Can I give a hot take y'all?
As much as I love Mitsukou, I kinda hate how it's so...disconnected from the rest of the cast.
Specifically I wish Mitsuba interacts with more characters besides Kou.
Like, yeah, one of the points of their relationship is their codependency and how they're the only one who fully understands the other, but that didn't stop Kou from having arcs with other characters like Teru, Nene, and Hanako. Mitsuba? Well, he had the broadcasting club, but we've never seen them interact in the main manga post severance except for that one flashback in the nightlife arc and Natsuhiko fucking murdering Mitsuba at the school festival (I'm not counting new timeline Tsukasa, and even if I did, that's also a murder attempt so my point stands). He's interacted with Hanako like 4 times in the whole manga so far (and those were more background interactions at that), he's only interacted with Teru once (despite being in a doomed situationship with his brother), and I have literally never once seen him interact with Akane or Aoi (Picture Perfect doesn't count for obvious reasons).
Really the only one who seems to even get a hint of the depth of Mitsuba and Kou's relationship is Nene, and Nene is way too preoccupied with her own arcs right now.
(Ok I guess Hanako technically also knows, but if he's not gonna make a comment about it I'm not counting him. And again, he doesn't really have any significant interactions/moments with Mitsuba in canon anyways.)
I just wish we get to see Mitsuba's dynamics with other characters besides the broadcasting club, Kou, and Nene. I wish we get to see more characters react to the insanity that is Mitsukou's arc besides Nene just starting to get it.
Idk maybe it's just me.
#listen I get one of the main points of mitsuba's arc is that he's very alone outside of kou#but At Least let him interact with teru like come on#I want that Angst damn it#tbhk#mitsuba sousuke#kou minamoto#mitsukou

I think Teru doesn't care about the new timeline: This place doesn't matter to him, it's just a weird dream or a supernatural accident that will be solved soon and cease to mater, marriage included.
This is just like Mei's picture perfect world for Teru, something he can reject because his 'real' life is somewhere else.
He has been angry or distressed or plain cold since he first stepped into this new world, the only times Teru looks happy or blushes are when he feels like he is one step closer to going home.
The first time is when he was holding the key that he believed could give him the power to change the past. And his joy fades as soon as Akane revels that the key is useless in Teru's hands.
The second time is when he and Nene get a concrete hint to leave this new world.
The third time is when he is threatening Akane, using his engagement with Aoi as a tool "Look at me, I'll have a date with my fiance! don't you hate that? Don't you want to get back to the old timeline?? So give it your all to get us back to the real world!"
The way Teru interacts with Aoi also feels weirdly dismissive in chapter 113.
Let's push aside the nature of Teru's "I need Akane-san for my dream" deal with Aoi for a second and compare his approach with Aoi in the old timeline to the new one. He used to always try to spend time with her, starting conversations, wanting her company, and even forcing her to hang out at times.
And most important, he asked her a ton of questions. It was his main way of approaching Aoi, just asking her about her preferences, her feelings, her motivations, or whatever he felt curious about.
But in this new world? The only question Teru asked was "What are we?" and after getting his answer he basically ignored Aoi. He has no interest in the marriage or Aois's feelings about it. He should have a million questions but he has none at all, asking nothing even in the 15 minutes that he had waited with Aoi and Nene for Akane to come back.
Teru's reaction makes no sense if he was in love with Aoi, but the thing is: His behavior is too dismissive to make sense if he was in love with someone else either. An arranged marriage is a big deal. It's a promise to be tied to someone forever. So this lack of joy, anxiety, anger, fear, or anything outside short-lived surprise, is.... weird.
His shock passes fast and he goes "ok, that's how it is" about it.
He cares so little about this marriage he either doesn't realize yet that Aoi isn't happy by it or he doesn't care, since he tactlessly used their engagement to mess with Akane right she is right there. (something he never did before, the old Aoi doesn't even suspect Teru likes to use her to threaten or mess with Akane)
That's why I think he isn't taking this engagement and more importantly, this new timeline as a whole, seriously. At all.
The only time he seems to take the Aoi of this new world somewhat seriously is when he brings up Aoi's memories. The memories of the old world Aoi.
Cause this Aoi? She is a girl from a 'fabricated world'. She must be familiar but I doubt Teru considers her the 'real' Aoi.
I hope we get this marriage situation explored, I hope Teru slowly realizes this is real, if not to him, at least for everyone else: This world Aoi, this world Kou, and so on see it as reality. Maybe when Aoi gets her memories back we will get a more serious talk about the engagement? Who knows, there are still a lot of questions in the air about this new timeline.

Hi, what are your thought on the recent new chapter (ch.120). I'll be very discreet so I don't want to spoil *anyone* especially if you haven't read it by the time you came across this ask! Basically, what are your thoughts during the well scene?
haha thank you for not spoiling me or anyone else! Let me just put this under a read more...
I have read the chapter! One thing I liked about it was how the ending was relatively subtle. It's not like it isn't easy to figure out, but having Teru and Akane look down the well and guessing by their reactions what they saw was a really memorable moment for me. Especially since at first I thought Teru could have killed Kou himself!
But no, Teru presumably just exorcised his spirit. And then there's Mitsuba, who has either moved on or is still trapped in the Red House? It's a little unclear (since it seems like many spirits are trapped in the Red House and it's weird to just let Mitsuba go?) but it's implied they're both together at least. Honestly, I was very surprised that they both outright died! I knew the Red House was dangerous but the last time they came nothing really bad happened, so. :') Caught me off guard.
It does make me wonder about the details of their deaths, though. The last time we saw Mitsuba and Kou before they died, they both got dragged into that door under the staircase by Sensei. It seems like that was the door Nene was dragged into by Kou, too. Akane says in this chapter that he never noticed the door before, potentially indicating that the door doesn't appear until the Red House wants you to see it.
Since Kou was forced to obey the House's will and lure in new prey, I think what happened is the House decided to pick off the Red House Investigation Squad (aka Aoi, Akane, Teru, and Nene) one-by-one. This is why Kou brought Nene to Yugi-sensei and couldn't help her when she called his own name. Incidentally, my personal theory is that when she called Hanako-kun's name, it snapped Kou out of his senses and allowed him to temporarily buy Nene some time...
Anyway, since Kou brought Nene to Sensei, I think it's possible that Sensei simply did what he did to Nene to Kou and Mitsuba. Sensei wrapped her up in his tentacles then said something about reaching the bottom of the hole and entering the land of the gods. Well, at the end of the chapter, we see the end of the hole inside the well, and it's presumably filled with corpses. I'm guessing Sensei throws his victims in there, either to kill them or after he's done the deed. Or both? I mean, in one drawing he has an axe. It's possible he might switch it up depending on the victim...
At one point Kou describes Sensei as one of the victims of the Red House, but doesn't explain why Sensei has such a high kill count. Kou says the house uses the spirits of its victims to attract new food for the Red House to devour, and we see Kou attempt to throw Nene down the well, but Kou's initial strategy was to take her to Sensei and have him deal with her. It makes me wonder why Sensei is so special. My guess is it's related to Tsukasa-kun, the evil spirit from Kamome Academy, who Kou interacted with before his demise in the Red House. We saw Yugi-sensei spread rumors about Tsukasa-kun during his job at Kamome Academy, and it makes me wonder if he was already being controlled by the Red House at that time. Or at least manipulated by it. Perhaps the Red House tricked him into thinking it was for the good of his brother or something...? I don't know. But it makes sense to me if the twins are sort of working together to bring in new victims for the Red House to devour. Willingly or not.
Aaanyway, the Entity growing so strong in this timeline is really concerning! It makes me wonder if it's a taste of what's to come. While Kako and Mirai are catching a lot of criticism for this terrible death-filled timeline, it makes me wonder if it'a actually a safer timeline in the long run. Perhaps the city of Kamome is in even more danger in the old timeline. For now, things seems relatively peaceful...but perhaps later down the line it'll get ugly...
Oh, one final thing on the well! In the original timeline, Tsukasa sacrifices himself to grant Amane's wish by going into a hole. This hole is filled with water, symbolically linking it to the well the Red House is built on. I just find that interesting, because in this timeline the well has Kou's corpse in it (and likely several more). It makes me wonder if Sensei's high kill count is because he wants to have a wish granted.
Omg... wait... is it a freaking WISHING well? How did I never realize this before. I feel dumb. 😭

Ch 109: Random thoughts (part 2)
Part 1 ...
Continuing with the court, the last case is...
Yugi Tsukasa.
The amount of cuteness! What a harmless kitty! Does he look like a criminal to you? He is so innocent! He is no criminal! Such innocent face hadn't and won't ever comment one single wrong thing in his life! ♪
...........
Look at him. Little mew mew. That's what I call the guy who is really truthful and says whatever he has in mind. A guy with no secrets as he puts it. ☆ you're keeping some huge facts to yourself still, am I wrong? Should we 'question' them to get an answer?
The 2's reaction though... it's so funny.
Wow. So now it's not only Tsukasa who made some kind of Akane expression but Hanako too.
Tsukasa's words about his assistant...
I wonder if Nene caught any meaning behind it? Her wish stands in sharp contrast with sakura's wish? For sakura's wish to come true, her own wish of living is no more? For her wish of staying alive, sakura's wish is no more?
Would she recall a thing of this sort?
And question her fast made 'wrong' conclusion of their 'talk'.
I will have hope she would. She won't forget it like she forgot Tsukasa is a yorishiro and didn't recall it or thought of the fact one day it will be his turn when he took her to destroy No.1's OR that moment Tsukasa said he needs the yorishiro destroyed for sakura's wish to come true. at least think of your own life span 'wish' Nene.
It feels kind of funny when I see something like 'Tsukasa goes all the way when he works on granting a wish'. That's true but... it's not like what he is doing there is only for her sake. He said a part of the truth but didn't voice it all. That's the catch. He has his 'own' motive out of doing what he has been doing so far.
Speaking a bit further into it, neither Hanako (now or ch 96) nor the keepers (Teru being a Minamoto for that matter, who knows lots of secrets behind the school) paid real attention to sakura being mentioned, unlike No. 6. I wonder if that means she is directly involved with appointing 'him' as a mystery only? Or if she has some kind of past interaction with him or him case in a way since she is aware of his story with Sumire and was the one in charge from behind the scenes of the No.6 yorishiro situation.
It feels the other mysteries don't hold any ties with her ruling over them or whatever or even know her? And having Tsukasa mentioning her, he must have known better than to do that if it will attract unnecessary attention for a one in her 'position'. Hmm....
This thing... uhhh... this boy... this boy... this boy... he gives me lots of work. ♡ 3-2-1... let's go...
Lovely
curious
little
kitty. ♡
Is he sitting on books btw? That's funny.
Have to say... Tsukasa's deal with the clock had me laughing a lot... it feels like he hates it... or even... it feels more like despise really. He wants the clock to be blown to smithereens. Wooh! Maybe since it gave both him and especially Amane a hard time.
Come to think of it, we can make the picture a bit wider...
We can start with a yorishiro destruction, leading to a brilliant boundary 'falling apart' wonder if he is curious to see what will happen once he is destroyed with Hanako's boundary
Moving to a destruction of a clock...
So while Amane was trying to fix the clock he was thinking: how would it look when it's destroyed into tiny pieces? Showing that almighty face? ♡ ........
-
Now I have to say some nice writing decision it was to have Tsu going to see the ruins of the clock. ♪
Look who's pleased with the outcome. Happy for you my dear. You got to see a thing you've been waiting to see for so long. And, got rid of a thing you despise. ~ Enjoy your victory. ☆ Hmm, is it safe to assume he went for kaku first to git rid of his ability of turning back time? He doesnt want things to be undone. Meaning, he wants things just the way they are now with the clock (or kaku's power of turning back time is annoying in general). I wonder what would come of the students and the people around the school then
Following that line of thought, I can understand Tsukasa in this issue but...
The thing I wonder about now with Tsu-clock relationship, is apparently his want to have Nene using it to time travel. Why did he tell her about the usage of the clock when he wanted it destoryed even since back then? What did he want to accomplish in there? Nothing was shown to be done on that regard. And... I think he really might not actually care much to use the clock to have Nene time travel, he has the nowhere space under his command and already used it to make Nene do so. So... the clock is not really needed! Expanding the image a little bit... the 'clock' keepers...
Perhaps he has a thing against them themselves. I wonder what they may have done to get him to feel that way...
???????
Seriously, Amane's whole deal with the clock (and maybe 'deal' with the keepers themselves?) is ....... I still can't get rid of what Tsu said to Nene about the future and past blending together in that festival. So... what if Amane got to actually 'do' something, resulting in what Tsukasa talked about, yet the keepers 'kaku' turned back time anyway and made whatever he did go to waste? Or maybe something across these lines... something serious happened back in time, right?
Hmm......
-
Then a school...
And,
The world itself.
What a force he is. ♡
It makes sense. He despises this unfair word and sees it not needed, so whatever factor to keep it up and support it is equally unworthy, unneeded.
A world that holds people back from doing what they want and to be who they are with its unfair rules is better off broken. Especially, when it's a matter of a person who means the world itself to him.
"It's said the annihilation of a civilization is as brilliant as fireworks"
In this case a world let's say. Hmm, who loves fireworks? I hope he'll be getting the fireworks he must be waiting to see. ~ if we were to assume the world will get 'destroyed' in the literal meaning creating such a 'view'.
Speaking of Tsukasa's wants to do/see things... this arc has some nice stuff included...
He fantasized about creating an artificial human ever since he was a child and got to see it as 12 y.o Tsu even before creating it, and granted created him in the future as yorishiro Tsukasa. Same goes for the clock, 12 y.o was interested to see it destroyed and granted got that as yorishiro Tsu. I wonder if back in the time he was still 12 y.o Tsukasa he also got to see/know the clock will be broken in the future some way or another like he came to see Mit 2.0 (let's take the glimpses of the future he told Nene about as a possibility). Maybe it was yorishiro Tsukasa instead who knew the clock will be destroyed in the near future...? This boy has some further knowledge into things so I like to keep that in mind. ☆
I do wonder if he has any other things he looks forward to in mind. Amaze me, Tsu. ~
Ahem, back to the 'court'...
So, the keepers made the judgment of having Tsukasa to be 'guilty'. For real? Only Tsukasa is guilty? What a funny court, what an idiotic court. Why aren't they so smart? Seriously, I was hoping to see the keepers much smarter than this! Like, just simply, the 4 guys in there, NONE of them actually made the action of breaking the clock, yet... the guy who did it is... apparently not guilty, nor the one who led Tsukasa and the guy to do it in the first place. What a joke of a court. So, the table turning on them at the end is a well-deserved result. Kinda funny, it felt as if the whole 'order in court' and the court itself... was never 'ruled' by them at all but actually 'him'. He left things go by assumingly as they want but he was just waiting for the moment to turn the table upside down. How sly of him. He is truly something, huh? No wonder he was having fun at the start of the chapter. What a force he is.~
Their suggestions feel to represent some stuff, actually... Akane.. 'feeding'. Just imagining how powerful these owls would get out of it. XD
Kaku... well...
WOW, Tsukasa! Do you plan to put Kaku to use somehow? lol wonder if kaku regretted his last words like no. 3
Cool to see this thing referenced once more in a way. I'm so weak to this sly smirk Tsuuu!!! The confident gaze!!! Uhh!!!
Wonder how was Amane feeling in there. I mean, sheesh. I wonder if he himself wanted to go wild on the keepers. Seriously? You don't know who you're saying you want to feed to the owls or turn into a gear or turn to dust. That's his moon and yorishiro mind you. How dare you say such things and intend to harm his precious prize possession.
My, cool Tsu is something to get me... she came to him by herself. Now, I think that's what I call one great mastermind, 'ruler' and the master of his 'games'. He played with them all and made them his puppets, that's so funny. He targeted their clock, yorishiro, then them from the start. ♪ He already had things figured out, everything was held in the balm of his hand. ☆
I mean, I have to say I've been wondering how will he take things after ch 108, but here we are.
Depending on Tsukasa's words after taking Kaku down, I have to say he proved his nimbleness, and being one intelligent strategist. ☆
It sees he had 'targeting the keepers' in mind for some time, and was waiting to take action, and little Mirai gave him the opening he needed. ☆
I wonder when that came to his mind, after singing with Nene, he wanted to go back to searching and was annoyed with Mirai's tickings. He got captured, then assumingly had to get 'free' with Nene's help and later Hanako's. Here I will stop, was he acting all along to be 'weak' by any chance?
Let's see... Mirai's 'seal' doesn't hold anything on him, it's either it doesn't affect him at all or it did, yet he can break free whenever he wants but 'decided' to look weak. So, he was acting or pretending to be vulnerable. Was he testing if Amane would come to save him by any chance? Was he going to actually save himself and Nene if that didn't happen? He let Hanako get captured just like that so his plan will succeed wizard Tsu vibes I'm telling you, what a mischievous lil bro. hehe oh... if he let Hanako get captured too so it would look like a small game of you didn't free me so I didn't help you. we're alike in the situation! pffft. what a fun soul
He can use Kokujoudai, and can master his OP strength. What a lie you told Nene Tsu. It can still be the truth, at that moment he was under the effect of the seal for real, but in the court he simply broke free. Anyway, some slyness lies in there. Even Nene is not supposed to know he is not actually 'weak'. How careful. He doesn't show anything to you, unpredictable. Always this way with his plans. The inside of his head. ~~~~ So Tsukasa, huh? ♡ ~
Now I know why. You amazing boy, you only give up limited access into what's inside of your head. No one gets you better than yourself. Me and myself.~~~

