I think you’re right—but 911’s stable of writers are too adept in writing to make mistakes like he ones you pointed out, so there’s clearly been an intention to wait (over-extended slow burn)—and yes, at this rate, we could’ve had Buddie in s06 or even s05.

The only thing I can think of is Chris. They were waiting for Chris to get a bit older and 14’s the magic number, I suppose. But today’s 12-y.o.’s are acutely aware of sexuality and he’s such a smart kid 12 could’ve worked too, but nobody wants flack from conservative or Christian types that may be too overzealous?

Also, NOW Buck is aware that what applies to heterosexual relationships also applies to gay or bisexual relationships: they all work pretty much the same way.

Well…we will see what triggers each man’s “aha” moment—because the truth is: there have been past events that could have served, well, to get them there, but didn’t.

So frustrating for us to have to wait EVEN LONGER for them to finally arrive but we won’t sacrifice witnessing the unfolding love affair or the moving in together then the buying the house together—yada, yada, yada. I need to see all of that and we deserve it for our years of loyalty.

The one thing I'm not happy about is that Buck didn't learn anything from that breakup. If we had to sit through all of that fandom bullshit for months, I would have preferred that there be a reason for it. But Buck made the same mistake and asked Tommy to move in with him for the wrong reasons and he repeated the same old "I was bad back then but now I'm worthy of a relationship!" rhetoric and he got contradicted on none of it. And now he thinks yet again that another relationship has ended because he's not enough. And we've seen that before already so many times. It's been 8 years - when does Buck get to learn from his relationship mistakes?

I see how this could lead into an arc where Buck does finally address some of those things, but then why did we sit through 6 months of Tommy? Buck is bisexual whether he has a bf or not. It just feels like wasted time. And Buck's relationships always feel that way but they take up all this screen time.

I'm pretty sure the show is going to go for Buddie at this point, and I'm happy about that and I'm trying to enjoy the journey. But my one fear is that Tim will totally squander every good opportunity to give Buck or Eddie natural growth through experiences that happen over multiple episodes just because he doesn't want to tip his hand regarding Buddie. And we'll end up getting something jammed in at the very end of an episode that doesn't make any sense so that Tim gets to say "Surprise!!!! Bet you didn't see that coming!!" Because we should see it coming based on the way the characters are growing, together and apart, over the course of multiple episodes. I don't want a bunch of wasted time where neither Buck nor Eddie does anything or moves any closer to the other and then, BAM, they kiss.

I think saying Dorian is being irrational and blinded by the behavior of a single betrayer god really isn't fully true because while yes only the Spider Queen directly forced Opal to kill Cyrus, the Wildmother and the Matron did fuck all to help them even after they begged for it. They chose their sibling. Just like they did in Downfall. They see their mortal children as lesser beings. And they can just do it with little consequence. There is an imbalance. That is what he despises.
