I have no idea if there is even enough time in the next few episodes to get as far as bsd 110 but what if the last few scenes adapt the unreleased bsd 110.5/111 chapter? What are we going to do then?

BSD thoughts/predictions at this point
mostly rambling, warning for manga spoilers
Teruko: Teruko is killed first by Ame-no-gozen as she hesitates to attack Fyodor, thinking she saw Fukuchi. The flashback shown right before she dies is of her origin as a Hunting Dog and shows how she’s had to fight constantly since she was only a few months old. The last emotion she shows is relief, smiling with tears in her eyes. The feeling of not having to keep up an intense amount of mental and physical strength would be similar to relaxation, and her death (getting liquified, aka glooped) represents that.
Kunikida: Kunikida dies next, using his final moments to tell Atsushi and Tanizaki to escape. His ideals prioritize protecting people. As he disappears, his last words are “Even if I die, my ideals will live on.” His notebook is left on the ground. This isn’t the first time Kunikida has sacrificed himself for his ideals, such as jumping from the helicopter and losing his arms, which he didn’t regret. He is turned into air, evaporated, but his ideals linger in that air and won’t truly die.
Tanizaki: Tanizaki is caught off guard, killed as he tells Atsushi about the pen he hid. The last moments he had were aimed at protecting Naomi (who is not actually his sister, thank god). His death is similar to Teruko’s but he seems to crumble a bit rather than completely liquify. He’s not ready to die but he did entrust someone else with the information so he isn’t despairing over that.
Kenji: Kenji was pretty optimistic (as he usually is) especially since he was able to land a hit on Ame-no-gozen. His hand is cut off suddenly, and he dies quickly from that, indicating that even non-fatal wounds (at least immediately, or by anime standards) from Ame-no-gozen can kill. He keeps up his optimism, telling Atsushi to keep going, as he is shattered like a glass pane. He’s still strong but even he cracks under the strength of Ame-no-gozen.
All of these characters were eventually dissolved completely and inhaled by Ame-no-gozen, which is the main commonality. This combined with Asagiri’s tendency to keep characters alive long after it seems impossible indicates that they aren’t actually dead. Of course it’s possible that this is the twist and they really did die, but it seems more likely that they’ll be released from Ame-no-gozen when it’s defeated. (Whether this would be healed or still with severe wounds is unclear, but “To the Detective Agency, being almost dead is the same as being in perfect health!”)
Akutagawa on the other hand didn’t dissolve after being stabbed by Ame-no-gozen. He’s probably still alive
In terms of predictions:
Lucy and Kyouka are still in Anne’s Room, so they’re safe for now and probably won’t be killed (consumed? glooped?)
Dazai and Chuuya are still in Europe. Probably lucky for them since I doubt Dazai can get close enough to Ame-no-gozen to nullify the powerup loop. I would like to see Chuuya vs Ame-no-gozen though
Ranpo doesn’t get involved in fights but his strategy is going to be important so he’ll pop up at some point
Yosano is still in the airport I think? I haven’t seen much of her in recent chapters. She and other characters still in the area (Tecchou, Aya) will get involved somehow but I’m not sure how. On second thought Tecchou might be too oblivious through the whole thing

My Review of Magical Girl Site
How did I get into this anime? I…huh…Good question! I don’t recall. Probably some other anime reviewers mentioned it and I put it on the Amazon/Netflix list hoping I won’t have to watch it any time soon. Two years later and here we are!
Aya Asagiri’s life is a living hell. She is constantly bullied at school and no one does a thing to stop it. Her teachers don’t care about her well-being. Her father barely notices she exists. And to top it off, her brother beats the crap out of her just for him to relieve stress! Is it any wonder that she wants to commit suicide? One night, her computer mysteriously turns on to a website, promoting Aya to become a magical girl. She brushed it off and thought nothing of it…
That is until the next morning when she finds a note and a gun in her shoe locker. After being tortured by her bullies and almost raped, she finds herself at the end of her ropes and pulls out the mysterious gun. When she pulled the trigger, her bullies disappeared. Turns out, the targets are transported to another place. In the case of some of her bullies, they were transported to in front of a moving train.
Karma, bitches!
