i still haven’t written out my 261 metapost but i can’t stop thinking about the stsg subtext in that chapter . the parallels between geto slaughtering the village and gojo slaughtering the higher ups…. the fact that gojo does it right after declaring that he has to “catch up” to geto
#IT’S SOOOOOOO#i will die defending gege akutami’s character writing i’m sorry#i think the shinjuku arc is sloppy when it comes to pacing and some technical fight stuff#but character writing wise it’s SO fucking good it’s so incredible it drives me insane#character writing AND relationship writing#which imo are gege’s strongest points aside from fight choreography#like it just . drives me insane#it’s such an interesting line!!!#he needs to Catch Up to geto. he needs to make a choice for himself not knowing if it’s right or wrong just like he did#he needs to carry through with an extreme action to get the change he wants .#instead of the slow “root cause” method that he himself implemented#(which for the record would have been smarter in geto’s case but for gojo’s goal extreme violence Works )#i also think that on some level it’s like … kinda proving geto’s point?#“you could do it satoru.” he has the power to change the world almost however he wants and he finally used it#at the expense of his own morality and sense of reason. which does turn him into a “monster” narratively i think#i mean . obviously i don’t think gojo killing the higher ups makes him a bad person 😭 it’s a very big deal for gojo’s character though!!#he’s always been capable of cold pragmatism. and he’s always been willing to get his hands bloodied .#but NOT with humans/sorcerers and that’s the really big distinction . he’s not psychotic. he never has been.#i think gojo was probably scared when he decided to go through with it. because it really is him trading a piece of his humanity away#:((((((((((((#aughhhhhhhh gege akutami i love you but when i fucking catch youuuuuuuuuu#anyway i should rlly save all this for the metapost but 😭 i needed to get it out….#ari noises ✩#meta ✩#jjk manga spoilers#jjk spoilers#jjk 261

so kusakabe and higuruma Megumi and fucking MEI MEI can survive but Mechamaru Nanako Mimiko and Mai had 2 die. Alright.
#JJK spoilers#Everytime I'm like ''i don't actually care that much I shouldn't be so negative'' I remember that Gege treats disabled characters like shit#And also fucking fumbled some of the characters with the MOST POTENTIAL (THE FUCKING NANAKO MIMIKO AND MAKI MAI PARALLELS)#Anyway I'm killing us allllllllll ❤️#Also I feel like the idea of ''strength'' is never really actually. Fully criticized like maybe I'll have clearer thoughts later but it's#Very much ''dont look down on the weak bc they might be strong'' instead of ''dont look down on the weak bc. They're human beings.''#And that just annoys me personally. Like Suguru is Wrong but the narrative doesn't actually Prove Him Wrong y'know. In the story#He's mostly wrong bc he's the antagonist not bc he's created a whole fucked up worldview as a deeply traumatized teen and then#Created a structure that was abusive not only to the ppl he didnt value but also the ppl he did and NEITHER GROUP IS GIVEN SUFFICIENT FOCUS#AAAAAAAAAGHHHH. <- guy who's interested in cults and cult abuse and wants to see fiction that actually reflects#How cult survivors are affected by said abuse and also recover. Can you tell I'm not over Nanako and Mimiko's deaths because they were#REALLY FUCKING INTERESTING CHARACTERS. CAN YOU. CAN YOU. CAN Y#Somehow everything I write Abt JJK ends up being about how I wish I could enter the story and crucify Geto. I hate that motherfucker#(he's was my first favorite character in the series and even tho he's been rightfully usurped he's genuine fascinating both in general and#Also specifically bc his character touches on some of my preexisting interests and also I feel like no one else understands him.#And when I say that I mean no one else wants to beat him to death with bricks and rocks and blunt weapons for the right reasons like I do)

hii omg I love ur fics sooo much they're really helping me recover from.. gege. I was wondering if I could request gojo x drunk!reader. like maybe they come back from partying with geto and shoko and are just completely tipsy. but they're reallyyyyy affectionate and flirty and gojo literally goes insane like his heart can't take it . bonus points if reader won't stop peppering him in kisses.
"you're sooooo hot.. and- and strong! ohmigosh are you single?" AND MANS IS JUST BRIGHT RED.
preferably fem-reader thanks ^__^ <333
drunk in love — gojo satoru
contents. fluff, established relationship, alcohol (drunk!reader), gojo being gojo, youre drunk and in love but gojo loves you more
notes. anon your request was so cute i just had to write it TT i kind of got carried away from the original prompt.. but enjoy this as a form of therapy from that one eyed cat!! ps i hate drinking so idek if this is accurate :>
the night had been long, and shoko is starting to regret letting you consume what felt like half your body weight in drinks during your night out in roppongi. impatiently, she checked her phone, hoping for a response from gojo to her text message. huffing in frustration, she turned to geto, “i thought you called him. where is that idio–”
"shoko, who is that?" in your drunken stupor, you shamelessly ogled the stranger approaching the entrance of the bar. shoko facepalmed as she watched your intoxicated heart eyes for the snow-haired man.
