hypothetically if someone where to write a medieval royalty au where thaluke happened what would be somethings that would be interesting, and in this extremely hypothetical au they've only met like 3 times also how would one hypothetically incorporate swabian food and culture into the hypothetical fic?
Well to start off I'd like to say that I would enjoy it very much if you could send me a link to whatever work you will do in this hypothetical AU. Also I'd like to thank you for giving me an excuse to geek about my culture. ANYWAY ONTO IT ALL, so the easiest, most obvious way to bring in swabian culture would probably be the dialect. However that could only really work if the work was in German, which is props isn't, so the swabian dialect (which is a GERMAN dialect) props won't be able to get to use. After that you could definitely bring in traditional clothing! Now there are a few flavours of swabian based on where you are- I for my part am from the Black Forest, which is why I'll use that as a reference.
You could definitely use inspiration from our traditional clothing, the Schwarzwaldtracht! It's quite the old and traditional thing, the red cap you can see is called the Bollenhut, and women are allowed to wear it after their first holy communion. For men it's the bit stereotypical Lederhosen-ish look.
Ofcourse there's also things like food, in which we have quite the variety. A personal favorite of mine are Käsespätzle. You can imagine it kind of like a German Mac and Cheese but better.. It is made with the traditional Swabian noodles called Spätzle, it is mixed with stewed onions, cheese, bacon and then flavoured with salt and pepper. After that it's backed for about 20-30mins and voila! It's done and in my opinion a great meal! It's unironically one of my favorites and a childhood meal. Some also serve it with a mushroom sauce.
After that we can ofcourse to festivities, which I think this one called Fasnacht will be quite interesting for your AU in terms of romance. You can imagine it a bit like German Halloween, but longer and with a much longer tradition. Fasnacht traditionally is celebrated the week before lent, meaning six weeks before easter. It starts from Schmotziger /The Dirty/ (a Thursday) to the Aschenmittwoch /Ashen Wednesday/. During this week so-called Narrenumzüge happen (lit. translated to Fools Parade). Basically there are these huge parades of so-called Narren (fools), Narren are people dressed up in different costumes as different characters.
Here you have a few! Each village or community has their own kind of Narren, with their own unique costume and "character". They are organized in Narrenzünfte (Fools' Guild). They are basically just communities for everyone dressing up as them, with officials and all. Each Narrenzunft has their own sort of "motto", it is a phrase or word consisting of two parts. One will be said by a Narr (singular of Narren), the other by someone watching the parade. What happens will be that the different Narren will come up to people during the parade, they will then say part of the specific phrase of their village/community and the other person has to say the rest. If they manage to do it they then get either candy, in some cases alcohol and even things like brezels and other foods. They also have so called Narrenhymnen (Fools' Anthem) which, just like the name says, is a anthem for the specific Narrenzunft. Generally this time is considered to be a time to "let go of all rules" and "go crazy". People dress up in costumes to go visit these parades and also go to parties. Imagine just a week of drinking and partying all around. Now ngl this Fasnacht is HUGE with many other things, this kind of Fasnacht is also very much southern. While celebrated around all of Germany, the northern version is much different. I really advise doing your own research or sending me a DM or two if ya have more questions! You can easily have Luke and Thalia meet during this or something akin to Fasnacht in costume! If you want this to be set in swabia itself...well, don't. Genuinly I can only advise you DON'T. German history is an absolute mess even outside of the 20th century. Most our known history was spent fighting each other, Swabia being one of those areas which were conquered and given up and sold etc. genuinely it's a shitshow and if you do not want to get into German history just avoid historical swabia all together. Welp, I hope I was able to help you with this answer !