It’s unknown why Aya was specifically chosen to become a magical girl, but fellow magical girl Yatsumura feels she could use Aya’s magic to combat a looming threat to other magical girls. But they must not overuse their magic, otherwise they will die.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: As of this moment, this anime seems to be in the capable hands of Amazon Prime. And we all know how well they treat animes, right?! Hahaha! Funny! Anyways, don’t expect a dub! The cast seems to be comprised of many female seiyuus I’m not particularly familiar with. I mean with the exception of Aina Suzuki, I hear her sounds every day thanks to the Love Live game apps! Add to that the creepy, raspy voice of Frieza playing the site administrator! One voice actor however I heard the second he let out a creepy, hygena-like laugh, I knew exactly who this crazy bastard was! Nobuhiko Okamoto plays a great psychopath. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.
*Aya is played by Yuuko Oono
*Yatsumura is played by Himika Akaneya
*Sarina is played by Haruka Yamazaki (known for Ruka on Hayate the Combat Butler, Mero on Monster Musume, Aika on High School DxD, and Natsumi on Danganronpa 3)
*Nijimi is played by Yuu Serizawa (known for Shera on How Not to Summon a Demon Lord)
*Shioi is played by Aina Suzuki (known for Mari on Love Live Sunshine)
AUTOMATICLY THROWN ON DISLIKED LIST: Okay children, who automatically ends up on my hate list for life?
Fuckers who commit rape and fuckers who kill animals for fun!
Damn right! Give this anime some credit for not showing Aya’s bullies throwing a cat in front of a moving train. If this were 10 years ago, they probably would have animated it and I would have been puking afterward. I’m not sure which of Aya’s bullies threw a cat in front of a moving train, but for the time being, I’m throwing them all on the list.
And while I’m here, Sarina! She was like the ring-leader in the bullying of Aya. I’m almost certain she’s the bitch that killed the stray cat but I have no proof of that. With my history with horrible people like that, I have no sympathy for bullies in the slightest and feel she got what was coming to her. Bitch, you got that big, ugly scar on your neck for a reason. You got what was coming!
DEFINITELY BELONGS IN DISLIKE HISTORY: Now that I got the usual gripe off my chest, gotta add Aya’s onii-chan, Kaname! Sweet merciful crap, do I love hearing Nobuhiko Okamoto play a psychopath, but this is going way too far. And Kaname is just irredeemable! He has this complex that makes him think he’s on God-tier and everyone else is beneth him. Now I do have to hate Kaname and Aya’s father for placing this kind of pressure on Kaname and beating the shit out of him if he gets bad grades. But good fuck, this guy just pushes past the line of no return when he tries to manipulate little girls, steal their power, and lose control. And this wasn’t like he had no control over his own body and wants to stop this from happening! Kaname meant every thing he did to his sister and her friends. OH…and that one guy he forced to off himself! I just can’t even with this guy!
SHIPPING: I know a lot of people ship the hell out of Aya and Yatsumura and yeah, I can see that and I would ship them too. But for reals, I just want these two girls to live a life of peace together for as long as they’re around. For fuck’s sake, did you see the shit they put up with in their lives? Aya was bullied relentlessly at home and school. Yatsumura watched her whole family be slaughtered by a creep. These girls deserve some sort of peace! I know this is the shipping category, but I felt the need to say this.
STICKS: Okay anime, what are you doing? Aya uses a magical gun! Sarina uses a magical yo-yo! Nijimi uses magical panties (insert immature laugh here)! Yatsumura uses a magical remote! How hard is it to have them say that! And I probably shouldn’t put blame on the anime and holler at the manga! But calling magical items “Sticks”, that feels…I don’t want to say stupid, but I can’t think of any other word to go along with that. I just feel like the manga was on some deadline and they were frantically finishing what to call their magical items and just went “FUCK IT, IT’S STICKS”.
COULD HAVE FOOLED ME: In the “Could have fooled me” category we have a boy who identifies as a girl magical girl! Man, 2018 definitely was the progressive AF year! I mean, we had Lily from Zombieland Saga, we had the girls who transformed into magical buff men in Magical Girl Ore, and now THIS! So we have Kiyo! An openly transgendered magical girl that’s not a token joke! Okay, well done guys! Pearl points all around!
ENDING: Early in the series, we learned about a moment called “The Tempest”. A catastrophic even set to take place once enough negative energy is caught. There are a lot of Magical Girl Site administrators that take advantage of “POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS”. They pick the most unfortunate girls as pawns in their game. And once “The Tempest” hits, everyone will die and the world will start over anew. Aya and Yatsumura end up meeting new magical girl allies and even a few that were coersed by different administrators. Not to mention one of Aya’s bullies is a magical girl too with a score to settle! What could be worse?
