"Beyond Piggly Wiggly is a cultural history of self-service that reveals how grocers and other stakeholders invested time and money into convincing consumers that doing the literal heavy lifting of shopping was both economically advantageous and socially and culturally acceptable (and sometimes even preferred). Lisa C. Tolbert shows how through trial and error local grocers refined self-service, shifting grocery stores from human-dependent food distribution depots to 'systems for automatic selling.'"

Business History:
Established 2022.
I am a scientist and minister as an artist working creatively with the lord for love, peace, and harmony. Flow with me.
People were after my influence, doing black alchemy like crazy to me, looking into my future consistently, defaming me, inverted things were going on, and nature was a little more louder than usual. I’ve had life changing experiences with the lord and wanted to grow spiritually. So, I’ve made it my business to keep my influence, influence positive change, preserve grace and honor (for the lord at my church, in my family, & culture), keep the lord’s presence in my home & church, and promote peace as a Priestess of the gospel of Jesus and his works in my life. All, after raising awareness to the inverted things going on that were an emergency at the time considering my personal experiences in desperate hopes of knowing what could & will happen in the future. Jesus will be at the center of religion again. AND two people, reserved & prophesied for one another are to be married formally. I am the keeper of formal unions, among many other things. My goal is to have everyone in the galaxy tuned to the frequency of heaven and to live as responsibly as possible in the light of Jesus. Upright and sensible forever.
The two will have the ceremony

The problem with folks arguing on the Internet about whether it's "realistic" to use a scythe as a weapon is that they're almost never actually talking about scythes; they're talking about some sort of fictitious vaguely-scythe-inspired polearm, and there's no point having an argument about that, because obviously a weapon can be used as a weapon. Let's bring real scythes into the picture – I want to see the hypothetical combat stance for one of these:

Number, Please
As I looked around at my newsfeeds over the last week or so, I have come to a conclusion. The Democrats have won, they have guaranteed one Donald Trump will have a second term as President. We have all, for decades known the Republicans to be “The Stupid Party” but it seems that the Jackass Party is even more imbecilic. Don’t go to sleep for a year, of course, we still have to run the race but…

There are parts of queer history we will never touch. People who lived quiet lives and were forgotten within a generation. Stories that were tucked under the bed and hidden from the world. Diaries that were burned with nothing to recover. Beyond the hiding, there is queerness that never had the chance to be discovered, people who felt different but never gave themselves a moment or sliver of grace to explore, much less vocalize it. This is worth mourning. It is worth cradling to your chest and feeling to the fullest devastation. More than anything else, it is worth remembering.

"Greg Glasgow and Kathryn Mayer’s Disneyland on the Mountain is environmental history at its very best. The battle to save the sequoia groves in the High Sierras from a sprawling Disney resort ended as a victory for the conservation movement in the 1970s. The legal activist and Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, as portrayed in these pages, would’ve made John Muir proud. Highly recommend!"

I’m not sure when exactly this happened, but I think it’s clear that the aro community really is a community, now.
For the longest time I’ve felt like we were still in stasis, not quite there; a proto-community, yes, but not quite a community. But we have more history now to lean back on, more of each other to talk to and laugh with and cry with and learn from. More people that’ll go forward and make a part of modern aro history. More people that believe us, believe in us, will stand with us if we ask them.
I wouldn’t consider myself an aro elder yet, though each year I’m surprised at how long aromanticism has been a part of my life, how long I’ve been free of doubt or insecurity about my aromanticism, how far we’ve come since I was questioning. Then again, when I was questioning, some of the people I looked up to for guidance were probably close to the age I am now, so I might be there sooner than I think.
And, I’m so so hopeful for all aros, young or old, new or not, because we’ve come so far. Day by day, progress is slow (and yes, it’s unfair, it should be so much faster), but looking back it feels fast. We are our own role models, the people we look up to for guidance. We carve our own path through life, making things up as we go. I used to find that terrifying, because I had no idea what the future would bring. But it’s actually amazing, because I can ignore all these silly “rules” and guidelines about what my life should be, and instead ask, “what do I want my life to be?”
Younger me, you have no idea how awesome your future is gonna be. I’m sorry about the pain and hardship you’ll go through first; it won’t be fair and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. But you’ll make it through, and one day you’ll be me. I can’t wait for you to get here.
