Steve Brodie (born John Daugherty Stephens; November 21, 1919 – January 9, 1992)  Stage, film, and television actor from El Dorado in Butler County in south central Kansas. He reportedly adopted his screen name in memory of Steve Brodie, a daredevil who claimed to have jumped from the Brooklyn Bridge in 1886 and survived.

SIMONAS NEKROŠIUS lt Artiste interdisciplinaire de Vilnius, spécialisé dans l'art sonore et la construction d'instruments électro-acoustiques et d'objets sonores faits maison.

Son travail est souvent associé aux notions de « ready-made » et de « DIY ». Il perçoit la créativité et les objets d'art comme un processus, réduisant ainsi l'importance des résultats finalisés dans ses projets. En conséquence, son travail a tendance à être indéterminé et transformateur au fil du temps.

ALANAS GURINAS lt Jeune artiste interdisciplinaire, adepte des performances sonores et des installations audiovisuelles.

Dans sa démarche, il explore le son en tant que phénomène textural, les thèmes de l'éphémère et les relations entre divers objets et espaces audibles et inaudibles.

A slightly light tone  ( Strained paper sheets, weights, vibro motors, various sound objects ) 

est une performance sonore acoustique live qui utilise le papier comme matériau principal pour produire du son. Différents types de papiers sont placés entre deux pinces en bois et, à l'aide de poids, sont tendus jusqu'à ce qu'ils trouvent leur état de résonance. En conséquence, différents tons, drones et textures générés par du papier en suspension sont produits. (La durée de la représentation est de +- 30 minutes)

Aujourd'hui, après une bonne nuit de repos, nous nous sommes concentrés sur le sud de Manhattan.

Après avoir marché 5kms dans Brooklyn, nous avons découvert dans un premier temps, un spot très prisé des touristes dans le quartier de Dumbo (pas l'éléphant hein), pour obtenir LA photo du Manhattan Bridge.

Nous avons ensuite traversé l'impressionnant Brooklyn Bridge sous un soleil de plomb pour rejoindre le sud de la presqu'île.

Dans cette partie de Manhattan que nous avons très apprécié, on y a trouvé le City Hall, la Trinity Church, le quartier des affaires dont la fameuse rue de Wall Street et son taureau d'autant plus célèbre.

Et enfin, non loin de là se trouvait également le m��morial 9/11 des tours jumelles. Je m'arrête un instant sur ce mémorial, je déplore que ce soit devenu une attraction touristique plus qu'un lieu de recueillement. Je me suis surpris à être réellement ému à la vue de tous ces noms gravés autour des fontaines qui prennent place à l'endroit des tours. Ça m'a replongé à mes presque 11 ans lorsque j'ai découvert la terrible nouvelle à la télévision en rentrant du collège.

Journée riche en émotions pour ma part donc et avec 22 kms au compteur, on peut dire que nous avons une fois de plus bien gambadé !

Demain, direction Central Park et environs pour avoir un peu de verdure !

Forse non riesco più a scrivere perché ho smesso di leggere. Tutti i libri che ho letto, il vapore sulla tazza di tè una mattina a Brooklyn, la sabbia sul terrazzo dell’appartamento a Dubai, quando guidavo e non guardavo il sedile accanto per immaginare lui fosse lì, la prima volta in spiaggia con il mio cane e il costume bianchi, mangiare le crêpes nel ristorante sotto casa in Rue le Regrattier, e questa mattina che dovrei lavorare ma sono sul terrazzo fresco a guardare l’angolo incredibilmente acuto che fa il palazzo di fronte che emerge tra i pini, sembra la prua di una nave. A settembre cambierò casa, di nuovo, ma questa volta la compriamo. C’è un piccolo giardino. Chissà cosa sembrano lì gli alberi e il palazzo di fronte quando ti siedi con calma e ti metti a pensare.

Mercoledì 24 luglio Fare Musica e Uno Energy presentano: The godfather of Swing RAY GELATO & THE GIANTS Ray Gelato “the godfather of swing”, ha portato il suo marchio speciale di musica swing, jazz e R&B in tutto il mondo a partire dal 1988. Con la sua band di prim’ordine The Giants presentano uno spettacolo ad alta energia che non smette mai di trascinare la folla, farle battere i piedi e chiedere ancora di più. Il risultato è che Ray è stato paragonato a grandi come Cab Calloway e Louis Prima e definito “uno degli ultimi grandi intrattenitori jazz!” Il leggendario ‘Padrino dello Swing’ e la sua band hanno alle spalle una carriera illustre e di successo, che include una presenza di lungo termine al famoso Ronnie Scott di Soho, dove la band si esibisce ogni Natale registrando sempre il tutto esaurito. Ray ha anche suonato per Sua Maestà la Regina Elisabetta d'Inghilterra, ha aperto il concerto di Robbie Williams alla Albert Hall, ed è stato scelto per suonare al matrimonio di Sir Paul McCartney. Eccezionali le sue interpretazioni di brandi classici del genere, spesso coloriti da un italiano molto “Brooklyn Addicted”, alternati a sue composizioni originali, ormai assunte al ruolo di Classici del genere.

Un tributo molto particolare al grande pianista americano Thelonious MONK. Idea nata da Giuseppe Fabris che con l’ascolto dello standard “Straight no chaser” ha iniziato a scrivere un testo in italiano. Un approccio di libera interpretazione sulla magica e sorprendente musica di MONK, musicista geniale ed innovativo, vera linfa vitale per i musicisti e gli appassionati. Un omaggio, quindi, sempre modesto, umile, rispettoso ma quanto mai innovativo. L’ospite della serata sarà il sassofonista (tenore e soprano) Frank Taschini accompagnato da Enzo Cioffi alla batteria, Alberto Miccichè al basso elettrico, Lorenzo Herrnhut alla Chitarra e, chiaramente Giuseppe Fabris Voce.

Questo progetto, alimentato principalmente dalle mie composizioni ed arrangiamenti, propone nuova musica originale che mescoli le influenze musicali ed esperienze personali maturate negli anni, cercando di “raccontare” il tutto in chiave strumentale.

E, come in ogni festa, la serata prosegue con WIR IUM ed il suo dj set assolutamente particolare.
