I unfortunately can't find the poll about locaring the US-States, but it inspired me to do a poll about locating countries in the EU. We never had to learn the US states (obviously, I guess), but we did have to learn the countries at some point, so I'm really curious.

disclaimer: this is a first attempt test with no prep, so if you do poorly, don't feel bad. I find this site is a very helpful tool when it comes to learning where countries in general (or US states) are located, and if you're interested in it, you'll get better in no time! I promise! :) Knowing where certain countries are located makes it a lot easier to understand historical events, cultural influences and contemporary politics, which makes it useful and fun. This isn't a marker for intelligence and this poll isn't intended to be condescending or mean-spirited.

btw showrunners and writers and even actors absolutely monitor these forums/the internet. you are all foolish if you dont believe so. not only does the fuckin translate button exist, capitalist pieces of shit tend to be able to speak english. move on. look i liked this drama, and i love sensuality and sexuality which i think these two brought and is sorely lacking in ALL media but particularly with asian media (and yes including queer asian stuff). i liked what they did with the fl and the subversion and i could talk about that all day long—hee joo is incredible to me.

i could even put a radical spin on what the creators were doing and what people think that ‘mistranslation’ meant but at the end of the day, orienting myself as an artist who is antagonistic to a concrete display of, at the very least, cowardice in cowering to our capital overlords and empire AND empire itself, and as a critical thinker, i am tired. i am sad people put their comfort over the real lives of people and i’m angry at my own inertia. artists pride themselves on being progressive, we are supposed to be thinkers, opening our and ppls worlds, and sacrifice ourselves for upheaval. we arent doing that. and south korea has to contend with their contribution to what this looks like and allowing their culture to be folded into the people who wanted it destroyed.

this isnt as bad as snowdrop at all but it decimated their credibility as it should. i refuse refuse refuse to live like this. you should too.

And since everyone is like “ur not helping the cause” (that they barely know anything about anyway) ok LET me help. Hopefully you do not report this post or mods delete it. i am sharing information and words that so many people seem to want and say they are not hostile to:

if you can please donate to a gfm a friend is managing (link below) and SHARE it with people. if you can, donate to other mutual aid efforts and especially black families in LA, afro palestinian families, afro workers in lebanon, and sudanese gfms as those are often looked over even more. search for these on twitter; i dont know all their twitter names directly but this should orient you towards them: munigaza, gazafunds, sudanfunds, khartoum food kitchen, the user mothtongue_ posts many GFMs and not only for palestinians.

To artists especially: get involved. we ONLY ONLY ONLY have each other. dont fall behind guys and buckle up. trust your ability to engage with and dissect media and art, be critical of it, love it, and do not lie about it to yourself. nothing—not a single goddamn thing—is apolitical and LEAST OF ALL art. and remember you are supposed to be ones who can think critically, if you fashion yourself as progressive or whatever the fuck, you are not supposed to be like everyone else. no one is telling you that you cannnot enjoy a show or art. tighten up and get over the idea of personal comfort. it isn't a big deal. we are alive and god willing your geography if ur in america has kept you moderately safer.

I dont think it's bollywood (imsorry if im wrong or sound stupid and i hope i dont offend you) but i used to watch this tamil movie called "3"? It was pretty sad but the acting from the two main leads were so damn good idk but your nct as bollywood songs just reminded me of that movie (again im sorry if this came off like i was generalizing the whole of india i swear im not im just dumb and bad at geography and the in-depth knowlege of race even my own tbh)

anyways the movie 3 you are talking about yeah i didnt know it since im form the northern part of the country so i dont know many tamil films (southern part) but i just looked it up and i at least happen to know the actors so im pretty sure the movie would have been a great one to watch too they're both extremely incredible!! plus a psychological drama so yeahhhhhh.. did you like the movie??

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”

-hey y’all! we got us a real director on our hands! This film is visually alive!

-(Set pieces! Creative camera placement! Unusual editing! Wowee!)

-this film is great: second only to the original “Jurassic Park” for me

+not coincidentally, the horror is the most amped up its been since that entry

-starts off smartly with a creepy, underwater sequence, complete with excellent use of shadows (in this case-of the sea creature)

-whereas the first “world” attempted to chide us with jaded feels about being awed, this film, through sheer directorial, craft, does inspire wonderment

-dinosaurs be causing shenanigans again, aided by human greed

-although the plot is mostly whatever, I will give it credit for having a child worth caring about, a chance to see our two leads bond slowly, and visual footage of Pratt’s character actually training and bonding with the dinosaur (why the fuck wasn’t this in the first film?)

-so many people in the audience seemed more interested in “the lore” of the series that they let it get in the way of a Spanish horror director giving some of the best visual treats in a major blockbuster in a long time

+ I say, focus on what it does well, on enjoying a film for its strengths, not trying to appear smarter than or “figure out” a film

-dinosaurs dealing with a exploding volcano is art, if you have the convictions

-I cannot believe director J.A. Bayona made me feel sad for a brontosaurus as it does its death crawl. Incredible

-the conceptual ambition and screen juggle of all the dinosaurs (notably as they fall to the ocean to avoid lava) is breathtaking

-seriously, some shots were so Argento like, all that was missing was Goblin (or similar prog)

-that is a great thing in my book

-can brilliant directing overcome a so so script +Yes; yes it can

-it’s quite hard for me to pick a favorite scene, but the floating oner shot as Howard and Smith try to escape the pod had my immediate attention

-the use of lighting (peep the indoraptor climbing down into the bedroom) is effective tricks resurrected

-I’m happy to say that genuine humor (context based and frame as playground) has re-entered the series

-the hard head dinosaur bowling over the cartel buyers is “three stooges” / “evil dead” worthy

-the entire audience was howling as the super raptor played with its tail and and opened its eye to the audience(but not the character)

-when the auctioneer ran like a coward, and his hair was afluffed, I wasn’t the only one to get trump imagery/mockery

-this is my preferred discourse, btw, does this person make a good candidate for lunch meat

-what a delightful, nightmare logic driven film

-Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are used far, far better here

-Howard herself also looks breathtakingly beautiful; the gaffer must have a field day lighting her

-notice how Bayona had his camera directly under the super raptor so that it dominates the frame and scares us

-for that matter notice how the camera is always playfully moving

-it’s the frame as playground, the blocking (not the cutting) as the force behind our eyes. That’s great directing

-classic (visual) misdirection on the fate of the bad guy

-I suspect that all this human clone stuff will mean something in a future entry, but who cares because people are getting killed with painterly quality

-I love how this film does not give a fuck about sheer manipulation of geography to give us a girl scarred in her bed

-this makes me think of how the scary mansion needs to come back more

-the action on the super raptor falling to its death and then Blue jumping to touchdown pose is so fluid I can cry

-after a dismal first course, the second meal more than makes up for it; sheer blast, monster movie goodness, the horror I wanted to see in my dinosaur tales. A real hoot. One I wanna see again
