DOSE AMSTRONG PALACE
Hi guys!
I am sharing the Dose Amstrong palace, a manor residence once located in the capital city of Argentina.
The palace is no longer with us, as it was demolished to build a multi-family edifice.
History: This house belonged to Dr. Carlos Dose's family and was located at the corner of Avenida Alvear and Ayacucho Street.
It was built by architects Jacques Dunant and Charles Paquín, the former also being the author of the Huetel estate, the Mercedes Cathedral, and the Carlos Malbrán Pavilion of the Bacteriological Institute of the City of Buenos Aires.
For more information on Dunant’s works, we recommend visiting the site of researcher Alejandro Machado: arquitectos-franceses-argentina.blogspot.com.ar.
The house, completed around 1890, was one of the first "grand residences" on Avenida Alvear. A magazine published in the 1920s described it as follows:
"One of the architectural beauties that adorn our city is the mansion of Mr. Alfredo Zemborain and his wife, Mrs. Justa Dose. It is a faithful small-scale replica of the Palace of Francis I, located a few kilometers from Paris. The interior design, of indisputable good taste, harmonizes with the construction of the house, as everything follows the French style. Furniture, paintings, silverware, bronzes, marble, and carved wood—all reveal art and wealth. The gardens provide a cheerful note, with their abundant trees, and the magnificence of the flowers gives the palace the beauty of every season."
However, the social magazines of the time, which did not specialize in architecture, were often full of inaccuracies, so they cannot be taken as a reliable source: the Dose family house was not a replica of a palace of Francis I, nor was everything about it French. The façades were inspired by the Louis XIII style, corresponding to the transition between the Renaissance and French Baroque, which, in one of its periods, is characterized by the combination and contrast of brick and stone on the façades.
For more history: find the spanish version here: https://miradaatenta.wordpress.com/2023/03/07/historia-de-la-avenida-alvear-el-palacio-dose/
https://arquitectos-franceses-argentina.blogspot.com/
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Style: Louis XIII eclectic
Date: 19th century
This house fits a 40X30 lot.
I only decorated some of the important rooms. All the rest of the house is up to your taste to decor.
Hope you like it.

The Sixth Pantheon of the Chacarita Cemetery, located in west Buenos Aires, was built during 1950-1958 and designed by one of the first female Argentine architects, Itala Fulvia Villa, a key figure in Argentina’s modernist architectural legacy and a member of the Grupo Austral.
For years the work was solely credited to Clorindo Testa, despite his more minor collaborative role in the project designing the concrete temple and the Torii-gate-style monuments scattered above ground.
The Pantheon is the first modernist work of its kind applied to the design of a cemetery on this scale, created to house 40,000 niches. A labyrinthine network of subterranean galleries and vaults is interconnected by a series of walkways, punctuated by open courtyards and patios characterised by hanging wall planters and vegetation. The result is an oasis of calm split over two levels below ground accessible by generous stairwells, all hidden from view from the landscaped garden above.

Today’s Doodle honors Indigenous Argentine human rights activist Amancay Diana Sacayán. On this day in 2012, Sacayán became the first Argentine trans woman to receive a national identity card affirming her gender. The Doodle artwork, illustrated by Buenos Aires-based guest artist Juan Dellacha, depicts Sacayán as a joyful activist whose persistence, in spite of all the violence she suffered throughout her whole life, left a huge legacy. A proud descendant of the Diaguita people, Sacayán was born in Tucumán, Argentina, on December 31, 1975. She and her 15 siblings moved to Buenos Aires, where she would spend most of her life. Sacayán enjoyed school until she was expelled as a result of coming out as transgender. She faced police persecution quickly and was arrested multiple times for her clothing choice and trans identity. Sacayán fought tirelessly for LGBTQ+ rights during her life. She was involved with many activist groups, notably a member of the National Front for the Gender Identity Law and a leader of the International Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Association. She founded the Movimiento Antidiscriminatorio de Liberación (Anti-Discriminatory Liberation Movement), which was dedicated to improving human rights for the queer community, focusing on inclusion within schools, workplaces, and hospitals. Today, because of her activism, trans people can have their name and gender respected when they access health care. 1% of public sector employees in Buenos Aires are in the trans community, thanks to the Trans Labor Quota Law that Sacayán promoted. This law was expanded to the national level in 2020, but tragically, Sacayán was not around to see it. She was killed in a hate crime in 2015, and her murderer is considered the first person in Argentina to be convicted of a hate crime against the trans community. Her resilience and accomplishments continue to inspire. She persuaded the public sector to include trans people, advocated for hospitals to use people's correct names, and set an example by being the first legally recognized trans person in her country. Thank you for dedicating your life to vastly improve trans rights, Amancay Diana Sacayán.

I am thrilled beyond words to see Diana Sacayán in a doodle. Witnessing her wisdom, kindness and activism was an honor and a privilege and she is missed every day. The artist also said something about her legacy that isn't mentioned enough: "Diana believed that the fight for LGBT+ rights also needed to have social, environmental, native and class consciousness too. It couldn’t be one without the other. I deeply agree with that and I think it’s very important to have that in mind, especially in the times we are living in." She truly lives on in the battles won and in the ones yet to win but the way in which she was taken so soon should not be forgotten.

Legacy of the May Revolution, Argentina: The May Revolution was a week-long series of revolutionary events that took place from May 18 to May 25, 1810, in Buenos Aires. It started the Argentine War of Independence, and it is considered the birth of modern Argentina. May 25 was designated as a patriotic date in 1813, but the Argentine Declaration of Independence provides an alternative national day. Because the date in May related to Buenos Aires and the date of July 9 related to the whole country. Wikipedia

Alfa Romeo and Juliet
Summary: Adriana Fangio is 23 years old, and is the youngest grandchild of the five time world champion, El Maestro, Juan-Manuel Fangio. She's been slowly working her way up through karting and single seaters her whole life, winning glory at home in Argentina since she was a kid. All in the hopes of getting that precious seat in her beloved abuelo's sport. So, when Formula 1 announce their eleventh team, everything changes for her.
In more ways than just one.
Previous: Legacies and Love Stories
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Argentina 2025 - Summer Break.
This feels weird, being still for three and a half weeks after so many of constant motion. Coming home to Buenos Aires feels so strange, she's not been home since February. It's been full steam ahead for months now. But, she's finally home, and she's not alone either. Felipe is still in bed, jet lagged from their flight out from Budapest on Sunday night. Adriana gets some omelettes going for breakfast. No one knows about them yet, that day in Spa is very much a secret still. She can feel her eldest brother's judgement already, not that she cares too much. While she's cooking, she hears Felipe getting out of the bathroom. Felipe joins her in the kitchen, dressed casually for the day. He wraps his arms around her waist, and kisses her cheek gently. ''Bom dia, Adri.''
Adriana plates up their breakfast, and says. ''Buen día, Feli.'' Felipe pours them some orange juice, and they sit down for breakfast. They discuss a beach day in Mar Azul just outside the city. ''It's not going to be full of paparazzi, is it?'' Felipe asks.