How about we add Aya’s disgusting brother to this mix?! As I’ve mentioned before, Aya’s brother Kaname would use Aya as a personal punching bag in order to get rid of stress. When Aya became a magical girl, she would spend more time with Yatsumura or the other girls, leaving Kaname to go without slugging his sister. So fuckface over here manipulates another magical girl, Nijimi to do what he says. This leads to him stealing Nijimi’s underwear and gaining her magical power of mind control. I never thought I would have to say a sentence like that, but here we are.
Kaname went out of control with this power as he managed to injure all of the girls and give a fatal blow to Nijimi. But another possible enemy dropped a bomb on us when they kidnapped Kaname. THEN, these girls are targeted at Nijimi’s funeral and they almost died. Add another plot-twist, a police officer that’s been seen from time to time in a lot of the tragedies in the show is in cahoots with one of the magical girl site administrators. This keeps getting fuckier by the minute! Well, the girls felt it was time to take action and try to take out the administrators that screwed them with this doomed fate. But once they took out one of the administrators, they came across an ugly truth.
Sight administrators are magical girls who died previously!
Yeah, not that big of a shock! Madoka Magica gave us magical girls who end up so corrupt that they become witches they’re supposed to fight. While some of the administrators ended up falling to these girls, Nana (the creepy one we’ve been watching since ep 1) is the hardest one to take out. She ends up killing Yatsumura (because she used up too much of her power), but then manipulates her to become an administrator.
Once she manipulated Yatsumura, she ends up going after Aya. And after a lot of back-and-forth between the two girls, Yatsumura was able to snap out of Nana’s control and they managed to take out Nana. And we end the series with a brighter future for Aya and Yatsumura as their lives become a little less unfortunate.
Yeah, few issues here!
1.) There are still a butt-load of site administrators. Isn’t there still a “Tempest” going to happen? 2.) Aya and Yatsumura’s lives aren’t in danger anymore after using fuck-tons of their power? WTF?! 3.) What was the point of Aya shooting herself to get Yatsumura back? I am not following you. Is this some sort of Insception shit?! 4.) That detective! Misumi was his name? Why was he just casually talking to Nana a few episodes back? 5.) Why don’t we see him until the final few moments in the finale? 6.) WHY DID HE RAPE KANAME?! 7.) WHY WAS THIS SCENE A THING? 8.) I don’t want to say Kaname deserved it, buuuuuut… Uuuggghhh…Mumble, mumble. I can’t finish that thought. 9.) These site administrators are probably pissed and are going to want revenge on these magical girls. What’s going on here?
…Let me guess, I need to read the manga to get all my questions answered…
FUCKING FIGURES!
Seriously...what Misumi did. That scene is forever etched in my brain forever. Next to that scene of Kaname wiggling his junk in front of a guy.
This anime was pretty bad. No wait...
This anime was way too edgy for me! Episode 1 was just absolute torture porn involving Aya. The first episode managed to combine the bully scene in Vivid Strike, the puppy killing scene in Elfen Lied, and every bullying episode of Hell Girl all into one single episode. As for the rest of this series, they go above and beyond to grab some of the worst aspects of other animes and implement them here. Aya’s older brother almost has a God-complex that rivals that of Light Yagami of Death Note. Nijimi has a devoted fan that’s almost crossing over from the movie Perfect Blue. Body mutilation scenes on levels not seen since Higurashi! And fill this world up with the worst kinds of humans imaginable like in Elfen Lied! This was just too much hatred! Too much!
Add to that, there’s absolutely no resolution to this story. Yes, Aya and Yatsumura are alive and together. But guys, there are still some other-worldly strong site administrators looming! Tempest is still happening. KANAME IS STILL FUCKING ALIVE…literally and figuratively speaking! And with how much this anime has been panned by anime fans across the board, I doubt if this anime will ever receive a sequel. Guys, if you want a really good 12-episode anime about magical girls with an edge, just watch Madoka Magica. But if you’re a curious idiot like me, whatever, you do you!
As this anime is an Amazon Prime exclusive, I’m afraid that’s the only legal outlet for this.
Now that this is over, my next Amazon/Netflix/Crunchyroll anime is…
Grand Blue!
Oh, it’s set in a cute ocean town. Am I going to enjoy some cute absurdity like I did with Tsuritama?
Sort of!
OH GOOD FUCK, WHAT FRAT HOUSE WAS THIS BIRTHED FROM?!

