Buddie Bingo Summer Signups Are A Go!
Thank you so much for everyone taking part in the interest check and letting me know that you would be interested in another round of buddie bingo! So yes, a fourth round is happening and this time it's SUMMER THEMED! ☀️😎
This blog has never hosted a themed round of Buddie bingo before but I am super excited about this round! (apologies if you voted for a regular Buddie bingo round, I got too excited about the idea!)
This round is different than previous rounds. If you didn't get to participate the last rounds because of your age then now is your time to signup because this round is 16+ for ages! As there will be absolutely NO SMUT prompts and very little angst prompts! (We simply can't stop you from writing angst, but we'd like for this round to be a mostly fluffy round due to the theme) Summer fluff all around!
With that being said, signups are officially open!!!!!!
Signups end April 23rd and the round begins May 1st - September 23rd. I will work on getting cards out after April 23rd.
SIGNUP FORM HERE
Thank you in advanced, and see you when the round begins!
And please don't forget to join the Buddie Bingo discord!

First Words of a Life Long Love Letter
Buck/Eddie, Teen, 4.6k (Read on Ao3) For @buddiebingo, Square G2 "5+1"
"What are you doing here?" Eddie asks, setting his keys in his designated bowl and toeing out of his shoes.
"You had therapy today," Buck shrugs, and of course he pays attention to Eddie's schedule because he's spent the last five years being an integral part of it. "I know how it drains you, so I wanted to bring you some comfort food, and then I saw the stuff around the house I know you've been waiting to get to, so I figured I'd take care of it."
For the first time, he registers the laundry basket Buck has on the couch and the piles of folded clothes set on the coffee table. Eddie assumes that if he were to peek into the kitchen that the sink will be empty and the dishes already put away.
Eddie's eyes get lost following the fluid movements of Buck's hands folding Christopher's shirts. Buck's let himself into the house like he belongs, which, he won't dispute. Buck does belong. It feels so normal that he's just come home to Buck and that his best friend is doing chores for him out of consideration and brought him food , and maybe it's the exhaustion, or that he's so worn down that there hasn't been time for Eddie's defenses to rise back up, but he can't hold anything back and he has to say–
"Can I kiss you?"

"first kiss" square fill for @buddiebingo
|| 11,352 words || rated E || 5+1 ||
part 4 of a thread of possibility [Buddie Bingo Round 3]
It took an earthquake and a building collapse to make Eddie see what's been in front of him this whole time. Buck's right there with him, eyes finally open to the reality they've been living (and the opportunity for so much more in their future).
Too bad the universe is giving them mixed signals on that one. If you believe in that kind of thing.
[or the 5 times they get so close to finally kissing and the 1 time the universe actually lets them]

We Were Never Meant To Last (I Knew That From The Start)
"Reunited Years Later" square fill for @buddiebingo
"You know, I used to think that one day, you would feel the same way about me," Buck chuckles, glancing down at his mug. "What?" He knows his voice is faint, but Buck just shakes his head.
"I used to think we would make it one day. Marriage, more kids, white picket fences, the whole nine yards. I mean, the rest of the 118 definitely seemed to think so. There was a bet on us in a notebook and everything. I got them to donate half the money to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and half to Wounded Warriors in the end." Or: Sometimes, the right person isn't enough. Maybe it's just not meant to be with the person who was once your whole world.

Cruel Summer
Buddie (established) 2.4k, no warnings Buck and Eddie go for a long hike to their backcountry camping site, but the scorching heat has other plans.
For @firemedicdiaz <3 @buddiebingo square: Hurt/Comfort
Read it on Ao3
Tumblr media
Eddie had never sweat so much in his life.
“Whew,” Buck said as they stopped for a moment, “it’s hot as hell out here.”
“Understatement,” Eddie intoned as he gulped some water, pushing his sopping hair out of his eyes. He and Buck had planned this backcountry camping trip weeks ago, long before the heatwave had rolled in.   Still, they’d decided to keep their plans to get away, desperately needing a break from both work and the city.  The heat had been relentless so far, however, and Eddie could feel his strength ebbing away with every step.  They’d had a particularly strenuous shift the day before and his thigh muscles burned as they hiked, the sun beating down on them.