Adriana shakes her head, getting rid of her dishes. ''No, it's more private, mostly families go there. What do you say?''
Felipe says, wrapping his arms around her as she sits on his lap. ''I think I like your idea.''
They get ready to go to the beach, and jump in Adriana's new white Alfa Romeo car, they'll go to abuelo's grave tomorrow. The drive doesn't take too long, and is full of chatter. They arrive, and get changed. Adriana ties her wrap dress on over her dark blue bikini, and grabs her bag. ''Used to come here all the time with mama and papa.'' She says, taking Felipe's hand.
Felipe says, kissing her forehead. ''I can see why, it's beautiful here.'' They find a good spot, and get the sunscreen on. Then, they run into the water, it's warm and peaceful. They enjoy their time swimming, sticking by each other at all times. You'd never guess they were two famous racing drivers, today, they're a young couple enjoying time together. They get out of the water, and share a kiss as they walk back to their spot to dry off. ''Feli, are you happy with me?'' Adriana asks.
Felipe puts a hand on her thigh, and kisses her. ''Of course I am, Adri. It's him, isn't it? You're thinking about him?'' Adriana nods, running her hand up his arm. ''Sort of, I just... you make me so happy, and I don't want this to stop.'' Damian is one scar that won't fade, all that pain over a Formula Renault seat she beat him to nine years ago. Felipe assures her. ''I'm not him, I promise.'' She wraps her arms around him, and kisses him deeply. For once not caring who sees her do it.
They go and find some lunch, and go for a walk along the seafront, the pristine blue water lapping up at their feet as they walk the coast. Adriana slings her arm around Felipe's waist, he wraps his around her shoulders, and kisses her temple. This is who Adriana should have been with all along, and she'll always hate that Damian stole her first kiss from her, that kiss should have been for Felipe, not him. Looking up at her wonderful boyfriend, Adriana kisses his cheek, and says. ''I'm glad you're happy with me, Feli.''
Felipe kisses her again, something she'll probably never get used to. ''I'm glad you're happy with me too, Adri.'' This is a happiness she's not going to deny herself anymore.
#####
The following day, they go out to visit El Maestro's grave. Adriana has flowers for both him and abuela, Felipe has some Alfa Romeo hats. They place the trinkets at the headstones, simpler than one would expect them to be. ''We've made it, abuelo! We're doing so well!'' Adriana says.
Felipe says. ''I hope you're alright with your nieta dating a Brazilian, Señor y Señora Fangio.''
Adriana smiles, they are a bit of an odd couple in that way, but where's the issue with that? ''He is, Feli. They'd be more shocked that we're teammates and dating, actually.'' Abuela would also warn them of how much trouble they might get into for this, but she died two years after abuelo. ''A lot has changed since your day, Maestro.'' Felipe remarks.
They head home for some lunch, and get a movie on afterwards. Snuggling on the sofa together. They get a text from Fisichella, the one person they told about their summer plans, that some older Alfa Romeo cars are being shipped from Switzerland with their race gear. They're doing a media day at the Autodrome next week.
#####
Their media day comes soon, Adriana drives them down to the circuit, one that isn't on the calendar anymore, and hasn't been for decades. Maybe now there's two Argentine drivers, it's time to bring the racing back to Argentina? They park up, and get to their trailer to get readied for the day. Once in their racing gear, they go to their assigned cars. The 2021 and 2022 models of the Alfa Romeo. They're counted in, and cameras begin rolling. ''Hello, everyone, I'm Felipe Drugovich.'' Felipe begins them off.
Adriana says, smiling at him. ''And, I'm Adriana Fangio. And we're at Autodromo Buenos Aires today.''
Felipe says. ''We are going to be driving these cars around the track, the first Formula 1 drivers and cars to touch this track for decades.'' Their social media manager, Abigail, says. ''What you two are going to do is a sprint race, fifteen laps.''
They get ready, and get in the cars on the start line, the lights go out, and they take off around the track. Neck and neck the whole way. Felipe can't believe they don't race here every season, the track is perfect. Adriana just revels in being the second Fangio to drive here. They tick down the laps, and cross the line in a photo finish. They bail out at the same time. ''That was amazing, wow.'' Felipe says, putting his helmet down.
Adriana nods, pulling her gloves off. ''Yeah, can we add this to the calendar, please?''
Felipe says. ''Hopefully one day.'' They head to freshen up a bit, and do a short interview for the YouTube channel. Then, they're allowed to walk the track together. Able to feel abuelo with them here, even if they no longer get to race here properly.
#####
A few nights later, once the team personnel file out of the city, the couple can get back to being a couple again. Balancing this with work come Zandvoort is going to be a bitch, but they'll hopefully manage it without causing trouble. But, for tonight, they're dressed nice for a night out on the town, dinner and dancing. They get out into the beautiful evening, and drive to the restaurant. Some of Adriana's friends will be there too. They arrive, and find the group's table outside. Adriana smooths down her dress, and Felipe adjusts his blazer. They're not used to dressing up anymore, too long in team polos and racing suits. ''Adri, Feli! Good to see you!'' Lucia says, hugging them both.
Felipe says. ''Good to see you too, Lucia.'' The group order their drinks and meals, and eat while talking. ''When do you two head to the Netherlands?'' Benjamin asks.
Adriana checks her phone calendar. ''About eleven days now.'' Clara says. ''Can't wait for Interlagos, so we can see you both in person.''
Felipe smiles, and sips his drink. ''Shame we can't race there right away, I can't wait to finally race at home.''
Mateo finishes eating his meal, and says. ''Hope you two beat the Aston Martins, could not believe how dirty they drove in Spa.''
Adriana rolls her eyes, she and Felipe don't talk about Spa anymore, what's done is done, and Felipe came out unscathed. Thiago, not one to let go, says. ''Fernando is fine, it's the other one I was disgusted with.''
Delfina nods, and says. ''I'm just glad you're alright, Felipe.'' Felipe laughs, and takes his girlfriend's hand under the table. ''So are we, the weekend wasn't all bad though, was it, Adri?''
Adriana beams at her boyfriend. ''No, it wasn't.'' They pay for dinner, and head to the plaza to listen to some music and dance. Adriana shows Felipe how to do a decent Argentine Tango, his hands on her back, holding her close to him. He then shows her how to do a Brazilian Samba. A more fun and upbeat dance. They dance together just like they drive together, perfectly. They share a deep kiss, letting the plaza melt away. ''Eu te amo, Adriana.'' Felipe says, his hands slipping down to her hips.
Adriana places her hands on his chest, and says. ''Te amo tambien, Felipe.''
They get home an hour and a half later, and head to the bedroom. Adriana kisses her boyfriend again, kicking her heels off while ridding him of his jacket. Felipe unzips her dress, and her back hits the mattress in just the perfect way. He looks to her for permission to go ahead with this, she nods while running her fingers through his soft hair. They bring beautiful oblivion to each other tonight, staking their love for each other. After, they lie together, kissing each other until sleep finds them at last.
