Don't tell me your roommates forced you out of the actual master bedroom despite apparently taking on the bulk of the housework and the food bill? And while throwing away your shit?
We decided when we moved in together that they would get the master bedroom because they had (at the time) 2 elderly dogs and 2 cats, so they'd need the space. Plus they had a california king size bed and we just a had a queen. So it made sense to give us the room that had been intended for a kid.
It was a little cramped for us, but we used to share a 1 bedroom apartment.
What was upsetting was that the shared spaces (living room, kitchen, front room) were set up, decorated, furnished while I was at work and couldnt give my input. So a lot of my stuff has been shoved in the garage this whole time, but shed still go in there and rearrange things without telling us.
And she DID do chores. In fact, she would say that she was the ONLY one that did chores even if that's not entirely true. I mostly made dinner and did dishes, which I dont think she realized how much dishes they produced because I would clear the sink and then wake up the next morning to another sink full.
But she hated clutter, and I'm a little cluttered. Like I'd leave my notebook on the end table with a pen and shed call it a mess. And her solution to mess was to take the stuff tgat was mine and put it on a table where my other stuff was.
So I couldnt find a lot of stuff. Because it was in places that I had not put it.
When we were talking about living together, I told her from the start that I'm messy and people find it to be a deal breaker.
"Well, maybe you'll learn to tidy up," she said.
"And maybe you'll learn to let things go." She didnt like that answer.
So I knew from the start that there was going to be tension just from that.
But she'd get mad at me for not like... vacuuming the cat tree. But they're not my cats? Like shed get mad at us for not doing certain chores without telling us what those chores were or how often they needed done. Shed do them and complain that shes the only one that does them and if we tried to do them before she got to them shed say we did it wrong.
And somehow... somehow my books and pens and pencils were messes, but the cup of yogurt she left out for three days was not.
These are trauma responses. I'm being so kind. But a lot has happened in the past four years and I havent had energy to process it because I was too busy trying not to set off her moods.
So anyways, it's over now. We get the master bedroom and on monday we're going to get the heirloom furniture that Pock has had in storage but never had room for.

Becoming sustainable is a journey that takes a long time. You can not and will not change your lifestyle to fully sustainable in a month. Changing your entire lifestyle in a way that directly clashes with how society is currently functioning (consumerism/capitalism) is not as easy as the tiktokers doing partnerships with bamboo toothbrushes make you believe.
Start small. Repurpose things you already have, even if they aren’t recyclable. Scrape the last of your moisturizer into a tub if it won’t come out the bottle any more. Use the cut open bottle as a pin holder. Use old dvd cases as letter storage, for arts and crafts, to protect your post. Donate things you can’t reuse to your local charity shops or shelters.
You’re also inherently going to have to learn new skills. Learning to stitch clothing to repair clothes, and learning how to sew to re-use clothes that can’t be salvaged. Learning some basic carpentry and upholstery skills for furniture, learning how to compost properly, learning to cook in unusual ways like canning and bulk cooking, gardening and farming. You’ll need to learn how to navigate shopping sustainably by researching the brands you consume, the shops you buy at, the local economy.
There's also the emotional toll of it. Learning new skills and leading a sustainable lifestyle will be very rewarding and fulfilling, but the journey there will be difficult. Researching it all will likely depress you, you’ll come across how shit nestle is, how deep-rooted consumerism is, how it impacts the ocean and humanity. You’ll find there's almost nothing, no brand, no item, no store that hasn’t been touched by consumerism and problematic practices, and it will get absolutely exhausting. You’ll find YouTubers and bloggers who have been doing this longer than you and finally help you navigate everything, and then they’re a terf. It’s going to be a challenging journey.
You will also realize becoming fully 100% sustainable is impossible to you and gated to rich people. You will need to accept this. Not everyone has access to local shops that provide sustainable items, and online shipping itself is usually not eco-friendly. Having a pet might be a roadblock, unless you can build your own house it's probably not built sustainably, if you live with family or roommates they might dampen your lifestyle. You’ll learn that being sustainable isn’t going the whole solution to saving the planet. You cannot strive for perfection here, you can only make an effort.
But making the effort is the point. Living sustainably makes you part of a positive cycle that supports local businesses, promotes a healthier and more fulfilling life, helps your local ecosystem and community. That makes the effort worth it.

There was nothing in the galaxy except Sabine and the box in front of her.
It was wrapped securely, cardboard and tape around what Sabine knew was a sturdy wooden chest, her mother’s way to both send her treats and much-needed storage solutions. Utility blade in hand, Sabine pulled apart the layers of packaging until the wood revealed itself, carved carefully with ancient Krownestian symbols, so old they preceded even the arrival of native Mando’a to the planet. Sabine ran her fingers over the patterns, the tiny mistakes etched permanently into the wood. The box was beautifully made, its buckles and hinges gleaming as Sabine turned it over in her hands, but all over she saw, here and there, miniscule imperfections that were not the mark of Clan Wren’s gifted artisans. 
Finally opening the box, she lifted out the piece of folded flimsi on top, labeled with only her name in her mother’s calligraphy.

You are well-prepared for whatever material they may instruct you in, and your sharp mind will take care of the rest. Take care of your armor; do not let it dry out or let dust accumulate upon its surface, as this will scratch it. It is dishonorable to be seen in scratched armor.
As for Tristan and your father, they are both well. Tristan has begun preparations to swear the Creed. I am sure he will soon write to you with questions about the scripture. As his elder, it is your duty to guide and counsel him. Do not neglect in this duty despite the distance. Your father wished for me to tell you that he is working on a new series of “colorful landscapes”. I am sure there is a great lack of color there in Sundari.
I look forward to your return for the festival season. In the meantime, I hope the gift of this box and its contents will keep home close by.