Theories on BSD manga current arc
I know, I know, Dead Apple spoilers are the hot topic now, but I've got some thoughts on Bungou Stray Dogs manga that I’d like to share.
Spoilers for anime-only fans, spoilers for manga chapters 46+ (and even bigger ones for chapters 54+).
It is quite a long post, sorry!
First of all I have to admit, that I am losing a track of the plot. Too many new characters (shown and hinted), organizations, too many mysteries. Still BSD is rather conventional in terms of storytelling, so one can be sure, that ‘good guys’ will win. I.e. even though ADA is in dire situation now, they will find a solution somehow.
The question is how many chapters/volumes they will need and where do they find a solution.
Take Cannibalism arc (chapters 46-53). It had very strict time limit, so it was evident, that the conflict will be resolved fast, rather than dragged for 4-5 volumes. The outcome was easy to guess: either one of the bosses dies or the ADA and Mafia capture virus ability user. As you know, the latter had happened.
Now the situation looks much more complicated. The ADA were framed, the reality was rewritten, so even everyone memories were altered. The government wants them dead. Besides we don’t know the extent of the Book reality bending abilities. Had it affected Dazai, for example? I.e. if somebody asks Dazai (or checks his memories), whether the ADA had a plan to capture hostages, they would find a confirmation ‘Yes, it was ADA’s plan and the ADA is the "Decay of Angels” group’. Do Ango and Natsume also believe now, that ADA members are criminals? Ranpo is sure, that Taneda will testify on the ADA’s behalf.
So, suppose the ADA escapes their pursuers, rescue Ranpo and Dazai and then?.. How would they restore their good name? The obvious answer is ‘Cancel the reality altered by the Book page’. BUT! The Book cannot be affected by abilities (see chapter 28, Fitzgerald explains that to Atsushi). If this is valid for a single Book’s page (why not?), then Dazai cannot nullify what was written there, so the ADA won’t be able to go the simplest way.
Here goes Crazy Theory 1: Ango’s ability ‘Discourse on Decadence’ can somehow counteract Book’s altered reality. Not the Book itself, but the consequences.
Pro: It seems that Ango has non-combat ability. He is more a paperwork guy and doesn’t go into the battle. Other than that it is hard to make any guesses.
Contra: Having an ability that allows to resist altered reality (or something like that) is not that useful skill -- not so many users we’ve seen can deceive others perception of reality (eg. Tanizaki’s illusions, Oguri’s cleaning). So this kind of resisting ability would be too convenient to have in this arc. Also it is strange, that such ability wasn’t used to clear charges against Kunikida, when Oguri had destroyed the evidence.
Note: I think, Ango’s ability will be revealed soon anyway. Either this arc or the next big one.
Crazy Theory 2: The ADA will rescue Oguri and ask him to remove the evidence. However Oguri cannot change people’s memories, so the government still will be sure, that the ADA are criminals. It may be harder to condemn them without hard evidence, but they still aren’t seen innocent.
Pro: A character, that had appeared at the beginning of the arc is not forgotten and will play an important role!
Contra: That doesn’t resolve the conflict completely. Something else has to happen after.
Crazy Theory 3: Poe’s ability will be relevant for the resolution of this arc.
Pro: A book against the Book? Why not. Also, how is Chuuya?
Contra: His ability was brought up during Cannibalism arc and at the beginning of this arc. That’s quite a lot for non-ADA and even non-Mafia character. As much as I am happy to see Poe, I want others to shine too.
Crazy Theory 4: There is a loophole, that allows Dazai to nullify the Book’s effect.
Pro: We know, that Dazai always knows, how get the upper hand.
Contra: Please, no. Just no. This is way too simple.
Crazy Theory 5: The ADA will escape, reunite with other members and then go underground, because they cannot proof the truth right now. [How about joining forces with Steinbeck?]
Pro: Not a Deus ex Machina move. It offers an interesting development. Also Kunikida is definitely leaning to the darker side.
Contra: Asagiri doesn’t like to change status quo in BSD world. There is a high possibility, that the ADA will return to normal operations despite everything.
Crazy Theory 6: Something happens, so either everyone forgets about the ADA or/and the ADA save the say and become heroes.
Pro: We don’t know, what exactly Fyodor and the Decay of Angels are trying to achieve right now. Was it just destroying the ADA or something bigger? Also could Agatha finally make a move?
Contra: That will make an already messy arc even a bigger mess. Honestly I would prefer a proper arc finale before the further development.