wanted to know what vocal synth hcs you have... for any of them :3 curious
MY headcanons for like anything morph around a lot depending on what i wanna daydream about in that moment so things get loosey-goosey - i joked about the myriad of AUs i made for the main character of an otome game I drew a lot of fanart for a few years back that I imagine it all like this one map for b3313 i saw years ago
like this HVFGSKDJHFEksafds everythings connect but also not and some are parallel and some are unrelated and some are branching storylines for the same concept while others are like. what if they were in space. i have fun <3
BUT anyway what i was thinking about is like, most of my silly comics kind of have a weird mix of like. imagining a production company that specifies in voice and singing production and also like. old 2009 vocaloid fandom canon where synths know theyre a specifc install of software in a computer and know about the user and all LOL im more of an oldhead than i think i am.......... i missed out on the entire scene from 2018-2020 tho so even tho i love old songs and new songs theres like that two year gap thats always a surprise for me <3
SO like i often imagine all the different engines as like. separate offices or separate office buildings. all mostly in the same district tho. tin pan alley ass situation. THE UTAU building is huge and chaotic with a new addition under construction with openutau, the vocaloid building is like sleek and a bit old fashioned but slowly amping up its to its old glory, some of the smaller engines like voicevox and such i picture as like smaller offices within the same building - so someone like sora whos on both sv and vocaloid i always imagine going between the offices (engines) to do different voicework, someone like rikka runs between voicepeak, sv, and cevio talk all together. shes very busy....
a really old deprecated software like i dunno lalavoice. dectalk. etc also have an office but everyones too scared to visit. they never see people leave or go in but the lights are still on. haunted by perfect paul.
wait sorry thats not really what you meant by headcanon probably sorry for the setting overview i just like to picture them all in a place <3 with a big showbiz entertainment industry flavour because i love stories about that stuff kjdsrkfed
anyway sometimes i also move over into my less meta daydreams so something like the virvox guys who i've gotten kind of attached to, sometimes its fun to imagine them as just normal guys doing voicework in a real office building that just happens to have companies called voicevox synthv and a.i.voice on different floors HFJKDSJHksd i like picturing stories where theyre like underdog voice actors/singers trying to make it big.... its very fun hee hee
actually i like doing that a lot in general. my favourite scenario is a big first concert that almost goes wrong (maybe technical issues) but just barely manages to go through fine and connect the singer with the small audience.. a classic..... can you tell im a love live fan....
OH heres some specific headcanons i tend to lean into relationship wise:
asterian rikka and genbu i like to imagine hanging out a lot as buddies and close co-workers because they were the first three vocal synths i bought and the only three full sv banks i have currently DKJFSJdkfsdakfds like you know how some people talk about like "work-husbands"? genbu is rikka's work-big-brother and asterian is like her work-dad <3 i imagine asterian to be like early 30s ish at most so hes a bit young for work-dad status but i think itd be really funny if he got a worlds best dad mug from her. like. thanks kid. but damn.........
and yeah i have absolutely incorporated your frimomen as rikkas dad headcanon into my worldview its so good dude. i think hed be so wonderfully embarassing <3 and i think itd be funny if he got a mug from rikka that just says like "dad". no worlds best or anything. moon god work-dad is cooler.
genbu's getting a congratulations on turning 3 toddler birthday card from rikka and thats it. i like imagining them as a bit of a shenanigans duo.... like a big brother who tries to be responsible for a second but immediately gets swept up in some bullshit anyway. 20 something bro who enables ur teenage sillyness <3
relationships are a big thing for me I looooooove picturing all kinds of dynamics like friends family romantic etc its so fun. i keep calling the eclipsed sounds starry court the celestial polycule and part of that is because i didnt know what else to call them before i saw the official starry court name but also i do like those three together a lot, romantically, platonically, any which way. saros is very silly in particular. i imagine them like 6 feet tall and full of chaos and solaria and asterian as like a wonderful 5'9
sometimes i think its fun to imagine universes where the starry court dont know theyre synths nor celestial deities and like theyre normal people with secret powers they havent unlocked yet..... i had some daydream a year or two back about asterian in a slightly dystopic future unlocking moon powers by discovering ancient technology in a fallen moon. if that makes sense. i forgot why.... but i think its a fun AU
i tend to focus on a lot of relationships between synths that share software but i also think its fun to think about shared voice providers, like i always imagine sora having like this sisterly bond with the coco sisters despite no blood relation. they are sisters...... sisters forever....
i do wanna start considering unrelated synth relationships more often tho... most of the time obviously i treat miku like shes the biggest synth star because she is HJKFSDHJkdsrfjds so i often picture other synths viewing her as like a celebrity. altho some know her personally like teto or gumi LOL i think theyre BUDDIES they have known eachother for over a decade. OH and im also a mean teto truther. i love her being kind of mean and jaded HJKFDsjds i think shes ultimately softhearted but i like to picture she has a bit of a hard edge
but yeah i really like playing around with these guys!!! they are fun dolls for me <3
#ask#sorry if this is incomprehensible. theres probably lots more i cant think of rn but im always having fun. thank u for asking!!!

