Star Trek series rated by Canadianness!
The Original Series - Shatner's from Montreal; Doohan's from Vancouver; John Collicos (the guy who played Kor, the first Klingon) is from somewhere in Canada; and, um...yeah. 4/10
The Next Generation - So, in the episode "Lower Decks", Lavelle tries to bond with Riker over being from Canada (he's actually from Alaska). Also, Matt Frewer and Saul Rubinek are in episodes. 2/10
Deep Space Nine - I was going to rate this one pretty low since it has pretty much only Nicole deBoer and that one scene where Eddington mentions having a "lucky loonie" to go on, but then I realised that the series was literally premised on a brutal colonial project aimed at mineral extraction, and that's like...the *most* Canadian thing. 7/10
Voyager - WTH is this? No Canadians; nothing particularly Canadian. 0/10
Enterprise - Hoshi Sato wants to take leave in Canada after getting tortured with heat. 1/10
Discovery - Points for being filmed in Canada, and most of the extras and personality-less bridge bunnies being played by Canadians (though points off because the one Discovery novel that I've read keeps emphasizing that Detmer, who has the most personality out of all of them, is from Düsseldorf). Callum Keith Rennie's in the last season. 4/10
Picard - um...Alison Pill is there! 1/10
Lower Decks - Let's see...two of the ships have been named the Vancouver and the Toronto. The plot with Barb Brinson is riffing on having an imaginary girlfriend in Canada (one of our most famous exports). Also, I know this isn't canon, but the comics are done by Ryan North, which has to count for something. 4/10
Prodigy - Man, this series doesn't even air in Canada! -1/10
Strange New Worlds - Filmed in Toronto: actually *set* in Toronto in one episode; retroactively makes Khan Canadian (Khanadian?) which...sure. I'll accept that. Points for casting Edmonton's Bruce Horak as Hemmer, who comes from an ice planet and, as an Aenar, has a generally laid-back, pacifistic attitude towards life (which I think is how a lot of Canadians like to think of themselves); points off for killing him off 9 episodes into the first season. 9/10

WIP Word Game
Rules: you will be given a word. share one sentence/excerpt from your wip(s) that start with each letter of that word.
I was tagged by @yesdangerpls with the word UPDATE. This was so hard to do omg.
U - Untilted
Under him you felt at home. Under him you felt better than ever.
P - Best. Night. Ever.
“Please…” Is all you could say before someone else’s dick was inside of you and you were being pounded into oblivion, a new cock being rubbed over your messy face as someone pinched your clit almost painfully.
D - Untilted
“Don’t,” he warned, motioning for me to turn around. "If you are going to wear slutty clothes, I will have to make sure how slutty you really are," he told you as he slowly lowered your dress to the ground. You had only a thin thong under it, leaving you vulnerable in front of him.
A - Untilted
“Ah,” he groaned. “Just keep reading, my love, I just need you so much" You ignore him as he takes down your panties and starts applying some lube, getting you wet for him as you keep reading your book.
T - The star of the day
The packge laveled "star of the day" looked exactly right. You clicked before you could overthink it, more than ready to be exposed and fucked by a bunch of stranger monsters.
E - Ab-sew-lutely (part 1)
“Excuse me, what?” You asked, not understanding what he just said.

No pressure tagging: @ozzgin @dragonsholygrail @bunnis-monsters @monster-mansion @dark-moonlust and @specsthesecond your word is THEME.

Whit the occasion of the newest Helluva boss episode, i thought it will be the perfect time to introduce my new sinner boy Lavelle :3 So funny story. i had a dream, and this adorable lavender grey puffball just appeared and it stuck to me. I freaking love the bat and fox them along whit the vampire attire and the hearshape chest fluff ^w^
At the moment i don't have much going on in terms of lore but i can note down some main key features about him.
He died by decapitation, after messing around in a torture museum while drunk.
He LOVES drinking so he made his own brewery.
His Romanian (fun fact, he is my second only character that has the same country origins as mine XD)
He has vitiligo (another fun fact he is the first and only of my OCs to have it)
His main outfit is inspired by a vampire's cape and a bunny girl suit.

