My friend loves BTS so this was only a matter of time…

So I know he’s meant to be annoying but everything about him that annoys the other unappreciative characters just makes me love him more and more. Or maybe he’s so annoying (to others) that it collapsed in on itself so that actually he can never be annoying?

The only way that btvs Angel is better than ats Angel is that in btvs he is the damsel in distress. I get that he’s the main character in ats and he’s the only member of the Fang Gang with supernatural strength but the show just would’ve been so much better if Angel had a bit more distress in his inner damsel. Here’s some ways I feel like ats could’ve been better (ignoring bts factors like actors having obligations to other shows)

• It would’ve been more of an ensemble show (ats is one of the extremely rare exceptions where the show got better as the group got bigger)

•in order to justify one of the most dangerous vampires in history needing to be rescued so much they would’ve had to have come up against more creative and interesting bad guys (let Angel get magically pregnant instead of Darla or Cordelia again)

•this means that how they would rescue him would also have to be more creative and interesting

•Gunn would’ve had more opportunities to show how good he is at leading and strategizing

•We could really delve into Wes’ Watcher training

•Cordelia could’ve become a half demon earlier on and it could’ve had some more fun consequences, like maybe some minor super strength or some kind of magical affinity beyond her visions. Maybe she can breath fire now, I don’t know. The possibilities are endless

•Instead of dying, Darla could’ve survived and they would occasionally go to her for help rescuing Angel like they did with Lorne. And obviously Darla would help rescue the father of her child

•A good excuse to have Faith join the gang back in season 1. Or later. It doesn’t super matter when so long as it’s on at least a semi-permanent basis until she has to go back to Sunnydale

•Would help send the message that being a champion for good on behalf of the Powers that Be isn’t so much about punching out bad guys but about helping people

•It’d be fun to watch the dynamics of the group slowly shift from Angel being the leader and Cordelia being the heart to Angel being the heart and Cordelia being the leader

•Would make the moments where he unleashes himself/Angelus gets unleashed way more impactful

I’m definitely not saying that he should’ve been in need of rescuing every single episode, but I do want him to be in need of rescuing more often than any of the other characters. It’d be so much fun

Guess James wanted the look but wasn't keen of paying the big bucks for the original. // I don't think price was the issue, the new superman is supposed to be 25 years old (the new batman will be younger too, apparantley around 30 years old) + there's been rumours of Gunn disliking Cavill for years now.

I'm very confused how Jensen was even considered for it? He's 20 years too old and he doesn't even look remotley like Clark Kent. His fans seriously need to lay off the crack and stop forcing him down people's throats

I didnt know about Gunn disliking Cavil rumors (I VERY loosely follow the news about DC/Marvel BTS/ castings nowadays cause I pretty much in my superhero fatigue era), but you're right. I just thought since they made sure Cavill dropped The Witcher, they would stick with him. And if needed, CGI a younger version of him, like Marvel did to Samuel L Jackson (Fury) in Captain Marvel. But that might have been more costly than actually hiring another actor within the age bracket they're looking, so Gunn went for a younger actor.

As for JA, he has never been considered for DC's Super-Man, much less short listed for it. What is happening right now is that some of his fans are working for small entertainment websites (or creating their own) to write articles linking his name to anything DC/Marvel or whatever is the flavor of the week Jensen talks about in cons. And since for news like these, there's no requirement for legitimate sources, its easy to make it look like authentic news. Then it gets pick up by larger websites and boom, another Jensen was 'shortlisted for Captain America' urban legend, all over again.

I agree, there's not the way to win good will to an B-list/C-list actor from general Audience with the way his fans act.

I feel lik a lot of ppl in the industry hav a lot of faith in Jacob being a movie star. Putting him over Flo, Anya and Paul Mescal who have either lead films or just, imo, are more known (even if its more in the indie world), is wild lol. Ik his team is really trying to push him, from other podcasters saying hes the nxt movie star (then mentioning him being tall n handsome- good for him bt the fact that they always mention his height), or even Deuxmoi loving him ever since he n Kaia wuld somehow always b spotted everywhere, even when it was the pandemic ☠️ neither one of them r are/were slick lol. And Deuxmoi enforcing those Superman rumors n his team saying he was offered a audition bt he turned it dnown bt james gunn nt knowing who he was 🙃 his team doing they job i guess

With JE, I can kinda see why he's pushed so hard.

