Bubble Wrap for Packing in AU
Choosing the Right Bubble Wrap for Packing in Australia
Bubble wrap has become a staple for safely packing and protecting fragile items, whether youâre moving house, shipping products, or storing valuables. In Australia, where logistics and shipping are key to various industries, bubble wrap is an essential tool. But not all bubble wrap is created equal, and choosing the right type can make all the difference in protecting your items effectively. This guide will help you understand the different types of bubble wrap available in Australia and how to select the best one for your needs.
Why Bubble Wrap is Ideal for Packing
Bubble Wrap for Packing in AU provides an easy, effective, and lightweight way to protect items during transit. The air-filled bubbles cushion against impacts, reducing the risk of breakage and damage. Itâs flexible, allowing it to mold around oddly-shaped items, and offers a range of sizes to accommodate different packaging needs. Itâs also reusable and recyclable, making it a more sustainable choice than other packing materials.
Types of Bubble Wrap Available in Australia
Small Bubble Wrap: This type of bubble wrap has smaller, tightly packed bubbles, typically around 6mm in diameter. Itâs ideal for wrapping smaller items, electronics, and delicate items that need lightweight but effective cushioning. Small bubble wrap also works well for filling gaps in packages to prevent items from shifting during transit.
Large Bubble Wrap: Large bubble wrap has bubbles that are about 1cm in diameter, offering more cushioning and shock absorption. Itâs great for bulkier items and items that are more likely to be affected by impacts, such as furniture or larger fragile items. However, it can be bulkier and less flexible than smaller bubble wrap, so itâs best used for larger boxes or as a base layer in boxes.
Anti-Static Bubble Wrap: If youâre packing electronics, anti-static bubble wrap is a must. It prevents static buildup, which can damage electronic components. This type of bubble wrap is typically pink and is ideal for shipping or storing computers, mobile phones, and other sensitive electronic devices.
Environmentally Friendly Bubble Wrap: Many companies in Australia now offer eco-friendly bubble wrap made from recycled materials or biodegradable alternatives. This type of bubble wrap offers similar protection to traditional plastic varieties but is a more sustainable choice.
Tips for Choosing the Right Bubble Wrap
Consider the Itemâs Size and Fragility: Smaller, fragile items like glassware will benefit from small bubble wrap for closer protection, while larger items need the extra cushioning of large bubbles.
Think About Reusability: If youâre packing for a short move and may need to reuse materials, opt for high-quality bubble wrap that can withstand multiple uses.
Look for Eco-Friendly Options: With sustainability increasingly important, choosing bubble wrap made from recycled or biodegradable materials is a smart choice. Many Australian suppliers now offer environmentally friendly alternatives.
Where to Buy Bubble Wrap in Australia
Bubble wrap is widely available across Australia. Many office supply stores and hardware stores stock it, and it can also be purchased online from sites like Officeworks, Bunnings, and specialized packaging suppliers. Buying in bulk is often more cost-effective, particularly for businesses or frequent movers.
Final Thoughts
Bubble Wrap for Packing in AU remains one of the most reliable packing solutions in Australia. By selecting the right type for your needsâwhether itâs small bubble wrap for delicate items, large bubbles for furniture, or anti-static for electronicsâyou can ensure your items arrive safely. With the growing availability of eco-friendly options, bubble wrap has become not only effective but also more sustainable for everyday packing needs.

Drunk Over Holiday
-Pairing: Yoongi x Reader
-Genre: Fluff, holiday!au, officeworker!auÂ
-Word Count: 2k
-Warnings: mentions of alcohol, brief fboy!hoseok
-Synopsis: Part of the KwritersWorld Holiday Prompts Event! Prompt: âMerry Christmas to all and to all-wait, not you, I donât like youâ - A marketing team holiday outing ends quite differently than what you had expected.
-A/N: sorry the GIF doesnât match any of the actual content lolol. but hope you guys enjoy! writerâs block got me good for three months:( and also! itâs finals week ahh! wish me luck:P
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You were drunk to say at the least.
The marketing team for your office decided to have a holiday outing right before everyone went off on their well-deserved break.
