"Oh, great. Well, at least if I have to deal with one of you guys, it's just to beat you around for a while...I'll think of it as stress relief."
Tumblr media
"Hah. You speak as though I would make it easy for you to do so, Pythius...you should be careful, or that ego of yours will be what decides your loss."
Pythius: The Demon Prince of Liars and Dishonesty. Considered to be one of the most dangerous of the princes to cross, due to his utterly ruthless and precise fighting style. In his normal form, he's agile, and moves tend to look just as beautiful as they are deadly. Dual short swords are used more like an extension of his own arm, as-- even if his movement speed is average-- he would be the type of ridiculous boss character that weaves a 12 hit combo on the regular, so you have to dodge around like an idiot for a full minute before getting two seconds to strike back. Definitely "battle of attrition" vibes going on there, despite not really taking damage well in this form.
Generally he tries not to shift when he's fighting unless it's serious, but when he does, he transforms into what is pretty much a giant croco-dragon. Switches up the darkness based magics he'll use in his normal form, to snipe at his opponent with water when they're too far away for him to hit. Loses the grace of his normal fighting style if he's outside the water like this, but makes up for it in the sheer power boost he gains from it, as well as the boost in defenses he gets from the armor-like plates that cover his body. In the water? His opponent is pretty much as good as dead, at that point.
Sarakael: Also very much a "battle of attrition" type of vibe to him. He's one of the most skilled in battle out of his siblings, and because of his offensive prowess, a lot of fights against him don't last long. Like...Py has 12 hit combos, yeah? Sara fights with a lance, but pulls off moves similar to this type of bs. Can take a hit just as well as he can dish them out, but if he's knocked down, it takes him a bit to recover fully, which gives his opponent an opening to exploit.
He uses divine light to make larger copies of his lance, and rain them down over his opponent across a wide area. Will use a burst type attack with the same type of magic if his opponent is close, and starting to overwhelm him. This usually gives enough force to not only protect him from blows coming at him at the time of the burst, but will knock his opponent back a good few yards...and good luck if it knocks them into the air, because that's exactly when he'll whip out one of those ridiculous combo moves to finish the fight fast.

PSA: That thing you're writing that doesn't fit someone else's headcanons? Write it anyway.
That thing you wrote and, oh no, someone made a tumblr post that says that characterizations like yours are incorrect, and now you feel like you wrote something "wrong." You didn't. You had a different opinion, consciously or not. You're allowed.
That random word someone says no one should ever use in a story but you kind of want to use it? Use it. (Like sometimes "chuckle" really is the best word for the specific laugh you're describing. Specific words exist to do specific jobs. If the best word for the job is "moist," use fucking "moist.")
I spent a lot of time being concerned about random rules that aren't even real rules, and it's not worth it. You aren't writing something wrong because you have a different opinion on a character or because you like a trope someone else doesn't like.
And most writing rules (yep! even grammar!) can and should be broken if it's effective in the situation. Yes, stories should be reader-friendly, and rules broken for emphasis should be used sparingly, but you HAVE to experiment to get a feel for where the sweet spot is. And! That sweet spot is going to vary based on what you write and who you are writing it for.
Let yourself write the thing you want to write the way you want to write it. Let yourself get a little weird in a lot of ways. Most importantly, do what is FUN for you or what's the fucking point?

Why did Apollo favor the trojans in the Illiad?
So, dear Anon, I've been thinking about how to answer this question since I got it a couple days ago and I think I kind of want to make something clear before I get into it.
The Iliad by itself as a poem only covers some of the events that occur in the final year of a long protracted conflict that had been brewing for at least two decades and was an active war for ten. Within the space of the Iliad itself, the motivations and affairs of the major players are often referenced but there are many, many parts of the story that are not there because they belong to a different story cycle that has been since lost or was never recorded with words. In the space of the Iliad Apollo's motivations are questioned a lot - his pride is questioned by Poseidon who thinks Apollo should be just as angry at the Trojans as he considering Apollo was treated equally as poorly by Laomedon while they worked together. His honour is questioned by Hera who chastises him for taking the Trojans' side when he'd proclaimed that Achilles would live a long life and prosper at Thetis and Peleus' wedding. His own sister calls him a coward for refusing to fight when Zeus gives permission for the gods to go wild on the battlefield. For all that there's this image of Apollo in the Iliad as some staunch and unwavering protector of the Trojans, believe it or not, I largely think of Apollo as neutral in the war.
Which, I suppose, comes back to the question - why did Apollo favour the Trojans? The truthful answer is that I don't know. The Iliad and all its connected stories isn't something I've done enough research on to have an answer or a reference to an answer off the top of my head. The reasoning I'm aware of is that Apollo was a Patron God of Troy and really a god doesn't need any reason besides that to protect his people but it's not like Apollo abandoned the Greeks either. Calchas is the biggest example of that I can point to - descended directly from a priest of Apollo and one who attributed his mantic power to the god, Calchas was pivotal in ensuring the Greeks even got to Troy in the first place.
From a personal perspective however, I think Apollo was more dedicated to the house of Priam than he was the city of Troy itself. Apollo's affection for that house and all its members ran deep - from his admiration of Hecuba and Hector to his love and attempted courtship of Cassandra to his blessings given to Helenus, Deiphobos, Cassandra, Troilus and even his partnership with Paris - Apollo loved the house of Priam. When you think about the times Apollo lashes out against the Greeks, it's generally because they've done some nonsense to earn his ire. The plague was caused by Agamemnon disrespecting his priest, his aid in the slaughter of Patroclus was because he didn't respect him, his minor grudge against Diomedes too was because he tried to test Apollo's mettle and well, the less said about Achilles the better. Apart from his obvious favouring of Hector in the skirmishes, Apollo doesn't really oppose the Greeks. He has a ton of reasons to by the time the Iliad rolls around, including avenging the death of two of his sons, but he remains mostly satisfied with conducting his father's business and overseeing the war from a somewhat professional perspective. To me, it's always been less about Apollo caring about the fate of Troy as a city itself and more about him just really wanting to protect the people in the city that he's come to love and respect.
Of course, I encourage you to take my words with a big tablespoon of salt - like I said, I don't really know enough about the facts in particular to give a solid, confident answer but I can give you my interpretation of it. Maybe consult someone like @littlesparklight for a more comprehensive and grounded response 🤔

