as we made it to the closed up and dark market side of town. Large tents and shacks were on both sides of the road, I'm sure it looks much nicer when its open and bustling with people. "I'll have to show it to you." he says suddenly again answering my thoughts as if id said them aloud. "You know Finn I love your interest in me but I think its kind of of rude to read others thoughts right?" His eyes suddenly dart away and clears his throat, "Not if the person has particularly loud thoughts but I do see what you mean. Nasty habit it is, been aiming to fix that." We both laugh for a bit and then he heads for a door on the right side of the road raising his metal arm to touch the door. When his hand makes contact, Finn says a few words in another language and his arm burst to  life flowing with blue lights. The door makes a noise and a shield seams to lower into Finn's hand as he opens the door. He pulls me in and I'm immediately overwhelmed at the smells around me, some fragrant like perfumes and others dirty like burning wood. He had shelves of boxes and books, homemade spells and food with jars of candy lining the shelves.
     Finn puts the wards back up and leads me to the kitchen where he sits me down at the wooden table across from the couch and the wall covered in art work, "Wait here while I run upstairs and get the witch you just relax and think if anything hurts or needs to be looked at." with Finns vampy speed skills he vanishes up the stairs to get this so called witch, I certainly do hope I don't meet the same fate as my parents once did in this town years ago. I here rustling and movement up the stairs as a dark skinned man comes running to me with worried eyes and open arms. he cups my face in his hands and scans me over for any sign of blood or wounds. "Finnegan she looks alright, you made her out to be as if she'd been attacked." He looks back at Finn letting go of my face in order to hit him in the head just enough to scuffle his hair. He then turns around to me and straightens up his robe and his curly mop of hair, I hold out my hand to introduce myself and he grabs it with both hands pulling me in with a smile. "I'm Ezra and this my little spells and Knick knack shop." he has a strange contagious happiness that causes my worries and doubts to slip away. He rubs his hand through my hair making his way to my ears checking for ticks and mites since my ears are much different  from human ears. "Are you ok," He says we a worry filled smile and motions me to sit down, I obey as my feet have become numb after so many days of walking. He reaches into his shelves and pulls  out a kettle and a metal box of herbs and tea bags for homemade blends. "Go on love what happen? Why are you out in the woods at this hour?" I yawned in response of all their questions and simply said, "No disrespect Ezra but I'm exhausted and my feet are throbbing, I think the walking has caught up to me." He nods knowing what I mean. Ezra hands me a cup of tea and some cookies from a jar up in the cabinet. "Right I'm sorry. Let me help Finn out and I'll come back and run you a bath with herbs and salts to get you well rested and ready for tomorrow." He and Finn stepped to a hatch underneath the rug in Ezra's common quarters.  I took a few cookies sneaking them into my bag so that I can eat them later as well, they were ( favorite kind ) cookies and i couldn't resist the temptation to stuff my face.
        Finn calls my name waving as he disappears into the hole and Ezra closes it back up and covers it again. "Alright now to get you all set, come with me up stairs." I follow behind slowly hating every step up those stairs but it was well worth it when I made it. He had a big circle tub surrounded in stone, it looked to be able to fit two people and the water come up pretty high. The twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling were different shades of blue purple and pink with a magical blue flamed candle hanging on the wall in a glass case. The tub was filled with steaming water and flower petals, the room smelled of pine and mint with citrus chopped up into slices and dropped into the water. Bubbles had covered the top of the water like snow and smelled like lavender and honey. His bathroom was pure happiness and love expressed in his home. "Now this bath should help your muscles not be sore in the morning and it should help you fall asleep tonight, I hate to ask but should I check you for ticks or scratch's anywhere on you?" I shrugged as my body was still covered in fur and it could be hiding anything but I was so self conscious about my body that I wouldn't dare ask for his help with this task. I point my head down and hugged myself as if to comfort myself. Ezra looked at me with kind eyes and hands me a towel, "Its ok if you aren't comfortable with it, just promise me you'll come and let me take any off for you. They carry lime disease and other things that can harm you!" as he goes to grab the handle to leave I grab his arm. I muster up all the courage I can and whispered, "Can you stay and help me Ezra?" He smiles and blushes slightly, wrapping me in a hug, "of course!" He closes the door and stays turned around as I take my clothes that I have on now off and grab the robe from the wall and cover myself. "Alright your ok to look now." I say in a small voice. "Alright I'm gonna start with your legs and work my way up and after your done you can use my cats flea shampoo to make sure everything is clean and gone. I nod my head agreeing and let him begin, he rubs his soft hands over my paw pads massaging as he goes looking for any bumps or imperfections. He comes across a tick that had made itself at home on my inner thigh , he poked and prodded at it for a few minutes but it was resistant to all his attempts. "You know fur is great but I just don't think I could do a full body of it." He laughs and I return his joke with a giggle of my own. "Would it be easier if there was no fur?" I ask searching his face for his reaction.  At first he looks confused and he seemed to be racking his brain for what I could be saying. "Well I'm certainly not going to shave you if that's what your asking." he smiles and we both laugh. I trusted Ezra I didn't sense any type of misjudgment or threat coming from this simple witch.
