❀ I think Tachihara is a pretty all over the place baby! I think at the beginning, like before he had his mission working undercover with the mafia, he’d have more energy! A happy bouncy excited baby! But after he grows close to the mafia I think he’d grow quieter, more closed off to them. He struggles being close to both groups, he feels like he’s betraying his family no matter where he is

❀ For the most part we’ll focus on before his undercover mafia mission! I think he’d regress to more of a toddler headspace, 3-5. Very energetic! He loves getting to play with his caregivers! Sometimes he’ll get sad and mopey, remembering his lost brother or how little his parents cared about him… Sad baby means clingy baby! He just needs hugs and soon enough he’ll be a giggling baby once again!

❀ Onto individual interactions! Teruko can act really immature sometimes, so she’s like babies best friend! Teruko is the one to go to when Tachihara wants to play! They definitely have a sibling type bond! Teruko can use her ability to turn Tachihara into a literal baby too! Very helpful! Stops the little one’s mind from worrying about why his body is so big even though he feels so small… Teruko to the rescue of course!

❀ Teruko will also use her ability on herself to make the baby laugh! She’ll do funny voices and change her age to match! It’s perfect for story time. But she’ll also use it to tease the other members! She’ll turn super old and mimic Fukuchi for example! (He’s always very heavily offended) Nicknames I think Teruko would use! “Tachi” “Little Guy” or just “Baby” Tachihara usually calls her “Sis” or “Sissy”!

❀ Tetchō is very much so a quiet caregiver! He very compliant, willing to give little Tachihara just about whatever he wants! Tetchō is very easy to convince of things. For example bedtime may be at 10 PM, however if Tachihara explains a super important reason he needs to stay up Tetchō will totally let him! And just saying he needs to watch a specific show for example is a plenty good reason! The other Hunting Dogs aren’t very pleased

❀ Tetchō is banned from snack duty. One time he put cheese in Tachihara’s applesauce… Poor little guy was disgusted. He didn’t want to be mean of course though! Luckily Jōno was watching and quickly solved the problem! Tetchō would use nicknames like “Little One” or “Baby” but for the most part he honestly just uses Tachihara’s name

❀ Jōno can be a strict caregiver! He always knows what Tachihara is up to! Even if the little one is being super duper sneaky he can’t even make it out of the room before Jōno is calling out “Back here, now” But it’s not like Jōno is being mean! He lets little Tachihara do things of course, Tachihara just needs to ask first. Otherwise the little guy will end up doing things he shouldn’t

❀ Jōno doesn’t really like watching cartoons or listening to music in the background, the noise just clogs up his senses that he’s trying to focus on the little one, and he can’t actually see the TV. I think he’d really like playing with cars or trains! Toys that run along the ground a lot. Makes it easy for him to keep up and focus more of his attention on the baby! Jōno would use pet names such as “Brat” (Said with love of course!) “Tachi” or “Pip-Squeak”! He teases a lot hehe

❀ Fukuchi is such a silly caregiver! He acts all noble and dignified… But he doesn’t really know what he’s doing. Age regression is a very foreign concept to him, but he’s more than happy to comply for little Tachihara! He’s told to treat Tachihara like a baby. He can do that! In his eyes Tachihara is literally a baby now. He’ll always carry Tachihara around, always cooing at him and doing everything the baby might need!

❀ Fukuchi would love to watch cartoons! He’s very fascinated by them and always laughs way more than he’s expecting to (Jōno calls it obnoxious, but no one seriously complains as long as little Tachihara is happy!) Fukuchi would use nicknames like “Buddy” “Little Guy” and “Son” (I don’t necessarily see them as a father son relationship? I just think Fukuchi calls everyone younger than him Son. Yes this includes Teruko, no she is not pleased)

❀ After he starts with the Mafia Tachihara grows more reliant on the Hunting Dogs! He can’t regress around the Mafia, can’t get close to them. But over time as he’s able to rely more on the Mafia he sorta drifts away from the Hunting Dogs. He relies on them less, they agree on less. No huge changes! Just a little gap that everyone seems to notice

I hope you enjoyed! I mainly focused on his time before the mafia to make it more fluffy than angsty hehe, plus the more he relied on the Hunting Dogs the more they’d interact so that’s convenient too. Have a great day/night everyone!

jalskdjlak not so long ago i thought "tbh if i were to write a hanahaki au it'd be suegiku", so thanks lkjlk i'm picky with this au's interpretations, but damn when it's either "it's not unrequited but they think it is" or "hanahaki forces the character to either acknowledged their feeligs or suffer" (this case specifically) mhmmm i love that

“... you’re saying that, after I told you this will get solved if you acknowledge your fucking feelings and confess, your choice is… doing nothing. Nothing???” Teruko’s voice had been more calm and stern when she started talking, but it wasn’t long till it became loud and filled with anger and worry instead.