I imagine both drifter and bobby are somewhat desensitized of death. Bobby more so cares less of corpses and sees them more as things to loot, while drifter is somewhat numb to the ticking timer he's in (he makes off handed jokes about himself that sounds slightly concerning). Drifter still respects the dead and what theyve left behind, thinking that borrowing their weapons as some sort of relief for the dead (Quirrel's words ;u;). "Borrowing", because he knows well it will be used by others when these things outlives him, and hes ok with it. (He also believes that a tool that still serves its functions has no reason to go unused)
Bobby is a loud and proud jerk, and drifter rattled that concept simply by just being himself, unexpectant on how it would affect bobby. While he had been familiar of death, he never properly grasped the concept of losing someone he truly loved.
And he doesnt know how to deal with it.

GOTCHA double whammy. heres designs for discord AND the princesses. im not certain yet what title the two sisters share in this AU but its definitely not princess.
what i DO know for sure is that these alicorn rulers are the only two of their kind: nopony else has the ability to control extraterrestrials like the sun and moon. Nopony can remember how they came to have wings and a horn, either. For as long as Equestria can remember, it's been governed by the gracefulness of Celestia and Luna, and while the rest of the world may not see the alicorns as their leader, they are undeniably gods for their control over night and day.
discord, still the lord of chaos, is the last of his kind. draconequui reigned over the world before ponykind even existed, until a tragic event that led to their extinction wiped them all out. In an effort to preserve their knowledge and power, they gave it all to an infant Discord. The high concentration of draconequui magic resulted in unfathomable power in Discord’s hands that he had to learn to wield. Surviving the end of the world and seeing Ponykind start to rebuild, Discord was adopted by a generous pony couple and lived a fairly normal childhood, except for his godlike powers and odd appearance. When he grew older and discovered the true fate of his species, he couldn’t cope with the knowledge, choosing instead to wreak havoc on the world to try and find catharsis, ultimately attracting the alicorn sisters’ attention and resulting in his petrification.

The Mario movie was cute, best scenes are the ones with the bros just being. Bros.
Tumblr media
Peppino is their cousin. That's it, that's the funny.
And per tradition? I guess? Some more (unfortunately Mario-less) doodles under the cut.
Tumblr media
... Yeah. Twinsomnia again. These damn sibs are still on my brain. They're here to - Oh? Oh, Peppino's not a kid? They had the wrong address? Oh well. Might as well help him get through the tower!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something-something functioning as a single character, something-something throwing each other around, something-something basically Gus and Brick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some more self-indulgent crossover'ish nonsense...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same mirror, same man, different time, different reflections. Shoutout to @/rascal-rose for the idea of young Peppino having curly hair!! I cherish him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And some wholesome stuff to top it off. (I feel like my handwriting is especially bad on the last one, so just in case, it goes "Buongiorno, ranocchio. Do you want the coffee?".)

Claudia's depression era print dresses
During the great depression, cost-cutting manufacturers simplified designs but used colorful prints usually on a functional but inexpensive fabric such as cotton or muslin, which also allowed for increased practicality and durability as women took on increasing workload during the economic hardship. Claudia is seen wearing various types of print in the mid to late 30's that were popular for everyday wear. By this time, Claudia considers herself an adult and is wearing fully adult silhouettes and hemlines although the costumes emphasize her petite frame. Even though fashion in the 1930s went back to a more traditional waistline compared to the previous decade, the choice to put her in loose dresses rather than the more feminine formfitting silhouette of the day highlights her body's lack of maturity.
Tumblr media
In the scene before she decides to leave home again she is once again in a dress reminiscent of her childhood sailor dress with a schoolgirl-esque collar and bow, showing us that even if she is an adult woman now and has taken on the responsibilities of one, she is still Louis's little girl in her heart.
