#please make this make my dad slightly proud of me#its been awhile since I last practiced driving and a couple of months since my first permit expired#but I just need to keep on practicing looking and changing lanes/how to park and practice more on the freeway#god the thought of driving makes me so anxious but it’ll make things a lot better and easier for me#especially if I get accepted to a master’s nursing program somewhere and for clinicals#I hope my dad has some faith in me and genuinely helps me and doesn’t yell at me so I can get my license in the next year#squid sister says stuff

gunshots, gods, & getting fucked (b.e.)
warning: SMUT SMUT SMUT! gun usage, violence, bank robbery, mention of cops. fingering, oral, strap-on usage, pet names, praise.
your hands gripped the steering wheel tight, your knuckles were turning white. your eyes scanned the dark and empty road for any sign of flashing lights.
you were growing bored, but you had to stay focused.
the radio was playing the faintest of tunes, you mouthed the lyrics as you looked into the void, only being illuminated streetlamps.
and then there was an alarm.
your eyes flicked to the bank’s entrance as the car’s engine sprung to life. your eats started to hurt at how loud the alarm was.
you thought she was more careful than that.
you saw your raven-haired partner sprint out the doors, the duffel bag she was carrying looked like it was about to burst open.
she swung the passenger door open, practically leaping into it.
“drive!”
you didn’t waste a second before your foot slammed onto the gas. you drove off, your tires screeching as you took a hard right at the end of the street.
“what the fuck, bils?!” you asked her, frustrated. “you said you wouldn’t set it off!”
“yeah, look. sometimes things go wrong.” she scoffed, “anyways, i have the money. it’s up to you now, baby. get us outta here.”
you chuckled dryly. of course she managed to sweet talk you despite nearly butchering the whole operation.
“you look so fucking pretty behind the wheel.” billie grinned at you, she lowered the mask she was wearing and leaned over to press a kiss to your neck.
“enough, tiger. i need to focus.” you elbowed her softly, she laughed softly and leaned back in her seat. “save it for when we’re in the clear.”
it was like the universe was trying to be funny. just as you said that, you heard sirens getting closer to you.
“fuck.” you hissed, looking in the rearview mirror. you saw a cop car tailing you, you changed gears and the two of you jolted forwards as the car sped up.
billie leaned forward and popped the glovebox open, pulling out a pistol. she grabbed an ammo magazine from the middle compartment and loaded the gun. she pulled her mask back up and turned around to gauge what she was dealing with.
“hold on, we might not need it.” you warned her. billie tended to have, what they called, a trigger finger. she got a little too excited to sport the gun in her hand.
you saw her blow a raspberry as she slumped back in her chair. you found her cute like that.
you made a sharp left, turning into a busier road. you made risky swerves, cutting in between available spaces when you could. then you turned a random corner, spotting an alleyway.
you quickly parked in it, killing the engine. you signaled billie to be quiet, your eyes never leaving the rearview. you saw as the cop cars sped by quickly. you gave it a few seconds before turning the engine back on and reversing back onto the road.
you made sure to keep the car quiet as you made your way to the bridge that allowed you to get into the next city over.
three cop cars managed to spot you just as you entered the bridge, quickly speeding after you.
“jesus billie.” you groaned softly. “made yourself a bit of a threat there.”
“luckily, i have the best getaway driver ever.” she poked your shoulder.
“i can only do so much.”
you conquered any gap that you were allowed. but you saw in the distance that oncoming traffic was starting to slow down as more cars started to pile onto the lanes.
the three cars behind you managed to take over all the lanes, one on each. you couldn’t back out now. you started to sweat a little, worrying that you might not make it out fast enough.
and then you spotted it.
a huge semi-truck, it’s shadow was hiding the cars beside it.
you squinted slightly and managed to read its license plate.
BRT 365.
you almost called it a victory, but you weren’t out of the woods yet.
as you were about to make your move, one of the cop cars bumped into your rear. it sent you and billie forward a little.
you looked over to her to make sure she was okay, but she was only frustrated. you could tell she was getting close to scratching that itch, and you needed more time.
“hey bils.” you called after her, grabbing her attention. she turned to you and raised her eyebrows in anticipation.
“give ‘em hell.”
she licked the top row of her teeth, donning an almost sinister smile. she cocked the gun and rolled her window down. she elevated herself and stuck her head and arm out the window.
she pointed the gun directly at the cop car’s wheel.
“fuck you.” she said as she fired, hitting the tire dead on. you watched in the rearview mirror as the car veered off to the side and crashed into the bridge.
the driver of the car fumbled with the radio, most likely signaling that you were armed.
the other two cars were nowhere to be seen, hidden behind layers and layers of other cars. you saw your chance.
you lined the car up with the underbelly of the semitruck, spotting it’s mechanism that you & its driver built yourself.
“watch this.” you said to billie. you swerved into the underside of the truck, latching onto the mechanism.
the metal platform started to lift the car up into the truck, you turned the engine off to make it easier.
when you were completely inside and the bottom of the truck closed itself off, you exited the car.
“that was some mighty fine timing, charli!” you called out to the woman behind the wheel.
“thank me later, we’re nearly back at the safe house.” she said, her thick accent was reassuring.
you leaned against the car, your arms crossed over your chest as your girlfriend rounded the car, standing in front of you.
“look at you, pretty. proper criminal.” she said, her hands finding their way to your waist. she yanked you forward and connected your lips in a deep kiss. it was immediately heated, you knew successful missions like this turned her on like no tomorrow.
you giggled softly and put your hands on her shoulders. “nice shooting.” you pushed her backwards slightly, she groaned at the loss of affection.
you smiled to yourself, making your way to charli’s passenger seat. billie still set off the alarm, so you had to deprive her just a little bit.
—
you hopped out of the passenger seat once you reached the safehouse, smacking your hand on the side of the truck twice. you made your way back to the car as charli opened the back.
you drove out of the truck and parked the car in the garage.
“we’ll dump it tomorrow night, we just have to let the police cool down their search.” you said, shutting the car door behind you. billie took out the duffel bag and slung it over her shoulder.
she reached for your hand as she walked towards the back door entrance to your safe house. you jogged a little to grab it, intertwining your fingers together.
“i’ll see you guys next week. night, night!” charli called after the two of you, mounting her motorbike and driving off. you waved after her and so did billie.
as you two made your way to your shared bedroom, billie howled in excitement. she tossed the bag on your bed and unzipped it, turning it over and emptying it right on the bed.
“fuck yeah, baby!!!!” she exclaimed, whooping and turning to hug you. she lifted you a little and spun you around. you laughed and whooped just the same.
she set you down and grabbed your face with both her hands, “my fucking princess, you and your cars are a fucking supernova.” she said, smashing your lips together in a fiery kiss.
you wrapped your arms around her neck, pulling her closer. she set her hands on the back of your thighs and you jumped, wrapping your legs around her waist. she turned 90 degrees and set you down directly on the cash.
oh, this was interesting!
she nearly tore off your pants, not even bothering to take your other clothes off. she planted your feet on her shoulders as she knelt down in front of your already dripping cunt. you could head your heart pounding in your ears, this turned you on a little too much.
“fuck baby, does robbing a bank turn you on?” she chuckled, running a finger up and down your opening. “or was it the getaway?” she asked, tilting her head.
you nearly let out a whimper as you shook your head. “no…” you answered.
“no? what was it then?” her piercing eyes looked up at you from where she was.
“you shooting that gun… that was so fucking hot.” you confessed, your hips rolling on her finger. she let you continue that motion, you were the reason she got away. she had to reward you for that.
“oh really? you flatter me too much…” billie smirked, her gold teeth flashing in the light of your bedroom. her finger hit your clit, you hissed at the contact, your hips bucking upwards.
“billie, c’mon, please?” you begged her, you needed her to make you feel good.
“i suppose so, because you’ve been such a good girl. my fucking supernova.” she said, leaning down and diving into your pussy.
she pressed her tongue flat against your clit and shook her head quickly. you were leaking all over the cash, you knew it would ruin some of the bills. but you didn’t care, and neither did she.
you let out a sharp moan as she put two fingers in you. she was devouring you like she was a woman starved, lapping at your arousal like it was the only thing she could ever eat again.
your thighs tightened around her head, you could tell she was enjoying it. she loved being suffocated between your thighs.
her fingers pumped in and out of you quickly, she wanted to please you too. she curled her fingers inside of you, coaxing another moan out.
you felt a white-hot flush run through your body and settle in the pits of your stomach. it didn’t take long for you to give her a warning.
“billie— oh fuck, i’m gonna cum!” you cried out to her, your hands gripping the sheets and the bills that laid on top of them.
you thanked whatever otherworldly presence was looking out for you that she didn’t stop. she gave you silent permission with her eyes, those fucking eyes.
your back arched as you reached your climax, and she lapped everything up. she refused to leave anything behind.
when she was done, she walked off to the closet, and you knew exactly what she was after. she came out with a black silicone cock sitting perfectly strapped around her waist.
you felt yourself gush at her stance. you sat up, backing up into the bed and she climbed on it to hover above you.
the wads of cash followed the two of you, sinking into the mattress until it was under your back.
“you’re already so wet, don’t even need to use lube.” she said, mockingly. “does my cock make you this wet, princess?” she pouted, asking you.
you nodded quickly, your hands caressing her cheeks as she lined the tip of her cock with your hole. she turned her head slightly to kiss the palm of your hand.
as she slowly entered you, you let out a series of whines, trying to adjust to being stretched out.
“yeah, you can take it, baby. you can take it.” she said, pushing it further into you until the gap between your cunt and her waist was basically non-existent.
your eyes squeezed shut as you wriggled a little, allowing yourself a couple of seconds to get used to the size. you opened your eyes slowly to see billie’s empathetic ones, she was so sweet even in times like this.
even after all the crimes she’d committed, you had no doubt that she loved you more than the life she led.
“ready, baby?” she asked you as you met her eyes. you nodded in response because if you tried to talk, it would only come out as moans.
she thrusted into you, hard. pulling out almost all the way then bottoming out completely. you cried out in pain at first, but then it became pleasure just as quickly.
“fucking…” she mumbled, “good girl. fucking good girl, taking it so good for me.” she said through thrusts.
your eyes rolled into the back of your head as your mouth hung open. her hand found its way up your shirt, squeezing one of your tits through your bra. your back arched into her hand.
“oh my god, you’re so pretty. you’re so fucking sexy.” she said, studying your face of pleasure.
“fuck, bils!” you screamed out, your nails digging into her cheeks. she didn’t care about the pain, she just loved making you feel good.
she started to pick up her pace, her hand joining the fun as she used her fingers to draw circles on your clit. you squealed as your body jolted, your tits bouncing with every thrust.
“fuck.. fuck… fuck…” the curses stumbled out of your mouth with each thrust. that rush of pleasure went straight through your body again.
“gonna cum, princess?” billie asked, you started to tighten around her cock, making it harder to continue her movements. you could only whimper out a soft ‘mmhm’, but that was good enough for billie.
“okay baby, why don’t you cum for me like the good girl you are, yeah? c’mon, you can do it. cum like a good girl.” she coaxed your second orgasm out of you.
the pleasure was building up from everything she was doing. the hand on your clit, her cock fucking into you and making you see stars. your body tensed up,
and then you released.
“billie!” you cried out, your body relaxing as you came on her cock, your arousal forming a ring at its base.
she kept thrusting into you, helping you ride out the crashing wave of an orgasm you just had. and then she pulled away, plopping down on the bed next to you.
“hey baby?” she spoke to you.
“hm?”
“i’ll only ever fuck you like this now.” she said.
“what do you mean?”
“i’ll only ever fuck you like we’re gods.”

you visit jude and decide to take him through the night to show him a little something, and he shows you one in return
bff!jude x reader
word count - 900+
watch it - pure fluff + teasing and silly judi
-----
windows down driving through a warm madrid night with jude in your passenger. just happy you let him tag along. its your second day in the city, your first seeing him in months. you’ve been itching to. but he doesn’t need to know. his ego will only inflate even more. what will you do with him then? he's already a hand full.
he wanted to greet you at the airport (and bring flowers. friends bring flowers to airports right? right...)
he thinks you'd kill him if he did either.
he missed you, though he doesn’t yet know how to say it yet. worse, he thinks he just might love you.
friendship with you makes him want to tear his hair out. why does he want to kiss you. why does his heart ache at every single good bye. and more importantly why are you one of the very select few that hes allowed to call or face time him at any time
he needs to get it together. especially when you look so star studded like this, driving with one hand, lights of the city flickering on your face, drumming your fingers against the wheel while you tease him
he treasures you. he doesn’t know why you keep going out of your way to see him. he wants to ask. one day, some day, not today.
he chooses to stick his head out the window instead , ignoring the looks he just knows he's getting from the cars around him. you only giggle at his antics, turning the music up.
you hum to the music that blasts from the speakers, not a care in the world, weaving through the streets maybe a little too carelessly but you cant help it. not when his eyes gleam so.
he sticks his head back inside, shimmying into his seat properly, but he hasn’t had enough of the night breeze. hand hanging out of the window, arms outstretched, reaching up up up. you think he could reach the stars like this.
who are you kidding. he's a star himself.
he turns to you, smile wide, burst of laughter falling from his lips, "you drive like a mad man."
you shrug, "you’re having fun aren’t you?"
he mimics you, raising his shoulders dramatically, "am i?"
you shake your head, looking over your shoulder as you change lanes. he laughs, mumbling something about you needing extra classes. and who has their license in the first place, you or him?
never mind that, you want to show him something. you saw it driving to your hotel.
you come off the highway, slowing down as you go up a ramp, back into city roads. you watch as he looks out the window wide eyed. jude, always eager to experience everything. do you make the list?
you hope so.
you drive through turns and loops with one hand, the other outstretched trying to catch the wind.
"copy cat." he mutters.
you narrow your eyes at him, "and who can drive then?"
he quiets at this, huffing in his seat.
you reach the side of a building, parking your car. jude is still pretending to sulk when you step out, heading over to his side.
you lean down, resting a hand on the door, "come on you big baby, something i wanna show you."
he perks up at this, "a surprise?"
you snort, "something like that."
he hops out, closing the door being him. you don’t go very far, leaning on the drivers side of your car, pointing to the side of a building. he looks up, gasping.
its a billboard of him, spanning practically the whole side of the structure. there he stands in his iconic stance. text reading "made in birmingham" on the bottom.
"ive never seen this one before..." he trails off.
"pretty cool one. its huge."
he hums, "makes me look extra cool."
you scoff, "yeah you need it."
"hey!' he yells, launching forward as you run from him.
down the street while you giggle, only the moon and street lights to guide your path. he hurls empty insult while you try not to think too deeply about the implications of it all. he catches up in an instant. of course he does. grabbing your arm and dragging you back to your car while you groan.
you try to throw a fit, wriggling against his grip the best you can but man is the guy strong. turning to face you, brow raised. he turns a little to fast, till your pressed almost right up against each other. faces so close you could just lean in to-
kiss!
his lips press against yours. warm and sweet. soft and gentle.
he pulls away just as fast, apologies tumbling from the same lips so fast he cant hear you saying its okay.
so you kiss him instead. wrapping a hand around his. you can feel him relax under you, tensions seeping from his frame where he stands.
grounded.
when you part. you think your face is genuinely in flames. oh how youve dreamed of doing just that a million times over.
he laughs , the idiot laughs. clutching onto your hands like a life line, "ive been waiting ages to do that." he sighs.
"me too." you confess, shy. looking away, your gaze ends up back at billboard jude.
he wrinkles his nose, "id rather kiss you more somewhere where he isn’t spying."
you gasp, "are you jealous of yourself?" dragging the two of you back to your car.
he shrugs, ducking back inside and buckling up, "im just saying he doesn’t need to be seeing my business."
you roll your eyes, turning your car on and back to driving, "you’re so dramatic."
"but you’re having fun aren’t you?" he teases.
you ignore this. speeding through streets with all the windows down while you let him choose the music again.
you have a soft spot so what? so does he.

Things I did to go from having severe driving anxiety to genuinely enjoying driving and doing it for fun:
My driving anxiety was BAD. I didn’t get my license until a few years after I was “supposed” to and it took me a REALLY long time to get comfortable in a car. I would be stressed out when someone else was driving in case we crashed. I would have panic attacks so severe I would throw up when I was behind the wheel in my mom’s car in an empty parking lot before I even shifted into drive.
(Also I’m aware that I’m very privileged and not all of these are possible for everyone, so just keep that in mind)
Getting my mental health in check. I started taking anti anxiety medication during the drivers ed process after a long battle of trying to not be on them and they helped SO much.
Getting my physical health in check. I got on POTS medication and I haven’t passed out from POTS in almost 5 years.
Avoiding ALL content about car accidents. I didn’t read about them, I looked away when I saw an accident while in someone else’s car, I told my friends not to talk about car accidents to me, I even turned TV shows off whenever there was a car accident.
Learning the rules of the road REALLY well. In California, you need to complete an online drivers ed class before getting your permit. I completed that, and then I studied the drivers handbook and read it cover to cover multiple times (it’s free as a PDF online and you can also buy a physical copy. I think some DMVs have FREE physical copies there)
Asking a lot of questions while someone else is driving. I would ask my parents stuff like “are you allowed to make a U turn there?” Or “how do you change lanes on the freeway?” And stuff like that.
Take it at your own pace. This is probably THE most important step. I started by barely tapping the gas and then immediately braking in my mom’s car in an empty parking lot while hyperventilating. Once I got comfortable driving in a parking lot, my stepdad found this empty road about 3 miles long that he would take me to every day. Once the road ended, I would stop driving and he would take over. DO NOT push yourself too hard. If you push yourself too hard, you’ll create a negative association with driving and your driving anxiety will get worse. If I felt too anxious to continue in the middle of an empty road, I would put the car in park and swap places with one of my parents.
Consistency is key!!! Try to practice every day possible. Even if it’s just a tiny bit. Even if it’s just sitting behind the wheel of the car in park with it turned on. Just do it as much as possible.
Try to practice in the same car every time. My mom’s car is like a tank and super scary (I only learned to drive it properly a year after I got my license), so I practiced in my stepdad’s smaller more manageable car. After that, I bought my first car and I only practiced in that!
Give yourself a little reward for being brave /gen. I would get a cherry slurpee at the 711 every time I finished driving.
If you’re driving to a place, even if you know how to get there, type in the address in google maps or something and study all the steps so you feel more prepared.
Don’t be discouraged if you fail your driving test the first time. I was so nervous I only passed on my third and final try. In most places, you can take it 3 times.
Make it fun!! Find a new podcast or make a playlist of your favorite music to play while driving!!!

How to teach someone to drive
Featuring my younger brother who has anxiety and has already been a passenger in a car crash
I learned to drive in spite of my parents. They got me an online class (no video, just walls of text and clip art with quizzes) and sat in the car, but they didn't really do any teaching. I failed my behind the wheel test on my first go around. I wasn't gonna have my brother go though the same thing so this is how I got him able to pass his test with 0 faults on his first try in about 6 months (and my parents never even knew it was happening)
Make sure this is something they want to do or feel like they should do. It's very hard to learn to drive if you don't think you need to learn to drive. my brother was against driving but ultimately conceded that he needed to learn at some point even though he didn't like the idea of it
Use the right car. Don't use a big truck or something with weird or large blind spots. I hated driving my mom's volt because i sat way too high in it and couldn't see out very well which feed back to point 1
Link it in with a fun outdoor activity. Are you going somewhere? Plan to do driving afterwards. Do not spring this as a surprise. since your already out and about go for a drive.
Plan a route. Look on Google maps for some cul-de-sac or neighborhood where there is only 1 or 2 ways in or out. This will ensure they can't get onto a main road and also cut down on other traffic
Park the car and take photos of the mirrors from the drivers seat. Show them what you have centered in each. Have them adjust the mirrors to match the photo
Drive around the cul-de-sac. The first few drives will only be about 10 minutes long. Show were to stop at a stop sign. show when to yield. get use to accelerating and breaking gently. Do a 3 point turn and go the other way for some variety. reverse the car against the sidewalk for about 30 feet. parallel parking comes later.
Repeat step 6 until they are comfortable.
Plan a longer route. Use Google maps to find a different neighborhood that has more cross streets and route out a 20 min weave though the neighborhood. with android auto/apple carplay/a phone clip, seeing the route to be taken and knowing what turns need to be taken ahead of time will add purpose to the drive. it sucks to drive around aimlessly. always have a destination
Drive the longer route. This should only need to be done once or twice. Point out any new road signs and what the mean and what to check for
Find the driver's handbook for your state and send it to them. It's usually not more then a 10-20 page PDF with lots of pictures and is a very quick read. the next step is dealing with THE PUBLIC so they should know ALL the rules of the road
plan a route along a less populated multi lane road. something that gets up to 35-45 mph with low traffic. you know the type
drive the multi lane road. go over merging and practice changing lanes at speed. point out new road signs and have them keep awareness of surrounding cars. is there someone behind them that wants to pass? move over. is there someone beside you in the blind spot? are they in front with their signal on? let them in.
its time to start extending the driving time. have them drive to the destination/event or drive home from it. stick to back roads. do not use the highway. google maps has a setting to avoid highways. just follow that. parking lots will now be the new practice backing up
when the situation presents itself, practice parallel parking. its not on the test but its just so good to know. if you could pull into a parking space have them try and parallel park instead
register online for the behind the wheel test and have them drive the car to DMV to take the test
and thats it. in ~6 months only driving one day a week for no more then 2 hours, you can get someone comfortable with driving. going from not driving to driving is all about building confidence. the steps need to be small enough not to overwhelm and the stakes low at the start to make messing up inconsequential. and speaking of mistakes, unless the error is unsafe, do not point out an error until after the situation was passed. its overwhelming and stress inducing if you point out the error while its happening as they will try to correct it, usually slamming on the breaks which is less then ideal.
for example, if they go though a pedestrian crossing without checking for pedestrians (even when there are none), point out how they didnt check, the signs that were leading up to it, and make a point to call out the next one so they do check. on the other hand, if they are about to make a unprotected left on green with cross traffic, STOP THEM.
I hope some people find this helpful. driving is stressful at times. learning how to drive does not need to amplify that