     I began to shift into my human form and my leg grew smaller in his hand and the once thick course fur is now bare soft human skin. The robe that was a perfect fit before, is now hanging down off my shoulders. It draped around me like a sheet and Ezra had stayed quiet so far, only staring wide eyed and enchanted at the sight. My hair falls in front of my face as I smile at him, "Is that any better?" He's still not said a word so far, just staring at my face and rubbing my legs searching for the fur that was no longer there. "Now how did you do that? spell? hallucinations? Are you even a wolf?" He seems stunned and unsure of what to say, he did however have lots of questions some of which I could answer and others was searching for myself. We talked while taking the ticks that had made themselves at home on me off finally, burning them as he went. his hands glided over me like soap and his hands felt like heaven against my skin.  "I'm honestly stunned I didn't think of it before you told me, I remember in school they use to mention small things about dire wolves but they never dove into that chapter which I guess was because you guys were believed to have died out long ago. but behold!" he places some bubbles on my he'd and smiles so wide that his eyes look squinty. "your here1 So obviously the world didn't lose all of its beautiful one of a kind dire wolves." What a sweet happy minded guy, he seemed to only be able to see the silver lining and if he could see the other side of things then he hides his emotions very well. It didn't take much for the mud and dirt that was previously there to fall away into the soapy water. Ezra had gone to make himself a cup of tea and was waiting in his room for when I was done. My hair had been shampooed and I washed my body with the bar of soap sitting on the side of the tub. It was green and purple but see through, there was a small flower in the middle and there seemed to be small beads in the soap that came out as you washed. It smelled like roses and vanilla, the smell reminded me of Ezra. Soon I got out and dried myself off with the lavender towel Ezra had left behind, throwing the robe on and heading to where Ezra had said his room was. He had laid out a large t-shirt and a pair of women's shorts? I hadn't seen a women in here before and no-one had said anything about a wife or girlfriend ... maybe they were a friend of his, at least that's what I'm hoping. As soon as my head hit the soft feather pillow I drifted off into a deep sleep, filled with dreams of of cookies, flowers, and Ezra? oh, Finnigan as well. Seems I simply cant escape the happenings of tonight or the past. My memories slowly drift back to that little blonde haired girl I had loved once before.
(A/N) The picture at the top is of the characters mentioned in this from the game when the night comes. if you haven't read it You should defiantly take a look before you dive into this so that you can fall in love with the characters before reading other peoples interpretations of their personalities. I personally feel like I couldn't dream of reaching the level of dedication that the creator of the game had for their characters.
I also have a second chapter out on wattpad you can find it here.
Good Soldiers- Chapter 2/4
Remembering Yesterday’s Tomorrow (In the Here and Now), Part 4 Cont.
After hours of thinking, he has a plan. Not a good one, but this is Umbara he reminds himself, no plan is a good one, only some that have fewer casualties.
If he's honest with himself, he's not sure if this will have fewer casualties or not.
It occurs to him that he could just kill Krell (he refuses to even think of him as a General), and save everyone pain. As an idea it's extremely tempting. But if this is real — and he still has his doubts, but if it is— he needs to be smart. Can't let his uncertainty in his reality keep him from action. Otherwise, he knows he will get nowhere, knows that not being smart will get him a court-martial, or worse.
So, no. Killing Krell isn't an option, not at this point.
Getting dressed is something of an experience. He's done it hundreds of times, knows the motions by heart — almost on autopilot, which is his saving grace as he deals with the competing signals that say this is normal and this is wrong. He'd forgotten what it was like to have knees that didn't hurt with every step, forgotten how much smaller he was. Not that he has any shame over how he changed with the years, not the hair loss, or the aches, or the extra weight. He got old, was one of the few clones who did, and there's a lingering sense of guilt attached to that, but not shame.
It's with reluctance that he slips off his ring and carefully adds it to his tags around his neck. But it's for the best, he's already planning to change things, and the last thing he needs is to raise suspicion. Nor does he want to lose it in the field, where the odds of finding it in the crushing darkness of the planet are close to impossible.
For all that it's a simple band of steal, after two years of wearing it, he feels naked without it on his finger.
It's both hard and easy falling back into the role of clone captain; he catches himself at times about to say something, only to realize that what he wants to reference hasn't happened. Not yet. But at the same time, details are right there for him to grasp. Rules and battle strategies and conversations he hadn't known he had forgotten sit at the surface of his mind.
But there is nothing that can prepare him for the torrent of emotions he feels when he sees them again.
His brothers: alive and loud, cracking rude jokes and swapping the latest gossip.
Hardcase, who died on this planet doing the right thing because the right thing needed to be done.
Jesse, who inspires such a mix of emotions that Rex has to studiously not acknowledge them because once he does, he knows he won't be able to hold it together.
Dogma, headstrong and loyal, who Rex never saw again after he was taken away. Heartfelt sorrow rises when he thinks of the fate of his little brother.
Fives and Tup, and the tangled knot of guilt, pride, shame, and remorse that they illicit. Emotions he can't even look at obliquely, or they undo him. Not even to compartmentalize and examine later.
He's glad he has his bucket and the fraction of privacy it gives him. Especially as he makes his way to see Krell. He doesn't need refreshing on the orders to prep the troops, remembers having relayed them before he had fallen asleep. The clock is ticking. But he needs to know that he can trust his memory, trust in the reactions, and there is no better person to start with then Krell.
Being in the same room as the Besalisk makes his skin crawl, and the idea of showing him any inch of respect chafes. He stands at attention anyway; he has a part to play and will be damned if he makes things worse by blowing his cover.
The conversation goes down almost exactly as he remembers, with some changes. For one, it happens earlier, which means since he hasn't actually learned that they have cracked the Umbaran codes, he has to phrases the suggestion of using the Umbaran craft as a hypothetical — that he thinks they may be close to a breakthrough. The idea is met with all the disdain of the first time, the same feeling that the men aren't worth the mud on the Generals boots, and that the Captain is little better.