#####
A few slow days pass, filled with trips to markets, going around the city together, and trips back to Mar Azul. Late nights and slow mornings. They visit Adriana's family for dinner one night. Just in time for it to start raining. They almost forgot that it is technically winter here right now. Seven days until their little happy bubble ends. They get to bed, and their phones ding with texts from work. Fisichella is informing them of three upgrades to the car: new suspension, a new cooling system, and better brake pedals. They respond quickly, and get to sleep. Zandvoort looming larger each day.
#####
The rain cell clears three days before they're due to fly back to Europe. And, they take this as a final opportunity to drive into Mar Azul, and go to the beach. They'll need to be back in the gym as of tomorrow, training their bodies for the back stretch of the season. So, today is for them. It's just as beautiful and warm as it was the first time they came here, and quiet as well. They set up, and get the factor 30 on, before going for a swim. They come up for air, and head back to their spot to dry off. ''Have I told you how good you look today, minha princesa?''
Adriana leans over to kiss him, the red cutout swimsuit was intentional. ''Not too bad yourself, mi corazon.'' They dig into their picnic lunch, and relax under the sun. Adriana curls up at Felipe's side, he pulls her on top of him, bracing her with his legs, and kissing her while she knits her fingers into his hair. They break apart, Adriana says. ''You know, there could be paparazzi here, right?''
Felipe says, running his fingers up and down her spine, sending chills up her back. ''Yeah, I do, but a story kill wouldn't take long.'' Adriana traces this shoulder muscles gently. ''I love you.''
Felipe says. ''I love you too.'' He kisses her again, this time it feels hungry. That two hour drive home is going to be difficult, Adriana can feel it.
True enough, that drive home is difficult. Adriana's knuckles turning white as she tries to focus on the road. All the while Felipe's hand rests on her thigh. They somehow make it back to her apartment, and lock the door behind them before running to the bedroom. Felipe presses Adriana to the bed, kissing her neck with hunger. She rids him of his t-shirt, digging her fingers into his muscular back. ''Feli... Feli, te quiero...'' She says as he kisses her chest.
Felipe whispers in her ear, his hot breath sending shivers up her back. ''Dizes por favor.''
Adriana pants, enjoying the feeling of him untying her swim suit. ''Por favor, mi corazon.'' Now, he strips her naked, and she does the same for him. Finally, they take each other to paradise, laying claim to each other. Felipe lifts Adriana's leg onto his hip, digging his fingers into her thigh. She nips at his shoulder gently as he gives her pleasure she didn't know she deserved.
After, they lie together, legs tangled together. Utterly blissed out from today, Adriana kisses her boyfriend's neck, moaning softly as he massages her breast. ''I never want to leave this bed, you know? Those cars are great, but this is something else.'' Felipe says.
Adriana, still wired up, says. ''Who said we need to leave this bed today?'' He laughs, and presses his lips to her shoulder, nipping the skin there gently. ''I like how your brain works.''
Adriana says, moving them so he's pressed down to the bed. ''Good.'' She captures his lips in a kiss, and gets them going for round two. God only knows where all this has come from, but neither want it to leave.
#####
Three days later, they get driven to the airport, a long pair of flights ahead of them to Amsterdam. Back to work, back to needing to behave themselves. And, now they need to pretend this relationship doesn't exist for however long they're able. They can manage that, right? They board their first flight to New York, and find their seats in first class. Felipe is out instantly, always quicker to get to sleep than Adriana is. Adriana listens to music, and reads her book. This stage of the flight will last them nearly eleven hours. During dinner service, one of the crew members asks them. ''I can't help but feel like you two are familiar to me, are you two famous?''
Felipe nods, and says. ''We're Formula 1 drivers for Alfa Romeo, I'm Felipe Drugovich.''
Adriana introduces herself. ''I'm Adriana Fangio. We're teammates, and spent summer together.''
The woman seems interested in where they're going. ''Where are you two headed next, then?''
Felipe says. ''We're connecting to Amsterdam from New York.'' Adriana adds, elaborating. ''Then, we go to Zandvoort for the race.'' The woman says, surprised. ''Wow, interesting.'' She leaves them to eat.
They sleep the rest of the way to New York, and get off the plane. They find their bags, and their next gate for the seven hour flight to Amsterdam. They get boarded and seated in first class again, and wait for take off. The pilot gives the lecture, and they taxi down the runway. ''Back to work, Adri.'' Felipe says, sounding upset.
Adriana takes his hand. ''Back to work, Feli.'' The plane takes off, and they relax for the long flight across the Atlantic. They're served lunch, and eat before getting some more sleep. Wondering what awaits them at their first Dutch Grand Prix together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Netherlands - First Hints.
Their arrival in Zandvoort brings the good weather from Buenos Aires with them. Apparently it was raining all week, now it's gorgeous and warm. They play it casual walking into the paddock for media day, not holding hands, just talking excitedly about the race. For once, Adriana doesn't resent the boys' partners, sure, they get to hold hands and kiss in public. But, they don't get to share races with their boyfriends. Adriana does, she and Felipe get to be on track together for the rest of the year, and hopefully for much longer too. Adriana has her press conference with Alex, Oscar, Nico, and Kimi. So, she grabs something to snack on, and heads to the press room. Missing Felipe already, but she'll be fine. ''Good day and welcome back, we will be taking questions for the drivers now.'' It's now that Adriana hopes no one caught anything of their holiday in Buenos Aires. Someone asks Oscar about how he wants to improve his fourth in the championship. Nico gets questions about tutoring Gabriel. Alex gets asked about how well Williams have improved. Kimi gets some questions about his battle with Adriana and Ollie for Rookie of The Year. Finally, someone asks Adriana. ''Adriana, Alfa Romeo are bringing some big upgrades to Zandvoort, how are you feeling about the back end of the year for the team?''
Adriana says. ''I'm feeling great, we're ten points short of fifth in the constructors, and hopefully we can make up the gap this weekend. Felipe and I are a really good team, and we're here to put that car in good places.'' She prays no one notices the flush in her ears, because she can feel it.
Someone else asks her. ''Is it coming time that Fisichella sit you two down to discuss which of you is the number one driver?'' Adriana shakes her head, and says. ''No, like I said in Canada, we've asked to be given equal treatment and equal opportunity. I'd never live with myself if I got preferential treatment over him.''
Oscar jokes from down the sofa. ''Just no Silver War part two, y'know?''
Adriana laughs. ''No, I like what Felipe and I have together, we're going to be the opposite of the Silver War.'' Hopefully the boys don't read too much into that, or see the very faint flush she's sure has risen to her cheeks. It's good that her skin is a bit too dark for blushing to show up.
The next day is free practice, two sessions today and one tomorrow before qualifying. They somehow find some space for a very quick kiss before heading into the garage. They split up, talk to their engineers, and get ready to drive. Pietro and Eduardo head to the pit wall, and the drivers are released to the track. They're finding that power tracks suit their cars best. So, Zandvoort and Monza are going to be fun for the team. ''How are the upgrades feeling, Felipe?'' Eduardo asks his driver.
Felipe says. ''Feels great, the car feels so much better than it did in Hungary.'' He comes into the third sector. ''Is Adri saying the same?''