champion | wonho [mx]
[GENRE] smut, fluff
[COUNT] 3k+
[PAIRING] fem. reader x Wonho
[WARNINGS] PWP, slight breath play, unprotected sex, cream pie, oral (f. receiving), overstimulation, vanilla
[AU] soccer au
[A/N] so this as a combo of two requests (as shown below) and I thought I’d incorporate the two seeing as they were pretty flexible ideas. Also I’m pretty sure you can’t be in a relationship with your client when you’re an agent but pls humour me for the sake of this oneshot. I am a Brit so I have written the word football instead of soccer so I hope that doesn’t cause any confusion. Anyways, enjoy!
The humidity hits you just as hard as the camera flashes the second your leg peeks out from the car door. You graciously pull the rest of your frame out, discreetly fixing the hem of your satin slip before fixing your hair. You can already feel a dewy layer of sweat covering your skin and running down your back. You take Wonho’s arm nonchalantly, flashing him an impish smile before following the flagstone path into the restaurant.
You turn and smile confidently for the cameras shoved in front of your face, even pausing for a second to strike a sultry pose, ensuring the paparazzi had clear and sufficient pictures for tomorrow’s papers. Wonho rolls his eyes lightheartedly, patiently waiting beside you. He’s proud of you and unlike many other football players, he doesn’t see you as a trophy wife or a shallow headed girlfriend to parade around on his arm like an accessory. You’d known each other long before he’d reached this level of fame, way before he’d signed his very first contract and although he hadn’t yet popped the big question, you know he’s the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.
You slip your hand under his arm again as he leads you through the immaculate glass doors that follow through to a marble foyer. The din of the photographers quietens down as the doors silently close behind you and in its place is the soft sound of the live quartet in the centre of the room. A hostess greets the two of you, skipping formalities and leading you straight to your table, immediately recognising Wonho. She hands you a pair of menus and flutters away to get your drinks.
“This is nice,” you bite back a smile and peek over the card, your smokey eyes wide in awe and glistening in delight.
“Only the best for my girl,” he winks and you duck down behind your menu, flustered. Although you’d been together for years, Wonho still takes every opportunity he can find to shamelessly flirt with you. Equipped with witty one-liners and drop-dead cheesy pickup lines, he never misses a moment to use them on you, always earning flushed cheeks and averted eyes as his reward. It’s terribly corny, but you love it.
The service is quick, it gives you no time to even think about the hunger pangs in your stomach and the food is exquisite – unique, fresh and bold flavours exploding on your tongue with every forkful.
“So…” you begin slow, unsure if you’re right to start this particular conversation. “What are we celebrating?”
He smiles through a mouthful and leans back, wiping his mouth and loosening a button on his shirt, revealing more flesh. “Nothing, baby, I just wanted to take you out to dinner while we’re here.”
Your eyebrows furrow together as you try to understand what he means by ‘nothing’. “Are you sure? There’s nothing else we’re celebrating?”
He sighs and fidgets in his seat, reaching for his wine glass. “I didn’t sign the contract,” he suddenly admits. “Yet.”
You sigh in exasperation, your cutlery clattering in your plate. “Wonho–”
“I know, baby, but I still have time to make a decision. I don’t want to rush into anything. This is a huge signing we’re talking about, our lives will change again in… well, the best way. I hope. What if things don’t work out, you know? What if you end up hating Spain?” He leans forward, the concern completely evident on his face, eyes wide with worry and eyebrows upturned.