He's on his way out of the command center when the Besalisk offers one last parting blow.
"CT-7567, next time, I expect you to remove your helmet when speaking to a superior officer."
His teeth clench, and he forces himself to spit out an "Understood, General" in the most neutral voice he can manage without moving his jaw.
His blood boils all the way to the hanger, the knowledge that his memories (if that's what they indeed are) are reliable makes for a poor consolation to the dehumanization of being reduced to his number.
He tries to distract himself by running the plan over in his mind, but it feels too much like counting a casualty report before the end of a battle, daunting and setting himself up for heartbreak. So he switches tracks and focuses instead on just the next part in his plan: Getting his brothers on board.
Jesse, Hardcase and Fives — he is reasonably certain — will agree once they know that his goal is removing Krell from his position and stopping this massacre. Tup, he's aware, will take a little convincing, but the rookie has a solid head on his shoulders. Painfully shy at times, with a habit of letting others speak for — and over– him, but willing stand for what he believes in when push comes to shove.
The wildcard is Dogma (and even through his anger and nerves, he takes a moment to laugh to himself at comparing Dogma to a wild-anything). Loyal and honorable Dogma, who may not be as much of a rookie as Tup, but is still painfully young and so profoundly dedicated to the cause, he refuses to see the dark truth of the war.
It's a risk involving Dogma at all, and Rex wouldn't be surprised if he's reported for insubordination before the battle even starts. But the same something that told him to lean in and kiss Ahsoka on Endor, that told him it was his time to die, the instinct that told him that waking up wasn't a dream, is telling him that Dogma is important.
With no one else to bounce his idea off of, no experience in this specific situation to draw from, all he has is this gut feeling and the knowledge that last time, Dogma did what Rex couldn't and that it's not impossible to get the trooper to recognize the truth before it's too late.
He rounds the corner into the hanger and spots them. Instantly his hands tremble, and his breath shudders and the emotions associated with his brothers (so well buried by his anger at Krell that he had momentarily forgotten them) lodge themselves in his throat. He takes a second to compose himself because there is no way for him to face his brothers with his bucket on without arousing their suspicion. Pulling off his helmet and tucking it under his arm, Rex briefly lets his hand linger over the spot where his wedding ring rests against his chest, eyes closed, and centers himself, before plunging into the busy room.
He arrives a little late in the conversation, but it seems to have progressed the same without him. It's a relief and makes waiting for an opportunity to present itself easier.
"— 100 megaton yield. We won't even make it to the delta."
It Jesse who notices his arrival.
"Any news, Captain?"
Rex shakes his head.
"Afraid not. We are to proceed as planned."
Hardcase groans.
"Great, another suicide mission. The Capital is too well armed."
"Why does it seem like he has it out for clones?"
Tup punctuates his words with a wave of his wrench, addressing the group at large.
"I think you're all over reacting. Obviously, General Krell knows what he's doing."
Rex seizes his chance.
"That's what worries me."
He considers that he may have over-seized his chance because it's not just Dogma looking at him with open shock; he has everyone's attention. Hardcase looks equal parts proud and stunned, Jesse looks like he can't believe what he just heard, Tup is suddenly engrossed in the mechanics of the ship he's working on (but Rex can tell he's listening, he's holding the wrench backward and not really doing anything), and Dogma...
Dogma looks scandalized, but also curious.
Which...is better then Rex had hoped for.
Its Fives that concerns him, with his squint-eyed calculating look, like the Captain is a puzzle that he only just realized he's missing the pieces too. Concerning, because Rex knows how far this particular brother will go to chase a suspicion or put a mystery together.
If nothing else, it serves as a reminder to watch his words.
Hardcase, unsurprisingly, is the first to recover his voice.
"Care to elaborate?"
Rex opens his mouth, then hesitates, glancing around. The hanger is many things, open chief among them, and hardly the place for this conversation. There are too many people, too many ears around for his comfort — wants to smack himself for letting it happen in the open last time.
"Not here."
He leads them to the barracks, where they all settle in, exchanging glances when they think he can't see them (Fives hasn't taken his eyes of him once, and it's unnerving to be under such close scrutiny by this particular brother). Rex chooses to rest himself against the wall, crossing and uncrossing his arms before sighing deeply. Not sure how to start despite things going, so far, as planned.
"Well?" Jesse prompts.
"This is just talk, understand? If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and nothing will come of it." He's not, knows he isn't, but he's walking a fine line between plausible deniability and treason and is very aware which side his next words put him on.
Everyone nods, Dogma more to show his understanding then actual condoning of whatever is about to come out of his Captain's mouth, but Rex takes it as a good sign.
"I've had my suspicions for some time now that General Krell is no longer loyal to the Republic."
Chaos, absolute chaos, erupts as soon as the words leave his lips. He's not even sure who is saying what for a moment. Despite the pressing need for both time and discretion, he can't help the swell of fondness that rises as he takes in the scene: Hardcase's shouts that he knew it the whole time. Dogma and Fives who look to be gearing up for a fist fight, leaving Jesse and Tup torn between jumping in if need be to separate their brothers and staying out of it. Its familiar, and Rex never imagined that he would miss it.
It is also incredibly loud.
"OY!"
It would be laughable if the topic of conversation weren't so serious, with how quickly everyone settles down.
"Like I said, this is just talk."
Jesse snorts, leaning forward on his elbows.
"Big talk. What do you know?"
"I've been keeping an eye on his casualty counts, his strategies, his reports, and things don't add up."