They were, at present, sheltered under some trees and the decrease in temperature, however slight, was more than welcome.  Eddie was starting to feel dizzy, wincing as his left calf cramped up for the third time, but he surreptitiously stretched it out, not wanting Buck to worry. He’d wanted to go on this trip for so long, the last thing Eddie wanted to do was slow him down.
“Ready?” Buck asked after a moment, and though he wasn’t, Eddie nodded.
They hiked for another solid hour and had emerged above the tree line, so there was almost no relief from the scorching sun. Despite the thick layer of sunscreen Buck had slathered on him, Eddie could feel his skin burning, his exposed arms, face and neck uncomfortably hot.  He was still pouring sweat, his shirt completely drenched, droplets steadily slipping down his face and neck.  The straps on the huge backpack strapped to his back bit into his shoulders and he shifted uncomfortably, feeling the heat trapped between his back and the bag.   He tried to keep himself hydrated, but he was sweating it back out so fast that he was fighting a losing battle. He stared at Buck’s backpack as it swayed on his back, trying to keep up but slowly falling behind.
Buck soon realized that Eddie was struggling to match his pace and slowed a bit, walking along beside him and eyeing him closely.
“What?” Eddie asked, his voice far more breathless than he would have liked.
“You okay?” Buck asked, concerned.  “We can stop for a bit if you want.”
“No, it’s fine,” Eddie shook his head, sending sweat droplets flying in every direction from the tips of his hair, his voice firm.  “I can go a little longer.”
Buck frowned, but seemed to take him at his word. Still, Buck reached into his pack and thrust a second water bottle into Eddie’s hand, which he opened gratefully and half-drained almost at once.
They walked on for another fifteen minutes before Eddie was so dizzy that he stumbled, nearly falling forwards, just managing to catch himself on a large boulder that he had been skirting around. Buck heard the sound of his feet slipping on the gravel and turned quickly, hurrying back to him as Eddie leaned on the boulder even as it seared the skin of his arm, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath.
“Okay, we’re stopping,” Buck decided, taking Eddie’s hand and pulling him gently towards a small, isolated grove of trees a hundred or so feet away.  Eddie tried to protest that he was fine, but he was so exhausted he could barely speak, and when they reached the shade, Eddie immediately slipped off his pack, sat down and leaned back against one of the trunks, breathing quick and shallow, his eyes closing.  Eddie felt Buck’s hand press against his forehead and forced his eyes open again, looking up at him.
“You’re so clammy,” Buck said in alarm, and Eddie shrugged.
“It’s fine,” Eddie insisted, but even he could hear the weakness in his voice.
“It’s not,” Buck countered, his hand moving from Eddie’s hand to his arm, slipping down towards his wrist.  He settled two fingers over Eddie’s radial pulse point and waited, while Eddie let his eyes close again, leaning his head back against the trunk as he continued to try and catch his breath.
“It’s really fast, and weak,” Buck reported after a moment, and Eddie could hear the worry in his tone.  “What other symptoms do you have?”
                “It’s nothing, Buck, really—”
                “Eddie.”
Eddie sighed, opening one eye and squinted at Buck, his nose wrinkled.  Seeing that Buck was not to be mislead, he took stock of himself and spoke honestly.
“Headache, a bit of nausea.  My leg was cramping pretty bad a couple miles back,” Eddie listed, watching Buck’s frown deepen.  “Oh, and dizziness,” Eddie added, as he lifted his head for a moment and immediately leaned it back against the trunk again, his vision swimming.
“Eds… you’ve got heat exhaustion, why didn’t you say something?”  Buck asked, threading his fingers through Eddie’s.  “You must have felt it coming on.”
“Yeah, well…” Eddie mumbled.  “It didn’t feel good but I didn’t realize it had gotten that much worse until I almost fell.”
“You need to be more careful,” Buck chided, though he pulled Eddie’s hand to his mouth and kissed the back of it gently.  “Tell me next time if you’re not feeling well.”
“I’m fine,” Eddie repeated, and Buck gave him an unamused look.  “I’ll be fine after I have more water, anyway.”
Still not convinced, Buck sat beside him and watched him carefully as they rested for a long while in the mottled shade of the trees. Eddie slowly drained the rest of his bottle, feeling sluggish and weak.  His eyes closed again, and he was nearly asleep when Buck pressed the bottle back into his hand, having refilled it from his canteen.
