Had a lot of fun last night at Buffyfest by the Florida Bjorkestra!!! They played music from The Bronze and did Once More, With Feeling. The theme song was so on point and really all the music was amazing. Plus, Clem was there and it was cool to meet James C. Leary. They had an area called The Magic Box where some people were selling art and jewelry, which is where I got the print of the Scooby Gang from “I’ve Got a Feeling”. And the theater was called The Bronze and there was a good number of people who cosplayed. It was just a really cool experience and I hope they consider doing it again.

Best. Day. Ever. Such a fun event! Got to relive some of the best music from the show with a full orchestra, including the entirety of “Once More With Feeling”. And I met Clem! <3

Wading through the mud to the truth: is this reboot actually happening and if so, what do we know so far?

So, the other day, my whole world exploded when I received an email notification of a blog post from <a =”http://buffyfest.blogspot.com/2018/07/buffy-vampire-slayer-is-getting-reboot.html”>Buffyfest</a>. According to their people, a reboot was actually happening. No this was not a drill. So what did I do? I took a deep breath and got on the internet, in desperate search for confirmation this.

People have been talking about a possible Buffy reboot for years, so I didn’t give it a  lot of thought until I saw the internet practically explode. I did some research and well ladies and gents, it appears this 

Is. 

Actually. 

Happening.

Initially, my response was that of “meh.” 

But a part of me really wants to be excited for this, so I’m choosing to be. Even if it’s bed, I’m sure I’ll have a lot to say. And if it’s good, I’ll and others will have lots to say.

I’ve been itching for inspiration for a new blog since I retired my old <a =”http://www.fuckyeahnewtwinpeaks.tumblr”>Twin Peaks blog</a>, and next to that, there is no show I love more and am more passionate about than Buffy. So here I am. Thanks for reading and sharing.

Note: A couple things to remember: this will be a spoiler free blog. Once the episodes start airing, we can re-evaluate this, but for the time being, this blog will focus on opinion, discussion, news and gossip. Please do not refer to spoilers in comments. I welcome submissions of any kind, except spoilers.

I will always try to only cite legitimate articles. I do apologize in advance if I share any information that ends up being incorrect later on. As we all know, sometimes determining fact from fiction is hard online, and with rumors of a reboot swirling around for eons, this may prove especially difficult. Please do alert me if I have posted anything you know to be incorrect so I can correct it.

So without further adieu, here is what we know so far:

1. The reboot is confirmed. Sort of? Apparently, 20th Century Fox announced at the San Diego Comicon this year on July 20, but I can’t find a video confirming this. Every blog and their mother have posted that there is a reboot in the works, but I can’t find any actual quotes from Joss or Co. regarding it. Most articles refer to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/buffy-vampire-slayer-reboot-inclusive-take-joss-whedon-works-1128888">this</a> article from The Hollywood Reporter, which cites vague “sources” for their facts. Hmm. I’m not impressed. I did find <a href=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2u2uDMHPSt8

“>this</a>. But again, I’d feel better if I saw a video of Joss actually saying the reboot is happening. Do you have one? If so, submit it please.

2. Joss will be executive producer. Again, I can not find an actual video of him saying this, but it is being reported.

3. No network or timeline for the series has been announced.

4. Monica Owusu-Breen <a href=”http://deadline.com/2018/07/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-series-reboot-in-works-black-lead-monica-owusu-breen-joss-whedon-1202430592/”>will run and write the new series.</a>

5. The actress cast to play Buffy will be black. At this point, it’s not even clear if this will be a remake or sequel. Will this be a televised version of the comics? Because as we all know, the story is lives on in those. Or will this be a remake of the high school years? It remains to be seen. There are so many questions and so few answers. 

6. People have a lot of feelings about this and rightly so.  Because of <z href=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r42VPU_hQcA”>reasons</a> and other <a href=”https://www.themarysue.com/i-dont-want-a-black-buffy/