Its a half-lie, he hadn't really heard or paid much about the General the first time, only the scuttlebutt that floated around the commanding officer's gossip network. But after Umbara, Rex had dug into the Generals history, read every report, counted every brother lost because of Krell, wondered how he could have been so blind.
"For someone who claims to be dedicated to ending the war in the name of the Republic, his strategies cost the GAR deeply in terms of both manpower and credits."
It goes without saying that the two, as far as the Republic is concerned, are essentially the same thing.
"That's what I've been saying!" Hardcase says from his bunk.
"But, " and Tup sounds horrified, looks it too. "The Generals a Jedi."
"They're still just people." Hardcase points out rather magnanimously.
From the corner of his eye, Rex can see Dogma shaking his head, eyes closed, a pained expression on his face.
He wants to go over, see how the trooper is doing because he knows what it's like to have your whole world view shaken to the core, but his attention is split as Jesse starts talking.
"So, what do we do?"
"It's obvious, isn't it?" Fives steps forward from where he had been leaning against the opposite wall, punctuating his words with his hands. "Krell has turned traitor and is killing brothers; we need to remove him."
Dogma shoots to his feet.
"What you're suggesting is treason."
"I'm being realistic."
The two advance on each other, voices rising with each passing second.
"You're planning a coup!"
"Against a General that knowingly sends his men out to die and undermine the entire cause of this army? Yes!"
Rex darts in, physically putting himself between the two, a hand on each man's chest.
"Fives, control yourself. Dogma, take a walk."
"Sir-"
"That's an order, Trooper!"
The air is tense as the two go eye to eye, and Rex sees the moment when Dogma realizes that the Captain isn't on his side, and for a second, Rex wonders if the trooper will listen.
"Yes, Sir."
It's spoken with more vitriol then Rex had known Dogma was capable of, hissed and quiet. Everyone watches in silence as he leaves the room, exchanging glances in shock, and looking to him for direction. Rex, suddenly drained, doesn't have the energy for a proper dismissal and vaguely waves everyone off, waits for everyone to shuffle out before burning his face in his hands.
That...could have gone better. Even so, he doesn't think Dogma will report him, but only time would tell what the fallout would bring.
He's on his way out of the barracks when he meets Fives at the door coming back in, who waits for the door to shut behind him before crossing his arms and putting on his "don't give me any karking shit" face.
The Captain's heart clenches. It was easy enough to ignore his emotions when there was more than one brother in the room. But like this, face to face with nowhere to retreat to, he can feel his mask cracking.
It must show too, because Fives goes from stern to worried, arms falling to his side.
"Are you alright, vod?"
He considers lying. Secrecy, especially in his position, is paramount. He dismisses the thought rather quickly, in part because he knows he's a horrible liar. Sure, he can pull off small parts on missions when required, but there is a very good reason he wasn't assigned to the Couricanti Guard. He can't bluff for the life of him, and not even nearly Forty years' life experience had changed that.
But it's not the only reason.
Messy, tangled emotions aside, this is Fives. One of the most loyal and trustworthy brothers he has ever had the honor to know.  Who has always put his brothers first, even in the most insane and ridiculous of situations. If there is anyone, anyone, that Rex could trust with his secret and not worry about being handed over for reconditioning, it would be him.
And he is incredibly tired. Not even a full day, and the weight of his secret has eaten away at him. He hasn't felt this alone since his first days on the run from the Empire — before he had found Wolffe and Gregor — surrounded by unknowns, hunted by people he considered family (they didn't stop being his brothers just because the chips were activated, and that knowledge had only made it worse).
He exhales a shuddering breath, tears threatening to spill down his cheeks, and wills himself to meet Fives gaze.
"No, I'm not."
Like that, the dam breaks and he buries his face in his hands. Distantly, he's aware of being led over to the nearest bunk and sat down, of Fives gently rubbing his back through the plastoid (it doesn't do much, but the gesture is nice). He's not sure how long he cries for, but when he's done, Fives silently hands him a rag, and he able to muster a weak smile in return.
After a moment, Fives speaks.
"Want to share?"
Rex hesitates, brain still a little foggy from crying, and mentally checks over what he can and shouldn't say.
"It's...complicated."
He tries his best, details what he can in broad strokes. The end of the war, the fact they lost, him going into hiding, joining the rebellion, his death, and waking back up. He doesn't mention the chips; it's neither the time nor the place to worry about them, and he knows the moment that Fives finds out about them, he would take on that responsibility too.
When he's done, Fives is silent for a few moments, elbows on his knees, fingers steepled and pressed against his mouth. When he does speak, he looks at the Captain.
"There's more, isn't there?"
Rex nods, and sighs.
"Yeah, a lot."
"How old were you when...?"
Fives trails off, and Rex isn't sure if it's because he doesn't want to say it or doesn't know how to phrase it kindly. But he knows what his brother is asking.
"When I died? Thirty-Nine."
His brother laughs.
"Should I start calling you Gramps?"
Rex groans, because if there is one thing he doesn't miss about the rebellion, it's that particular call sign, and gives Fives a playful shove.
"Respect your elders."
They grin at each other for a moment, but the light mood doesn't last.
"So, Krell's fallen?"
Rex nods, and Fives goes quiet once again. In the vacuum that the silence leaves, a question pushes to the front of Rex's mind. He's afraid to ask, not sure he wants to know the answer, but certain that he needs to.
"You believe me?"
"I don't know yet."
