Hi! Thank you all for your lovely and caring asks and messages <3 My last few weeks were not very good - my pigeon Lidok, the one that my family considered a little miracle, our good-luck charm, passed away; my Dad is about to have surgery that keeps getting delayed, and I got a flu or whatever this irritating thing is. Plus Russia has been attacking us every other day, which really strains my nervous system. I'm sick of air raids.

But a lot of similar things happened to me before, and I guess I'm getting a little bit used to it. I'm now reacting with more melancholy and weary acceptance rather than driving myself crazy with grief and fear. This is probably progress - at least it feels better.

I haven't done any writing for these last two weeks, but today is the day I feel fine enough to go back to it and to make contact with the outside world in general, so here I am)) Thank you for waiting. I really can't wait to share the next chapter of ATLWETD, it's probably my favorite yet.

assuming they're from Maharashtra and they speak Marathi (and Hindi? i'm assuming most families know more than just one language) at home, what would he call his parents? and what would they call him and each other? I've heard "jaan" a lot but I'm not sure how accurate that is and whether that works for Marathi too. are there any other endearment terms they could use? like love, sunshine, darling etc in English.

also i've been wondering if there's any exclamations/expressions etc that can be used within English speech without making it sound unnatural. like in Arabic we say "basmala/mashallah" for good luck or "inshallah" when we hope that something happens etc and it's integrated in English speech very naturally. wondering if there's anything of that sort?

Okay imma go step by step here. In India, especially where I live (Maharashtra yay hehe) it's pretty normal to know like three or more languages. I myself— plus my family— speak Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati and Marwadi, and even though we can't speak them we understand Punjabi and Bengali. So you assume correctly that they speak more than one language at home. Especially my family, where we know a bunch of non Indian languages as well, for business purposes.

Assuming James is Maratha, he would call his mother Aai (pronounced Aa-ee) and his father Baba (Mum and Dad). I have this headcanon that when he wants to annoy them he calls them Matoshree and Pitashree lmao (formal terms for Mother and Father in Hindi/Sanskrit).

"Jaan" means "life", and it's pretty accurate even if it's Urdu tbh, a lot of parents call their kids stuff like jaan, hayat (which you already know the meaning of), laadli (darling in Hindi), maajha baal (my baby- Marathi). If you wanted nicknames in Marathi you'll be good to go with bubdi (bubba), laadkaa or laadki (darling in masc and fem), or sonpari (golden fairy, usually for girls) and Sonu (dear, used for children).

Exclamation sounds can be "arey!" (uh-ray) which is "hey!" and "aai ga!" (aa-ee guh) which is like "oh mother!". They're just one word each, but they can be used in like 50 different situations lmao. Arey can be used for calling someone's attention ("arey come here a second will you?"), to express frustration with someone ("areyyy, why are you like this?"), exasperation ("arey yaar!" yaar is slang for friend) and a bajillion other stuff. Aai ga is used as an exclamation mark for when you're surprised, or got hurt, and in place of "oh God!". We don't have specific phrases that mean good luck or inshallah, but Urdu still uses both mashallah and inshallah so you'll be okay i think. But James probably wouldn't use them bc he's not a Muslim yk, and Hindu people usually use the name of the god they're praying on on swearing on, so there's that. We say stuff like "hay bhagwan" ("oh, Vishnu". Bhagwan is one of the innumerable names of the Lord Vishnu). Or "har har Mahadev" ("glory be to Lord Shiva". Maha-dev literally translates to Great God, but it is one of the well known names of the God of Destruction). We do use "arey deva" (oh god) as well. "Jai shree Ram"(hail to the Lord Ram) or "jai shree krishna" or "jai shree ganpati" (ganpati is what most marathi people call Lord Ganesha) is used when we're beginning something and we want to make the start auspicious. The phrases are kind of used as "may this go well and end well" ykwim? This is hard to explain I hope you get what i wanna say lol.

i wanted to say that im sorry i havent been as active! idk what it is, but my mental health has been struggling lately? i hope its okay to vent/explain a little, if the topics make you uncomfortable, please feel free to skip to the next paragraph! but yeah idk ive just been very self-conscious and i feel like past habits are resurfacing. im trying to not actively partake in my eating disorder, but it's been very hard to resist lately. im definitely trying be different and handle things better. my main focus lately is to engage in some positive affirmations and try to not break my streak of no self-harm (im 549 days clean!!!) 🎉