Your Eyes, Vacant & Stained
Ch.2 - 4k
Pairing: Frank Iero x Gerard Way
“Have you been bit?” He said more like a statement, than a question.
“Uh, wha- bit?” Frank stammered over his words, he’s been in a couple of drunken fist fights but he’s never had a gun held to his head.
"Did one of those things bite you . Answer me, or I'll shoot." The figure threatened.
Warnings
Gore, Death, Murder, WORK-IN-PROGRESS, not completed (and chapters unknown) but I know the ending, trust me guys I will write it, I just need people to love this idea with me, Zombies, Gay, mcr??
Support my AO3 with part two otherwise, enjoy ♥
Chap 1 | Chap. 3 | Chap.4 | Chap.5 | Chap.6 | Chap.7 | Chap.8 | Chap.9 | Chap.10 |
I think it might be zombies...
The joint was gone within ten or fifteen minutes, Frank wasn't sure. He was unaware of how long he’d been driving, either. Much to his fear, radio stations were almost all out. Some stations were playing songs still, but others were just silent, the ones that preached were very quickly skipped.
This truck had a CD player, and a couple of CD’s hidden in the glove box. The song title and artist blocked the clock on the outdated radio. The sun was still high but it was definitely past noon, the joint had pushed the hangover into a hazy, less nauseating spot in the back of his mind that allowed him to relax.
The drive had been mostly boring, it was basically all wasteland besides the bodies and cars littering the streets. Most bodies in the roads had been driven over so many times they were practically flat, the others were in piles near flipped cars almost as if someone had been piling them there. Occasionally packs of them would be wandering in the distance, turning towards the sound of the truck as Frank drove by. Frank never really liked sand, or hot places, but his boss had said there would be some big people at the event last night. He wondered if any of them made it out alive.
It had to be nearly two hours before he finally hit a town. The town came out of nowhere, the town literally came to a dead end in the middle of the desert, where Frank rolled in from. He feared for a few moments that he was seeing a mirage, but he pulled the truck over in front of a couple of shops and got out. Using his hands to block the sun, he gazed around the small town that seemed to just go straight down a dusty, two-lane road.
The town felt horrifying, ghostly. The silence made Frank’s ears ring as the wind picked up slightly. A banging of a window cover in the distance made him jump then laugh at himself . He shook off the goosebumps and took a few deep breaths. A few blocks down he spotted a gas station, the truck was so close to empty, he wanted to kiss the parking lot once he reached it.
But bodies were sprawled aggressively around the town, most of them looked crushed by vehicles, and Frank wanted to avoid any contact with whatever virus was changing people.
He turned to look at the businesses he parked in front of, one was a thrift shop, the next one was a post office, and the third one was a pharmacy. Post office seemed useless to Frank, he slung the duffle across his back so both of his hands were free. He also took the wrench from before in with him, for protection , he told himself. He clutched it close to his chest as he bee-lined it to the pharmacy, almost praying that it hadn’t already been hit.
He silently pushed open the door, inside was dark but Frank could see supplies scattered on the floor and two of the shelves laying on top of each other against a wall. Supplies were scattered everywhere, a few lights had been shattered and the shelves that were on top of each other were also broken.
From the outside, it looked like a small building, but as he was making his way through the aisles, they seemed to just keep moving further and further back. He scoured the shelves, unsure of what he really wanted, but the store did not have much left to offer. Many of the boxes or bottles containing things had been ripped open, left spilled on the ground scattered with other broken glass and plastic.
I know it's the apocalypse but is destroying everything on your way out a necessity?
Eventually he dropped onto a knee and grabbed a travel aid kit from the bottom shelf, shoving what was left of it into his bag. He stood up and slid down the aisle to grab a couple different types of pain-killers that were shoved so far back they must've been forgotten. Even if they weren’t strong enough to get him high, he knew the joints were going to run out eventually.
He was lost in thought while browsing what remained of the leftovers when he heard the click of a gun. Slowly, he looked back towards where he came in as he raised his hands up.
A dark figure stood tall next to him holding a shotgun nearly in his face. Frank couldn’t figure out how the man got so close to him so quickly and quietly, but he didn’t think now was the time to ask.
“Please, I just woke up like three hours ago and the world is suddenly on fire. I haven't been bitten by anything.”
“What’re you doing here?” The figure was unmoving but Frank had calmed himself down a little, although his heart beating could probably be heard from where the figure was standing.
“I- I am literally just driving through, this car is out of gas, I pulled over, now I’m here and you have me at gunpoint.” He let out a minor sound of panic as he ended the sentence. “I have nothing to fight you with, look,” Frank lazily tossed the wrench to the person's feet, the gun twitched a moment but maintained its target.
“What’s your name?” Again, he said it more like a statement.
“Frank! It’s Frank, now come on man!” The stress was heard in his voice even more this time, even though both spoke in low voices.
The person lowered the gun and Frank was pleasantly surprised to see the man was more attractive than he wanted to admit; his hair was overgrown, greasy, and black, his skin was smooth porcelain with very slim features; his lips and nose were thin and piercing, contrasting his enticing round brown eyes. Frank thought maybe vampiric was a better term to describe the lanky man. He was wearing all black clothes as well, Frank refused to believe he was not drenched in sweat.
Don't let the pretty boy distract you, Frank.
“Thank you,” The man budged the wrench back to Frank with his foot, creating a short scraping sound and then deafening silence. “What’re you doing here, anyways? Isn’t this, like… some apocalyptic shit?” But the man had already walked back around a different shelf, presumably back to where he came from. “Hey! Hey, hang on!”
Frank scrambled up, collecting his things, slinging the bag across his back again and followed the man around the corner to see him packing a similar bag with gauze and alcohol. The man seemed to ignore Frank, which annoyed him.
“Do you really think I’m going to let you off the hook when you just had a gun pointed to my head?” The man sighed and shoved a bottle of isopropyl into his bag.
“Do you want me to do it again?” The man threatened, Frank immediately threw his hands back up.
“Hey, you seem like you’ve been doing this thing for awhile. I just woke up this morning to people eating people.” The man sighed again, defeated.
“My name’s Gerard. Obviously I’m doing the same thing as you are except my friends and I have been following the virus. Will you get over here and help me pack some of this shit?” Frank rushed over and dropped down, Gerard pointed at sanitizer and sanitizing wipes and Frank followed his direction and stuffed some into the other mans bag.
There was a moment of silence between them before Frank spoke up again, “Did you say you were following the virus?”
Gerard nodded, “There’s a lot to it but basically no one believes the virus exists because it’s moving so fast and slow at the same time.” Frank only became more confused, and he figured Gerard could read it on his face. “Look, it’s a lot to explain, but I’ll help you fill up your truck if you drive me back to my safe-house.” Gerard looked Frank in the eyes this time, and Frank felt a twist in his gut.
Frank gulped, they both paused the packing to look at each other, “You, uh… you guys already have a safe-house?” Gerard smiled and Frank felt his face grow hot and red, feeling like a child he looked away.
“I’ll explain more while we get gas, it’s just an abandoned building we’re squatting in.” He laughed lightly and continued to steal random boxes, Frank wondered if Gerard even knew what he was packing. “Come on, there isn’t much else here, did you find what you needed?”
Frank shrugged and nodded, he wasn’t going to admit he came in here without a plan. “Did you check out the place next door yet?”
As Gerard stood up, Frank shrunk in his spot. “The post office?”
“No, no, sorry, the thrift shop? Have you been there yet?” Gerard frowned and shook his head.
“No, sorry, shopping for clothes wasn’t exactly top priority on my mind today.” He chuckled and held out his gloved hand to help Frank stand up. Frank accepted his hand, but when Gerard pulled him up, he also pulled Frank towards him. A faint smell of nicotine and coffee radiated off of the strange man, Frank enjoyed the combination more than he wished he did.
“Sorry, I just… Making conversation, aha…” Frank rocked on his heels and shoved both hands into his pockets.
Shut up. Shut up. Shut up.
“Did you want to check it out before we get gas?” Frank shook his head. Gerard remained fairly relaxed as he led them both out of the pharmacy building, careful to scout outside before giving Frank the okay. “There should be canisters there.” Gerard’s tone lowered and Frank knew to follow.
They walked over a block before speaking again, careful to remain fairly quiet even though any creature that was here seemed to be dead now. “So, you and your friends are squatting in an abandoned building… trying to catch up to the virus?”
Air escaped Gerard’s nose as he smiled, “Close yet so far off.” He gave Frank a side eye as they continued towards the gas station. Each building they walked by looked just as abandoned as the last, none of them were destroyed but most were obviously ransacked. Doors hung open, an eerie silence floating around. “My brother and I are from Oregon, that’s where this started actually. I’m not surprised you haven’t heard about it, we’ve been listening to the news stations we can find but nothing is actually covering what’s going on.” Gerard checked around a corner where the road led down into a neighborhood. It was clear, they were almost to the gas station now. “And we aren’t trying to catch up to the virus, we’re more like… storm chasers except we’re… virus chasers.” Gerard grinned widely at Frank, very proud of what he just made up.
“So, is your brother back squatting for ya?” This made Gerard chuckle.
“He’s not squatting for me, I’m the quietest one in the group so I tend to over scrounge when I get free time. It’s been awhile since we ran into someone, though.”
“You keep talking about your “group”, who’s your group?” They arrived at the gas station and stopped next to each other.
“It’s just my brother and I and a friend we grew up with.” Gerard shrugged and nodded his head towards the gas station, not giving a chance for Frank to process before he started walking closer.
Frank scrambled to follow him carefully, getting his wrench into a defensive position. Gerard peaked inside through the windows, it looked as deserted as any of the other buildings they found, but they remained cautious.
Frank kept watch closely next to Gerard as Gerard pushed open one of the front doors, the inside surprisingly still had electricity but the place had clearly also been ransacked.
Cash registers were tipped over, shelves were barricading some windows and side doors. Blood was splattered randomly around the store, a couple of bodies behind the counter had been nearly fully devoured.
There was a body laying on the ground between two shelves, food scattered all around and over it, it was unable to be seen without looking down the aisle. The body was severed at the waist but her head was twisted up and it seemed to stare at Gerard with her twisted scream frozen onto her face. Intestines spilled out down the aisle and her legs were wrapped around the corner of the end of the shelf. Gerard sniffled and continued on towards the refrigerated section.
Frank was stuck on the woman’s body. She was looking at him now with her terrified, vacant eyes. When he was finally able to pull away from her face, he realized she was missing an entire arm while her other arm reached upwards towards him.
He couldn’t help but wonder who she was reaching for. Or why they didn’t help her.
“Haha, hell yeah!” Frank jumped at the sound of Gerard exclaiming something from the end of the coolers. He heard the sound of a fridge seal back shut as he peaked around the corner. He saw the woman’s legs bent in all directions poking out from behind the shelf at Gerard's feet, but Gerard didn’t seem to care.
Gerard turned around and flashed a couple of frozen pizzas that looked almost fake to Frank, until his mouth started to water and he realized how hungry he actually was. “Are those both supreme?!” Frank quickly met Gerard in the back, forcing the image of the woman away, “We’re gonna have to get you home before they thaw anymore.” They were still mostly frozen, but there was a slight squish as Frank maneuvered the pizzas into Gerard’s backpack.
A crunching drag behind Frank made his blood run cold and Gerard twisted around, raising the shotgun again as he’d done when he met Frank except Gerard had the gun over Frank's shoulder this time.
They quickly met eyes before Gerard looked back at whatever was behind Frank. His expression was hard and intimidating, but the crunching slowly moved a crawled closer. " Get behind me... " Gerard whispered.
Frank slithered around him to hide and saw the woman from the other aisle pulling her way towards them. Her face was still frozen in a mid scream, her mouth was drooling and her tongue was whipping around randomly as she dragged her body closer. Loud groans were escaping from her throat, her sounds made her look less human.
Okay, zombies are real.
The crunching sound made Frank’s hair stand on end. She dragged her intestines through the broken glass of the fridge doors, a couple of pieces of glass were big enough to cut her and create spurts of blood at the leftover containers and rations on the shelves. Frank’s hunger quickly turned to nausea again and he pulled away a bit, allowing Gerard’s body to hide the woman’s mangled one.
Gerard took a step, she continued to scrrrrraaaaaaapppppeeeee through the glass. Her mouth made strangled, gurgling sounds, but since it wasn’t able to close, a lot of the bloody saliva continued to spill out of it.
As Frank ducked to his right he felt himself get hot again at the sight of the woman's mangled legs, what little water he had from the drive there was gone again. From around the corner, a couple of loud thuds that were accompanied by the sound of a thick material shattering could be heard. Frank wiped his mouth clean and stepped back around the corner to see Gerard holding the gun backwards with the hilt embedded in the crushed skull.
He felt the nausea come back and pulled away again. He looked down the aisle where the woman’s body originally was and saw a few leftover medications, some basic summer supplies, and a couple of bags of chips still.
He wasn’t hungry, but he needed to distract himself. He pushed himself down that aisle, pulling his duffel around to his front, he started shoving everything still sealed into his bag. He grabbed two bottles of sunscreen too and stared at the condoms for a moment. Was this something that really mattered during the end of the world? He questioned himself.
“Hey, did you get my zipper closed?” He turned around and saw Gerard barely peeking over the shelves to look at him.
“Oh, uh, no, hang on, sorry.” Gerard's head dropped a little and his eyes disappeared as he chuckled.
“You’re fine, I’ll come over to you, there’s nothing else over here anyways. I guess a lot of people had coolers when they left town…” Did anyone leave town or did everyone just get eaten or turned?
Without another thought, Frank shoved the box of condoms into his bag and zipped it quickly. Gerard rounded the corner as he was situating it onto his back again. Gerard had a small smile the entire time and Frank wondered how he could be so positive while actively killing people.
But he realized they weren’t people anymore. The only people left were them and whoever Gerard was with. Gerard stopped right in front of Frank and spun around so he could finish closing his bag.
“Thanks.. Come on, I think I saw the way into the basement, they have to have canisters down there.” Frank sighed deeply as Gerard went back towards where he found pizzas, Frank followed without question.
And Gerard was right. In the back corner of the gas station, they had two bathrooms and a way into their basement. The basement was dark and dingy, but there weren’t any bodies down there, let alone any blood. There weren’t any windows and the room was relatively small minus two shelving units pushed against a wall that held random cleaning supplies, light bulbs, and snacks that hadn’t been touched.
Gerard flashed a devilish grin at Frank, “You got any room, still?” Frank flushed but nodded and followed Gerard to the shelves.
They weren’t stocked with much, mostly just bags of salty snacks and a couple boxes of candy. When Frank threw his bag off onto the floor, he unzipped it quickly and shoved his hands in, feeling around to push the condoms into the back. He didn’t really want to raise any questions with a stranger.
“Hey, you gonna help out?” Gerard was staring at Frank but his arms were out grabbing everything he could.
“Yeah, sorry, I’m just rearranging stuff to fit everything.” Frank mentally patted himself on the back before hopping up to help Gerard. They were able to fit a couple of bags of nuts, sunflower seeds, a few different types of sour candy, a bottle of disinfectant plus a bottle of bleach stored in the water bottle pouches of Frank's duffel. Gerard collected as many cartons of cigarettes' as he could shove into all of his pockets.
Gerard exclaimed, “Yes!”, once they had finally gotten the zipper to the other end. Frank noticed the weight difference but was hoping Gerard would split the loot if he helped him out more.
Canisters were sitting in an opposing corner, Gerard was already making towards them before Frank had time to even stand. He threw the bag over his shoulder instead and followed. Each took two canisters and made their way outside. “Then we’ll know they have three more here if we lose these, or if someone steals them.” Gerard said casually as they made their way out of the gas station.
“Unless someone comes here and finds them.” Frank argued as Gerard squatted and used a stray metal rod to pry the gas pump open. To Franks, inside looked like a lot of metal and copper rods. But Gerard reached into a side pouch on his duffel and pulled out a plastic tube. As he began yanking at different things in the gas pump, Frank realized he was holding a hand pump and within a few minutes Gerard had hooked the pump up and was beginning to pump for fuel.
“You weren’t kidding when you said you’ve been at this for awhile…” Frank spoke without meaning to, but Gerard basically ignored him as gas began pumping through. He watched as Gerard skillfully switched the pump with a canister while barely spilling anything.
Gerard smiled up at him. “So, we can just split everything once we get back to our place.” Frank sagged slightly with relief, his stomach was painfully empty, he would’ve accepted food even if it fell on the ground.
Frank stood and watched Gerard fill each canister as they mostly remained silent. Frank scouted around nearby corners at one point, but returned back to Gerard when nothing interesting was discovered.
Eventually the gas stopped and the last canister was mostly full. Gerard capped it off and they left.
They pretended as though blasting someone's brains out meant nothing as they walked in silence back to the truck Frank stole barely three hours earlier.
Frank tossed his duffel into the backseat before crawling into the driver's side, he started the car's accessories and watched the gas level rise as Gerard dumped the not-yet-full canister into the truck. He slapped the outside of the driver's side door from the window when the needle reached the F.
The canister was empty.
Gerard pulled open the back door and placed the empty canister onto the floor behind the passenger seat, leaving the door open as he lugged the last three canisters over. He placed them in a row behind the drivers seat on the floor, the seats hugged them together to prevent them from spilling.
Gerard slammed the door shut and rushed around the front to get into the passenger seat, Frank started the car. Gerard yanked the door open and used it to pull himself in. He flashed Frank a wide, toothy grin as Frank watched him in fear. It took him nearly a minute to snap back into his consciousness and shift the car into drive and begin driving through and out of town.
"Okay, turn up here," Gerard resisted against the seat belt as he pointed out the windshield, "it's gonna take awhile, and you're gonna think you're lost, but please trust me."
Even through Gerard’s greasy, shoulder length hair, and his coffee stained teeth, Frank felt a safety radiate from him.
Stop acting like a U-Haul lesbian, Frank. Pull yourself together. But he could not stop himself from sneaking glancing at Gerard when he got the chance.

Avoiding Distractions on Austin’s Busy Highways: Expert Tips from Travis Driving School 🚗📱🚫
Austin’s highways, like I-35, MoPac, and Highway 183, are some of the busiest and most unpredictable roads in Texas. With heavy traffic, constant construction, and fast-paced driving, avoiding distractions is essential for staying safe. At Travis Driving School, we focus on teaching new drivers how to stay alert and avoid common distractions that can lead to accidents. Whether you’re new to driving or just looking to refresh your skills, these tips from our drivers ed experts will help you navigate Austin’s highways safely.
1. Keep Your Eyes on the Road 👀🚗
It sounds simple, but one of the most common mistakes drivers make is taking their eyes off the road—even for a split second. In fast-moving traffic, even a quick glance at your phone or GPS can lead to a dangerous situation. On Austin's highways, where speed limits are high and lane changes are frequent, staying focused is key.
At Travis Driving School, we teach drivers how to manage distractions and emphasize the importance of keeping your attention forward, watching for sudden stops, merges, and lane changes. Trust us—knowing what’s ahead is the best way to avoid surprises on the road.
2. Plan Ahead to Minimize GPS Distractions 🗺️
Using a GPS system is essential, especially when navigating Austin’s complicated highway network, but it can also be a source of distraction. Instead of constantly glancing at your device or fiddling with it while driving, plan your route before you start your trip. Set up your GPS while parked, and if you need to make changes mid-drive, pull over to a safe location.
At Travis Driving School, we guide our students on how to use navigation systems responsibly and how to plan routes ahead of time to avoid fumbling with technology while driving. Preparation is key!
3. Limit Phone Use (Even Hands-Free) 📵
While hands-free phone calls are legal in many areas, they can still be a major distraction. Talking on the phone, even with a Bluetooth device, can reduce your concentration on the road. Studies have shown that your reaction time slows significantly during phone conversations, which can be risky in fast-moving highway traffic.
At Travis Driving School, we always encourage drivers to limit phone use while driving, whether it's texting, calling, or using apps. It's better to stay focused and avoid splitting your attention between the road and your phone.
4. Stay Calm During Traffic Jams 😬🚦
It’s no secret that Austin’s highways are often plagued by traffic jams, especially during rush hour. These slowdowns can be incredibly frustrating and, for some drivers, lead to distracted or reckless behavior like checking phones, eating, or even applying makeup behind the wheel. Staying calm and patient is essential.
At Travis Driving School, we help students practice defensive driving techniques for traffic jams, teaching you how to maintain focus even when traffic grinds to a halt. By staying alert and avoiding distractions during stop-and-go situations, you reduce your risk of rear-end collisions and other common traffic-related accidents.
5. Avoid Multi-Tasking While Driving 🚫🍔
We get it—Austin’s highways can be hectic, and long drives often leave drivers tempted to multi-task behind the wheel. Whether it’s grabbing a bite to eat, adjusting the radio, or answering a text, multi-tasking is one of the leading causes of accidents.
At Travis Driving School, we stress the importance of keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road at all times. If you need to eat, send a message, or adjust your music, do it when you’re parked—not while moving at high speeds on I-35 or MoPac.
Conclusion: Stay Safe on Austin’s Highways with Travis Driving School
Driving on Austin’s busy highways can be challenging, especially with so many potential distractions. By staying focused, avoiding multi-tasking, and preparing in advance, you can safely navigate the city’s busiest roads. At Travis Driving School, we prepare our students to face these real-world challenges head-on through our comprehensive drivers ed program. Learn how to avoid distractions and stay safe in even the most stressful driving conditions. 🚗💨

Just a best friend - E.M
i’m having a bad day so enjoy some angst 😍. idk if i’m gonna do a part two but i probably will because this was one of the most awful imagines i’ve ever made and it has a lot of mistakes but enjoy i guess <3
Eddie Munson was your best friend. he’d been your best friend since you were 7 years old, he was 9 and nothing had ever separated the two of you. not when he became the freak, not when you got into high school and people called him a devil worshipper, none of it bothered you because you knew the real Eddie. now, you were quite popular in the school and you’d always wondered why, maybe it was because you were a cheerleader who was actually nice to people but you hung out with Eddie sometimes but people still treated you nicely.
you had developed a crush on Eddie when you were 14 and the feelings had only progressed from the moment you realised. the only people who knew were Chrissy, your cheerleading friend and Robin. Robin had also been your friend for a while (since you were both 13) and she had kept the secret from Eddie the minute she found out, you also worked with Robin at family video which was always a bonus. both Robin and Chrissy encouraged you to tell Eddie your feelings but you never did. you didn’t want to ruin what you already had with him and you knew telling him your feelings would ruin that.
it was a Friday afternoon and you were at your locker collecting your English book, which was thankfully the last lesson of the day, with Robin by your side pestering you about Eddie. “c’mon y/n, you have to tell him some day, it’ll just make you feel worse keeping them in for any longer” she said in a pleading tone. she begged you practically every day to tell Eddie your feelings for him because she would say she was ‘99.9% sure he also felt the same way’. “Rob come on now, you know i can’t do that” you replied, closing your locker after getting the book.
“look i’ll make you a deal. i’ll tell Vickie how i feel once you’ve told Eddie how you feel. i know you want me to get it out as well so i’m willing to risk everything for you to tell him and you definitely shouldn’t be scared because i know he likes you back dingus” she said, as you both walked to English. it was true, Vickie and Robin were so cute together and you wanted them to be together so badly. you sighed loudly and stopped walking to look at her. “god- fine i will. i’m going to his tonight so i’ll tell him then but you better do it Robin. i’m not joking” you said nervously as you heard a loud squeal come from her.
she wrapped her arms around you and jumped around in excitement. “thank you thank you. now dingus i know you’re scared but please don’t be. i’m 99.9% sure he feels the same way” she said those words again. “yeah yeah whatever” you said jokingly as you both walked down the hallway which was still filled with students. you both spoke about how you were working tomorrow and how she was definitely going to find out about how it went tomorrow.
after English was done and school was finished for the weekend. you walked to the car park and saw Eddie waiting at his van, cigarette in his mouth as he waited for you to come out. every Friday without fail you and Eddie would either go to your house or his trailer for a movie night and tonight was definitely the perfect time to tell him your feelings. Eddie’s posture changed once he saw you walking towards him. “hi love, how was English?” he said, pulling you into a tight hug. “hi Eds, it was okay, Mrs Lane just has such a monotone voice i always almost fall asleep. she needs to liven up a bit” you joked making Eddie laugh out loud.
“she does have a boring voice. but come on, i have the exorcist at home” he said, pulling away from the hug and opening the door for you to get in. you said a small ‘thank you’ before he closed the van door carefully. you and Eddie talked about school as he drove to the trailer park, your nerves building up as you got closer and closer to his trailer until finally you stopped outside. “ahh home sweet home” he said as you both got out the van and walked towards the trailer. it was October time and it was starting to get darker earlier. it was already getting dark when you were leaving school, now it was practically pitch black, making you even more nervous to watch this terrifying horror film.
Eddie walked in first and headed straight for the kitchen to grab any snacks he had and you walked to the living room. you were thinking of the perfect time to spill your secret but no time came up. “make yourself at home princess. you want a blanket?” he asked as he watched you sit down on the sofa. “sure, i can get it-” you said before Eddie interrupted you. “nope, i’ll get it just put the tape in please?” he said, walking to his bedroom to get a blanket. you nodded your head and put the tape in the VHS player and waited for Eddie to come back.
he came and sat next to you, blanket and snacks in hand which he chucked all over you. “god Eds be careful” you joked as he pulled you into his arms making you tense slightly. you prayed Eddie wouldn’t notice and you assumed he didn’t because he didn’t say anything, he just kept his arm around your shoulders as he watched the tv screen.
you eyes were on the screen but your mind wasn’t watching the movie, it was focusing on the arm around your shoulders and how you were gonna tell Eddie how you felt. Eddie must have realised you were in your thoughts because he pulled you out of them by speaking to you.
“you okay princess? you’re acting strange” he said, his hand stroking your arm gently sending shivers through your body. you coughed before turning to him. this was it. this was finally the time you were going to tell the boy you’ve loved for so many years your feelings. “i just- i have to tell you something Eds” you said, sitting up from the sofa and grabbing his hands, your palms were sweaty and your nerves were building up more and more.
“what’s up? you’re scaring me” Eddie said as he paused the tape, turning his full attention to you. you took a deep breath before looking directly into his eyes. “im
in love with you Eddie.” you said, relief filling your body as you finally let your feelings be out in the open. “i- what?” Eddie said, eyes wide in shock as he heard you say this. “i love you. this isn’t a joke and i’ve been feeling like this for a while. i’ve been wanting to tell you for ages but i just didn’t know how” you replied, eyes still looking into his. although there was relief in your body, there was still the lingering nerves as you awaited his response.
“y/n sweetheart, you know i love you” he said, his hand squeezing yours tightly. excitement filled your body as he finished that sentence but you didn’t let it be known to him you were excited. “but i’m not in love with you like that. you’re my best friend and i’m so sorry that you feel that way bur i don’t feel the same way you do sweetheart” he carried on, the excitement from your body leaving immediately. embarrassment and shame now filled you. how could you be so stupid? of course he didn’t love you like that. “oh” you whispered as you let your head fall to look at your lap, tears filling your eyes, blurring your vision.
you let go of his hand and stood up, hoping he couldn’t see the tears now spilling from your eyes. “i- i need to go, my mums probably worried” you said, voice cracking slightly as you gathered your things quickly, wanting to leave the trailer right then and there. Eddie followed you around as you slipped on your shoes and walked out the trailer door as fast as you could. “no wait. y/n, sweetheart you have to understand-” “no i get it, i’ll see you around Eddie” you said, slipping your bag over your shoulder as you walked up the pathway.
“at least let me drive you home y/n. you can’t walk home in the dark, i’d hate myself if something happened to you” he shouted after you, guilt filling his body. “i’m good thanks” you shouted back, he knew you were crying, he could hear the tears in your voice as your figure got smaller and smaller as you walked further away from him. you kept your sobs quiet as you walked home but you didn’t stop the tears falling. you had never been so embarrassed in all your life and he was the last person you’d thought you’d be embarrassed in front of. it was safe to say you definitely not going back to his for movie night any time soon.

