never did sage think she'd be a single parent. hell, she had pictured a future with her ex boyfriend but that was shattered when he left for california. leaving her behind and yeah, they could have made long distance work if they both put a little more effort into them. but they didn't last more than a few weeks after he left. her heart had broken that day and then a few weeks later, it broke even more. staring at a positive pregnancy test, hands shook and her mind had raced. she concluded she was going to keep her baby. she always wanted to be a mom and though she knows she's young, she didn't know if she'd have another chance. going through pregnancy alone was rough. thankfully her sister had been pretty active in her life and the pregnancy. hell, even helping babysit when sage had a photography job. not once did she tell knox. not wanting to force him back. afraid he might not even believe her. knox was pursuing his dream, she didn't want to ruin that.

the morning was spent getting nova ready for the day. her baby girl was starting to walk and it was a little chaotic but oh so enjoyable. pushing her in the stroller, she smiles down at her little blessing. the plan was to grab a coffee at the small cafe that she's always loved and then head out to run some errands for the day. she hadn't expected to hear a familiar voice ordering at the counter and it made her breath catch.

When Allison had received the tip for a wayward Wendigo running around in the woods of upstate New York, she had never thought it would be how she'd get hurt. She had been so confident about being able to handle it herself that she had forgone any sort of backup, yet she regretted it now. Allison was lying back on the cold woody floor of the forest, her breathing shallowing as blood poured out of her wound, her eyes trained on the stars above as she contemplated the events that led to this moment. She could hear rustling nearby but figured it was the Wendigo coming back to finish her off, yet she wouldn't go out that easy, gripping the 3 inch blade concealed in her belt line. She waited for the creature to come closer, poised to attack when she got the chance.

Suppress it as he might, the issue came to overshadow work, simple joys... and even the bigger joys that had come his way. “Simple,” he sighed, utterly resigned as he plunked a wine bottle onto the table. “Or would you prefer vodka?” It made no difference to Anthony. He drank to get drunk, not to muse over flavors.

marriage was suppose to be filled with love and compassion and her's lacked it all. it was simply transactional. a means to an end for both their families. money, business, the talk. that's all that mattered to her parents. it didn't matter that naya protested the union. that she wanted to married when she found the person she loved -- not to the one she couldn't stand. jax was a player. known for his abrasiveness, recklessness and lack of care of women. he never settled down. he always had some new pieice of ass in his bed. she doubted it would stop just because they were now marred.

"i think we need to discuss a few things. since we didn't really get a chance to before...this." she mutters, looking down at the wedding ring on her hand.
