Christ can everyone just take a step back and stop circlejerking hate on bungie? Yes, a lot of good talent was laid off. Yes, the higher ups are to blame. But GOD if it doesn't sound like the average reddit thread everywhere. I'm tired of the game and the bullshit too. I considered quitting the game entirely during Lightfall. But im still here because I'm choosing to believe in one last hurrah. One last ride into the dark abyss. I've been playing since Forsaken. I remember all the FOMO and the poor choices. I remember Shadowkeep's 3 hour campaign. But I stayed.
Give them one last chance. You really want to tell the CEO to suck it? Don't buy Final Shape. Don't buy the new Eververse stuff with Silver. Don't buy the event upgrade passes.
Your wallet speaks louder than the negativity echo chamber that exists.

bc I can feel it in my bones that even though I haven't seen it yet, it's happening somewhere and it's gonna get worse.
Can we all agree as a community to do a few things while we get more information trickling in about the layoffs:
We will not bully the devs that are still on staff at bungie. It was the CEO's/the higher ups decision to do mass layoffs. It is not the fault of the remaining developers for who says/who goes. They are people just trying to do their job please be kind to them
We will not bully/harass the people who still want to play the game. This is a game that means a whole lot to a lot of folks, and we shouldn't shame them for continuing to play. There has been no official boycott/protest made (at least from what I've seen as of 11/1/23) by developers or unions to protest the destiny franchise. If you choose to refund your preorders or stop playing that's a-okay. It's your choice to do so, there's no shame in that. Just be mindful that not everyone is ready to drop a game they've put months of their lives into enjoying.
We will support the developers in giving them proper, constructive feedback and stop cycling the "this game is officially dead" mindset. For months we've had a hate train of people shitting on the game and it's lead us to this point. I won't say it's directly responsible for the layoffs, but from what we've been shown the current community sentiment definitely was a part of the decisions. There are issues with the game, yes, but there's a difference between spouting every single thing you dislike about destiny and giving feedback on how you want to see changes be made to bad/disliked systems.
just,, fuckin be kind to each other y'all. We'll never have all the answers as to how and what caused us to get to this point, only theories. Play the game if you want to, don't if you don't. If you're tired of playing, take a break. I know things suck right now but sometimes walking away is the best option.

No I’m not accusing either of the two of plagiarism.
Far from it.
I assure you.
I just found the similarities to be interesting.
Rogue One and Halo: Reach have a LOT of surprise similarities.
Both stories are VERY dear to me!

Guardian, looking at the Patheon Challenge flyers: That can't be too horrible.
Ghost, looking over it: You do realize those are almost all midteir Raid Bosses. One I remember gave you and your team enough trouble to make you guys have to camp and try again the next day.
Guardian, already calling up the team: Oh come on, it can't be that bad!

SAME BRAINCELL 🤝 honestly I feel bad for Cayde in that regard. Dude needs to not mask so dang much. :( (telestoapologist)
GOD YES. He really built a ton of layers over the years in order to cover up how sad and miserable he always was, so much that he can't even let go of them when facing death. I did notice, though, that he seems to be much more serious in all the scenes of him we've seen so far in trailer and cutscenes; yes, he did crack a joke in the season finale, but it still felt different, less flashy. I love him and his personality but it's definitely super intriguing to see him actually getting serious now that shit's getting real.

"It's like.....a strange sense of Deja Vu"
My mod, "To Where And Back Again", that ports the Marathon Infinity textures and a few areas to Halo CE is almost done! All that's left is finalize some things and make a trailer.

my household got one of the randomly assigned transportation surveys and this is a minor thing to be :) about but with all The Other Shit going on in the world, it's nice to see the ontario government not only keeping this up, but having really good phrasing :')

i think one of the things that makes echoes so great is also its biggest detriment and that is it builds off of two important storylines that ARENT IN THE GAME AMYMORE. season of dawn and splicer both are mentioned directly in act 1 of episode 1 and there’s gotta be so many people that just haven’t played for that long; dawn was like fucking 5 years ago. let alone splicer is essentially a kind of origin story for the conductor because of who she is and that ALSO not in the game; probably like 4 years old by now. and i love the concepts that echos brings and all the things it plays with but i cannot look hopefully into destiny’s future knowing that there are people that simply will not be able to experience those important story beats that lead us to where we are. bungie has done a lot to lower the bar for entering players; next they need to reintroduce all of the cut story content for new and old players alike (considering we bought the season, let us keep the storyline!!)
also we have a lot of buildup to mayas confrontation at the end of act 3 and nothing happens and it’s a little disappointing and anticlimactic

halo is weird.
Because it was made in a time that was even more rife with bigotry in the industry, many of the themes of the series are pretty fucking cringe in retrospect. Like with all the millitary bootlicking and stuff, not to mention the undertones with the covenant.
But now the series is trying to be more progressive and inclusive. The original creator of halo has turned around seemingly now being one of the more genuinely progressive and caring AAA game devs when it comes to real world problems.
But even then, halo still censors words like ACAB, it still makes super obvious mistakes when it comes to respecting people of colour.
There was a whole debale where the game hopefully accidentally called black people monkeys.
But like, it's a huge universe that by now is also about interspecies collaboration and about not repeating the mistakes of the past. But the community is filled with the most rancid people I've ever come across.
Pretty much all good guys in the series would be horrified by the views of the halo community at large.
Pretty much every single content creator was vocally against blm during the George Floyd protests, and it still disgusts me and shocks me to this day.
I love the games don't get me wrong, but god I cannot stand the community.
