Whats something you wish was improved with twst? Whether itd be the story, art, gameplay wtv

To me, the story is solid but my only complaint are the art card (since im used to being fed to things that are more detailed? And more vast in themes?? I still like it though)

It’s too late to fix book 2–

I’d be content if TWST just added a permanent skip lessons feature instead of limiting us to 10 maximum a day (and not even letting us use the skips on the Extra Lessons!!) 😔 Lessons in general just eat up too much time to do (even if you set to Auto), especially if you’re trying to grind for a specific item drop. While we’re at it, I wouldn’t mind if TWST increased the item drop rates too 😭 I need so many books to level up spells…

About the art, there’s only so much the team can do with its size, resources, and time limitations so not every illustration will be a banger. The team is doing their best with what they have! While I’m personally not a fan of every card art (the groovies are so hit and miss), TWST is definitely up there for me in terms of how appealing the general art style is. I do have to say it’s sometimes inconsistent though, and I chalk that up to it being a team working on the art and not a singular person that produces consistent results. It would be nice if the devs could retroactively tweak older cards to look a little less wonky (be it anatomically or in terms of colors), but 💦 I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon, if at all.

1. who is the better cook?

him for sure, although neither of us are too big of a fan of cooking. i think he just tolerates it more than i do, although i do think there are some recipes he legitimately enjoys

2. who takes longer showers?

me. idk if its the adhd but i tend to forget how much time i spend in there and before i know it, he has to poke his head into the bathroom as a passive aggressive way of telling me that i stole all the hot water 😭

3. who is more organized?

him for sure. a point of contention with us is that i'm way too messy and it drives him through the roof. some boundaries had to be established and while it still makes him grumpy sometimes, he respects my space

4. who generally spends more money?

neither? technically me because if i get fixated on something, i'll tend to impulse shop but usually limit it to small-ish things or wait until they're on sale! he likes buying specialty teas and coffees and sometimes those can get kinda pricey, so i think we roughly break even

5. who likes sleeping in more?

hmm. i think this is difficult to answer because we both suffer from pretty bad insomnia. i think if it's who ends up sleeping in for longer, it's me. i'm the type that'll take like 4-5 hours to fall asleep but i can stay asleep once the sun rises (which is incredibly annoying) his insomnia is the type where he can get shut-eye for like 20 minutes at a time, which usually translates to him getting out of bed as soon as the sun starts to rise regardless of if he slept or not

6. who is the better driver?

im a passenger princess (✿◡‿◡) but also because driving gives me anxiety because i've gotten into accidents before, so he just does it for me, so it's levi for sure

7. who is the most stubborn?

hard to say. i think me. he usually gives in first because he gets way too irritated and is just like "whatever".

8. who is the most romantic?

neither 👁️👄👁️ at least not in the traditional sense. maybe me because i'm a sucker for romantic sunset walks (✿◡‿◡) but also him because sometimes he'll leave cute little notes around the house for me and it makes me melt (i have a little collection of them :3)

9. who is more laid back?

me. i think he's overall more extra or particular than i am. and this isn't in regards to him needing clean spaces. that's fine. i'm talking about the extra amount of work he constantly puts into every little thing, especially when it comes to house projects or even picking out toys for the cats. whereas i'm just kinda like...as long as it's not doing harm, convenience is king

10. who is more likely to ask for directions?

me. and it's a silly reason. like yes, i'm directionally confused a lot but i think levi would want to just. wander around and hope we get unlost and i'm not interested in doing that.

also me 😅 i get very fitful when my insomnia acts up, which usually translates into me wanting to hug something (why, you ask? no idea), whether it's him, a pillow, my plushie, or (in most cases), the blanket.

him. he's technologically confused, which translates him to just not really using his phone unless he has to. it also means he's shit at answering texts on time >:(

him because i was too shy 😅 i still thought it was some kind of joke as to why he was even interested in me, so i never really made a move.

hard to say. probably me since i was crushing on him forever, but he was the one that reached out and started stuff soooooo who knows

𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝗺𝐞𝐬: an ability to set an area in flames. The ability can only be activated with a powerful chant and complete focus. The maximum range is 1 square mile (640 acres). As the ability activates, ancient talismans are carved onto the ground into the desired shape that Jun-Pa needs to burn an area. When the shape is complete, the area will be set ablaze.

- Phew! Sorry for all the theatrics, Jun-Pa might’ve taken control a bit there😔🙏

- I’m very happy to announce the release of Jun-Pa, who is the mysterious OC that looks a lot like Siphok (they look like carbon copies of each other tbh)🥳💖

- I planned to make a big comic regarding Siphok’s lore, but due to the limited time I have and the lack of motivation, I might as well just make little snippets of the lore instead!