First off, he's FOREIGN. Hollywood looooves themselves some foreign actors lol. It doesn't even matter where you're from honestly lol. As long as you're NOT American, you're considered way more in demand, and more..."exotic" lol 😆

Second, like you said, he's extremely tall. He automatically commands attention just from his height alone. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This might be an unpopular thought in these parts, but I always kinda suspected that Kaia got with JE when he was Euphoria's next "it guy", but when he didn't do much or have much lined up during the pandemic (let's face it, he went through a slow phase lol 👀), Kaia said, "NEXT!!" 🤣

I just found it funny how she was gushing about him one minute, and then, the next minute, they've broken up, and next thing you know, she's dating Austin lol 👀

Just shows how quickly things can change I guess. She was smart though, she got with Austin BEFORE Elvis came out and his star really rose up before other women had their chance with him lol 🤭

Wrestling World presents Wrestling Maniacs: JUNE 1999

BAM BAM BIGELOW: IS HE FOR REAL??

He’s big, he’s bad, he’s bald! He’s Bam Bam Bigelow and he’s after Goldberg! The man known as “The Beast of the East” will soon let the wrestling world know that he is “for real” as he continues to make life miserable for Bill Goldberg and anyone else who stands in his way!

MONDAY night television record breaking wrestling WCW Nitro was recently interrupted as a man with a head full of tattoos walked out. Bam Bam Bigelow emerged and let it be known that he wanted Goldberg and he wanted him now. The announcements proclaimed that this man “does not work for our company!” He stomped through the crowd and security held him back. He demanded to wrestle Goldberg and, yes, the fans wanted to see it. 

Even though this man did not work for WCW, Eric Bischoff probably felt he had to prove something. Bigelow was most recently seen in ECW, and Bischoff wanted to prove that Goldberg was better than any wrestler in ECW. He agreed to allow the match, but the match never took place. As Goldberg stood in the smoke, the huge Bigelow jumped Goldberg from behind. They brawled back and forth until there was another pull-apart. Within a hour Bam Bam Bigelow went from being a ECW main-eventer to successfully challenging one of the top men in the business of pro wrestling!

When Scotty Bigelow was born on September 1, 1961 no one would have imagined this New Jersey-native would grow up to be the monster he is now. Rumored to have been a bounty hunter before getting into pro wrestling, he always left a mark everywhere he has ever wrestled. The man known as the “Beast From the East” is on a  mission to win the WCW World title and many feel he may be one of the few men who could actually beat Goldberg.

Bigelow made his debut in the sport in the ‘80s and is trying to make his name well-known as the 90’s come to a close. He wrestled many years on the indy scene in the U.S. He was trained by wrestling legend Larry Sharpe and later sued Sharpe for his rights to wrestle. He went to the WWF in ‘85, but left to wrestle in the New Japan Pro Wrestling rings in Japan. There, he was a big favorite of the Japanese due to his size and his agile ability. He was voted as one of the most popular U.S. wrestler to ply his trade in Japan.

He returned to the WWF in 1993 with Luna Vachon and joined Red DiBiase’s Million Dollar Corporation. He went to the Finals of the King of The Ring ‘93, losing to Bret Hart. He would then team with Luna to beat Doink and Dink at WrestleMania X in ‘94. Although he would lose in the first round of the King of The Ring ‘94 Tournament, he would finish the year with victories at SummerSlam ‘94 (teaming with IRS to beat The Headshrinkers) and Survivor Series ‘94. At Survivor Series, he would team with King Kong Bundy, Tatanka, and the Heavenly Bodies to beat Lex Luger, Adam Bomb (WCW’s Wrath), Mabel and the Smoking Gunns. 

The next year didn’t start very well for Bigelow as he teamed with Tatanka only to lose to 1-2-3 Kid (X-Pac) and Bob Holly in the finals for a WWF Tag Team Tournament at Royal Rumble ‘95. And then, he would have what many feel was the match of his career.

Undertaker and Sting fan, Charlie Gentry, doesn’t think Bigelow has a chance in WCW. “Bam Bam got beat by Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI. How do you think he is going to beat Goldberg?”