"she's all yours now."
gojo chuckled when he saw your inebriated state, "what did they do to you?" he had just returned from a tiring mission, but seeing you was enough to lighten the weight on his shoulders.
you shifted your gaze between shoko and the handsome stranger, causing mental whiplash. a mumbled apology escaped your lips before you left shoko's side to get a closer look at the man.
amusement danced in satoru's eyes as he observed you stumbling toward him. as the loving boyfriend he was, satoru wrapped a strong arm around your waist to prevent you from tripping.
you placed a hand on his chest to steady yourself, and couldn't help but notice the firmness of his physique. "so strong," you hiccuped, running your finger down his chest, "and handsome... are you single?" you blinked up at him with wide, inquisitive eyes.
suguru, watching from the sidelines, struggled to stifle his laughter as he observed his best friend's face growing increasingly red. the way you were looking up at him was driving him crazy. satoru cleared his throat and shook his head, trying to regain his composure though it was hard with the way his heart was beating so erratically.
"do you not remember me, sweetheart? your strong and handsome boyfriend?" satoru's glossy lips turned down in an exaggerated pout, and you gasped, confused on how you'd forgotten a face so beautiful. it was dangerous, how tempting the man in front of you looked.
giving in to your impulsive thoughts, you grabbed his face with one hand, squishing his cheeks together. satoru’s eyes widened as he noticed your intent on his puckered lips.
with an impish grin, you planted a series of quick kisses on his cheeks, then moved to his lips.“how,” kiss. “could i,” another kiss, “forget,” kiss, “such,” kiss, “a handsome face?”.
suguru and shoko watched in mild horror, as you showered gojo with affection. a dopey grin spread across his flushed face as he allowed you to have your way with him. he's afraid he might implode from the how adorable you were.
“i’m the most handsome man in the world, yeah?” he asks you with a grin, encouraging you to answer as he pulls you closer by the waist. satoru couldn't fathom what he had done to deserve this, but he would gladly repeat it tenfold if he could relive this moment once more.
you nod happily. “the most!”
“well aren’t you lucky to have me as your boyfriend.” satoru flashes his cerulean eyes at you above those dark sunglasses of his. just when you think he can’t get any hotter, he proves you wrong.
your friends' silent presence is suddenly shattered by laughter, jolting you back into the awareness of their company. satoru’s grin dissipates into a frown when he sees that your attention is taken off of him.
"'[name] is lucky to date him,' so he says," shoko giggles. "suguru, do you remember that one time satoru pretended to be a waiter at the restaurant [name] was on a date?" shoko not-so-secretly says to geto. "he got all drunk and then started rhapsodizing about how he was going to marry her."
satoru gasps at the memory of his awkward pining days. his attention quickly diverted back to you, anticipating your reaction.
suguru hums, “ah, or that one time he got distracted and nearly got us killed on a mission all because [name] sent a selfie.”
you pull away from satoru’s hold and he swears he feels all the warmth leaving his soul. his hands instinctively reach out to you, but you’re one step ahead, already making your way to the evil pair in front of him.
“really?” you ask the two, eyes shining eagerly.
shoko nods, an evil grin growing on her face, “you seriously never noticed that stupid dazed look he has when he sees you? even yaga has noticed it.”
gojo’s jaw drops at the sound of his best friends’ attempt to embarrass him. in his defense, he was just a man in love! satoru's infamous pout returns, and he’s trying to pull you back into his embrace and away from those traitors. to his dismay, you ignore him. did you even know that he was dying by the second without your affection?
“tell me more!” you gush, entranced with the idea that your boyfriend was just a lovesick puppy.
“is that really necessary?” satoru mumbles under his breath, though the telltale reddening of his ears betrays his indifferent facade.
“toru i didn’t know that you were obsessed with me,” a giggle erupts from you. to show your adoration, you turn back to cup your boyfriend’s face. he leans into your touch immediately.
“i still am y’know,” his gaze softened. your heart melts at the way he lowers his voice.
“i can’t watch this any longer,” the short haired female gags, searching her coat pocket for a much needed cigarette. suguru agrees silently, tearing his eyes away from the cloying display of affection.
you don’t notice your friends leaving while you’re too engrossed doting on satoru.
“baby– heh– we should head home now,” he groans softly, shivering upon your fingers tracing his undercut. if you continue this any longer, satoru's brain will be fried to the point that no reversed curse energy could fix. the effect you had on him was undeniably unjust.
“can you run me a bath when we’re home? you pleaded, your voice tinged with weariness. after a night of drinking in roppongi, you felt the weight of the celebrations clinging to your skin.
satoru's lips curled into a playful smirk as he recognized the opportunity presented before him. "only if you'll let me hop in~"
a mischievous agreement danced in your eyes as you responded, "hm okay." you leaned in to place a tender kiss on the corner of his lips. satoru, his affection intensifying by the moment, gently gripped the back of your head and guided your lips back to his. gosh, he was so in love.
i was going to post all mine but im currently rewriting it so bear with me please !!!!

reasons for some of the jjk men on why i would and wouldn't fuck them. i think now would be a good time to mention that uh i'm not going to be saying no to anyone. gege akutami knew what would sell.
starting off strong with GOJO SATORU daddy's home home for me i know i've been waiting no lube no protection all night all day any position any location any time no matter what he asks even if it hurts me i'll just endlessly over and over again go towards you.
now WHY would i climb the beanstalk? let's go through the reasons. - he's hot i remember the teacher giving him her number - he's tall bro was planned to be made into a coathanger bc of those japanese genetics defying legs. and you know if he's tall then proportionately..... - he's fast in 299 seconds gojo satoru had slaughtered a train's worth of transfigured humans - his voice "you cryin?" "this is where you're weak right?" it doesn't matter i watched jjk in sub, i went onto youtube and listened to the uploaded audios of the dub
but why i'm not fucking that man until failure 😔 ?! - i'm not geto suguru. i may be delusional but i'm not blind. even kenjaku wasn't able to sway him, and he WAS suguru. - he's too whimsical for my liking. bro would answer a call while midstroke, teleport out, then return like 30 minutes later with souvenirs and go "yeah let's continue!!"