In the meanwhile, I'm siding with this guy! ♪
Let's keep working hard into getting to know him better! ☆
Going back to the chapter... I'm laughing Hanako really didn't need to set Tsukasa free. He can take care of it himself. Even without his sly move of making little Mirai move the time of his handcuffs forward. He will get what he wants, whenever he wants, however he wants. ♪

Okay! ♡ listening to Cascade's song dangerous while writing this. it randomly played and wow, have to say some parts of it are fitting for such glory. Give me a break, Tsu-force! Or don't! Uh, I can't decide because of you! ♡ ♡ ♡
Funny, Tsu showed me all the animals I associate him with in one chapter. first a cat, then a fox and later a powerful unmerciful tiger never to be underestimated or messed with. Wow. ☆
Hmm, he still kept his words of 'gentle with girls' huh? Even though she wasn't 'gentle' with him now or even back then, he didn't harm her really. Just had koku hold her. Wonder if that will keep up once he turns his focus to look for the yorishiro in her.
As for Kako, I dooo wonder if he previously intended to start with him, moving time back will be annoying. And, just maybe... a payment for embarrassing and making jokes of big bro earlier? Or again... is there a chance Tsukasa despised not only the clock but the keepers on a personal level in the past (and now)? Hmm...
Hanako's shout to Tsu to stop, I wonder if it was out of his fear for Tsu's well-being and safety or actually the other way around, he somehow saw what happened with No.3 coming and shouted at him to stop. He knows how powerful Tsu is, right? Looking at it either way is cool, one he sees Tsu powerful, the other he is concerned about the safety of his precious Tsu. ♪
Tsu being 'impossible to control'... I find that chaaaarming about him! He is free-willed! A force moving his own way, thinks his own way, sees things his own way, follows his own beliefs and works things out his way. Truely Fascinating. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
However, I will have to say I used to believe if there is a person Tsukasa will listen to, it will be Amane. that's how the story made me think, chapter 108 too, and the magic AU kinda. 'wonder what's the inside of a ghost is like/wizard' Tsu -I saw him a lot in Tsu this chapter!- was a force no one stood a chance against until Amane called him and he acted like a good little boy I had it in me Amane can tame him… but… it seems it's to a certain degree, too. When Tsukasa wants a thing for real, he won't back down even if Amane told him to stop? Hmm… I find that charming, too. And it's still cute when he listens to Amane… uh… both ways are nice! ♡ ♡ ♡
You're WOW! ♡ What a lovely curious mind you have. ~
So, was the ticking Tsu heard coming out of little Mirai's clock only or also her 'inside' as well? Kako seems to have these 'tick tock', and back in their first arc, wherever Mirai goes there is also ticking. Do they also 'tick tock' with their clocks? Never expected the keepers to be this kind of creatures. Hmm... wonder if they work like robots and can get fixed? I see Tsu might have interest in there? Some experiments? They feel similar to artificial humans in a way? But maybe he won't be too interested?
The ending!
I wonder if Tsukasa is referring here to Akane or little Mirai? Akane was naturally standing near Tsu and it seems he is looking at Tsu but Tsu is looking ahead of him (not at Akane who is beside him), perhaps at captured Mirai? Hmm...
It's worth mentioning it looks like he went for the first clock keeper in charge aka kaku, then following this pattern, he'll go for the second keeper aka: Mirai. Then the third aka Akane.
I see she has a potential of having the yorishiro within her.
So, I wonder together with Tsu what's the inside of Mirai is like!
As for Akane... will he try stopping time? Instead of holding his clock he is holding the little hammer? Won't work on him, Akane. You saw that. Unless little hammer has other uses beside that seal or attacking? Does he intend to free Teru? He is the one who sealed him. I wonder if he can free Hanako too, since he wasn't the one to seal him, but rather Mirai.
Teru... to think a meeting between him and Tsukasa was so waited by the fandom... what was his reaction to seeing Tsukasa just going that way before his eyes? His definition of 'Evil spirit' shins in there. Mr. Teru??? How are things going by you? I think he may seem far more dangerous to you than Hanako you're chasing? Now, if Teru knew Tsu is Hanako's yorishrio... I assume that won't be good news for hanako, for many reasons...
I wonder if AidaIro intend to have something go on between the 2? Now or on later stages. They never paid much attention to each other this chapter, beside the time Tsukasa commented on Teru.
I do wonder how the next chapter will 'play' out, will they have a some kind of fight with Tsu? Hmm... maybe things will take a whole different turn for Akane and the rest, maybe Tsukasa as well. Anything can happen. ..........
Just having the possibility of 'the yorishiro might also not be within any of the 3' is funny. You might need to come up with a second back up plan Tsu. Will that be the case?
If things came to an end with the past and future keepers gone... and the yorishiro got destroyed... I wonder what would come of Akane's 'contract' with them. Will he be free? Return to be a normal human with no supernatural abilities? Will he feel happy to finally be free? I mean he showed he was tricked into working for No.1 and was furious about the fact. I wonder how he'll react, especially when things might come to his promise of healing Aoi's hand, as a normal person he really can do nothing I think? Hmm... his feelings might be contradictory somehow... ..........
My mind even decided to have the thought of 'what if we can repair the keepers'. Thinking about Mit 2.0, he can regenerate by eating weak supernatural representing the way he is made. The keepers seem to be like 'robots'? If their pieces were to be replaced or put back efficiently together somehow, would that bring them back in shape? or even, what if kaku was smart and careful enough to previously put a replacement in his place? I need to see the keepers being a threat. I want to see how much of a force they are. While I do want to see Tsukasa having his victory, it will be fun to see him overcomig a few hurdles.
Hmm... anyway! The conclusion we got out of the chapter simply is...!
At the end, the court was his to rule and master. ~~~
Hmm, well... after all he is the guy named...
Tsukasa.
What a lovely name fitting for him. A perfect match for a perfect guy. He makes me so proud of him. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