Eduardo affirms. ''Yeah, she's a tenth down on you, upgrades suit her fine too.''
Felipe smiles to himself, and says. ''Great, love to hear that.'' They could tell their crew, right? The team love them enough to be alright with them together, don't they?
After practice, they go for a short media round, and grab something to eat in the team's base. Enjoying some chicken salad wraps with mate. ''Should we tell the crew about us, Adri?'' Felipe asks once they're done with their meal.
Adriana sips her mate, thinking this over again. She's thought of very little else since that day in Belgium. ''Maybe after the race? I'm just scared of getting in trouble, I'm sure there's a thousand rules against this.''
Felipe says, placing a hand on her knee. ''I'm sure Alberto would know, he knows everything.'' They go to the garage, and find their Sporting Director. Not holding hands, they can't afford that this side of Sunday. They find Alberto talking to Chief Technical Director Wolfgang - the stern German engineer who designs their cars and upgrades. ''Alberto, can we talk to you quickly, please?'' Felipe asks.
Alberto says, nodding. ''Yeah, of course.'' They take him aside somewhere quiet, Felipe asks. ''Hypothetically, are there any rules in the racing code about F1 teammates dating each other?''
Alberto's face is stricken, but he manages to say. ''Not as far as I know, kids, why?''
Adriana says, thinking on her feet, something her boyfriend is much better at than she is it seems. ''We were just having a debate over lunch, idle chatter, Alberto, promise. Thanks for settling it!'' They head back to Felipe's motorhome, and crash on the sofa together.
Come race day, they're due to start from seventh for Felipe and eighth for Adriana. Qualifying wasn't exactly easy around this track, but they made it work. Adriana is just dressed up for work, and touches the picture of her abuelo she keeps on her table. The door to her driver's room opens, it's Felipe, also suited up for the race. ''Feli, what...''
Felipe holds her around the waist, and says. ''Just wanted a kiss from my girlfriend before we go racing, Adri.'' She smiles, and holds his shoulders. They kiss softly. Reining themselves in from more.
The race is physical from the start, but they're on lap 20 really quickly. The team are running a two stop strategy here, with one stoppers in the plans for Monza next week. They're holding positions really well, sticking close together, and keeping their eyes up front. They come out from their double stack on lap 35 with Felipe in sixth, and Adriana running two tenths down in seventh. ''Doing well, Adriana, just keep it on the track, and stick with Felipe.''
Adriana swallows some of her drink, and says. ''Sounds like a plan to me, Pietro.''
They maintain position on their new mediums until lap 50, well ahead of the next drivers below them. They pit one last time on lap 52 for new mediums, and get stuck into a battle against Lando and Oscar for fifth and sixth. Adriana nails the overtake on Oscar into turn four for sixth, and Felipe gets fifth from Lando. Adriana pulls clear of Lando herself, and the Alfa Romeos get going, with the Ferraris in their sights. ''Good work, Adriana.'' Pietro says.
Adriana says, finally able to breathe properly again. ''That was stressful.'' Now, they have to bring this home and take care of their tires.
The laps tick down with them running in fifth and sixth. Then, finally, they take the flag together. Felipe in fifth, and Adriana in sixth. The closest they've been to a podium all year. First race back from summer, and as boyfriend and girlfriend.
Felipe has a short interview with Sky after his round in the pen. Jenson claps him on the shoulder, and Danica gives him a polite smile. ''Felipe, fifth place, Alfa Romeo's best finish of the season, how does that feel coming from summer break?'' Jenson asks him.
Felipe says, smiling ear to ear. ''It's amazing, the engineers are doing such a good job. Kind of surprised myself today, the race was just perfect from the start for both of us.''
Jenson says. ''This lineup with you and Adriana is just turning into gold, how has driving together with her aided this charge for you?'' Felipe drinks some water, smiling brightly. ''She's just... a dream, she really is. I'd not race with anyone else.''
Danica asks him, he knew she'd say something stupid, she always does. ''You say that, but how much of this do you feel is due to her name? As the grandchild of a five time champion.'' Felipe grips his microphone tighter, raising an eyebrow at that question. How dare she even think that, let alone ask that? ''Adriana is incredible, she's more than earned all of this, and I'll hear no one say that this is because of her name. She used her mother's name until this year. If you're looking for me to insult someone so important to me, you're going to be really disappointed.'' He cuts the interview short, and re-joins Adriana. She has tears in her eyes, she was listening to that interview. Silently, he takes his crying girlfriend into his arms. ''It's not true, what she said, any of it.''
Adriana croaks out. ''Then, why did she say it, Feli?'' Felipe cradles her perfect face in his hands, and dries her eyes. ''Because she's a bigoted idiot, Adri. NASCAR got to her head.''
Adriana asks, golden brown eyes still misty with tears. ''Are you sure?''
Felipe nods, kissing her forehead. ''About you? Always.''
They relax in his motorhome that evening, that woman's question must be lingering in Adriana's head, because she clings to Felipe all evening for comfort. She falls asleep on his chest while they're watching a movie. Felipe just runs his fingers through her hair, and lets her know he's here. His phone buzzes on the side table. ''Ciao.''
It's Pietro, he's worried. ''Felipe, thank God, is Adriana alright? That woman's question must have hurt her.''
Felipe says. ''She's alright, Pietro. She's asleep on me right now, we needed some quiet.''
Pietro says, relieve for his driver. ''Good, I'm glad she's with you. See you tomorrow.''
Felipe nods, and says. ''See you tomorrow.'' And hangs up, he kisses his girlfriend on the head, and joins her in sleep. Ready for whatever's to come in Monza.

Monza - The First Reveal.
Here they are, Monza, one of the big four tracks on the calendar. The last of the big four races as well. Francesca said the weather forecast looks good for this weekend as well, perfect sun and warmth. This weekend, Adriana has a new addition to her helmet, something she should have done ages ago really. But, her helmet artist in Spain was all too happy to fly out to add it on. Her new addition is her new personal motto, in the colours of her home, across the back of the helmet: ''Prove Them Wrong'' will be displayed for the rest of her career. The grid are sitting down to a late lunch while rookie tests are going on, when Boris delivers the new and improved helmet to Adriana in its black bag. ''How much do I owe you, Boris?''
Boris answers. ''Two hundred euros.'' Adriana nods, and does the money transfer on her phone before hugging him. ''Muchas gracias, mi amigo.''
Boris smiles at her. ''De nada por todos, mi amiga.'' He returns to the garage. Adriana takes her updated helmet out. He's added some silver glitter to the five stars on the chin of her helmet, and gold glitter the Sol De Mayo on the crown. Her 24 is in dark blue as always. The motto is in bold lettering with some filigree details. ''Prove Them Wrong, Adriana?'' Pierre asks her.
Adriana nods, and says. ''My new motto, felt necessary after what that bitch said about me in Zandvoort.''
Alex asks, looking interested in her helmet design. ''What are the stars for?''
Adriana says, placing it on the table to save her arms. ''Two things: my Argentine Karting Cup wins, and my abuelo's five championships.'' The colours: white, blue, sapphire, gold, and silver are for home. ''I love that motto, it fits you so well.'' Max says.