“The contract is perfect, Wonho. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to get out there and dominate another league.”
“It’s a team sport,” he deadpans. “It’s not like I’m up against another team on my own, is it?”
You roll your eyes. “What I mean is, me hating Spain is the least of our concerns. I just want what’s best for you and that you have immense potential which I don’t think is being shown. I just don’t think the club is giving you enough credit or time on the pitch, not to mention all of the other other issues we’ve spoken about. Signing a new contract with them for another five years isn’t worth it. It’s suicide, Wonho.”
He leans back again, one arm thrown over the back of the chair, his tongue running across the inside of his cheek, eyes as black as the night. He studies you with a familiar intensity you recognise as concentration and watch as it morphs into reasoning. He knows you’re right, you’d spent the better half of your time together as his agent, negotiating deals for major clubs and doing all the behind the scenes work to ensure he always had the best. And while it’s no longer your job, having long handed the reins to somebody else, it doesn’t stop you from giving your professional input.
Though you try your hardest to stay impartial and unbiased, preferring to think about these things logically instead of emotionally, the lines this time feel a little blurred. You start to question your motives and the proximity of personal and professional opinion. Are you really thinking about it the way a critical friend would or is it your own desire presiding?
“I know you’re right,” he echoes your thoughts, his eyes still dark and stormy. “I know you are, but I don’t… I don’t want to leave London. I’m happy there.”
“Wonho,” you begin softly, sighing sadly as you finally understand his hesitancy.
“I know it sounds stupid but really. We’ve been everywhere, constantly moving here and there and I haven’t felt more at home anywhere else. To leave and start again…” He stares into the glass, swirling the ruby red liquid around absent-mindedly. “I just don’t know.”
You reach forward and reach for his arm, gently squeezing in the hopes of being reassuring. “You know I’ll support you whatever you choose to decide. I just want you to have the best. I want you to be happy. I’m sorry for pushing you, we don’t need to rush into anything, ok? I can speak to your agent and see if there’s anything else we can do?”
He shrugs dismissively and offers you a small smile, albeit a sad one. “I think we should forget about it for now. I don’t want to ruin our last night here.”
You smile, a little unsure, but not wanting to linger any longer on the subject. “Sure.”
He flags down a waiter in Spanish and pays the bill, standing up to help you out. The photographers still crowd the valet though there’re significantly less, allowing you more room to breathe. You feel bad having brought the subject up, guilty that the night seems to have gone a little awry, but you can think of a few things to make amends.
“When did it get so hot?” You huff, stomping around the villa barefoot opening every door and window in sight in the hopes of catching an elusive breeze to relieve you from the suffocating humidity.
Even in your underwear and crepe kimono you feel smothered, as if the air is pushing down against gravity, squashing you in between. You turn and find Wonho staring thoughtfully into the night, pacing on the patio. He nurses a whiskey in one hand while carding his other through his hair, visibly distressed.
“Wonho, it’s not gonna do you any good worrying about it now,” you try to reassure his nerves, sidling up beside him. He avoids your gaze, eyes dropping low to his feet. “Hey,” you cup his cheek, forcing his gaze back up to meet yours. “Whatever choice you make, I’ll be standing right beside you. There no right or wrong, it’s just what you decide.”
He leans into your touch, his own hand resting atop yours, gently squeezing. He sighs and closes his eyes, knowing you’re right but worrying nevertheless. He wants to make you happy regardless of his decision, no longer thinking about deals for himself but how they’ll also benefit you. It’s not how it’s supposed to go, but that’s always been Wonho – selfless and all-inclusive.
“I just want to make you happy,” he whispers, afraid of disturbing the still night.
“I have you. For the rest of my life. I couldn’t be happy enough,” you lean in and gently seal your sentence with a kiss, a soft peck to his lips that wracks your body with a frisson of excitement.
He chases your lips as you pull away, further words unnecessary and made redundant by your body language, and pull the glass from his hand. You saunter back into the villa and place it down of the table, heading straight to the bedroom, skin burning with his searing gaze.