The whole atmosphere of the kbbq place was lively, your co-workers mingling with one another and drinking between laughs. The Christmas lights and decorations on the sides of the bar also lightened the whole mood.
âWhoa,â your closest co-worker, Minji gasps after taking a sip of the beer-soju concoction.
You turn to her, shooting her a wobbly smile amused at how she stared at her cup in awe.
Minji turns to you with a wide smile. âY/N! This is so good!â
You match her grin and clink your glass to hers. âOf course it is! I maaade it!â
Your drunk self doesnât notice the weary look Minji shoots you.
âY/N,â Minji hisses, quickly noticing how drunk you became after only a mere hour since the holiday party started.
âWHAT!?â you shout, slamming down your glass and making the co-workers flinch.
Minji sighs, grabbing your glass and pushing it farther away. âItâs only been an hour. Howâre you already drunk?â
âNooo!â you whine, legs kicking here and there under the long table. âLeave me aloneee!â
Minji winces, quickly giving up and watching you down another drink as she takes a small sip of her own.
âKyaaa!â you shake your head, enjoying the bitterness in your throat, as the bubbly man next to you laughs.
âMust be happy that itâs finally holiday,â Hoseok states with a wide smile.
You donât spare him a glance, your mind too cloudy to comprehend what was going on.
âYou uh. . . have any plans?â
Minji shoots Hoseok a look, aware of how often the bright, but horny man hits on you. Sure he was kind, attractive, and hard-working. But he was also notorious for hitting on women to get in their pants.
âNope!â you say, popping the p. âNoo plans at all.â
You sigh, teetering as you pour a shaky glass of beer. âNo family. No friends. No hookups. No significant others. Nothing!â
Hoseok gulps, taking a long sip of his glass for more confidence and turns to you.
âI can be one.â
You side-eye him, hand lifting to down another shot. âPfft. What are you saying?â
âI can be one of your-â
âWha. . .â your unfocused eyes almost become focused for a second as someone snatches your glass out of your hands, interrupting Hoseokâs bold statement.
You whip around to look up and see your least favorite co-worker on the marketing team that you found yourself butting heads with often.
Min Yoongi.
There was a full year of beef between the two of you. Since you and Yoongi were in the same division under the marketing team, it was a given that you worked together the most. More often than not, you would see Yoongi outshining you in every project you guys had to individually propose or debate about. You would scowl every single time Yoongi smugly smirked at you whenever Seokjin favored his proposal over yours or when Yoongi proudly grinned whenever you were left at a loss of words during an argument at a meeting.
Needless to say, you and Yoongi were known to be rivals in the marketing department. It didnât help, however, that you were terribly attracted to him.
If only you knew that Yoongi was too. It seemed as though the whole department besides you and Yoongi were aware of the flirty tension that seemed to form in your heated arguments with each other.
Yoongi gulps down the beer as if it were water and makes it a point to slam it down in the little space between you and Hoseok.
You raise a curious brow as Hoseok shoots Yoongi an annoyed glare, Yoongi matching his heated stare.
âYouâre pretty late, Min,â your main team leader, Seokjin states from across the table, pausing in the middle of flipping over the pork slices. Seokjin shoots Yoongi a knowing look as he makes it a point for Hoseok to scooch over by sticking his foot in between you and the other man.
âTraffic,â Yoongi grunts, plopping in the seat without sparing Seokjin a single glance.
âWhyâre you here?â you point at the pale face that was already pouring himself a cup of beer. âHOW DARE YOU!â
Yoongi remains unbothered by your sudden yell while Minji and Hoseok turn to you with bewildered eyes and Seokjin loses hold of his tongs that clatter against the burning grill.
âY/N,â Seokjin sighs, refraining from facepalming. âHere. Drink some water. You need to sober up.â
A deep frown gets etched onto your face as Yoongi grabs the glass Seokjin offers you and places it in front of you.
âWhyâd ya take my beer?â you ask as you slam your head into Yoongiâs shoulder.
Only if you knew how humorous you looked right now.