Adriana puts it back in the bag. ''Thank you, Max.''
After lunch, she and Felipe head back to the garage to oversee their cars. Pepe jumps out of Felipe's car, and Aurelia bails out of Adriana's. The cars are in one piece. ''How did you find it?'' Felipe asks Pepe.
Pepe says, pulling his gloves off. ''Great, a lot more intense than F2.'' Aurelia, nodding in agreement, says. ''Yeah, these are so much faster than our Academy cars.''
Adriana says, putting her new helmet on its shelf. ''You two did such a good job. Feli, would you say we finally have our reserves?'' They're being given special dispensation to have two reserve drivers so Adriana can be backed up by a fellow woman if she needs to be. ''I'd say so, Adri, yes.''
Fisichella surfaces from the offices upstairs. ''Welcome aboard, guys.'' He takes them for a tour of the Alfa Romeo base camp, and the drivers go for a track walk. They're by themselves, so they risk holding hands. Adriana is certain some of the grid are onto them by now. The team have to know something is up as well. But, who could tell? They've been like this with each other since day one. Those two karting kids who found each other because no one else wanted to hang out with them. Maybe the others should've driven faster, then. They follow the track to Variente Ascari. ''Abuelo was good friends with Ascari, he was at abuelo and abuela's wedding.''
Felipe squeezes her hand, and says. ''Your family should write a book of all the stories you've all been part of.'' Abuelo would have done that, including the kidnapping in it would have made book sales skyrocket. He just never thought it was necessary. He was wrong, Adriana would have loved to have his stories on hand for this rookie season.
Adriana nods, she hadn't thought of that before. ''Maybe uncle Alfonso, he's always fancied himself a writer. Papa's too busy with his property business.'' Adriana's father is the last of seven, born the year after abuelo's last title. She is the surprise baby of a surprise baby. And, fiercely proud of it too. They come around Parabolica, and back to the garage. ''How are you, princesa? After Zandvoort?'' Felipe asks her.
Adriana turns her ring on her finger. ''A bit better, just... what she said... I can't shake it off for some reason.'' Felipe takes her into his arms, and assures her again. ''She's wrong, don't listen to people full of hate.''
Adriana nods, and says. ''But, why did she have to say it at all?'' Felipe kisses her head. ''Because she's full of hate. But, I'm not, I love you, and promise you she's wrong.''
Adriana sniffles, smiling with misty eyes. ''I love you too, corazon.'' Fisichella interrupts their kiss. ''About time you two admitted it to each other. Go on, when did this start?''
Felipe bashfully says. ''Spa.'' Giancarlo laughs, like an amused father more than a hard-as-nails former driver and team principal. ''Thought as much. Just, one tip, okay? Keep this professional while you're in the paddock. No funny business.''
Adriana nods, and assures their boss. ''We will, Fisi, promise.''
After the race, where they finish a respectable eighth and ninth to boost their place as fifth in the constructors, the duo call a brief team meeting in the garage before teardown. Where they finally come clean about the relationship. The team seem happy for them, and supportive of the relationship that's blossoming between them. After the meeting, they head to Adriana's motorhome to pack their stuff for their train to Milan. It's time to finally set up her apartment for her use.
#####
They spend a couple of days in Milan, shopping for furniture and different things she'll need for the apartment. Having things shipped to the penthouse from a nice furniture shop in the city. Once everything is taken care of, they get the place set up at last. That takes them about two and a half days. Adriana finishes setting her new bedroom up, and then it's all done. She's officially living in both Milan and Buenos Aires. The cities are so similar in a lot of ways, so it's perfect. Less crowded than Monaco at any rate. ''Happy, Adri?'' Felipe asks her.
Adriana nods, leaning against him as he holds her from behind. ''Yeah, Feli, happier than I thought I'd be. Are you happy?'' She always worries if Felipe isn't as happy with her as she is with him. Especially after what Damian did to her. ''Of course I am.'' He means it, as he always does. They leave for Baku in two days. Starving after their busy day, they order some dinner in from a pizza place, and open a bottle of wine. ''Counting down to Interlagos yet?'' Adriana asks her boyfriend.
Felipe smiles wistfully, his first race at home in his permanent car. ''Yeah, now we're basically done in Europe, I'm just excited for Brazil.'' Adriana takes another slice of pizza, something no one tells you about this job, you're always hungry. ''It's weird, isn't it? Aside from Austin and Interlagos, we're done with the really good tracks now.''
Felipe asks her, sipping his wine. ''What do you think abuelo and abuela would say about our tracks now?''
Adriana puts her glass down. ''Abuelo would love them, papa said he always felt like their calendar was too short. Abuela would just tell us to be careful and not crash.'' She never met her grandparents, but she's heard enough to know what she's talking about. ''Well, except for Spa, we've done that.''
Adriana nods, and laughs. ''Long may that continue.'' They finish up with dinner, and get to bed right away, too tired for anything else tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Baku - First DNF.
Their flight from Milan lands in Baku, a private flight with Fisichella and the reserves. They taxi into the airport, and get off the plane. The race is in three days' time. Technically, the Alfa Romeo quartet shouldn't have traveled together for safety reasons. But, Pepe and Aurelia insisted on flying with them, and Felipe and Adriana refuse to travel without each other. They get through customs, and get into their cars. The drive to the hotel is short. The city is beautiful, a weird patchwork of medieval and modern, and somehow it works. Once at the hotel, they check in, and head up to their rooms. The team are trusting Felipe and Adriana to share a room for the rest of the year, as long as they're not getting up to anything. They're adults, they know better than that. They get in, and unpack for the weekend. ''How much longer do we wait to announce this to everyone else?'' Felipe asks, sitting down on their bed.
Adriana sighs, hanging her jacket up by the door. ''I was thinking during our group dinner in Singapore. But, I'm not sure.'' She's certain the others are starting to get a clue about them. They've been so good about keeping this quiet. Not holding hands or kissing in the paddock as much as they can.
Felipe says, taking her hand, and kissing it. ''I think that sounds perfect, Adri. Now, we have two hours until our GPDA meeting.'' Adriana smiles, and joins her boyfriend in bed. They are nothing if not insatiable for each other lately.
Somehow, they make it to the meeting in time, looking no worse for wear after their love making. At least, not in a way anyone would notice. The Alfa Romeo jackets get zipped up, and they head in for the meeting. Sitting near Franco and Gabriel. George does the normal preamble, and presents his powerpoint on what they discussed in Hungary. They discuss some issues they've had with scheduling and the timings of red flags and safety cars. A near constant point of contention they have. With that out of the way, George asks, looking suspiciously at Adriana's neck. ''Is there anything else we want to discuss? Anything... interesting?''
Adriana makes a mental note to get Felipe to go for her shoulders next time. ''No, not as far as I'm concerned.''
Like the annoying brother he is, Franco asks. ''Then, what's that bruise on your neck, Adri?''
Gabriel remarks. ''I'd look to her teammate with the red face, Franco.'' George asks them, a slight smirk on his face. ''Are you two a thing?'' Felipe nods, and confesses. ''Yes, since Spa.''