Masterlist
Pairing: demon!Wanda Maximoff x fem!reader
Summary: You pick up on the lies in Wanda’s life and she decides to show you the truth.
Warnings: 18+ ONLY, dark!fic, demon things™️, more hints at dom/sub because I’m a whore for demon!Wanda
A/N: I can’t believe that it’s been a month since I posted the last one 😭 I have some things planned for the next part and so on but I also kinda wanna take requests again??? idk we all know how I get overwhelmed easily with that so we’ll see what happens there. anyway tell me your thoughts on this please!
Previous part
Waking up feels like gasping for air after being trapped underwater. You aren’t sure how long you were asleep, but the mid afternoon traffic quickly alerts you of how much of the day has passed.
Despite your head feeling like it’s made of cement, you manage to stand up, slipping off thin pajamas as you walk into the bathroom and stop at the mirror. Your skin seems tender in places and you’re a little bit startled when there isn’t a single indication of the bite marks and scratches you feel, even after rubbing your eyes a few times and turning in every direction possible. Deciding to let it go for now, you reach for the shower stall to turn on the water, detouring to the bedroom instead when you hear your phone ringing.
“Hello?”
“You didn’t save my number, did you?”
“Wanda?” You pull the phone away long enough to quickly clear your throat. “I mean hey, Wanda! What makes you think I didn’t save your number?”
“You answered like you didn’t know who was going to be on the other end.”
“Okay, you caught me,” you admit after a moment of silence. “I promise I’ll save it as soon as we hang up. Anyway, what’s up?”
“Remember that pet adoption center you pointed out to me?” You acknowledge her with a hum. “I was thinking about getting a cat…Wanna tag along?”
“Absolutely! I was just about to shower though so I can be ready in an hour or so.”
“Perfect! I’ll text you when I’m outside.”
The two of you say your goodbyes and you keep your promise of saving her number, typing in her name and hesitating on the emoji keyboard. Realizing you’d spent far too much time contemplating this, you simply save what you have and hurry back to the bathroom, something in your brain urging you to not keep her waiting.
-
Within an hour, she sends you a text in all caps and a smiley face that tells you she’s arrived, and you can’t hide the fact that you’re surprised when you come outside and she’s waiting on the passenger side of the car.
“Hey! How are you?” she greets cheerily as she approaches you with a hug, and you shiver when her hand touches your lower back. “Are you cold?”
“No, I’m okay.” You smile and thank her when she opens the door for you, attempting to collect yourself as she crosses to the driver’s side again. “I’m really happy to see you again.”
“You are?”
“Yeah,” you admit quietly as she pulls away from the curb. “Is that such a bad thing?”
“No no, I just didn’t want to assume you were enjoying our time together as much as I was.”
She places her hand over yours while she glances at you, smiling as she squeezes your fingers and thigh lightly. You feel a rush of something traveling from the places she touched to your brain, only slightly aware of the fog settling in your mind.
“Well I didn’t want to be too enthusiastic about it and scare you away if all you wanted was friendship,” you clarify, meeting her eyes when she reaches a red light.
“I suppose you’re looking for more too, then.”
“I am now.”
The light turns green and she breaks eye contact, but the little smirk that follows tells you everything you need to know. At least, you hope it does.
-
“I think he’s the cutest one we’ve seen yet,” you comment about the kitten that hasn’t looked away from Wanda since you approached his area. “He seems really drawn to you, too.”
“How did he get the name ‘Baby Satan’?” Wanda inquires with an employee, who approaches you with a chuckle.
“It’s actually Baby Stan, because we used to have an adult cat named Stan as well and needed to tell the two apart. We were going to give him a new name but decided to leave that up to his new family.”
“It says ‘Baby Satan’ though,” you cosign with Wanda, gesturing to the extra A mixed in with the magnetic letters that spell the kitten’s name.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! I don’t know how that got there,” the employee apologizes as she reaches over to fix the sign, and you watch her freeze as Wanda touches her arm.
“Don’t be sorry. Keep it; I want to adopt him.”
“Okay, right this way,” the employee mumbles as she turns awkwardly and stumbles over to a desk, and as the two of you follow her, you look back to see Baby Satan still staring at the woman beside you.
“What was that about?” you speak up finally once you’re in the car with her new furry friend, and Wanda frowns at you while fastening her seatbelt.
“What?”
“Why did that employee react to you like that? You touched her and she started acting really weird after.”
“Oh, Kim’s fine!” she assures you as she fixes her mirror before pulling out of the parking lot. “I actually asked her about that while you were looking at scratching posts and she said I’d overstepped her boundaries and made her uncomfortable. Don’t worry, I apologized and everything’s good again.”
“She told you her name?”
“She was wearing a name tag, babe.”
Babe...that’s new. Still, the sudden nickname doesn’t completely distract you from the fact that you’re certain there was no name tag on Kim’s uniform. You’re debating with yourself about bringing this up when you notice her heading toward Lane County.
“Are you taking me to your house?”
“Yeah, if you don’t mind.” She glances at you and over her shoulder toward Baby Satan before turning back to the road. “I figured I could introduce both of my kittens to the place they’ll be spending a lot of time in.”
Her fingers brush over your knee as “my kittens” leaves her lips, and you’re almost embarrassed when your hips involuntarily buck slightly. Noticing the small change in your behavior, she takes advantage of your head turned toward your own window and allows her instincts to continue driving while she stares at you, placing her palm on your thigh and rubbing circles on the fabric covering it that brings her closer and closer to your core.
“Home, sweet home,” Wanda announces as she pulls her wandering hand away to park the car, jumping out a second later and grabbing her furry son from the backseat. “Hey there, Baby S.”
You step out of the car in a similar fashion of pulling yourself out of a swimming pool, taking in the fresh air and trying to relax yourself as you follow her into the apartment building. The hallways reflect the quiet and clean neighborhood as you make your way into the elevator and up to the 6th floor, suddenly entering the most empty apartment you’ve ever seen.
Of course there’s furniture: a couch with a TV mounted on the nearest wall, a dining table with a set of matching chairs, a few stools placed at the island and kitchen appliances that are shiny and new. But there isn’t any personal artwork, posters, books or even just a lamp that you could tell Wanda purchased herself with one glance.
“Are you staying in an AirBNB or something?” you ask as she carefully places Baby Satan’s carrier next to the couch, and she chuckles.
“I guess technically it was one before I moved in, but I’ve been here for two years.”
“Okay...so where are your pictures?”
“What?”
“Where are your pictures?” you repeat, maintaining a steady voice despite the expression she gives you as she faces you again. “Pictures of your family, friends, you as a child?”
“If you knew my family, you’d understand why you don’t see them here. She startles you by practically growling her words but you press further.
“Okay but you also said you love plants and we’re the only living things in here.” You step back to put more space between you while quiet shuffling noises are heard inside the carrier. “What’s really going on here?”
You can easily spot the shift in Wanda’s emotions: going from defensive, arms crossed and eyes glaring to resigned with slightly sagging shoulders and a defeated sigh.
“Fine, you got me.” She bends over to pick up the carrier again and passes you on her way to the door, stopping a few feet away. “If you’re serious about pursuing a relationship with me, then I should probably show you my real home.”
“I don’t know...”
“Come on, love.” She comes just close enough to bring your hand into hers and a tingle spreads through your body, causing you to pull away but her grip only tightens. “I promise I’m not going to hurt you, and this is the only time I’ve lied.”
You find yourself being drawn closer to her, and an almost familiar feeling washes over you when her thumb begins rubbing gentle circles into your jaw. The metal on her ring is so cold it almost burns upon contact, yet you nuzzle into her more with each pass along your skin.
“Don’t you want to be good for me without being forced to your knees first?”
If the fog surrounding your consciousness wasn’t so thick, you might’ve been shocked by this side of her, so calm yet demanding you serve her. But the hand on your jaw seemed to cover every inch of your body and sink into your nervous system, forcing you to fall into her and let her lead you back to the car with a simple arm around your waist. You’re buckled into the passenger seat again and a slightly blurry grin greets you from behind the wheel seconds later.
“I can’t wait to make you mine.”
Your head falls against the car window as she drives to the edge of Lane County, and your altered vision picks up on businesses turning into isolated suburbs into grassy fields into forests. You travel along narrow, winding roads past the tallest of trees with very few spaces in between, and your hazy state of mind prevents you from panicking when Wanda turns onto a dirt path that doesn’t even seem to be safe for bicycles. The wheels bump along the forest floor until she comes to a stop just outside of a two foot dwelling, similar to a cave.
Once the two of you are out of the car again, she holds your hand with her free one until you reach the cave, instructing you to sit in front of it while she does the same. She places her palm on the door, and her rings seem to come alive as they interact with it for a few moments before it swings open and the three of you are sent flying through a tunnel. You land with a groan on the hard floor and dust yourself off as you carefully stand, any questions dying in your throat as you face Wanda again, now standing before you in her true form.
“Welcome home.”

| Part 1 | Part 2 |
- One Year Later -
The past few weeks had been tedious for Dean, and he was dying to get out of the bunker and find a bar. Problem was, both him and Sam were on the run from the police again, meaning they couldn't exactly show their faces in any old joint.
"C'mon man, one night isn't gonna hurt," Dean begged his brother. "I'm sick of this cheap whisky and no offence, but you're not really the type I would usually choose to chat up."
"Ew Dean, gross," Sam grunted, screwing up his face and shaking his head. "Look, I know you've got itchy feet so I've been doing some digging myself. Garth suggested some roadhouse a few towns over; he's never been but he's heard it's pretty quiet and seems to be a haunt for local hunters. If you're that desperate, why not give that place a try?"
Dean frowned. "Theres a roadhouse a few towns over? You sure, Sammy?" Sam shrugged and held up his hands defensively.
"Hey, I'm only the messenger. You think Garth's having you on?"
It was Dean's turn to shrug now. "No, but I find it hard to imagine there would be a sweet little hunter base just down the road that we haven't discovered yet, don't you?"
Sam turned back to the computer, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know man, like I said, it's meant to be pretty lowkey. Plus, we have kinda been a preoccupied lately so I wouldn't be surprised if slipped past the radar - hey!" He jumped as the laptop lid came slamming down, narrowly missing trapping his fingers.
"Saddle up baby brother, it's time to go get us a proper drink." Dean spun round, flinging his jacket round his shoulders before throwing Sam's in his direction. Sam shook his head with a chuckle. If he was being honest with himself, he too had felt cooped up in the bunker and was interested in getting to know some other local hunters if possible. Moments later, the bunker was plunged into darkness, the only sound being Baby as Dean wheel-spun her out of the garage. Foot on the gas, AC/DC blaring from the radio, the brothers drove with the windows down, enjoying the cool September air. Living in a windowless underground bunker always made them appreciate fresh air when they could get it. Sam related Garth's directions to Dean, and within 20 minutes they were tumbling down an unmade road just out of town.
"Damn, no wonder we never found this place. Someone needs to relay this road." Dean grumbled, taking it slow so not to damage the Impala's suspension. Sam glanced nervously out the window, starting to question if in fact Garth had been having them on. This place was deserted, nothing in sight.
"Dean, look. There." He motioned forward, pointing at an old wooden sign standing at an angle to the side of the road. There was no writing on it, just a symbol - what appeared to be a devils trap in a circle with a diagonal line through it.
"No demons," chuckled Dean. "Very clever signage." He took a sharp right at the sign, tumbling down a windy lane that was hidden from the main road by bushes. It wound round to the left, coming parallel with road they had previously been on, before opening up into a large square area of gravel lit by a low floodlight. The lot was busy with trucks and vans, some of which Sam and Dean recognised as belonging to fellow hunters. They swung in a space towards the back, climbing out and taking in their surroundings.
The parking lot was positioned behind a square wooden building, painted jet black, with heavy blinds across the windows that did well to dim the lights that were on inside. A path ran round to the other side of the building, which showed the reminisce of an old, smaller parking area with access directly off the main road. However, it was clear to see this was no longer used; the potholes were treacherous and branches covered the track to prevent anyone from entering from the original route. Dean paused for a second, glancing up at the front of the dark building.
"Hey, you recognise this place?" He questioned his brother. "I feel like we've been here before."
Sam was focusing intensely on the big oak door positioned in the centre of the building. "I know what you mean." He replied, head tilted slightly. "I know this door from somewhere. But it can't be - that place was way easier to get to, we didn't have to stumble down some civvy-proof track. Plus, the place I'm thinking of wasn't a hunter's bar, it was just an ordinary joint."
Dean shrugged. "Maybe it changed. C'mon, lets go see, it's clearly busy." He pushed past his brother, opening the heavy door inwards and stepping into the warm room, aroma filled with burgers and beer.
"Hey, what was that place called again?" Sam questioned behind him. "Someone's bar, wasn't it? A girl's name, Sally's, or Abby's maybe..."
"Y/N's." Dean breathed, frozen to the spot. A space before him at the bar had just cleared, and he saw you immediately. You hadn't changed; still the same confident body language, hair tied back messily, towel thrown across your shoulder, just like you had been the night you'd met.
Sam chucked. "I don't believe it! Y/N, hey!" He made his way straight towards the bar, Dean following him awkwardly a few steps behind.
You paused when you heard the voice, your back to him as you mixed a drink behind the bar. No, it couldn't be. Surely not. After all this time, all this effort...they were back. You gulped, grasping the glass tighter to stop your fingers trembling so visibly as you turned around.
"Well well well, if it isn't Agents Slovak and Kiedis. Hows the latest album coming along, boys?" You grinned, trying not to make your awe show. A year, it had taken them to walk back into your bar. Or rather 12 months, 4 weeks and 3 days, but who was counting? They hadn't changed much; sure, Sam's hair seemed a little longer, but he was still staggeringly tall and gawky. Dean didn't look any different, although his eyes did seem more serious now, and they'd both earned a few more scars since you'd last seen them. You wondered what sort of horrors they'd seen in the past year, and had to shove away the urge to leap over the bar and embrace them tightly.
Dean had shaken himself clean of his shock by now, and pulled up a stool to sit besides his brother. "Wow Y/N, I like what you've done with the place. That new parking lot grew a bit, huh?"
You smiled at him as you fixed them a drink. "Yeah well, you two opened my eyes to a new kinda clientele, so this ones on the house. Since I started catering for hunters businesses really picked up, but I gotta keep this place a little more subtle now, see." The boys thanked you for their drinks as you moved to top up the empties that had been pushed towards you by your other regulars.
"Yeah, well you're doing a great job at that. We can't believe we didn't know about this place until now." Sam laughed and you shrugged, glancing down at your feet. Dammit Y/N, how long had you waited for this day, and now you were acting like a complete fool?
Dean took a glimpse round the joint, trying to remember back to what it was like that day they'd busted those werewolves. The layout was pretty much the same, with a few more tables thrown in the mix, but the lighting was darker and more pictures were up on the walls. By the door there was a wooden board with initials etched all over it carved with a knife.
"You'll have to add yourselves to that," you nodded in the direction he was glancing in. "It's custom. Every new hunter to drink here has to make their mark." Dean gave you a grin before downing the rest of his whisky. "Hey, you still got those friends of yours out back?" He queried. You rolled your eyes as you gave him a refill. "They even got headstones now. Real talking point in the smoking area, I tell you. Old Robbie over there even made me plaque for them at Christmas." The brothers chuckled, struggling to get their heads around how much you'd changed. Sure, they'd been pleasantly surprised at how well you taken to learning about the supernatural, but they never expected you to make a living out of it as well.
It wasn't long before you had to excuse yourself to tend to other customers, refilling drinks and entertaining their classic manspreading banter. Sometimes you wondered if it was worth hiring some more bartenders to help with the load, but every time you decided it wasn't worth it. You'd have to explain what these people did in order for them not to freak out whenever a regular came in busted from a fight, and there was no way you'd try keep it a secret from anyone. Part of the appeal of Y/N's Bar was the fact that no one had to keep their life a secret. Hunters could come for a drink and catch up with each other, sharing their latest hunts and interests without worrying the wrong ears might overhear. Besides, most of these guys were rowdy men who needed to let their hair down. Not many girls would be able to bat off the misogynistic comments and remarks as easily as you could.
Meanwhile, Dean couldn't keep his eyes off you. He was dying to know more - how had you managed to find out so much about the hunting world? Had something else happened after him and Sam had left? If so, why hadn't he heard from you? Sure, they'd only been living in the bunker a few months now, but how come he hadn't realised how close it was to this place? The elder Winchester couldn't stop wondering as he stood alongside his brother making general chit chat to the other hunters, some of whom he'd met before, others who he'd heard about, and some new rookies who were delighted to finally get to meet the famous Winchester brothers.
The conversation was much the same for you. As the bar filled up, everyone wanted to know how you knew Sam and Dean, and couldn't help but share the rumours they'd heard about them. You smiled through gritted teeth, willing them to shut up and just leave. Truthfully, you wanted everyone to leave, except the brothers. I mean, that was the reason why you ran the place like you did, right?
"Pull yourself together, girl," you mumbled to yourself. Glancing up you caught the eye of the huge portrait of your Dad, still hanging in it's central place above the bar. The one man who had been through it all with you, even if only in spirit. "Don't worry Pop, I'm not gonna let myself go all stupid over two stupid boys. I promise." Taking a deep breath, you turned back around just in time to catch Dean gazing over at you. Catching his eye, you blushed, giving him a nod before carrying on with your job. Dammit, why did you have to be so damn awkward all the time?
Weirdly, Dean felt the same way. Usually chatting up girls was a walk in the park for him, but there was something about you that intimidated him. Maybe it was the casual way you'd managed to turn your bar into a hunters haven right under his nose, or maybe it was just the stunningly sexy and confident way you carried yourself. He threw back another glass of liquid sprit before leaving his brother engrossed in conversation with another local hunter and slid round the bar towards you. "Old man still standing strong, I see," he lent on the table behind you, shrinking back slightly as he made you jump.
"Oh yeah, haha," you mumbled clumsily, trying to recompose yourself. "I don't know what he'd think about me opening up his old place to a bunch of supernatural hunters, but I like to imagine he'd think it was entrepreneurial or something." You dodged round Dean with your head down, not trusting yourself not to glance up into those shockingly green eyes you remembered all too well. If you did, you were afraid you'd never look away. You moved back round behind the safety of the bar as Dean moved with you, pivoting to perch in front of you.
"So, you hunt now too?" He questioned, making you snort with laughter.
"God no. I just monetise the alcoholism that comes with the job." You gave him a quick wink, glancing away swiftly. Do not make eye contact Y/N, you repeated to yourself.
"That's a safe bet," Dean replied. He was about to continue when a raucous behind caught his attention, as well as everyone else's at the bar. Across the room, a burley hunter had pushed another back into the table, sending beer glasses shattering on the ground and a chair to topple over dramatically. He grabbed the other man by the shirt collar, pulling him up onto the table and raising a fist. Dean immediately went to lurch towards the fight, but he was beaten to it. Before the chair had even hit the ground you'd made it across the room in two long strides, twisting the arm of the burley man and pinning him against the wall with a knee to the balls. The man cried out in pain, collapsing in on himself.
"That's your final warning, Frank. I want you out of my bar in 30 seconds, and I don't want you back until you've killed at least three rugarus. You need to get that violence out of your system, and I ain't gonna have you do that by messing up your fellow hunters in my joint." You scooped up the empty glass and threw the truck keys from the table over your shoulder to land as his feet. Dean nodded slowly at you with a grin on his face as you walked back round the bar.
"Wow, that was impressive. You practically flew across the room there. Nice moves, too."
You shook your head as you started washing out the glass. "Dude, I'm a lone girl working in bar that attracts predominately anger-fuelled men. I can handle myself pretty neatly. The girl can bite too, you know."
"Damn straight you can," Dean remembered back to that night with the werewolves. Even now he was still impressed with the way you held your own when faced with a gang of greedy pups.
He spent the rest of the night quietly observing you, while you did the same. After last orders, he and Sam hugged you goodbye, passing on their phone numbers in case you ever needed anything. Dean was pretty sure you wouldn't, but it still made him feel better. The drive back to the bunker was peaceful, the trip out having fulfilled its purpose. Sam had enjoyed chatting away with other hunters and was elated to tell Dean about the latest news he'd caught up on. Dean was just happy at the warm feeling spreading through his chest at having seen you again. For different reasons, they were both sure Y'N's Bar was about to become their regular place.