🎀 nanami kento 🎀 to me it's not just sex. i wish to marry someone like him. i'm ridiculously close to manifesting 'a husband like nanami kento'. as someone who let's just say is situated in the finance sector, no one wants that man more than me. it's embarrassing how nanami is like a living cheat code to everything i've ever wanted.
oh for to be a lawyer representing his office firm, occasionally coming in every few months and parading in mini skirts and high heels. acting as if we're only acquaintances during the meeting. and after the deposition we end up in the backseat of his car during his lunch break. seriously hoping no one from the office comes down and decides to check why his car is 'moving' like that. 🎀 why i'm going to give him 'marry me head' 🎀 (this is going to be a long list)
- he's a tall guy in finance. - he's blonde but in a hot way - his technique is finding someone's weak spots. - he's absolutely built - he takes things seriously. bro would take you throughly. - i have a thing for successful men - he pulls hair - he kills curses effortlessly - he's very good at being relaxed while in a fight - island holiday sex - that office attire with the suit does things - when he takes off the tie and wraps it around his hand, he should be wrapping it around my wrists. - he likes bread? i can give him cake - oh his job must be so stressful isn't it such a good thing i'm really good at massages - stability in this economy is like the hottest thing istfg - i've never seen a not HAWT nanami cosplayer (no one try and prove me wrong) - when he's mad it's crazy hot
why i'm sadly not riding that man until he places a ring on my finger in the malaysian sunset? - he wouldn't want a relationship. not because he doesn't desire one, but due to the demanding nature jujutsu sorcery, not only would that drain him out too much to care, but also because he wouldn't want to put his partner through the mental challenges of not knowing whether he'd return alive or death. and the mental challenges it would give his partner if he died. - i'm not 27. he gives me the horrific (for me) vibes that he'd only consider a relationship with someone who he's the same age as. - my japanese skills are really bad that makes communication in a relationship a problem.
🙈 geto suguru 🙈 hes beautiful, getting slightly too close to my type for comfort, but whether i could ignore my grievances with his lifestyle choices is yet to be debated. i have a lot of grievances with that why i would beg him to consider a one night stand w this monkey?!: - tall hot built how many times am i going to have to say tall hot built throughout this post. we KNOW the jjk men are fine. for sex the standard really is just if they're hot. - his hair his soft long black flowing princess hair everyday i thank twice and loona stans for existing. your lesbianism has stolen the scissors away from the hands of men. thank you for your service..
- he's so soft when treating people he likes i like people being nice to me
- i hate the clothes he wears as a cult leader are you pregnant with all those curses you're swallowing? like the way kenjaku definitely didn't swallow. because that outfit looks like villain maternity wear. the only upside is that it makes me even more motivated to get that man OUT of his clothes.
- something about his gentleman type personality with his either cult leader flair or his extreme dedication has me going crazy delusional as with nanami i am weak to men that have corporate expertise. it should scare me the way i cave. like okay i'll bleach my hair white and get blue contacts if that's what it takes to have you. please charm me and make me delusional
- he's hot while killing people aside from financially successful gentlemen, unfortunately i have the horrific ailment of snapping the minute i see a crazy guy with blood on his face that kills people with ease. and that one scene where he DECIMATED that guy and wiped the blood of his cheek ruined me
why i'm staying far FAR FAR FAR away - i may relate to gojo satoru but i'm not him bro isn't touching me. i'm not his blue eyed the strongest bc i'm gojo because i'm the strongest coat hanger overconfident sweet lover hates moral arguments high school bittersweet situationship.
- i actually HATE his moral argument due to the balance of equilibrium and market forces whatever, if jujutsu sorcerers were meant to be the prevailing thingy then they would be so. i could go into more detail but let's just say i couldn't be gojo because how could i be so selfless to let the situationship of my life go to chase a dream he'll never achieve for an argument that's wrong because he feels it to be more important than me. - he's got the megumi potential man effect "worst curse user" R U SRS? be fr. i know he handed tokyo student's asses back to them but i think he's just a heartbroken guy who's a little bad and has a goal or whatever. bro is NOT the worst curse user. - can't figure out if i would mind lobotomied geto or not. but he would definitely be freakier after those backshots he took. - his mouth probably tastes like a rag used to clean shit and vomit - to my knowledge i am not a jujutsu sorcerer
choso !! choso !! choso !! why i would?! OFC I WOULD
- this again at some point saying tall hot and built starts to get too repetitive. but when he pulled his clothing to the side during that fight with yuuji, i was staring for TOO LONG. - i think his blackhead pore strip is cute. - his personality is ridiculously cute. obviously this may sound odd but i think we can gather i'm rather odd. in MY opinion, it's cute. like idk his sincerity in his choices is very cute. - i know i could make him blush so easily.
