Things in this town are loath to change. The cycle of banality begins anew every day, as soon as the sun crosses the horizon's threshold. Days and days of washed-out faces in the town square, murky children in the park.

And yet.

And yet there's a palpable sense of difference in the air that creeps under your skin and makes a home between your bones one fateful day. Nothing looks different, but they're all somehow... wrong. A body too big for the skin draped over it, an archaic pattern in the sand that gets washed away by the tides before you can get a good look at it.

It is time to come home to your mother.
