Molly hadn’t come to meet them at the station.

“Maybe something came up,” George had suggested as they hauled their trunks out of King’s Cross alone---they were the only two Weasley children leaving Hogwarts for Easter. Fred had hummed noncommittally, but they were both thinking the same thing. The wounds from their OWLs were still raw, and with the added distractions of the Bagman incident, the Tournament, and Fred’s new girlfriend, this year was proving to be an even worse year for marks than the last. George hadn’t been to Herbology in weeks. They were fully expecting a storm of maternal rage the moment they crossed the threshold of the Burrow.

But when Fred opened the door, it wasn’t their mother in the kitchen beyond. It was a stranger.

Or... not quite a stranger.

“Well, fuck me sideways, if it isn’t whatshisname,” Fred exclaimed before George roughly elbowed him out of the way to see the source of the commotion. He stared for slightly longer than was probably polite before his face broke into a bemused smile.

“So it is. Good to see you in one piece, mate. I was hoping you made it out of that mess okay. Er...” He dragged his trunk in after him and nudged the door shut with his foot. “If you don’t mind my asking, any particular reason you’re in our kitchen?”

listen ok listen I had a very quiet dissatisfaction with the concept that children conceived with love potions couldn’t love okay it was fresh bullshit and I’m glad to see you’re happy to ignore that

oh yes! i think i ranted in ims about it but it would imply that anyone conceived under bad circumstances would somehow end up being incapable of something like love, which is ridiculous and offensive. so personally i hold on to the idea that he was perfectly capable of LEARNING, because love is most definitely a NURTURE and therefore you can learn to love ( hello we don’t just love people out of nowhere, we learn to! ), but just not born with the instincts, which would be the inkling of NATURE, aka what you are born with. i think somewhere in some interview jkr even said his inability was symbolic and if he’d been raised and loved by yknow, his mother ( or any figure ), voldemort would have NEVER existed. i do believe that once he split his soul above 3/4 times he was definitely done for-----which had nothing to do with the potion obv.

Hi I'm Aang and I once blocked anonymous messages from myself because I wanted to see if I could. Also I used to keep rats as pets and I have a pigeon that my parents are taking care of right now.