Lawrence Taylor made sports page headlines when he faced Bam Bam Bigelow in one of the co-main events of the 11th ‘Mania. LT won the match, as he was seconded by an “All Pro” squad (including current WCW star Steve Mcmichael) and serenaded by Salt ‘n’ Pepa. Taylor’s WrestleMania appearance may have been the lowest point in the career of Bigelow. Taylor was much better than Karl Malone or Jay Leno, but he was a celebrity outside of the sport. He came in and pulled a big upset on the beast. Bigelow came into the bout thinking there was no chance of defeat, but left the ring with his head down.

His relationship with DiBiase was strained by the loss to Taylor. Bigelow soon turned against the Million Dollar Corporation. Two months later he teamed with Diesel (Kevin Nash). Bigelow and Diesel teamed at the King of The Ring in 1995 to beat Tatanka and Sycho Sid of the Million Dollar Corporation. He soon served his ties with all the WWF and headed to ECW.

Longtime ECW fan Danny Ivy has nothing, but good things to say about Bam Bam Bigelow. “This guy is one of the toughest S.O.B.s in wrestling. He did nothing but kick ass in ECW and that is what he is going to do in WCW.”

ECW history will not be complete without giving the accomplishments of Bigelow. Most notably, he was a well known member of the Triple Threat of Wrestling–Chris Candido, Shane Douglas, and Bigelow. 

During Hardcore Heaven ‘97. Bam Bam beat Spike Dudley with the highlight being Bigelow hurling Spike out of the ring and about four rows deep into ringside spectators. Bam Bam then won the ECW title from Shane Douglas in October 1997. Eventually, he lost it at November To Remember ‘97, to his soon-to-be-partner Douglas. This trio will always be remembered as the most successful in ECW history. They had the “wrestler” (Shane Douglas);  the “showman” (Candido); and “toughman” (Bigelow).

During the Living Dangerously ‘97 PPV, Bam Bam took the TV Title from ECW’s Taz. It was a hard-fought victory for Bigelow. The ending saw Taz go for a submission and Bigelow sent Taz through the ring. Bigelow grabbed Taz from inside the ring and pinned him 1-2-3.

Unfortunately, he lost that title a month later to “Mr. Saturday Night,” Rob Van Dam. 

[Within a hour Bigelow went from working in ECW to successfully challenging one of the top men in the business of pro wrestling!]

Bigelow and Taz continued their feud to Heatwave ‘98 in typical “Beast of the East” fashion in a Death Match with “falls counting everywhere!” At the finish of the match, Taz and Bam Bam went out to the ramp. Bam Bam went for a slam and Taz reversed it and hit a DDT that senf them both through the ramp!!! There was no movement! Bam Bam came out first, but Taz came out next and ran behind Bigelow and put the Taz submission hold on him. Before long. Bam Bam tapped out. Taz was the winner. 

November to Remember ‘98 had The Triple Threat team to go against the trio of Sabu, Taz, and Van Dam, Bigelow’s team was on the losing end, but Bigelow proved to still be one of the toughest wrestlers around. Shortly after this PPV, Bigelow disappeared and then the world saw his debut on WCW Nitro. 

So, will his stint in the “barbwire jungle” of ECW help him defeat Goldberg? Experience may be the key here. Bigelow’s experience may be the final straw that breaks the camel’s back. In a recent, special issue of Wrestling World during a roundtable discussion of Austin/Goldberg, Goldberg scored a measly 4.25 out of 10 points in the “experience” category. Stately Wayne Manor summed it up perfectly when he said, “Do you realize The Nitro Girls have made more appearances than Billybob?” Bigelow’s vast amount of experience from the indies of New Jersey to the rings of New Japan to the mats in the WWF to the “barbwire jungle” of ECW will do nothing but help him in his quest to defeat Goldberg.

Bigelow has more to worry about than Goldberg, however. Recently, when he went to fight Goldberg, his old buddy Kevin Nash interfered.

“There will not be a match between those two tonight!” said Big Sexy. And, he made sure of it as all three of them battled it out for the top spot in WCW.