And it doesn’t take him long at all, to find you sprawled enticingly on the cotton sheets, kimono shed and left on a little heap on the floor. Your eyes smoulder, silently beckoning him forward. His weight dips the mattress, knees caging you in on either side, a low groan rumbling in his throat as he drinks you all in.
His palms sink into the sheets on either sides of your head and for a moment, your eyes lock. You see Wonho for who he is and all the traits that add up to make him. His vulnerability, his modesty, his confidence and his tenderness. His strengths and his weaknesses, greatest dreams and worst fears. And you find that despite knowing everything about him, despite knowing the best and the worst of him, you still love him. It only makes you want him more and love him more fiercely.
His forehead knocks against yours and his eyes flutter closed as he hums with content, listening to your body, your soul. Your eyes close too, your chest heaving with suspense. The air is electric, unadulterated lust and want coursing through the air, channeled through his impeccable self restraint.
He gently kisses your forehead, trailing his lips down your face before nestling into your neck. His breath fans across your skin, igniting it even further and your thighs clench at the contact. “I love you,” he whispers into your skin, inscribing the words with his breath.
You gasp at the feeling, a short rush of air escaping your lungs as you reply, “I love you too.”
But he notices the way your body tenses and reacts to his proximity, a small smirk pulling the corners of his plump lips. “Oh?” He breathes intentionally into your neck, close but not quite touching, sending you into a state of fervour.
Your heart stutters and a small whimper sounds at the back of your throat, the teasing unbearable and afraid of what he’ll do with the new discovery. You clench your thighs even tighter in a desperate attempt to get yourself under control but it’s fruitless.
Wonho’s lips ghost down to your collarbones, nipping gently on the taught skin, before travelling further south to your pebbled nipples beneath your bra. He hums desperately against your skin, the vibrations coursing through every inch of your body. You tense up again but Wonho has none of it and knocks your legs apart with his hand, his fingers finding your damp clothed heat.
“Baby,” he coos into your chest, rubbing circles into your damp panties. “You’re so wet already, I haven’t even started.” He reaches around your arched back and snaps off the clasps of your bra, allowing you to shed it to give him better access. But instead of latching on and devouring you as you’d expect he barely touches you. His lips ghost across the swell of your breasts, purposefully avoiding the area you so need him most.
The damp spot in your underwear soon turns into a wet spot, your arousal sleeping through the lace and moistening his fingers. You whine even louder, tears brimming in the corners of your eyes but he only laughs under his breath, torturing you further.
“You like that, don’t you, baby?” He asks, inching closer to your nipple. “You like it when I tease you like this, hm?”
You shake your head no, countless desires clouding your thoughts.
“No?” He suddenly latches on to your breast, tongue swirling around your hardened nipple earning a cry in response. Gently holding it between his teeth he pulls away and watches it bounce back before blowing across the wet.
Your groans of pleasure are music to his ears, his own signs of arousal becoming all too clear. He does the same to the other nipple, relishing in your torture, before pulling away entirely and flipping you over on all fours. He takes his time when pulling your underwear down, your arousal smearing your inner thighs.
“God, you’re so beautiful,” he admires unabashedly, his erection growing harder with each passing second. “So beautiful and so wet for me.”
“Wonho please,” you beg but you’re not sure what for. Your clit throbs in the exposed air, begging also for some sort of relief – any sort of relief. “Please–” but your pleading is harshly cut off.
Wonho licks a stripe along the length of your pussy, his tongue flat and warm against your folds. It offers little relief, as his pace is torturously slow, but the feeling is heavenly. His hands grip your ass tight, keeping you in place as he devours you whole, your hips rolling into his tongue. Profanities run like a river past your lips, tumbling incoherently into the humid night. A thin sheen of sweat coats your skin as your hands fist the sheets, knuckles aching with the sheer strength.
He teases your clit with the tip of his tongue, your little bundle of nerves sending euphoria coursing through your veins. He finally pulls away, mouth slick with your arousal, smirking at your dishevelled state. “You taste so sweet, baby,” his breath ghosting along your folds rips another surge of desire through you. “So sweet.”