Crazy Theory 7: The fifth member of the Hunting Dogs (see recent chapter 60) finds out the truth, as he/she was researching the Rats of the real Decay of Angels.
Pro: Not quite Deus ex Machina move, since we have a foreshadowing here.
Contra: This could be any other organization: Port Mafia, Clock Tower etc.
Side Note: Why we don’t see Port Mafia around?
Better ask, why would they be involved? Mori isn’t an altruist, he won’t move a finger for the ADA, unless there is also a great danger for Yokohama. There isn’t one, yet. Port Mafia is also unaffected. So they doesn’t have any reason to help ADA.
I also have a feeling that Chuuya had escaped Poe’s book long time ago. It happened behind the scenes, as Asagiri thought, that it is evident enough and not so important. We’ll see...
Scans used: Dazai Scans.

BUNGO STRAY DOGS TIME LAPSE(s) & LIGHT NOVELS’ SUMMARIES+REVIEW
1. Time Lapse(s)
I’m guessing everyone has watched the anime and even stay updated to where the manga is now but not the novels, probably just the dark era and entrance exam and the untold stories. but many are confused about the relationships and things that are happening in the whole series. Asagiri-sensei is an amazing writer, he/she(i honestly don’t know if she’s a guy or a girl so yeah) linked all the stories and relationships of characters very well. in the after note of The Untold Story of The Armed Detective Agency, she/he said without reading the other novels and the manga, you can also read the novels cause they’re not linked. i don’t think so cause i’ve actually finished everything till where bsd is updated now. even the novels(i got my novels in chinese, so don’t ask me where i read the english translated ones).after finishing everything, i decided to make a quick summary of the novels.
*this includes nothing from the anime, cause the anime is pretty much a mix of everything(the manga and the novels). it’s the inaccurate (like mixed) storyline, but if you are just watching it for fun and is not interested in the manga and the novels, the anime made a great storyline. BONES did a great job of it to fill everything up.
So actually the storyline of bsd goes in this way...
* ------> (arrow)
The Untold Story of The Armed Detective Agency-----> Dazai Osamu and The Dark Era-----> Dazai Osamu’s Entrance Exam-----> First Chapter of the manga----> The Night Before Atsushi’s Entrance Exam-----> Continue the story in the manga........ till somewhere before the guild’s era-----> 55 Minutes----->continue the story till The Book arc aka Fyodor’s arc.
*Bungo Stray Dogs Gaiden is happening somewhere in between ‘Continue the story in the manga till somewhere before the guild’s arc’ it’s definitely after dark era and stuff.
*the novels are produced in a non linear way. you’ll figure everything out if you read everything. but i’ve listed everything in a chronological order so you won’t be confused.
now let’s get to the summaries~
The Untold Story of The Armed Detective Agency
so this is the cover.
this story is seen through Fukuzawa’s point of view. this story shows how Fukuzawa met Ranpo when he was younger, how their relationship is built up and how they started their detective jobs. but the true story of how the agnecy is built is not really told till the last few pages. so who helped them with creating the agency is unknown. but seeing how Fukuzawa and Ranpo building their relationship is fun and interesting to read. ranpo was about 14 or 15 by then.
*Turns out Ranpo is an orphan. he used to live in the countryside with his parents. his parents are both really really smart. however, people only praised his dad as he was a famous writer or something?(i forgot...) but at home, they always played some deductive games and his mom would always win. one day, both of them died and Ranpo came to the city alone without understanding the world of adults. he had many jobs but always end up getting fired.
*Odasaku also played quite an important role in the story. he had a few talks with Fukuzawa but not Ranpo. he was still a teenager by then, he also seems older than Ranpo (according to Fukuzawa). from this, we can know that he’s a lot older than Dazai, definitely not same age as someone thought it is.
*Fukuzawa was a bodyguard. he receive jobs from the government. he is known as the ‘Silver Wolf(银狼)’.
Dazai Osamu and The Dark Era
i’m not going to talk much about this as i bet everyone knows the story of this. it’s being seen through Odasaku’s point of view. this is my personal favourite lol. i’ll just list down everything that didn’t make into the anime adaption.
*Dazai’s injuries came in many different dumb ways according to what he said.
*Odasaku disagrees with his injuries come from dumb ways. he knows that the injuries come from the his past of climbing up to the high ranks in the Port Mafia. According to Odasaku, under Dazai’s bandages, those are all scars, injuries, bruises and stuff. mystery solved i guess? lol
*Odasaku’s morning routine.