So much that Tetchô could clearly hear it on his way towards and into the room.

“Yes.” Jôno answered, interrupting himself to cough a few times before continuing in basically the same demeanor. “I’d rather die.”

“You gotta be fucking kidding me.” A more than evident sigh escaped from Teruko’s mouth. Then she went on, relentlessly. “Alright, then get ready to get on the operation table. I’ll make the call, you’ll get the surgery, and it’d be as if nothing happened.”

There was a pause after that, though the silence got filled by the sound of Jôno’s coughs, worse that time. And then he answered, plain as one could be.

“No.”

Tetchô entered the room right after that, just in time to see Teruko crossing her arms and stomping her foot on the ground, something that didn’t make too much of a sound since she was wearing only socks.

“Tetchô-kun, help me make this idiot understand I won’t allow anything else. It’s confessing or surgery, period.” 

“Jôno…” Said and done; he was going to take her side even without being asked to, and there was no way Teruko didn’t know that already. Any attempt at a plea died down for the time being, still, when Jôno spoke again.

“No, get the fuck out and leave us alo–”  The next coughing fit, apart from seeming way more violent than the previous one, ended with a whole flower falling on Jôno’s hand; one that Tetchô could easily recognize, for it was no one other than a plum blossom.

Thinking about the ableism toward Jouno in the BSD fandom and it genuinely pisses me off so badly I want to hit people. I’ll be perusing the tag and looking at stuff and then I’ll see some random pop ups for AO3 and get shit like this

Now I don’t 100% know the context of this screenshot, for all I know this fic could be about him before he lost his sight, but either way it got me thinking and thinking got me angry and being angry means i need to complain. Jouno is already pretty shit blind rep, I’ll be honest. He’s the basic stereotype of “blind character has super senses because they’re blind” but can we give blind people literally ANYTHING else??? jesus christ. I’m pissed how BSD writes his blindness so as per usual I had to attempt to fix all of that myself, but attempting to fix it and removing it entirely are NOT the same and one is VERY MUCH SO WORSE. Again, not talking about this fic specifically but other ones I’ve seen that do this, or those “Jouno if he could see” edits. Spoiler alert, blind people can open their eyes.

I dont know why BSD and every other piece of media is so adamant on not giving visually impaired and blind characters white canes and just giving them "super senses" to get around it. It’s incredibly stupid and abelist to portray stuff like this. Disabilities are not super powers and thank GOD they didnt make that his ability but they still gave him that aspect and I guess it can be excused with SOME lore stuff like maybe he got really good senses from his surgeries but it just sucks that it happened that way at all? And then they don't even touch on how horrible having incredibly hightened senses to the point you can HEAR blood would be?? can you imagine hearing everyone internal organs around you 24/7 EVERYDAY? No one talks about that at all. That would be so fucking overwhelming its genuinely insane. Jouno is such a dear character to me, but genuinely when I remember him in canon without any of my headcanon explinations it’s just really sad that all I can say about him as representation is "well.. it could be worse".

I know there’s going to be at least one person saying “theres good blind rep in other shows though!!” Yes! I know! I’m super glad about that! But ignoring the bad ones doesn’t help much. You need to point out the issues to get good results. Recently, and by recently I mean about 17 hours ago, I watched/listened to the first episode of Daredevil, once with audio descriptions, and then after I watched without AD and had captions. I’m super glad that things are more commonly getting AD—it’d be a bit pathetic if the show with a blind main character was not accessible to blind people—but even with Daredevil, Matt still falls a bit into this stereotype.

Don’t get me wrong, seeing a character with a white cane has me absolutely elated, but from the single episode I’ve seen and what I’ve heard, he apparently also has some sort of super senses, and I know in the first episode he can hear heartbeats. I think super senses as a power is fine, but it’s just the fact they always give it to the blind characters. I, myself, am not blind, nor am I really visually impaired, I just wear glasses. However, as someone with a special interest in disabilities and also as someone that is disabled in other ways, seeing disabled rep fall into stereotypes over and over just really bums me out sometimes.