You mewl into the sheets as he pushes your head down into the pillows, freeing his member from the confines of his shorts, but he isn’t moving fast enough. You back your hips onto him but he holds you firmly in place, his hands digging into your waist. You look back and marvel at his splendour, his broad shoulders and chest and rippling muscles in his arms; such a stark contrast between size has your insides fluttering.
Wonho rubs the tip of his cock along your folds, your slick coating his member, before easily slipping inside of you. You collectively gasp as he bottoms out, a guttural groan sounding from the depths of his chest. He stills for a second, gaining composure and adjusting, his breathing laboured as he reaches the near end of his self-control.
“Baby, you’re so tight,” he marvels at the way you feel, the way your walls flutter around him so deliciously. “God, you drive me crazy.”
He moves his hips slow, rolling them steadily and teasing you, leaving you begging for more. His vice grip prevents you from getting what you want and although you love it and hate it in equal parts, you start to grow dangerously impatient. “Wonho–”
“Shh, baby, I know what you want,” his pace grows quicker, though it does nothing to quench your thirst. It’s an agonisingly slow build up, the heat pooling in your stomach hotter than lava, but you relish every inch of him. Every movement, every touch and every breath you hold dear and savour for the moment, saving them for your darkest hours.
Soon, the room fills with the sound of slick skin against skin, the both of your sweating profusely from the efforts. His thrusts are relentless, his purchase tighter than ever and your cries are voluble, incessant yet incoherent; hungry for more yet insatiable.
Your walls flutter around his cock as his head hits your g-spot, his hand pushing your head further into the sheets to get a deeper angle. You feel your slick on the duvet, certain that you’ve completely ruined the bedding, but the idea turns you on further.
“Get those fingers working, kitten,” he demands, pulling one of your arms back. You obediently fumble to get your hand on your clit, working figures of eight into your bud in time to his thrusts. “Good girl. That’s my good girl,” his words get lost in his grunts as he works himself towards release.
Your eyes squeeze shut as the familiar feeling in your gut blooms and threatens to spill over. “Wonho, I’m so close. Fuck, I’m so close, I’m gonna cum–” your words string together unintelligibly, filling the room with lewd confessions.
“You’ve taken me so fucking well, baby. Are you ready to cum for me?” He asks between gritted teeth. “You ready to cum all over my cock?”
You nod fervently, an inconsolable sobbing mess, your fingers working overtime to keep up with him. “Yes, Wonho please!”
“Fuck,” he curses under his breath as he feels you come undone, your juices squirting everywhere and running down your hand. Your walls spasm around him as the knot in your stomach unravels, your cries subsiding into mewls of overstimulated pleasure.
His grunts and moans become more primal, sloppier and quicker, signalling his near end. “Baby, I’m so close, so close,” he whispers, leaning forward to bury his face in your neck. His chest is cold against your back, puddles of sweat making you shiver against him. His self-restraint has long snapped, his hips pounding and pistoning with no other intention but to find his release. And he finally does.
Your name falls from his lips like a heavenly prayer, as if you’re his saving grace, as he loses himself completely within you. His warm seed spills inside and coats your walls, dripping out along with your own cum. You both lay in a heaving, sweaty heap, Wonho still buried deep inside you, wincing as he feels you still flutter around him. His breath against your neck sends shivers down your spine and despite the awful humidity, your hairs stand on end.
He finally rolls over and pulls out, a small, hoarse cry escaping your throat.
“Fuck,” he pants, shying away into his side of the bed, timidness taking over.
“Yeah... fuck,” you both burst into giggles, laughing away as if he Wonho hadn’t been fucking your brains out five minutes ago.
“This might have swayed me in my decision making,” he admits, throwing an arm over his face.
“Yeah?”
“Mm,” he confirms.
You push up off the bed and sway your hips as you make your way to the bathroom, cum dripping down your thighs and glistening in the dim light. You smirk as Wonho peeks from behind his arm, his cock twitching in response. “Let’s see if I can sway you further.”

