LMFAO no..i don't have a linked in.

i think it varies based on what you're on social media for obviously. and i have all of them! ppl i went to high school with who never left town and got married and had 4 kids are on facebook. instagram is very normal. twitter is for either being a blue check and writing think pieces or farming for interactions OR being 14 years old and on fandom twitter. theres like very little middle ground. tumblr has ALWAYS, to me, been the best place for a 20s/30s person to interact with a fandom and i say that as someone who has been on this same blog from the ages of 14-30. which is REALLY upsetting for me to say! i hate being 30.

but like i said, i have accounts on all of the main platforms. i use facebook to stalk ppl i don't care about and to post major life milstones if i feel like flexing (which i rarely do lmfao). instagram i only use if i've gone on a trip/shows/monthly dump. but i open it daily to look at my explore page or see what friends have posted. i also use my story on there. but for nothing important. twitter i do use regularly but i think it sucks now and i dont feel welcome in fandom convos on there due to my age. tumblr is perfect. also due to the fact that the sponsored/suggested content on here is minimal whereas on twitter its almost all i see. and yes i get stuck in rabbit holes on there and on insta but i dont feel like i gain anything from it, whereas going on tumblr is more of a mindful experience for me. insta/twitter are mindless but if i go on tumblr im actually engaged. and like i said, there has always been more room for ADULTS on tumblr. a lot of us have grown up on here and some people maintain their interests and some people shift but i feel like i genuinely know the strangers i follow on here more than i do on any other platform, and i also dont follow people randomly on those apps as much as i do on here.

so idk if i went too in depth but no i dont feel relegated to linkedin since im 30 now. i think tumblr is genuinely the best social media, in general, but also for someone my age who is interested in interacting with fandom content....just because i dont see much mcr right now doesn't mean i'll leave. i think this is the best space espeically for if you have intricate thoughts on a subject or want to create content.

also btw i dont have tiktok and i never will, i see plenty of the 'good ones' on other social media

Alright lets do this really quick.

So what is this about? This is a sideblog (my Main is @cylieria-the-dragonrider btw) for me to dump my art and stuff because sometimes I want to post that. Most of the time I am to self-consious about it but i try working on that. Anyways with everything happening on insta with meta rn i decided to put this stuff here.

I am just doing all of this for fun so dont expect me to post suuuper regularly (also I manage to distract myself waaaay to much Most of the time)

The Most things you will See on here is stuff about my dnd characters. I love making those and drawing them. But unfortunatley Most of them I never get to play. So recently i had the BRILLIANT idea of putting them all in a group and have them go on adventures, play Out there character arcs and so on (you know, stuff that you play in your head when you're bored at work)

But since I found i forget that way too soon I started to write it down. Now i am Not a good writer (also Not suuper good at drawing either) but I try. So I will Most likely post some written stuff in between my drawings and such. Tho its Not a continual Story and more like different scenes i thought off that i wrote down lol.

I might make a post where i link the written posts to create somewhat of a chronological order but idk yet. Also the written things kinda circle around two "stories" (one that has the actual Main group and a second one that Deals with another character that is separate from the group)

I will give an introduction to the characters and so on in a different post. When i remember to do it.

But yeah thats it for now. Hope you made it through all that weird intro stuff here. And if you are interested in the mediocre at best stuff I produce, check Out this Blog once in a while. ^^

hey miss impressionist! hope you're having a great day! it has come to my attention that you are french and i'd love to ask you what are your favorite "secret" places to go to in your country/city hahaha i ask this bc i'll be spending a few months in france (somewhere near paris) for an exchange program and i want to visit the tourist-y spots of course but also i'd love to know what the locals think is a good place to visit. if you don't want to answer that's totally fine just thought i'd ask since you're one of the few french blogs i follow! merci et bonne journée ☺️

Hey ! No problem, I'm always happy to help 😄 But all of France is a lot so today I'll start with my city : Paris (I'll try to think of places in France as a whole and I'll make a post this weekend or next week).

