Taxidermy bug art by me

Went to an estate sale today and found an entire case of taxidermy bugs. The woman told me her mother was a middle school science teacher. Who would take the science kids to competitions for entomology. When she passed the woman wanted had to sell her collection.

I bought all the bugs and her collection. Here is the first artwork I made from some of the beetles. I have dragonflies, mosquitoes, butterflies, and moths.

Haven’t posted any of my own work in a while, because I haven’t been motivated to work on anything (yay depression!). Here is my first attempt at a display like this - struggling a little with it.

It’s not completely done but I’m happy with how it’s looking so far! Mostly I just need to fix placement for a few parts.

(not including my wet specimens)

instead of waiting to find the perfect shadow boxes I'm creating my own and i can't wait to show them off

A question for my followers, if you had some disposable income and wanted to buy art where would you go looking? I've been thinking about selling on etsy again. I don't even care about making a profit, I just want to get this shit out of my house and maybe break even.

Which brings me to my next question of, would you be willing to spend, say $25 on this or would that be considered too much? (The cost of the materials are about $18, plus the cost of shipping supplies and listing fees ect. $25 would have to be the minimum for me to break even.)

I feel like I'm asking too much for something no one would want to buy. I don't fucking know. I'm gonna add actual tags to this, so hopefully someone will respond. Thanks.