this is how you fall in love — tsukishima kei x fem!reader (5.2k words)
a very late entry for @zorotits (@/tsukina)'s 3k collab! — collab masterlist
synopsis: tsukishima kei is your first love, your second love, and the man you once thought would be your last love. marriage terrified you, and commitment scared him away. another story of childhood friends turned lovers turned enemies. how can you make things work?
warnings: some suggestive language and implied sex, nothing too explicit, though i would appreciate it if babies under 17 didn’t interact with this one. biological family trauma. mention of bruises. toxic behavior, complicated relationship. angst, hurt / comfort.
playlist (songs on loop when i was writing)
sun in his eyes. your first and fondest memory of tsukishima kei, back from when he was still your knight in shining armor, and you, his damsel in distress. an ironic scoff escapes your lips at the thought — how would he save you from himself? lately he has been the cause of your distress. how much things have changed.
all these years with him feel like a fever dream right now. you miss him, and rationality says you should hate him for hurting you over and over, for not taking all the chances you have given him to become a better lover. but you cannot just do that. when you think of kei, you can only picture golden, a ray of sunshine. you remember describing him in such an unlikely way. only a fool in love would portray kei so delicately. he is anything but warmth, yet he feels like home. to you. kei, your kei, is a palette of warm hues. you have held onto the way he cradles you in his embrace during passionate nights, and you have seen something akin to love pooling his gaze every time his lips meet yours.
a glass clinking against yours brings you back to the present. this wine leaves a bittersweet taste in your mouth. you feign an apologetic smile before looking up, ready to dismiss whoever is standing there. but before words leave your lips, a choked gasp does.
“why didn’t you tell me you’re back from your honeymoon?”, the intruder chuckles at your accusing tone.
“if i were to tell you, it wouldn’t be a surprise. congratulations, little one”, you scowl at his reply, swatting his hand away when he tries to ruffle your hair. some things may change, but others will stay the same, just like how tsukishima akiteru will never stop babying you.
“thank you, ‘teru”, you suppose this is not too bad. after breaking up with kei for the umpteenth time, work turned into the favorite subject you could pour your love into. at least it wouldn’t break your heart. it seems that your effort paid back, as you find yourself standing in the middle of this gala as a representative of the law firm you work under.
akiteru knows you hate small talk, thus he lets background music fill your silence, and finds a chance to leave you alone when his wife comes around. they are an endearing couple, you cannot help but envy them.
you notice a man behind the pair, whose eye color is similar to kei’s, maybe a tad bit darker. he stands up and walks in your direction, puzzled. a faint blush tints your cheeks at his closeness, perhaps your blurred stare was too insistent.
“can i help you, miss?”, damn, he has a nice voice, not too deep, not too coy. his muscular frame, imposing, is a desirable sight too. ignoring your first impression of him, his vague resemblance with kei, he looks like fine one-night-stand material. you want to smack yourself for such shameless thoughts. it must be the alcohol. get yourself together, y/n, you are here for work.
“has anyone ever told you how pretty hazel eyes are?”, the stranger raises an eyebrow, entertained. his eyes are too dark to be hazel, you are probably mistaking him for someone else in your half-drunken state. a jerk who broke your heart, he dares to guess.
“you just did”, his response is followed by your giggles. you have a pretty laugh and kissable lips, he admits to himself after checking you out. don’t get him wrong, he is not planning to make any move on you, and knows better than to take advantage of someone who cannot consent.
“okay, mr. hazel eyes”, you are somewhat sober, at least, sober enough to not call him kei, “may i have your name?”.
“yuuji. terushima yuuji. and you are?”, he finds you amusing. a woman clad in such an expensive dress must hold some status, but you look nothing like other people in this hall. you seem lost, broken, vulnerable. almost like a deer in headlights. he wonders why.
“y/n. tsukishima y/n”, the name tastes more bittersweet than the wine, you note. it was so close to becoming your legal name.
a feminine voice calls your companion, and you furrow your brows. what have you gotten yourself into? a man with a date? seriously, y/n, what the hell?
“duty calls, y/n. i’m my sister’s date for the night”, yuuji makes sure to hand his number in before making his way to his sibling, and cackles when you sigh in relief at the mention of ‘sister’. you really aren’t in the mood to deal with jealous girlfriends.
after waving him goodbye, a sole glance at your surroundings urges you to get out of here. fancy dresses and tailored suits. perfect smiles and polite reverences. socializing with high-class society was never your forte. you hate their rules and unhealthy obsession with perfectionism. hypocrisy and play-pretending remind you of that woman you used to call mother.
there is a secluded balcony, where you finally breathe in some fresh air and call your coworker. your words are still a bit slurred, and she is quick to understand you really need to call it a day. done with playing cinderella tonight, you are craving the weight of your duvet and the comfort of your bed.
the jingle of your keys echoes in your apartment. you turn on the lights, looking around, your eyes frantically searching for any hint of kei. nothing. it is a cozy place, but it feels empty without him.
waking up the next morning with tear-stained cheeks, puffy eyes, and a headache is something you should have expected when you let yourself wallow in misery. a look in the mirror has you grimacing. who is that? you cannot head to work with those eyebags. bless your concealer and makeup skills. the person smiling back at you is recognizable now. it's time to girlboss, y/n.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
responsibilities come with your promotion, you are busier than ever, and days pass by quickly. your routine stays the same: food, sleep, work. it’s as if you don’t really remember how to live outside of that if he’s not by your side, but at least you are not neglecting your body’s needs. it’s only when akiteru calls you to go back to tsukishima’s that you realize how detached you have been from the outer world.
“ma!”, you have missed her dearly, she has always been there to nurse your heart when others break it, be it your biological mother, or kei. tsukishima’s mother welcomes you in her embrace. she also is home to you. this woman took you under her wing when you were a helpless little girl, and made it her goal to raise you as a fighter, having her own children protecting you along the way.
she was a teacher in the nursery school your biological mother had enrolled you in, and noticed something about you was off within the first days. when parents came to pick up their kids at school, you were always standing on the corner, watching their interactions with sparkling eyes. you always were the last kid to be picked up, your mom would show up faking an apologetic smile, but you didn’t seem too upset. you enjoyed the teacher’s company, and she, too, grew fond of you.
when you came to school with alarming bruises, she decided it was time to take matters in her hands. some calls to authorities, lots of paperwork, and a couple of years later, your biological parents were deprived of your custody. tsukishima’s mother treated you like a child of her own, she gave you a family, and the maternal love you didn’t imagine you would ever receive.
you have found yourself considering, sometimes, how your life would be if ma had never figured out you were being abused. perhaps you would not have met kei. that would have saved your heart, but would also mean giving up all the love from your found family.
“you don’t look too good”, she has asked you to stay and chat with her after dinner. you offer a sheepish smile at her observation, nothing ever has escaped from her eyes. after all, she was the one who discovered the seed of your love for kei planted in a young heart. it must have been her mother's instinct.
“i miss kei”, she is taken aback by your serenity. you don’t look like someone who just got her heart broken. right, it’s not the first time. damn that son of hers.
“he’ll be back”, you nod at the mother's reply. kei always comes back to piece your heart together, just to stomp on it and leave again. your fear of abandonment and your only lover have taught you to love until it hurts, until your heart aches. you love too fully, not knowing when to stop. perhaps your love suffocated him. maybe it was all too much.
“i met someone who looks like kei”, a change of topic. your voice drifts off in melancholy.
“but you aren't going to see him again”, she assumes right. if there's someone who might know you better than you do, it must be her. you don't wish to reach out. his pretty eyes captivated you for a blink of time, but they are not hazel, not kei's eyes. and it wouldn't be fair for yuuji to be used as a substitute. you don't want him to get the wrong idea, nor can you really bring yourself to kiss anyone who is not kei. it's not like you haven't tried that before.
things will eventually fall back to their place, she promises before sending you off. her words have always been more convincing than others'.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
dim lights, alcohol, and a crowded room. when you see him again, a few months later, your mind takes you back to the night he made you a woman. the atmosphere was similar to tonight's; the lights were somewhat brighter and there wasn't as much sexual tension. the both of you were in a rebellious phase, and wanted to try what they had told you was exclusively for couples. a taste of the forbidden. it was sweet, he wanted more, and you wanted him. your relationship went from childhood friends to something you wouldn't quite label as friends with benefits. you caught feelings. and he run away. that was the first time.
back then, ma wasn’t too surprised at kei’s sudden disappearance and your upset state. she stayed by your side, not pressuring you to talk, and you found solace in her presence. you knew that conversation would have to take place eventually, so you spoke. you told her about your love for her youngest son, how he made the butterflies in your stomach go crazy, how you were afraid that he would leave you permanently. you had expected tsukishima’s mother to be disappointed in you, but instead, she held you close and advised you to give yourself some time. you still remember to this day how she told you love is not supposed to be too complicated — what’s easy is right.
“y/n”, your name sounds so delicate, so doting, in his voice. his greeting gives you an excuse to check him out and disguise your zoning out. he looks tired, but not too changed. ever since he has started to work in the museum, he requests doing research abroad every time you two break up. you have already lost count of how many times this has happened.
“welcome back, we can catch up later. i have to go”, that's your offer to solve things in bed, like you always do. bite marks, hickeys, and sex. he hasn't learnt any alternative way to show an ounce of love. you cannot keep pondering on his way of romance, you are here with your coworkers to celebrate a win on a difficult case.
he doesn’t stop you, but pulls you in for a kiss. he still tastes the same, addictive — strawberry gum flavored, and the faintest hint of cigarettes. you had told him you liked it better when his kisses tasted like strawberries. he hasn’t forgotten. your lips draw a satisfied smile before he lets you go.
“your boyfriend?”, someone asks when you sit back. people are unnecessarily nosy sometimes, but you are in a nice mood tonight, so you entertain them.
“my ex”, you feel his gaze on you, and don't hesitate in clarifying their assumption. you haven't made up yet, so he's still your ex. your colleagues look astonished, but you aren’t going to elaborate on your love life.
despite the loud music, kei overhears your response, and for some reason beyond his understanding, he is not precisely happy. his attention all focused on every move of yours, you look captivating in that black dress. as though you have noticed his possessive stare, you offer a coquettish smile. if he wants people to misunderstand your complicated relationship, two can play this game.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
when you wake up the following morning with a sore body, something feels different. you try to sit up, just to feel the grip on your waist tighten. kei is still here. wait. what? why is he still here? any sign of sleepiness retreats, and you hold your breath, waiting for him to get up.
“morning”, his hoarse voice snaps you out of your trance, it’s unfair how ethereal this man looks. he stretches, lazily, and doesn’t budge at your questioning gaze. you are used to him leaving after using your body. waking up to his hold on you and the innocence emanating from his sleeping figure is all new. which game is he playing now?
“kei”, you fight your urge to huff in annoyance when he hums in acknowledgment, “what is this?”.
“i thought we were alright now?”, heavens, his audacity will be the death of you.
“does this seem alright to you? is it really alright to leave and come back as if nothing happened?”, tears are welling up in your eyes, and his silence only serves to fuel your anger, “as if you didn’t break my heart again? what am i to you? what about us? tell me, kei. what the fuck is this game you are on? i hate it. i hate you”.
“y/n, calm down”, it sounds like a warning.
you take some deep breaths, arranging your thoughts. you guys never had an actual talk revolving around your relationship. in fact, you don’t even know why you are demanding answers from him.
“are you going to leave again?”, you aren’t sure if you want to hear his reply.
“do you want me to?”, he has mastered the art of turning the tables on. yes, a meek voice insists in your mind, he isn’t committing to this relationship. no, a desperate voice screams in your heart, you cannot afford another heartbreak.
“no. can we talk about this? please”, you cling to your blanket, in search of comfort.
“i apologise. didn’t know i hurt you so much”, he sounds more sincere than he has ever been, and he reaches your hand, a thumb mindlessly caressing it while he reassures you, “didn’t mean to hurt you. i’m sorry. would never do that on purpose”.
“i know, kei”, he might not have handled things the best way, he has a sharp tongue, and he probably excels in running away, but he would never hurt you on purpose.
tsukishima kei has always adored y/n. that’s a fact.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
life seems to be back on track after you confronted him about your conflicted feelings. you agreed on staying as friends, just friends, no benefits, until everything gets clearer. kei still often graces you with his presence, and there has been a subtle change; you feel like he is back for real.
it just so happens that fate is a player, it tries to block your way to make up with him. but this time, you are two grown ups not willing to fall victim to miscommunication.
“you were saying?”, his furrowed brows, tiny pout, and rougher voice make you feel some kind of way. it’s a twisted feeling, you know. but you love it when he is jealous.
“he is no one, kei. you should have listened to ma’s whole sentence”, he hung up before poor mom could explain the situation.
“that’s not the point, i’ll call her back later”, you chuckle at his sheepishness and deflated tone. his expression looks exactly like the one he had many years ago, when he was caught sneaking candies for you.
“you were abroad, i met someone at the gala after my promotion. yuuji terushima, mr. hazel eyes. he looked like you”, you recall the encounter.
his face shifts after hearing the name. wasn’t terushima the captain from that school in miyagi? they don’t really look alike, he thinks.
“i almost surrendered, but…”, you hesitate.
“but?”, he questions.
“but i’m rational enough to tell i don’t want anyone but you”, there, it’s finally out. a weight lifted off your shoulders. or heart.
kei exhales, relieved. his mind was running wild with all the possible ways you could have ended your sentence, and for a moment, he panicked. he knows it’s the right time to out his thoughts too. if anything, he is not going to lose you over unspoken feelings.
“i love you so much it scares me”, it’s raw emotion, but his stance does not waver at all, “i didn’t mean to run away, but after i did the first time, avoiding this talk seemed more appropriate. it was easier. but i don’t want to lose you, y/n. just give me a chance to say i love you, please”.
an ability you have not acquired yet is one that would have you denying his requests — you just don’t know how to say no when he asks so nicely. and besides, this is the moment you have been waiting for ever since your relationship started to pave way on the romantic side, even when you couldn’t tell lust and love apart. you nod, giving him an opportunity to be back, secretly hoping this will be the definitive.
“i want to take things slowly”, you make it clear from the start to avoid more misunderstandings, “smothering you in love will probably scare you, and i don’t want to force you to commit so early. let’s fall in love, all over again”.
“thank you”, he appreciates your thoroughness. after so much damage, taking baby steps presents itself as the safest option, “let’s fall in love, all over again”.
tsukishima kei will learn to love you right. that’s a promise.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
“so you are dating her for real this time?”, in an extended family dinner, someone is brave enough to inquire. you don’t give it any importance, no offense is taken. it’s only obvious that, after witnessing your boyfriend’s more tamed attitude, people are getting curious.
“yes, i am. you have a problem with that?”, his pressed lips and twitching brow show how much impertinent questions are testing his patience. he knows he has made some mistakes in the past, acquaintances’ constant reminders are not needed.
you reach for his hand under the table, and give it a tiny squeeze. his expression softens, and his demeanor relaxes. you are here. you don’t care about what they are saying. that’s enough for him.
“they are grown ups now. just let them be”, your interaction doesn’t go unnoticed by tsukishima’s mother. she holds back a joyful smile before intervening in the conversation, “i’m sure y/n doesn’t want to dwell in the past, and kei is trying to become better for her”.
her mom instinct is scarily accurate.
when fight or flight make an appearance in your relationship, you can tell how much things have changed. flight had always been his default response. this time, though, he is ready to fight, for you, for your love. he wants things to work out, he wants to love you right.
people you have met after you two became a stable couple think your love is that of a fairy tale’s. how naive of them. being with kei tsukishima is challenging, as most would say. they aren’t ready to endure his distant surface and explore the most intricate sides of his internal world. you are his exception, he would tell with the most subtle hint of pride.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
golden rays of sunlight filter through your shared apartment’s curtains, and reflect on kei’s pupils, you experience a déjà vu. that year, after your biological parents lost their custody, tsukishima’s mother took you to their home, where you first met him. even at sunset, the last rays of sunlight still lingered, kissing his delicate features goodbye. back then, the first smile he had directed at you was radiant, and your young heart already knew he would become someone important to you.
“you are staring again”, he is staring back at you, a glint of mischievousness in his hazel eyes.
“mother nature and whoever is in charge of creation have always favored you”, it’s a mindless comment, but it piques his interest.
“how so?”, he has a slight idea of what it could be, but still insists on hearing you elaborate.
“come on, kei! don’t act as if you didn’t know how pretty you are”, your small huff earns his cheekiest grin. he has always liked praise, especially if it comes from you.
“you should talk more, you know? it’s rare to hear you say nice things”, he is such a tease.
“and it’s unfair that you are asking for praise when literally everyone would worship you”, you pause for a second, thinking your words through, “i take that back. they would worship you as long as you kept your mouth shut. not everyone likes that sharp tongue of yours”.
“but you like it”, his cocky smirk is suggesting all the possible uses of that sharp tongue of his, all for your enjoyment. your cheeks flare bright red, and you move away, putting some distance between your bodies.
your phone rings, saving you from further embarrassment, and you glare at him before picking it up. in response, he chuckles, unamused.
kei watches as you speak excitedly, loses himself in the way your starry eyes blink, and how your head tilts a little while pondering, and that sweet smile of yours. you are perfect. he doesn’t think much before pecking your lips. you gasp, caught off guard, and your interlocutor inquires if you are in trouble. it’s nothing, you say, and your boyfriend’s smile grows wider — oh, he’s going to have so much fun.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
kei is not a huge fan of physical touch, but does anything for you. words of affirmation are a negative too, he is not really vocal about his affection. gift-giving gives him a headache, he is not good at guessing your preferences, unless you had mentioned them before. acts of service is a somewhat unexplored territory. so that leaves only one option. and, then, one day, you come to the realization that kei’s main love language is, effectively, quality time.
perhaps he is trying to make up for all the lost time and wasted opportunities, or it is simply because he does not like when others interrupt his time with you. you don’t know that. what you know, though, is how good it feels to be in his company. your phones turned off, the doors locked. the outer world does not matter when it’s only tsukishima kei and y/n in their little safe space.
“kei?”, it’s barely a whisper, checking if he’s still awake. he turns around, and you catch a glimpse of his hazel eyes in the moonlight. they don’t look as bright as when they are under the sun, but they are very pretty in the dark too.
he wraps an arm around your waist, hums softly to encourage you to keep talking.
“when did you know you were in love?”, it’s curiosity, and maybe, just maybe, your need for reassurance. he notices the slightest waver of your voice, and doesn’t hesitate to hold you closer. he wants you to feel how important you are, how much you mean to him.
“after our first time”, he is met with your skeptical stare. it’s hard to believe he has harbored feelings for you since the beginning.
“really?”, you don’t want to question him, but the words escape before your mind can even process them. you look at him with apologetic doe eyes, he brushes it off with a gentle smile.
“really”, a firm tone leaves no room for doubt, “i ran away like a coward, but have always loved you. i suppose it had to do with the fear of not knowing how to love you properly, or fearing mom’s reaction, or not being enough for you. i don’t know, but i owe you an apology for leaving you behind”.
your hands tentatively reach his face in the dark, and you press your lips against his. it’s a delicate kiss, a vessel of all the unsaid words, a taste of apologies and forgiveness.
“sweet dreams, kei”, you have forgiven him long ago.
tsukishima kei has always been enough.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
the sky is gray, rain is pouring down fiercely by the end of your shift. it has been a long day at work, and the weather just worsens your gloomy mood. you step out of the building, cursing yourself for trusting the forecast and abandoning your umbrella at home.
“isn’t that your ex?”, a coworker nudges you, and speaks not so discreetly.
“he’s my boyfriend. if you will excuse me”, you draw a polite smile, leave him speechless, and make your way towards kei. even in his work suit, he looks handsome.
“miss girlfriend, do you need a ride home?”, his smug smile indicates he has overheard your exchange with that colleague.
“you could have waited inside”, he ignores your mutter, taking the pilot seat, “it’s not like i don’t recognise your car”.
kei is used to your fits on bad days, and lets you act bratty. you complain about snobby clients, a lost case, the wall color of the company’s newest meeting room. he frees one hand to take yours, sight still focused on the road ahead.
sorry, you murmur. don’t worry about it, his grasp is comforting.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
“you have changed”, akiteru makes a casual comment, standing beside his brother on the porch. the youngest sibling and you are here to visit and help ‘teru with baby-sitting his firstborn while his wife is on vacation to her hometown.
“how bad is it?”, kei shows a lopsided smile. the irony of akiteru pointing out his transformation when he isn’t one who suddenly announced fatherhood. but to be fair, you guys should have expected so from a married man.
“it’s not bad. haven’t you noticed how you seem to radiate joy?”, ‘teru is quick to explain in detail at the other’s astonished expression, “i used to like how you were because you are my brother, but now you have really grown into someone i’m proud of. facing your feelings and tying loose up ends with y/n shows how much you have matured over time. i must admit you are not a child anymore”.
“thank you, ‘teru”, he fails to hold back a pleased smile, turns around to conceal it and checks up on you.
akiteru excuses himself to go inside and make dinner, leaving you guys alone with the child. kei approaches you. it’s sweet seeing you cradling a baby; he used to be afraid of commitment, but now, after seeing you with his niece, a warm feeling settles in his chest. he even fantasizes about a child of his own, with you.
“isn’t she adorable?”, you hand him the baby, whose tiny arms are reaching for her uncle. kei holds her with utmost gentleness, and nods in agreement. his heart melts a little when the little one nuzzles against the crook of his neck.
eighteen year old tsukishima kei thought commitment and happy ever afters were scary. now, twenty eight year old tsukishima kei thinks a family doesn’t sound so bad.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
love, as many things in this life, is a double-edged sword. you put the handle in his hands, and trust him to not aim the blade at your heart. your heart in his hands, and his, in yours. it’s a game, a bet of who is going to succumb first. who is going to betray who. you bet he is going to stay, and he knows you will too.
love also is butterflies in one’s stomach, what literature has been teaching you since a tender age. you have thought about how unfair it is to describe such a pure and long-lasting feeling with an ephemeral life. butterflies have their beauty, but they are short moments in time, and you don’t want your love to be that. you want a love that lasts.
love should not be too complicated, follow your heart, ma once said. back then, you weren’t quite sure of what she meant. you think you might be understanding now — you no longer feel butterflies wreaking havoc in your stomach, but you don’t love kei any less, and might even love him more than before. butterflies in one’s stomach is a myth, a warning of instability. true love is calmness, the assurance of having your beloved close. you don’t have to worry about falling into the traps of scheming, and just go along with what is to come. loving is easy.
love is a spark in your eyes, a smile on your face, a heartbeat. it’s when kei is around and, almost unconsciously, you feel happier. it’s when his sole presence makes you feel alive. love is hazel eyes, blond hair, and a grumpy pout. love, your love, is tsukishima kei.
↶*ೃ✧˚. ❃ ↷ ˊ-
kei keeps a paper with vows — he will not let you know about this until the day you guys decide to get married. you also don’t know about the engagement ring hidden in his pocket tonight.
“you have told me how pretty my eyes looked on our first meeting, but i have always wanted to tell you i prefer yours over mine — sunset looked more magical than ever in your eyes that evening.
(thank you, mom, for bringing us together and for looking after her when i was not there).
i have made mistakes, and i never expected you would let me come back. but you did. thank you for all the chances. i'm not the best at wording my feelings, but i have to tell you how much i love you.
when you told me ‘let’s fall in love , all over again’, i knew you would be the first and the last, the only right one. i would not want to commit to any romantic relationship if it’s not with you.
sharing morning coffees, waiting for you on rainy days and having your coworkers envy our relationship, watching how you take care of ‘teru’s baby, spending lazy weekends in bed.
the most mundane things have become better in your company. i guess this is how i knew i fell in love, again”.
note; ellow, thank you for reading! tsukki might be a bit ooc, apologies fot that, but i actually enjoyed working on this fic. he is just a baby who doesn't know how to word his feelings, but tries his best (especially for the vows). i don't have much to say, just happy valentine's, lovelies! <3

