Submitting myself to physical therapy for my cringefail shoulders bc I remembered it's a muscle problem, aka something that can possibly be fixed, SO

On the 16th, I am starting physical therapy again 💪

#just. ugh #i only JUST graduated from high school and im already beyond stressed #i need to pick up a second and maybe third job on top of my existing responsibilities bc my expenses are about to skyrocket #i need to worry about paying health insurance and covering bills and my medical costs while simultaneously saving up for a car and an -#- apartment and transition-related expenses because my mom can no longer afford to support me with my friend also living here #and im the more responsible one out of us so im the one who has to deal with paying for everything even though she's not even part of the -#- family. yay.#i can't imagine our friendship will last once she moves out. im sorry but this is just fucking absurd #anyways. i have to prep a new resume and start applying to every business that doesn't seem wildly transphobic and/or conservative #if any irls have any leads on half decent employers then PLEASE let me know because the stress is eating me alive

the middle school principal wants to hire me in a full-time position so bad.

and who can blame him? i'm that substitute 💅

#he outright asked me today if i'd be interested in being a para and i told him i'm taking in-person classes right now for school #on tuesdays and thursdays so i can't do that #it's certainly something i have in my mind as a possibility #and frankly. i LIKE school like i like taking classes but in a very real sense. i prefer working #i'm a lot more comfortable working as a sub now than i was a year/year and a half ago #even on days where i get tossed around a lot like today it's like yeah whatever. i can adapt #especially if it's at the middle school as opposed to the high school #the high school... it sucks. in some ways. i don't hate going there but the admin is.... eeeugh #actually the whole district admin has some problems but the middle school admin is very bearable #tales from diana #i do turn 26 this year though and i'm gonna need health insurance. i've been very aware of that too in the time i've been subbing #yeah i like taking classes it's just hard to explain why i'm not like in the swing of things #ive never worked this many hours while taking in-person classes before at the same time #and the days i sub i have to get up earlier which is a bitch but it's so. like. yeah whatever i can do that #the largesse of a college campus is so strange to me after having taken a 2-year pause in my education #not to mention the commute which is long on both sides of the day #i dont actually wake up THAT much earlier to go to my class it's only like 90 minutes extra sleep anyway #when i sub i'm almost immediately *doing something* in my day. college is a lot of wandering and waiting around #the lack of business that i feel compared to being in a public middle or high school makes the day somehow no less weary for me #i hope i get more used to it i guess #i'm still not used to my new 5-day schedule of babysitting/class/subbing/class/subbing #every friday no longer feels like a friday and it's super odd to me #like it's delightful to be reminded that it's friday but i don't feel at all like it's even been 1 week #idk. yeah. everything's different now

ohhhh my god. okay. so. my aunt does like, she buys random junk in bulk from retail wholesalers and then resells it on like, facebook marketplace and ebay and stuff. whatever. so my mom works for her. makes a flat $50 a day, regardless of the fact that shes disabled and doing hard labor for at least 8 hours a day, often 10+. and min wage here is $10 an hour but mom argued that $50 a day is still more than what she would make working the same hours at an actual job because of taxes...like girl that would be 50% taxes. you do not pay that fucking much. so thats already Bad.

but today mom shows me a video of a knife theyre gonna sell, and i watch 2 seconds and i realize its an automatic knife, and i tell her hey. thats illegal to possess in this state. let alone sell! and mom is like ohhh [aunt] knows what shes doing itll be fine.... we sell knives on there all the time she just doesnt put pictures and calls them something else on the listing to get around fb/ebays policies :)

LIKE. HELLO. THATS NOT BETTER. YOURE COMMITTING MULTIPLE CRIMES. *AS YOUR JOB.* and she was just like "its not a big deal she knows what shes doing." folks, this is the same aunt that, very illegally, paid me to sort through her clients confidential tax documents and bank records and stuff. because she works for a bank. and took the records home to sort them. i dont think she DOES know what shes doing, actually!