why i wouldn't.... (unfortunately) - i'm not his brother if there's one thing i know about that man is that he is dedicated to his brothers. he will not hear anything i have to say and simply ignore me for i am not his brother i am a random person. - i don't want to carry on kenjaku's bloodline - family reunions w that man would be ridiculous - the cursed womb paintings 1-3 is a concept i don't wish to partake in
fushiguro toji he's a real one. didn't like his family so he finds himself a cute wife. he's absolutely goated w those skills. his choices with child raising leave me seriously concerned with what might happen after our sexual activities. i mean the minute he realises who megumi was after he resurrected he just went and killed himself. CRAZY. but yeah i'd fuck him - he's built - he's built - he had to make megumi somehow - bros got grey sweatpants and a compression shirt - he has that heavenly pact for physical prowess he should USE IT - lowkey like how the scar looks - he wants to hit core this is one way to do it - he's built - i can tell he would be good in bed call it a 7th sense
why i wouldn't: - he'd steal everything i own while i'm asleep - id have to pay him to fuck me - i am not his original wife, he's not going to want me. - i don't want those crazy zenin clan freaks knowing who i am - do i want him to traumatise my kid when hes revived again? - i don't like gambling addictions
sukuna ryomen.....
would...... - 4 arms - 2 dicks - doesn't he have a tongue on his stomach? - built - king of curses he can be the king of this pussy - i wanna ride him so bad while he sits on that throne of his - ngl whatever that white kimono he wears is hot - his voice - he's lowkey funny - he's hot i'm not even going to bother denying
why i wouldn't: - i'm not megumi - bro would kill me before i ask him if i can suck him off - why would he agree? - if i survived i feel i would be severely looked down upon for this choice of mine
mahito.... (hella ashamed for this not even lying) would: - he's built - he can change his body to anything wouldn't: - he'd kill me and he's not like nanami where death would be worth it for him
@saradika TSYM !! i googled and found the free spacers
next "why i wouldn't and wouldn't" will be the neos the nct boys (however long that takes with HOW MANY? members?)

im gomma vom..... i just watched a satosugu edit on youtube and i..... i have so many feelings about these two. with sns i can imagine a happy ending you know. BUT WITH SATOSUGU THERE IS NO ESCAPE. I feel like geto's actions are unredeemable. even if he hadn't died how could we redeem anything he's done. like he killed his own parents. there is no turning back. i understand him, what motivated his decision, his logic and his journey, but i really struggle with seeing how geto, hidden-inventory-arc-geto, becomes that radicalised (bear in mind i'm a sasuke defender but i think the JJK and Naruto worlds are different in ways that make Sasuke's and Geto's radicalism significantly different). at the same time, because i empathise with him, i respect his decision, and i don't think that it should be taken lightly, or taken away from him (this is something i think gojo feels too, hence never trying to dissuade geto or win him back to his side after that burger king (lol) meeting). so even if Geto was alive, stsg would still be unachievable AND IT FUCKING KILLS ME. sometimes i wanna write fanfic about them being happy and together but then im like... i can't do that without fully denying one of them their wholeness, you know? the decision both geto and gojo make regarding who they are in relation to jujutsu society can't be severed from who they turn out to be as people. please prove me wrong in the tags or reblogs or in the comments or ANYWHERE i need some fucking respite from this hellhole that gege has drawn me into.
#the only way i think a happy scenario between them could have realistically worked out was if gojo had been able to notice#when geto was slowly descending into madness and depression and done something about it#but then again im not sure that could have dissuaded geto#and im also not sure gojo could ever have noticed without changing who he is as a character at that point#he was too young and self absorbed at that point#THEY WERE SO GOOD FOR EACH OTHER IN FUNDAMENTAL WAYS BUT ALSO NOT AND IT KILLS ME#geto suguru#gojo satoru#stsg brainrot#jjk stsg#satosugu

I didn't like how the new chapter was not dedicated entirely to sukuna and yuji and instead rushed and forced shounen trio and some random plot about Yuta being in danger (sorry I can't stand Yuta, to me Yuki IS the mc and I'm tired of Yuji being denied)
I want to think Yuji ate sukuna offscreen (remember his grandpa said to help people even if they don't say thanks), thats why the abrupt ending and not showing sukuna 100% evaporate
I hope the last chapter ends with Yuji AND sukuna. Make them reincarnate together or something. The others subplots I don't care about (unless it's yuji family)
It's alright anon don't be sorry. I think it was inevitable since gege has to wrap up things and solve important plot points before it ends. I knew this would happen when jjk ending was announced. I didn't expect the whole chap because we already saw a lot of them in 265 but i do feel a proper conclusion was missing..but only from sukuna's side.. That person is hiding too much in his heart, it was a shame we never got to see how he really felt about all these things.. I feel that was the moment where I wanted to hear what sukuna had to say. Doesn't matter what he does after that... Not reading between lines or speculations from readers..
Tbh, I have disconnected myself from it completely since I don't really have any hope and it's not because there aren't any clues, it's because of gege.. I feel like he already provided us what he really intended to. But I will still share with you what I think could have happened....since not caring anymore does not mean my brain has stopped working...
I think I will start with the finger thing.. Most obvious cope..that finger is sukuna's part of soul which means his consciousness does reside in it so yuji can actually eat it although Gumi said it wouldn't have enough pull to connect his soul but i think suku's soul link with yuji can compensate for that. Helping suku to reincarnate.