“Drink,” Buck ordered, and Eddie obeyed, though his movements still felt slow and laborious. After another fifteen minutes or so, Eddie’s vision had stopped blurring and he was feeling steady enough to lift his head again, taking it as a good sign when he didn’t immediately feel overcome with dizziness.
“Maybe we should just camp here,” Buck said, and Eddie saw, when he looked over, that Buck had still been watching him.  “I don’t want you walking any farther in the sun today.”
Eddie frowned and looked around, peering up at the peak behind them.  Their campsite was near the peak at a plateau surrounded by bushes.  It wasn’t overly far, but the last bit was a pretty steep, exhausting trek.  Still, Eddie hesitated; he knew Buck had been wanting to camp up there for months and he was not going to ruin it if he could help it.
“No, it’s fine,” Eddie said, taking a few deep breaths.  He really did feel a bit better now that he had rested.   Maybe he could make it.  “It’s only a couple more miles, I can do it.”
“Eds, no,” Buck told him, his voice gentle.  “Let’s just camp here, it’s nice and flat and there’s shade, that’s perfect.”
“No, you want to camp on the plateau,” Eddie said stubbornly, shifting until he was in position to rise.  “I’m not going to ruin that for you.”
Determined, Eddie shuffled for a moment before rising to his full height, intending to take an experimental walk around the clearing to see how he fared.  His heat-addled brain had other plans, however – the moment he was upright, he was hit with a wave of dizziness so strong that he instantly crumpled, his vision going black.   He collapsed back towards the ground as his knees gave out, his body giving no resistance as he fell.   Buck lunged for him but missed, and he landed in a heap on the dirt with a grunt and a low groan.
“Eddie!” Buck cried, kneeling beside him and pulling him into his lap, fingers brushing his hair out of his eyes.
“M’ok,” Eddie mumbled, forcing his eyes open and staring up into Buck’s worried, blurry face.  He tried to say more but Buck cut him off, clearly very concerned.
“You’re not okay, you just fainted,” Buck told him shakily.  “You need medical attention, but we’re so far out…”  Buck looked around at the beautiful, but remote scenery helplessly, thinking.    “I could go for help, but I don’t want to leave you alone…”
“I’ll be okay,” Eddie told him, forcing his voice to be louder than a croak.  “Heat exhaustion is easy to treat.  Fluids, rest, no more sun.”
“Right,” Buck agreed, though he still sounded unsure. “Okay.  I can figure this out.”
Eddie smiled weakly as Buck pulled a towel from one of their bags and balled it up, slipping it under Eddie’s head as a pillow.  Buck then pulled out the first aid kit and activated a cold pack, wrapped it in a triangular bandage and put it behind Eddie’s neck.  Eddie gave a tiny shiver as the cold slowly seeped into his skin, but once he was used to the sensation it was highly welcome.  He watched as Buck quickly pulled the tent out of his bag and began assembling it a few yards away between several of the small trees, then strung a tarp over the top of the tent, using the trees as anchor points.   It was a good plan; this way they’d have shade no matter which angle the sun shone down.  Eddie hated just lying there, watching Buck do all the work, but even he had to admit that he was in no shape to be helping.  He’d crumpled so fast just standing up; if he tried to do anything he was sure he’d fully pass out and stay unconscious.
Eddie chided himself internally as Buck spread one of the foam bedrolls they’d brought in front of the tent, scolding himself for not being more careful.  He’d been in the military in the desert for god’s sake, he should have recognized heat illness long before it had hit him so hard.
Buck returned to Eddie’s side and slowly sat him up, Eddie feeling a little foolish as he clung tightly to Buck’s arm as he rose.  Buck helped him get out of his drenched t-shirt and carefully move over to the bed roll, where he stretched out bare-chested, feeling extremely exhausted and grateful to be out of the sun completely; the tarp was doing an excellent job with the shade, and it was much darker too.  Buck slid the first ice pack back under his neck and activated their second – and last – ice pack, wrapping this one up as well and placing it on Eddie’s forehead.  Lastly, he lifted Eddie’s legs and pushed one of the bags beneath them, elevating his feet above his heart.
“There,” Buck huffed, sitting down on the ground in front of the tent entrance and right beside Eddie.  “I think I’ve done everything.”