Australian Witchy Supplies Stores
Kmart
Kmart is hands down my favourite place to shop. You can get all sorts of witchy things from Kmart, you just have to know where to look. Kmart stock candles of all sizes from just $1AUD. I've also found essential oils for $3AUD and oil diffusers for about $20AUD. In the arts and crafts area Kmart has a great range of notebooks, stationery, stamps, stickers, washi tape, paper embellishments; basically anything you'd need to start or add to your grimoire. Also in the craft area, I have picked up some suede lengths that I've hung crystals on and turned into necklaces & bracelets. Kmart has a selection of coloured ribbons that could be used to decorate your altar or to tie in your hair. In the home decor area I've spotted some cute little shelves that would be perfect to display crystals on as well as little drawers to keep them safe in. There's always cute little dishes & jewellery trays that would be perfect for crystals or keeping witchy trinkets in. If you're not bothered by what your storage shelves/drawers look like, the storage section has everything you'd ever need from tiny jars to big heavy duty containers. In the gardening/outdoor section you can find plant seeds and basic beginner gardening equipment as well as potting mix, pest control stuff and even cute pots to start your seedlings in. I have found some lovely pieces of witchy clothing from Kmart (bell sleeved shirts, cardigans, flowy maxi skirts) - if you're petite like me don't forget to look in the girls section, my best friend found the cutest celestial themed skirt from the girls section that fits her perfectly even though she's 21. The girls section also has a waaay better sock selection than the ladies area, we have both picked up some black frilly socks and I've noticed brightly coloured striped socks for anyone daring enough to wear them haha. Finally, don't forget to check out the accessories section - there's always cute witchy hats and a wide variety of jewellery and hair accessories starting from just $1AUD.
Big W
Big W is another Aus Wide department store that sell lots of cool witchy bits & pieces. Big W also sell candles although they probably aren't as cheap as the Kmart ones. I've noticed wax/oil burners at Big W as well. In the home decor section there's always little trinket trays - I've found lovely little ceramic bowls in the kitchen section for about half the price of the trinket trays so don't be afraid to scout around in other areas for multipurpose items. While you're in the kitchen section take a peek at the selection of jars and glassware. I always check out the herbs and spices racks/jars/storage. If you're after basic grimoire supplies, Big W should definitely have what you're after; notebooks, pens, basic craft bits & office supplies. Big Ws gardening section is (IMO) better than kmarts as it has a wider range of gardening accessories and they stock higher quality brands. Same as Kmart, Big W sometimes has cool witchy clothes in the clearance section (I always try to buy things on sale to save $$ [also keep in mind we don't have coupons in Aus!]). Another thing that Big W does better than Kmart is the book section. I bought my very first tarot deck from Big W (its a fairy themed deck by Doreen Virtue) for $15AUD. They usually have 4 or 5 different tarot decks to choose from as well as angel oracle decks and kits. I bought an awesome dream interpretation book from Big W just the other day. Finally, Big W ALWAYS has jewellery on clearance for as little as $0.50 - don't be afraid to buy some pieces of jewellery and DIY them to be a little more witchy or personal to you.
Spotlight/Lincraft
Probably the biggest craft stores in Aus, Spotlight and Lincraft stock literally EVERYTHING arts & crafts wise. Both stores have such a wide variety of stationery, pretty craft papers, stickers, fabrics, beads, pens, paints etc etc. Too much to list haha. Spotlight has a decent selection of candles although be prepared to spend some $$ here because they are pretty pricey. I always check out the Spotlight home decor section because they have really pretty bits and pieces.