We were told many times how yuji is linked to sukuna and shoko said yuji has become like his finger so u can add that too.. So if resonance actually works because of their soul link so i would believe sukuna soul is still there since it's connected to yuji.
Since his last finger is still here, his soul is incomplete and wouldn't be able to reincarnate like a regular soul. so that means he is still in the limbo/ cursed realm (remember once uro said it's like coming back from hell) maybe pondering over what yuji said to him..just like how he was before yuji ate finger for first time
Like you said there's a good chance that yuji has eaten him since yuji really wanted him to live a normal life.. He was really sad that suku rejected his offer. so wouldn't be surprised of he did that.
The conclusion itself gives hope. Since it was abrupt. That there is more to their story... Although it didn't to me...
About other subplots, I think yuji already knows about kenny ig. That's why he referred both him and sukuna as being born with a curse. Maybe with the help of gojo considering he's telling every first year about their parents.. . I don't have any expectations left anymore . Will just accept whatever gege gives to us... I can't really care about anything atp. Like he can bring back gojo and I would be fine with it...
Although I would love that gege proves me wrong ..

gege it’s on sight (i am in mourning)
spoilers and small rant / maybe analysis if you squint real hard below
but on genuinely what is he doing with the plot?? i get that he doesn’t likes some of the characters but i can name about five max that are still alive. it’s almost sad how the plot has just… gone? it was one of the three anime that i actually still enjoyed after 2022 and now it just feels boring. all the characters are dying, and if any of them had a vaguely meaningful death, its just ignored, like yuki dying so choso could live (choso did not live)
tbh i could be saying this because he was one of my fav characters but the never ending cycle of fighting sukuna and then dying has gotten to the point where i’m wondering if gege is going through every character he ever made and trying to kill them off until yuji either defeats him (but there’s no one else left anyway so what does it matter) or yuji dies (which makes the entire series a little bit pointless since the message would be ‘characters are weak and become strong, some characters are naturally strong. sadly they all die in the face of this old guy, boo hoo’). this approach would also make sukuna undefeatable, which makes me question how he got sealed int he first place
it also makes me question whether it’s just easier than writing a meaningful ending, not necessarily happy. aot had a happy but bittersweet ending that was actually meaningful and represented how far the characters had come in the story. instead of just getting them sliced in half to traumatise yuji.
i didn’t realise this would become a rant, but i’d also like to add that i actually dropped jjk just after sukuna made megumi his vessel (not for these reasons but because i had other things to do) so i get most of the spoilers from social media. some stuff might be wrong or i might have missed chapters that prove what i said wrong. if this is the case please tell me since this is one of the few animes that i liked enough to buy the manga, and i’d like to be proved wrong about this!! xx
#umm maybe spoilers in the tags#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#nanami kento#gojo satoru#kugisaki nobara#yuki tsukumo#geto suguru#zenin mai#choso kamo

So uh, correct me if I am wrong but from what I am able to understand regarding Ui Ui's newly revealed technique, not only can he teleports other people from a place to another, he can also swap souls without unnecessarily disrupting the host (body) - with condition to require a granted permission from its owner. That's what he meant when he mentioned that he can "swap the contents without opening the boxes". However, it is limited for only two marked individuals, which is why Yuji had to choose the people he wanted to swap soul with wisely.
Sounds familiar? Exactly. It has already foreshadowed in Chapter 222 (reference below) where Yuuji and Kusakabe were seen training while having their souls swapped. Nobody would have known or noticed that something seemed off between them until Yuuji called Kusakabe with his own name. This revelation was finally included in order to highlight how important Ui Ui's technique is in the current battlefield.
On a side note, it was revealed in Ch. 258 that Yuji swapped his soul with Kusakabe to adapt to his simple domain in Ch. 222 and probably has swapped with other person's soul to adapt Reverse Curse Technique (RCT) at the same time which we are yet to know who. There are many speculations made by the readers; and most of them believed it could possibly be Yuta, Gojo, Hakari, Choso (seems unlikely but I'll include him anyway) or Ui Ui.
While I liked the idea that it was Gojo's [that Yuji swapped his soul with,] I suddenly remembered that each time Gege revealed their group discussion, Gojo [unfortunately] was not visible so personally to me, I do not think it is possible to gain his permission while he was not around - unless Gege proves me wrong in the upcoming chapters (HOPEFUL HE DOES CUZ THAT WOULD BE DOPE ASF) but it does not matter who that person will be as long as it is beneficial to Yuji's survival to take down Sukuna.

you know that thing people make fun of in fandom where people create intensive backstories for bit characters as long as theyre male. well sometimes that is a subconscious (or not) aversion to female characters sure but sometimes its just a bit that goes too far. sometimes youre watching shibuya incident with friends and that old seance lady's grandson, you know, the one that gets toji'd, is there, and someone asks what his name is, and you just blurt out he strikes me as an Andrew. and your friend says but he's japanese. and you're me, so you double down and say sure but he might be an Andrew. prove me wrong.
so someone else looks him up and you find out he has no canonical name so you're like, see, he could be an Andrew. and your friend says but he's japanese. and someone says "maybe he just loves american culture. like a reverse weaboo." and someone says "so he just straight up changed his name? for that?" and you say "he's trans." and they say "oh he's trans. i shouldn't have doubted you."
