i love my butch friend so much i went to their house and they immediately offered to do detailing on my car for me and they just posted a process video of them fixing up and rebuilding a shelf they got on the street and they also sell custom hand painted skateboards. i went to their house a couple weeks ago with another butch korean friend to watch squid game and they kept wrestling in the middle of the episode and knocking shit over i was like ah yes this is where i am supposed to be

🍽: 떡볶이 tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes) — Yeah, here come the Korea food pics~ Once I landed in Daegu and took a taxi to my sister’s apartment, I had to entertain myself for a couple of hours before meeting up with her at her workplace. I was just gonna starve until dinner but... that didn’t end up happening. I ended up walking to a bunshik place in her neighborhood that she told me to go to and got some spicy rice cakes to go. They were simple but tasty. I know what i want -- Career Path

It must be a year of discovery 

i started off the year thinking that i wanted to go into marketing. I’ve always wanted to create a restaurant group but i didnt know where to start, how to get the capital to start it and/or if i had the qualifications to even start a restaurant.

Fast forward to today, I’ve officially decided to go into finance. Well not finance finance but Business Administration with a focus in finance. From there, I want to take my career into consulting. Whether that consulting comes from a well known corporation or a smaller consulting firm, I’d like to see businesses succeed and help with their success. From there, i would like to learn how to run a business by watching what works and what doesnt when it comes to starting a business specifically hospitality.

Hopefully by then, I have enough capital, connections, etc to make it work. By make it work meaning, I’m comfortable in terms of wealth, family, etc. When i have those things, I’d like to expand my expertise by starting my own restaurant group, starting with one restaurant. The concept of the restaurant group is to bring Korean food into the spotlight. Just as Italian food, french food has come and gone, I want Korean food to be as ubiquitous as those options. It wont be like chinese food which has evolved to american tastes and therefore changed everything about it. theres no soul, no depth and very little heart. 

Korean food is korean food, food from korea, but at the same time theres so many different types of korean food. bunshik, hanshik, janchi, I want to create a restaurant brand that highlights those aspects, celebrates centuries of culture. something that shouldnt looked down upon when a korean kid brings korean food in the midst of pb&j sandwiches. It should bring on curiosity as well as admiration. Korean people have a lot to be proud of. The food revolution is hitting Korea like a whirlwind. theyre experimenting trying new things, taking the old and making it new.

I love that. But at the same time, I had the diversification of korean food with say, Mexican food. Just as italian food would never taint true italian with say, mexican, Korean food should be treated the same. I think Korean food tastes the best when its by itself. 

But hopefully, my goal is to make Korean food as celebrated as fine French food. I dont want to make it a food that is only accessible to the rich, but accessible to all and celebrated by all
