Hello! Not sure if this is how these are usually done here, but figured I would do a quick little intro :)

My name is Zero! I’m 27 and Canadian, and I’m hopping onto 9-1-1 Tumblr for the first time!

I’ve been casually following 9-1-1 since Stuck aired way back then, seeing the gifsets of #thosetwogayfirefighters all over the place, I knew I was gonna be hooked. I followed them over the years but got really into the fandom during season 7.

I’m a Buddie shipper through and through, and am a BT-anti. My fave characters are Eddie and Maddie but I love every main character, past and present. Let’s add Karen and Ravi to that list.

I’m a fanfic writer — on AO3 at PenOfPisces. One of my major projects over the summer was Buckfidelity and thanks to my friends and others alike we were able to make it quite a fun time.

I might do a better intro in the future, but wanted to get this out there so I can start making some pals on this app. ♥️

i love how in so many fics Buck is in love with Eddie and he knows it but is still with Tommy for a while because OF COURSE that messy bitch would do that. be in love with his best friend, not realize said best friend loves him back, seek him out all day, yet call some other guy his boyfriend.

Buckfidelity is truly just when Eddie’s like: yes, I’m totally straight, not being gay at all. Definitely not fucking your boyfriend behind your back. I would never do that. Because I am straight. And Tommy briefly believing him because Eddie is straight after all. So straight that he didn’t catch on to Tommy flirting with him at all! And then WHAM, Tommy discovers Buck and Eddie fucking on his front porch.

I have seen multiple people pissy about the Buckfidelity/Infideleddie fics because that’s not how they want buddie to start. To be clear we are having fun with FANFICTION. We don’t want them to get together in canon from cheating. We want buddie to get together when they are both single. Like if you don’t like the cheating trope don’t read that specific fic it’s literally that simple.

This also isn’t directed towards one person it’s multiple people I’ve seen complain on here and also TikTok

Everyone always says that the moment Eddie comes out as gay, Buck's cheating on Tommy.

However...

Instead of Buckfidelity we get Tommyfidelity.

Listen -

Eddie comes out as gay. YES Buck has a moment of realization where he's like "why does this make me feel weirdly about Eddie", meanwhile dealing with a declining interest in his actual bf, Tommy. He decides to focus on the latter rather than the former. He brings his concerns up with Maddie, and while she tells him he shouldn't have to feel obligated to stay with Tommy if he's not interested, Buck decides to try and make things work regardless.

Tommy, though, who has ALSO been feeling like he and Buck are drifting apart, tries to do to Eddie what he did with Buck except - except Tommy is NOT single. Tommy tries to lie (he's bad, plus Eddie would KNOW if Buck broke up with Tommy), then say that "Buck and I aren't working -" which makes Eddie angrier because he will NOT be used to cheat on his best friend.

So Tommy leaves asking Eddie not to tell Buck because it will just hurt him, and make him hate the both of them - oh btw Chris isn't back yet. So this frightens Eddie into thinking he will lose Buck, too.

This, coupled with Buck coming into work the next day talking about Tommy coming in last night and surprising him with a romantic date, and how he feels better about their relationship than he has these past few weeks, reinforces the idea of Eddie maintaining secrecy on Tommy's indiscretion.

However, Eddie can't be in the same room as Buck, alone, for longer than a few minutes at a time because the guilt eats away at him and he begins to spiral.

Then Buck confronts him and the truth is blurted out, leading to Buck dumping Tommy - less so because he cheated but more for cheating on him with Eddie, for making Eddie keep Tommy's secret (and also making him doubt he ever wanted Buck to begin with) and both men have to do introspection on -

Why withholding the truth from Buck felt different than his past relationships, for Eddie.

Why Tommy kissing Eddie was worse than him having cheated on Buck with a stranger, for Buck.

The answer for both being - love.

I've gotten so much done with Make Me Write this past week, and I thank y'all for helping me 🥰. I still have a few asks to answer, and hopefully that'll happen today (or tomorrow). In the meantime, have some Buckfidelity fic that I'm pretty happy with:

There's a fire crackling in his middle, one he hasn't felt in… years probably. He spares a thought for Marisol, and Tommy, and the fact he didn't think about either of them until now should probably say something about his character, but he finds he doesn't care too much with Buck's lower lip between his teeth. He reaches up, carding his fingers through the mess of sweat-damp curls at the back of Buck’s head, and holds him closer. Buck hums lowly and sucks on Eddie's tongue. The hand on his thigh is slowly making its way up, Buck’s fingertips trailing the inseam of Eddie's slacks. His index finger brushes Eddie's crotch and Eddie moans into the kiss, the slightest touch sending sparks along his spine. Buck pulls away, panting like he ran a marathon. “Eddie,” he says again, his voice wrecked. The bright blue of his irises are almost eclipsed by his pupils. His lips are swollen and spit-slick. There's a pretty pink tint to his cheeks, either from the alcohol or Eddie or both. Either way. He looks debauched from just one kiss. He looks beautiful, and he's Eddie’s. At least for now. He's Eddie's, just like Eddie is Buck's.