It hurts to hear, but he can't fault his brother, because he knows how crazy it sounds, and if the positions were reversed, Rex is sure he would feel much the same.
"But, " Fives continues, "I can see for myself that something isn't right with the General, and if you say that it's because he's a traitor, I believe you."
The ARC trooper squares his shoulders and looks at Rex, certainty and determination radiating off him.
"I'll follow your lead, Captain. What's the plan?"
Oblivious
Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: Peter had fallen hopelessly in love with you, but you were to oblivious to realize it
----
Peter Parker had a problem.
A big problem.
Somehow amongst all the craziness of becoming Spider-Man and the insane events that took place during homecoming. Peter had fallen crazy in love with his best friend.
He didn't know how it happened. He was so busy with being Spider-Man and when he wasn't he was doing homework or daydreaming about Liz. But once she had moved away and his duties as Spider-Man had calmed down he found himself hopelessly in love with you.
But he couldn't do anything about it.
Because you were his best friend.
And he didn't need to be a mind reader to know you only saw him as a friend and nothing more because of a little problem named...
"Jason," you sighed dreamily. Which recieved an eyeroll from MJ, who sat across from you at lunch. "I think he's probably the smartest and handsomest guy I've ever met."
"I don't think he's that great." Peter muttered.
"Oh please, you've been saying that for like months now." You rolled your eyes, "I supported your crush on Liz remember." You said poking him in the side.
Peter flinched and lightly pushed your hand away, "Yeah, I remember." He grumbled.
"Someone's grumpy. C'mon lighten up, you're my best friend, your opinion matters."
Peter felt a stab at the word friend, and struggled to put a smile on his face. Ned, knowing about his crush on you, noticed his discomfort and tried to pull your attention away from him.
"I thought I was your best friend." Ned asked 'offended'.
You laughed, "You and MJ are my best friends too, but Peter's basically family at this point."
Ouch. You just confirmed his worst nightmare. He had actually passed the friend zone.
Your words even caused MJ (Who obviously knew too) to glance at Peter to catch his reaction.
Peter put on a fake smile that he had learned to perfect after months of practicing and said, "You're right, sorry, you and Jason would be g-great together."
Peter's heart skipped a beat at the wide smile on your face, "Good because I've got some news." Peter noticed a blush rise to your cheeks. "Jason actually asked me out and we're going on a date next week."
"What!?" Peter practically yelled, causing a few people to glance back at your table.
"Whoa, calm down Pete." You looked at him in surprise, "Are you okay?"
"Ye-Yeah, I'm great, c-couldn't be better. So you're going out with Jason now. Everythings great, y-you're dating, g-great- and I, it's getting hot in here-I'm just- I think I'm gonna go now." Peter quickly rushed out of the cafeteria after grabbing his things.
"Oookay, that was like really weird, right?" You asked Ned and MJ.
"That kid is the definition of weird." MJ replied.
"I think I'm gonna go after him, I'll see you guys later." Ned rushed out following after Peter.
MJ put her bookmark in her book before closing it, "I'm gonna go too, I need to talk to Mr. Harrington. And by the way, you're the definition of oblivious." She said strolling out of lunch.
'Okay... what?'
~~
Peter had ran out of the cafeteria and into the bathroom which was thankfully empty. A few minutes later though, the door had opened and Ned walked in.
"Hey man, are you okay?" Ned asked as he looked at Peter who was leaning against the bathroom wall.
"No... It's just- why did it have to be Jason? I can't believe I thought that she might've liked me back, even if it was just a little bit."
"She still could, before you started liking her you just thought about her as a friend."
"Yeah, but she thinks of me as family, Ned."
"Maybe you should tell her how you feel."
"What! No, of course no-" Peter was cut off by the bell. "I'm just gonna go to class." Peter mumbled and walked out the door.
The day continued on but Peter was actively avoiding you and it was really starting to piss you off. You knew something was clearly wrong and it annoyed you that he wasn't saying what it was. One of the points of having friends is to be able to tell them why your upset.
You had continued to try to get his attention but once the final bell rang he was no where to be seen. Sighing, you walked home and texted him.
Then you texted him again.
And again.
But still no response.
It was now 6:00 as you stared down at your phone, you had left 22 messages for Peter and he left you on read.
That was your breaking point. You grabbed your coat and left your apartment and headed towards his. After the 15 minute walk you finally reached his place and knocked on Peter's door, anxiously waiting for it to open. It was then swung open by Peter himself but once he saw you he went to close it, but you shoved your foot between the door and the door frame.
"No, let me talk to you Peter."
A pained expression crossed Peter's face, "...Fine." He opened the door wider allowing you to get through.
You walked in and shut the door behind you, "Okay, what's your problem. You've been acting weird for months now and you were completely insane today. Why have you been avoiding me?"
Peter contemplated on how to answer the question, before he just shrugged, walking away to sit on the couch.
You followed after and stood in front of him,  "Peter that's not an answer, seriously, you're my best friend just tell me what's wrong."
Peter bit his lip, "...I just... You don't understand."
"Yes, so help me understand. Ever since Liz moved you started following me like a lost puppy so I just thought it was because you were sad or something, and of course I didn't mind so I just let it happen. But then you started getting impatient and annoyed with me everytime I.." You furrowed your eyebrows, beginning to make sense of everything. "Everytime I talked about Jason..." You slowed down, the pieces finally falling into place. "And then...today you freaked out after I told you about my date...Peter?" You looked up and found him staring at you with puppy eyes, silently begging for you to figure it out. "Do you..Do you l-like me?" You sat down on the couch in disbelief. He averted his gaze and stared down at his hands. His silence confirmed everything. "Oh Pete."