âLike everyoneâs saying,â Yoongi says with a plain expression, disinterested eyes meeting yours.
The lack of care in his eyes makes you flinch, even in your drunken state. âYouâre too drunk. I was only doing you a favor.â
You snort, grabbing the first cup you see and cringing when you donât taste the bitterness and instead taste water.
âWhat are you to do me a favor, huh?â you mutter. âI can take care of myself.â
As the words leave your mouth, you suddenly feel a weird sense of sleepiness overtaking your body. You slump over, your vision turning black and the last thing you see is Yoongiâs blank eyes glinting in amusement.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âY/N,â a whisper irks you.
The familiar smell of meat and alcohol hits your nostrils, quickly reminding you of where you are.
âY/N,â the voice repeats. You crack open an eye to see Yoongi staring down at you with a small smile. âTime to go home.â
You lift yourself up, looking around to see that most of the employees under Seokjinâs management were gone. A few groups were still left, the only team leaders being Namjoon and Seona who seemed to be in deep conversation at the end of the table.
You feel Yoongiâs arm looping through yours as he helps you up from the table that was nearly empty around you.
âWhereâs everyone?â you slur, still not completely sober.
Yoongi grabs his jacket, slipping it on before stepping over the bench. âJungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung left for a second round with some of the others and Seokjin took Minji and Hoseok home since they were both knocked out.â
You nod, shakily swinging your legs over the bench and scanning around the restaurant for the exit.
âDonât forget your coat,â Yoongi mutters, reaching around you to grab yours that was laid out across the bench like a blanket. âYouâre going to get alcohol poisoning someday if you drink like that.â
You snort, a bit too drunk to care that Yoongi was currently wrapping your coat around your shoulders and retying your undone scarf in close proximity that allowed you to catch a whiff of the crisp minty smell he always had.
You lean forward as if his smell intoxicated you more than the alcohol.
âY/N, what are you doing?â Yoongi questions, his hands hesitantly tugging your shoulders away from him.
âYou smell good,â you frown, hands reaching out to grab the sides of his jacket and pulling him closer to you.
Yoongiâs eyes shoot wide open as he hastily yanks your hands off of his jacket.
âY/N!â he says firmly. âGeez. Whyâre you so bold when youâre drunk?â
You merely giggle at Yoongiâs words as he wraps his arm around your waist to help you out the door of the store.
âWaz the time?â you ask, swinging your arm over Yoongiâs shoulder for more support.
âAround one in the morning,â Yoongi answers promptly, trying to ignore the fact that you were nearly kissing his cheek. âWould you stay still?â
You huff at his words. âIâm trying to walk properly, okay?â
Yoongi rolls his eyes at your half-lidded ones that struggle to stay open as your legs twist under you.
âOh!â you say, pointing to a store that had a large Christmas tree right at the window and firmly place your feet on the ground. âItâs a Christmas tree.â
Yoongi sighs, gently letting go of your waist to glance at the brightly lit tree whose lights danced in front of him. Yoongiâs gaze switches over to you looking at the tree with a small blissful smile on your face.
âSo pretty,â you murmur, beginning to walk towards the store and now in earshot of the Christmas music playing on its speakers.
âDo you like music, Yoongi?â you ask without much thought, alcohol blurring your senses and making you unaware of how Yoongi visibly tenses.
âYeah, I guess,â he murmurs, hand going up to rub the back of his neck and gaze focusing on the loose rocks underneath his feet.
âMerry Christmas to you,â you start singing in the tune of âHappy Birthdayâ making Yoongi turn to you with a curious eye. âMerry Christmas to youuu!â
Yoongi snorts as your arms start raising up above your head, a clear sign that you were still horribly drunk.
âMerry Christmas to all and to all- wait. Not you. I donât like you,â your nose scrunches as your statement interrupts the scratchy melody.
Yoongi grins at your expression, as you sigh in distaste.
âYou donât like me?â he asks, a playful glint in his eye as you look away from his cute smile and decide to stare down at your pumps.
âNo,â you grunt, your hands shuffling in your pockets and head ducking into your scarf as you begin walking down the street again.