#why do both of my parents need to be so impressively incompetent. i like. cannot find the words for how . i feel about this #like. idc about crimes. go forth. be free. but maybe. just maybe. you should not make your job #“hi today i will post about how i am selling illegally possessed objects on a widely used public forum”#dont do crimes STUPID. yanno.#in other parent news. its now like. month 6 or so of dad refusing to get his insurance reinstated.#hes been on the same step (taking his paystubs to the dhhr office) for like 3 months?#anyway apparently he found out today/last night that when he was a kid he was diagnosed with gastroparesis !#which is like ! cool! you have a diagnosis AND ive been living with that for 16 years and can help you 🥰#but we were sitting there with mom (this was right before the knife thing) and she was like “well you gotta get your insurance now so you #can get on the right meds“ and dad was like yeah ill go....#and mom was saying well go in the morning when they open etc etc and he was like i will #and i pointed out that just two weeks ago i told him that too. and he didnt want to. bc hed lose money due to not being able to work #and mom was like well he doesnt work at 8am. and i was like yeah i know but i told him to go at 8am two weeks ago and that was his response #and then he proceeded to claim that this whole time he didnt know they opened at 8am.#folks. he doesnt start working until like...usually 10 or so. WHAT GOVERNMENT OFFICE DOESNT OPEN UNTIL 10.#PLUS. WE LIVE IN A RURAL HOUR. *BUSY* TAKES LIKE AN HOUR. MOST OF THE TIME YOURE IN AND OUT WITHIN 20 MINITES.#ive been fucking considering PAYING HIM to go get it.#and then he claims he didnt know it opened at 8am. when i have told him that. MULTIPLE TIMES.#WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE LIKE THISSSS THEYRE THE MOST IMMATURE ADULTS IVE EVER MET AND THATS IMPRESSIVE!!!#IVE KNOWN PEOPLE WHO PAY THEIR RENT IN COKE OR WHO ARE ESSENTIALLY PROFESSIONAL PARTIERS. AND *THEYRE* MORE RESPONSIBLE AND MATURE THAN MY #PARENTS. SO WHAT GIVES.#also theyre 50 like cmon yall. youre not even 20 or 30. i think you should know how to not like. get your job shut down or die of lack #of medication.#did i tell yall one of the times a few months ago i was nagging dad abt getting his insurance #his response was literally. no exxageration.#he was like oughhh i dont wanna see doctors because then theyll find out somethings wrong with me #and ill have to go on a bunch of medication.#and then he actually for real. said.#“being on too many medications killed my grandma”#even mom was like cmon man. thats not even true. they misdiagnosed her and put her on WRONG meds. she wasnt even on that many.

#I'm not doing well.#the last two places I worked (in a tourism-adjacent sector) closed. broadly speaking due to post-lockdown financial issues #for the past year at my current job I've been earning less than half what I used to. this was the only offer I got at the time and #I haven't found anything better since. this is not sustainable I'm barely making it each month...#I live with my parents and cancelled my health insurance I don't know how else to reduce my budget. it's depressing tbh #the solution is obviously to find a better job but that's just not happening and I'm beginning to feel discouraged.#I hate being negative it's a very unattractive character trait but I just feel myself slipping and spiraling #I know I should be taking short courses or volunteering to boost my cv but like when ! and how !#I can't afford to work less but I get home at 20h so even evening courses are tricky. I work every other saturday too so weekends are out #and like I do need to rest at some point you can't be depressed and burnt out that's a terrible combo #was looking at a dtp/typesetting short course and 1) I'll need a new computer that can actually run design programs #and 2) the course itself is like 2 month's salaries which I cannot realistically save right now #and yet I'm still ''over-qualified'' for entry level positions because I went to uni. well maybe that's just a polite excuse #because as interesting as my humanities degrees were they didn't equip me with any practical or marketable skills #besides being good at reading and writing. but AI can do that for free now so that's not helpful #I always thought I was reasonably intelligent but I cannot solve this puzzle. there must be a creative solution that I'm missing #but i feel so stuck and trapped #and at least once a week some poor soul stumbles in to the office practically begging for a job so I feel bad for complaining #a little truly is better than nothing #but thank god we elected more pro-business capitalists into government that really is going to be great for us workers (sarcasm)#also I should acknowledge #I am getting some déjà vu. I feel like I've vented about this topic before #the difference is. back then it was a potential concern. now the concern has materialised into reality and rendered the situation desperate

anyway! one of the jobs I applied and interviewed told me today they’re going w someone else which sucks but like. Ah well, it be like that sometimes.

#it was a bit above entry level anyway so it’s unlikely #plus it was management which Had at least one person under it and. unless that person is a Similar Age I doubt they’d want a 21yr old boss #still disappointing tho; it was in the location I’d prefer and a local library so like. LEAST evil capitalism skillset setting #plus I did two rounds of in depth interviews (including making a 7 page proposal + a program flyer for round 2)#but like again. oh well! not much I can do about it #I have an interview tomorrow w a different company and I’m gonna start around round of applications soon #the place tomorrow is more downtown + bit more ‘cog in the machine’ style but not bad! it’s like a business advisement company #w the position I’m looking at specifically regarding like. employee insurance and Benefits #PLUS it’s hybrid which is rlly nice. biggest downside tbh is that I would likely continue living at my parents place #(bc price of living here is. Bad. it would 1000% be the most affordable. if I moved out I’d likely need 1+ roommates)#but like. idk!! i just Want my own place. to rlly solidify that like yeah no I’m in a New Life Period. I’m an Adult Now #tldr I’m a bit disappointed and let down but. I’m not gonna let it get to me. shit happens n you did what you could n you move on!!!

Got a basic watch so I’m less beholden to my phone, sold some furniture online, cleaned the car, went to the library and found copies of The Spinner’s Book of Yarn Designs and Norwegian Mittens and Gloves (!!!) and printed some tablet weaving patterns. Quite a productive day, if I do say so myself

#now i just need to get insurance file my taxes and get my new drivers license #bleh #also it would be nice if the insurance agent actually called be back #because do you know how hard it is for me to call during business hours??#i have the bravery of a spineless worm when it comes to telephones #literally so easy to let my job be an excuse not to call #but i really don't want to get kicked out of my house or something