Idk if you already made this but Hanako, Kou and mitsuba jealous Hcs with their girlfriend that is quite popular among the students pls? thank u!!
hanako x f!reader, kou minamoto x f!reader, mitsuba sousuke x f!reader
a/n: sure thing!! No worries, I haven’t made it yet :D you’re so very welcome, and thank you so much for requesting!! I love jealousy headcanons tho I don’t think I’ve ever written them? I hope these turn out alright, and I’m so sorry for the time this took!
warnings: jealousy?
word count: 1,936
Hanako <3
Oh boy- can I do anything but wish you luck?
Hanako is already a fairly clingy and jealous guy, that’s practically canon. He’ll stand between you when you’re talking to anyone, and I mean aaaaanyone. He just can’t risk losing you!
(It’s got a whole lot to do with his insecurities, of course- while he wouldn’t admit it, not wanting to drop his “ah? I’m just an innocent little boy, free of issues and perverted thoughts <3” attitude, he does struggle a lot. He’s a ghost, a murderer, and imperfect in more ways than those. You’re popular for a reason. You’re so pretty, so kind, so lovable- you’re alive, and probably have morals. What are you doing with a dead murderer?)
Wow, ANYWAY- we’re here for jealousy, not Hanako’s issues, though they will probably resurface shortly.
Seeing everyone around you… always wanting your attention, always complimenting you…
You deserved it! He thought all of those positive things and more-! But… at this point, so many people admiring you, why were you still with him?
Even if you explain to him constantly that you love him dearly, and wouldn’t leave him for anyone else, he still gets somewhat possessive. Eventually putting the “but why does (Y/N) still love me,,” aside, he just wants others to keep their hands off you :((
It’s no fault of yours, and he acknowledges that! But it’s the fault of others getting so close to you >:((
Though they can’t see him, when people go up to you, talking joyfully- he’s standing there, arms wrapped around you, head on your shoulder as he glares daggers into their souls.
BRO IF SOMEONE FLIRTS WITH YOU OR TOUCHES YOU??
You’ve never seen him super angry, much less murderous. He doesn’t want you to see him that angry normally- but holy moley is he about ready to beat someone.
Yet, he’s still just a ghost- plus if he did something Teru would exorcise him, booooo. So, he settles for continuing to glare, standing between the two of you, hitting their arm if it’s resting on your shoulder. Once again, they’re completely unaware of it, but you aren’t!
“Hanako, you know I won’t leave you for them. They’re a classmate, I barely know them, really.”
“But they want to know you. And I don’t want them to know you… they’re gonna try and take you from me, (Y/N)!”
“I won’t let them take me, you big dummy. So, if you could please let go of me so I can get back to class?”
“No :((“
Not only does he cling to you, of course- though he hugs you bunches and squishes your face just because you’re cute- you can also expect a lot of kisses. Ranging from quick “hey, I’m here, and please don’t choose someone else over me”, “hey, my kisses are better than theirs!! Here’s proof!”, “you’re my girlfriend, not theirs, and if they keep treating you like you aren’t taking I’m going to stabby stabby (but I can’t stab cos Teru’s here, but I would if it wasn’t upsetting)”, etc, etc. It’s… almost strange how easy it is to understand what he means from the way he kisses you- but, I digress!
Overall, he gets jealous fairly easily, and gets very clingy when jealous. He’s not amazing with words, so he wants to show you that he loves you with actions!! However, those actions, more often than not, end up just being… clinging to you, and glaring at people who try to get too close to you.
(RIP Akane, Kou, and Nene for bearing witness to you walking around the school with a visibly angry Hanako. Though the worst the others get is the feeling that someone is staring at them, they get to witness his jealousy from off to the side.)
Kou Minamoto <3
He’s nearly completely opposite from Hanako, actually! He doesn’t get jealous very often, trusting you to actually tell him if something were wrong in the relationship. And, when he does get jealous, he does his best to not show it.
He’s not fond of being jealous. It makes him feel like he’s betraying you…? Like him being jealous is the same as him saying that he doesn’t trust you. But, similarly to Hanako, he trusts you. He just doesn’t trust others quite as much. Not with his very cute and very pretty and very sweet girlfriend :((
While it takes a lot to get him jealous, two things that really can make his temper cut short are (similarly to Hanako) when someone outright flirts or touches you. Especially if they touch you and the two of you aren’t at least friends-
If someone flirts, he’s going to casually slip into the conversation, if he wasn’t there already. A quick “hey, (Y/N)! Wait, sorry, I didn’t realize you were talking-“, then he’ll stand next to you, grabbing your hand lightly. One thing about Kou is, he does his best to be gentle all the time! Even when he’s jealous, he’d never ever hurt you intentionally-!!
If someone’s touching you, he’ll hop into the conversation as he does when someone flirts, adding a “I need your help with something, when you can.” This time, or any time really, if you’re uncomfortable you can use it as an excuse to get away!! Kou’s got your back!!!
If it’s been a day where people just constantly seem to be needing your attention, he’ll start to let his jealousy get to him a bit. It’s not even that some people like your attention- heck, he gets it! He likes having your attention as well. It’s more that… they constantly need your attention. Someone always needing something, even when he just wanted to have a conversation with you :((
In that case, he’ll be slightly clingy, and slightly pouty. Almost like a young child. His lips will be pouted slightly, eyes looking a bit lower to the ground than usual. His hand will be secured in yours, and your shoulder will be lightly pressed against his.
“Kouuu, tell me what’s wrong~,” You spoke, poking his cheek with your index finger. When he was like this, it was easy to tell he was embarrassed about whatever he was pouting over, and not upset over something too serious. It was the perfect time to mess with him.
His face would flush as it usually did- and he’d look away, pouting a bit harder as his eyebrows furrowed slightly. “It’s nothing, (Y/N), really.”
“You’re pouting. Come on, now, you really can tell me. I promise I won’t think of you any less!”
“…it’s just… well- well, seeing all those people around you all day, and I couldn’t really… even get to talk to you. You even had to leave early during lunch-! I’m not angry or anything- it’s dumb, it’s dumb, really-“
“Awwwwh, Kou! Don’t be jealous, sweetheart! It’s not dumb, I actually find it sweet. You know I’d choose you over any of those people. I’d much rather spend time with you than them, but it’s not exactly easy to say no… but, if it makes you feel bad, I’ll make sure they know that, at least, lunch is off-limits.”
“Y-you don’t have to, but… that’s up to you.” (AKA “I want you to, but I don’t want you to feel obligated to do something just for my sake.”)
Overall! Kou’s going to be a sweetheart, even when (not very often) jealous. He doesn’t want you to think he’s silly or not trusting of you when he does get jealous- so he does his best to hide it? Still, he fails, since he can’t help but want to be at least a little closer to you!! Plus the way he pouts- he’s easily read in most situations, and that type is no different.
Mitsuba Sousuke <3
Ahh, where to begin… I suppose the same way I’ve been beginning the other two-
Mitsuba is… a complicated jealous boy? He gets jealous rather easily- and… doesn’t admit it, but makes it painfully obvious. He thinks he isn’t being obvious, but it’s practically plain as daylight.
As he does all things, he masks his jealousy in insults at first! Making his way into whatever conversation or interaction your having, offering an ‘uninterested’ “what’re you doing?” After that, he criticizes every little thing the other person does- his levels of mercy depending on how much the person deserves it.
A quick question? Minimum amount of insults. Maybe one, two if they drag it out.
Just having a normal conversation? More than a short question, but not an excessive amount. If they drag it out too long, the insults go up.
Flirting? Lays the insults on THICK. Plus, after a moment, an annoyed and rather cocky sounding: “why haven’t you gotten lost already? Can’t you see I’m (Y/N)’s boyfriend? You idiot. Moron. Pervert. Who talks to a taken girl like that??”
Touches you? Doesn’t even happen. They reach for you, and he’s smacking their hand away. “Idiot. What right do you have to touch my girlfriend?? That’s invasive. Gross. You’re so weird, trying to put your sticky little hands on her.”
But! If it’s a situation he can’t interfere with, be it because he’s dead and the other person’s alive, or in which the people needing your attention goes on for too long- he enters Sulky Mitsuba Mode.
Don’t get me wrong, Sulky Mitsuba is still full of insults, just… sad. In those times, as a ghost, he can’t help but wonder if you’re content in the relationship. Look at you… popular with other students- other students who could leave the school, buy you things, and such. He was a cute ghost, but he was a ghost. He wasn’t even really Mitsuba- he wasn’t the classmate you once knew. How hard was it for you? Yet, you gave it your best to get to know him again-
Luckily, Mitsuba has the ability to tell himself “if (Y/N) did that much for me, she must at least care.” However, it won’t get rid of all his doubts- and he’ll still sulk once you finally catch up with him.
“Hey, Mitsuba! Sorry, I’ve been busy!”
“Mh? Have you? I’ve barely even noticed you were gone.”
Terrible acting skills, Mitsuba. He looks annoyed, his voice sounds uninterested, but… it’s still somehow easy to see through his little act. He’s jealous, and you’re bound to be aware of it.
Take a seat next to him, and he’ll scoot away. Be patient- when he’s jealous, it’s like approaching a stray cat. No sudden movements or you’ll scare him away!
“I’m sorry, Mitsuba. I know I’ve been caught up today, and I’m really sad that I haven’t seen you much until now. Did you have anything you wanted to do? I’m all yours now!”
“Tch, whatever. I don’t have anything I want to do, so just leave it be.”
Ah… do I even have to mention that he’s stubborn. Apologize a bit, he’ll dismissively forgive you, and go from there. Lighthearted conversation, asking him about his day, talking about yours- slowly move closer to him, and! Next thing you know, his heads on your shoulder as he rants about something that happened.
Overall, Mitsuba does get jealous rather easily! He’s stubborn as always, partnered with his insults constantly ready to be fired- it’s interesting when he gets jealous. He never outright admits that he trusts you, and doesn’t consider much more than “I’m feeling a bit jealous since this person keeps taking (Y/N)’s attention, but he’d never put the blame on you. Just… like I said, be patient, and don’t get too offended.

Long rant about Soudam under the cut. 😓 I don’t want to upset anyone, but I just don’t understand.
God I still can’t stand Soudam it’s so fucking uncomfortable to the point I want to shake you violently while asking why you ship it cuz in my experience no one can come up with a good reason why they ship most rivals at all besides
“Hehe they fight a lot so they must want to fuck”
Like it’s just because they have interaction and it apparently doesn’t matter if all of it only amounts to the fact that they may never be good friends let alone lovers!!
And if your response to that is “it’s not that deep ppl can ship for funny reasons” or something like it I understand that but I am an autist and I must have a logical reason behind everything or I might fall apart. I’ll never ship in a crack way. I want my fav characters to be happy and loved!
So since I feel so many things about Kaz (including kinnie feels) I can’t help but think that he’d be better off with literally any other character he’s usually put with. Fuyu, Hajime, Neko, Ibuki, Mahiru, Nagito, Teru, even Leon or Chihiro-
While they might not have as much interaction at least like every other character (besides Sonia) has either some sort of positive or even neutral interaction with Kaz or just a valid reason to believe that they might just get along if they did talk more. Taking things like UTDP and S into account, that is. Looking at his S event with Nagito, for example, showing that Kaz might be willing to try with him, even though it’s difficult. I said it in another rant post about this but that’s really not the case with Gundham. I reiterate that there’s not a single event or convo in which they’re nice to each other. I will always believe that they just don’t understand each other, and even if they did eventually come to an understanding-
They’d only be friends, and it would take effort to keep it that way.
#fuck I just hate it#but the last thing I want is to make someone who likes it sad#like don’t get me wrong rivals to lovers can work#but ONLY when they actually have some reason to believe that don’t really hate each other#Kaz and Gundham genuinely do hate each other#it would not be a good relationship and if think otherwise message me and convince me#really tell me why!! I don’t get it#sorry not sorry#danganronpa#sdr2#never tagging that ship I’ll die first#plus I’m not just gonna send my mean rant to people who find comfort in it somehow

Genre: Fluff

☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
You waited at the roof for Kou. You reminisced about the time, feeling your power surge through you for a second due to the sun setting.
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
[Flashback]
You were walking down the hallway, humming a tune from a song while you watched the students go to their classroom, and mingle with their peers. You wore a uniform close to what the students use. It had some minor and major differences but if people could see you, they would think you're one of the students at Kamome Gakuen. And so someone did.
You felt someone from behind tap on your shoulder. “Uh, Excuse me?” A male voice said. Surprised, you turned to the boy and stepped back in shock. “Ah.. Sorry for scaring you. I’m just new here and I’m lost. I’m supposed to be with my big brother today to help me around the school but he was busy with paperwork. Can you tell me where the student council office is?” He said, scratching his neck.
After a while of silence, He spoke up once more. “Ah! Of course! I’m Minamoto Kou! Nice to meet you.” Kou held out a hand for you to shake. The people around you looked at him weirdly. They couldn’t see you after all. You finally responded and pointed to yourself. "Me?" He nodded. You shook his hand, and began to get more surprised. “Minamoto..? Sounds familiar. May I know the name of your brother?” You asked, feeling a surge of happiness and relief go through you.
“It’s Minamoto Teru. He's the school council president. I’m sure you know him right?” He said proudly, grinning at you. You let out a small ‘oh’ as you stiffened at the name Minamoto Teru; An exorcist. ‘If Teru is his big brother, he might be an exorcist too..’ You noted. “I don’t know where your brother is but he might be-” You told him the directions to the student council room.
Kou nodded. “Thanks but can you lead me there instead?” He gave you a sheepish smile. You hesitantly nodded, not wanting your head sliced off by him. You shuddered as you remembered that you almost got killed by Teru alone. Your powers were strong that time yet you still couldn’t defeat him.
As you and Kou walked beside each other to the student council, he tried to make a conversation, ignoring the weird looks the student gave. “So, I didn’t catch your name earlier..”
“It’s Y/n.”
You gave him short answers, wanting this to get over with. Even with Kou talking to you, he showed no signs of trying to eliminate you. But that doesn’t mean you could trust him that fast. ‘Does he even know that I’m dead?’ You asked yourself. You shook your head, not wanting to know his answer.
“Are you alright?” He gave you a worried look. “You seem troubled.” You shook your head, telling him you’re alright. Kou glanced at you then at the floor, slightly frowning. You felt a pang on your chest. ‘Damnit..’ You sighed before trying to make a conversation.
“So.. Do you have a pet?”
---
You and Kou were right in front of the student council room. “Here it is. Your brother must be here.” You acknowledged. He nodded. “Thank you for taking me here. Sorry if I wasted your time or something.”
“It’s nothing, Minamoto-kun. Happy to help.” You told him with a small smile. He returned the smile and you waved, slowly walking away. “See you later, Minamoto.” Kou bid goodbye before. You turned away from Kou as you walked away, with a small smirk “This day got interesting.”.
Kou watched as you walked away. His gaze was interrupted when a student caught his attention.
“Excuse me. But, who were you talking to?”
Kou gave the student a confused look. “What do you mean? I was walking with someone earlier. Didn’t you see them?”
The student shook their head. “No one was there when you arrived here.” They said as they walked away.
[End of flashback]
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
A few days after you and Kou became friends, he learned that you were actually a supernatural and about your past life.
It wasn’t much but you were happy at least someone other than supernaturals could see and interact with you. You sighed dreamily, looking at the view and watched people as they left the school. You heard the door open and immediately, your eyes darted to the door to see Kou.
“Sorry I was late! I couldn’t find something for a while.” He panted, slumping to the floor. You sat beside him and patted his back in reassurance. “Don’t worry. Whatever it was, I’m sure you’ll find it.” You told him. Kou looked at you before chuckling.
“I already found it. I’m just tired.” He said with a cheeky smile. You stiffened before your face slowly turned red, feeling your cheeks burn. You looked away, feeling embarrassed. Kou stared at you for a few seconds before taking a small box out of his pocket.
“Here.” He passed you the small box. You slowly took it from him. Your hand brushing his. Ignoring the feeling for a second, you opened the box to see a necklace. “I bought it for you cause I think it’d be great..” He admitted, a small blush noticeable on his face. Then he grinned “I have one here too see? So we would match!” Kou showed the necklace hidden under his clothes.
Your heart fluttered as you gave him a love-struck smile. “Thank you, Kou. I love it! Can you help me wear it?” Kou nodded then took the necklace from the box and carefully wrapped it around you, making sure not to hurt you and get it tangled. While he was wrapping it around you, you were sure you could feel his breathing from the back of your neck.
Once he was done, he backed away and looked at you. “There! All done.” You gave him an apologetic look “I didn’t know that we were supposed to give each other gifts. I could’ve given you something..” You mumbled guiltily, looking down. Kou shook your worries away and informed you that he wanted to give you the gift and that he doesn’t need anything because you’re with him.
Still, you insisted on at least giving him something in return in the future. Then, you decided that you and Kou should bake instead. “What should we bake then?” He asked you, glancing at the sky. “But I have to go soon.. I can’t get Teru-nii and Tiara worried.” Kou frowned as he remembered that he needed to go home sooner or later.
“Can we bake at your home then? I’ll try to hide when your siblings comes to the kitchen.” You said, wanting to hang out with him longer. He looked at you and sighed, not knowing what to do. “But you’ll get weak. It’s almost evening.”
You waved him off. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine.” You stood up and lent him a hand “Let’s go. We don’t want your ‘Teru-nii’ to be worried, hm?” You joked, mimicking the way he said his brother’s name. He gladly took your hand and laughed, lightly punching your arm.
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
You were supposed to help Kou with cooking but couldn’t due to his older brother offering to help him, so you’re stuck hiding in one of the cabinets (the cabinet door is slightly open so you could see.). “Teru-nii, It’s alright. I don’t need help! You can just play with Tiara while I cook.” Kou insisted, a bead of sweat visible on his face.
“Come on! You’ve been working so hard. I just want to help you cook for the night.” Teru cheered, smiling at his brother. “I sense something here too. Are you hiding something Kou?” Kou chuckled nervously and shook his head, trying to act innocent. Teru seemed to catch the act yet ignored it.
Teru was going to open the cabinet you're in and Kou immediately closed the cabinet, making you flinch. You immediately left the cabinet and hid behind the table undetected. “You’ve been working more than I do. You should take a rest. I’ll handle it, no worries.” He said, genuinely caring for his brother. You smiled at the scene.
Teru pouted but finally obliged, going into the living room where Tiara was. Once Kou was sure Teru was gone, he immediately opened the cabinet, to see nothing but food there. Worried, he frantically looked around to see you standing beside the table. “I told you this was a bad idea! You almost got caught.” He whispered to you, holding your shoulders. “I’m alright, don't worry.” You reassured him, trying to calm you and him down.
“Oh and Kou?”
“Yeah?”
“The food’s burning.”
☽✧ ✦ ✧☾
The food Kou made burnt but Kou made a new one, you using your powers to cook the food faster. Kou didn’t like it at first, you were getting weak every second and yet you’d do this. You told him that it’s fine, as long as he and his siblings get to eat. And that you can eat some of it too.
After quietly roaming around the house, and almost getting caught 4 times. You went to Kou’s room and lied on his bed. You sighed, finally feeling the fatigue. You’ve been ignoring it for a while that you didn’t notice it was this late.
Kou went to his room and saw you on the bed. He slowly walked over to you and sat on the floor and poked your cheek. “Are you asleep?” He asked quietly, not to wake you up, but enough for you to hear when awake. You grumbled and nodded, facing him.
You both seem to be in a trance and stared at each other. You were the first one to look away, a pink blush dusting on your cheeks. “Is it time for me to go now?” You asked, sitting up on the bed. “You could stay here for the night. I’m sure Teru-nii wouldn’t find out.” The way he just said that made you blush more.
You coughed, trying to calm your red face. Then smiled. “If that’s alright.” Kou’s eyes glistened and he smiled. “That’s great! I’ll just tuck in Tiara for now, you’ll wait here. I’ll grab you a mattress, pillows, and a blanket.” He said before running off.
‘Does he know that I don’t really need those?’ You thought. Chuckling, you shook your head. ‘Nevermind. At least it’ll be comfortable. He cares about me.’.
“He’s such a sweetheart.” You lovingly smiled as you caressed the necklace around your neck.