No matter which of these three has the title, each could be beat on any given night…by each other! A locker-room source has heard Nash say, “I know Bigelow very well. I have the book on how to beat him. Believe me, all I would have to do is pencil it in and it would be a win for Big Sexy.”

Somehow, we don’t think it would be that easy!

The focus of Bigelow vs. Goldberg would not be complete without these words from wrestling fan Wayne Jarred. “I have to agree with Jim Ross of the WWF, Goldberg is just a copy of Steve Austin. Why is everyone making such a big deal of Bigelow vs. Goldberg? Goldberg is nothing.”

Many fans feel that Goldberg is very overrated and has been fed his opponents, much like modern-day boxers”handpick” their opponents. Could Goldberg survive a “real” opponent? One that has one thing to prove–he can beat anybody and he especially can beat Goldberg? The wrestler known as Bam Bam Bigelow will soon let the wrestling world know that he is “For real” and will continue to make life miserable for Bill Goldberg and anyone else who stands in his way.

DC Studios co-CEO and Superman director James Gunn is celebrating 86 years of The Man of Steel by providing fans with more behind-the-scenes content. On his personal Threads account, Gunn posted a picture of himself along with Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, each reading different Superman comics. Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane, is reading All-Star Superman, Corenswet, who plays Clark Kent, is reading Action Comics #114, and Gunn is reading Superman #1. Gunn has been candid in the past that these comics will serve as inspiration for his version of Kal-El in the DCU.

The film also boasts an impressive cast of Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner's Green Lantern, Nicholas Hoult as the feature villain Lex Luthor, and many more. When announcing the slate for Chapter 1 in the DCU, Gods and Monsters, Gunn said that Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy) would be the true beginning of the new DC Universe. As of now, the only characters confirmed to make the transition from the DCEU to the new DCU are John Cena's Peacemaker, Viola Davis' Amanda Waller, and Xolo Mariueńa's Blue Beetle.

What Else Do We Know About 2025’s 'Superman'?

Superman is in the midst of production right now, with new cast members being revealed as filming progresses. Most recently, it was announced that Pruitt Taylor Vince would play Superman's father, Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell will also star as Clark Kent's mother, Martha. Perhaps the most exciting aspect is that Superman won't be another origin story for The Man of Steel. Similar to Peter Parker's Spider-Man, audiences have seen Clark Kent go through the motions of becoming Superman plenty of times, so Gunn decided to begin with a more experienced Kal-El. He's also said that Superman lives in a world full of other heroes, but that none of these colleagues will steal the spotlight from what this story is truly about, which is Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Lex Luther. The DCEU made the mistake of trying to introduce too many heroes at once, and Gunn plans to avoid this error by building out a rich world full of other characters to enjoy without losing sight of what's most important.

Given everything we know about 2025's Superman, it's hard not to be optimistic about the future of DC. Taking over a franchise that had such obvious problems, not only developing a clear plan for a cinematic universe but sticking to it, Gunn has his work cut out for him, but he appears more than up to the task. It also never helped DC that they were trying to build a world at a time when the MCU was at the peak of its powers. Now, with public opinion perhaps waning slightly on Marvel's Multiverse Saga, DC has a chance to capitalize and convince the world that they can do the same thing now that the MCU once did with the Infinity Saga.

Superman is expected in theaters on July 11, 2025, and will serve as the launching pad for a new era of DC stories. Stay tuned at Collider for further updates.

Saw some really bad anti-Cordelia/anti-Cangel opinions but I’m being so brave about it. In all seriousness though, what do you say to people who think Season 3 regresses on cordelia’s development for the sake of the romance plot? I think it’s an unbelievably wrong take that clearly has no appreciation for her character whatsoever but I’d like to hear your takes.

So, I do think we lose some of Cordy’s POV in the second half of S3 once she becomes a ‘romance interest’ but I don’t see this as a flaw on Cangel’s part. Moreover, I see it as a flaw of the show itself AKA having too many male writers in the writers room.

However, I don’t think her character is regressed at all. S3 has some of the most amazing growth for her character in the show. "So - demonize me already” is one of the best Cordelia moments across both series.