You relish in the warmth your scarf brings your face as it blocks the bottom half of your face from the harsh cold winter air.
âWhy not?â Yoongi asks, his lips slightly jutting out unconsciously.
Your eyes flicker over to him at his change of tone, quickly noticing an unfamiliar expression.
You snort at the sight. âMin Yoongi. Are ya pouting right now?â
âWhat? No,â his pout turns into a frown. âYouâre drunk.â
âYup. And yur totally not pouting,â you laugh.
Yoongi grabs your wrist, preventing you from stumbling forward.
âBe careful,â he mutters, breath hot against the shell of your ear.
You twist your wrist out of his grip and step a full three feet away from him.
âWHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO HOT!?â you scream, pointing an accusatory finger at Yoongiâs face. âYOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO POUT AND THEN SUDDENLY DECIDE TO BE HOT!?â
Yoongiâs eyes are blown wide, his mouth slightly sputtering in shock.
âWha-What. Y/N-â
âNO!â you raise a finger, stepping closer to him. âNo no no no. Shut your cute, little, kissable mouth and LISTEN TO ME!â
Yoongiâs lips curve into a smirk and he nods. âIâm listening.â
âI. . . donât like you,â you mutter, head turning this way and that. âNo. I hate you. Your such a- such a freaking hot, hard-working, diligent, cute, pouty little kitten!â
âKi-Kitten?â Yoongi raises a brow, making you stomp your feet and turn your back towards him.
âDonât LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!â you cry. âSTOP LOOKING ATTRACTIVE.â
You feel a weight on your shoulder and before you know it, your body is spinning around to face him.
âY/N,â Yoongi sighs. âI... hope youâre too drunk to remember this.â
âWhat? Why-MMp.â
Your eyes widen in surprise as a soft sensation meets your lips. The cloudiness you felt before is gone, the alcohol no longer feeling as if it were in your system.
Instead, Yoongiâs minty smell drifts over and smothers you as his lips tentatively move against yours.
Your eyes finally close, hands gripping around his shirt collar and pulling him closer if possible.
If you and Yoongi werenât so drunk in each other, you wouldâve noticed Mariah Careyâs voice growing louder, the lights on the decorative trees around you glowing brighter, and the soft snow that starts to fall for the first time this year.

[image description: a pack of pale pink heart-shaped bubble-wrap sitting on a round red and green watermelon slice pillow, the pillow sitting on a black, white and blue mottled quilt cover. The pink bubble-wrap has bubbles shaped like cartoon hearts and is housed inside a clear plastic sleeve bag bearing the Daiso Japan logo, a picture of a bag of items wrapped inside the pink bubble-wrap and finished with a bow, and assorted text in English and Japanese. The main English text reads âCushion sheet with heart-shaped bubblesâ and â60 cm x 80 cmâ.]
Heart-Shaped Bubble-Wrap - Daiso, $2.80 AUD.
You can buy ordinary bubble-wrap at just about any discount, department or stationary store--Iâve seen it at K-Mart, The Reject Shop, Daiso, Officeworks, Bunnings, most supermarkets... It isnât reusable, but it isnât difficult to cut off a strip or square from a larger roll to stash in your stim kit and replace when needed, and you can usually buy a lot for not too much money. K-Mart has a 5 metre roll for $5 AUD!
Daiso, though, has this fancy heart-shapped pink bubble-wrap. The hearts are a little larger than most bubbles, meaning that thereâs fewer bubbles to pop per sheet, but they pop just the same as any other wrap.
If youâve got someone who likes popping bubble-wrap and you want to give them something a little bit fancier for stimming, this is absolutely perfect.

Note
I'm not autistic, but I suffer from a sensory disorder- and when I receive too much stimulation, I tend to pick at my skin. It hurts, but it's a stim right at my fingertips, pun intended. Do you know any good silent classroom fidgets? Anything easy to hold in your hand during crowded, loud, bright passing periods? Thank you so much!!