and then later youre thinking about how it woulda been cool if gege had any interest in developing the idea of curse users beyond 'people who do crimes Just Because.' (which seems to be the main reason most of their antagonists do anything.) so you're thinking over everything we know about the world of curse users (very little) and then you think about andrew and how by all implications he was raised in curses and crime by his grandmother and how that could have been like a really cool thing to explore. so you think a little bit about what it would have been like to grow up in the world of Magic Crime. (as a trans man.) (who is a reverse weaboo.) and you're almost tempted to write that story.
and then you realize youre doing the thing. the thing people do to bit characters. so you decide you have to complete the cycle and ship andrew with the first available male character he has shared any single moment of screen time with. so he's shipped with ino, you guess. inodrew. and you're like you know what, you wouldn't be too surprised if someone has done this already, if there's at least 1 piece of cracky ship art or fanfic of inodrew, so you almost go to check if there's an inodrew tag
and then you remember that no one else knows his name is fucking Andrew.

how certain are you about gojo not being dead or his revival? do you think gege might bring him back? some buddhist revival theories make sense to me but if the main problem is that gege just wanted him gone for the plot to progress then nothing is bringing him back. i also see that a majority of people are now praising the chapter when i'm still not happy about it so it might even give the impression that the chapter is well received....
i’m not certain at all because i can’t even tell what we’re working towards plot-wise 😭
before 237, i was 50/50 about it. it could either happen because his “death” just seemed so lackluster and lacking something (a lot of things) that there might be more to come, especially knowing how capable gege was at wonderfully handling death as a subject, but it could also not happen because gojo wasn’t even given the grace of an on-screen development from his unsealing to his death. (i talk about this more here.) after 237? if he’s only going to come back as a convenient plot-device, i’d rather he stay dead.
i honestly think gege killed him off to write him out of the story because nothing is indicating to me that there’s more to what we saw in 236. not even a mention, not even a scribble of his body in the battlefield in 237. (but i don’t know. prove me wrong, gege.) 236 would’ve worked if the gojo vs. sukuna battle was a short story separate from the overarching storyline, separate from jjk in general, and instead of gojo and sukuna, they were both new characters that we got a brief rundown of prior to the battle. but like everything is, the story should be bigger than them both and the battle. 236 and the battle should fit in with everything else, even the very edges of where we started.
there’s this habit in fandoms (but especially in the jjk fandom) of retroactively justifying (and subsequently, plainly accepting) chapters/plot points that weren’t initially well-received. it’s crazy because when 236 came out, the only people praising the chapter were sukuna stans and people who heavily favor the technical side of jjk more than the narrative (and some shippers who’ve lost the actual plot long before, but what’s new).
a week later, there are all these discussions saying, “well, maybe we just didn’t get gojo’s character,” or, “well, actually it’s in-character of him.” it shouldn’t have to take a week for part of the fandom to reluctantly accept what was written. hindsight nuance is supposed to add another level of understanding, not change the whole perspective. this isn’t a case of an author withholding information to keep readers on their toes, this is a case of an author not being consistent in characterization (among other things).
we keep trying to piece mismatched puzzle pieces for it to make sense, but we’re in the long run now! the bigger picture (including gojo’s character) should be clearer than before! why are we left more confused now than before, and so close to the end of the story, too? if the majority of the fandom is confused (all of us, honestly, don’t lie), the problem isn’t us not understanding—the problem is the goddamn writing.
“let them cook!” yeah, but if you leave the fire on too long, the food burns. then the kitchen catches fire. then the house is in shambles. it’s okay to admit that the story we once knew is no longer the same. it sucks, but it really is okay to dislike a chapter and be disappointed with an author. and it’s okay to take your time grieving what you once knew (hell, it’s why i’m talking more on this app these days). and it’s okay to keep reading and following along because you still have hope.
the way i talk about this, you’d think the whole fandom is in a relationship with gege and gege just keeps negging us 😭 some people have faith, despite the downhill track record, some people are pissed and feeling cheated, and some don’t even know what to think. coping is different :’)

I Genuinely Do Not Know if Gege Akutami is a Good Action Writer
Don't get me wrong, when Gege works, he REALLY works. The cursed energy power system by ITSELF is proof that Gege is bare minimum a genius when it comes to worldbuilding. But, I don't think that Gege Akutami knows how to write a story with a big cast using that system.
I'm specifically referring to how Gege has a really bad habit of benching people that are too powerful. Now, this isn't entirely a bad thing that Gege does. When he benched Gojo, it made narrative and thematic sense. I'm considering Gojo to be the exception to this problem that Gege has. But, let's look at every character that Gege has benched for what I could see to be no other reason than they were too strong in order of most to least justified.
Fumihiko Takaba: This one is definitely the least offensive benching on this list. I can imagine that Comedian is a very tough CT to choreograph in a group setting while keeping your overall serious tone. The Shinjuku Showdown for just about its entire runtime feels tense. Comedian is not only an overpowered CT, but it's also a tonally overpowering CT. You can write Comedian to be scary if you have no idea how it works; but, that's still making the Shinjuku Showdown all about Takaba and not Sukuna like Gege intended. So, having Takaba being on the Sukuna Squad would be a lot of work on Gege to properly balance. You were going to have to bench him in some way. I'm fine with him being in charge of taking down Kenjaku. That fight was probably my favorite fight in all of JJK, and, it makes complete sense as to how and why he got benched.