The Playgirl (ft. LOONA's Yves) [Part 2] [Female Reader]
---------------
Hello! I'm back with part 2!
Futa!Yves x Fem Reader, just in case ya forgot.
If you prefer, this is also on AO3 and AFF!
---------------
Yves shows up on time for tutoring, to your surprise.
"Hey baby."
"Don't 'baby' me."
"Sure. Let's start."
"Alright. Open up the textbook. We're starting from the basics. I've printed out some of the prerequisites for this topic, since what you did last time wasn't up to standard due to lack of practice of the basics. Now…"
Yves listens attentively. In fact, things go a bit too smoothly for the both of you. Yves doesn't make any cheeky quip, pull out any pet names, or flirt with anyone that passes by. The womanizing playgirl you knew disappears, and in its place is a focused, dedicated young woman. Sometimes, you even find yourself staring at her work on the problems in front of her. The change is… welcome, to say the least.
Your eyes roam Yves's styled hair, swiped back to expose her forehead, down to her beautiful large eyes, button nose, and full lips.
God, you're gay. Sure, you're literally admiring the beauty of the most insufferable bane of the universe, but you're just so fucking gay and hot people are hot, no matter how irritating they are, so...
When your eyes shift back up, you're met with Yves's smirk.
"See something you like, babe?"
Fuck.
"N-no."
"Liar."
"Fuck off." You rush to change the subject. "How're you doing?"
"I've been done for a while. You would know if you weren't spending the time looking at me."
You refuse to dignify her with a response, checking through the solved problems. With your coaching, Yves manages to get two more questions correct as compared to last time, but she still makes some simple mistakes.
"Okay, here's the issue. In question two…"
---------------
Yves continues to show up for every tutoring session. Somehow, a week passes by, and it is now Friday.
"Good afternoon, babygirl."
"Don't 'babygirl' me. How many times do I have to say it?"
"Mm, whatever. How're you doing?"
"Why do you care?"
Yves pulls out the chair next to you, leaning back on it, resting her legs on the table. She turns to you, grinning.
"Of course I'd care! You're my tutor, and if you don't feel good, you won't be able to teach me properly. If I don't get taught, I won't learn, then I'll fail, and I don't get to win. You know that I always win."
"I'm not sleeping with you."
"That's what you say, but not what you mean."
"Fuck you."
"That's what you'll be doing in five months' time."
"No I won't. Bring out the Calc textbook. We're going through Chapter 4 today."
"Alright, babygirl."
----------------
The change in Yves becomes apparent when she somehow is present earlier than you on Monday morning.
"Yves?"
"Oh, hey babe."
You sigh at the pet name, but having heard her call you that for quite some time now, it doesn't grind your gears as much anymore.
"Don't 'babe' me."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
Yves returns her attention to the papers she is working on, and the familiar math problems catch your eye.
"Calc?"
"Yeah. I promised I'll be the best student. Here I am."
"We'll see about that."
"You're looking at it right now." Yves rises from her chair, and in a flash, she has her arm around your waist, her face inches from yours. "I'm going to win, babygirl."
"G-Get off me!" Your face reddens instantly at the close proximity of your lips to hers. Memories of the chaste kiss Yves planted take front and center stage, and you can't help but look away from Yves.
"You're so pretty."
Yves has her gaze locked on your lips, then to your eyes. She is so close, too close, even. Heat flashes all over your body—every touch Yves leaves on you seems to burn.
"I mean it. You're gorgeous."
"T-Thank you."
The smug smirk never leaves Yves's face. She releases you from her smoldering gaze and grip, but she leaves you with a rapidly beating heart and a large distraction for the day to come.
When class begins, Yves tries to take the time to listen to the professor. However, she is soon back to her old ways, flicking paper balls at classmates and being on her phone more than she listens.
"Yves."
"Yeah, baby?" She meets your gaze, her tongue darting out to moisten her dry lips. Her hands carry on working on moulding another tiny paper ball.
"You're not listening."
"I am!"
"What was the last thing the prof said?"
"Um…"
You roll your eyes.
"Best student, my ass."
"I made that promise to you, not to him."
"You won't learn if you don't listen to him either. How're you going to be the best if you can't even do that?"
"Oh, so that's how it is?"
"That's right." You think hard about the words you want to say next, but maybe… maybe it is worth the risk. After all, Yves is still the bane of your existence, but she could be less of that if she keeps up her effort in trying to learn.
"You don't get to fuck me if you're not the best."
You watch as Yves freezes. She stares at you, her jaw hanging, before she steels her gaze to your eyes, staring deep into your soul.
"So this is how you wanna play, babygirl?"
"Yeah." You can feel your bravado slowly disappearing.
"Fine. I'll listen. I'll play by your rules."
Yves leans to your ear, her breath sending shivers down your spine. Her deep whisper makes you shudder.
"You will be mine at the end of the year, baby. I promise you: I'll ace my exams, and you'll love me for it."
Perhaps provoking your seatmate wasn't the best idea. Now you have to deal with the deep flush on your face and neck, as well as the heat between your legs.
---------------
A month passes.
Every week, the same things go by—tutoring, classes, more tutoring, more classes. However, what changes is how close you and Yves get with each other. By no means were the both of you friends, but she isn't as much of a thorn in your side anymore.
[yves💘 sent a message:]
Baby
I need a bit more help with the math from the last chapter.
Can I see you this weekend?
Saturday, 10am, Seoul U entrance?
[You sent a message:]
Sure.
I'll see you.
[yves💘 sent a message:]
Good.
Dress nicely, baby. It's a date.
[You sent a message:]
Fuck off.
You groan when Yves manages to charm you through text. Outfit ideas are already flowing through your head, and you sink your face into the comfort of your palms. Why do you even care about looking pretty for Yves?⁶
Well… that genuine grin she flashed after a muffled gasp of surprise when you wore a dress once in the past month was gorgeous on her. That was why.
You remember Yves actually having the slightest hint of a blush when looking at you, and she seemed to be a little less flirty that day, opting to take short glances at you when she thought you weren't watching. This newfound attention was… welcome. You couldn't deny feeling shy having Yves check you out. After all, you were just the nerd girl in class, and having this attention from a hot girl you could consider a crush not as much of a pain in your ass felt so good.
-----
Saturday arrives, and here you are, waiting outside Seoul University.
You choose to keep things simple: just a simple button-down dress with daisies printed on the fabric. Your hair is tied up in a cute bun. The pink backpack you carry completes the look, with a nice pair of flats.
The sun isn't too bright, and a cool breeze keeps you comfortable while waiting. You can't help but get nervous, though you know it is irrational to feel so. After all, this is just another study session. However, Yves's text to you earlier in the week keeps flashing across your eyes.
'Dress nicely, baby. It's a date.'
You know this is just a study session. However, a part of you dimly wishes that it isn't, before you hurriedly bash those thoughts with a hammer and then set them on fire.
The revving of a motorbike catches your attention before it zooms down the road. You can see the bike move across the lanes, then slowing to a stop in front of you. The rider, clad in all black leather, complete with jacket and boots, seems to freeze in front of you, before slowly drawing the helmet off their head.
"Hey, babygirl."
Yves grins at you, her eyes sweeping over your body. Her gaze lands on your legs, moving up to your torso, your chest, and then to your eyes and hair.
The next words she mutters are meant to be kept to herself, but you hear her anyway.
"Fuck, you're gorgeous."
Your heart takes off, pounding against your chest. You try to hide the flush on your face by staring at the ground, but you field a gaze to Yves, who looks a bit like a deer caught in headlights. She looks so handsome, so cool, and downright fucking hot at the same time.
Hmm… What would it feel like being pinned under her again?
The intrusive thought you have gets stamped out instantly, but the effect lingers—you can't help but check Yves out, feeling a rush of heat deep within your loins.
Her agreement with you was starting to look more and more appealing. Maybe you do have to teach her well.
"Get on."
"What?"
"Let's go. I gotta park the bike, and the cafe isn't close by. Get on."
Yves hands you a spare black helmet, and you hesitantly take it.
"Don't kill me."
"I won't." She grins. "I like you too much to think about doing that."
Your breath catches in your throat. It's not uncharacteristic of her to say things like that so easily, but maybe… just maybe… you want her to mean it.
You get onto the bike as Yves holds it steady. You don't know where to put your hands, but Yves grabs your arms, pulling them to wrap around her waist.
"Hold on tight, babygirl."
"Okay." You can't believe what's happening right now.
"I'm gonna go."
The engine revs.
-----
Yves trails behind you as both of you make your way to the cafe. Yves is quiet along the way, unlike her usual flirting if she caught you staring at her. When you glance back to her, you see her eyes dart away from you, staring at the floor as she swipes her hair back.
Weird.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Oh, yeah. Never been better, baby." Her reply is unconvincing, especially with a forced grin, but you don't want to really push her for a reply.
"Er… Okay. Sure."
Both of you make your way into the cafe, stopping by the counter to grab the menu. When you sit down at a table, Yves sits across you, her eyes locked onto you as you peruse your options.
"You're staring a lot today, Yves."
"Oh, um, er…" She looks away, her voice soft. This is very unlike her.
"Are you really okay?"
"Yeah, baby. I'm feelin' great, ready to learn, and get good." She leans back, resting her hands on the armrests of her chair.
Oh.
She has a crop top on.
Oh my fucking God, she has abs.
You short circuit.
Two columns of defined muscle greet your eyes, as if to mock you. It wasn't like she was someone you didn't find hot. Now, you have to find out that she also has abs?!
Your mouth dries instantly, and you grab your bottle, taking a swig. The cool liquid quenches your physical thirst, but your mental thirst…
"Don't look too much, babygirl. You might get hypnotized."
Yves tilts your chin up with a finger, moving to lean close to your face.
"My eyes are up here."
Holy fucking shit, she's so fucking hot.
You wonder how you didn't notice them when she had that fishnet and crop top combo. Maybe her pants covered them, maybe you were blinded in your dislike for her. Whatever, you've seen them now. No reason to stop… respectfully staring, especially when you can.
"Look at me."
You meet Yves's smoldering gaze.
"Keep your eyes up here, babygirl." Her warm breath against your lips makes you yearn to lean in and close the gap. "I don't want them anywhere else when they're so beautiful."
You whimper involuntarily, and Yves chuckles.
"You're so fucking pretty, you know that?"
The shame that burns when you squeak and break your gaze to hide in the pretense of reading the menu is something you don't want to admit that you feel coursing through your veins, but it's there. When you lower the menu, Yves has her chin in her palm, her head tilted to the left, a satisfied grin on her features.
"I mean it, baby. You look really pretty today."
"T-Thank you."
"You're welcome. Let's order, I'm starving."
"Okay."
"Oh." Yves leans towards you, lowering the menu to stare into your eyes once more. "You'll get to see what you want to see when I ace the exams. Be patient, babe."
You groan.
-----
That night, you toss and turn on the bed incessantly. Every time you close your eyes, you can feel hot breath across your lips, smell the scent emanating off Yves, and sense her burning gaze on you. Yves's handsome features are burnt deep into your head, and just the thought of her sends your heart pounding and temperature rising.
You think of her abs under her clothes, the defined muscle jumping out to your eyes. She already looks so good, so delicious, and yet, things only go up from here.
The rush of heat between your legs doesn't help things.
You turn again, ignoring your basest desires. Bedtime it is.

Strike! (Jaehyun x reader)
a/n : okaay soo this was almost from a real story :)) i twisted and improvised something that happened to me :p not important though, but please enjoy this scenario!
warning : none, i think this is save for everyone.. except if you have bad memories with bowling...
characters : you, Jae, and his friends (Yu,Tae,Johnny)
tagging @yutahoes (since she knew what happened) and @neopalette anyone else wants to be tagged in my works tell me :)
enjoy!!
Spring is happening, the flowers are blooming, and the sun has been staying up longer! Everyone’s toasting under the heat and hoping that summer can just come now. You personally enjoy the heat rather than shivering in the cold winter wind. It’s just that you don’t really have anyone to enjoy this beautiful weather with. Just like any other day, you got down from your room to look for dinner. The sun is still up and you choose to just use one of your jacket and plop into your shoes before locking the door and walking nicely to look for food.
You turn on your earphone, playing on some light music so you feel less lonely. It’s just that you have friends but today you don’t feel like eating with them. You’ve been to two classes today and worked on some homework, you noticed it’s time for a “me time”. So, with the sun shining warmly and you enjoying your afternoon walk you smile when you notice how many couples are walking around the campus.
You’re jealous, you wont lie. Come on, who’s not jealous to see cute happy couples walking under the sun and with the blooming flowers things just look like a scene from a movie. You personally slow down to think of which dining hall to visit today. You choose to go to the west side and see what menu they offer.
You don’t see much student there which make you settle quickly on pasta and have them wrap it up to go. Now, with your boxed food, you walk happily to go back to your room only to pause when there’s a sport car filled with hot guys zooming through you.
You notice a lot of people have their eyes glued on the car, or maybe the guys in it. You don’t know them, but one of them seriously looks cute. You locked eyes for a second and you swore you love him at first sight.
“Woah, last time there were girls zooming around in their opened-cabriole cars and now guys too. Guess summer is really near.” You shrug your shoulder and continue to walk.
You pass by the car again but this time it is parked and the four guys are just chilling around their cars. Sipping on some cold energy drinks while giggling and tossing light smiles to the people passing by.
“Who are you looking at young boy?” The man behind the wheels earlier nudges the boy who has his eyes glued on you.
“Um no one-“ he stammers before turning away to look at his feet and feeling his ears burn.
“Oh I see, some freshman I guess-“ the guy with a Japanese accent teases the younger boy.
“Where? I wanna see too!” the smallest one between the three extends his neck to look around.
Their actions bring the crowd’s attention, and you realize you should keep walking. Why were you stopping in first place?
So, without much thought you continue to walk down your road while humming to your music.
“Stop staring,” the guy who’s looking at his feet finally speaks up.
“Why Jaehyun? You’re shy?” The tallest, Johnny aka guy behind wheel, pokes his cheek.
Jaehyun turns red “Nah, I don’t know her. She just passed by and I locked eyes with her.”
“Don’t worry, if Yuta saw her he will know her name.” Taeyong puts a hand over Yuta’s shoulder “Right Yuta?” he asks to clarify his statement.
Yuta nods “If only you justified if that was the girl you’re staring, I may have her name tomorrow.” Yuta plays with his phone.
Jaehyun sighs “Come on, this school is big… there’s no way you’ll get her name.” he hugs his three friends’ shoulders and sighs “Guess that will be the first and last time I see her.”
Johnny clicks his tongue “So dramatic. Duhh, I know how to see her.”
Jaehyun’s eyes widen “How?”
Taeyong giggles “She went that way, there’s only three houses there. We can just hang around there and see her if she goes out of her building. It’s that simple Jae, don’t be so sad.” Taeyong pats his shoulder and jumps into the car.
“Come on, we have a bowling match tomorrow might want to practice a little bit before the game.” Taeyong calls his other friends into the car and once they’re all in, Johnny hits the road again with high speed to show off his car and the guys inside.
--
You finish your dinner and clean up your room already. In an hour or two, you’ll wrap up your task and readings then maybe take a rest because tomorrow is a big day. You got more classes to suffer and some dance class to attend.
Your mind flashes back the image of the cute guy seating in the back seat of the sports car earlier. His dimple, his carefree smile and his fluffy wind-blown hair looks perfect. Oh you really wish you can see him one more time.
He doesn’t look like he belongs in your major, man like him probably is an athlete or studies something related to business or sports.
“Come on come to your senses (y/n)! What are the odds he meet you again? Even if he sees you, he won’t notice or realize you’re there.” You try to burry your hope by reminding yourself boys like him belong to the pretty girls with long legs. Unlike you, totally you’re way out of his league.
That night you dream of a fortunate encounter with the mysterious guy and he gives you his name. Weird how you cannot remember his name at all when you wake up, but the day is running and you need to wake up and face reality. He is a prince charming and you’re no Cinderella.
--
“I told you, I can get her name by today.” Yuta proudly shows Jaehyun and the guys an Instagram profile.
“Wait whoah you really did.” Taeyong says after examining the profile picture because of the private account.
“How did you?” Jaehyun stops asking when his eyes accidentally spot you coming into the room.
“Am I seeing things or is she really here?” Jaehyun whispers to his friends and Johnny gives him a smack “Hurts? It’s real. I see her too.”
Yuta chuckles “Come on, I see her walking to this place and thought maybe she’s here this afternoon. So, I made a quick run through the participant list and look up one by one.”
“Thank you- but oh I am so fortunate to see her again.” Jaehyun is literally having his moment. If this is a drama he’d have romantic bgm and flower petals falling out of nowhere. But this is the bowling room in the campus and it’s far from romantic. Especially when the judge calls for the competitor to get ready.
“Good luck there bro, focus on the game not on the girl.” His friends tease him before leaving to sit in the spectator seat.
You tie your bowling shoes and pick out your own ball. Polishing it and feeling it with your hand before bumping into someone’s sturdy chest.
“Oh- sorry.” You mutter an apology before looking up and freezing in place when you lock eyes with the same man you’ve been dying to see again.
“You-“ he turns pink.
“I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to bump you. Please don’t kill me.” You beg for him
He chuckles “I will not kill you, but if you want my apology…” he trails off and bends a little bit to see your face closer “Give me your name.”
You turn red now and you feel your face heat up “It’s (y/n)”
He smiles and reaches out his hand “Jaehyun, nice to meet you (y/n)” he shakes your hand and you grin. This is awkward…
“I saw you yesterday on the car. Nice car.” You whisper after both of you sit down to wait for your turns.
Jaehyun nods “Wasn’t my car sadly, but it’s my friend’s.” he points to the three guys enjoying pizza on the spectator bench. You only nod, his friends all look hot.
“So, bowling eh? Good at it?” you ask him when it’s almost his turn. Jaehyun stands up and wears his bowling glove “Good? I just pick this up as a new hobby and I join this to look for new friends.” He gets up to his lane and picks his ball before posing nicely and hits a strike.
You smirk, not bad. He has some talent.
Jaehyun returns after his turn is over and it’s yours now.
“What about you?” he asks
You sweetly smile “Watch and see,”
Jaehyhun notices how you change. Your posture is different, and your gaze definitely burns hole to the wall. He secretly has to control his heartbeat from going up when he sees you hit a strike.
You’re not a newbie, he notices that
“Great posture, accurate and precise.” Jaehyun offers a high-five and you take it.
“Well, thank you that came from years of practice. Pleasure to be your competitor tonight, I am (y/n) the school’s official bowling team leader.” You wink and Jaehyun feels his heart burst into million pieces.
How can you be so cute and so attractive at the same time? Plus what, you’re the bowling athlete team? Hot.
He sure is going to brag on you to his friends, but most importantly he’ll win your number first after the hot tight match. He’s glad Johnny forced him to sign up for this competition, and he’s glad he has the courage to talk with you.
“So, nice game and you’re really good.” Jaehyun nudges your shoulder when the game ends with you winning.
You grin “Oh yeah? Well, what do I get for winning?” you playfully tease him.
He knits his eyebrow for a while before grinning “Do you want my number? We can have lunch together or dinner someday.” He offers you his suggestion and you feel your cheek burns.
“Sure, yes I’d love that.” You gulp and type in your number to his phone.
“Okay, I’ll text you my number so you can save it.” He winks and turns his head around when his friends call him
“I got to go, do you want to go back to your dorm with us?” he offers you a ride but as much as you want to, you know not to accept rides from stranger easily.
You shake your head “I will go with them,” you point to a new group of friends living in the same building you just met earlier.
Jaehyun nods coolly “Okay, text me when you got home.” He points to your phone that lights up with a message from him.
You smile and wave your hand as you walk to the other friends “Bye Jaehyun! It was nice meeting you.”
Turns out yesterday was not the first and last time he sees you.

I really hope y’all like this story!!!