Peter inwardly cringed at the pity in your voice and felt his eyes beginning to water. He sniffled and you felt your heart breaking at the sight. You moved closer to him, "Peter, I love you so so much, but... w-we're fri-"
Peter shook his head, "Please don't say that word. I'm- I'm tired of hearing that word over and over again" Peter's voice cracked as the tears began to blur his vision. "I-I love being your friend and I still want us to be friends, b-but I h-hate being reminded that we c-can never be anything m-more."
You tentatively put your hand on his shoulder and felt him relax very slightly. All he wanted to do was cry with his best friend but what do you do when you're crying because of your best friend. You felt your own tears beginning to build and you put your arm around him. He finally broke and pulled you closer, he buried his face in the crook of your neck and you felt his hot tears on your skin as he sobbed. You ran your fingers in his hair, attempting to calm him down. You started crying with him.
He knew that you had just rejected him but it still felt so right to be with you. Peter hated it. He hated how much he cared and loved you right now. Of course the hate and pain would fade, but right now he just wanted to wallow in it.
"I-it's not f-fair." Peter croaked.
"I know Peter, I know."
But did you? Did you understand the pain of falling in love with your best friend, knowing they'd never feel the same. He would continue to see you and hang out with you and share the same inside jokes you've both been telling since you were in middle school.
Peter cried while you held him, eventually you both laid down and he fell asleep. Nothing mattered anymore except for Peter. Jason and your date next week stopped to matter all together. You've seen Peter upset before, but you were always able to make him feel better. But now, you didn't know how to fix this.
Your head was resting on a pillow that was against the arm of the couch and you began thinking about all the obvious signs that Peter liked you as you played with his hair. Of course he liked you all the stares you caught, all the times where he sat next to you instead of Ned or MJ, his blushing face and stuttering words. He was head over heels and you couldn't get it through your thick skull.
You really were the definition of oblivious.
Because I'm a baby when it comes to angst, there will be a second part.
Note
I don't know if you still do requests on the Humans are weird thing, but I've seen a serious lack of magic and superstitions being talked about. Like Wicca, witchcraft, illusionists, hypnotists, etc etc. What are your thoughts on it?
Honestly I’ve been so busy with life and everything I haven’t done a ton of writing for the public. I’ll talk more about it later and show you guys something I made ‘cause I’ve been bored. Until then, I hope you enjoy this new installment!
Also part 1 cause I don’t know limits when I see them.
(It’s not exactly what you asked for but honestly I couldn’t help myself. I’m a huge fantasy nerd and I usually only right fantasy so sorry if this isn’t what you wanted exactly. I’ll through it in in another part or something. Again, sorry.)
           Painflared up her leg, sending her mind into a frenzy. This couldn’t be happening.Something like this should be impossible. Why would this ever happen? Her brain tried its best to comprehend thesituation, but the pain kept her distracted. She pressed a hand against thewound, feeling the warm blood spread over her palm. A whimper filled the air asshe continued on. She had to survive.
           Aloud explosion sounded behind her. She glanced back, seeing fire and bodiesflying through the air. She sucked in a deep breath before turning back around.She had to survive.
           Somethingwhistled in the air above her. She barely had enough time to look up beforesomething exploded right next to her, sending her into unconsciousness.
           Xyliongulped as he pressed a button. He watched the suit come out of the wall. Heglanced over at Fredrick as he zipped up his suit. Human mason was currentlystripping down to his underwear while Human Isaac was struggling to put his legthrough the suit. Xylion exhaled before he grabbed his suit and began to put iton.
           Dattalionlanded next to Xylion, his eyes glazed over. Xylion couldn’t blame him. Theywere about to head out to a colony that had recently been attacked. No one knewwho attacked it, but there were a few groups suspected. Most of them wereenemies of the USL, but some said that a group of humans attacked the colony.
           Xyliondidn’t want to believe that one.
           Aftergetting his protective suit on, Xylion grabbed the helmet and walked outtowards the loading zone. The Freelorn had been assigned the duty of going inand helping clean things up. All the civilians had been picked up already andwere being cared for. The dead, however, had not been.
           Sicknesschurned Xylion’s stomach as he thought of it. They were in charge of cleaningup the dead bodies. This was not something Xylion had signed up for when hesigned up to be a part of the USL.
           Whenhe reached the loading zone, Xylion saw Human Jenny and Human Quinn standing byeach other, whispering in hushed tones. When Human Jenny saw Xylion, she gentlypatted Human Quinn’s shoulder before hurrying over to Xylion. She stopped infront of him, her face one of pure calm. “Are you alright?”
           Xylionshook his head. Human Jenny bit her lip, and it was then that Xylion noticedshe was hiding her distress. Xylion gently reached out to her and pulled heragainst him. Human Jenny whimpered as she held onto him. A few red feathersfluttered down in front of him as Dattalion landed next to him.
           Hisbest friend looked at Human Jenny with concern before looking at Xylion. “Isshe okay?” Dattalion mouthed.
           Xylionshook his head. Dattalion sighed, looking towards the doors. Captain Zellnorstood there, his face composed but his scales a deep blue. He was not doingwell either. By the time everyone who was tasked with going arrived, the moodhad not lifted one bit.
           CaptainZellnor opened a panel in the wall and typed in the password. Xylion watched asthe doors opened, revealing the decimated planet.
           Theground was scorched black, leaving nothing alive. Smoke still trailed up intothe air, and some ships flew around releasing water onto fires that were stillraging. Xylion sucked in a breath as he tightened his grip on Human Jenny.