*Dazai’s love for cooking and borism for everything except for cooking, more like creating new recipes and forcing Ango and Odasaku to try.
*Dazai’s spartan training for Akutagawa
*Odasaku playinga nd chasing around with the kids and orphans.
*Last few moments of Odasaku’s death, Odasaku asked for a cigarette and told Dazai that he really wanted to have a taste of his fav curry before he dies.
*Dazai was the only person who attended Odasaku’s funeral. he stood in front of the grave in complete black and placed the photo of 3 of them in front of the grave. he said, ‘i really wanted you to try the hard tofu i made.’ HOW IS THIS NOT HEARTBREAKING?!!!!!
*Mori decided to leave Dazai’s executive spot empty and make another member an executive. he didn’t say who it was but i think it’s Chuuya.
Chuuya definitely didn’t become an executive along with Dazai. if yes, all of them wouldn’t say Dazai is the youngest executive. i know Chuuya is a few months older than Dazai but according to age, they’re the same age so yeah.
Dazai Osamu’s Entrance Exam
this takes place 2 years later after dark era. this is the story of the Azzure King. haha, damn BONES studio misleading everyone Atsushi is in this arc lol. Good job BONES. this is seen through Kunikida’s point of view. so many people have read this too so let’s see what didn’t make into the anime adaption(again).
*ATSUSHI IS NOT INVOLVED IN THIS AT ALL!!!
*Dazai and Kunikida wasn’t called the Detective Duo (forget soukoku, this is the new thing, lol) because of this case. it’s after a few cases they solved.
*Akutagawa is kinda lost because he didn’t know why his senpai aka Dazai left and where he went until the Chapter: Yokohama Ganster Paradise. some characters in this story is involved in helping him to look for Dazai. in an extra volume, he would go to the sake house(?) to wait for Dazai everyday in the 4 years. Akutagawa remembered Dazai is a pretty good drinker so he would challenge at ended up leaving the place drunk. Dazai knew he’s always there and would go after Akutagawa leaving the place drunk.
*Sasaki plays an important role towards Kunikida. remember a chapter(Chapter 28: Emergency Plan) where Kunikida is under Q’s spell and saw a girl who goes like, ‘Kunikida-sama...’ that’s Sasaki. Kunikida can’t really get over Sasaki’s death with the ideals of the Azzure King.
*Dazai knew who was behind this all along and (kinda) made a fool of Sasaki.
The Night Before Atsushi’s Entrance Exam
so this story is in this book and is before the story, The Untold Story of The Armed Detective Agency. it’s a story that describes how Kunikida is sick and tired of Dazai’s lazy attitude and always thinks he’s so smart and stuff so he wants to give him a lesson. He even partnered up with Tanizaki and Naomi to work his plan. Guess what, he ended up getting played by Dazai.
*It started with Tanizaki and Kunikida in the cafe in the same building as the ADA. Tanizaki asked what’s the story of the making of the ADA. Kunikida said he doesn’t really know but he has heard that it’s a long and mysterious story. Kunikida then asked Tanizaki why he wanted to know so he said Dazai asked him to ask Kunikida. (I’m curious why Dazai wants to know. is his brain not full enough or something? he wants to know every single detail to plan his long run tragedies again lol)
*Dazai suddenly comes in and flirts with a waitress of the cafe. what we see in the anime, the waitress is a young lady but in the real story, she’s a middle aged woman. damn BONES, again with the misleading.
*Dazai has a paper bag with a fake bomb. haha, you see that?! that’s the bomb we see in Chapter 2: A Certain Bomb. the bomb is left in the sake house Dazai often goes. it’s from a girl that often asks him to be his girlfriend (like wtf? why is Dazai so popular...) Dazai ended up asking Tanizaki(i don’t really understand why he asks Tanizaki for help) for help. the girl was then found and Dazai warned her off.
tbh, i don’t think the bomb is really from the girl. i think it’s made by Dazai. i’m guessing Dazai knows how to make bombs lol.
*so all of them are discussing how the entrance exam should be and of course none of them are taking it seriously except for Kunikida and Dazai(he would take it seriously cause he already knew Kunikida’s plan)
*then Dazai suggested they would use the bomb to make the entrance exam.
*so somewhat Kunikida had a plan of using newspaper strips to decide who should carry out the entrance exam. the people with the smaller numbers will have to work and the other way around.