Discount Variety Stores
Almost every town/city in Aus you can find at least one discount store. These are the BEST places for candles, incense, essential oils, oil burners, IMO. You can get any of the above for under $5AUD. I've even seen herbs and sage sold at various discount stores. Occasionally discount stores stock crystals (tumbled rocks or sometimes raw crystals in a little set). The arts and craft area usually has all your grimoire needs and then some - don't forget to look in the cards and wrap section; some wrapping paper has really pretty designs sometimes better and cheaper than stickers. This is usually where the ribbons are kept as well, in my experience discount stores have a better ribbon selection than Kmart and Big W. Discount stores generally have a gardening section; seeds from $2AUD, basic gardening tools, basic pots and basic pest control. Probably the best thing about discount stores is the glassware and jars area. You can pick up the tiniest little jars from $0.50 with cork stoppers or twist top lids to big solid 10L jars. If you want LITTLE TINY jars always have a look in the craft section, sometimes they have glitter in them but you can always decorate your grimoire with the glitter or incorporate it into your makeup to empty the jars. Organza or drawstring bags can also be found in the craft isle. It's usually where the sealable bags/zip lockbags are kept - these could be really useful for keeping seeds in, dried herbs, dried flowers etc. The craft area has lots of bits and bobs including little packets of bells, which are sometimes hard to find. Finally, as well as bells most discount stores sell wind chimes - pretty noises to attract faeries.
Officeworks
If you need a one stop shop for just your grimoire needs, Officeworks is it. They stock literally everything you could need from paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, art supplies, office supplies like glue, staplers, erasers etc etc etc. The coolest thing I've found in Officeworks is parchment paper, it was $6AUD for 20 sheets of high quality parchment paper. If you have an online grimoire, Officeworks still has everything you could need from memory cards, USBs, external hard drives to actual laptops, tablets etc.
Woolworths/Coles
The supermarket is where I buy all my herbs and spices (well the common ones, anyway). Right beside the herbs and spices you can usually find the salt - a basic protection tool for every witch. Supermarkets also sell matches and sometimes unscented candles. Finally, the tea and coffee section is my very favourite section in the supermarket. My local Woolies stocks almost every common tea variety you can think of and if theres a tea flavour not available I check my local T2 or Teacentre.
Australian Geographic
This is a shop I wouldn't think many witches would bother checking out, but please do next time you pass by one. I picked up the prettiest agate bookends on sale and it was hard not to buy ALL of them haha. Aus Geo also have a decent selection of books, some particularly interesting ones on rocks, minerals, fossils as well as a TONNE of astrology books. Also they have the best selection of telescopes if you're really into star gazing.
QBD
This is the only book shop I've found that have a good selection of witchcraft, wicca, divination and the occult books. If you're not sure where to look, I find all the witchy books in the New Age section. There's usually a wide variety of tarot decks and kits as well so if you're a beginner tarot reader this is where I'd look for your first deck - pick whichever one calls out to you. There's no right or wrong first tarot deck, you can always try others if the first one doesn't vibe with you.
The Book Depository
This is my favourite online book shop. All of my most interesting and informative witchy books have been bought from the Book Depository. Shipping is free worldwide. Please check this site out if you're on the hunt for witchy books! You can also get tarot decks off the Book Depository.
Op Shops
Op shops, donation shops or second-hand stores is probably where I have found some of the most unique, cool witchy bits ever! All of my crystals live in delicate crystal bowls that I have sourced from several different op shops for just $0.50- $2.00. I keep my sea shells in second hand vintage teacups. Almost every doily in my house is from an op shop or passed down from my mum/grandma. I picked up an awesome vintage tarot book recently from an op shop - you really never know what you will find you just have to start looking and be willing to dig for the gold.
Aliexpress/Wish
This is another place I shop that I'm not sure many witches would think to look on. Aliexpress is where I buy most of my crystals, you can literally find any crystal on there for pretty decent prices. I have bought rose quartz, amethyst, clear quartz, labradorite, celestite, tigers eye, blue goldstone, aura quartz, citrine and carnelian pieces both raw and tumbled off aliexpress and have yet to have any issues at all with any order. Shipping takes a while but when I'm paying a couple dollars for a hunk of amethyst I don't mind waiting. Wish also has a decent selection of crystals as well as rune stones and crystal balls. Both apps have reeeally cool inexpensive jewellery, crystal necklaces, woven bracelets - I've also found really pretty vintage looking brooches and pins.
Other
Finally, if you are ever holidaying or live by a beach you are pretty much guaranteed to find a hippie crystal shop. Some of my most magical crystals were found at little locally owned stores by the beach.
I hope this list was helpful to any of my fellow Aussie Witches ! If you have any recommendations to add, please don't hesitate to let me know 😄