My sister and I went to the game today! Really humid weather but Red Bull Arena was awesome. No pics to share but a few things:
- Rose and Sonnett were on the scoreboard screen post match for like 30 seconds and they did their little wave gag (Sonnett gave Rose bunny ears, if you care)
- There were SO many Lavelle jerseys, like bias aside that was the most frequent jersey I saw. Shoutout to the Hal Hershfelt jersey wearers as well, wasn’t expecting that lol
- Not trying to stir the pot here but KA got boo’d louder than the ref. Like idk if the broadcast picked it up but I can confirm that the booing is real

i think you've answered this before so apologies for repeating, but i was wondering if you could recommend some good woso podcasts? preferably european leagues, also is the offside rule still going?
Apologies for the delay!
These are all podcasts I listen to and recommend, I'm sure there are plenty I've missed though so feel free to send in recommendations!
Weekly discussion/analysis of the FAWSL/UWCL/Lionesses:
Two Girls Talk Balls - "An Alternative Take on Women's Football - Charlotte and Tamsin bring a refreshing voice with debate, banter and highlights from women's football." Mainly focus on the FAWSL and the Lionesses. Absolutely hilarious most of the time and definitely tell it how it is - their recent sections on Gareth Taylor are particularly funny!
The Offside Rule WSL Podcast is now under the Athletic so has been renamed The Athletic Women's Football Podcast but is still hosted by the same people and is still available for free on Spotify etc - "Join Kait Borsay, Lynsey Hooper, and a host of guests are here to take you through the WSL and beyond". One of my favourites, entertaining, informative and often have players/former players/managers on to discuss games.
Box to Box WSL - "Chats about everything FA WSL, Women’s Champions League and women’s football filled with analysis, debate and banter. Featuring Alexandra Ibaceta, Jessy Parker Humphrys, Abdullah Abdullah and guests." I've only recently started listening to this podcast but I've really enjoyed it so far. Some in depth discussion/analysis and tend to have quite varied viewpoints as they're not all English and also bring on guests from other countries as well for the UWCL episodes.
Women's Football Weekly - Talksport radio show on Monday nights which is then available as a podcast. Usually hosted by Faye Carruthers but she's on maternity leave so currently hosted by Shebahn Aherne. Tend to have guests on from around the WSL - players/journos/managers.
Podcasts more focused on interviewing/chatting to individual players (most are less regular than those above):
What The Football? - "In depth and candid conversations with professional women's footballers from the Championship and WSL leagues. Discussing their careers, clubs highlights and lowlights." Hosted by Shebahn Aherne (Ruesha Littlejohn's sister), a lot of the guests know her so are relaxed and possibly more open than they would be with other interviewers. Some of the guests so far have been Katie McCabe, Lisa Evans & Vivianne Miedema, Emma Mitchell, Fara Williams, Kim Little, Alisha Lehmann, and Jen Beattie.
Girls With Balls - "This is a podcast about brave women. Women who dare to follow their dreams, both on the field and off. This is a forum for sharing stories, comparing battle scars, and celebrating achievements. This is your chance to get to know the inspirational figures who are out there changing the game. So if you don’t believe in girl power, or think that running like a girl is a bad thing, this podcast is not for you." Hosted by Ali Riley (New Zealand Captain & Orlando Pride) - again it tends to be players who she knows personally so they're more relaxed and open. She hasn't released a new episode for a while but guests so far have included Caroline Seger, Fran Kirby, Sam Mewis, Magdalena Eriksson & Pernille Harder, Stephanie Labbe, and Anja Mittag.
The Players. - "Bex Smith flips the script on women's football, speaking to some of the biggest names in the game. Brought to you by BBC Sport and Copa90." Former New Zealand Captain and veteran of the WPS/Frauen-Bundesliga/Damallsvenskan Bex Smith hosts two guests each episode for a wide ranging discussion on women's football. Episodes so far have included: Vivianne Miedema & Kelly Smith, Emma Hayes & Pia Sundhage, Cedella Marley & Khadija "Bunny" Shaw, Leah Williamson & Jen Beattie, and Sam Mewis & Rose Lavelle.
Behind the Goals - "Join Leanne Crichton & Rachel Corsie in their new show. The duo discuss all aspects of life, they give an incredibly honest and insightful look into their own personal sporting journeys. Joining them, are a long list of incredible guests who share their own stories, and lots lots more." Mainly Scottish guests so far - players past and present including Lisa Evans, Claire Emslie, Erin Cuthbert, Caroline Weir, Jen Beattie, and Julie Fleeting.