Sabine traced the handwriting with her fingers, pretending the paper was still warm from her mother’s touch. There was a strange burning in her chest as she imagined Tristan sitting by Mother’s side, learning to recite the writings of their ancestors while she made Sabine this box, which was as meticulous and imperfect as Mother herself was. Setting the letter aside, she pulled the box into her lap and inspected the contents. There were sweets, of course: hand-shaped wheat candy and snowflake crisps that had likely been made in bulk for the Spring festival. There were also a stack of noodle packages she could cook in her nanowave oven. Beneath them was a small hand-bound book of poetry and a package of colored-ink styluses. Sabine lay it all out around her and frowned. For such a big box, there wasn’t much in it. She set the box down and laid her hand flat against the bottom. It seemed her hand stopped too early—to high above where the floor of the chest should have been. She rapped on it lightly with her knuckles, and it gave a distinctive hollow noise.
Only now did Sabine remember there was another universe around her. She checked that her dorm door was closed and the curtains pulled closed.
“Mother,” Sabine sighed, and grabbed her utility blade again, wiggling it between the wall and “bottom” of the chest until it lifted up. Beneath lay a set of powder packets and a thin bottle, labeled once more by her mother: Red dye. Yellow dye. Bleach. 
Grinning from ear to ear, she wiggled out the small piece of flimsi that lay beneath the gifts.

On the "Three Great Mysteries" of Pokemon.
"Welcome to the world of Pokemon. This world is inhabited by mysterious creatures called Pokemon."
These are some of the most well-known words in the world. Professor Oak began to use this as part of his introduction to new Trainers, and in respect to him, other Professors began to use similar variants on it themselves.
To many people, Pokemon are friends. To some, they are partners, or pets. Pokemon are our constant companions. Many people, then, begin to take their presence, and their abilities, for granted. We study them, we care for them- Almost all Trainers out there are given a Pokedex to further our understanding of Pokemon. Why, then, are they still called "mysterious"?
There are many, many things about Pokemon that no matter our study or research, reveal no results. They defy our understanding of physics, science, and logic. Of these, many of them are grouped under three main 'umbrellas', and these three categories are referred to as Pokemon's "Three Great Mysteries".
First Mystery: Mass and Weight
According to the Law of Conservation of Matter, matter cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one form to another. As long as something's mass remains the same, its weight should also remain the same- If you take a large amount of garbage, and then put it in a crusher, and compress it down, you have changed the size, but the weight remains as it was before.
However, Pokemon are seemingly immune to any proper understandings of mass. When they shrink down to enter a Pokeball, their weight similarly reduces- Or else no Trainer would be able to even lift their Pokeballs. Minimize is the same, of course. And similarly, when a Pokemon gets larger through the use of moves such as Bulk Up, they become heavier and sturdier.
It is also a commonly-known trivia factoid that Wailords are lighter than air. In fact, given their density, they should not be able to dive into the water, or even stop themselves from floating away in the wind. Yet this is demonstrably not the case. There were suspicions of a gas bladder that would allow them to control how heavy they were, but this has been ruled out. The only possible explanation is that Wailords have a different way, unknown to us, to control their weight.
Second Mystery: Energy and Storage
Hyper Beam is a highly destructive beam of an unknown form of energy that almost all Pokemon can learn to use. Where the energy is stored, and how it is acquired, is unknown. If food is broken down to be converted entirely to energy, that may offer some solutions, but Pokemon droppings would leave evidence of this, which.... is not the case.
Toxic is an extremely potent poison that ravages the body worse and worse over time. Almost every Pokemon is capable of using this move when taught by a Technical Machine- Even ones that do not have any glands or sacs for storing poison. Where the poison comes from is unknown. Attempts to view a Pokemon using this up close has generally gone poorly, on account of the extremely potent poison.
The amount of energy that would be needed for a Pokemon to convert to mass for the sake of evolution is.... absurd. And yet, we see evolution constantly. It is inarguably real. When a non-Pokemon animal does it, it takes anywhere between weeks and years to grow, and for much, much smaller changes than we see for Pokemon.
Where they get the energy from, where they store it, how they use it- None of it makes any sense.
Third Mystery: Extreme Adaptability
Evolution, in the non-Pokemon sense, is a process that takes thousands of years if not longer. Little mutations happen in a species constantly. When a mutation is beneficial, it is passed down, and becomes a dominant trait of that species. When it is harmful, it is not passed down. For a trait to become a major trait shared by a whole species, it takes many thousands of generations.
Furthermore, such mutations are not in response to their environment. They simply happen regardless, and the ones that are beneficial remain, leading to an illusion that it occurred in response to the environment.
Pokemon are not beholden to these rules.
Changes in their environment cause a sudden metamorphosis we know as evolution. Furthermore, Pokemon change to new environments incredibly quickly- "Regional variants", as they're called, often need only a few generations to establish themselves. Despite this, when they fit their environment- When there is no pressure to change- their rate of mutation is on par with any other species of animal, or only slightly more.
Eevee in particular is susceptible to changing in response to anything in its environment. This was originally called "unstable DNA", but further research has settled onto the term "malleable biology". While Eevee is an extreme example, all Pokemon have it to some degree.
A common example is Scyther- The old Kleavor has been lost in favor of Scizor... in the span of roughly 150 years. Less, even. This is far, far too fast.
And once again, the mechanism for this- How a Pokemon's very biology and genes can tell the need to adapt, and do so, how they change, how they react to the environment so quickly and accurately- is all unknown.
Pokemon are our friends. Our companions. Our partners. When we love a Pokemon, they love us in return.
But do not forget. They are mysterious. Though we express our love in trying to understand them, they do still defy our understanding in almost every way.