Adriana says. ''There's no rules against it, and the team are fine with it, so...''
Fernando calms the room down, and says. ''We've been waiting for this, calm down. We wondered when this would happen.''
Felipe requests, the flush in his face dying down, much more visible on his than on Adriana's. ''Just... don't tell the media, please? We wanna do that on our own.''
George assures them. ''Secret's safe with us, don't worry. And, congratulations.''
#####
Free practice is on Friday, the drivers arrive, get suited up, and get into their cars to put their laps in. In the first session, Felipe comes eleventh, reporting some struggles in the castle section. Adriana is thirteenth, finding the same struggles. Then, in the second session, Felipe improves to tenth, finding a new potential racing line to take. Adriana stays in thirteenth, catching some glare in her visor coming back into the start straight. They get back to the garage, and bail out of their cars. After a chat with their engineers, they head for showers, and get changed into team casual clothes. They head out of the paddock for their car, but are stopped by some kids for autographs. ''Good to see some of our fans here, did you enjoy watching practice?'' Felipe asks.
A little boy, Amir, his name is. ''Yeah, we're here with our school, the cars are so fast!''
A young girl, with the name 'Fatima' on her name tag, asks Adriana. ''Can I drive like you, Miss?''
Adriana smiles, this is what she wants to be asked, not inane questions about her driver dynamic with her boyfriend. ''Of course you can, Fatima. If you do well, and work really hard, you can be in this sport too. Just call me 'Adriana', please.''
A boy called Yusuf asks them. ''Is driving scary?'' Felipe answers this one, having driven single seaters longer. ''Sometimes, but it's really fun.''
They head back to their hotel room for some rest before dinner, these days drag on for ages sometimes.
#####
Qualifying on Saturday doesn't go entirely to plan, both of them being knocked out of Q2. Felipe starting in thirteenth, and Adriana in fifteenth. Not where they're used to, but they've been better on permanent tracks this year. Monaco wasn't great for them either. Street tracks are a totally different beast from proper tracks. But, it's their job to turn these start positions into gold. So, they can only try their best to do that. They wait on the grid for the lights. ''Radio check, Adriana.'' Pietro says.
Adriana responds. ''I can hear you, Pietro, loud and clear.''
Pietro says, advising her from the pit wall. ''Okay, just keep your eyes up.''
Adriana says, placing her hands on the wheel. ''Will do.'' The lights go on, and then it's time to race. The first laps are a bit chaotic, but no one crashes somehow. Adriana is racing the Haas cars of Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon. Felipe is up ahead doing battle with Fernando and Lance in their Aston Martins. The laps tick up slowly, but the formation doesn't seem to change any, such is the nature of street races. ''Adriana, you are one tenth faster than Ocon, and will get your wing open next lap, just hold on.'' Pietro says.
Adriana says, her left hand cramping up for some reason. ''Yeah, got it, thank you.''
The duo are in a heated battle until lap 22, when Adriana feels an almighty impact on her rear diffuser, in one single moment, she's sent down the escape road, and comes to a dead stop. Her heart is in her throat, she can't breathe. ''Adriana? Adriana, come in, please.'' Pietro says.
Finally, Adriana comes back into herself. ''I'm fine, just scared me. What's happened?''
Pietro says. ''Rear damage, retire the car, and come back to the garage.'' The medical car and tractor comes for her and her car. The medics do a quick check, and drive her back to the pitlane, finding no concussion or injuries. Her car is removed, and returned to the garage. The safety car allows the rest to pit for fresh tires while Adriana is checked over in her driver's room. She's given the all clear, and some painkillers, and changes out of her racing gear. ''Are you okay, Adriana?'' Aurelia asks her.
Adriana nods, taking a seat to ease the pain in her back. ''Yeah, Aurelia, I'm fine.'' The race goes green again, and Felipe jumps on the offensive against Ocon. Exacting some revenge for putting her out of the race. ''Feli... please, don't.'' Adriana pleads with him from afar. The last thing the team needs are two cars to fix ahead of Singapore. Pepe says to her. ''I think your boyfriend has stopped caring, Adriana.''
Adriana says, half groaning. ''That's what I'm afraid of, Pepe.'' She loves her boyfriend more than anything on this Earth, but he really needs to behave himself. She'd hate it if he got in trouble for her sake.
Felipe comes tenth, two points for the team, it could've been more had Adriana been able to back him up, but shit happens. Felipe runs over to Adriana, and asks her. ''You're not hurt, are you?'' Worry deep in his eyes.
Adriana shakes her head. ''No, I'm fine, Feli. Just a bit shaken up.'' He kisses her hands gently, and heads for media. The medical team got Adriana excused from media so as not to stress her out after her anxiety attack in the car. So, she sits in her room, and waits on Felipe to get done with his media rounds.
After media, they get back to the hotel. They had wanted to go and grab some dinner together, but Adriana needs her rest. They change into more comfortable clothes, and order some dinner up to their room. ''So much for date night, huh?'' Adriana says.
Felipe hands her her chicken curry bowl, joining her in bed with his own. ''It still is date night, princesa, just a different date night.'' They get a movie on, and eat their dinner. ''I guess you're right, corazon.''
After their movie is over, they curl up together, and get some sleep. The city still buzzing away outside, teardown in progress for Singapore. And, repairs probably being done to Adriana's blown diffuser. But, the couple don't care one bit right now, too busy sound asleep after a really emotional and stressful day.
#####
The team flies out of Baku on Tuesday evening for a ten hour flight to Singapore. On the plane to Singapore, Adriana updates her scrapbook. Adding the stuff from Zandvoort, Monza, and Baku to it. It's getting really nice now, with seven races left to archive things from. Felipe, Pepe, and Aurelia are playing Mario Kart across the aisle. ''Ugh, how do you always win, Felipe?'' Pepe says, exasperated.
Felipe laughs, and says. ''Skill.''
Aurelia asks Adriana. ''Do you wanna play, Adri?'' Adriana looks up from her work on her scrapbook, and says. ''I'm busy, but thank you anyway, Aurelia.'' The scrapbook is done for now, so Adriana gets her earphones in, and pulls out her book. Giancarlo tells them over dinner that they have a re-fueling stop in Delhi halfway through the flight, and to get some sleep. He also warns Felipe and Adriana of how rough Singapore can get, and they hang on his every word.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Singapore - The Hardest Race.
Why does Singapore need to be so hot? Why is it so damned humid here? And, why the hell are they being made to race like this? Of all the places they go to nowadays, abuelo would hate this the most. The heat, the street track, the night race. Argentina around this time of year is warmer, but at least there's a nice trade wind to cool everything off. The race is in four days' time. And, only now has the jet lag begun to wear itself off. Everyone is struggling right now, the air conditioning has been turned up to maximum in the hotel, and plenty of cold drinks and ice cream are on stock for everyone. Felipe and Adriana have tossed the duvet off of their bed. The only drivers sharing a room, and they'd have it no other way. Adriana finishes with a cold shower, and changes after drying off, opening the windows of their hotel room. Felipe gets back from talking to Gabriel. ''Feels nice in here, cannot wait to get out of here.'' He kisses Adriana's cheek.