Gareth Taylor continuing to be an absolute A grade plonker. He's incapable of making in game changes to his tactics. Just the same plan over and over even when its not working. Also he's going to waste Bunny Shaw the same way he wasted Lavelle. City needed players or to play in a way that would draw Spurs out of their shape a it stood Spurs played to their strengths and City were just so lacklustre.
I was making tea so I missed most of his interview, what did he say this time?

Could the USWNT beat Thanos (With the Infinity Stones)
Becky: Absolutely. No match. She'd beat his ass ten ways to Sunday.
Alex Morgan: Is about to be annhiliated but Kelley jumps in and saves her
Pinoe: Wouldn't physically fight him, just start a revolution to urge him to give her the stones. It would work. Wonderfully. She uses them for good.
Rose Lavelle: Gets beaten almost immediately.
Emily Sonnett: Challenges him to a dance off and wins, but he doesn't give her the gauntlet and beats her anyways.
Kelley: Would beat him, but, accidentally. She was trying to be super intimidating, Thanos was starting to buy it. She tries to cut off the gauntlet hand, but miscalculates and straight up decapitates him.
Tierna: Thanos surrenders before they even fight. He knows better.
Christen Press: Doesn't even try to fight him. Just convinces Thanos that it makes so much more sense to double the Universe's resources. Thanos agrees and feels like an idiot for not realizing this sooner.
Tobin Heath: Teaches Thanos about inner peace and helps him overcome the trauma that led him to want to use the stones in the first place
Crystal Dunn: Levels Thanos with a look that you give a small child who is misbehaving. He looks ashamed and hands over the gauntlet
Sam Mewis: Acts out that sketch about Bugs Bunny beating Thanos. He's so confused that he just gives up
Mal Pugh: Refused to fight Thanos. She figured that this is literally the Avengers job and there's no reason for her to do it.
AK: Collected the gauntlet and the stones years before Thanos did, cause she knew it Would be a problem if he got them all
Ash: Didn't fight Thanos herself, but put the fight on her insta story so all of us could watch.
Carli: Broke a hip trying to fight him. He crushed her without breaking a sweat, cause she had a broken hip
Lindsay Horan: Bicycle kicked the gauntlet right off his hand

And alike admitting Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson‘s cyclone assurance had so abounding bodies acclaim for them, abiding reminders of your ex are never a acceptable attending — abnormally back they’re on your skin. So, while every abandoning of their accord pains me greatly, I can’t accusation a gal for not absent to be reminded of her ex-fiancé every time she looks bottomward at her larboard hand.

Hidden Fire Dangers in Your Home
In the U.S., fire departments respond to one fire every 88 seconds, according to the National Fire Protection Association. Cooking is the most common cause of home fires and smoking is the leading cause of home fire deaths. But there are many other ways that you could inadvertently start a fire. These are some of the hidden fire sources in your home.
Don’t store batteries near metal. Image: Mariva2017/Shutterstock
Batteries
All batteries pose a fire risk, even those with a weak charge, according to Craig Gjelsten, VP of Operations at Rainbow International, which restores damage caused by fire, water and mold. Gjelsten says that 9-volt batteries are the biggest fire culprit. Since their terminals are in close proximity, they can easily short. “I recommend a battery storage case or just leave batteries in their original packaging instead of lying around loose.”
Gjelsten also recommends storing batteries standing upright and placing electrical tape over the ends of each battery — regardless of the battery type. Other tips include not storing batteries in metal containers or placing them near keys, steel wool or other metal objects. “Also, be sure to store 9-volt batteries separately,” Gjelsten says.