It's a well-known spot but I highly recommend the docks btw Hôtel de Ville and Bastille & Le port de l'Arsenal. They've been renovated a few years ago and now they're fully pedestrian, there's patches of grass, stuff for kids, some bars... It's one of my favorite places to walk or sit down with friends.

If you like modern buldings, I recommend going to Avenue de France. There's lots of brand new buildings, all different and it creates a cool aesthetic in my opinion. There's not much to do there as it's mainly office buildings so it might be too out of your way though.

But the 13th arrondissement as a whole is really great, it's a mix of completely different atmospheres and architectures : brand new office buildings (Avenue de France-Bibliothèque François Mitterand), chinatown (Porte d'Ivry-Olympiades), old narrow streets with tiny houses scattered around, la Butte aux Cailles (on a hill, as charming and full of life as Montmartre but less well-known and artsy), there's lot of street art (around Nationale-Quai de la gare), especially huge colorful pieces paid by the local administration, etc.

And just across Avenue de France there's Le Parc de Bercy, which is beautiful if the weather is good ! I really recommend taking several hours and walking around the arrondissement if you can

If you want big green spaces you can access with the subway, you can go to le Bois de Boulogne or Le Bois de Vincennes. I'm more familiar with the latter, which has lots of beautiful spots ! My favorites being the Daumnesil lake (you can rent a boat and row around it if the weather is warm enough! + lots of swans, peacocks, bright green parakeets etc) and Le Parc floral, which has lots of plants and flowers and is perfect for a walk or if you need a picnic space to lazy for hours. It's stunning in spring ! But be careful because sometimes you have to pay to enter on weekends. Fun fact : at the Daumnesil lake, you can see two African buildings ! They were constructed as the Togo and the Cameroon pavilions for a colonial exposition (😶) in 1931 and it's now a Buddhist temple which hosts the highest Buddha statue in Europe.

In a different vibe, the petite ceinture is also great. It's an old railway that went around Paris, now it's reconverted either as parks or as a walk along the old rails which are full of wild vegetation. The reconversion isn't complete so it's in several chunks in different neighborhoods, some better done than others. But I really like the one between Villa du Bel-Air and Bastille (this chunk is also called Coulée verte for the most part)

Just outside of Paris, I highly recommend going to Montreuil, to a place called Les Murs à pêches. It's a place where peaches used to grow but now it's a huge park where lots of tiny organizations doing their own thing. Every summer there's a land art festival and last year I went on a guided tour with the organization TIGE (tige_landart on insta), it was awesome !

An interesting thing to visit, and maybe not that well-known, is la Cité universitaire internationale. It's a campus where international students live and there's practically a building for every country. The funny thing is that lots of them are designed based on that country's architecture !

If you're into plays, my favorite theater is Le Théâtre de Poche at Montparnasse. There's only two tiny stages and I love the atmosphere ! It's low-budget productions but of high quality, and they're recognized as such. I've seen several plays there and I've never been disappointed.

If you want a funny experience, go see a show at La Nouvelle Seine. It's on a narrow boat ! You're in the belly of the boat (can't remember the word lmao) and you can feel the tiny waves ahah. I know it's not the only venue on a narrow boat though.

About museums that don't get enough recognition, I really like le Musée d'art et d'histoire du judaïsme !

If you want food recommendations in specific neighborhoods, don't hesitate to ask, I've got lots ! My favorite restaurant (Le Picotin) isn't in an interesting neighborhood to visit unfortunately but my go-to bar/café is near Hôtel de Ville ! It's called Le Gribouille, they have great cocktails and mocktails that aren't too pricey (for Paris at least) ! @saecookie can confirm hehe

if i remember correctly, i think you do music journalism right? if so, did you go into it with a lot of knowledge about the music scene? i want to do music journalism but i'm scared that i don't know enough about it :/

hiii yes i started about a month ago and I think I've gathered most of my music knowledge throughout books, youtube videos, interviews, and even Tumblr posts.