*Dazai got 3 and 4(cause pages). Kunikida goes like, yes, he must have gotten the smallest numbers as he has got 7 and 8(?).
*ended up Tanizaki got 1 and 2. he was really shocked.
*Dazai knew Kunikida wanted to give himself a lesson so he has already asked everything about the plan from Naomi.
*so the plan goes according to what we see in chapter 2.
*then, the 3 of them went to a sushi shop. Dazai suddenly received a plate with nothing on it and ended up that’s a real bomb from the same girl that gave him a fake bomb earlier. he then goes like, help? haha
55 Minutes
this story happens in within the manga before the guild arc, according to what Asagiri-sensei said in the after note. it’s pretty much a spinoff novel with the same characters of the main storyline and some other new characters that i don’t think they’ll ever appear again in other stories, probably just being mentioned. i have not much to say about this. what i mean is, it’s an amazing and mysterious story but it’s hard to describe it just through words, you’ll have to feel it by reading it. so yeah.........
*actually, from this story we know that Dazai is possible to be cured by Yosano but under rare circumstances.
*the whole ADA is very aware that without Dazai, it’s hard to fight sometimes so they’ve planned a thing. if Dazai really succeeded his suicide or has gotten seriously injured, they’ll have Dazai to be cured by Yosano with a way that should only be used for emergencies cause Dazai knew about this and dislikes it a lot. he neglects this a lot. but he ended up getting cured by Yosano without knowing it till now lol. as in the newest chapter, Chapter 50: Cannibalism, Part 5, Dazai has woken up and said he wishes to be cured by Yosano but too bad she couldn’t. so this clearly shows he doesn’t know. this is odd as he’s always clear of everything....
*btw, Dazai’s trash-can!Dazai in this entire story.
Bungo Stray Dogs Gaiden
so this book is the book that not many know about. this is my 2nd favourite. i love Ayatsuji(the guy with sunglasses and in blonde on the left) so much! this book is way too underrated among english readers... too bad. i also won’t be writing a summary on this as it’s the thickest book among all and it’s hard to describe the story. it pretty much just involves youkais, demons, devils of Japanese and Chinese culture. after reading this book, i understand why no one wants to translate this book cause it’s hard to say what type of demons are those. readers might get confused. i have thought of translating this but ended up not.
this story also involves some kind of romance in it. you can get some romance hints from Ayatsuji and Misaki(the girl with cyan hair)’s relationship. i’m too lazy and tired to write their moments but you guys can learn more about them from the Bungo Stray Dogs wikia.
*Misaki’s mom was the person who taught Kyouka’s mom to transfer her ability to their family members.
*Misaki’s mom has the exact same name as her daughter.
*This story does not take place in Yokohama. it’s not mentioned where it is.
*It’s mostly about the Special Division Department.
*Ango is Misaki’s senpai.
*Ango(mostly) and Chuuya(just a few scenes but plays an important role) is involved.
*Dazai is mentioned, Kaji is mentioned.
so after 2 hrs of writing. i’ve finally finished!!! i’m so glad that i got to be so obsessed with bsd. it’s definitely my fav series. i can’t wait for Asagiri to write more novels and produce more about bsd. that is all. thank you for your time!!

Write a meta about Kunikida :)
Dang there’s so much to write about. So I’ll just talk about what I had come to notice one day—
So heres my theory on Kunikida’s notebook and his incessant need to fulfill a schedule he laid out for himself.
A lot of people question this aspect a lot and maybe some people have already arrived to the conclusion that I have, but I have yet to see anything of the sort take off because Kunikida is an under appreciated character!! I think most people wrote it off as something he does for his ideals, and, often times, ideals are rather illogical and questionable.
Eons ago, I found a real nifty site here that had some very interesting things about the actual Kunikida Doppo.
There was a long essay I was reading through on that site, but of course, I need to start a trial the read the rest so I only read up to right before the good part! I was so mad, I wanted to hear what he had to say about the actual Kunikida’s failed first marriage… And the rest of his short life, I mean. Dude, I was in it to see how bad he got dragged by his first wife, ok?
ANYWAYS—
You can claim that his notebook serves as a visual reminder of his ability, “Doppo Ginkaku.” The book itself was essentially a compilation of Kunikida-sensei’s works after all.