Sweet anon (and everyone, actually), you never, never have to explain that youâre not autistic here. Never. This is a space for all neurodivergent folk and people with any disability, illness or condition who might find stimming helpful for whatever reason. (If you think stimming helps you in some way, you count.) Youâre all welcome here, all of you, and Iâll answer any questions you have as best I can. If you want to share your background, by all means, but never feel you have to. This is not an autistic-only or autistic-focused space. Itâs a stimming space!
Iâll be honest: this is something I struggle with as well. So Iâm trying to find replacement stims for when I feel the need to pick, too.
If you want to go for stealth stims, kneadable erasers. (Art supply stores, office supply stores. I got mine from Officeworks, brand name Faber Castel. Iâve also seen Mont Marte ones in dollar shops and scented ones at Daiso.) You donât have to explain this to anyone and you can pull, stretch, twist and pick it. Like putty but portable. They cost around $3.50 AUD here, so theyâre not very expensive, either.
I also have the most amazing case eraser (Officeworks, $2 AUD) which Iâll photograph because I cannot describe it without an image:
[image description: a rounded plastic eraser module in three parts: a clear red plastic brush cover bearing the word âcapsuleâ; a blue plastic base with a pale blue plastic brush attached to the bottom and a rounded raised thumb rest covered with raised dots with a white round eraser attached the top of the base; and a blue plastic cover for the eraser. Text âMilanâ is printed on the cover.]
I have no idea if these are still available: I bought one on clearance, realised how fabulous it was, went back, found none. The brush makes a slight noise when you run a finger over it, but the cover feels like a worry stone and I mostly just run a fingertip over the thumb rest. Milan makes a lot of erasers with unusual covers, all of them pretty fidget-friendly, but this one is the best of the best. I wish I had more of them; theyâd be in every bag I own.
Lastly, a chenille pencil case is stealth and super stimmy, and you might find poking/pulling at the chenille fronds offer you an alternative to picking.
As for non-stealth stims: squishies, small plushies, most stress balls (the stretchy squish ball, available from Stimtastic online or Lincraft here in Australia, is fabulous), balloon stress balls, a marble loop, a marble maze, a fluffy or tassel keychain, a worry stone or a prickle fidget are all absolutely silent.
The Hairy Tangle makes a very slight rubbery noise when you stretch the fronds. (People not me probably donât even notice it.) No clicking, unlike any other Tangle Iâve handled. Plus you can pull/pick at the fronds! And it has no rubbery smell! Itâs got texture and movement and offers several different ways to stim with it, so if you donât mind obviously stimming, Iâd recommend trying this one. Itâs fabulous and I need to remember to use it more than I do.
Play-Doh is pretty quiet. Iâve noticed my putties and slimes tend to bubble and crackle, though (Iâve got some that bubble so much itâs like playing with never-ending bubble wrap) so I wouldnât use them in a classroom.
Puffer creatures can be quiet, but mine make noise when I pull the fronds, so theyâre probably only useful for poking or running your hands through the fronds. A tassel keychain should be better for absolutely-quiet stimming whilst offering something that can be picked and pulled, if youâre looking for a stim that fills that picking need. You can also attach it to a pencil case, so itâll be fairly stealth as well!
(A simple alternative to this could be an embroidery thread friendship bracelet, the kind that ties in a knot around your wrist and leaves dangling threads, like a tassel. @threadytogoâ makes them in pride and fan themes!)
Other fidgets that might work, and are surely stealth enough, include fidget jewellery items like telephone cord bracelets and snake necklaces, especially if you want some back-up toys to wear in case youâre like me and lose/forget the toy you mean to bring to class. I donât get quite the hand-holding fidget experience from some of these, though, so Iâd probably have them as back-up fidgets.
Standard stim toys like Tangles and puzzles all make some noise, and if youâre like me, that noise makes you feel self-conscious about making noise, even if it actually doesnât bother anyone else.
If my followers have something in their collections they can attest is silent and suitable for our anon, please add them! I know a super common toy rec is a spinner ring, but I donât own one myself and canât confirm how completely silent they are when used gently/slowly. If someone can confirm, Iâd be grateful.
I hope this gives you somewhere to begin!