for starters i think you should begin by watching videos on yt abt the genres/movements/artists etc ur interested in or simply the ones that seem interesting to you. my favorite channels for that are trash theory, mic the snare, polyphonic and rock n roll true stories. they all share really interesting and fun facts/stories or full on essays on a song or an album or tell u the entire history of how certain genre came to be etc. my favorites are polyphonic and trash theory btw.

watching these videos will inevitably lead u to search interviews and articles on a certain topic and i think what's really amazing about music history is how it's all connected like rn I'm reading meet me in the bathroom and I'm so glad i read please kill me first bc it just feels more adequate and makes u feel the magic of it all yk. I'd also recommend looking around the artist tag on here bc there's also lots of content on tumblr (like damonalbarnunofficial yk they're like god) and find these blogs that know what they're talking about. some of my knowledge also comes from reading my mutuals posts yk <3

and i think what will help you the most especially on terms of the music scene is reading books written by those who have been part of it or the ones that document it. it depends on which scenes u are most interested in but some of the ones I've read are please kill me, girl in a band by kim gordon, i dreamt i was a very clean tramp by richard hell, just kids by patti smith, afternoons with the blinds drawn by brett anderson, neon angel by cherie currie and while we were getting high by kevin cummins (it's mostly photographs but includes some trivia/the story about how the pic came to be etc.) and rn im reading meet me in the bathroom so these are the ones i could recommend. but there's also lots more like our band could be your life, face it, etc etc just read the ones that attract u. also all these books are free to download on zlibrary<3

i think another fun thing is to read about certain interesting journalists like legs mcneil, lester bangs, lizzy goodman, etc.

idk if u also have questions abt that but im gonna say it anyway lol. as for becoming a journalist my advice is make an Instagram account and find as many magazines from your country as u can. international magazines are obviously good as well but in my experience they're better for submitting certain articles and making ur cv look good lol which is great but it'll be more likely to get hired by a national magazine as that's where you're based and they can actually send u to a certain show/festival or even cover your local music scene. keep active on insta even if it's just to check their accounts bc they do post a lot of opportunities mostly on stories to either be officially a part of their team or to intern with them etc so i think in this day and age this is easiest and maybe only way to be a music journalist.

and also don't worry about not knowing Everything u don't have to know all about a certain genre or artist just start with what u know and research what interests u and it'll all come to u dw <3 good luck i hope this was helpful!!!<333

Yes OC means “original character”. Those characters are like part of my family...on the imaginary world realm, hehe! 💫 My story is so old but it roughly remained the same actually. Somehow, I often think that if I didn’t feel compelled to make this story I wouldn’t be drawing at all. Art and story making go hand in hand to me. And after I conclude this one, I might retire from illustrating (again) altogether since I’m not a very imaginative person (it’s pretty hard for me to come up with new original compelling story ideas) - but who knows, I might actually come up with new ideas along the way by the time I finish this one. HOWEVER, I shouldn’t build castle in the air since I didn’t even begin anything yet..!! lol

You know, I’m pretty much out of the loop too when it comes to the illustrator scene. It’s been almost 10 years since I left this scene so I guess I’m oblivious to a bunch of new poppin’ hot things happening out there.

@wonder-kya gave me some tips concerning comic websites. My biggest struggle is competition & demotivation, and since I’m definitely NOT a very competitive person, I often felt heavily discouraged about my own abilities compared to amazing artists, so I’m adamant in choosing a media where I’m comfortable and not feeling peer pressured in any way. I’ll seriously inspect those websites once I’m ready to publish something and choose the one I'm the most comfortable with. I might open a side insta page too...but I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend anymore time on social medias (Tumblr is the one where I'm the most active. My Pinterest is mostly for "professional" purpose (inspi/moodboards), and I'm pretty much inactive on Instagram where I'm mostly lurking & FOMOing witnessing people enjoying the best of their lives LOL I wish I'd spend less time out there dwelling myself into this toxic energy 😓)