Nobara Kugisaki: While I'm ecstatic that Nobara's alive, it does kind of hurt the story in retrospect, even if her return was properly built up. If Gege had simply killed Nobara, then I wouldn't be putting her on this list. Because sure, Nobara had a technique that would've allowed her to damage the soul from a distance-something that proved to be INTEGRAL during Shinjuku-so killing her could make the Shinjuku Showdown a whole lot harder, but her death meant a lot to the cast. It deeply affected Yuji and caused him to grow even more as a character. So, I was willing to let it slide. But, the fact that Gege kept her alive is proof that he knew that he had made her too powerful and he wanted to use her for later. If he had built this up more instead of one passive "well she might be alive" comment, I wouldn't be complaining. However, here we are.
Hiromi Higuruma: This one is definitely the most egregious in my opinion. The fact that he is alive significantly hurts this story in retrospect. I wouldn't even be making this list in general if he was alive. Something to keep in mind is that I'm trying to look at this story from both a powerscaling and a narrative perspective. So I get why Gege killed him. Anybody with an insta-kill weapon has to be dealt with in some shape way or form. And, once again, killing him gave Yuji more motivation. I honestly don't even get why Gege did it this time with the knowledge that there isn't going to be a JJK2. Keeping Higuruma alive exclusively hurts the story. Especially because he had already mainly served his narrative purpose in the Culling Games.
I know that this is a pretty small list. However, keep in mind, this all happened in one arc. At the very end. So, it overall hurts the package. In making this list, I have gotten to thinking about it, and, I don't think that Gege is a bad writer. I think that he does phenomenal with smaller casts. I genuinely believe that Hidden Inventory is one of the best arcs in the series. I just think that Gege got a little too ambitious and he couldn't wrap things up in time because of mangaka fatigue so he got sloppy at the very end.

Itadori Yuji is AuDHD and I can prove it
it's canon that he doesn't register pain the same as other people ("If it's just pain, that won't stop him"); this could just be that he's a stubborn lil baby OR it's hyposensitivity, a common symptom of neurodivergence.
I choose to believe that when Gege wrote that he puts off his homework until the night before, that's executive dysfunction
"I'm a lonely guy," says the incredibly kind, silly, helpful, and loving teenage boy, who logically should have TONS of close friends. He has a hard time perceiving his worth and importance to other people. Almost as if..... nay, I shan't say it......
CHRONIC foot-in-mouth syndrome. every few chapters he's saying something that makes other people cringe. but he's trying so hard!!!
I have never, not once, met a neurotypical person so devoted to an ideal as "morbid" or "depressing" as 'lead people to proper deaths'. Yuji looked at the concept of "preventing unnecessary suffering" and said "Yeah but what if I focus on this niche application of that idea that no one else cares about"
Religious Savior Coded. There's so many AuDHD characters who are Religious Savior Coded. It would piss me off except I'm an absolute sucker for it.
This one I will take feedback on, but in stressful situations, or circumstances where he's more focused on things other than Fitting In With The People Around Him, Yuji does not emote through facial expressions as often as others. Like he's not masking, perhaps.......
This Boy Compartmentalizes Like A Pro (or someone traumatized by existing as an undiagnosed AuDHD in a world not meant to accommodate him)
"He doesn't talk to Sukuna because he doesn't like him" Brother, me too, when the demons start telling you to hurt people you love the best choice is to just shove them back in their pit like the pathetic little nerds they are.
I decided a while ago that Black Flash is a physical expression of hyperfocus and I have yet to be proven wrong, soooo.
Gojo is ADHD and he and Yuji are like, So In Sync. true neurodivergent sibling/besties/parent-child energy from these two.
I'm AuDHD and I want Yuji to be, too.

I fear it’s too late. Gege has already hooked me and all he must do is wait for me to actually watch/read it. I live in fear.
also oh god what do you mean gojo has always been a living weapon and now he’s a dead one too? and that’s all he was ever going to be to anyone??? and that’s what’s was always going to happen and it’s the only thing that ever made sense??? and the parallels? oh god the parallels. stop hurting me in this way gege i beg of him.
Oh Fern... I could yap about Gojo as a weapon, a god with human complex, a teacher who cannot teach, and as a symbol of solitude forever and I would still require more time. It's just...HE'S SO....HE'S SOOOO
HE'S EVERYTHING
Gojo was never seen as a human, not even by himself, despite how often he failed in his endeavor as a god. His whole relationship with Suguru revolves around not being alone anymore, despite how that sentence proved to be wrong again. He's a god child, a selfish martyr and the source of all imbalance. He's not bad, he's not good either. He knows infinity and remains catastrophically short sighted. He's seeks love desperately while being unable to give in to it. The outcast that ruled the world, who could do ANYTHING except fit in. My heart aches for him. ACHEEEEESSSSS

hello! i've been following you since i read one of your fics from 5:40 to 7:20 am literally and fell in love with your writing, but it's not about that now hehe. i saw you brought up the topic of suguru's parents and i've always wanted to talk to someone about it! cause at the beginning i was convinced that his parents were good, almost perfect — and that's why their son was probably a definition of a good kid. but after some time i thoguht that maybe it was exactly the opposite? maybe they weren't interested in him, didn't have time for him at all and he had to grow up on his own? looking at his strong moral compass, i believe he was able to distinguish how he should behave and that's how he grew up (he was a smart kid for sure <3) yet i'm still not sure about this either. now i'm wondering whether this might have some significance in the future, but knowing gege's desire to develop side plots, such as megumi's mother for example, it probably has nothing to do with it. but maybe one day he will explain it to us </3 i am sorry if this is chaotic and linguistically incorrect, im terribly tired but just really wanted to send you this so i could maybe chill a little before you move on to another topic, haha.