I think Daredevil is great so far from this one episode, I’ll probably be looking at more of it, but that is definitely just one gripe I have with it. I think Charlie Cox putting a bunch of effort into the role with the method acting and talking to people in the blind community and just all of that is amazing, I love to see that in anything, it’s just urrghh that it’s so hard to find a blind character that doesn’t have some kind of insane superpower senses with things. It reminds me of when characters with autism are so frequently portrayed as geniuses or their autism is only acceptable if it helps the neurotypical cast with “gadgets” or something. I dunno. Hard to explain, it’s 11 at night and I’m tired. Just don’t be ableist in any fandom or in real life. I shouldn’t have to even point out why this shit is disgraceful.

Caregiver Jouno + Sleepy Little

⟡ Jouno would love a sleepy little! He’s used to being on high alert at all times. So just getting to lay in bed with his little one sounds super nice! Of course he’s still on high alert! But there’s less to pay attention to! With his little one in his arms he can easily feel them there, only one of his senses needed for that! It’s such a nice break for him. He can just lay in bed with his baby in his arms and just… Relax for once

⟡ Most of the time when I write headcanons for a sleepy baby I mention music or cartoons in the background, but I don’t think Jouno would like that. It makes him need to strain harder to hear any noises from his baby. However he’d still do warm bottles of milk! It’s the best for sleepy time! He’ll have bottles prepped to just microwave then hand to his little one! Then they get his full attention once again!

⟡ Instead of music or a show in the background Jouno will just talk! He understands that falling asleep with no background noise can be tough (And scary (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞), so he’ll just talk! He’ll tell stories he was told as a child, tell some stories of things he’s done, he’s even willing to sing lullabies! Though he won’t admit to it in broad daylight and especially not to anyone else. It’s a precious secret between him and his little!

⟡ Jouno loves getting to talk to his baby! He loves reminders that they love and rely on him. Even if it’s just babbling! That’s perfectly ok! He’s got the self confidence to assume the best. And he’s usually right to be fair! Jouno’s just such an awesome caregiver… How can the baby babble about anything other than how amazing he is? Especially since they know how much he likes hearing it hehe

⟡ Jouno loves it when his baby is tired! However that definitely won’t stop him from teasing them. It’s always “Sleepyhead” this and “Sleepyhead” that. Such a bully! The little one would surely object! If only they could keep their eyes open long enough to… Jouno just chuckles and kisses them on the forehead “Aww Sleepyhead can’t even pout?”

⟡ In case Jouno has a baby that’s very sleepy, but doesn’t want to admit it, he will bully them to sleep! I love Jouno! Initially I didn’t see him as much of a caregiver because I don’t see him as very patient, but I can totally see him doing lots of teasing as a caregiver while still being overprotective! Yay understanding characters better!

“And you gotta wear these too!” Kenji said, passing two straw hats very similar to his own to Tetchô, who put one on and then placed the remaining one over Jôno’s head instead of just handing it over to his partner.

“Thanks, Kenji-kun.” He simply answered, while Jôno scowled.

“Is this really necessary?” Jôno added, and just a split second later, Tetchô elbowed him in the arm. He had already been scowling, but right after, his expression clearly darkened. “Don’t do that! I know it’s necessary in the sense we might as well burn to crisps, but you get me.”

“Actually, I don’t.” Tetchô replied, making Jôno groan.

“Oh, me neither.” Kenji nodded, though his next words were to counter-argue. “But working in these overalls is very nice since your other clothes donʼt get soaked. And now we all match, so it’s even better!” He instantly glanced at the two soldiers with a big grin on his face, even if that was not necessary when it came to making his enthusiasm known: Tetchô had been hearing all about it the past few days, so the image offered zero news, and Kenji had quickly learned Jôno would sense it.

‘I don’t even need to see, or concentrate.’ He had said when they met. ‘You basically irradiate all that energy. Like Tetchô-san when he’s all mopey, but not a bother.’

“Alright. Anyway, let’s get to work.” Was all that Jôno said both after and for a while, sighing less than other times. Meanwhile, Kenji himself beamed.

“Oki-doki! Plus, now we’re three and you’re super strong too, we’re gonna be done in like, no time!”