E/n: This was something... Improvisation. I kinda didn't know much on what to do but I hope this was to your liking! Have a good day/night.

New Year! Red and White Kakushigei Tournament! Event Translation Ch5-8
Urgh, I wanted to do this earlier, but I had to go for a medical checkup earlier this week and the people there messed up my queue number. I ended up waiting the whole day just for them to say they only open half day...
But whatever, I’m back, the next few chapters are here, enjoy~ The rest should be up in a few days too, I hope that I can clear this event before Christmas~
New Year! Kakushigei Tournament Ch1-4 / / Ch5-8 / / Ch9-Epilogue
Disclaimer:
A3! is owned by Liber’s Entertainment

Juza:
The snow bunny is done.
Priest:
Ah, thank you so much.
Yup, they’re not that consistent…
Well, that doesn’t really matter, this is good.
Banri:
Anyway, why the snow bunny.
Priest:
There’s a legend for it.
Hisoka:
Legend?
Priest:
Once upon a time, snow fell on a certain village, to pray for good weather, the villagers made a statue of a bunny made of snow. But the snow statue is fragile, and the villagers accidentally broke it one day.
Following that, heavy snow fell, the villagers have to suffer through the extreme weather.
It is said that in the end, the villagers danced endlessly to wish for the heavy snow to stop… It’s that kind of legend.
Azuma:
Hmm…
Chikage:
A legend from the past huh.
Priest:
The dance that everyone will be performing this time is also a tradition of the past… Please do your best to show its value.
Tsuzuru:
Ugh… What pressure.
Tenma:
Hmm. I’m going to do them perfectly, the performance and the dance too.
<Shifts to Stage>
Priest:
Be graceful with your fingertips, feel the flow! 1,2,3…!
You over there, I told you to look more courteous right!

Juza:
Yes…!
Hisoka:
The spartan style doesn’t change…
Priest:
Express your prayer! The hand should be like this!
Move forward over here and turn around. Match the time with the movement properly!
Tenma:
Alright, understood.
Azuma:
Like this.
Banri:
Should be like this, let me try it one more time.
Priest:
Hmm… Most of you are experienced from the moon-viewing party…
Those who participated for the first time, you’re also doing quite well.
I don’t see much hardship here, that’s too bad.
Tsuzuru:
Why would you want us to be full of hardship in the first place…
<Shifts to Shrine>
Chikage:
Good work for the practice.
Azuma:
That was quite tiring.
Banri:
Well, we ended up practicing for quite long.
Kid A:
There!
Kid B:
Woah! I won’t let you get away!
Take this!
Kid C:
Hahaha!
Tenma:
A snowball fight huh…
Juza:
They’re so energetic.
Kid A:
Over here-!
Kid B:
Wait wait!
Kid C:
Take that!
Children:
Ah!!
Kid A:
The snow bunny-!
Kid B:
They’re broken…
Kid:
What should we do…
Banri:
Ah… Those are the one we made, don’t mind it.
Kid C:
We’re sorry…
Tsuzuru:
Everyone properly apologized. It’s alright.
It’s getting dark soon though, everyone should make your way back soon.
Children:
Yes.
Tenma:
…
Hisoka:
Tenma, what happened.
Tenma:
Nothing, I just remember about the legend that the priest told us earlier.
Juza:
Ah… The one about the heavy snow.
Banri:
It’s just a legend isn’t it, it will be fine if we just remake it.
Chikage:
That’s exactly the flag.
Juza:
… I’m hungry.
Tenma:
Right.
Azuma:
Since we’re already outside, why don’t we go get dinner together to celebrate the kick-off of this dance team.
Banri:
Oh, nice idea.
Azuma:
Fufu, it’s fine to do this kind of thing once in a while right.
<End of Chapter 5>

Chikage:
Then, where should we eat?
Tsuzuru:
The practice was tough, I’m pretty hungry.
Juza:
How about Chinese food.
Banri:
Nah, sushi is better isn’t it.
Juza:
Huh?
Banri:
You want to fight?
Tsuzuru:
No, don’t start fighting here!
Azuma:
If it’s sushi, I know a good place near here.
Tenma:
Azuma-san’s recommendation huh.
Juza:
Sounds like an expensive one…
Azuma:
It’s alright, I won’t let you guys spend on it.
Right, Chikage.
Chikage:
… Well, I guess so.
Hisoka:
… Thank you.
Chikage:
What are you saying.
You’re also a working adult, don’t be spoiled.
Hisoka:
… Stingy.
Azuma:
Juza’s fine with it right?
There are delicious Japanese sweets there too.
Juza:
… Yeah.
<Shifts to Sushi Restaurant>
Banri:
Oh, it feels like a great place.

Tsuzuru:
It looks more luxurious than I thought…
I wonder how much it will cost.
Azuma:
Alright then, what should we eat.
Banri:
Speaking of which, we haven’t called about dinner today.
Tenma:
Then, I’ll go ahead and LIME Director.
Oh, a reply.
She said that she wants us to go shopping on the way back.
Juza:
Shopping for?
Tenma:
It seems to be the tools for the cleaning day. I got the list.
Banri:
Ah, it’s going to be that time of the year huh.
Tsuzuru:
Will the storage room finally be cleaned…
Chikage:
After the cleaning day, shrine event, and the new year party, everyone will be going home for the holiday right.
Azuma:
You’re right.
Banri:
Speaking of which, how does the dorm feel like on New Year’s Eve?
Hisoka:
… It’s peaceful.
Azuma:
We watched the new year show, arranged the new year soba made by Omi and eat together.
Tenma:
There were times when we got too excited watching the variety show and it ended up becoming a no-laugh competition.
Banri:
Hmm…
Juza:
I see.
Chikage:
It’s unusual for you to want to listen to such story, Banri.
Banri:
Nah, actually, I’m not going home this year.
Tsuzuru:
Eh, is it that you can’t go home?
Banri:
My family suddenly told me that they are going on a trip to Hawaii.
I refused to go because I have practice for my university’s performance right after new year.
I go home every year during new year, I just never thought that I won’t go home this year.
Azuma:
I see… I guess it’s unavoidable if you already have plan beforehand…
Hisoka:
… Are you sure you’re alright with it?
Banri:
Well, once in a while I can celebrate new year in the dorm too right.
Chikage:
…
<End of Chapter 6>

Priest:
…Hmm, it’s good.
Everyone, you did well enduring the rigorous practice.
The dance came out perfect too.
Banri:
Alright.
Juza:
Thank you.
Chikage:
Thanks to you, Mr Priest.
Priest:
What’s left is the weather of the event day, but I’m quite worried.
Tsuzuru:
During this time, the snow has accumulated slowly.
Banri:
Well, it will work out somehow.
Azuma:
When we’re back in the dorm, let’s make some teru-teru bouzu.
Tsuzuru:
You’re right.
Hisoka:
Yeah.
<Short Time Skip>
Tenma:
Good work for practice today.
Hisoka:
Good work.
Azuma:
Eh? Where’s Chikage?
Juza:
I thought he was here earlier…
Azuma:
It’s Chikage, maybe he has something urgent.
Tsuzuru:
What should we do, should we go back first then?
Banri:
I’m going to look around for a bit. You guys can go back first.
Tenma:
Understood.
<Shifts to Shrine>
Banri:
This shrine is quite big…
Chikage:
…
Banri:
Oh, found you.
So you were here.
Chikage:
Ah, Banri.
I was asked by Misumi to take pictures of Mr rabbit so I came here, but…
Banri:
… Eh, it’s empty.
Chikage:
It seems like he ran away.
Banri:
… Seriously.
Chikage:
Well, we’re talking about that rabbit, I think he’ll be back before anyone realized.
But Misumi asked me to take some pictures, I can’t just leave him alone too, so I’m going to look for him now.
Banri:
Then, I’ll tag along with you.
Chikage:
Thank you, that will help.
<Shifts to Forest>
Banri:
… Can we even find him in this kind of place?

Chikage:
We searched for that run-away rabbit in this forest before.
I thought he would generally go to the same place—
!
Banri:
Woah, it’s pretty quick on its feet.
Chikage:
Right.
Banri:
I’m going to catch him.
Then, I’m going from this way.
Chikage:
Yeah, I’ll leave it to you. I’m going to the other side.
Banri:
It’s that bush huh…
Chikage:
Banri is over there.
That means, from here…
Banri:
Oh, it’s a signal from Chikage-san.
I see, understood.
Turn around, and come here…
Rabbit:
…!
Banri:
Alright!
Caught it.
Chikage:
We managed to capture it nicely.
Banri:
It’s just like the usual interaction for an ‘escape game’ isn’t it.
Chikage:
You’re right.
Ah, what a good timing, let’s take a picture of Banri holding the rabbit.
Banri:
Huh? Well, it’s not that I mind…
Chikage:
I’m sure Misumi will be happy too.
<End of Chapter 7>

Banri:
The rabbit has been returned to the shrine safely, mission complete.
Chikage:
Returning him is one thing, but if he keeps running away even the shrine will be fed up with it.
Banri:
But, for Misumi’s sake aside, it was honestly surprising for Chikage-san who is not good with animal to go that far.
Chikage:
… That rabbit was separated from his siblings suddenly and it seems that he’s still looking for them to this day.
The priest knew about the situation and he said that he would cooperate and search for his siblings too, but it seems that he’s been too busy for it.
Banri:
Hmm… I see.
Chikage:
Because of that, I guess I feel a bit of sympathy for him.
Banri:
… Chikage-san, did something similar happen to you before.
Chikage:
About that, I’ll leave it to your imagination.
Banri too, you were talking about not going home this year…
Next year’s new year, it’s not certain that you will be able to spend it with your family like before.
Banri:
… What is it, so suddenly.
Chikage:
It’s just a possible scenario.
Of course, it can also be said for other events in general, like birthday and Christmas, but—
Here, you’re not doing anything in particular, like watching the new year show, eating new year soba.
I don’t mind spending my time like that, Japanese new year feels like a family event more than any other events,
… Well, I only know that after joining the theatre troupe, I can’t say that I’m very knowledgeable about it.
Banri:
…
Chikage:
Like that rabbit, there’s a possibility that you will get separated from your family without any warning.
That’s why, Banri too, I thought it would be better for you to at least show your face at home.
Banri:
…
Chikage:
Did I meddle a bit too much.
Banri:
Nah… It’s fine.
<Time Skip>
Juza:
It’s finally the day.

Director:
Everyone, are you ready?
Hisoka:
Yeah.
Azuma:
We were worried about the snow, but it seems that it won’t fall tonight.
Tsuzuru:
We did some promotion for the event, the number of audiences here seems to be good too.

Hisoka:
It’s pretty crowded.
Chikage:
First up will be the Kakushigei tournament right.
Tenma:
Yeah.
I’ll show you the result of my training.
Director:
Yeah! I’m looking forward to seeing the Kakushigei tournament too.

Banri:
Director-chan, I’m going to surprise you with some amazing tricks.
Of course, the winner will be the red team.