“Have a good day at school Missy!”
You waved to the young girl as she dashed into the building, her backpack disappearing inside the doors just as the warning bell rang. Slumping back in your seat, you sighed, scrubbing a hand over your face. This morning had not gone according to plan, and you’d barely managed to get her to school on time. It wouldn’t be the first time Missy was late, but you always felt guilty whenever she was. Usually her teachers were pretty understanding, what with her dad being the Marcus Moreno, afterall, but you tried to avoid tardiness whenever possible.
Pulling out of the drop-off lane, you began the short drive back to the Moreno household, mentally going over the list of things you had to accomplish today. Marcus had some late meetings tonight, so you and Missy were going to be on your own for dinner.
You were mentally going through the list of ingredients you’d need for spaghetti when you pulled into the driveway. Grabbing your purse, you shut the car off, climbing out and locking the doors behind you, double-checking with a quick yank on the handle.
So lost in your thoughts, you nearly tripped over a package sitting on the front porch, placed dead center of the welcome mat. Sighing, you bent down, picking it up and tucking it under one arm as you unlocked the front door, and stepping inside. You needed to be more aware of your surroundings, isn’t that what Marcus always told you?
Shutting the door behind you, you dumped your purse and keys on the table in the foyer, walking on autopilot into the kitchen. You set the package down on the counter and grabbed the notepad you always kept sitting beside the bowl of fruit, beginning to write down the things you needed to pick up when you went to the store.
You were startled out of your scribbling by the feeling of your phone vibrating in your pocket. Pulling it out and glancing at the caller ID, you smiled. “Hey Marcus, don’t worry, I got Missy to the school in time–”
“I need you to listen to me carefully.”
Back straightening, you jerked up in surprise at the low growl of Marcus’ voice. He sounded scared, which worried you, a lot. When the leader of the Heroics sounded scared, you knew it was serious.
“Was there anything suspicious laying around when you came home? Is there anything out of place?”
You quickly scanned the kitchen and living room, looking for anything strange or out of the ordinary. You couldn’t see anything, everything looked pretty much how you left it. In fact, the only thing that looked any different was the package you’d brought in–
Marcus could hear you suck in a sharp breath over the phone, and his frantic voice crackled through the speakers. “What? What is it? What do you see?”
“I–I brought in a package–” You stuttered, slowly backing away from the counter where the small brown box was sitting innocuously. “I–It was sitting o–on the front porch–”
“Get out of there! Get out! Now!”
Turning, you dashed for the front door when there was a sudden explosion of sound and heat, and your world went dark.
***
Marcus stared horror-struck at his phone, the sound of an explosion still ringing in his ears, even though the screen showed that the call had dropped.
He was standing at his desk in HQ, phone held limply in his hand as the giant screen at the front of the room flashed with the warning they’d received from Explosivo only minutes earlier.
B I G S U R P R I S E S C O M E I N S M A L L P A C K A G E S, M O R E N O.
His heart had stopped when he’d first seen the message, and his first thought had been to call you. When you’d answered, he’d breathed a sigh of relief, but the panic came back full force when he heard the explosion just before the phone went dead.
“Moreno?”
Granada’s voice cut through the haze, and he jerked his head up frantically to look at her.
“Send a team to my house and Missy’s school. Now.”
He didn’t wait to see if she listened to him, turning on his heel and sprinting out of the room. He called Missy’s school to warn them of the potential threat as well as the fact that a team was on their way to secure the building as he raced towards his car.
He probably broke every single traffic law in existence in his effort to get to his house as quickly as possible, but he couldn’t bring himself to care. His heart sank when he saw the multiple fire trucks and ambulances parked outside, as a team of firefighters worked over the smoldering ruins of his home.
Screeching to a stop, he ripped his seatbelt off and threw his car door open as he practically fell out of the vehicle in his haste.
He frantically scanned the people milling about outside the caution tape, trying to spot you. He finally spots you, sitting in the back of an ambulance, a shock blanket wrapped around your shoulders, a paramedic tending to a bloody cut on your head.
His feet are moving before his brain can even process what he’s seeing, and in what seems like seconds he’s standing just behind the paramedic, eyes roving over your figure as he tries to see if you’re hurt anywhere else.
***
You winced as the paramedic dabbed at the cut on your head, your fingers tightening in the scratchy grey fabric of the shock blanket one of the many first responders had draped over your shoulders. You were still shaky and a little dazed from the explosion, but miraculously, you weren’t too badly hurt.
Your eyes drifted shut for a moment, and when you opened them again, you saw Marcus standing in front of you, just behind the paramedic. Eyes flying wide open, you went to stand, the paramedic placed a hand on your shoulder to keep you still.
“Marcus–!” you gasped, and he jerked forward, coming to stand next to you, his hand hovering just above your shoulder, hesitant to touch you.
“Are you okay?” He demanded, eyes frantically flicking between you and the paramedic who’d just finished bandaging your head. “Is she okay?”
The paramedic nodded, before turning back to you. “You’re gonna be just fine, ma’am. The cut on your head isn’t as bad as it looks, head wounds tend to bleed a lot, but you won’t need stitches. You’ve got some bruises that’ll be tender for a few days, but nothing worse than that. You’re incredibly lucky ma’am.”
“Thank you,” you whispered, and he nodded again, closing up his medical bag, and stepping away, leaving you and Marcus standing alone at the back of the ambulance.
You barely had time to open your mouth before Marcus was pulling you up and into a frantic hug. His grip was tight and unyielding, and he pressed his face into your neck as you felt him take in a deep, shuddering breath. Your own arms came up to grip the back of his leather jacket in your shaking grip.
He holds you for a long time, longer than is probably appropriate. You can tell he’s reluctant to pull away, and you’re reluctant to let him go. But eventually, he does pull back, only to cup your cheeks as he turns your face to both sides, eyes scanning all the little superficial cuts and scrapes along with the larger, bandaged cut on your forehead.
“You’re sure you’re okay?” He murmurs, thumbs brushing over your cheekbones. “I’m so sorry, I called you as soon as I got the warning–”
“I’m okay,” you reassured him, letting him check you over to confirm for himself. “How did you know? What– Am I allowed to know what happened?” You knew that unfortunately, being a civilian, you weren’t always allowed to know what threats the Heroics faced, even with your connection to Marcus.
Marcus sighs, and releases you to drag a hand over his face, and you faintly notice that he looks exhausted. “It’s a new supervillain,” he starts, speaking quietly so as not to allow the emergency personnel milling about to hear him. “Calls himself Explosivo, has a fascination with bombs and explosions. He sent HQ a message that mentioned me directly, right before I called you. I don’t know why he’s targeting me specifically, I’m so sorry–”
You placed your hand on his chest, stopping his apology in its tracks. “Don’t you dare apologize, Marcus Moreno. I knew what I was signing up for when you hired me as Missy’s nanny. This is not your fault.”
You can tell by the look on Marcus’ face that he doesn’t believe you, but before you can argue, a team from Heroics HQ arrives, and immediately descends on the ruined house. You watch, dumbstruck, as heroes use their powers to begin repairs immediately, undoing the damage left behind by the package bomb.
Suddenly, your eyes widen, and you frantically grasp at Marcus’ arm. “Wait, what about Missy? Is she safe?”
Marcus’ eyes widen, and he quickly yanks his phone out of his pocket, frantically checking for any messages. He lets out a sigh as he sees a message from Granada confirming that Missy is safe and waiting for him at HQ.
“Missy’s safe at HQ,” he confirms, and you let out your own relieved sigh. “I’m gonna take you to HQ too, until the house is repaired and the security is updated.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but the look on Marcus’ face killed your arguments. You let him maneuver you towards his car, knowing that Marcus isn’t going to rest until both you and Missy are safe. You know his wife was killed in a supervillain attack, and you’re not surprised he’s being so protective right now. You’ve been Missy’s nanny for close to five years now, and you’ve grown extremely close to the leader of the Heroics.
The drive to HQ doesn’t take long, something for which you’re grateful. Now that you’re no longer in immediate danger, the adrenaline is leaving your system, leaving you feeling drained. Your whole body aches from being thrown into a wall, and you feel slightly dizzy from the blood loss.
Marcus is driving, but his right hand is resting lightly on your knee, thumb rubbing small circles as though to reassure himself that you are indeed sitting beside him in his car, and not in a bloodied heap of twisted limbs and broken bones under the rubble of his house.
He’s not usually this tactile, preferring to try and keep a more professional relationship, what with you being his daughter’s nanny and all. But right now, touch is a comfort he’s willing to indulge in, and you’re certainly not going to complain, no matter how your heart is going to hate you for it later.
When you walk into HQ, you’re nearly bowled over by a tiny, curly-haired freight-train named Missy. She wraps her arms tightly around you, burying her face in your stomach as she tries to get as close to you as physically possible. Immediately, your own arms come up to wrap around her shaking form, smoothing over her hair, already whispering reassurances.
Marcus just stands back and lets the two of you have this moment. You’ve become almost like a mother to Missy in the five years you’ve been her nanny, and he couldn’t be more grateful. You love her like she was your own flesh and blood, and Missy adores you.
He tries not to think about all the times Missy has begged him to ask you out so that the three of you could become a real family.
He’s much too old for you, in his forties with a child of his own. You’re barely thirty, not even considering you were only 25 when he first hired you. You’ve got so many options, so much still ahead of you, he’s not going to try and ask you out and ruin things between you.
He’s content with how things are, secure in the fact that you’re not going anywhere soon, and that he’ll have you in his life for as long as he can convince you to stay. He’ll do everything in his power to keep you safe. He already lost the first woman he loved, he’s not about to lose you too.

And They Were Roommates ‣ ldh
‣ genre: fluff, enemies-to-lovers, slow burn (?)
‣ wc: 10.7k
‣ summary: “It was unbearable living beneath you and now living with you? No thanks.” ; alternatively where Donghyuck needs a place to stay and you’re the only option left
‣ tw: mentions of a fire happening and its aftermath (nothing drastic and super detailed)
requested by anonymous
a/n: I’m not the best at writing slow burn type of fics so pls forgive me if it seems rushed! Enjoy!
i.
You would have never thought you’d be wishing for some expensive sound proof headphones at four in the morning. Not when you remembered the building owner saying that the place was peaceful and perfect for a university student like you. But because of your upstairs neighbour, Lee Donghyuck, it was bluntly known to those who lived around him that this detail no longer exists with him around.
You suddenly remembered the first night after he had moved in. You were ecstatic to have someone your age in the building. It was a good change from the small families and aging elderly. The idea of making a new friend that lived so close to you brought a deep sense of excitement. But all those thoughts were cleared from your head once you had realized that Donghyuck was going to be that type of neighbour.
He seemed to save graveyard hours for his gaming, not being shy to shout out strings of profanities and shouts of victory with his entire chest. The floors were nearly as thin as paper and everything that spewed from his mouth had gone dead straight into your ears. It was if he was sitting in your living room.
Groaning deeply, you push yourself off of your bed and run your fingers roughly through your hair, preparing yourself to face the devil himself. You slammed a fist into one of your many pillows and stood up, sliding your feet into your slippers in the process. All this energy wasted and sleep lost for one irritating boy that didn’t know when to shut the fuck up.
“No,” Donghyuck smirked, “I’m not going to kindly shut the fuck up.” He leaned against the doorframe and scoffed, “Especially since you asked me.” You could barely see his eyes as his bangs covered them like drapes. In his hand he held his headphones, one of those fancy ones that lit up.
“Don’t make me tape your mouth shut,” you threatened and rolled your eyes, “When are you going to learn?”
The smirk on his face deepened as he leaned closer to you, “Oh I did. But I choose not to apply that knowledge.” He returned to his previous pose, tapping his foot impatiently.
Breathing fire, you scowled and let an angry sound erupt from your chest. You knew it wasn’t going to do anything yet you let it out out of pure frustration.
“Are you done now? I need to get back to gaming,” he stuck a lip out as if he were begging you to leave, but it made you cringe so hard that that alone would have had you willingly fleeing from his floor and back to yours without question.
“No, I’m not done,” you retorted through gritted teeth, “Can you do your fucking–”
“Can you two please keep it down?” Donghyuck’s neighbour had poked her head out her own door, eyes unable to keep open. She was wrapped tightly in a robe and was probably half asleep. You felt bad. You knew how she felt. It was unfortunate that she lived next to a human air horn.
“Yeah, keep it down,” Donghyuck sniggered, directing all fault to you, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Seo but Y/N here is being quite an irritating little rat. Goodnight, Mrs. Seo.” Without a second thought nor glance, Donghyuck closed the door in your face, making sure to laugh out loud in the process.
You shot him one last glare at him through the door, hoping he’d somehow unconsciously feel the heat from your eyes and flipped him off all before turning sharply towards the stairs.
ii.
Donghyuck wasn’t one to have his moods change quickly. Often he’d spend an entire day in a good mood and if not, a terrible mood. And today, after meeting up with his friends across town, he could sense that this day could not go wrong.
It was about mid-afternoon when he arrived back at the building. From the bus’ view, he had spotted a fire truck parked along the fire lane in front of the apartment building. Off to the side, he could see familiar faces anxiously waiting to get back into their building.
“Mrs. Seo?” Donghyuck was puzzled at the scene. It was as if he’d walked into a movie theatre in the middle of its showing. There was no context provided and he was desperately curious.
“Donghyuck, it’s your room,” she hadn’t held back any information, “I heard Lisa and the twins arriving home from school and they knocked on my door and pointed at smoke leaking from underneath your door… we called the fire department and–“
“Who is the owner of apartment six-jay?” A firefighter slipped through the crowd, voice with great clarity in order for everyone to hear. Donghyuck has raised his hand. Everyone was soon led back into the building, being directed towards the stairs instead of the elevator as they had been shut off.
The firefighters led Donghyuck to his room once everyone had finally gotten to their own apartments. Donghyuck hadn’t completely processed the fact that his home was almost probably all ash. He needed to see it to believe it.
The door had been kicked to the ground, basically demolished. What used to be his kitchen was nothing but darkened wood and his living room was almost unrecognizable. Donghyuck’s mind runs back to all the previous belongings he had that were probably lost in the fire. He felt his shoulders grow heavy and his posture worsened by the second.
“The fire started from your room and it quickly spread throughout the apartment. It’s a wonder how the fire didn’t spread throughout the entire building, but everyone’s lucky that your neighbour had noticed smoke,” the firefighter explained, “The source of the fire was from all of the wires in your room…”
“Is there anything that wasn’t burned?” Donghyuck had finally processed everything. He felt his heart drop to the pit of his stomach. Everything was gone.
“You can see so for yourself,” the man had handed Donghyuck some safety gear and a box, “In these conditions, please be aware that there might not be anything left but it is still good to make sure.”
After rummaging through what looked like dirt, Donghyuck soon had come to the realization that the fireman was right. Not even his bed was in good condition. The fire had consumed nearly every single thing that belonged to him, aside from some clothes encased in his closet.
Before the firemen needed to leave, the last one out turned to Donghyuck, “Do you have any place to stay in for the meantime?”
He shrugged, “I’m not entirely sure, but I’ll figure it out… thank you.”
Nearly losing his entire ability to think straight, he found himself sitting on the rusting bench right outside the building. He only had his wallet, his phone, his charger, and the box of clothes that was safe from the flames.
He dialed Renjun first. He lived the closest and the hustle wouldn’t be as bad as going to Jeno’s or Jaemin’s.
“Hyuck? What’s up?” By the sound of it, Renjun was chewing on something crunchy, words muffled by the food.
“Hey, my… home burnt down…” Donghyuck wasn’t quite sure how he should break the news. He was still numb from the realization that he was basically homeless right now.
Renjun choked on his snack, “Your apartment? Like it’s all gone?” He was as shocked as he was when he got the news, “Is everything fine?”
“Yeah it is… except for the fact that I have nowhere to go while they fix it,” he sighed through the line, “T-that’s why I called you… I was wondering if I could possibly stay with you?” Donghyuck kicked his foot against the deteriorating pavement, feeling a slight bit embarrassed. Renjun was silent at the other end, probably thinking up ways this could happen. As the silence grew longer, Donghyuck started to wonder whether or not it was a good or bad thing. Maybe he was already getting stuff ready, or maybe he was trying to think of an easy way to let him down.
“Hyuck?” The tone was bad.
“Yeah?”
“I’m not sure I can let you stay here… you know I live with Yangyang and Chenle so it’s a bit crowded?” Renjun explained, “You already know I’d let you if there was free space…I’m really sorry.”
“It’s okay, Jun. I still have one option left so it’s not like you’re my last chance,” trying to brighten the mood, he forced out a small chuckle before he decided that ending the call was the best for him and Renjun, “I’ll see you, tomorrow?”
“I will! Good luck. I hope you find a place to stay.”
“Thanks, Junnie.” And the call ended.
Donghyuck scrolled through his contacts and straight to the J’s. He pressed on ‘Jeno/Jaemin’ as it was the landline and listened to it ring once before Jaemin picked up, “Donghyuckie! What’s up?”
He went through the same process as Renjun, only wishing that their answer was at the opposite of Renjun’s.
“It’s not that we don’t want you to stay with us… but it’s just that we don’t have space and it’ll be embarrassing if we let you stay with us… we’d feel bad for you.”
“You guys are my last chance,” he huffed out, “Where else can I go?”
“Maybe they have extra room on campus?” Jeno rang in, “I heard they have extra rooms in case a random student comes in.”
“I’ll try that… thanks guys.”
“We’re sorry!”
“It’s fine… bye.”
Donghyuck slumped in his seat, straightening his legs underneath him. He would rather not want to pay for an over expensive room at the university… but if that was his only choice, then so be it.
You hopped out of the bus, thanking the driver as you did. It caught Donghyuck’s attention almost immediately, head shooting at your direction. You were completely aware of Donghyuck’s glare and presence, firing back your own well planned glare. The hell was his problem? Quickening your pace, you yanked the door open and practically teleported inside and onto the elevator.
A small grin was soon plastered on Donghyuck’s face. An idea had popped into his head. But he wasn’t quite sure if it was a good one.
-
A heavy knock at your door had startled you. You were halfway to sleep, a nap calling you helplessly as you stared blankly at the Netflix screen. Whoever stood on the other side of that door didn’t know how to wait. It sounded like this person had a countless number of hands as the knocking didn’t dare stop until you unlocked your door.
You swung the door open to find Donghyuck standing in front of you. The way he held his body didn’t radiate the energy he usually held. It was actually quite depressing to see. It was like for once, Donghyuck wasn’t the vain and rambunctious boy that lived above you. He had his hands deep in his hoodie pockets and he wore a natural pout on his lips.
“What are you doing here?” It was surprisingly natural how the tone in your voice had sounded irritated. You were just used to speaking to him in such a way.
“I’m not here to piss you off,” he mumbled seriously.
You were thrown off at his reply, “Huh?”
“Can I come in?” If you weren’t looking at him as he spoke, you could probably hear his frown, “Please?” The sincerity in his eyes really proved that he was desperate about something and you weren’t quite sure what.
You wearily shuffled behind your door and let him through. Closing the door behind him, you turn around and see him rocking back and forth in place. It was weird seeing him in your home, “Okay… speak.”
“My entire apartment was burned. There’s basically nothing left,” he explained, “They said it was some type of electrical mishap because of my gaming stuff.”
If it was the right moment, you’d make fun of him for it. But you held yourself back as you sensed that the Donghyuck in front of you was not in the mood for pestering. How did you not know that the apartment directly above you had basically vanished from flames? “Oh… I’m sorry to hear that… and why are you telling me this?”
It took awhile for him to reply. He stared down at your feet, unable to string the right words together. It was a weird type of silence.
“I’m telling you this because I have a proposition.”
You sit down on your couch, “A proposition?”
“You know, like a proposal…”
“I know what a fucking proposition is, dumbass. What is it?” Donghyuck has never failed to provoke you.
“You let me stay here until they fix my place… and once I move back, I won’t make a single peep after one o’clock,” a sheepish expression surfaced on his face. He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand.
“Don’t you have friends?” you held back a laugh.
“I do, but none of them can take me in… you’re literally my only hope right now.”
“No. It was unbearable living beneath you and now living with you? No thanks,” you stood up and approached your door. Sure you felt kind of bad for him, but there was no way you were going to let this clown live with you.
He stopped your hand from turning the knob before he fell to his knees. He begged, “Please~ Please, Y/N! I’ll try not to keep you awake, I just need a place to sleep and eat and…” His bottom lip jutted out like a little toddler who was dying to play games on your phone.
You push him lightly out your door and sighed, “Look I’m really not looking for a roommate right now.” And it was true. There was a reason that you were still living alone after months of starting university.
“Please?” He sounded desperate now.
“No, Donghyuck,” you answered, “How about beg one of your friends?”
“I’m going to sit out here until you let me in,” he threatened.
“Do I look like I care? Because I don’t,” you say bluntly. You closed the door and went back to the nap you were ever so craving. If Donghyuck really was going to sit outside of your apartment, then let him. He was going to give up anyway.
The echoing sound of your empty stomach woke you up from your nap. The sunset being framed by your window indicated that it was inching closer to dinner time. A reminder had popped into your head that your kitchen held no groceries for dinner, meaning that you had to eat out and buy groceries. Which was perfectly fine with you.
Opening your apartment door, you feel a somewhat heavy object fall abruptly onto your feet. You shut your eyes tight, afraid that if you looked down you’d see something straight out of a horror film. It took a prolonged moment for you to actually build up the courage to open your eyes and look down.
Once you had reached the minimum amount of courage, you looked to your feet and found Donghyuck holding his head. He continued to curse under his breath, looking up at you, obviously irritated about what had just happened.
“Donghyuck, what the fuck?” You hit him with your purse, mostly because of how frightened you had been, “What the hell are you doing there?”
“I told you. I’m sitting out here until you let me stay with you,” he stood up and dusted off his pants, “I fell asleep.”
You gave him a dead look, not having it with him. This was the most you had conversed with him in one day and you really had to admit that talking to someone like Donghyuck was rather tiresome. Your door locked behind you as you pushed past him, ignoring the way he stood up with the built up energy he had in his body.
“Where are you going?” he followed you willingly. “Dinner. Groceries,” you mumbled. You were praying for the elevator to come faster.
“I’m coming with you,” he stated, standing at your side.
“No you’re not.”
As if the film had cut to the next scene, you found yourself sitting across from Donghyuck at a nearby McDonald’s. He was munching on his nth chicken nugget, cold drink in the other, as he blinked at whatever car drove past the building. The silence was awkward, but you’d rather it be awkward than hear his voice for at least the entirety of your stay at the restaurant. With his backpack sitting next to him, he looked like one of those kids you’d baby sit right after school.
Once you finished, you threw your garbage on the way out and started to walk to the grocery store right across the street. It wasn’t a surprise to you when you hear the nearing footsteps of Donghyuck. He didn’t say anything, he sort of just floated next to you.
Upon entering the store, you were actually relieved to see that Donghyuck had gone his own way. At first you thought about packing your cart with all that you needed and leaving him. But then you realized that there was seriously no use because he knew where you lived. At this realization, you decided that taking time was better on your energy level.
About ten minutes into the shopping trip, you were bent down in the ramen aisle, eyeing down which spice level you should get. Often, you’d get mild, but you found yourself needing more than what the package provided. The only thing holding you back was what if the ultra spicy was too spicy? Then it’d be a waste of ramen.
“Oh there you are,” Donghyuck had slipped into the aisle with his own basket full of goods, “I thought you left me or something.”
You glare at him before giving up and throwing both flavours into your cart, “You better be paying for your own stuff.” You start to roll it down to the front of the store and to self checkout.
“Of course I am,” he dropped his own basket to the checkout next to yours and started doing his own thing.
There was still a bit of hope in you that maybe, hopefully, one of Donghyuck’s friends would offer him a nice place to stay in instead of yours. But when you still felt the boy’s presence behind you as you left your apartment building’s elevator, you knew damn well that he really wasn’t going anywhere.
You groaned and turned around to face him. You noticed that you had startled him by the way his eyes widened and how he jumped back a bit, “You’re really not going to leave me alone, are you?” At this point, your fingers were grazing your door’s handle.
You thought about it on the way up. If you did let Donghyuck stay with you, you could tell him what to do and what not to do. It would be amusing. If he ever refused, you could tell him that he would have to find another place to stay. You could use it to your advantage.
Shaking his head, Donghyuck straightened his back, “Nope. Not at all.” His determination said it all. It was weaved with hints of desperation and you knew how easy it would be to persuade the boy into doing anything.
“Okay then…” you unlocked your door and gently pushed it open, “I’ll let you stay with me.” Before he could rejoice, you stopped him, “But on a few conditions.”
He nodded, “Anything.”
“Keep up your end of the bargain, the one you said earlier,” you started, “You can’t make any noise when I say so. Boundaries are important. No long showers. Remember that you’re a guest under my roof.”
“As long as I have a place to stay, then I’ll follow your rules,” he stated seriously. You weren’t sure if you could trust him or not. After all, it was Donghyuck. Not even 24 hours ago, his noise had woken you up from your sleep.
You motioned for him to enter first since you still needed to take your home key out. As he approached the interior end of your apartment, he beamed brightly at you. Donghyuck, who has lost control of himself due to the wave of relief he was feeling, brought himself to give you a short hug of gratitude. His arms had wrapped tightly over your shoulders. You froze at the contact.
“Shit, sorry,” he muttered. He took a few steps back and smiled sheepishly at you, “W-where should I put my stuff?”
Still in shock from contact with Donghyuck, you couldn’t answer or think straight. You waddled to your kitchen counter and dropped your bags after you had closed and locked the door, “There’s a room down the… hall and to the right. That’s the extra room.”
“Thanks.” He smiled again and you were genuinely taken aback by how this boy, who was usually obnoxious and annoying, was acting. You blinked back at him and watched as he disappeared the deeper he had gone down the hall.
His duality was scary. It was unpredictable. It was the reason why you didn’t know what you were getting yourself into.
iii.
When Donghyuck said he’d follow your rules, you didn’t have any hopes in him actually following them. You knew how Donghyuck was. He’d lie to someone in order to get something he’d want in return. And this is one of those occasions.
Donghyuck gladly followed your ‘boundaries’ rule which at first seemed a bit rude as he didn’t even greet you in the mornings or evenings. You were letting him stay with you and you figured that that was probably better than nothing. After a bit of thinking, avoiding convos with Donghyuck would probably be a lot better than bickering that would probably wear you out over the period of his stay.
The only time these said ‘avoided’ convos would happen would be when Donghyuck couldn’t find the appropriate time to make noise and he would not listen when you told him to shut up. It was like you were practically babysitting a toddler, maybe even six of them, and they all would not listen to you.
It wasn’t often that you would physically go to the guest bedroom to tell him to shut up. Usually, you’d be the bigger person and try to mind your own business, but when you remembered that this was your home and not his, you decided to actually put a stop to it before you lost it.
You knocked twice on the door, hearing Donghyuck’s reply not even a moment after, “Come in!” He goes back to yelling at whoever he was playing with on the phone. When you had actually entered, you found him slumped against the headboard, headphones sitting ungracefully on his head.
“Can you… quiet down?” You put on a customer service-esque voice, “Please.”
Donghyuck didn’t let his eyes leave his screen, fingers going crazy on it’s touchscreen, “Nope.” You scowled at him, brows furrowing at the audacity this boy had.
“It’s almost one in the morning,” you pointed out.
“Didn’t know you were some kind of human clock,” he mumbled. The majority of his attention was still pinned on the screen, eyes darting towards you to see if you had gone and left the room.
You feel the expression on your face intensify. Walking up to the side of the bed, you grabbed his phone.
“What the hell?” He sat up and grabbed his phone back from you, “I’m not even that loud, quit being sensitive.” He quickly finished his game and shut his phone off, focusing on this situation with you.
“How about I kick you out by tomorrow morning?” you say as if you were bargaining. You knew that this was one way to get Donghyuck to shut the fuck up. Judging by how desperate he was before, you knew he had no other choice but to listen to you.
At this mention, he shut his mouth and frowned, “The fuck? Just because this once?”
“Quit being sensitive,” you mocked, “If you wanna stay in this room until your apartment is finished, you really need to watch how loud you’re being.” Seeing how much Donghyuck’s mood changed, you smirked. It worked.
“Fine…” He retorted, “Whatever.”
You huffed and turned to leave, the smirk reappearing on your face.