“You did amazing,” Eddie told him thickly, his mouth feeling dry, his eyes fluttering.  All he wanted to do was sleep, but he knew Buck was going to keep him awake for the time being. Sure enough:
“Eds, don’t sleep just yet,” Buck said gently, stroking a hand through his sweat-damp hair.  They sat there together, Buck stroking his cheek or hair every time he nodded off. Time narrowed to something incalculable; instead of seconds, time was measured in periods of dozing, interrupted regularly by Buck’s touch.   Finally, Buck spoke again, startling Eddie out of a light sleep.
“How’s your temperature?  Is the ice helping?”
Buck took the ice pack from his forehead and pressed it against each of his warm cheeks in turn, either side of his neck.  He shivered.
“Yeah, it’s helping,” Eddie agreed, taking stock of himself.  He no longer felt quite as oppressively hot, though he was still very uncomfortable.  He could tell his core temperature had come down some, his brain not quite as foggy.  By that time, the sun was low in the sky, and Eddie squinted at the golden glow as Buck hovered over him.
“Good.  Now you need to drink.”   Buck slowly helped him sit up, setting one of the ice packs on his lap and positioning his non-dominant hand on top of it so that it pressed into his inner wrist, then handed him a water bottle.  Eddie, who was expecting water, took a drink and nearly choked as something tangy filled his mouth, startling him.
“Sorry, I put an electrolyte packet in,” Buck told him, laughing a little at the look on his face.  “I’ll warn you next time.”
Shaking his head slightly, Eddie began to drink, wrinkling his nose slightly at the taste of the drink.  He knew it was necessary, however; he’d probably sweat out most of his natural electrolytes.  Buck also made him eat beef jerky for the salt and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which Eddie tried but could not finish.  By the time he’d finished his bottle of electrolyte replacement, the beef jerky and half the sandwich, he was starting to fall asleep sitting up, the sandwich nearly slipping through his thumb and forefinger as his head drooped, his eyes closed.
“Drink a little more and then I can let you sleep,” Buck told him gently, poking him awake, and he forced himself to take the bottle and drink more, handing the half-eaten sandwich to Buck.  Eddie was so exhausted that he hardly noticed himself drinking, hardly noticed when Buck went into the tent and lay out the other bed roll for him.
Before long, and with many clumsy movements, Buck had him inside the tent and laid out on the foam roll, his head resting on one of the inflatable pillows they’d brought with them.  Buck made sure he was comfortable, then set the water bottle right beside him where it was easy to reach.
Buck gently stroked his forehead as Eddie slipped in and out of sleep, his conscious periods growing smaller and less frequent.  Finally, when he knew sleep was imminent, he forced himself to open his eyes and looked up at Buck, who was still sitting beside him, stroking his hair now.
“M’sorry I ruined everything,” he said slowly, sluggishly, though his voice still contained the apology he wanted to give.  “Stupid of me.”
“Eds, don’t,” Buck murmured, leaning down and giving him a gentle kiss. “You didn’t ruin anything, I promise.   You just sleep, okay?  I’m right here.”
Eddie tried to say ‘okay’ but it came out more like ‘kuh’, and then he was out, slipping into sleep almost instantly, knowing he was safe and cared for with Buck at his side.

any man of my brother's
for the maddie buckley square of my buddie bingo
buddie. rated T. wc 674
Maddie slots her key in the door and pushes it open into Buck’s loft. He’d said he’d swing by her place and pick up his jacket on the way to the airport, but she felt like going for a drive anyway, so here she is. Her brother is nowhere to be seen, but she hears faint music playing from somewhere above her. The unmistakable warbling of a Southern lady wafts over the railing.
“And anything I do or say better be okay when I have a bad hair day,” Buck’s voice rings out, hopelessly out of key. Maddie grimaces as she sets her bag down. This isn’t the first time she’s walked in on him dancing by himself to Shania Twain, but she figures he’d at least have a little decency to pretend he still doesn't do it. She did text him to say she was coming over.
She’s about to call out to him, but he slides into view, hairbrush in hand, just like his teenage self. “And if I change my mind-”
And then Eddie appears, a cowboy hat on his head and a goofy grin mirroring Buck’s. “A million times-”
“I wanna hear him say yeah,” Buck sings. He points the hairbrush at Eddie, alternating each for each of their lines.
