Thinking about how in In Trousers it's mentioned that Whizzer smokes ("he takes me in his arms and then he lights another cigarette") but in Falsettos it's mentioned that he doesn't ("I don't smoke don't do drugs") so assuming these are both true and not a continuity error between the musicals, that means Whizzer is an ex-smoker, having quit sometime during his relationship with Marvin- most likely for the sake of his health, which makes it even sadder when he brings it up during You Gotta Die Sometime as he's trying to rationalize it all, because he did everything he could to stay healthy and it just wasn't enough.
