Say hello to Sylvester and Amara Ember! Parents to Gel and her siblings. Power couple Sylvester is a redesign of an old character, but Amara is new.

I had been struggling to design parents who made sense for the features that the kids have. And then i saw Sylvester, and he was perfect. He gives the fangs and tails [and forked tongue in Gel's case]. Amara gives the horns and hair [and some tail influence lol]

In the world of the comic these characters belong to, monsters of any type can have kids with monsters of any type but will typically look mostly like one parent with additional features from the other parent, in some rare cases the child may look like somethingnew entirely, the parents features mixing in an unexpected way. In this case, skeletons tend to have the strongest influence, as their forms can not really support most other features. It doesn't matter what the other monster is. The children will be mostly skeleton.

The case for most monsters at this point is none of them are a "pure" version of their subspecies [saying pure feels gross, but i can't think of a better word] having some mixed features built up over the generations. Amara is a mix between demon and dino/lizard monster. Sylvester is a skeleton and snake/naga. He's a unique case where there was enough latent influence built up from other monster types than just skeleton for him to have more pronounced secondary features. However, this is usually not likely to be passed down as it's rare to even happen in the first place.

Monsters that are "half mixes" [I'll think of a better term at some point] will typically only pass down one half of their genetics. Usually, what is typically the stronger influence. Some secondary traits may show, but it's typically mostly the main traits of just one monster type.

Not too much, based on her in-game model, but still she wouldn't be too skinny like most artists portray her. It's just my vision tho, I suppose