Adriana brushes her wet hair, and blow dries it before tying it up off of her neck. ''I know, could not believe it when we got off the plane. We're racing at night in this too.''
Felipe asks her. ''Has Fran said anything about this humidity breaking over the weekend?''
Adriana sits on an armchair, scrolling through her texts with their head of strategy. ''Hang on.'' She stops scrolling, and says. ''It's due to get worse for practice and qualifying, but ease off a bit for the race.''
Felipe says, lying down on the bed. ''At least our cooling system works well, I heard from Bearman that Haas are worried about theirs for this week.''
Adriana says, cursing how tempting her boyfriend looks right now, in his shorts and team t-shirt, it just had to be stiflingly hot and humid, didn't it? ''That doesn't surprise me.'' It's getting dark already, but they're just starting their day. They head down for lunch, at six in the evening. None of the others look pleased about the humidity either. Lewis looks fed up already, and they've not even raced yet. ''Don't suppose we could go on strike, could we?'' Liam asks, digging into some pasta.
Franco says, running a hand through his hair. ''Good idea, Liam, let's all fly to Austin.''
Lewis, the voice of reason for the group, says. ''We'd all get in trouble, we're stuck with this.'' He changes the subject. ''Heard a certain someone we hate is back from her sabbatical this week.''
Felipe sits down at the table next to Gabriel. ''Oh, is she now? Stick her on the track, I'll run the bitch over. It's what she deserves.'' Adriana smiles, not the beaming one she gives Felipe, or the scheming one she gives media, a kind of tranquil one no one's seen before. ''No, Feli, besides, you'll get banned. I'll just tell her not to mess with racing royalty, or to go into Buenos Aires.''
Gabriel says, ever an enabler. ''Bring us into the interview with you, Adri, please?''
Adriana says, that cheeky glint in her eyes. ''Oh, absolutely.'' Fernando proposes to the table, the elder who everyone listens to. ''We could refuse to talk to her at all, there's also that option.''
Felipe downs some water. ''I think I like that idea, Nando.'' They all agree to it, to put that woman firmly in her place.
#####
The following evening is media rounds, still hot and humid, and everyone's tempers are a bit short today. They could do with a good electric storm this weekend, even if it would hamper the racing. Adriana is taken for a conference with Lando, Max, Fernando, and Franco. They discuss the normal stuff; racing, calendar, championships. Then, someone asks them. ''Question for all the drivers. Danica Patrick has been allowed to return to media duties after her comments at Zandvoort, what's the mood in the room about that?''
Fernando speaks first. ''I think it's a shame, someone who has so badly hurt one of our family being allowed back. Sky had the perfect chance to fire her, and they didn't.''
Lando picks his mic up next, jaw set in anger. ''I agree, I saw Adriana crying from my own interview, and just wanted to hug her. I'm glad Felipe was there.''
Max nods, and says, his voice carries furthest. ''We all know how hard Adriana has worked, I'd say she's worked harder than us boys have, and Danica's ignorance has no place here.''
Franco is less diplomatic, as always, but they adore him for it. ''I think she's an idiot who should've stayed in NASCAR, all those ovals got to her head.''
Adriana sniffles, her eyes welling up from all the support she's getting. ''God... thank you, boys, for the kindness. I think the bottom line of it is; I know my journey, I know my worth. Envy is one hell of a thing; I made it, she didn't, but she had her own journey.''
They get done with press, and get back outside, Lando proposes grabbing some ice cream together, and they follow his lead. Adriana feels a warmth settle in her chest, the same one she felt in Australia at the start of the year. Abuelo is with her, and he's proud of her. ''You okay, Adriana?'' Max asks her.
Adriana nods, and says, spooning some of her ice cream - raspberry and chocolate as always. ''Yeah, just felt my abuelo with us for a minute.''
#####
Qualifying is a bit of a mess, Felipe due to start sixteenth, and Adriana just ahead of him in fifteenth. They get back to the hotel after media for a cold shower. Praying that the weather forecasts were right. They change quickly, and order something to eat. Thankful that this is the last night race until Vegas, and that there's no more humidity on the calendar. They eat while watching a movie, and get some well earned rest together.
#####
The race starts at half past seven local time, so they're given the wake up call from reception at three. They've slept through the heat of the day, but it's far from a cool evening. After a quick breakfast together, they get down to the paddock. Team meetings are held over lunch. Then, it's time to gear up for battle. Alfa Romeo are running a one stopper, beginning on hards, and closing the race on mediums. Adriana and Felipe manage a sneaky kiss away from the cameras before they split up to their ends of the garage. They get ready, and get into their cars. They're pushed into their grid spots, and get radio check done. ''Pietro, has Fran said the weather will break or not?'' Adriana asks.
Pietro says. ''Should get easier towards the end of the race, Adriana, yeah.''
Adriana adjusts her gloves. ''Cool, thanks.'' The lights go off, and the race begins. Sixty three laps, in this humidity. Adriana has Felipe in her sights, but wants no part in fighting him on this tight track. So, she focuses on Bearman's Haas in fourteenth. This mini battle lasts for about fifteen laps. Adriana keeping her position, four positions shy of points. But, all she cares about is making it out of this race in once piece. ''You are four tenths down on Bearman, Adriana.'' Pietro informs her.
Adriana says. ''Felt as much, yeah. Where's Felipe?''
Pietro says, after a few seconds of silence. ''Three tenths down on you, hold position for now.''
On lap 36, there's a collision between Stroll and Gabriel, bringing out the safety car for three laps while they clear the damage and evacuate the drivers. ''Is Gabriel alright?'' Adriana inquires after her friend. No doubt Felipe is asking Eduardo the same thing.
Pietro says. ''We do not know yet, but Edo and I will inform you both when we know more, promise.''
Adriana says, making sure she's not speeding. ''Okay, thank you.'' The safety car period ends, and they get back to racing speed. As the laps tick up to 41, both Alfa Romeos are due for their pit stops. On lap 41, Felipe dives down the pits for his stop, the lower qualifier always stops first among them. Then, the next lap is Adriana's turn. ''Box for fresh tires, Adriana.'' Pietro instructs her.
True to strategy, she does as told, diving down the pitlane from fourteenth. The crew put her mediums on, and she gets back out onto the track. ''Muchas gracias.'' She gets back on with her race, Felipe just behind her. There's no way they're scoring points this race, they'd already need to be in the top eleven for this to be possible. But, this is experience gained for next year.
On lap 56, the tires begin to blister for both of them, so they are called for a double stack for softs. They come out in the same positions they went in at. ''Not the plan we discussed, but it'll need to do.'' Pietro says.
Adriana says to her engineer. ''We've got to be adaptable, Pietro. At least we'll both bring the cars home this week.''
And bring them home, they do. Felipe in fifteenth, and Adriana in fourteenth. They park up in parc ferme, and get out of their cars. Their ice baths await them just outside their driver's rooms. A screen in front of theirs for privacy. They get their racing gear off, and get into the cold water in just their underwear. ''That was hell on Earth.'' Felipe says.