Leaving the apartment to Donghyuck for a weekend wasn’t something that you were quite in favour of. You, along with Yeji and Lia, had planned an entire weekend trip for the long weekend, and of course you were excited for it, but that was when Donghyuck’s apartment was still intact. Now that you knew we were leaving your beloved haven with Donghyuck, you were hesitant to actually go on said trip. But (no) thanks to Lia, she convinced you to come after hours of persuasion.
Upon returning, your heart dropped at the idea that Donghyuck might’ve burnt down your own apartment as well. But seeing that the door was still standing, you feel a slight wave of relief wash over.
“Thank goodness,” you mumbled.
Slowly, you unlocked your door and nudged it open. That was when you knew you had spoken too soon. What once was your nice and cozy, neat home had turned into some kind of new rat’s hole. It wasn’t too messy, but it just wasn’t something you were used to nor expecting. The coffee was filled with used dishes, the carpet had bits of crumbs everywhere, wrappers scattered on your previous couch, and the kitchen was littered with groceries that weren’t put back in its place. What made everything else worse was that you could hear Donghyuck yelling in the back, playing games instead of cleaning up his mess.
“Son of a bitch.”
You dropped your bags and made a beeline to the guest room, opening it without knocking, “The fucking audacity you have, Lee Donghyuck.”
“There’s something called knocking,” he scoffed.
“Clean my apartment,” you ordered, “I left this place clean.” You were fuming. This was the main reason why you didn’t want to leave, “I’m letting you stay here, as a guest, and you choose to treat it like it’s your own house. At least clean up after yourself.”
“I was, I just thought you were coming back tomorrow, not today,” he shrugged. Donghyuck redirected his focus to his phone, corner of his mouth angling up.
“Lee Donghyuck I swear if you’re starting another game, I’m kicking you out,” you warned. It was the same reason as before, only this time you were dead serious. This time you weren’t treating it as some sort of way to control him.
“If that’s what you want,” he stands up and bows, “Madame.” Donghyuck walks around you, hands in his pockets as he pokes the inside of his cheek with his tongue. He knows he’s pissing you off and he’s enjoying it. What the hell is wrong with him?
You leave his room and grab your bags before dragging yourself into your room. Two strikes… three and he’s out.

You believed that home cooked meals were a lot more healthier than most of the affordable food you could get when you eat out. Which is why you opted to cook your own meals for half or possibly more than half of the week. Though they were often just simple recipes either your mom had taught you or ones you’ve seen on tv or youtube, you still took a lot of pride in those meals.
Trekking into the kitchen, you scrolled through the many possible recipes you could complete on your phone, mentally noting the ingredients. You pulled open the fridge, rummaging through its contents trying to find the specific items, which you clearly remembered you bought not even a week ago. Muttering underneath your breath, your mind wanders over to the other living being in your home. There was no way that those groceries could have magically disappeared, not in this universe at least.
Closing the fridge, you make your way to the pantry, still puzzled on the missing groceries, “I swear I bought a whole pack just last weekend.” But after scavenging the pantry, none of the ingredients you needed were sitting there waiting to be used.
“Lee Donghyuck!” you called.
Said boy appeared in the kitchen moments later, posture reflecting the fact that he did not want to be there, “What do you want now?” It was like you were living with a teenager.
“Did you eat all the food I bought?” usually you wouldn’t just accuse one of something, but knowing you hadn’t touched those groceries, Donghyuck was the only possible culprit for the missing food.
“Yes, and?”
“You do know those groceries were for our meals, right?” You walked past him and crouched down to the snack cabinet, opening it, “This is literally empty! Those were all my snacks! Who said you could eat whatever was in there?”
“I was hungry? I’m a guest, I should be able to do so.”
You wonder why Donghyuck would even be acting like he was if he knew that a place to stay was at stake, “You’re a guest, but not like that…” Again you change locations, “Where the hell are your manners? You sure as hell know that I hesitated letting you live with me and you choose to test me almost every other day! A one year old toddler knows better than you! Dumb shit, why did I even agree to you staying here?”
“One year olds can’t even complete an entire sentence,” he jokingly argued, “Isn’t that a bit too far?”
“Me? Too far? You’re taking it too far! You have no idea when to stop being immature!” The volume in your voice was increasing, “You’re twenty fucking years old, Donghyuck. You should be able to know when it’s good and when it’s bad to mess around.”
Simultaneously, he stands up and gives you an expression of hurt and anger, all in one. You could tell that you’ve actually, for once, offended him just by the look in his eyes. He muttered something underneath his breath before he started walking towards your door. Swiftly, he unlocked it, slipping out and shutting it without another peep.
Stunned, you blinked at the door, confused as to what had just happened. The silence that replaced the prior argument seemed to be louder than the argument itself… and you didn’t like that.
You leaned against the kitchen counter and sighed. Where would he go? He didn’t have another place to stay and he left basically all his stuff in his room. Where would he go?
You dismissed the feelings of worry and guilt, shaking it all off before you locked the door and made your way to your room. You lost your appetite. You’ll just eat later.
In between your songs, the banging at your door caused your heart rate to escalate. You rolled over in your bed, almost falling off and straight onto your face, and ran to the door, not even thinking of looking through the peephole. Right as you threw the door open, Donghyuck pushed past you and straight to the kitchen.
“Donghyuck?” It was then you noticed he was holding bags of groceries, both of his hands white from the weight. He put them down softly beside the kitchen counter, stretching his back from relief.
“Fuck the grocery store and not letting me take the cart home,” he rested his upper body on the counter and took a quick breather, as if he had ran a 12k marathon.
“What is all this?” It was obviously clear to you what it was; bags filled with groceries, most of which were the ones he used up. The question was more specifically directed towards him and his sudden act of kindness.
“Groceries,” he replied. Even when exhausted, Donghyuck’s wit outshone.
“Well no shit…” you say, “I mean why.”
“I… thought about what you said,” he exhaled deeply. Donghyuck was irritated at how he was letting you win, “And you’re right. I’ve been acting like a dumbass. Especially since you’re letting me stay here.” To avoid the awkward eye contact, he decided to start sorting out the groceries, “I’m… really sorry. It didn’t occur to me how I was acting. From now on, I’ll actually act my age to make it up to you. I’ll act like a proper guest.”
You feel a small smile creep up onto your lips, “Donghyuck?” He hummed. “I forgive you.” You paused for a moment, “And I’m sorry for earlier… my emotions took control of me. I couldn’t hold myself back.” He chuckles lightly, turning to you, “It’s okay, it’s understandable…” He hears his own stomach growl. “Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“Can you make dinner now? I’m starving.”
iv.
You glared at Donghyuck at the corner of your eyes as it sounded like he was purposely turning up the volume of his game. The background music, character voices, weapons slashing, and shooting, they all started to drown out the show you decided to put on the tv. You decided not to point it out at first because of a goal you had made to not seem like such a buzzkill all the time.
“This is the best weapon in the game,” he grinned proudly, “It’s my baby. My pride and joy.” The tv screen in front of you was suddenly blocked by Donghyuck’s phone screen. At the same time, the couch had dipped down slightly as he shifted over to you. He held the device there for longer than you cared, hand shaking as seconds passed. It almost made you laugh.
“Mmhmm,” you hum monotony, trying your best to keep your eyes on the screen, “That’s really cool.”
Donghyuck sat back in his spot, “You know I’m not stupid enough to not hear the sarcasm in your voice.” He tapped a few buttons to join the queue of the game.
“I know… I just don’t care,” you finally turned to face him, “Why don’t you just play that in your room? I’m trying to watch and all I hear are shooting sounds.” And at that you turned the volume up by two.
“It’s… quiet in my room,” he says quietly, “I’ll just turn my volume down.” Staying with you had caused Donghyuck to realize how lonely it actually was just staying in a single room the entire night with his eyes not leaving the screen. He figured that maybe, when you were planted on the couch, he’d hang around you for a nice change.
Keeping your gaze forward. Though it was hopefully not obvious on the outside, you were thrown off by Donghyuck’s compliance. Turning ever-so-slightly, you peered at the boy. His head was bowed in order to look at his phone screen but, even so, you could see the tip of his tongue peek out between his lips. He looked so focused that you almost laughed out loud. Never did you think that a boy as garish as Hyuck would ever reach a state like that. He looked… cute.
You forced your eyes back to the television and knocked the thought out of your head like with a mental baseball bat. There’s no way you just thought that Donghyuck was cute. No way.
-
It hadn’t occurred to Donghyuck that you weren’t awake to leave in time for the bus until he already turned the front door’s knob halfway and his eyes had fallen on the only pair of shoes you would wear. He let go of the doorknob and kicked his own sneakers off of his feet, letting out a low groan only for him to hear. He knows that you probably worked on school work until late, which he found stupid since you could not, for the life of you, wake up later on to go to school.
Donghyuck knocked twice and waited for a reply, letting himself in when he hadn’t heard one. He snuck his head through the gap he made and set his eyes on your bed. He snorted at the sight of your passed out figure, leg sticking out from underneath the blanket and hanging off of your bed. Your mouth was wide open, freely giving flies a good place to hang out. Your textbooks and notes were scattered at the foot of your bed, your other foot leaving creases in them.
“Y/N, wake up you’re late,” he shook your shoulder, bending down a tad bit closer, “Wake up!”
Groaning, you shifted and grabbed his hand from your shoulder to push it away, “Donghyuck, can you please shut the fuck up?” You were unable to open your eyelids and your throat was still dry. Donghyuck continued to force his hand to your shoulder to shake you again, but you countered it with your own elbow strength.
“Hey the bus comes in a few minutes and you’re barely awake,” Donghyuck noted, “Hey wake up.”
For some reason, you hadn’t processed what he was saying. You genuinely believed he was only in there to irritate you at such an early hour. Refusing to retract his elbow, he applied a bit more pressure down onto you.
“Stop it!” you blindly swung an arm at his inner elbow which caused it to bend at contact. Donghyuck fell forward and onto you, all of it happening so fast that he couldn’t save himself. His face was only inches from yours, though you hadn’t noticed until your eyes had shot open from the sudden realization of the collision. The both of you laid there for a brief moment, staring at each other with wide eyes. It was all purely out of shock, like deer in headlights.
When you had processed it all, you rolled over, “Get out of my room!” It was then that you were suddenly aware of the situation. Classes started in less than an hour, the bus leaves in two minutes, and you were still not dressed. Curse the psychology homework you left until last minute.
Donghyuck pushes himself up, “I’m only here to help you!” He argued, “You know what? Why did I even try? I should’ve just left you here and let you miss your classes.” And at that, Donghyuck turned and exited your room, leaving your door open.
He jogged out of the apartment, slipping his nikes on as if they were crocs, creasing them carelessly. If you were the reason why he could be late, he wouldn’t know how he’d react. He just knew that he wouldn’t want that.
Donghyuck was just in time for the bus, greeting the driver quickly before finding a place to sit on the bus. He placed himself near the back at a window seat, leaning his head against the glass after he finally took the time to tuck his heels properly into his shoes. He let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding in. His heart was beating faster than normal, adrenaline running through his body, only he wasn’t sure if it was from the thought of being late to class or because of what just happened between him and you.

You always set aside Friday nights for self care and movie nights. You’d put on a cheap drugstore face mask, dump a whole bag of your favourite chips into a bowl, pour yourself a cold drink, and pick out whatever movie that looked appealing. It was rather an ordinary routine, but you liked to think of it as something special.
Resting against the couch, you decided to pull up To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, hoping to watch the first and second movie even though you already watched both when they were initially released.
“Hey Y/N, have you– oh hey, it’s that Noah dude that’s in every Netflix movie,” Donghyuck has emerged from his room, the first time since you both arrived from school. He leaned over the back of the couch and took in whatever scene was playing on the screen, “What are you watching?”
You turn around, face covered in an unnatural shade of purple, making Donghyuck jump a bit, “To all the boys I’ve loved before.”
“That sounds really dumb,” he snorted, but nonetheless he sits down on the cushion next to you.
You questioned his actions, glaring at him, “If you think it’s stupid, why does it look like you’re here to watch it.”
“I have nothing better to do. None of my friends are online,” he shrugged. Reaching over, he grabs a can of pop from the coffee table, snapping it open before taking a purposefully loud sip, “So why not?”
“I’ll only let you watch if you shut up,” you turn the volume up by one, “Okay?” He nods understandingly as he mirrors your resting figure on the couch. After what seemed like five minutes, he stretches his arm out to grab a handful of chips before throwing them all into his mouth at once.
“So… he’s only pretending to date her to make the blonde girl jealous?” It was astonishing to you how you actually understood everything he said through his mouth full of chips. He didn’t even try speaking loudly either.
“Basically,” you hummed in response.
“Does it work though?” He questioned after swallowing.
“Shhh, Donghyuck, just watch,” you flick his knee, directing an unamused look at his direction, “You’ll see.”
For a good portion of the movie, Donghyuck chose to keep comments to himself. Every time he would want to say something, he’d hold himself back, silently reacting to the rather dramatic parts of the film. It was admittedly a cute movie. He hadn’t seen anything like it in a while.
“Wait! It’s just a misunderstanding!” Donghyuck gasped. His legs were crossed underneath him, eyes planted semi-permanently on the screen, “She took that scrunched from him! He didn’t give it to her! Just when everything seemed fine.” You snickered at how into the movie he was. You didn’t react like he was when you first watched the movie.
“It’s so obvious that Gen did it,” He muttered, “Who the hell else would do it? She’s jealous as hell. Can she stop please?” From the corner of your eye, you could see that Donghyuck was close to throwing one of your throw pillows.
“I mean, at least Peter’s plan worked,” you responded quietly, sinking back into the couch, “It’s just that now it doesn’t really matter if it worked or not.”
“She’s acting like they’re still a thing,” Donghyuck scoffed, “They’re not.” He was one hundred percent for Lara Jean and Peter and it was actually pretty amusing in a cute way. But you weren’t saying that out loud, you’ll gladly keep it to yourself.
The movie slowly came to the end, wrapping up like it did in the books. “Why does she walk like that though,” he laughed, “Who walks like that normally?” He lays back against the couch and grins, “That was actually a good film…”
He was so immersed in the film that he hadn’t noticed that you had fallen asleep by the end, head falling in a strange way against the armrest of the couch. The way your chest had risen and fallen in such a calm and constant rhythm indicated to Donghyuck that you were having a good slumber. He didn’t want to wake you up. Not when you seemed so peaceful.
His eyes shifted to the thin blanket you already brought with you, clutched in your hand, then back to your face. He couldn’t help but trace your features with his eyes. There was no other time that he would be able to do this. When you were awake, you were too aware about everything he did, or what went on around you, but in this state, you were the complete opposite. He smiled softly at your serene figure, quickly shaking his head at the sudden change in image you had created in his head for that brief moment. As if it was something he’d do often, he easily laid your blanket over you, making sure it covered you chest down. I just need sleep, he thought, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
v.
Mutualistic (symbiotic) relationships in nature worked as so: both organisms in the relationship would both completely benefit from the other. It was funny to think that such relationships were always so dynamic. Who would have thought that an animal as large as a crocodile would benefit from a bird as tiny as the plover. It was interesting how it worked like that.
As weeks had passed with Donghyuck still living in your guest room, the both of you had noticed that having each other as temporary roommates actually wasn’t that bad. A parasitic relationship had slowly evolved into a mutual one and you wondered if something like this could actually happen out in nature.
You noted this shift when Donghyuck had arrived home from a study group with bags filled with groceries. Sure it wasn’t the first time he’d taken the action to do so, knowing how much you struggled with carrying bags home, but this time was different.
It was nothing drastic or overly significant, but it was something that caught your eye immediately and you couldn’t help feel your chest warm up a bit. Donghyuck had bought all of your favourite snacks and candies. Even the ones you couldn’t usually find in the grocery store you’d usually shop at. They were all bunched into one separate bag, indicating that this was in no case a coincidence. And at that thought you smiled and looked up at him, only he didn’t catch you looking. He was far too busy sorting the rest of the groceries into their respective spots.
“Thanks Donghyuck,” you say, quietly. Though it sounded like you were thanking him for doing another round of grocery shopping, this time, it was directed more towards his little deed.
“It’s no problem,” he offered a tight lipped smile before scrunching the bags into messy balls, stuffing them into a small bin with others. He turned back to the counter, realizing that he hadn’t unpacked the bag filled with your favourites, “You can do those right?” It wasn’t like he couldn’t do them himself. It was just that those were all meant for you.
You nodded, “Did you do this on purpose?” You started to take the snacks out of the bag, “These are my favourites.”
Donghyuck’s eyes widened out of panic of being exposed but you weren’t aware of his mood change as he quickly fixed his composure, “No? I mean… they just looked good so I got them.”
He was lying and you knew, “Mmhmm… that grocery store I shop at doesn’t even sell these.” You held up a flavourful bag of gummy bears.
“I passed by a corner store and got them.” Lying again. But this time you just hummed.
“Whatever you say, Hyuck.” The nickname had slipped out of your mouth so naturally that you didn’t catch yourself saying it. Donghyuck was obviously thrown off by the name, feeling his heart skip a beat for the second time in five minutes, “Thank you.”
He scoffed, trying to tap back into his usual self, “For buying food for me? Ah, you’re welcome.” Before you could say anything else, he rushed to his room, making up some lame excuse just to get out of the conversation.
It was funny because that wasn’t the last time he bought your favourites.
Donghyuck noticed this shift himself when he came home one day with his clothes neatly folded on his bed. The last time he’s seen his clothes, they were all piled at the corner of the room, dirty with sweat or generally smelling like it’s been soaking up the sun.
He dropped his bag by the room’s door, curiosity taking hold of him as he walked up to the folded clothes. They were clean. He smiled, sorting them out so they were organized the way he wanted them to be.
He could recall how he had told you he had no time to do laundry. From school and extra shifts at work, he was growing frustrated with everything that’s been piling up, finding no time to take care of himself at home. He had been re-wearing the clothes that seemed clean enough just to get through his day.
Leaving his room with a bit of pep in his step, he enters the kitchen where you had been working on some assignment. You didn’t look up, even with the hint of his presence, too indulged in your work.
“Y/N,” He strayed towards the dishwasher, grabbing a cup as if he was only there to grab water. Glancing at you from the corner of his eyes, waiting for your reply.
“What, Donghyuck?” you muttered. You weren’t trying to come off as rude but you didn’t want to lose the focus you had built up in the last 30 minutes. You typed away, ears perked up in order to hear the nonsense that could be coming out his mouth any second now.
“Thanks for doing my laundry,” he says sincerely. He chugged down the water that he poured into his glass and quickly washed the cup, “It doesn’t seem like a lot but it truly is.”
You finally look up at him, fingers pausing abruptly. Your eyebrows were raised, shocked at the tone in Donghyuck’s voice, “It’s no problem. I know that you’ve been busy. And you still buy groceries even when you’re running low on time.” And it was true. In a way it was your only way of giving back aside from letting him stay at your place.
Donghyuck couldn’t do anything but smile. He bowed his head slightly to reply wordlessly to you before retreating back slowly to his room.
-
Your thumb switched between the right arrow button and the down arrow button, scrolling through the selection of movies shown on the screen. The past half an hour, you had been trying to settle with a film that suited your mood, but since the movies seem quite uninteresting, time was being wasted.
Mentally, you kept a list of movies that stood out more than others, only not finally deciding because you opted to choose more options. The third Harry Potter film was among those, and honestly, looking at the rest of the movies, you really were leaning towards rewatching it instead of taking a risk and watching a one star film.
Double checking if you had everything you needed, you pressed a button to start it, the warner bros logo appearing after a dark screen. There was a hint of background music playing and a house appears after the logo. Then, you hear a door open and close, followed by light footsteps. You sit unbothered, already knowing what was about to happen.
“Oh, a movie?” Donghyuck’s voice bounced around the room and over the movie’s soundtrack, “I didn’t know you were watching a movie.” His footsteps grew softer indicating that he was on his way to the kitchen just a few feet from the couch. You stifle a laugh and shake your head slightly. Of course. It wasn’t the first time Donghyuck had coincidentally walked in right when you started a movie. It happened last week and the night ended up with him sleeping with the lights on. You knew that he started to like these unspoken movie nights. And you did too.
You keep quiet as you preferred to listen to the film than reply to the curious boy, already knowing he was getting ready to take his usual seat next to you.
“Is this Harry Potter?” And as you predicted, the right side of the couch dips down slightly under Donghyuck’s weight. He sets down his own cup of pop and a movie snack in front of him.
“Yeah, the third one,” you blinked at the screen, “It’s probably my favourite one.”
“I’ve only seen the first one,” he states, “So you have to catch me up a bit.”
You sighed, “It’s okay, it’s easy to understand.”
Donghyuck takes a slight glance in your direction. You were slumped, cross legged, underneath your blanket, bag of chips sitting on your lap and a can of pop in your left hand. You looked cuddly. You didn’t know it. And Donghyuck didn’t know this until he had the sudden urge to scoot over to your side in order to feel completely comfortable.
Subtly, Donghyuck shifts his weight from one side to the other, crossing his legs. His knee sat rather closely to yours. A part of him did it on purpose, leaving the rest stunned at the close interaction. You didn’t move away, mostly because your knee was covered with your blanket. You couldn’t tell the difference between the blanket and Donghyuck’s knee.
Again he took a peek at you unconsciously, brain and muscle control seemingly working separately. He admitted it to himself he liked these movie nights. Even if you both unspokenly only had three. It was different from how he’d usually spend nights alone. It was a good different.
His phone buzzed, Jeno’s name popping up on the screen: Sick again? Feel better :)
Quickly unlocking his phone, he had texted back a ‘thanks Jeno’ before setting it back down in the crack of the couch. He had declined an invite from Jeno to go see a movie in the theatres in an hour, but the idea of spending the night just on the couch seemed much more appealing than having to go out and get ready to do the same thing.
One more time, in the corner of his eye he took in your figure. Whether he stayed home because he was too lazy to get ready or because he secretly wanted to spend time with you… we’ll never know.
vi.
“Thank you so much for the update.”
You had walked in after an energy draining shift to Donghyuck getting off the phone. The way he smiled caused him to embody happiness, radiating sunshine as he beamed at you.
“You look fucking stupid,” you say to break the silence creeping up on both of you. In reality he didn’t look stupid, he looked like a cute little kid being told news he was going on a fun family trip.
“My apartment’s done in a week!” He did a small dance to express what he was feeling, his smile not faltering one bit.
Your heart dropped a bit, the feeling of disappointment overtaking it. You brushed it aside, “That’s great to hear! Now I can kick you out for good.” You let out a small laugh to indicate it was a harmless joke before you make your way to your room, this conversation being something you want to avoid.
You had grown used to Donghyuck. His noise, his presence on the Friday movie nights, the never-empty fridge and pantry due to his constant visits to the grocery store. It was weird thinking that that’d be all gone by next week. You would have never thought you’d want him to stay…?
The hell? I want him to stay?
You flicked your own forehead before shaking it as if water had gone into your ear. You shake it to get rid of those thoughts you were ever so scared of confronting.
You sat down on your bed and sighed. Funny how over a month ago you strongly yearned for Donghyuck to leave. You wanted nothing to do with him, threatening to kick him out everytime he ever so slightly crossed the line. But now, you wouldn’t think twice seeing the boy passed out on the couch. You wouldn’t mind him taking up time in the washroom or yelling at ungodly hours at night. It was clear that he had grown on you. And instead of being thrilled that you’d get your apartment back to yourself, you were secretly hoping that time would move a bit slower just so Donghyuck wouldn’t move back any sooner.
Donghyuck made his way back to the guest room, a bittersweet feeling lingering in his chest. The news he had just gotten was great. It was information he had been waiting for for the past few weeks. But he had such a good time staying with you… he wondered if your guys’ relationship would be the same as it is now when he does move back. It’s not like he was leaving the city. He was literally only moving a floor up. If you both stood directly in the same spot in your apartments, you would be closer to each other than you would be staying in the same apartment and different rooms.
Would it be weird to ask you if you would still be friends? Maybe a little bit. But if Donghyuck had to do it, to ensure the growing worry in himself, then he’d do it.
-
Symbiotic relationships were easy to understand. It was grade seven level science after all. But something that wasn’t as simple to understand was the fact that you were actually going to miss Lee Donghyuck once he moved back to his apartment.
There was still that little voice inside of you that was telling you to quit it. That he was moving back tomorrow and after he does move, you probably won’t even have the same relationship as now. It was better to cut those arising feelings short before they actually endure.
Donghyuck has been spending a bit less time in your apartment and in his, making sure everything was good to go once he returned to his man hole. You could hear his voice through the ceiling. It honestly sucked because you wanted to spend the last week just spending time with him.
“How’s everything going?” You questioned as he appeared through the front door. You were on your way to your room, notebook and laptop sitting snugly in your arms. The time was drawing close to eleven and you could feel the residence of the apartment building all going to sleep. You figured it was time for you to go to bed too.
“Almost set,” he replied quietly, “I can finish them tomorrow.” A silence hung in the air as you tapped your fingertips against the edge of your laptop.
“That’s good.” Though it wasn’t obvious to Donghyuck, you had tried to force the content tone blanketing over the mixed emotions, “Well goodnight… will I still you tomorrow?”
You remembered Donghyuck saying he was moving back early morning, but knowing him and his habits, it would probably be postponed till midday.
“Maybe,” he laughed softly, “Maybe not.”
You let a laugh similar to his before backing into your room and shutting the door. Sighing heavily, you dragged yourself to your desk and set your things down. Maybe you should wake up early just to say goodbye.
Donghyuck smiles at your door, before calling it a night himself. Tomorrow he was moving back and tomorrow he wanted to tell you something. Maybe.
-
Surprisingly, Donghyuck had woken up before his alarm which was set to go off at nine in the morning. He sighs and blinks at his door a couple of times before getting up and making the bed, wanting it to look presentable for when you come in to clean it.
After he had followed his usual routine, changing into day clothes, brushing his teeth, washing his face, and fixing his hair, he set his backpack down beside the door beside his shoes. He stood there for a moment, resting his hands on his hips and huffed. Within his chest he could feel that same bittersweet feeling he felt about a week ago when he was told his apartment was finished.
Unconsciously, he turned back towards the hallway and stood in front of your room. Is Y/N sleeping? He questioned himself. Probably, he countered. Though his head was telling him to not bother you, his body had decided that it was a great idea to knock, not once but twice.
“Come in.” Unexpectedly, you had replied, voice sounding like you had been awake for a while. And the truth was, you had been awake since eight, unable to go out and face Donghyuck.
“Can I talk to you?” Donghyuck’s head was barely pushed through the crack he had made, door hiding anything below his eyes.
You were partly laying down in your bed, phone in hand. Sitting up, you nodded, “Yeah of course, what’s up?” You watched Donghyuck swing the door so that his entire body was visible. He had a sheepish smile on his face, eyes unable to sit on you as he glanced around your room.
“I just wanted to say thank you for letting me stay here,” he says seriously, finally bringing himself to look at you, “I really do owe you shit… I owe you so much. So if you need me, then I’ll do anything.”
You couldn’t help but feel the inside of your chest warm up to your temporary roommate. A smile crept up onto your face and you nodded, “I got to be honest, you already know this, but I really didn’t want you staying with me… but I guess it wasn’t that bad at the end. No problem.”
He bows his head gently and turns to leave, only stopping to turn around again, “Oh by the way, I don’t think you’ll hear me causing a ruckus for a bit because I still need to save up for new equipment.”
You laughed and joked, “Sounds good to me.”
“Bye Y/N.” Donghyuck licks his eyes with yours for a prolonged moment, sparkling in yours. Your stomach bursts with butterflies, feeling yourself squeal internally at this type of contact.
“Bye Hyuck.” And at that he leaves.
You were engulfed with a heavy feeling that you weren’t usually familiar with when it came to Donghyuck. Often you’d know if it were hate or annoyance or amusement. But this was different. The flame in your chest was growing stronger and this time you really couldn’t ignore it. You cringe at the butterflies in your stomach that were alive than never before.
Once you heard the door to your apartment close, that was when you finally gave in to that feeling that started to grow slowly and subtly without your knowledge.
You liked Donghyuck… you really liked Donghyuck and there obviously was no running from it now.
Donghyuck enters his apartment and is immediately greeted with silence. Though he’s only stayed at your apartment for about a month, he without a doubt had grown to get used to your presence greeting him at the door. It was just weird now. He should’ve asked you to help him sort his new furniture. Then he could be around you longer for a good reason and that could give him a chance to actually ask you if you guys could still be friends.
He loved your presence. He loved the movie nights you both had and the short yet amusing banters. You two actually complimented each other well despite the fact that at first you two seemed to be polar opposites… but that was it, you guys were opposites but that was why you both went well together. He loved the friendship that you guys had managed to muster up within a month.
Involuntarily, Donghyuck shakes his head at the thought of being just friends. A friendship was far different from what he wanted. And at that conclusion, he made up his mind. He liked you, maybe closer to love than like. He wanted more, and it took him this long to finally admit it.
At that second, someone knocked on his door twice, his head snapping towards that direction. He feels the beat of his heart quicken in pace as he approaches it slowly. Answering it, he remembers when you were there about aa month ago just to tell him off. Donghyuck laughs, “Y/N? Missed me already?”
You rolled your eyes playfully, “Shut up Hyuck… you know how you owe me?” He nods, unable to predict what was coming up next.
“Well how about you take me out to dinner…” You cringed at how you worded that. It sounded like you were demanding it. This mistake caused you to back up a bit sheepishly.
Donghyuck smiles at your cute behaviour, stepping forward to keep the distance the same, “Like a date?” It was your turn to nod.
“Then I would love to.”