           Shoutsrang through the air as people were carried around in stretchers. Human Jennymoved so she could see what was happening. Xylion gently rubbed her cheek asthey watched.
           CaptainZellnor suddenly stepped out, motioning for everyone to follow him. Xyliongently pulled Human Jenny off him, but kept her hand secured in his.
           Itwas time to do their job.
           Fredricksighed as he walked through the debris. The smell of charcoal and death stunghis nostrils, keeping a grimace on his face. Something crunched beneath him. Heglanced down to see his foot now caked in soot from a large branch. Well, itused to be a branch. Now it was just a huge piece of ash.
           Hemuttered a curse under his breath. “Welp, that sucks ass.” Isaac suddenly cutin, looking down at his foot.
           “Nokidding.” Fredrick agreed, shaking his foot off.
           Isaacattempted a laugh, but it died quicker than a bubble. The atmosphere held nopossibility for a single shred of joy to survive. There had been many deaths inthis area. Happiness could not exist so soon after.
           Fredrickran a hand across his face, almost knocking his glasses off in the process. He thenrubbed his nose, the stinging growing more intense. As he moved through therubble, something caught his eye.
           Itwas a strange shape, almost like a mountain range, yet curved. He stared at it,entranced. Isaac walked past him with Mason following slowly behind. It tookthem a few moments before they realized Fredrick wasn’t following them. “Freddie?You there?” Isaac suddenly said.
           Fredrickdidn’t answer him as he walked towards the figure. When he reached it, hegently knelt down, ignoring the black marks that began to cover his suit. Hishand reached towards the figure, and when he finally felt it, he knew exactlywhat it was.
           Flesh.
           Fredrickcarefully rolled the figure over onto their back. His eyes widened when he sawtheir face. It was a female, and a pretty one at that. She had tanned skin andher makeup was smudged. Freckles dotted her face, covering the bridge of hernose and the tops of her cheeks. His eyes followed her well-built nose to findher full lips. She had long black hair, with bangs chopped just above her archedeyebrows. Fredrick quickly turned his attention to check for any wounds. He sawdried blood staining her clothing, including scorch marks. Miraculously sheseemed relatively unharmed.
           “Itlooks like a bomb went off not too far from here.” Mason suddenly said, hisdeep voice startling Fredrick.
           Isaacmuttered a curse in Spanish. “How is this chicaalive?”
           Fredrickshrugged. “She seems relatively unhurt. Maybe the bomb detonated before she gothere?”
           “Thenwhy is she unconscious?” Isaac asked, raising an eyebrow at his friend.
           “Perhapsshock?”
           Isaacgently inspected the woman’s head. “No, that’s definitely a pretty bad cut underher hair. Not to mention the bruising that’s coming onto her forehead? Shebumped her head hard. The explosion threw her.” Fredrick gathered her into hisarms when Isaac motioned for him to. He gently lifted her up. Under her headwas a smooth rock covered in dried blood. Isaac nodded, tapping it. “She landedright on this rock. She’s still breathing, right?”
           Fredricknodded as he felt her warmth. His eyes fell back to her face. For someone sobadly injured, she looked so peaceful, almost as if she was simply asleep. Hegently held her closer to him. “We need to bring her back to the ship. She needsmedical attention, now. She may look alright, but we need to check to makesure.”
           “Youneed to take her, then. We have to continue looking. If she was missed, thenthere might be others.” Mason said, his dark gaze eyeing the remnants of theforest.
           Fredricknodded, his gaze once more falling to look at the woman’s face. Something abouther…he was mesmerized. But why?
           Flashesof Aubree suddenly filled his mind. What would she say? He quickly turned hisattention away from the woman and instead focused on the task at hand. He hadto get her medical attention.
           Thewalk back towards the Freelorn ship felt much longer than it did before. Everyso often Fredrick had to adjust the woman in his arms to ensure his arms didn’tgive out. Carrying a weight for an extended period always made him exhausted.
           Heonce again found himself looking down at her. His eyes slid from her face down toher neckline. There he saw a necklace. It had been obscured by her clothing beforebut had fallen out during the trek.
           Itwas three aquamarine crystals, all tied on a leather strap. Fredrick wanted totouch them, but he was unable to. His eyes trailed back up to her face. He almostdidn’t look away but was glad he did.
           Hehad almost walked them right into a lake. Not a normal one, either. One oflava.
           Great.
           Fredricksighed. He needed to stop being so enthralled with the mysterious beauty andinstead focus on getting to his ship safely, so she could live.
           Xylionloaded the crate onto the ship. One of their rewards for helping to clean theplanet up. He was lucky to have not stumbled upon a dead body. Human Jenny wasalso pleased with that. She was currently sitting on the ground, her headresting against one of the crates. Xylion sighed as he sat down next to her.
           “Areyou doing okay, Human Jenny?”
           HumanJenny looked at him. “You know I’ve told you to call me Jenny, right?”
           “It’sa formality thing.”
           “Youcall Freddie Fredrick, so why can’t you call me Jenny?” Human Jenny asked,pouting.
           Xylionfelt mucus begin to secrete from his pores. “It’s different with him.”
           “Howso?”
           “Wehad a little chat one day, and I just feel like I understand him.”
           HumanJenny suddenly leaned towards him. Xylion gulped as he felt her hot breath fanhis face. “And you don’t think we have a deeper connection than that, Xylion?”