Adriana relaxes against his chest. ''Yeah, I'll be glad to get to Austin.'' She leans up to kiss him gently, relieved that the race is finally over. After their ice baths, they slip into flip flops and bathrobes. Then, get changed for media rounds.
#####
They take an extra couple of days to unwind after the race, due to fly out to Austin on Wednesday afternoon. But, tonight, Felipe and Adriana are going on a date, to make up for the date night they missed in Baku. Dressed in light summer clothes, but still looking a million bucks, they make the walk to the restaurant they made reservations at for tonight. They get in and seated, ordering some fish soup for a starter with white wine. ''Glad we've been able to actually do this this time.'' Adriana says.
Felipe assures her, taking her hand over the table. ''Baku wasn't your fault, Adri, you needed rest from the incident.''
Adriana says, finishing her starter. ''I guess you're right.'' They order chili crab for their main dish, and eat. The heat of the meal doesn't bother them, being South American gives you a bit of immunity. ''Looking forward to Austin, corazon?''
Felipe nods, ordering their dessert for them. ''Yeah, I am, looking forward to being back in our timezone too.'' Adriana nods, sipping her water. ''I just hope we're respected there, from what I've read in the news lately, the southern states aren't exactly kind to South Americans.''
Felipe bites his lip, he's read the same headlines, and no doubt the FIA are putting every measure in place to keep the four of them safe and looked after. ''I know, but we'll be safe, the scandal if we weren't would be horrible.''
Adriana says. ''I hope you're right, Feli.'' They finish dinner, pay for their meal and drinks, and head back to the hotel. They fly out to Austin tomorrow afternoon, with a connecting flight in Hawaii. Both private flights, but the travel time is almost twenty hours. So, they need to rest up for the flight.
#####
The couple, Pepe, and Aurelia meet Fisichella in the lobby, he does head count, makes sure they've got everything, and they get going to the airport. They board the first of their two planes to Hawaii. Felipe plays chess with Pepe, Aurelia reads a book, and Adriana updates her scrapbook with her memories and trinkets from Singapore. Six races left, plus three sprints, then they're on winter break. Where on Earth has that time gone already? It feels like just yesterday they were in Melbourne getting into Q3 on first race, Felipe was getting his first points that weekend too. China, and Adriana's first points, feels so recent. Their first kiss in Spa only feels a few hours ago, and now they've been together for nearly three months. ''Are you alright, Adriana?'' Giancarlo asks her, looking up from his emails on his laptop.
Adriana nods, skimming through her scrapbook. ''Yeah, just... wondering where the time has gone, that's all.''
Their team principal laughs, a fatherly laugh, the same one her papa has. ''I felt the same when I was racing, Adriana, you get on track for that first race, then you blink, and the season is mostly over.''
Adriana asks her boss. ''Do you ever get used to the rush of time?'' Giancarlo says, bluntly. ''No, not really.''
They're served lunch, and watch some movies together before the night lights go on, and they get some rest. Adriana doesn't sleep, but she does look out her window. At the ocean and islands passing below them. This world is so beautiful, and she's grateful to be in a place where she can see it for herself. Felipe moves to be next to her, and kisses her head. ''You should sleep, princesa.'' He says. Adriana nods, shuts her blind, and rests her head on her boyfriend's shoulder. ''Eu te amo, Adriana.'' He says.
She whispers, kissing his hand. ''Te amo tambien, Felipe.'' Finally, she shuts her eyes for the next few hours until breakfast service. Austin drawing closer as they all sleep, but that doesn't matter for the time being. The hardest weekend of the calendar is finally over, thank God. Adriana dreams of telling her younger self about this life she's living now, and the legacy she's in charge of. It used to scare her, but now it's comforting, her abuelo's careful eye in the sky.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, that's part two done and dusted! I'm feeling like this will be part two of three now. Wanted to let these four races breathe a bit more than the races in part one, since I was focusing on fewer of them. The big thing here was the challenge for Felipe and Adriana of balancing their racing career together with their new relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. A bit of a difficult balance to strike I'd imagine, but one that they somehow find amidst the chaos.
I also wanted to focus on how they spent summer break together, just shut up in Buenos Aires together having a nice time as a young couple in love rather than needing to be serious racing drivers.
Enjoy!
[ESPAÑOL]
No importa si has caído en combate o si sigues en pie, las flores siempre estarán allí para dejarte una huella en un punto de tu existencia, decorando todo lo que hay en ti en un gran momento que es totalmente inesperado.
Si sigues en pie, significará que has dado un paso adelante en tu historia y que continúes sembrado esa sabiduría que has cosechado en toda tu vida. Si has caído, significará que todos te recordarán por tus buenos actos y el legado que has dejado como una gran persona, alguien cercano en todos.
[ENGLISH]
No matter if you have fallen in combat or if you are still standing, flowers will always be there to leave a mark on you at a point in your existence, decorating everything in you in a great moment that is totally unexpected.
If you are still standing, it will mean that you have taken a step forward in your story and continue to sow that wisdom that you have harvested throughout your life. If you have fallen, it will mean that everyone will remember you for your good deeds and the legacy you have left as a great person, someone close to everyone.
MY CARMEN SANDIEGO ESSAYYY/BIOGRAPHY note that this is just the base, I'MMA turn this to my teacher then she'll let us actually make it to an essay
Introduction Statement: The life of Carmen Sandiego, a glamorous life, the greatest chase.
Thesis Statement: Carmen herself had countless obstacles in her life, only benefitting the person she grew to be.
First Supporting Idea: The beginning of Carmen, a true mystery.
Born & found in Buenos Aires, Argentina, possibly in the 90’s.
She lived on an island, being carousel-cared for by 5 crime masters.
She started at the island’s crime school, VILE, while nearly graduating at the age of 16.
Second Supporting Idea: The life of a worldwide thief, “La Femme Rouge”.
In her early days, she gained her current crew of Zach, Ivy & Player.
She spent her life running from a worldwide anti-crime organization called ACME, soon even joining them for a short while.
Eventually, being kidnapped by her ex-caretakers to be made back into the criminal she studied to be
Third Supporting Idea: A world of red, hearts and minds changed by a coat and fedora.
Carmen’s known talent was to be a sneaky thief, yet using such quirk to benefit the world for good
She touched hearts to “fight the good fight” and changed, come of her ex-classmates/criminals, to leave that life of crime behind and be better
Her legacy remains as being a mystery, yet doing so much for her world by keeping valuable history safe
Closing Statement: My own opinion stands that, she is a true legend, a person to aspire to be, an inspiration
Reworded Thesis: Despite various hardships in her life, she’s stood her ground, her obstacles only assisting in her soaring life
Broken Legacy
Remake de una vieja idea de un comic, me gusta las diferencias con Twokinds, como Flora acecina, Natain caballera, Kat (creo) es la mala , y Trace y Saria parece que tuvieron una hija, pero lo único que no cambio es que Nora siempre esta pegada a Trace XD, estaría bueno ver esta versión alterna, boceto sugerido por DarthKeidran.