In fact, BSD!Kunikida’s ability to conjure up anything smaller than his notebook is a nod to Kunikida-sensei’s movement in Naturalism. In some very small phrases I have seen translated of his works, his descriptions of nature is insanely detailed and paints a very clear image in mind. It can be said that the descriptions are so detailed that you can actually visit a place you have never been to before and that’s impressive in a literary sense.
However, what really got me thinking was the fact that Kunikida’s notebook served more than just an accessory for his ability.
He wrote anything and everything in it from to-do lists to his ideals on to that notebook so I wondered about why he does that. I already knew that it was to reference something of the actual Kunikida’s works, but I had trouble trying to figure out why.
I’m not entirely sure about the purpose of his ideals, but Kunikida-sensei did feel that his movement is misunderstood and no one understands his ideology ( and thus he became good friends with Katai, who felt the same way nopeidontplaybungoutoalchemist ).
I’m somewhat certain his ideals to not want others to die in front of him came from the time the actual Kunikida went on to be a war reporter. It certainly made him rather depressed and numb to the world around him.
But his schedules— Why was he so adamant on pursuing it all the way down to a T?
The actual Kunikida didn’t seem like someone who was THAT organized from what I can gather so why?
It was because of the Late Kunikida’s book, Azamaukazaru no ki ( can be translated as: “Records of an Honest Man” / yes the thing I was referencing ). That book was essentially his diary from some point of his life onwards till the day he dies. If I can math properly, he was probably around 18, more or less, when he got a diary to write on, where I base my theory that BSD!Kunikida didn’t notice his abilities until maybe around high school and why it is specifically confined to THAT notebook and can’t use his abilities on any other paper medium.
What really set this off was when I went on to read whatever has been translated of light novel one, which was essentially EP6-7 of the anime but modified to actually reflect the recent plot, on Dazai’s Entrance Exam.
Since Kunikida was around 20 at the time he ever met Dazai, the year of when he will meet his ideal partner was changed to 6 as compared to 4 in the anime. It then hit me that it was around the same time Kunikida-sensei married his second wife.
I thought about that some more, he actually talked more of his plans in the light novel than in the anime, such as what he did during the day, who he met, and what he did when he met those people.
What was the point of that?
Then it came to me that I read about Azamaukazaru no ki being the actual Kunikida’s diary.
Then the fact he wants to pursue his schedules down to the fine point is because IT HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN DOWN. Those are things that has already happened.
Other things pertaining his anger towards things not going his way may also be a nod to the financial troubles the actual Kunikida faced ( which impeded him from pursing his dream of being a writer ) and the opposition to his ideology ( specifically met with when he became a teacher with a rather unorthodox teaching method / the strict and stern teacher ).
However, now that it’s established that his ideals are to mimic Azamaukazaru no ki then perhaps Kunikida might’ve planned his life all the way up till he was around 30, but due to the fact the writer died rather young, the rest of it past that age might be unwritten.
Will that mean BSD!Kunikida will die then or will it mean that he will eventually fill up those empty pages?
Just thinking that his life was already laid out before him was something I would think about on occasion. It also made sense why he has a insane list of requirements for an ideal partner, because it’s already written. It’s there. Also explains why he fell head over heels for Nobuko, despite the whole ideal partner thing ( even Nobuko said, “WTF DUDE THIS IS CRAZY” )
My only concern is that if Kunikida is to run the ADA in the future, what if something went wrong?
The actual Kunikida tried to run a publishing firm but didn’t work out so it CLOSED, so will that happen to the ADA?
So many questions and none of us will know cause Asagiri Kafka is an allusive guy when it comes to writing. But we do know that he isn’t afraid to kill off characters when needed, so we can only ask—
What will happen to Kunikida now?
Thank you for making it this far and I hope this enlightened you all in some way.
After taking that into account, Kunikida’s actions aren’t actually something unreasonable or made up as much as we are lead to believe. There’s still a lot of questions to consider but I noticed one of the biggest mysteries to Kunikida’s schedules was because of Azamaukazaru no ki. So it probably isn’t much but I figured something out on my own which was the point of the post!
If you have any other questions involving my thoughts about Kunikida, feel free to drop an ask! I don’t want to make this too long cause it’ll be REALLY long if I talked about everything else such as Kunikida’s struggle between reality and ideality.
Granted those aspects won’t be as directly informative as this one because it’ll probably be me trying to work my thoughts out and thus will sound repetitive.
This is just how I think about it so you are welcome to have your own opinions and thoughts! There’s certainly things I don’t know either and thus if you ask me to clarify, I might not know how to organize my own thoughts lmao