“Yeah,” Eddie responds into the mic.
“Yeah-”
“Yeah-”
“Yeah, I like it that wayy!” They chorus. Eddie tosses his ridiculous hat to the side as they launch into the next verse.
Maddie watches in awe. They still haven’t realised she’s in the apartment. She’s kind of hoping they don’t.
She watches as Eddie curls his fingers into Buck’s belt loops and pulls him closer, his hands going from his jeans to the skin right above it under Buck’s shirt once he moves in. Buck doesn’t resist. His own hands land on Eddie’s butt as Eddie leans in more.
Eddie’s singing turns husky. Buck licks his lips as Eddie sings almost into his mouth, “Any man of mine better walk the line, better show me a teasin’, squeezin’, pleasin’ kinda time--”
Okay, there’s only so much Maddie can watch in good faith. She clears her throat as loudly and deliberately as possible. Both men turn like deers caught in headlights. She sees the colour drain out of Eddie’s face as it simultaneously floods Buck’s.
“Maddie!”
“Hi,” Maddie says, barely trying to conceal the shit-eating grin on her face.
The music stops, courtesy of Eddie, as Buck tramples down the stairs.
“What, uh, what’re you doing here?”
“I came to return your jacket. Why wasn’t I invited to this dance party? You know I love Shania Twain,” Maddie pouts. Buck’s face is redder than she’s ever seen.
“It wasn’t… planned,” Buck starts. “Eddie came over to help me pack for our Austin trip and he found that stupid hat - you remember that hat? I had it when I was on the ranch - and then we just-”
“Buck,” Maddie interrupts. “I was joking, it’s fine.” She glances past his shoulder where Eddie is meekly descending the stairs.
“I’m just gonna be… there,” Eddie says before quickly walking to the couch and shrinking into it. Maddie chuckles.
“Alright, I just wanted to come say have a safe flight. I’ll leave you to it now,” she winks at her brother. He groans.
“Please don’t.”
“Noted,” she says, picking up her bag. “Have fun there.”
“Wait, Mads, you… uh, you don’t wanna ask about… about this?” Buck asks, confused. Maddie smiles. She wants to say something along the lines of do you think we’re stupid? But he looks worried, and Maddie doesn’t have the heart to rub it in his face. Yet.
Instead, she squeezes his hand and says, “We’ll talk when you’re back, okay?”
Buck nods, relief washing over his face.
“See you, Buck. Bye, Eddie!” she calls.
“Later,” Eddie calls back.
As she closes the door behind her, she hears Buck ask if he wants to pick up where they left off. She shivers the thought away and grins. It’s about damn time.

Taking Smoke with my Coffee
For @911firstkissweek Day Five prompt "Coffee Shop AU" This also fills my "AU: Coffee Shop" square for @buddiebingo
Buck/Eddie, Gen, 3.9k (Read on Ao3)
"Order for Firefighter Diaz!"
Eddie knows that coffee runs have typically been deemed a Probie task. He did plenty of them when Bobby first recruited him to the 118. So, tradition dictates that it's supposed ot be Ravi getting them.
But Eddie gets to have a lot of nice things for himself. The things that make even his worst call days just a smidge better.
If anyone (Hen) is interrogating him for details, it's definitely the coffee he's referring to.
"I'm not in my gear, Buck," Eddie tells the barista when he approaches the counter.
The smile he looks forward to is waiting for him courtesy of the barista that makes even Eddie have to tip his head back a little bit to make eye contact. "Yeah," Buck drawls as he pushes the tray of coffee towards him, "but you're still on duty."

and then the spell was cast (at last)
"slow dancing" square fill for @buddiebingo
|| 5,162 words || rated T || magic canon divergence ||
part 5 of a thread of possibility [Buddie Bingo Round 3]
For two people as close as they are, Buck and Eddie don't touch nearly often enough. The list of reasons for that is long, and it starts and ends with all the ways their magic could go bad if they do. But even with the prospect of an explosive fallout, Eddie knows something's gonna give eventually and they'll have to find out.
"Eventually" comes when Buck fucks up a spell, binds them together, and successfully breaks that particular camel's back.
read on Ao3
finally, my first magic AU for buddie (and several more to come) because i fucking love magic AUs
reblogs are much appreciated!!! i legit got no followers in this fandom
