Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Bees and beetles are both cool, but the bee beetle has the best of both worlds! This species is named for its fuzzy thorax, and bright black and yellow abdomen. The resemblance to a bumblebee deters predators, which is handy since the bee beetle doesn't actually have a stinger.

Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
With Chrysina limbata around, you won’t need a mirror! This species has an especially shiny exoskeleton, reflecting up to 97% of the light that hits it. In the wild, the mirror-like reflective surface may fool potential predators into thinking the beetle is just a drop of water- effectively serving as conspicuous camouflage.

Tropinota squalida is a very hairy chafer that looks like you took a much more standard chafer and glued a bunch of hairs to it to create a bad lion costume. i only ever see one or two of these guys a year but they're always a welcome sight, they're not very large but they are conspicuous (the best trait a bug can have)