im always thinking about him i don’t think i’ll ever move on from this conversation really, not until we know what happened because it still bothers me to know that he went after his parents IMMEDIATELY AFTER he decimated the whole village. i think we only know, for a fact, that his parents were non sorcerers and i could only speculate about their relationship but, going along with what i previously wrote, about his parents becoming distant once suguru’s technique starts to manifest itself, i wonder if he tried to behave nicely to compensate for the fact that he was different, that he was an anomaly and that there was something intrinsically wrong with him, almost as if trying to make himself small, invisible so he wouldn’t be as much of a burden to his parents. and maybe he grew to blame himself, for the lack of love on his parents behalf. it was his fault that his parents didn’t love him anymore, so maybe if he were good, everything could go back to normal. and i want to believe that he was inherently good so bad and i know what grief does to a person but to change so drastically? i, too, wonder if he had been repressing that rage and that.. hatred for all his life and it was only a matter of time until it started to eat away at him. maybe all that time he had been trying so hard to be good when really he wished he could just succumb to those feelings, because that was the real him. him who had known nothing but pain and rejection throughout his whole childhood, who had to bend himself to others will, maybe he thought that if he put all those negative feelings into something good, maybe then it had all been worth it. the thing that made him different, the thing that pushed his parents away, it could be used for good and then it wouldn’t be as bad, maybe he could be useful. (however, perhaps later he realized that he wasn’t the bad guy, he wasn’t to blame for all his suffering, he was the victim and that’s what made him switch, he realized non sorcerers were the perpetrators of his pain)
and again, im only speculating, he could have had a healthy relationship with his parents and went to them only one last time for comfort before he could never go back, before he became a wanted criminal. maybe their death was an ‘accident’ because when he arrived home they asked him too many questions whose blood is that on your shirt? what did you do? and suddenly he was so overwhelmed by everything that it happened, though that’s unlikely. he could also have done it to prove a point, to himself, that if he could kill his own parents then he could kill anyone and fullfill his dream, he could’ve done it to cut ties with the old suguru and to embrace the new him. and still there’s a question i can’t stop thinking about which is did they know? did they know what he was, were they scared when he unleashed the curses and did they try to protect him from them because they didn’t know what was happening. did they run or did they surrender to him. but i still believe that seeing mimiko and nanako in such a state triggered something in him, it made some bitter memories from his childhood resurface and that was all he needed to do what he should’ve done already and a long time ago.
#i actually need gege to either write something about it or hand me the pen. because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED#and thank you so much for sharing your opinion with me i love talking about him#geto#jjk meta

Yuanzhi is so ahead of SGQ in every aspect it's obvious for her and for everyone, except himself. If he knew how loved he is he wouldn't shed litres of his pear petal tears for gege. However, SGQ operates on false assumption that there is one aspect in which she can win by default - bedroom! I'd like to see her face when she realizes Yuanzhi can do that too. SGQ said "you're too young and unexperienced to understand love" but she's bluffing, it's didi's reaction that proved her right. I'd also like it if Yuanzhi took it as a challenge and immediately jumped on gege after those her words. Unexperienced no more! Canon - SGQ really is a catalyst in shangzhi's relationship. They saw what really matters, stopped just going with the flow and chose each other for real.
Yuanzhi is so ahead of SGQ in every aspect it's obvious for her and for everyone, except himself.
Oh for sure. 1000%. There’s not even a shadow of a doubt in my mind that one of the biggest things about this whole thing between them is that Didi cannot see the forest for the trees.
He’s so, so loved. But he still feels like a replacement—something easy to discard when no longer useful, that he has honed himself to a fine point of talent and ingenuity just for the sole purpose that Gege won’t leave him… ugh. The angst is absolutely SERVING.
If he knew how loved he is he wouldn't shed litres of his pear petal tears for gege.
Lbr here he cries so prettily and I’m going to shamelessly adore the way you have described his tears. This show is making me dacryphiliac.
However, SGQ operates on false assumption that there is one aspect in which she can win by default - bedroom! I'd like to see her face when she realizes Yuanzhi can do that too.
Fam, you and me both.
I genuinely can see her coming back to her room for a bout of scheming only to find Didi riding Gege’s disco stick hard enough to make the bed shake.
Bonus points if Gege presses Didi down into a mating press at some point.
:) :) :)
SGQ said "you're too young and unexperienced to understand love" but she's bluffing, it's didi's reaction that proved her right.
I love this take. Didi, for all his subterfuge and slyness, is an open book. Especially when you know which buttons to push.
And SGQ definitely knows which one to push.
Canon - SGQ really is a catalyst in shangzhi's relationship.
This is why I responded to the other anon that you could probably no homo any homo in cdramaland if you shuffle in a female character. Unfortunately, SGQ really did feel like that to me. Don’t get me wrong. She is pretty badass. I just don’t think I’m at all missing the point when I say that she seems to only act as a push to “better” the other characters around her with little to no growth in the story of her own.
This is incredibly true for shangjue and yuanzhi. So yes. She catalysed them. And ain’t that the funniest thing.