Juza:
I won’t lose to you.
The white team will win.
Banri:
Stop with the bullshit.
There’s no way I’ll lose to the likes of you.
Juza:
Huh? What was that.
Banri:
You want to go.
Tsuzuru:
Calm down, it doesn’t matter who win or lose, it’s a Kakushigei performance!
<Shifts to Stage>
Priest:
Then, please enjoy the Kakushigei performance by members of MANKAI company!
Homare’s Doll:
“La la la, a happy bunny, a refreshing harmony! Behold, let’s have our tea time!”
Hisoka:
It’s just a cheap marshmallow…
Arisu is stingy.
Homare’s Doll:
“Hmm hmm, what did you say! Such a selfish guy!”
Children:
Amazing! The doll is talking!
Male Audience:
Ventriloquism huh!
The voice is totally different, it really sounds like he’s talking to a doll…!
Juza:
…!
Tenma:
Phew! ... There!
Female Audience A:
Cigar box! So cool…!
Female Audience B:
Damn, the boxes look like that they’re attached to each other with a magnet!
Banri:
…
Male Audience:
Is he going to pull that tablecloth?
Female Audience:
Even though there’s a glass tower on top!?
Banri:
…!
Female Audience:
Amazing!! He pulled it so beautifully!
Male Audience:
That was wonderful!
Chikage:
Take a look at this card in my hand.
The folded card is… 1,2,3!
Female Audience A:
Eh!? It turned into a fan in an instant!?
Male Audience:
What!? It was just a normal card a second ago.
Chikage:
And when you look up on this fan…
Female Audience B:
Woah! The colorful confetti pop out of nowhere…!
Children:
It’s so beautiful~! Just like real magic!
Director:
(Both teams are amazing with their Kakushigei! The audiences’ cheers are so loud too)
Citron:
Unyuyuyu…

I have no other choice!
I must go quickly!
Muku:
Eh!
Sakuya:
Citron-san, it’s not your turn yet!
<Short Time Skip>
Director:
That was fun!
I was very impressed by everyone.
Azuma:
Yeah, me too. I got completely absorbed in it.
Tsuzuru:
Everyone practiced so hard before we even realized.
Female Audience A:
Red team or white team… Both are great, I can’t choose.
Female Audience B:
I know, everyone was so interesting!
Male Audience:
Alright, I’ve decided. I’m going with this!
Children:
I’m going to choose this one!
Tenma:
Everyone’s voting now.
Azuma:
Fufu, I wonder who will win… I’m quite excited.
Director:
I’m glad that the audiences are satisfied.
Next will be the dance performance…
<Short Time Skip>
Director:
…Eh?
Hisoka:
… It’s snowing.
Juza:
The snow starts falling.
Tenma:
Actually, isn’t it getting heavier?
Banri:
If it continues, it’s going to be a heavy snow soon.
Chikage:
What a splendid flag retrieval.
Tsuzuru:
This is not the time to say such thing.
Male Audience:
The snow is getting heavier.
I guess it’s time to go home soon.
Female Audience:
I wanted to watch the dance, is it going to be cancelled?
Hisoka:
Everyone’s going home.
Juza:
If it stays this way, it’s going to be cancelled for real.
Director:
(Even though everyone practiced so hard for this, I don’t want it to be cancelled. Beside, I want to be able to meet the priest’s expectation…)
It’s a bit early, but…
Let’s start earlier so everyone can see the dance!
Azuma:
You’re right.
Chikage:
Understood.
Banri:
Alright, let’s go.
<End of Chapter 8>
Translator’s Note: About the flag that Chikage mentioned. I’m sure it’s Itaru’s influence since it refers to a flag as in an otome game flag. I don’t know how to explain it nicely, but the broken snow bunny serves as an indication that heavy snow will fall like the legend (thus the flag), and it did happen during the performance (thus the flag retrieval). Do correct me if I’m wrong though~

Observations about Tsukasa
Tsukasa really is a weird and controversial character and while I get this would happen with his status as a villain regardless of his actual personality, I still feel obligated to point out some things about him that people seem to overlook.
Tsukasa’s backstory is still almost a complete mystery but I would argue his personality is strong enough that one can have a fairly good idea of his character. The thing about Tsukasa is that while a lot about him is unclear, what is clear is that he’s very, very immature and childish.
Disclaimer: I am not an expert in children’s behavior. So, if I make mistakes or inaccurate assumptions, forgive me. And of course because we live in a society, I have to bring up incest as a topic. Bah.
For some of these translations I’d like to credit @just-a-little-hanako-obsessed and @jibakukarasu.
So, let’s review.
Tsukasa, like a lot of children, is often motivated by the fact that he can, so he will.
This in particular vaguely reminds me of Undertale, which has this very notable quote. It’s important to note that while this is directed to the player who can be of any age, the player character is a child.
no matter what, you'll just keep going. not out of any desire for good or evil... but just because you think you can. and because you can... you have to.
I’ve mentioned in a previous post that Tsukasa is someone who defies the idea of order. He, in his own words, believes that people and apparitions should do whatever they want.
What a rebellious child!
Another thing about Tsukasa that shows his childishness is how he’s pretty literal-minded. He doesn’t pick up on implied meaning nor suggestions.
He also shows a very simplistic way of thinking, one void of consideration towards social cues and what is or isn’t socially appropriate.
Honestly, Tsukasa’s relationship with Sakura is pretty...different to the usual as well. Because Sakura is Nene’s foil, you’d think her relationship with Tsukasa would have hints of romantic tension in at least a similar way.
But while Tsukasa is similarly clingy as Hanako is, there’s zero tension in that regard. In fact...
This approach more or less de-sexualizes Tsukasa, diminishing his potential as a lover/partner and instead literally putting him on the level of a domesticated pet, specifically a cat, which...while they can be trained, they’re still notoriously fickle and prone to doing as they please.
Not dissimilar to young children!
Fun fact: cats bond with humans in a way very similar to how babies bond with their guardians! It’s true! Here’s a video on the matter!
Although note that cats are also known for hunting for pleasure rather than necessity. Still not dissimilar to children, tbh, even the more normal ones because it’s not uncommon to be especially dickish to bugs when you’re younger. I know I in particular was prone to kicking over anthills. Like. All the time. I don’t anymore. Ants bite.
More on Tsukasa and...uh...sexuality??? I guess??? We should compare him to his brother in this regard... I... I guess.
Hanako’s definitely a pervert with a thick leg fetish. Like, it’s not up for debate. A lot of comedic relief involves his perverse tendencies.
Let’s compare this to Tsukasa. First of all, as shown before, we already know that his response to this would be along the lines of “can’t you do all that already?” and would not understand why you...shouldn’t. Rather than dwelling on that, let’s look at this scene.
Compared to Hanako, Tsukasa’s interest in sexual things is pretty...pure??? I guess??? While he is curious, he’s not really perverse. Even when admitting to flipping Sakura’s skirt, he does so in a way that screams childish. He doesn’t display the kind of excitement a guy with sexual interests would have, it’s just matter-of-fact and you could easily call it even innocent.
He just wants to know about these things because he’s heard about them and the supposed significance of such gestures, not because he himself has any personal interest in them.
But speaking of Amane... Yeah, this is definitely the most controversial part of Tsukasa’s character. And while I’ve analyzed their relationship before, I’m not...really all for discussing the extent of weird shit going on between them, up to and especially the suggestive overtones because goddamn do I not want to be involved in The Discourse, but uNFORTUNATELY it’s relevant so I’m gonna have to bring it up.
How to do so in the least awkward way...
Okay so, Tsukasa’s fixation on his brother sure is a thing. There’s definitely an intent to make it uncomfortable on some level. Villainous incest is, unfortunately, a popular trope. One that I am not going to analyze here because I don’t want to. BUT, there are other tropes about inappropriate sibling relationships that are also pretty prevalent in Japanese media.
For one thing, the inappropriately attached sibling is often inappropriately attached due to immaturity.
“I want to marry my big brother!” isn’t an uncommon sentiment among “imoutos” and even Hanako-kun has a scene playing into it.
(It’s not scanlated, sorry, but I swear to god the line “I’m gonna marry big bro when I get older” is somewhere in here.)
But yeah while some probably see Tsukasa’s attachment to his brother in a villainous light, I argue that there’s an intent to frame it as childish/immature as well, especially in their later interactions.
Building on the mention that Tsukasa is pretty much lacking in any open sexual interest beyond the purely childish curiosity, I think we are supposed to view Tsukasa’s attachment to Hanako/Amane in a similar manner. That the reason why Tsukasa is so clingy with him is due to immaturity. While it’s still undoubtedly inappropriate, this framing and display of Tsukasa’s attachment as single-minded and immature can be viewed as ultimately innocuous the same way Tiara thinks she’d like to marry Teru in the future. The fact that Tsukasa isn’t possessive (as shown before) also makes me think we aren’t supposed to vilify him for his attachment. It’s really just the rest of Tsukasa’s personality that’s the problem.
Admittedly, the vague relationship history between the twins does make sweeping judgement difficult. So, like, things might change in the future. But this is the vibe I’m getting thus far and I do hope it’s not twisted for shock value later because I don’t think it’d be very good writing, lol.
But yeah, my point is that Tsukasa is really immature and childish. Really, really immature and childish. It comes across in every aspect of his character from his cruelty to his motivations to his attachments. While he’s still a villain, I do think we shouldn’t forget that he’s also...very much a child.
And that maybe this should be heavily considered before jumping to any conclusions.
At least, I think so.
#jibaku shounen hanako kun#tsukasa yugi#yugi tsukasa#jshk spoilers#meta#I guess#Man writing this got unsurprisingly uncomfortable at points#I feel like I also could bring up Tsukasa's appetite because he seems to want to eat everything#Like how I ate grass and crayons as a kid...I guess...#wouldn't be surprised if Tsukasa still does that...#Magi Blah#Honestly there are so many words here and what I'm essentially saying with all of them is#Tsukasa bABEY#yeah#He's super babey

For @kittytheartist-rambles
(Kannagi AU: Part 1 . Part 2 . Part 3)
Akane desperately tried to hold on for any hope that Aoi can still be saved but Teru destroyed any solution he come up with, holding him down when the constant denial makes him hysterical and repeating the message until Akane finally accepted that the pit Aoi was thrown on is the point of no return.
Akane shut down, not drinking the water Teru had given him or moving from his seat on the cave ground. Is like he is a shell of himself.
Teru asks how many times he used the cursed clock and it takes some insistence for Akane to pay enough attention to process his question and admit that he used 15 minutes with Teru and 17 with various monsters on their failed escape, losing 32 years of his life. It’s a marvel such a reckless boy would get so much to live in such a dangerous world, though Teru supposes Aoi’s sacrifice brought safety for everyone, which made Akane's previously long lifespan possible.
Akane feels more grounded after a while and asks why did Teru told the village he was dead? Why couldn’t he lie to save Aoi too? Why only save him? Teru gives him a logical answer, about how her death means years of safety while Akane’s is unnecessary. It feels cold, borderline cruel, compared to Akane’s raw pain so he grows agitated, demanding to know why Teru let him talk with Aoi when it went against the village orders, why Teru played the part of Aoi’s friend if he was going to kill her.
That crack some of Teru’s control, and he baits Akane into a fight, it became a fistfight. Akane hoped doing something would help but he still doesn’t feel better when he lands a punch on Teru, or when he is beaten. What is the point in anything? It won’t bring Aoi back.
Teru notice he isn’t nearly as much of a challenge as usual, and kicks him when he falls, expecting Akane to yell for a rematch but the boy doesn't move from the ground, admitting he has no motivation to fight when he knows Aoi isn't here to bandage him. Teru gets angry at him for giving up, because fighting does help him feel less overwhelmed and Akane was taking that from him, but he ends up falling in silence with Akane again.
They stay alone with their thoughts for a while, and it starts to rain, the heavy rain grow into a storm, and while Teru isn't affected by it, he doesn't trust Akane to take care of himself. Terus no longer needs armor in a world with no supernaturals but he compensates for the loss in weight with many kimono layers (it makes him feel safer), able to spare the outer layer of his clothes to Akane, wrapping it around his shoulder.
Akane is tempted to throw his stupid kimono into the rain, wary of any show of kindness, but shut up when Teru shares the promise he made with Aoi, of looking after him. Teru notices how it get his full attention and tries to use Aoi to make Akane get his shit together, claiming she would want her best friend to live life to the fullest, at least try to find happiness, not waste away. Akane disagrees, claiming Aoi is the type of girl to say “I wish you find happiness.” when she is at her most depressed and spiteful, tired of watching others be happy without her. Teru thinks about the way she tried to drag him with her to the pit of death, how she wasn’t crying when she did it, and feeling unsure if her cold look was because of the drug or because Aoi genuinely wanted him dead after ruining their escape.
Teru never saw her cry for him, but she got misty-eyed when he first beat up Akane, fearing he would die, and when she was dragged out of the cave. Worried for Teru at times, but only in tears for Akane. He feels bitter about it so he tries to hide it by teasing Akane for it, surprised to learn Akane had never seen Aoi cry before their failed escape, not even when the village threw rocks at her.
For a full week, that's how any interaction went, leading to silence or to talking about Aoi. Failing to comunicate what they want or not sure what to do when they catch how the other is feeling.
Teru spend most of his time with his siblings, pushing his grief down, but whenever he reached Akane’s cave with food or blankets, he is always there. Something about Akane still felt strange, not as full of fire and determination as usual, but at least, he started to be more active, telling Teru he discovered a river he can get water while he was with his family instead of wasting away in the cave, and asking for Teru’s help learning what plants are edible and how to hunt certain fishes, always indulging in spars, slowly starting to fight like usual.
“If you move to the next city, i’ll make sure to visit you, you don’t need to stay in this cave” and Akane nods but he still doesn’t leave the cave.
Teru has been good at bottling up his emotions, at dealing with loss, but he was eventually forced to attend to a big party to celebrate Aoi’s death and was forced to use all his self-control to remain silent at everyone’s comments about Aoi, and occasionally even Akane. He had arrived a bit late to his meeting with Akane, and his moves are too reckless when they spar that day, hurting his palm by something stupid. Akane notices something is off, forcing him to sit down, and cleaning his injury. It leaves Teru feeling too much and he hit his breaking point, hiding his tears with his arms. It startled Akane, having been convinced exorcists can't cry. It’s awkward as hell, but Akane hug him, softening when Teru eventually clings to it, not nearly as gentĺe as Aoi, frankly, the way Teru claw his back hurt, but Akane understands.