Damaged electrical equipment and dust bunnies
If your electrical equipment is damaged, it can easily overheat and result in a fire, according to Tom Wallace, a Certified Master Inspector at Home Check Inspections in Riverview, FL. “It is important to regularly inspect the electrical equipment in your home for damaged or frayed cords and plugs,” Wallace advises.
You may be thinking that you’d know if you had damaged or frayed cords and plugs. But that’s not necessarily the case. “Power or extension cords hidden behind a bed or table that are repeatedly knocked against can become worn out,” explains Bill Timmons, Marketing Manager of Residential Products at Legrand. He also warns against walking over cords — for example, under carpets or on your hardwood floors — since this can also result in damage.
And don’t forget the dreaded dust bunnies. When they form around electronics, sockets and heaters, Gjelsten says they can ignite and start a fire. “Regularly vacuum dust near outlets, wires and appliances, including crevices and areas behind furniture,” he says.
Turn off your coffee maker when it’s not being used. Image: John Kasawa/Shutterstock
Coffee makers
“Your coffee pot could overheat and start a fire,” says Battalion Chief Raymond Williams of the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department in Birmingham, AL. He says coffee pots with plastic components can get too hot if you forget to turn them off. Although most coffee pots with digital clocks have an automatic two-hour shut off, that’s still plenty of time for them to overheat. Also, several years ago, Kenmore recalled 145,000 coffee makers due to faulty wiring. So, to be on the safe side, don’t leave your coffee maker unattended and manually turn it off when you’re not using it.
Use care with flammable liquids. Image: Elder von Rabenstein/Shutterstock
Flammable liquids
It’s probably no surprise that gasoline or kerosene can inadvertently start a fire. “These flammable items should be stored away from heat sources in appropriate containers,“ says Wallace. “The containers should be labeled and easily identifiable.”
However, there are other flammable liquids that can also start a fire. For example, a woman in Texas opened a bottle of nail polish remover and left it near a candle in an unventilated room. The bottle ignited and she suffered third-degree burns.
Keep laptops off of soft surfaces. Image: Twin Design/Shutterstock
Laptops
If you’ve ever held your laptop in your lap for an extended period of time, you know it can get very hot. However, you might not have known that it can actually catch on fire. “Laptops can get pretty hot during normal operation. When placed on a blanket or similar surface, the batteries can overheat and cause a house fire,” Gjelsten says. He warns against leaving your laptop on any type of soft surface. If you don’t have a home office or desk, consider using a laptop stand.
Use the proper wattage for your light fixture. Image: Darin Echelberger/Shutterstock
Light bulbs
Are you familiar with the term “overlamping”? It occurs when the light bulb wattage is too high for the lamp, and Gjelsten warns that overlamping can start a home fire. For example, if you use a 75-watt bulb in a 40-watt lamp, you’re overlamping.
“If the fixture is unmarked, stay under 60 watts to be safe,” Gjelsten says. He also advises caution with compact fluorescent lights (CFLs). “Avoid using CFLs when the base of the bulb is enclosed by the fixture, such as with track and recessed lighting,” he says. “If your CFLs are burning out early and they’re brown at the base when removed, the bulbs are overheating.” Gjelsten recommends a cooler option, like LED.
Perform preventive maintenance on your dryer. Image: Good moments/Shutterstock
Dryer vents
While you’re sprucing up your laundry room, don’t forget to clean your dryer vent on a regular basis. You should empty the dryer lint screen before every load, according to Dave Lavalle, Founder of Dryer Vent Wizard. “While the dryer vent and duct system carries the air and lint outdoors, some of it gets trapped in the lint screen,” he explains. And since lint is very combustible, he says the screen should be emptied before every load. “Also, on a quarterly basis, clean the lint screen in soapy water,” he adds. That’s because detergent, fabric softener and other materials can build up and create a transparent film.
In addition, you need to check the vent cover on the home’s exterior to ensure that there’s no mulch or bird/rodent nesting materials. “Lastly, check the flexible tube-shaped transition duct that connects the dryer and the duct,” Lavelle says. Every other month, he recommends checking behind the dryer to ensure the transition duct hasn’t been crushed or broken.
Don’t let paper pile up. Image: Nongnuch L/Shutterstock
Other hidden fire sources
Gjelsten also warns that if you leave stacks of newspapers and magazines too close to a heat source, they can ignite. “And if you use heating blankets and pads, do not place the cord between the mattress and box spring,” he adds. Gjelsten also advises against using these heating items on anything but the lowest setting.
“Also, throwing that unused bag of charcoal in the closest storage closet is never a good idea.” He says that damp coal can ignite and start a serious fire. Instead, Gjelsten recommends storing the bag in a metal pail or garbage can with a tightly closed lid.