It took some more investigative journalism, but you and Kara found out that it was Edge who was behind poisoning the kids. He orchestrated the plan to have chemicals dumped into the pool, and then to frame Lena further by dumping the same chemicals into National City’s water supply. Luckily with some saving from Supergirl, Edge was thrown behind bars and a cure was made for the families afflicted. You sighed for a day well done and you were in the process of saying good night to Angel.
“Will Luke be okay?” she asked you and you smiled.
“Yes. He should be getting better as we speak.”
You leaned down and kissed her forehead when Angel froze.
“Hey what’s wrong?”
She blinked. “You have a hole in your shirt.”
You looked down to see what she was talking about. Sure enough, there was a tear in the fabric of your blouse, and you held it in confusion, wondering how it got there.
“Oh, weird,” you said, shrugging it off. “Sweet dreams, okay?”
Angel nodded before she closed her eyes and you left quietly, smiling fondly as your daughter drifted off to sleep. As you walked down the hall, you felt at the tear in your shirt, and as you kept playing with it, something cold and metallic fell from the torn threads and landed on the floor with a sharp clang. You paused, bending over to pick up the object, and when you inspected it, you saw that it was a bullet.
You were…shot.
And you didn’t feel it.
Your hands went to your stomach, feeling around for anything unusual. You even lifted your shirt to see if there was anything wrong. There was nothing. Just the expanse of smooth and unharmed flesh. You swallowed hard as you looked up, seeing nothing but the emptiness of the hallway in front of you. You couldn’t ignore any of this anymore. You needed answers, so you went into your room and packed a small travel bag. You’d be gone for a day tops and hopefully, you would find what you needed. As you packed, you dialed for Kara, and she answered in the first ring.
“Y/n is everything okay?” she asked, and you smiled. Your darling wife, ever the worrier.
“I’m fine babe,” you replied with the smile playing at your lips. “I was wondering if you would be okay with watching Angel. I need to take a trip.”
You could practically hear Kara fix her glasses while shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “Is everything okay?” she asked again.
“I think so. I just need to pay a visit to my mother.”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?”
The question was justified. The relationship between you and your adopted parental figure was less than stable. You’d soon go to hell voluntarily before stepping foot in her house again, but this was important. Something was going on with you and you needed answers. You had to start somewhere.
“I’ll be fine, I promise.”
Kara accepted your promise, trusting that you would be fine like you said. “Okay, just come back soon.”
You smiled. “I love you.”
“I love you more,” you replied, and you disconnected the call.
***
Kara nibbled her lips, staring at the screen when you disconnected the call. She couldn’t help but think that something wears wrong and that you wanted her to think that everything was okay. Whatever it was, she knew that she would have to wrap this up soon. Angel was already home, and judging by the clock on Kara’s phone, was also in bed.
“…Kara?”
Kara looked up to see everyone in the DEO staring at her and she hastily put her phone back in her pocket.
“Sorry.”
“Is everything okay?” Alex asked and Kara shrugged. That was all she could do.
She was so worried about you. Ever since Angel told her about your selective memory loss, she had been so preoccupied with you that it was evoking distracting. She knew she should have followed up with that. She trusted you, as she did, but something was telling her to dive deeper into it and she ignored it. What could be going on that you felt the need to reach out to a woman that you had spoken to in years? Was everything that bad? And what about when Angel got hurt. Angel told her that it was a city light pole that fell on top of her, but she had been less than forthcoming with the details as to how she got free from under it. Things weren’t making any sense.
“Kara?”
Kara blinked and focused on everyone again. Alex had asked her a question and she went on a mental spiral.
“I’m fine,” she said quickly, but everyone looked at each other with skepticism. If Kara was truly okay, she wasn’t very convincing about it.
“Are you sure?” Alex asked, mirroring Kara’s early question to you. She nodded.
“Yes. Let’s focus on what caused the earthquake.”
Alex gave her once last look, her eyes searching. Kara nodded, her eyes focused on hers, knowing that she would know what it meant. We’ll talk later. Alex nodded before turning her attention back to the giant screens in front of her.
“Go ahead, Winn.”
Winn typed on his tablet before he dragged his finger across the screen, his wrist flicking, before what was on his tablet appeared on screens for everyone to see. On them was a map, with a single dot highlighted on a specific location. From the dot came virtual shockwaves that pulsed from the single location and spread outwards.
“I was able to pinpoint the exact location of the earthquake,” he explained. “But theres nothing out there.”
Beside him, J’onn nodded and crossed his arms. “I flew from the center and covered the entire area of coverage. There’s nothing there except cracked earth and debris.”
“So, if there’s nothing there, where did the earthquake come from?” Kara asked.
“That’s the mystery,” Winn said as he turned his attention back to the pulsating dot on the screen. Kara watched as the shockwaves emanated from the point over and over, the feeling of foreboding sending a chill down her spine.
***
You pulled up to your mother’s house and put the car in park. She still lived all the way out in Metropolis and was still in the same house and everything. It was like nothing changed. Well almost nothing. She may have stayed the same, but you changed entirely. No matter what happened, you promised to keep your cool. There was a reason why you never so much as sent her a Christmas card. So, you took a deep breath and squared your shoulders, before getting out of the car and knocking on the door. It took a bit of knocking but she finally answered, and she looked at you like she had seen a ghost.
“Y/n?”
“Hello, Elizabeth,” you greeted. “May I come in?”
After some small talk and a glass of water that you still hadn’t drank from, it was finally time to address the elephant in the room. Though if it were up to you, the elephant wouldn’t need to be pointed out anyway. Just acknowledge it and move on.
“I haven’t seen you since…” Elizabeth swallowed thickly, a nervous chuckle escaping her. “Well, you know.
“I couldn’t imagine why you’d expect me to keep in touch after you kicked me out.”
“I did that to teach you a lesson!”
She still believed that? Even after all these years?
“That’s odd because that wasn’t what it felt like.”
She looked away from you, her eyebrows furrowed in hurt, and you had to resist the urge to scoff. Her little act wasn’t going to work on you. You decided that you had enough with strolling down memory lane.
“Do you know where I can find my birth parents?” you asked. At that, her head snapped up and she met your eyes.
“Why?”
“That doesn’t matter. Do you know or not?”
She didn’t answer, she only stared at you, and you could feel your irritation grow. You never asked her of anything, not since she kicked you out, and now that you were asking about your real parents, after all these years, now she wanted to give you a hard time???
“I’m sorry,” was all she said. You smirked and she looked at you.
“You have got to be kidding me. Then at least tell me which adoption agency you adopted me from.”
Elizabeth shook her head, and you actually snapped your fingers, pointing at her as your irritation morphed into rage.
“I’ve never asked you for anything once you threw me out, and this is how you want to play this?!”
“That was to teach you a lesson,” she repeated, like the explanation would make everything okay.
“That what?” you demanded. “That it was never okay for me to like who I liked?”
“You know that I didn’t approve of your homosexual escapades.”
“Oh yeah, and then I dated a guy to make you happy. Good thing for me that he knocked me up and left the moment he found out I was pregnant. I was 19! I needed someone there for me! I needed my mom!”
“Y-you were pregnant?” she whispered, horrified that she hadn’t known until now.
“Yes! And you would have known that if you had just listened to me!”
Elizabeth had thrown you to the side after finding out that you had sex with him. She wanted a good Christian daughter, one that followed every rule in the Bible. That wasn’t you, and no matter how much she tried to force you to learn, or how much she forced you to go to church, it would never be you. Even now. You were happily married and trying your damnedest with your daughter. The relationship with her sperm donor may have been a huge mistake, but Angel never will be that. She was so much more. She was the reason you never gave up, and the woman that was in front of you, was the reason why you never learned to be a good mom. You spent your whole life being what she wanted for her sake.
“Did you keep it?” Elizabeth whispered.
“Her name is Angel,” you said sternly, and you had the satisfaction of watching her flinch. “And I guess by technicality you do have a granddaughter.”
“How is she?”
You stared at her, really stared at her, incredulous that she thought that she had the right to ask about Angel.
“If you think that I would let you, with your religious, Bible thumping poison and rhetoric around her, then I must be on crack.”
Elizabeth sighed. “I’m sorry.”
It was way too late for sorry. That wouldn’t work on you either.
“Do you know anything about my birth parents or the adoption agency that you got me from?” you asked again.
“Why do you want to know so bad?”
You had to stop yourself from screaming in from frustration. Instead, you took a deep breath and looked down.
“Things have been happening to me, Elizabeth,” you started as you looked at her intensely. I keep blacking out to do only God knows what and then I have no recollection of going anywhere or saying anything. Earlier this week, a pole fell on my daughter, and I lifted it clear above my head and threw it away as though it weighed nothing. Yesterday I was at a press conference when someone open fired into the crowd. I was shot, Elizabeth, and I didn’t feel anything. I pulled the crushed bullet from my clothes but there were no marks, no cuts, no anything. The past few weeks have been weird, and I swallowed the anger I have with you to ask you for your help. Now if you know anything, now would be the time to tell me.”
Elizabeth looked at you and was quiet. It seemed like she wasn’t going to say anything until she nodded her head, deciding something internally, before she looked at you.
“Follow me. I want to show you something.”