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT! TUMBLR DELETED MY E N T I R E STORY! HOPE YOU ENJOY!!
XxX
Summer Vacation!
It was wonderful! No studying, or tests, or random pop quizzes. It was just so wonderful!
At least, you thought it was.
Your favorite apparition, on the other hand, thought it was the worse thing in the absolute world.
As you walk into his bathroom, he latches his hands to your cheeks, amber eyes big and glossy, bottom lip jutting out.
"[Y/n]! You're not really leaving for three weeks, right?" He asks, eyes searching your face.
You grasp his hands in your own, prying them away from your face. You hold them, head tilting to the side, his sadness at the thought of your absence warming your heart.
"I don't really have a choice." You say, making him pout more.
"That's not fair! What will you even do for three weeks?"
"Well, definitely not clean bathrooms." You laugh, finding your small jab funny.
Hanako, however, did not.
His deadpan expression causes you to sober up quickly, and squeeze his hands in yours. You take your right hand and place it against his cheek. He leans into it somberly, eyes staring at the ground in a child like tantrum.
"I'm sorry, Hanako.. I would take you with me if i could.."
You both stood there for a moment, Hanako refusing to leave your touch, and you enjoying the cool feel of his skin. Suddenly, his eyes sparkle, excitement rolling off him like waves. He starts to float, hand still in yours as he exclaims, "Wait, wait, wait!" He grabs your right hand as well, "I'm pretty sure i've heard Tsuchigomori talk about being able to leave boundaries before!"
"You have?" You ask, brows furrowing.
The bathroom door opens, and feet shuffle into the restroom.
"You can leave the school?" Yashiro asks, her question announcing her arrival.
"I didn't think that was possible..?" Kou pipes up, also announcing his presence.
At the sound of his voice, you turn towards him, eyes glistening with mischief, "You do know this is the girls bathroom, right?"
Kou's face flares up, an indignant yell escaping his throat, "Of course i know!" He defends, "But this is Hanako-kun's place! So you should be calling him a pervert!"
"I never called you a pervert?" You respond coyly, watching Kou's face turn even more red. He turns away from you, embarrassment written all over his face. Yashiro giggles, patting the embarrassed boy in reassurance.
Ahhh... He was just so fun to mess with sometimes..
Hanako lets go of your hands and floats in between you and Kou, a bit of jealousy spiking in his chest from your friendly interaction. He wraps his arms around your neck, cheek pressed to yours. He stares at the blond, who stares back questioning.
"What?" He asks, a brow rising.
"..Nothing.." The ghost answers, cheek rubbing against yours.
"Oh don't start with that, again!" Kou yells, a fist in the air.
You and Yashiro share a look, and burst into laughter. After a moment, Yashiro claps her hands together, gaining the attention of the two bickering boys. She places her hands on her hips proudly once they look at her and announce, "Alright! Let's go see Tsuchigomori and have the best summer vacation ever!"
XxX
"Yeah, that's not happening." Tsuchigomori says, flipping a page in his current book. He takes a drag of his cigarette, blowing the smoke towards the four of you. "At least, not for three weeks."
"Then how long?" You pipe up, cutting off Hanako's small whine. You loved him, truly, he absolutely had your whole heart.
However, he could be a real brat if you didn't stop him before hand.
"A day, maybe a couple hours." The teacher responds, closing his book with a snap and looking up at you.
Not to be dramatic or anything, but you felt kind of honored.
"A day?-" Hanako whines,
"-Or a couple hours-" Tsuchigomori says quickly,
"-But [N/n]-chan will be gone for weeks..!" Hanako finishes, not caring about the small break in his sentence.
"Why do i feel like we're chopped liver..?" Kou mumbles, Yashiro nodding along with him.
"Because we are.." Yashiro responds, just as deadpan.
"What if i fought you?" Hanako asks, not even blinking at the thought.
Tsuchigomori's eyebrow twitched, but you didn't know if it was out of annoyance.. or fear. "I don't really have a say on it.."
You grasp Hanako's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. He turns towards you, and you give him a small smile, "Maybe we should take it..? We can make it the best day ever! What do you think?"
You could tell he wanted to decline, to fight with Tsuchigomori more to get his way. However, after a few moments of your silent stare off, he agrees.
"Great! Now we all just need to agree on what to-"
"What about the beach?" Yashiro says excitedly, "It's summer! There's ice cream, and we can make sand castles! Oh! And there's-"
"-A chance you'll find prince charming??" You say, smiling teasingly at your best friend.
"Yes, a chance i will find my prince charming." She nods, happily agreeing with your statement.
It makes you snicker.
"What do you think, Hanako? Kou?" You ask, glancing between the two.
"I'm all for it!" Kou cheers, pumping his fist in the air, his staff jingling from the movement.
Hanako places his free hand up to his mouth in thought, mumbling, "It has been a long time since I've seen the ocean.."
"Then it's decided! We meet outside Sunday morning!" You turn to the spider themed ghost, "You do whatever you need to let Hanako have the best day ever!"
The teacher just smirked, and that was all the answer you needed.
XxX
"No, Absolutely not." You whip your head at Kou, arms cross in annoyance, "He was not invited!"
You point your finger at the older Minamoto brother, who only snickers at your angry gesture.
"I'm really sorry, [Y/n]-senpai! He just really wanted to come..!"
"Kou, hun, you precious thing, do you not remember he tried to obliterate Hanako??"
Yashiro whacks your shoulder lightly from her spot behind you, peeking over to look at her weird crush.
Teru smiles down at you, and if you were anyone else, you might've been charmed. But you're not, and you weren't.
It just made you pissy.
"I'm sorry for inviting myself, I just wanted to make sure Hanako-kun didn't bother anyone else." He says cooly.
You narrow your eyes up at him, "He hasn't bothered anyone.."
You hear Yashiro start to pipe up, but in a childish wanting to be right you yell, "NO ONE."
This only causes the tall blond to laugh.
"[N/n]-Chaaan!~"
"Hanako!" You yell happily, turning away from the annoying Minamoto brother. However, when you saw Hanako's beach wear you blink.
It was..
Hanako slams into you, wrapping his arms around your neck. You hug back, laughing at his excitement.
It was a horrendous outfit... But somehow he made it work.
XxX
"Wow...! I forgot how massive the ocean was!" Hanako yells over to you, feet already submerged into the salty body.
You took off your over layers, folding them up neatly and putting it onto your towel. "I know, it's big and sparkly, I really like it!" You respond, matching his energy.
"Yeah, It's like-" Suddenly, he stops. Wondering why his sentence was cut short you turn towards him, but he was facing the ocean.
"Hanako?"
Nothing.
"Hanako-kun??"
Yep, no response.
You huff, placing your hands on your hips, "Amane!"
The only response you got that time was his posture stiffening.
You storm over to him, grabbing his shoulder and turning him to face you. But instead, you got a face full of hat.
So, you try to put your face near his, which results in him turning his face to the right.
So you follow, and he turns left.
Okay..
Nope, now he's looking straight up.
"Amane! Why are you being stubborn!" You scold, trying to look at him.
"You're.." He starts, but his sentence trails off.
"Huh??"
"You're... Not wearing..."
"Not wearing..? Oh! Well i can't wear regular clothes to swim!" You laugh, stepping away from him, "it's my bathing suit! Ne-chan let me borrow it..!"
"You look.. Different." He settles, glancing at you and the ground.
You smile softly at him, grabbing his hand and tugging him back to the water. "C'mon! Let's go absolutely wreck Ne-chan and Kou-kun in a splash fight!"
This perked Hanako right up, and allowed you to drag him towards the two others.
This was probably the best day of his dead life so far.

@mildewsmuses said: TALK TALK TALK
eldest daughter - i had her name as teru when i was like ... giving the other two daughters besides tatsu names bc i couldn’t find any names and was like ‘ oh well the sons start with s so i guess i can keep that for the daughters and just go with t ’ but i’m probably going to change it or am open to other options. good oldest kid and daughter. responsible and calm but is good at entertaining and playing with the younger siblings. unfortunately developed a bit of uta’s self-sacrificing habits so like ....... there’s another one that doesn’t speak what she really feels *goofy laughter*. could be a good successor to the toyotomi - potential successor rating: 8/10
koishi / koishi-dono - troublemaker #1. i only found her name in the last couple of months so ldkajflksd that was a trip. fell ill when she was younger, almost died and has never really recovered from it even after growing up more, so she actually stays bedridden for most of the year. but when she’s actually out and about oh my god. has enough energy to power the sun for the rest of the month.
she’s cheerful, candid and romantic. runs around everywhere when she can to look at this and that. a threat to the finances if you let her be tbh she likes to buy clothes and accessories a lot. does not fear death at all because even when she gets told not to, she will just burst into her father’s room like ‘ hey chichi-ue :D what is up ’ probably uses modern slang that people don’t understand like sakon. a bit spoiled tbh.
she makes friends very easily but i do not recommend making her the successor - potential successor rating: 3/10
shigeie - nobody has ever seen this boy get upset and it confuses literally everyone around him. prefers to just do prayers and like idk sing to the forest animals over actually fighting but he’s good at it and he understands that sometimes you have to do things you don’t like to do in life. honestly has pretty good political instincts and does well with his responsibilities. is the best at interacting with all of his siblings. he’s the most sensitive to how other people and is good at finding solutions for disputes. unfortunately, he doesn’t have the confidence that his oldest sister has so he can limit himself quite a bit - potential successor rating: 7/10
shigenari - troublemaker #2 (but not on purpose). looks like he would kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll ( most of the time ). really just hates when people are over idealistic and emotional and lose sight of rationality. is sibling-bullied by his older siblings and although it irritates him so much, he loves his family a lot and will let it happen because he knows they don’t mean it. if you get koishi and shigenari in the same room, there is always at least a 45% chance of them about to exchange fists right there. he’s a bit moody and prone to slipping into frustration the quickest out of the siblings but he wouldn’t step out of line with it. good across the board in leadership, fighting, politics, governance and personality. bit of a mama’s boy.
like i said before, will fist fight his dad if given the chance. is probably the only kid that snaps back at his dad when he snaps at them. has probably pissed off mitsunari the most. ‘ you have to work hard and not disappoint lord hideyoshi and lord hanbei ‘ ‘ ...... ok. they’re dead. but ok. ‘ potential successor rating: 9/10
tatsu - um. a bit of a yandere tbh and prefers to keep to herself. probably a bit too caught up in getting her father’s attention ( from afar ; she really will just sit in the same room at him and stare until he pays attention to her that is how desperate she is ). is pretty studious with her best subjects being in things like political science and literature. the one that got both mitsunari and uta’s powers and uta probably figured this out is like ‘ NO GOOD SIGNS !!! NONE !!! ’ when tatsu had glowing red eyes one time before bed. is like ... the one that is most willing to go out of the battlefield with her goddamn magical girl staff bc she’s already learned to separate her empathy from herself so she’s like ‘ yeah. yeah i can kill people and i’d be okay ’ too young to be successor tbh so like ... no rating
sakichi - just an angel bc he’s the youngest. just follows uta and tatsu around most of the time bc like. he’s baby. honestly pretty perceptive and wise at a young age. like everyone is chilling at dinner and then he’ll just be like ‘ i saw the flowers starting to fall because autumn is coming. oh, what an exact yet cruel mirror of the short span of one’s life’ and everyone is like ???? what ??? probably wants to become a famous poet tbh. no successor rating bc he is baby like i said.

And we’re back
Part 2 of chapter 9
We jumps forwards into the girls back on Earth and Iko finally waking up... I was gonna say there’s not much to it but she falling sleep gets mentioned and... *takes suspicious notes*
Before they part way Teru goes all up to how bad she is at being a hero and... at least she ends the selfdeprication to declare she will become stronger so Iko will never have to cry for her again :)
MDSH: Tears... promise... Am I the only one thinking Fullmetal Alchemist?
Me: by this point this manga is hitting all the right spots isnt?
Iko gets it! Teru is sensitive AF (nothing wrong with it) and that reflect in her heart AND power, yeah me likes
“Your hero name is SHY, and your face is burning as red as a flame“
That has to be the most silly idea of why SHY is named SHY... its canon until proven otherwise (and even after)
Laughing together :)
So Teru lives on her own... I’m not ready for that truck to hit yet, can we wait?
And we end the chapter with the looming presence of Stigma doing shit on China which is shown on the news, and Teru being determined (while scared) to be the hero that can protect everyone
So very standard last part... lets jump to chapter 10 right away!
Chapter 10: I hate it (Lady Tsundere chapter? mmm... ok)
Teru is buying stuff at a store and as relatable as usual when no one around calling to people is horrible (I usually dont cry but yeah its awkward)
Oh! seems its a place she used to frequently go with Mei-chan... who’s Mei-c--?
NO! NO TRUCKS TO HIT ME TODAY PLEASE!
Simple backstory talk. Chihiro san has had it rough with her back and her husband’s death but she still does what she can to take care of the store, even when not many people show up anymore...
And the reason Teru showed up after like at minimun 4 years? A memory of a mountain and a painting that’s in the store... and Chihiro san remembers she and her late husband climb its peak every year... she as being doing it alone to remember him but her back is at her limit
Oddly comedic break back to prove it I guess xD
“Losing interest in the places I used to be familiar with” okay Teru stop reading my mind!
She wants to help Chihiro san but she doesnt know how, or at least iis thinking of something but she cant heal her so...
So I guess the plot convinience fairy is knocking at the door?
IT IS! Lady Tsundere is here to give Teru a check-up... oh dear... okay lets be open minded and see where this goes
While on check up we get some extra info! Pilse (Black Lady’s real name) is a university student trying to become a nurse? Nice... also that STILL leaves Teru as the youngest hero by a WIDE margin!
Funny how sometimes one doesnt even question the language barrier yet the media always makes sure to explain WHY people from different countries can communicate in japanese in this case I guess (its the bracelets)
Teru has an idea!
Pilse instantly goes on the defensive
... that was a perfectly timed comedic turn page transition... also Pilse is never NOT gonna be Lady Tsundere
Again, moods are EXTREMELY different but all these heroes share having a kind heart :)
Kind MEDDLESOME heart in this case since Pilse upon Chihiro san’s question if she can hike the mountain inmediatly offered herself (and Teru) to accompany her... I’m starting to like Pilse, good job manga.
A stubborn heart is more accurate then, since she hates hiking and the mountains yet she is good at it cause she wanted to prove she could
Also she is an asshole... and yet this is entertaining so she’s alright
Also also I presume emotional energy makes up for her lack of athletisism but Teru might need to shape herself a bit :P
...
DAMN
I did not see that coming... but comes to show how adversity is not easily noticeable until it hits you with (in this case) her prosptetic legs
I’m glad Pilse has a better opinion on Teru for walking up the mountain despite being difficult to her
... she is still Lady Tsundere... but its now in a WAY more fonde tone
I was actually fearing she was gonna be a tsundere of the obnoxious type but instead I get a kind yet harsh person who has lived hardships and life but fought them off and wants everyone to do so as well, despite she knowing not everyone CAN be the same way inmediatly
OH! Trivia in Pilse’s last name (Dunant) coming from the man who co-funded the red cross? NICE!
Overall great chapter! We get to meet Pilse and Teru trough her interactions with her recognizes she has to climb her mountain, yeah it was good
Gonna start the next chapter but unsure If I’ll post it right away, we shall see
youtube
#SHY#liveblog#casual liveblog#chapter 9#chapter 10#this probably is the end of chapter 5 according to Gale's anime mapping of the manga :P#it works perfectly tbh#also now I need said episode to have Celeste like music!