           Xylionturned to face her. His eyes fell to her lips. Something sparked between them.The need to kiss her became the only thought in Xylion’s mind. They began tomove towards one another, almost like magnets. Xylion’s eyes fluttered closed.He felt her lips, and then-
           “HEY!”
           Thetwo leapt apart from one another, their eyes wide. Xylion quickly stood up,about to explain what was happening. However, no one was there. “Hello?” Xylionasked, looking around.
           Suddenly,Fredrick came through the doors. In his arms was a woman, her body coated indry blood and soot. “Where’s Dattalion?”
           Xylionimmediately rushed out the doors, crying out for Dattalion and Human Quinn. Bythe time he found them, Fredrick was already behind him. The two quickly helpedthe girl onto an operating table.
           HumanQuinn looked towards Xylion and Fredrick. “Okay, it’s time for you guys toleave.”
           “What?”Fredrick asked, his eyes wide.
           “Youheard me. We can’t have you guys getting in the way of anything.” Human Quinnsaid, her expression hard as she eyed them both.
           Xyliongently pulled Fredrick out of the room, allowing Human Quinn to shut the door.Fredrick stared at it sadly before leaning against the wall. Xylion watched himslide down it until he landed on the ground. He threw his head back and lookedup at the ceiling. Xylion saw the worry in his eyes. Fredrick groaned as hepulled his glasses off.
           “Fredrick,are you alright?” Xylion asked, moving towards his friend.
           Fredrickshook his head. “Something’s wrong with me, Xylion.”
           “Andwhat is that, exactly?”
           “I-Am I a bad person for thinking someone is attractive?”
           Xylionfrowned. “Of course not. Why would you think that?”
           “It’sjust…what with Aubree, I just- I just feel like me being attracted to thatwoman is a betrayal to her. I can see her now. She’d be sobbing if she foundout. She would say I’m a dirty cheater who deserves to rot in hell for the restof eternity.”
           Xyliondidn’t quite understand what hell was, but he knew what burning and eternitymeant. “Fredrick, that’s not true and you know it. Aubree would be happy to seethat you finally found someone. Even though you’ve never officially met her oranything. She would see it as an improvement to what you’ve been like in thepast. The fact that you can’t see that means that you just hate yourself toomuch. The hate and disgust you feel for yourself is not needed. You aren’tdoing anything wrong. I find people attractive all the time, and you don’t seeme cursing my entire being.”
           “Well,you never lost someone you were planning on spending the rest of your lifewith.” Fredrick countered.
           “That’strue, but I still know that being attracted to someone isn’t a bad thing. Maybethis is a sign that you’re ready to move on.”
           Fredrickdidn’t answer. He simply looked down, his eyes betraying the war of emotions hewas fighting. Xylion frowned. What would cheer Fredrick up?
           Xylionpulled out his communicator. He tried to remember everything he could about hisfriend. Suddenly, an event from what felt like forever ago popped into hishead. He quickly searched the band in his communicator. Xylion clicked thefirst song that came up.
           Acool voice flowed out of the speakers. Fredrick perked up, turning his head tothe sound. “Is that-“
           “AGrave Mistake by Ice Nine Kills.” Xylion read aloud, a smile on his face. “I rememberedyou like this band, but I find it strange that they are not screaming at us. Didthey finally let all their anger out or something?”
           “No,it’s just a different styling. Did you know this song is based off a horrormovie from earth?”
           Xylionperked up at the sound of talons on the ground. He looked up, blinking thesleep out of his eyes. Dattalion looked down at him. “She’s awake.”
           Fredrickjumped up. “She is?”
           Dattalionnodded. “She’s a bit disoriented right now, but I think it best we question heras soon as possible.”
           Fredrickstood up. “I can do it.”
           “Yousure?” Xylion asked.
           “Positive.”
           Xylionsighed, nodding. “We’ll be in there with you too.” Dattalion said, noddingtowards Fredrick.
           Allthree of them walked towards the door. As it opened, Xylion looked into theroom. The woman was partially sat up on the bed. She was hooked up to an IV anda heart rate monitor. Dattalion walked in. “She suffered multiple fractures, afew first-degree burns and a mild concussion. Other than that, she’s okay. Wehave her on the IV because she’s been fading in and out of consciousness and wewant to make sure she doesn’t dehydrate.”
           “Didyou get a DNA analysis?” Xylion asked, looking towards his best friend.
           Dattalionnodded. “Quinn is running it through the system as we speak.”
           Thewoman frowned. “Where- where am I?”
           Fredrickwalked towards her and sat down. “You’re aboard the Freelorn, a ship in theUSL.”
           “TheUSL? Are you serious?”
           “Yes.Can you please tell me your name and affiliation?”
           Thewoman looked down at her lap. Then, she nodded. “My name is Amaryllis Caligari,and I used to be a part of the Rebellion.”
           Xylionfrowned. “The what?”
Hey there! Long time no see! I know it’s been forever since I did anything on here, but I’ve been pretty busy with school. Junior year frickin’ sucks.
Anyhow.
A few updates on this series: the book on Wattpad has been updated a lot more. Why? I don’t know. Laziness probably. Anyways, there’s a good amount of chapters on there that haven’t been put on tumblr, so if you want to read that then go on ahead. The wattpad storyline is the big main one while stuff on tumblr will just be random updates. Except for this, actually. I have a great idea for where this will go.
Second thing, I love the sims a lot, and so I decided to make these characters in the sims. I can only make the humans, but I wanted to share them on tumblr too cause I already shared them on wattpad. Also I made Amaryllis too, so yeah.