I'm going to quote Nika_83 here because she said it better than I could:

"I say they also don't know the meaning of the word regression. Which is to go backwards. At no point in season 3 does cordy slide back in to season 1 btvs behavior. So that's pattently wrong. Rather she is way more selfless and giving. This all makes sense given what she has seen and experienced. She literally feels the pain of the visions. She wants to help those people. And selfishly she wants to be important to angel and the cause. And she still maintains that "materialism' she always had with loving nice things, being bought out by clothes, loving being pylea princess, etc. Which is a part of her as a character and can be a flaw but that doesn't override her need to save others, or herself."

I don’t know the posts your referring to specifically but common arguments I see for S3 are:

She’s become a Mary-Sue/Saint Cordy. 

Angel on Top has a good response to that: “She's in this relationship with Groo that we already discussed as being, like, flawed in various ways and has a certain amount of denial baked into it. Like that is imperfect. And she also tries to read what is going on with Gunn and is completely wrong as well. Like, she’s also, like, there’s human error happening still with her. Like I don’t think she is—god forbid I use the Mary Sue word–she’s like not doing that kind of stuff. I do think Cordelia would be inherently less interesting if she was suddenly perfect and never did anything wrong ever in her life. But, you know, she’s still Cordelia. She’s still, like, making some mistakes and being a little too abrasive every once in a while. Like, I don’t subscribe to that.”

I think saying ‘oh, all she cares about is Angel’ is oversimplifying it greatly and missing the point. Yes, she cares about Angel and always has (see 1x22 when she buys him art supplies to make him feel better and “Well, he's gonna have to start wanting things from life, whether he wants to or not!”). This is nothing new. I think in the overall context of what’s going on in S3 at that time, it makes sense. I think she is prioritizing Angel and focusing on Angel’s grief over losing Connor to protect herself from her own grief. If she keeps busy taking care of Angel, she won’t have to feel the pain/loss herself. Also we know Cordy is guilty of downplaying her own pain to her own detriment (her hiding that the visions were literally killing her!) so sadly this is in character for her.

I also wanna hop in here and say that I completely agree with everything that has been said and I also wanna add that even if you completely strip away the romantic subtext of s3, Cordelia would be the same person that she was in that season because two things are very true. One, that her life would still be very much intertwined with Angel's because that's the nature of him being the protagonist--similar to how Cordy's life was very much intertwined with Buffy's on BTVS--and two, her growth over the last seasons (and arguably since BTVS) would still lead her to the place that she wound up. She didn't grow to the kind hearted, loving person who cares more about the mission than money that we see in s3 because of Angel or for Angel. She grew because she was presented time and time again with a worldview and a mission that was bigger and more important than herself and it shaped her and facilitated her growth into the person she became.

I also gotta point out that the argument in itself feels kind of sexist as if a woman can’t have positive growth unless it’s attributed to shipping her with a man. Not to mention that the "Saint Cordy" moniker also feels sexist because it both diminishes her growth and patronizes her. Essentially it paints her as this super perfect saint of a person instead of talking about how much she's grown or the sacrifices that she's had to make in order to get where she is in canon or even talking about the mistakes she does make/flaws she does have in the back half of s3. Not to mention it also is used to not talk about the real issues of the back part of s3 and how that twisted into the narrative of s4 (which is a very sexist narrative with many flaws). It's just is like "oh she's saint cordelia now" and doesn't leave much, if any, room for deeper discussions. Not to mention it also paints this narrative of "a woman has to be suffering constantly or tormented in order to be viewed as a flawed, complex person" which is both gross and incorrect.

There are gag reels and then there is Peacemaker’s insanity reel. When i had a real health problem in october, i gave this show a chance and damn, it got me some hours of fun (strangly some characters are as unstable as my health was). So i gladly jumped into this rabbit hole and there is no end bc i want to watch all the bts too!

If you stopped to care about a part of the DC film universe after the first Suicide Squad, please give the new movie a chance, and then continue with P. S1. It’s basically Justice League in the stranger-things other dimension version with every curse word and cringe moment between adults ever imagined in one tv show. Talking about the JL..., if you manage to watch all of Peacemaker you won’t believe your eyes and ears. But apparently Gunn can do whatever he wants with any franchise character now. Next project hopefully “Eagly, Mission Impossible to Dissapoint his BFF”. Sadly he was digital most of the time, so just imagine the insanity in a S2 if Eagly were always a real eagle.