Alright so a small disclaimer: I live in a REALLY homophobic country and I have an old school dad so I am trying to look the straightest I can (It works)

So I remember first meeting her during German since this was the only class we shared... HOWEVER it turns out that she knew everyone from my friend group (bcs they were in the same middle school and I wasn't) so we ended up becoming a big group which consists of me, my friends, her and her 2 besties (which i call the buff one and the basketball girl) We would all hang out a lot in and outside of school so I was able to get to know them and also that's how I realised I liked her (if you want to know something more about her lmk) There wasn't really any chemistry or sumn until the school year that just passed. Me and her ended up being in the same major subject classes and (once again) German. At first I would be sitting alone in the front so I could focus (I'd always doodle) until one day she said that she was annoyed by her seatmate so she asked me to sit next to me (UM YES?!?!?!?). Also at a friend's birthday, we went at an arcade so I decided to try the claw machines. I remember winning a pink cat which I would tell the others "this is my child" and somehow the girl showed an interest and was like "since you are the mother of the cat, may i be the father ;)" (AAAAAAAA)(I know ot sounds silly but i am giving no fucks rn) When I was starting to show a lot of interest and was preparing to confess she became distant and got back to her old seatmate + she would ignore me a lot at group hangouts... But well after a lot of bullshit happening during may (i pick the bear) she would be concerned about my physical and mental stability to the point she was a bit protective? Oh well during exams we got a bit distant (again) due to studying... (Oof that's a lot you'll take this while I'm making the second part)

about the story: tbh i've been suffering with writer's block for the past few months, which is why i didn't start the story earlier 😭 but now i've come to a realization that i really want to write something, and i'll only feel more stuck if i don't write at all - so i started putting some words on a page and that was it! my writer's block was done for! i have a little sneak peak for you too!!

He was dressed in more casual garb than the day before, yet his wide hat still sat atop his head. Three soldiers knelt before him, the apparent victims of his anger that morning. His arms were folded across his chest menacingly, and his beautiful features were twisted into a tight frown. In the light, you could make out thin, purple strands that were nested among his deep blue hair, a detail you hadn't noticed during the inauguration ceremony.

it's not a lot, but i didn't want to spoil too much 😭 i'm thinking of just writing, and debuting the first few chapters on scara's important days! like the first chapter will be released on his character teaser, second for his demo, etc. lmk what you think about that!

Of course! I’ll do my best to keep that in mind. I do agree though, most of the time it feels quite lonely in tumblr. I try to socialize with people once In a while but they never seem to get in touch. It’s understandable though, they have a life to live at the fullest!

But no rush when writing about the story! Take your time and even take breaks when you’re facing writers block. It’s a huge pain to deal with, I can relate to not gaining any motivation or feel like there’s a flaw in my writing. My ideas just…die out in the process of making them y’know? EITHER WAY YOUR STORY IS GOING GREAT! I’m really excited to see what’s in store for the future. Though, I can see where you’re coming from and I think it’s a good idea to release the first chapter and so on in days like those! Might make him feel special. 🤝

I’m really thankful to have Childe since he’s one of my favorite characters (comfort as well), and just having him by my side is enough. I only need to pair him up with scara as the harbinger team and hopefully I can collect more in the future! (Such as Sandrone, columbina..) I wish you luck on his banner, though I doubt I’ll get him quickly. I’m not even guaranteed and I’m so nervous about that 😞. I’ve started saving up since that Zhongli rerun, and I’m glad I had enough wishes to wait for when scaramouche finally releases! Yeah! I draw, however I only make sketches on my notebook since I don’t have enough money to purchase anything to draw digitally. More importantly I’d go insane if it were traditional art. There’s just too many hours to work on something and they get ruined by a margin. Not only that but I get art block 24/7. I used to have a side account for my art but I deleted it ever since, just felt like it wasn’t necessary or my drawings were plain and boring. But I’m glad you’re doing great drawing digitally! You should share some of your art with me sometime. <3

Aw, that’s a shame though. Many of my comrades/acquaintances either don’t play Genshin anymore, or just play in a different server. Most of the time I only co-op in bosses since I feel like it’s very interesting and fun to keep me occupied! But now that I know you’re in NA, I’m very excited.