- But before we get into that, let’s talk a bit more about Jun-Pa since she wasn’t feeling like revealing too much about herself.

- Her name, Jun-Pa, is the name of a type of tropical plant called Dracaena loureiri Gagnep (scientific name). I just like how the name sounds and it feels quite homey because I see these trees all the time!✨

- Her last name, Chatchaya, means “victory”. The name is masculine in Thai, because it is actually her late adoptive father’s surname that she took when he passed.

꧁𝐉𝐮𝐧-𝐏𝐚 𝐋𝗼𝐫𝐞꧂

- When creating Jun-Pa’s story, I was actually inspired by a popular superstition in the northeast of Thailand about souls. It is said that everyone is born with a soul called “Kwan”and this little Kwan usually comes from the crown of our head.

*it is important to note that this is a superstition, and it is different for every household.

- The soul is known to be jumpy, especially if the person is still young. The younger they are, the jumpier the souls get. For example, when babies cry due to whatever reason like being startled, adults would say “ขวัญเอยขวัญมา“ which directly translates to “Oh soul, please come back”. The superstitions says that when you are scared or went through a traumatizing experience, your soul will basically get lost or fly away.

- For adults, back in the old times when Thai men go to war and they come back traumatized, it is said that their soul is lost, so a ceremony was created to bring souls back. The ceremony is simple, basically bringing the traumatized person around to places where they have good memories, and there loved ones would use a fishing net to scoop the air in that area as if to acquire the lost soul. There are more details to the ceremony, but I won’t go in too deep because I don’t wanna bore you all😭.

*it is important to note that it is not only men/soldiers that get traumatized, it could happen to anyone.

Jun-Pa’s case is similar to the superstition. She was an orphan that was severely abused in her orphanage, before a man decided to adopt her and call her his own.

Growing up, Jun-Pa was surrounded with martial arts and ancient magic. The man, who is her adoptive father, was a martial artist and a man who had a mind beyond his time. That said he had many great views that are considered normal today (ex: feminism, gender equality, etc.)

However, at that time, anyone who was different was frowned upon. The high elders of the section of Attidaya (where Jun-Pa and her father lived), managed to weave conspiracies on her father, accusing him of treason and practicing black magic and whatnot.

Sooner or later, her father was publicly executed right in front of her eyes, and at that moment her soul (quite literally) left her body.

At that point on, she was driven with madness and practiced many dark forbidden arts to enact her revenge. She was on the run for many years, until she publicly revealed herself to the authorities to get sentence to death like her father.

Jun-Pa’s plan was set in stone the moment she was tied to a stake. It was the moment where she revealed her unique magic. Using all her power, she managed to burn the whole section of the country alive along with her. The section is known today as “Thuli”, the place forever immortalized as ashes.

But Jun-Pa did not die peacefully. She couldn’t be reborn or go anywhere, getting stuck in limbo. In order to be reborn, she must find her lost soul.

As if luck was on her side, her soul somehow managed to find itself in Twisted Wonderland. Jun-Pa was surprised to see that her soul had taken a physical, human form; for it must’ve been reborn as a new being in another world.

The soul is, you guessed it, Siphok!

As for how Jun-Pa is going to get her soul back, we’ll have to see how the story will unfold in the future✍️✨

I think a lot of us found out (the hard way 😭) that Tumblr has certain restrictions on links. But all is not lost (if you still have your write-up in your drafts).

Tumblr makes a distinction between inline links and link blocks. Apologies if you already know this, but just in case – an inline link is simply a line of text (you have to type it out) that also functions as a hyperlink to a post or video elsewhere. A link block, however, is like a screenshot or image that functions as a hyperlink; it's usually an image with text overlaid, but the text cannot be copied or manipulated.

This is an example of an inline link: 'I tried posting my 2023 summary thingy...'

And this is an example of a link block:

Clicking on either of the above links will take you to the post in question.

On Tumblr, however, the maximum number of inline links in a post is 100. But the maximum number of link blocks you can create is only 10.

To create an inline link, you have to copy the URL of the post you want to link to, type out some text in your write-up as a link, highlight the text, click on the 'Link' icon that pops up and then paste the URL in the field that appears before clicking 'Done'.

To create a link block, you simply paste the URL directly into your write-up as you type, which is obviously the easier solution and what most of us would do.

But then we get hit with the limit for link blocks, which is only 10 and certainly not enough for all the favorite posts by month. (Yes, I found this out the hard way, and had to convert all my link blocks to inline links before I could move on beyond May or so in my 2023 summary. 😂) And this is why so many of the 2023 summaries were just composed of text and links, with few images.

I hope this info is useful! Just convert your link blocks to inline links and Tumblr will let you continue with your 2023 write-up. 👍 Do let me know when it's posted because I'm sure I'll love reading it! 🤩