Aubade is a great fic; too bad it’s possibly dead.
Been a while since I did a long long babble on a fic I like, and lately, I’ve been rereading a few fics to fuel my entertainment. I low key notice how rare it is to find a multi-chaptered fic for Ritshou that doesn’t have Terumob as main, which is really funky honestly.
I talked about Aubade once, in my list of incomplete fanfics I missed back in like February. But it’s so good, I’m gonna make a long post about it lmao.
Even though this fic has literally taken the number one ranking in my favorites list, it only took today for me to bookmark it in my ao3 (mostly because I’ve been waiting it for it to be completed before doing so.)
And generally, anything that I bookmark on ao3 is something I’ve cried about at least once, whether it’s because of the story or because I love the story too much. So anyways,
Aubade by Ravenesta is a M rated Ritshou fic centered around Ritsu, who moves in with Shou after Shou declared he was going to stay in Japan for good.
They buy an apartment together near Ritsu’s university and go on a shopping spree in IKEA for furniture and such, which is as chaotic as it doesn’t sound. The tension between them is real and it’s there, so much so you just want them to get together already sometimes.
I’ve read this fic for a total of 4 times, and I will keep rereading it until the day I die. If you asked me what would come to mind if I thought about Ritshou, it would be the fic’s summary;
My dove, my doe, I love you so I cannot, will not, let you go
Ritsu and Shou have been orbiting around each other ever since they were thirteen years old. Really, something like this was inevitable.
It’s so simple and sweet, and somehow, without fail, every time this summary (specifically the poem) comes to mind, I would get teary eyed. Even now I’m getting :’( over the poem, just because it literally speaks Ritshou to me.
The fic starts off with Ritsu heading back home by train to Seasoning City during his summer break from college in Grain City. It’s written in a way where it’s very easy for you to visualize the scenario of Ritsu waiting for the train to come while holding a cup of cheap coffee.
It’s realistically detailed too, going as far as to include little quirks about Ritsu and the people around him (stranger or not).
Both Shou and Shigeo gets introduced during a phone texting scene, where you can easily tell their personality was conveyed right through the way they message Ritsu. Shigeo adds little face emoticons with caring and sweet messages, and Shou shortens his words to ‘u’ and ‘ur’ with chaotic spacings between words and many exclamation marks.
Even Ritsu has his own way of messaging, always adding punctuation to his sentences.
Later on, after Ritsu arrives in Seasoning City, he’s picked up by Shigeo and Teru, who are already a couple in this fic, and you can tell how much Ritsu misses his home.
Teru is such a beautiful mess in this fic, everything about him is dramatic and overtop, going from his haircut to his little diet habits, and he’s still playful with Ritsu. The ‘Little Brother’ nickname will never go away.
(Also, at some point, Ritsu makes a face immaturely after seeing Shigeo drop a kiss on Teru’s head and I think that was pretty funny)
(Also also, they all call Reigen ‘Dad’. Which is hecking adorable, but it did confuse me at some point because Ritsu named Reigen’s contact as Dad and I legitimately thought that was Ritsu’s actual dad until later.)
Fast forward after Ritsu gets a haircut from Teru in Spirits and Such. Pretty funny considering how Reigen did the same thing to Serizawa in Season 2, but I’m mildly sure Serizawa doesn’t exist in this fic so it was probably a coincidence.
So they’re going shopping and Ritsu gets another text from Shou, because Shou isn’t in town, or at least, that was what we were led to believe, until he does pop up.
And it wouldn’t be Shou if his appearance isn’t random, so of course his first line is to comment on Kiwis looking like balls.
Ritsu, being Ritsu, responds by calling Shou an asshole and proceeds to be conflicted between wanting to punch Teru, because he knew all along, or wanting to hug Shou, because Ritsu misses him so much. He goes for the latter.
Cue Shou and Ritsu hanging out because Shigeo and Teru had to go save Reigen from a spirit job, and their interaction is just so Ritshou it makes you feel fuzzy inside y’know? Because it’s just...friends being friends.
Ok so fast forward again, and they’re sitting around in Ritsu’s room and here’s where the plot begins:
Shou, sleepily, declares he wants them to live together, before suddenly falling asleep.
And Ritsu panics because he can’t tell if he’s serious or just sleep drunk. So he consults Teru to confirm this, who answers that, yes, Shou was being serious, and this just makes Ritsu panic even more because wow he did not expect that and mostly because he can’t afford an apartment.
Shou, being the rich boy he is, offers to settle the payment, because of course he would.
Ritsu weighs his options in his head and convinces himself that he’ll do it. So that’s what they do. They make a little list, which is funny and adorable, and start scouting for apartments online.
Fast forward yet again and Ritsu’s plan was to first gather his shit from his dorm room, crash there for a bit, before fully moving into the new apartment.
Reigen, Teru, and Shigeo are seeing the two off at the train station, and Reigen being Reigen, he’s all double checking that Ritsu has all his shit and it’s just such a dad moment.
Most of their luggage is Shou’s because Ritsu packs light and most of his things are at the dorm, and I brought this up because of this scene:
“It’s my oldest friend!” Shou had argued, trying to wrestle it from Ritsu’s hands. “Six years I have known you, Suzuki, and never once has there been a working bulb in this lamp.”
We get a few more cute scenes of Shou running around and being playful before being tired out and falling asleep on the train, and there’s this tender moment where Shou’s snuggling on Ritsu’s jacket, which the latter had taken off early, and he makes a comment saying how it smells like Ritsu which just baffles the only. It’s...nice, makes me fluffy.
Anyways they reach Ritsu’s dorm to crash and pack, and they have this scene where Shou gets a little emotional about how organized Ritsu is, and he genuinely couldn’t believe how Ritsu is making this work.
So! Chapter 6, alright! And it’s the apartment viewing chapter, because of course they need to view apartments before moving in (which is as fun as it sounds).
They view 3 apartments, with the third try being the charm;
Apartment 1 fucking sucks! And Ritsu only chose this because he wanted to get a feel of how apartment viewing works, and you gotta hand it to him for thinking ahead. So no matter what, he knows he won’t be buying this apartment.
Apartment 2 was actually pretty decent, the landlord, however, was not. Throughout this scene, she is constantly trying to get into Ritsu’s space, and you don’t exactly know what’s up until the very end where she gets really close. Shou saves Ritsu in the end by dragging him away and making it known that, “THIS IS MY MAN DO NOT TOUCH.” And makes an enemy out of her, so big whoops.
Apartment 3 is kinda awkward but workable, with their landlord being the sweetest man to walk this earth. His kids were born on the viewing day, which made him a little late, though Ritsu finds in understandable. After the viewing, Ritsu asks if they can crash at the apartment even though they haven’t actually gotten it yet, and the man’s like, “Don’t worry, you’re gonna live here anyways so might as well crash here now!” Protect this man.
Next scene we have Ritsu finally moving out of his dorm and into the apartment with Shou and after getting a few groceries, they finally decide they should head to IKEA for furniture. It’s a pretty funny scene because everyone knows IKEA is an equivalent to a bloody maze, so you get to watch them play around in the display rooms and climbing into beds and getting lost.
And it’s funnier because this is the Shou’s first time stepping foot into an IKEA, and Ritsu makes fun of him for it briefly. Shou gets back at him later on when they’re playing around in a bathroom display room.
he doesn’t quite notice where Shou’s wandered off to until he turns around from a bathroom sink and spots him in a shower stall, calling him over with a wave of his hand. Ritsu steps inside, ducking his head under the bar for the shower curtain
He almost startles when Shou reaches over and pulls the shower curtain closed with a flourish, leaving them enclosed in the shower stall, somehow still mysteriously lit by no lamp that Ritsu can see. He shoots Shou a questioning look, only to snort when Shou leans back against the shower wall, a hand over his heart and eyelashes fluttering.
“Why, Mister Kageyama,” he says, all false coquettishness, “Cornering a young girl like me alone in a place like this? How scandalous.”
He considers giving Shou the reaction he wants, a laugh and a shove on the shoulder and possibly a comment about exactly how classy making out in an IKEA shower stall is, but the reaction he’d gotten earlier was too good to resist playing along with the joke.
He shamelessly uses his height advantage when he steps into Shou’s space, one leg between Shou’s and a hand propped casually on the wall beside his head. He leans down so that their noses are almost touching, and says low, “Well with you standing here all gorgeous like this, how could I resist?”
It’s pathetic joke flirting, some cheesy disaster line out of every old black and white movie he’s ever watched with his mother, so he doesn’t quite expect it when Shou seems to freeze, eyes wide and locked onto Ritsu’s. It’s only for a few seconds, a barely noticeable pause before Shou’s howling with laughter as he pushes past him out of the shower, but Ritsu gets caught on it, on the hitch he thought he’d heard in Shou’s breath, on the way he feels oddly wired, like his skin is buzzing from the proximity, and what the fuck had just happened?
This scene, ladies and gentlemen, had me sold on the fic. Starting with how Shou had playfully dragged Ritsu into the display shower in an attempt to tease Ritsu, only to be surprised that Ritsu had played along because, according to Ritsu, the raven would usually just laugh and dismiss the joke as a joke.
You can literally see that’s where the subtle feelings come out, where their friendship suddenly moves a bit faster into something more. It’s a slowburn for a reason, because their relationship happens really slow, so it’s moments like these that makes you really warm inside.
We come to a near end to the fic from here, which includes a scene where Shou cooks and Ritsu has a wet dream that’s pretty brief tbh and nothing too explicit don’t worry. Then there’s some scenes where Ritsu’s doing school things and Shou’s being Shou in the kitchen and everywhere.
It slows to a stop after the iconic Shou and Ritsu flies scene, because we’re all suckers for Ritsu trusting Shou that he won’t drop him when they fly.
SO! You can pretty much get the idea of how the fic will end/go from there since the major arc scene has been settled (moving in together). And frankly, if Ravenesta was to stop the fic on chapter 9, I don’t think we’ll lose too much since the only thing we didn’t get is a conclusion to the slowburn.
If you’ve read up to here, thanks for indulging me I suppose. I mostly write little reviews for my own sake since I really talk too much and it’s very hard to collect my thoughts at times.
Is this a fic I would recommend? Most definitely yes, it’s lovely, it’s well written, it’s captivating. It is the embodiment of Ritshou’s romance, and I really wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

MP100 Analysis: Teru’s Sexuality
(Honestly, “Teru’s Sexuality” isn’t what I really wanted to title this, but it was the simplest one I could think of. This analysis mostly focus on Teruki’s feelings for Kageyama and his gay coding. So I guess the extended title would be “MP100 Analysis: Teruki’s Romantic Orientation and His Feelings Towards Mob,” but that one doesn’t roll off the tongue as well.)
Okay, well, it took me a week to prepare for this, but here it is! I apologize for the long wait. Here are some ground rules:
1. I will only be using manga pictures. I am aware of the official art and the anime adding extra scenes. However, the canoncity (canonness?) of such material could be debated since it’s not the source material, but instead derived from it. I don’t want to face debates on me using faulty evidence.
2. Since I am using the manga, there will be HEAVY manga spoilers. Not slight such as “oh, Teru oogles Mob during this arc,” but MAJOR things such as screencaps of the last few arcs. If you’re okay with that, then good! But if you haven’t read the manga, I highly suggest you do that first. (AND that you read it from the beginning!)
3. While I am doing this because I personally believe Teru is gay, please do not take this post as fact/canon. I don’t want this to cause any drama in the fandom. It’s all for fun after all! And on that note, I don’t mind seeing everyone else’s takes on this.
4. As I was writing this I realized that I used “Kageyama” instead of “Mob.” So just to specify: “Kageyama” only refers to Shigeo. “Ritsu” is, well, Ritsu.
With that out of the way, the analysis is under the cut!
I’m planning to cover all aspects of why I believe Teru is gay. For that reason, I’ll be splitting things up into sections. (Otherwise, it’d just be one big jumble of words.) First section
Attachment.
After Teru’s first defeat, we can clearly see that he’s fixated on Kageyama. Which...in itself is peculiar. He loses a fight to some amazing psychic, has a fever for 3 days, and yet is immediately able to look past it? Hmm...
He has almost immediately adopted Kageyama’s ideals and is even trying to act on them. As soon as he sees Ritsu, he steps in and tries to change the other’s mindset. Just like Kageyama did for him.
There’s also the image of the shining light in the dark. I believe this is a metaphor for Kageyama. It’s clear that Teruki holds him to higher expectations than, really, anyone else, and would definitely see him as a “light,” so to say. This especially works considering Teruki’s speech about “being the light vs being in the light” from when we first met him.
This is a good display of Teruki is already fixated on Kageyama despite not seeing him again.
Then, there is the Ritsu kidnapping arc.
Teruki tries to come along when Kageyama is planning to save his brother. You could argue that it’s only because Kageyama didn’t have a plan ready, but that begs the question as to why Teru should care so much. He has met Ritsu once and said interaction wasn’t exactly under good intentions. This is simply Teru taking an interest in the things Kageyama cares about.
However, there is also his “explanation” for coming along.
But we all know that Teru doesn’t need Kageyama’s help to defeat a group of Claw members. He did it before when he was younger and less experienced. What would stop him from doing it now?
There is also the fact that after Dimple pointed out that Teruki’s help wasn’t much, Teru then went out of his way to refuse financial support among other things. He wanted to do this with Kageyama alone. That’s something that, easily, could be interpreted as an attempt to impress the other.
Teruki has also gone out of his way to track down/talk to Kageyama several times.
The first time there was a viable excuse - he needed to talk to Kageyama about the “fake White T Poison.” However, the other two times he simply wanted to be around Kageyama.
(During this scene, Kageyama was going out shopping. Nothing exactly was wrong, Teru just decided to talk to him.)
(At this time, Teru seemed to simply pick Kageyama out from a crowd again, and partly because the boy was upset. Which - if not due to Teru’s “need” to be close to Kageyama - is due to another point I have.)
Protectiveness
Teru is needlessly protective of Kageyama. Both physically and emotionally.
When Kageyama was panicking over Ritsu’s kidnapping, Teruki didn’t just let him go. But why? Kageyama is one of the strongest psychics he knows. He could most definitely just take down claw with the amount of power he has. Surely the “structure” doesn’t matter.
He also goes out of his way to stick to what Kageyama wants, and even Dimple says that it’s thoughtful. And as we all know, Teru is great at plans and strategy. If he wanted to, he could devise a plan on his own. The only reasons for him letting Kageyama takeover is to: make him happy, see more of his talent, and to make sure Teru sticks to his ideals.
It also speaks to how much Teruki has changed from the beginning. He used to insist that he was the main character, and now here he is, following behind instead of taking the lead. Amazing how just one guy could change him so much.
Teruki continues to take Kageyama’s feelings into account during the entire kidnapping arc. He does it to the point where it slightly inhibits their chances of escape.
Having three psychics to take on the Claw members would help tremendously, but immediately after seeing Kageyama’s worried expression, he backtracks and says they can fight without Ritsu.
And then, after seeing Kageyama unconscious, he starts to panic.
Part of this panic can be explained by Teruki’s shock. He sees Kageyama as some impossible opponent, so the assumption that a Claw member was able to defeat him is possibly earth-shattering. However, that doesn’t exactly explain the clear, genuine relief Teru shows when Kageyama wakes up.
Part of it must be his protectiveness.
Then, during the World Domination arc, Teru actually pleads for Kageyama to turn out alright.
And lastly, during the Final arc, he outright says that he can and will protect Kageyama. (Not to mention that this was after an attempt to comfort Kageyama, because Teru knew something was wrong.)
At the very least, it’s easy to see that Teru cares about Kageyama.
Reactions
A weird subtitle, I know, but I’m referring to how Teruki reacts differently to things concerning Kageyama than to anything else. A good example of this is when Ritsu started to cry. Teru didn’t react at all. He was uninterested, really.
But earlier, when Ritsu and Kageyama were reconciling, he looked blatantly happy.
Same for when Kageyama first woke up. (Posted earlier.)
There was a similar occurrence when they first infiltrated Claw, as well. Teruki was distracted with staring at Kageyama and didn’t notice an enemy until the guy was only a few feet behind him.
And then there’s the time Kageyama mentioned he was getting popular. Teruki’s reaction is vastly different from Ritsu’s.
Ritsu straight up cries tears of joy. He’s happy that his brother is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
But Teruki visibly stops. You could claim it’s because he knows Kageyama isn’t actually popular, but there’s no way to be sure. He hasn’t seen what Kageyama’s school life is like, so he wouldn’t know if girls are actually staring or not. If anything, he believes what Kageyama is saying and seems slighty disappointed.
(He then proceeds to say Kageyama is handsome. Do I even need to touch on that?)
And then we head into the Divine Tree arc. Ironically, I think Teruki’s true feelings shine the most while he’s under hypnosis.
Right off the bat, we know its Teruki’s true feelings because Dimple tells us so. And Dimple has no reason to lie. That’s what this arc is about - 100% truth.
The wording here is something that sticks out. Their relationship, not friendship, not rivalry. In Teru’s eyes, their relationship is either doesn’t fit those labels or is more complicated than that. This makes perfect sense under the premise that Teruki has romantic feelings for Kageyama.
And then, as the arc continues, Teruki keeps putting Kageyama before the Divine Tree.
The focus of the hypnosis is that everyone will put the Divine Tree first. The Tree is supposed to be important enough to them that, apparently, if Kageyama agreed to be the co-founder, it would instantly give him Tsubomi’s love. And yet here we can see that even though Teru is actively fighting over it, the Tree is still an afterthought when he’s talking.
And when Teru is blasted away, we once again see that Kageyama is his priority.
Not even hypnosis could stop his strong feelings.
(And at this time I’d like to say that yes, Dimple said Teru felt respect, but there’s no way to be certain about that. The only one that knows what he felt at that time is himself.)
And finally, the notorious panel set during the epilogue.
Everyone else is seen actively engaging and teasing Kageyama about his crush, but Teruki avoids the conversation. And there is, honestly, no other explanation that makes sense besides Teruki harboring some negative feelings towards the whole Kageyama-Tsubomi circumstance. (We all know it doesn’t take that long to sip some tea.)
Heteronormativity
This section won’t be as screenshot heavy as the other few. That’s partly because this was a section I thought of while writing this post and also because, well, the only screenshots I’d have would be of Teruki before his change in character. (I would also like to give credit to @terumobwiki. His post gave me a good idea of what to write for this section, and without it, I may have left this part out.)
Before meeting Kageyama, Teruki was living the stereotypical “dream life.” He had a girlfriend, was popular in school, great at sports, etc etc. But we clearly see in his flashback (at least, in the manga) that he isn’t actually happy with all this. When he’s being congratulated on his perfect scores, he looks bored or possibly even depressed. A perfect life isn’t what he actually wants. He was just forcing himself to enjoy it.
And then, after Kageyama comes into his life, Teruki isn’t mentioned to have a girlfriend ever again. Which is definitely interesting, considering we blatantly see that he still has fangirls and gets confessions often. It’s clear throughout the show that he still struggles with pride, too, and yet this other key factor of his past self isn’t there. And, unsurprisingly, he seems to be way happier without a girlfriend.
Conclusion: Teruki is gay and has romantic feelings for Kageyama. The evidence is in all the previously mentioned points. And yes, other characters close to Kageyama have some of these traits, but not all four. For example, Ritsu is protective of Kageyama, but he doesn’t go out of his way to stick by his brother, nor does he change his morals to fit the other’s.
And if you don’t think this is what a crush is like, think back to the last one you had. Did you not wish to spend more time with that person? Did you not want to show off in front of them, or instead, wanted to watch them more closely? Did you not react differently around them than compared to others?
Case in point.
