New Pokemon: Spitillar, Orcoon, Drorchid

Pokemon researcher and artist, stARTboi on Inksaygram, has discovered a 3 potential new pokemon, all from the same line! Their names are Spititillar, Orcoon, and Drorchid!

Spitillar

Spitillar is known as "The Cradle Flower Pokemon," and is a pure bug type. When eggs, their mothers will hide them in flowers where they will be fed until they evolve. They're very popular in the fashion industry, and a lot of trainers use them as inspirations for clothes.

They're really small, only being about 8 centimeters. Their abilities are either Flower Veil or Honey Gather.

Orcoon

Orcoon is the evolution of Spitillar and is also known as "The Cradle Flower Pokemon." They're pure bug types as well.

Once Spitillar evolves, they are trapped by the petals of the flower they held. They don't do much, preferring to sleep all day and gather sunlight. They know when they're ready to evolve when their flower blooms. Their abilities are either Flower veil or Shield dust.

Drorchid

The final stage! Drorchid is a Bug/Dragon type and is known as "The Blooming Pokemon." Drorchid is bigger than its pre-evolutions, being about 3'1.

Once Orcoon's cocoon is finally open, it becomes the majestic Drorchid. Drorchid love to eat old clothes, and they love making things out of them coats for their young to wear as well. They are commonly used by people in the fashion industry for their beautiful appearance, ability to make clothes, and caring and calm nature.

I think this pokemon is very pretty, and even if it isn't proven real by researchers yet, I'm glad this researcher found it.

Ooc: I've seen a lot of people mention how it looks like Valerie. The guy who designed it said that he got inspiration from Valerie since he thought it'd be neat to see a pokemon that resembles her

Squirmeon (Bug/Ground)

#??? - On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. Eevee who spend much of their time underground, searching for bugs and earth to eat, may evolve into the Bug/Ground-type Squirmeon. Excellent diggers and burrowers, these Eeveelutions travel where ever soil is moist and laden in minerals. When they move on to a new area, they leave behind enriched soil and a labrinth of tunnels that other Pokemon like to inhabit. Squirmeon spend the majority of their time underground, resulting in poor eyesight; however, their highly sensitive skin detects even the slightest ground vibrations, enabling them to navigate without issue. To stay healthy, they must keep their skin's thin film moist; if it dries out, they become unwell and must burrow back into the earth. Their diet consists mostly of soil and decayed vegetation. They will store nutrients and minerals in the rubbery sections of their tail and body, which they can draw upon in times of need. Though these easygoing Pokémon make excellent companions, Squirmeon are hard to find due to their underground lifestyle. Trainers who aim to evolve their Eevee into this Bug/Ground-type must encourage their Eevee to dig and consume mineral-rich soil.

Finally Finished the PARALOUSE line, even expanded it a little

Im trying a new format here, do you like it this way or do you prefer the old one?

Like this, without the Dex information in the pic (Shiny versions as example)

PARALOUSE is based on the tongue-eating louse (Cymothoa exigua) who gets inside the mouth of fish and replaces their tongues

PARALOUSE can evolve by taking over one of 2 pokemon, either SQUAKER, a parrotfish pokemon, or AGUAVEILA, a jellyfish pokemon

SQUAKER is based on the Steephead Parrotfish, its regular colors are based on the Scarlet Macaw and its shiny colors are based on the Galah Cockatoo

AGUAVEILA is based on the Deepstaria Enigmatica, a type of jellyfish known to form simbiotic relationships with a type of isopod

When paired with SQUAKER, PARALAOUSE will evolve into PARASCYLLA, this pokemon is based on mermaids and the greek monster Scylla, a creature with the upper body of a woman but a lower body comprised of heads and tails

If paired with AGUAVEILA, PARALOUSE will evolve into PARANYGMA, this pokemon is based in many legends of ghost brides who died at sea

SQUAQUER alone evolves into PARROTEER, they are PARASCYLLA's natura predator and are based on the Humphead Parrotfish mixed with pirates, its regular colors are based on the Dracula Parrot while its shiny colors are based on the Blue and Gold Macaw

AGUAVEILA alone evolves into AEROVELLA, this pokemon is based on the Atmospheric Jellyfish, a type of cryptid

New Pokemon: Pipeye & Dipsco

Pokemon artist and researcher, @palossssssand , has discovered two potentially new pokemon, which he calls Pipeye and Dipsco!

Pipeye

Pipeye is a Bug type. They're very small, only being about 5-6 inches tall. They're not that strong and are targeted by predators often, so they ended up becoming nocturnal to combat that. They never developed great night vision, so they developed glowing eyes, using the same technique that Volbeet and Illumise use. (They're like little flashlights, and that's adorable). They mostly eat dried leaves and small shrubs on the ground.

Dipsco

Dipsco is the evolved form of Pipeye. It becomes larger, about 2 feet tall, and their eye has grown to take up most of their head. They have also gained psychic powers which helps keep them in the air since their wings are too small to keep them up. They psychic powers come from both of their eyes and brain (eyes are the windows to the soul and all of that cool stuff). I have a theory that these pokemon are either related to Orbeetle or Volbeet/Illumise, but I can't really confirm anything. These pokemon will create light shows from their head to scare off predators and to communicate.

My entry to The Aussie Artist's 30K followers contest over on instagram, to create a Convergent or Regional form changing the pokemon types according to this format

I choose to change the TYRANITAR's line Rock type for Bug

Changing TYRANITAR's line from Rock to Bug was kind of an obvious choice since both LARVITAR and PUPITAR already had "Larvae" and "Pupa" in their names, the only challenge was to turn TYRANITAR itself into a bug

LARVITAR (Bug/Ground) is based on a Thorn Bug, I choose this due to their similar looking bodies and colors,

PUPITAR (Bug/Ground) is not really based in any particular cocoon or pupa, even tho there are several species with spiky cocoons out there

KATYRANITAR (Bug/Dark) s the regional evolution of this line, it is based on the Armored Katydid or Armored Bush Cricket, a type of giant predator katydid from Africa. This bug fitted TYRANITAR perfectly as it is the "armor pokemon".

KATYRANITAR legs are actually really long but remain folded most of the time. Due to its large size, hoping would be too hard, so they only use them in very specific situations, like pouncing over a prey from a long distance, or getting away quickly from a fight with a larger member of their species, as they are cannibals.

New vs Old

It's been a while, mostly because I got pulled into a whole other hyperfixation! But ironically doing art and fics for that has helped my burnout for this one.

Starting off there'll be some soft reboots of Pokemon designs! Because I! Have perfection issues and often don't feel completely satisfied with my designs.

But on the other hand as I improve, going back and Tweaking previous designs and spicing them up with features I didn't originally think about is quite enjoyable.

This Post will compile some of these different designs going from old to new Because it's fun to see the Progression!