BakuDeku caught in the rain/ Stuck at a party together
The ceilings were tall. The walls, cement grey. Izuku Midoriya stepped into the school expecting fireballs, giants and typhoons. Instead, he found hall monitors, water fountains and a cafeteria that constantly smelled like old ponzu. 1A is the last classroom on the left. His seat, in front of his worst nightmare. Katsuki Bakugou sat halfway down the last row pushed up against the window. He scowled as Deku walked to his seat and took his place. Professor Aizawa barely registered your discomfort as he began roll call.
“Mina Ashido?”
“Here!”
“Izuku Midoriya?”
“Here.”
Aizawa checked off Izuku’s name before moving on, leaving Deku completely bewildered in his seat. The day rolled on. The afternoon sun set. And Izuku was left, sweating bullets as he felt Katsuki’s glare not but two feet behind him.
~~~~
A week went by and the rain came down hard. Musutafu is taken over by grey clouds and a heavy mist. Bakugou had just finished driving Kaminari back to his apartment complex. The roads were plagued by red lights as he cruised through the city. Pellets of rain hit his windshield, sounding off like bullets in the afternoon. Suddenly, out of his side view mirror, he paused. Izuku Midoriya was walking alone on the sidewalk. He shuffled awkwardly, holding a drenched hoodie over his head. The rain had all but soaked through his jacket and shirt. Bakugou glanced back at his own back seat, where a pair of gym clothes sat, high and dry. Sighing to himself, Bakugou pulled over.
“Hey, Deku!”
The green haired boy stopped in his place. Not only was he surprised to see Bakugou, he was surprised to see him pulled over in his own car, waiting with the passenger door wide open.
“Come on, it’s a long way home.”
Deku looked back at the street. Not only was it unusual for Bakugou to do a favor, it was highly unusual for him to do a favor for him, his least favorite classmate. Reluctantly, Deku looked back out at the sky. All it took was one clap of thunder for him to make up his mind.
“Thanks.” Deku mutters.
“Hold on, hold on.” scolded Bakugou, “Don’t get the seat all fucked up. Here-”
He passed the boy his gym clothes.
“Something dry.”
Deku looked at the clothes, skeptical at first.
“A-are you sure, Kacchan?”
Bakugou glared at him, as if he regretted that he even asked.
Deku took the clothes gratefully and pulled his own shirt over his head. For just a moment, Bakugou paused. The rain glazed over Midoriya’s pale skin, painting his gym shorts onto his thin hips. Katsuki averted his gaze to the rolling side streets as Misoriya peeled off the rest and changed into Katsuki’s gym shorts. Midoriya piled his things into his backpack and replied with a hushed, “Thank you.”
Bakugou pulled over at a shabby apartment complex and threw the car into park.
“Whatever, nerd. Don’t forget your bag.”
Deku grabbed his backpack and slipped out of the car. Bakugou couldn’t help but watch as he disappeared down the narrow side street. Visions of Midoriya’s V-line were stitched into the back of his mind. Peeling out of a three-point turn, Bakugou returned to his own apartment and hastily slipped by his parents on his way to his bedroom.
~~~~
The days passed and the weather lightened up. All-Might had shown up at UA to teach a specialty lesson in targeting an enemy’s defenses. Bakugou perked up at the sound of being able to use full force on his fellow classmates. Others trembled at the sight of his convictions. Ground Zero turned out to be a giant vacant lot full of empty buildings, steel factories and gutted mills. Bakugou delighted in his classmates' terror as All Might paired each of them against one another. Then Bakguou heard it.
“Tenya Iida and Katsuki Bakugou versus Ochako Uraraka and Izuku Midoriya.”
Not only is he stuck with that pencil pushing Iida, he was forced to face Deku again in a head to head match. The buzzer counted down as he stretched into positon. Across the way, Izuku Midoriya was stretching, too.
What is that quirkless loser up to? Thought Bakugou, He should be writing his will, not looking to start a fight.
The buzzer sounded off and Bakugou immediately took off from Iida.
“Bakugou!” threatened Iida, “The nuclear weapon needs to be defended from two angles!”
Ignoring his teammates' warnings, Bakugou took off for the bowels of the abandoned factory.
“Do what you want, nerd!” he scolds, “I’m no coward, villain or not!”
Bakugou powered up and headed off, shooting flames from both arms as he traversed forward. From half a mile down the hall, Izuku can hear his enemy heading towards him.
“Uraraka!” he called out, “Can you handle Iida?”
His teammate nodded, leaving Deku alone in the towering hallway. The shadows were long and grim. The echoes, thunderous and threatening. Deku stood alone, watching the flames flick against the aluminum vents. Suddenly, an explosion blew down an entire empty vat. In the gaping wall, stood Katsuki Bakugou.
“Kacchan!” remarked Deku, noting his enemy’s reluctance to keep the building together.
“There you are!” cried Bakugou, “You damn nerd!”
Bakugou aimed one fist at Deku before Deku used his calves to launch off the wall. Bakugou aimed behind him just as Deku leapt backwards. Blow after blow, they exchanged attacks, until half of the building was left charred and dented.
“Stop running away!” scolded Bakugou, “Coward!”
Deku paused to study his opponent’s attacks. Watching Bakugou’s arm movements, he carefully calculated the arc of his enemy’s next blast. Deku jumped back and used the wall to reflect the explosion. Boom! The ash and smoke flew into Bakugou’s face. Now, even angrier than before, Bakugou leaped towards Deku’s last position. He can’t help but notice the smaller boy’s flexing arms, the bead of sweat that dripped down his temple, and his hair dampening on his side. The blood pumped through his veins quickly pumped into his cock as he felt a twitch below the belt.
“Damn you, Deku!”
Bakugou turned to watch Deku studying his moves. He couldn’t dodge if he didn’t have time to study. So, Bakugou pinned Deku down by the elbows, his knees resting on his forearms. Deku yelped as Bakugou landed on his chest. Suddenly, both boys stopped. Bakugou’s hard cock protruded from his UA uniform, pressing firmly against Deku’s abs. The smaller boy’s face went red, unable to move against his opponent’s strong grip. Embarrassed, Bakugou pulled back, just long enough for Deku to collect himself. The boys looked at one another for just a moment, before the rabbit-themed hero bounded down the hallway towards his fellow classmate. Bakugou let out an exhausted breath. He listened to his opponent’s echo bound down the hallway.
“Fuck.” he muttered.
Maybe, he thought to himself, Maybe, he hadn’t noticed.
~~~
The autumn air was cold but crisp. Bakugou was utterly embarrassed by his performance last week. Having lost not just to his former childhood friend Deku, but one of his biggest rival. Bakugou breathed angrily in the chilly air. It came out as hot huffs as he placed his backpack by the track and got ready to stretch. The dew coated the unmowed grass. Loose pebbles kicked up as he jogged in place.
“Alright.” he muttered to himself.
He was already ready to forget about last week’s incident.
Suddenly, across the track, he spotted a familiar swathe of dark green hair. That damn nerd Izuku Midoirya was finishing a lap around the bright red lane. Katsuki cursed to himself as he watched the other boy’s thighs flex with every step. Spotting Katsuki across the track, Izuku said nothing. He passed him without so much as a glance. Whether it was obvious he was thinking of the Ground Zero incident or not, Bakugou couldn’t tell. Regardless, he wasn’t about to forfeit this valuable training time because of some goddamn twink.
Stretching out his quads, Bakugou got into position. He knelt down and grazed the astroturf with his fingertips, before taking off into the mist. The cold hair raised the hair on his forearms.
Bakugou heaved and huffed as he finished his two mile lap. Izuku was still ahead of him, jogging at a leisurely pace, seemingly paying no attention to the boy.
Bakugou despised it. Why hadn’t he even shown so much as a combative attitude? After all, the other boy had practically sexually assaulted him in front of his other class.
Instead, Deku paused to tie his shoes. Bakugou averted his eyes as the other boy bent over on the side of the track. Still, Kacchan couldn’t help but notice the other boy’s toned calves, the way his hair fell over his brows as he bent over, how unsuspecting he seemed to be, just waiting for him to come up behind him. Bakugou shook off his predatory instincts and finished his lap. This was no time to be staring up rivals at the track.
The clouds began to part and the morning sun began to burn through the overcast. Deku traded his track sneakers for a pair of his uniform shoes and headed towards main campus. Bakugou paused at the eight hundred meter mark and watched him leave.
Fuck. He thought to himself. He had a huge problem.
~~~~
The weather turned half way through the week. Bakugou arrived at the track on Wednesday ready to sweat when he spotted his childhood “friend” across the way. His green hair was fluffy and curled. His skin was pale and spotless, save that unsuspecting patch of freckles that glazed his puffy white cheeks. Bakugou swallowed a thick lump of nervous spit as he watched the boy stretch towards the side of the field. Astroturf stuck to the sides of his thighs as morning breeze blew his curls to the side of his face.
Stupid, Deku. Grunted Bakugou. Coming out at the exact time to train as I do, wearing gym shorts and a cheap grey t-shirt.
The shirt hugged the smaller boy’s thin limbs. Bakugou bit his tongue at how easy it would be to overpower him. Suddenly, Deku noticed Bakugou staring from afar. He jogged up towards him and the two trained side by side, if even for a moment.
“Hey.” called Deku.
Bakugou ignored him.
The two jogged side by side for an entire lap. Bakugou pretended to be focused on the track, watching the loose red pebbles kick up around their cleats. Deku rolled his eyes. Just over a week ago, the other boy had pinned him down, a pulsing boner pressed up against his chest. Izuku pulled up ahead of Bakugou and flashed an innocent smile.
“Just so you know, I’m gay, by the way.”
Bakugou’s face went bright red. He was inflamed by the mere accusation that he could even potentially be interested in the green haired boy. Eyes flaming scarlet, he growled, “Cool. I’m straight, so you can get out of my way now.”
Deku shrugged, “Alright, alright.”
He pulled off of the track and rested by the fence.
“I’ll see you at school.”
Deku picked up his bag and his water bottle, then turned back towards the classrooms. Bakugou refused to look up from the track as the other boy walked away.
His words echoed in the back of his mind.
Just so you know, I’m gay, by the way.
What was that supposed to mean? Bakugou wondered to himself, Even if he did swing that way, he could do a lot better than small, weak little Izuku Midoriya.
Bakugou kept his head down for the rest of his jog, cheeks inflamed by the green haired boy’s accusation.
~~~~
Autumn had turned into a cool early winter chill. The grass was coated in a light layer of frost. The last weeks of being able to run at the track were upon him. Bakugou rose and laced up his sneakers as usual, when he spotted an unwelcome spot of green hair already bounding down the track. Bakugou grumbled to himself as he parked in the student parking lot.
Izuku Midoriya was already half a mile into his morning jog. If he had noticed the blonde haired boy’s presence, he ignored it, happily bounding to the beats in his headphones as he swept up rubber pebbles. Bakugou pulled up his ankles to stretch his calves. He glared at Midoriya across the lanes, watching the way he leapt as he ran.
For a while, the two boys ignored each other, until Izuku paused by the track’s exit. He stood there, adjusting his headphones while the other boy finished his last lap.
Fuck. Thought Katsuki, What does he want now?
Katsuki couldn’t help eyeing him up as he stood there. His babyhairs held damp to the sides of his face. His cheeks were flushed from that morning’s run. He couldn’t help but picture him bent over that fence, hair pulled back as he cried out Kacchan’s name.
Fucking hell.
Katsuki pulled to the side one hundred meters early. He paced by the fence, as if there was an invisible barrier Midoriya couldn’t cross. Deku slipped down to the edge of the fence to drink from his water bottle. Kacchan watched as his adam’s apple bobbed, finishing off the bottle’s contents. The cool drips drizzled down his hand and onto his light grey T-shirt. Bakugou rested against the fence to breathe. Concerned, Deku approached his former childhood friend.
“Hey, Kacchan, everything okay?”
Bakugou eyed the exit and then Deku. His wide nose gave way to a spread of light brown freckles. He couldn’t bare how deep and concerned his eyes were. He just wanted to pinch those baby cheeks together and stuff his cock down his throat.
Izuku paused at the edge of the track and set down his bag.
“Yeah,” replied Kacchan, “I’m fine. Get going-”
“Okay, well it just looked like you ran out of breath or…”
The two boys paused. Deku didn’t understand why someone so intimidating was suddenly all choked up. Kacchan took one look at the boy and grabbed him by the T-shirt. Pulling in Izuku close he opened his lips with his own and licked the inside of the other boy’s mouth. Izuku froze up as his childhood bully held him close. He whimpered as Bakugou sucked on his lip, before he pulled back with a wet pop.
With a quick breath, Bakugou came to his senses. He dropped the other boy’s collar and wiped his mouth. Then, he picked up his gym bag and headed to the exit. Deku was left panting, confused, and with a dribble of spit dripping down his lip. He wiped his mouth on his forearm as he watched Bakugou walk away.
“What the hell was that?” Deku muttered to himself.
Bakugou slammed the door to his car and rested his head against the steering wheel. A fine mist of early morning rain began to fall. Grey droplets collected on the windshield, creating a mosaic of watery mazes.
Bakugou glanced up and across the parking lot. He was in way too deep.
~~~
Bakugou treaded down the empty hallway. Usually, he was always early to class. Not to do homework or anything, but to avoid the early morning rush of gossipers and other nerds. He wandered in front of 1A’s doors, uneager to face that day’s challenges. Or even worse, to face Midoriya after a second round of sexually assaulting him on school property. He took a deep breath and swung open the doors to see Midoriya on the other side of the room, chatting with Tenya Iida. Quickly, Bakugou escaped to his seat, and pulled out a textbook to distract himself.
“What time, Mina?” asked Sero.
“Ten, my parents won’t be home all weekend.”
Bakugou rolled his eyes. Mina Ashido was having a kick back at her place while her parents were away. Katsuki could not be less interested until he heard Uraraka pester that green haired dweeb, Deku.
“Are you going, Deku?” she chimed, “Word is there’s going to be margaritas.”
Midoriya rubbed the back of his head.
“I uh- I don’t know.”
He glanced across the classroom, trying to read Bakugou for an answer.
Shit. Thought Bakugou, Is he looking at me?
Deku sighed to himself. He had been out for two years and the only luck he had was a childhood bully too conflicted to even do anything besides press his hard dick against him when nobody was looking.
“Yeah.” he shrugged, “Could be fun.”
He pictured sipping down Margaritas surrounded by straight people, talking shit about who knows what or knows who. At least it would be better than jacking off at home.
Mina’s party turned out to be a shabby ranch style house on the end of a quiet cul de sac. Cheap streamers decorated a butler’s kitchen that was squeezed between a small L couch and a T shaped hallway. Momo and Jiro started up the karaoke machine as Kaminari and Kirishima chugged a keg in the corner. Bakugou slumped in the back of the room, passing red solo cups to Denki and Eijiro. Deku entered the room followed by Iida and Uraraka. The latter paid no attention as the two caught eyes across the room. Bakugou pretended to stare at the ceiling before the feeling was too drawn out. Deku glanced down at the ground. Why was he making this so hard?
Suddenly, Mina clapped her hands.
“Hey! We’re gonna play hide and seek! Everyone get together!”
Bakugou rolled his eyes as Tamaki, Tsu and Koji Koda began to line up.
“Last one to touch their nose is it!”
The entire group hit the floor and touched their noses. Bakugou found himself following Kirishima’s lead as he and Kaminari did the same. Everyone but Mashirao touched their noses. The monkey-tailed boy tilted his head back and groaned. As he kneeled down to count to thirty, the others took off in every direction. Bakugou huffed as he made his way to the backyard, not to be mistaken with actually participating, he aimed to simply get away from the rushing crowd. As he tucked into a side alley by the house, he realized he was not alone.
Behind a tool shelf, he recognized the lean frame of his green-haired classmate. Izuku turned on a dime to see the seething mass of muscle and sweat.
“Oh!” he replied, “Kacchan-”
“Come on-”
A pair of voices alerted the two to company. Suddenly Kacchan pressed up against the wall, cornering Midoriya. Momo and Mina scurried across the lawn to a small pool house, slamming a screen door shut. The flood light illuminated the yard in a harsh white light. Izuku held his breath as he felt the taller boy pressing into him. His hot skin was sticky with sweat. His breath was hushed as he breathed down his neck. Izuku couldn’t help the rush of blood to his face as Bakugou’s chest pushed against his.
The light went out and suddenly it was just Bakugou and Midoriya standing in the dark. Bakugou stared down at Midoriya and his pale, petite frame. He was just so touchable. So easy to pick up, so easy to pin down. Midoriya looked up and noticed the blonde staring down at him. Suddenly Bakugou was prying his lips open with his own. Midoriya could barely get a word out before he could taste the other boy’s tongue. The taller boy pressed his hips into Deku’s, grinding his cock against his thigh.
Bakugou twisted Midoriya around and pinned him against the wall. Yanking down his pants, he spat into his hand and started to finger him open. Izuku gasped at the roughness of it all. Bakugou had barely spent a minute working him open when he pushed his dick against Deku’s ass. It was hot and sharp. Deku gritted his teeth together as Bakugou’s cock pressed into him, prying open inch by inch.
The grit of the stucco siding imprinted itself into Deku’s palm as Bekugou fucked him against the wall. With one harsh motion, Bakugou grabbed Deku by the hair and tilted his head up. His cock thickened as he rammed in and out of Deku’s ass. The taller boy could feel the heat building up in his gut as he thrusted in and out. The flood light came on again and just before another classmate could step onto the grass, Bakugou came ropes of hot cum all over Deku’s insides. Deku’s face flushed as he felt Kacchan empty inside him. The sticky liquid ran down his thigh, leaving a trail of cum down his inner leg.
Deku watched nervously as Bakugou fixed his pants. He couldn’t turn his eyes away from his V line, dipping down into the empty space between his belt buckle and his hips.
“Don’t follow me.” Bakugou instructed.
Deku blinked in response. The blonde turned back towards the living room, leaving Deku to fix himself in the alley. Swallowing hard, he turns to find some paper towel to wipe up Bakugou’s cum.
A loose shingle suddenly dropped down from over the roof, narrowly missing Midoriya. A small giggle escaped from over the roof. Someone was slipping back over the roof to the otherside.
Oh no. Thought Izuku. Someone had been hiding up on the roof.
He turned to see who it was, but it was too late. He and Kacchan’s secret makeout sessions were not so secret anymore.
~~~~
1A was particularly rowdy the following morning. Still buzzing with all the drama of Mina’s party, the students spread around the classroom, exchanging fuzzy stories about what exactly went down. Bakugou glowered from his seat towards the windows. He didn’t want any part of the hum drum drama of his peers. Still, he couldn’t escape the bubble of constant chatter that burst out around him.
“I heard one of Momo’s tits popped out.” stated Mineta.
Bakugou rolled his eyes.
The door opened and he couldn’t help but flit his gaze towards it. Midoriya walked in with puffy morning eyes, groggily making his way to his seat. Bakugou said nothing as the boy sat directly in front of him, kicking his bag beneath his desk.
“Left tit or right tit?” bothered Kaminari.
“Left tit.” assured Mineta.
“Shut up, Mineta!” barked Bakugou.
The grape hero usually would have cowered, but a hot tip from last night’s party had changed his attitude slightly.
“Come on, Bakugou-” he retorted, “We’re just having fun.”
“Say one more word about some tits you didn’t see, and I’ll wreck you.”
“What? Like you wrecked Midoriya?”
Bakugou snapped his pencil clean in two. Deku’s face lit up bright red as he said it.
“Ah!” replied Mineta, “I mean, like at Ground Zero. From training-”
It was too late. The damage had been done. Bakugou’s eyes flashed scarlet as he stared down Mineta. If it weren’t for Aizawa walking through the door, he would've blasted the purple nuisance clean through the wall.
For a moment, Bakugou swore he could hear Todoroki laugh from across the classroom. He kept his head down and tried not to snap another pencil as Aizawa rolled in an overhead projector.
The lights flicked off and Midoriya knew he was in deep shit. He wondered to himself if he should look back at Bakugou. Saying something would be too much. It would just give the other kids confirmation that something had happened. But maybe just a glance?
Midoriya looked over his shoulder to see Bakugou completely ignoring him. He didn’t so much as glance back as the overhead flickered over their heads. Deku looked forward feeling slightly disappointed. If things had been weird before, they were about to get stone cold sterile.
~~~
The next morning, Izuku got up and fixed his sneakers. He refilled his water bottle, untangled his headphones and headed out for the track, hoping to see Bakugou.
Cold winter air bit at his nose as he rounded the chain link fence. The red rubbery track was nearly vacant. Nearly.
In the back corner, rounding the second turn, Midoriya spotted a head of spiky blonde hair turning his way. Midoriya began to jog in place, stretching his muscles to join his childhood friend. Instead of joining him, Bakugou took one glance at Izuku and headed for the track margins. He grabbed his water bottle, took a drink, then turned for the exit.
Midoriya was left standing alone in the cold, utterly confused by the taller’s boys sudden disinterest.
~~~
An entire week went by and Izuku hadn’t seen so much as the back of Bakugou’s head. Every morning he showed up at the track to either find it empty of Bakugou just leaving. The sudden abandonment maybe shouldn’t have been so much of a surprise. They weren’t dating. Bakugou wasn’t even so much as a good friend before Mina’s party happened. Sighing to himself, Deku wished the training camp would be different. As he and the other students lined up for the bus, he spotted Kirishima in the back of the line. This was his chance. Skirting around the other students, Midoriya played coy if only for a moment, playing with his backpack strings as he approached Kirishima.
“Oh, Hey Deku.” announced Eijiro.
“Hey, Kiri.”
The other students piled onto the bus. Feeling as though he was holding up time, Midoriya finally spit out, “I just wanted to ask, because I know you and Kacchan are close and all...has he said anything about me recently? Just in the past couple days?”
Kirishima’s face dropped as he realized what this was about.
“No...he hasn’t.” replied the red-headed hero, “I’m sorry about that. You know how he gets.”
“It’s cool.”
Kirishima could sense Midoriya’s disappointment. Fishing through his mind for the right thing to say, he walked the green haired onto the bus with his arm around him.
“He’ll come around. Things just..take a while to get through his head. Once he stops being so stubborn, who knows? You know?”
Midoriya sighed, albeit reluctantly.
“Right. Thanks, Kirishima.”
“Hey, Kiri!” cried Kaminari, “Check it! Window seats!”
Kirishima whooped and hollered as he sprinted towards the back of the bus. Midoriya chose a place just behind Iida and Uraraka, using the extra seat to lay out his feet. He leaned his head against the window and sighed softly to himself. From across the parking lot, he spotted Bakugou exiting his car. He rounded the sidewalk and up the bus steps to class 1A. Without so much as acknowledging him with a glance or nod, Bakugou walked straight past Midoriya and into the backseats next to Kirishima and Kaminari. Deku rested his head against his hands. Of course he should've expected radio silence. It was wishful thinking to think it would come to anything else.
~~~
Camp training was even harder than Kirishima had thought it would be. Dragging tires up and down around the grounds was doing wonders for his core but nightmares for his skin. From across the lot, he could spot Midoriya doing the same at nearly twice the speed. Despite being physically smaller, his quirk more than made up for the lack of natural power. Under the hot afternoon sun, they breaked for lunch.
The kids sat down at long rectangular picnic tables. Those lucky enough to land under an awning were just that, lucky.
Sitting on his own in the corner of the makeshift cafeteria was Midoriya. Kirishima watched him from across the way as he poked around his bento box with a vacant look on his face. Feeling slightly bad for the kid, he turned his head to see Bakugou making his way from the training grounds. The back of his shirt was stained with sweat as he took a seat along Kaminari and Kirishima. Midoriya immediately got up to head for the showers.
“Hey, Kaminari-” stated Kirishima, “Could you give me and Bakugou a second?”
Bakugou looked just as baffled as Kaminari. Reluctantly the electric boy forfeited his seat, leaving the two heroes alone.
“What was that about?” inquired Bakugou.
Kirishima took a deep breath before saying what he was about to say.
“Hey, listen.” he began, “I don’t really know what’s going on with you and Midoriya-”
Bakugou froze up.
“And quite frankly I don’t care. It’s just...he asked about you earlier and he seemed kind of mixed up about it.”
“There’s nothing going on so you can just shut up about it.”
“I get it, and I will… just. If there was anything, you know me and Kaminari wouldn’t care. Right?”
Bakugou was silent, if not for a moment. Then, he gripped his plastic fork so hard Kirishima swore it would melt in his hand.
“Well thanks, but there’s nothing going on so there’s nothing for you to not care about. Got it?”
“Geez- okay.”
Kirishima finished the rest of his bento box in relative peace. Bakugou didn’t so much as say a word for the rest of lunch. On the way back in, the cabin was dead silent. Most of the others were in line for the shower or tucked into their rooms, gossiping about each other.
Bakugou walked the halls alone with a toothbrush sticking out of his mouth. Just as he rounded the corner, Midoriya smacked into him. He wore a white T-shirt and navy gym shorts, just about ready to head into bed. Katsuki tried not to look so surprised as the boy began to stutter.
“S-sorry Kacchan-”
He gathered his things in his hands and headed towards his dorm without so much as looking up. This was the first time in weeks Midoriya had gone without glancing across the room at him. Realizing the damage he’d done, Katsuki sighed to himself. Before Deku could get that far, Katsuki opened his door and turned to call out.
“Hey, Deku.”
The green hair boy turned around.
Bakugou said nothing as he nodded towards his empty dorm. Deku looked back at the vacant space, surprised. Putting down his things, Deku turned and shuffled into Bakugou’s dorm. It was a neat albeit empty space, nothing but a bed, a dresser and a few notebooks strewn about here and there. Bakugou tried to think of the right thing to say as Midoriya stood in front of him. Hey, I’m sorry I was ignoring you after the Mineta thing. Hey, I’m sorry I fucked you and ran. Hey, I’m sorry for leaving you alone after every chance I get. Instead, Katsuki leaned into the crook of Deku’s neck and began to kiss him down the collar. Deku’s breath hitched as he felt Katsuki’s warm tongue against his skin.
There was only enough light coming from a streetlamp outside the window to illuminate Katsuki’s outline. Hiking up the hem of his shirt, Deku could see the outline of his hip bones quite clearly. He tilted his head back and grunted as Kacchan sucked a warm wet circle just beneath his jaw. He then moved onto sucking Deku’s bottom lip. Deku whimpered against the touch as Kacchan reached down to palm the boy through his gym shorts. Deku’s dick throbbed in his hand, leaking a bead of precum through the surface of the fabric. Bakugou exhaled a hot breath down Deku’s neck, unable to contain himself.
Deku dropped to his knees to undo Kacchan’s pants. He let the buckle drop to the floor before licking Kacchan’s tip. The blonde placed his hands on the back of Deku’s head as the boy started to bob up and down, plastering his tongue to the base of his dick. A slick thread of spit dripped down from Midoriya’s lips. Kacchan used the side of his palm to wipe it along his face. He stiffened at the touch, unable to keep himself from bucking down the smaller boy’s throat.
“Mmph-nph-”
The green haired boy hummed along the base of Kacchan’s shaft. Kacchan choked at the sensation, gliding his cock out of Midoriya’s soft puffy lips.
“Get up.” Kacchan ordered.
Deku did as he said, wiping his mouth on the back of his wrist as Kacchan pressed him down over the bed. He yanked down the boy’s gym shorts and began to pump his cock against the sheets. Midoriya’s eyes rolled up as he felt Kacchan’s rough hands tugging at his dick. Sticky strings of precum stuck to his knuckles as he ran his fingers up and down Deku’s shaft. Then Deku felt Bakugou pressing his other hand against his hole. He stiffened up as Bakugou spit onto his hand to make it easier. Slowly, he opened the boy up, then pressed his dick against his entrance.
Deku gritted his teeth, waiting for the other boy to ram it into him. Instead, Kacchan took his time, pressing in slowly, revelling in every inch until he was balls deep in that little pale twink. Deku took a short, sharp breath as Kacchan held his position, pressing as deep as he could. Finally, he backed out, just to ram himself back in. Kacchan placed his hands on Deku’s hips as Deku moved to get himself off. Across the room, the closet doors held two mirror panels. In it, he could see his own face blush tinted pink as the blonde pounded into him. He watched as Bakugou’s biceps flexed with every thrust, yanking the smaller boy down onto his cock.
Deku’s face was flooded with a soft burning heat. With every pump, he threatened to ruin Kacchan’s bed by cumming in thick white streaks. Finally, Kacchan turned him around and pulled up his legs over his shoulders. Digging down deep into Deku’s abdomen, Kacchan grunted as he bottomed out. Deku gasped at the fullness as he finally came onto his own stomach. Kacchan leaned down to slurp the last bit of spit from Midoriya’s lips as he jacked himself off under his touch. The last thing Deku felt before Kacchan finished was his hot wet tongue sliding over his own, coaxing him to scream out in bliss.
The two boys came to rest side by side in Kacchan’s bed. The air was tense and silent as Bakugou grabbed a hand towel from under his bed. The boys cleaned up without saying a word. Deku figured he’d be used to that by now. He threw on his shorts and was about to pull on his shirt, when Kacchan said the first words he could think of in over a week.
“Where are you going?”
Deku looked at Kacchan and then the door.
“Oh, um. Back to my bunk?”
Kacchan blinked innocently. He pulled his boxers up his thighs and scratched the back of his neck.
“Do you think you could stay?”
Now it was Deku’s turn to be surprised. The streetlamp from across the way illuminated the room in a dim orange light. He smiled quickly before climbing back into Kacchan’s bed.
“Yeah.” he replied, “It’s cool.”
Kacchan pulled the sheet over Deku as he curled up in the crook of his arm. Deku rested his head against the pale expanse of his bicep, turning over to face the closet as they settled in to sleep. In the darkness, Deku could barely shut his eyes. There was Kacchan’s shirt on the floor. There were Kacchan’s things strewn about the desk. He had asked him to stay and really meant it. Blushing to himself, he could hardly believe it was the same Kacchan who had ignored him the entire past week.

1A helped themselves to a speedy breakfast under the wooden awnings. Duffel bags and gym bags went sliding across the ground as students kicked their belongings back towards the bus. Midoriya had woken up early to shower and get a good seat. There was no way he was getting stuck behind Iida and his self help podcasts again.
As he ran a towel through his wet hair, he spotted Kacchan standing over with Kirishima and Kaminari. His friends were caught up in some stupid fight about which power ranger was a Gemini. Bakugou simply rolled his eyes, leaning against a picnic table as he waited for his friends to finish.
Deku didn’t bother saying hi. At this point, he knew it was beyond reason to expect Kacchan to acknowledge him in public. He climbed the steps of the bus and got into a seat three quarters of the way back. He kicked out his feet so nobody else would take the seat then shoved his belongings under the bench.
The others soon began to steam in. Mezo and Sero boxed in Midoriya on either side. Momo and Tsu sat up front to get a better view of the TV screen, along with Iida and Uraraka. Midoriya barely looked up when someone was picking up his feet and shoving him aside.
“Hey- I was sitting there-”
It was Kacchan, grabbing him by the heels and swinging his sneakers to the side. He didn’t say a word as he raised his headphones to his ears then settled down into the seat. For a moment, it felt like the entire bus was staring at them. Midoriya’s face went red as he lowered himself into the corner of the window.
Of all places. Midoriya thought to himself, Of all times. He chooses know to get close in public with me.
Just then, Mineta came down the aisle, heading for the back of the bus. Midoriya tensed up as he realized he was prepping some snarky comment.
“Hey, Bakugou!” cried Mineta.
The blonde looked up.
Suddenly, Kirishima’s fist bonked the grape hero on the head. Kirishima pinched the back of his neck and marched him further into the back of the bus.
Bakugou took out one ear bed and smirked.
“Thanks.”
“Sure thing.” replied Kirishima, “Oh and Midoriya.”
Deku perked up.
“Don’t let Aizawa replay Holes. If I have to watch Shiah Lebouf one more time I’m gonna lose it.”
He smiled back in gratitude.
“Yeah. no prob.”
The others filed into the back of the bus. Bakugou put his earbud back in and soon the regular amount of gossip and chatter began to flood the air. Midoriya fell back into his seat side by side with Kacchan. The blonde leaned over and let his head rest on Deku’s shoulder. The TV screens flickered on and the intro to Holes filled the screen. If he could watch it like this every time, Deku would never watch another movie in all his life.
