this is so long, my god but i love a sexy maid moment.
tw: rape (under negotiated kink and consent with coercion)
This job had not been Brittney's first choice. She'd been working at the restaurant one night when a man far to wealthy to be eating at an establishment as shitty as the place she worked had gotten her attention and slipped her his card. He'd told her that if she was ever interested in expanding her work opportunities and entering into a lucrative new field, she should give the number a call. At the time, she'd brushed off his proposition, thinking him a creep, but she never threw out his card. Of course, she'd gotten fired a week later for tardiness and after weeks of fruitless job hunting, she had re-evaluated his offer. Maybe, it wouldn't be that bad? He was pretty posh so she didn't imagine they have her doing hard labor outside or anything.
She checked her bank account and the minuscule balance helped her steel her nerves. She didn't have enough money to pay her rent this month. The leasing agency had been lenient with her thus far but she knew that eventually their patience with her late or missing or incomplete payments would wear out and she'd be out on the street. She'd called and found out that the number was for an agency that matched attractive young women with wealthy clients who needed extra assistance performing common household tasks. She'd asked the agent for more information but hadn't been able to get more out of them then vague statements about client confidentially.
She'd agreed and gone through the strangest application process she'd ever experienced. She'd never been asked to submit her measurements to a job before. She thought that maybe they just had specific uniform standards but she never received anything. The only pro about the whole thing, other then the pay check, was that it didn't take them long to match her with a client. She was sent an address, date, and time to arrive, and was told not to be late under any circumstances unless she wanted to be terminated immediately. This seemed like a lot for a job cleaning houses but she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
That's how she'd managed to find herself in the swankiest building she'd ever been in on an elevator headed to the penthouse. The doors opened to a small hallway that lead to an ornate door with a gold door knocker in the shape of a lion. She knocked once and stood there in front of the door. Just how rich were these fucking people? She heard a series of locks being released and then the door opened, revealing a older man with salt and pepper hair, and strong jaw. He was obviously in great shape for his age, and she struggled to find the right place to look at him so she wasn't just shamelessly ogling her employer. He had a stern look about him and Brittney was happy that she wasn't late. She did not want to what he looked like when he was angry.
"Oh, uh. Hello, sir. I'm-", she started speaking quickly, trying to introduce herself but he cut her off.
"I know exactly who you are Brittney. Please come inside," he turned on his heel and briskly walked into the spacious apartment, not bothering to check and see if she was following behind him.
She squeaked in surprise and followed quickly behind him. The door immediately shut behind her and she heard a series of clicks as all of the locks fell back into place. It was the nicest apartment Brittney had ever seen. Everything was clean and white with the kind of modern minimalist furniture that only rich people liked. The best thing about the apartment was the windows. It had the best view of the city, that seemed to sprawl out like an ocean beneath them.
"We have much to discuss so why don't you get changed into your uniform and then we'll talk."
"Oh, I don't have a uniform. I thought the company was going to provide something but nothing ever came," she told him apologetically.
"I'd certainly hope not. We have a uniform for you here. It's in the other room there. It's based on your measurements so provided you did not lie, it should fit just fine."
Brittney looked at him baffled. She waited for him to provide more of an explanation but he did not so she walked into room to get changed. It was guest bedroom with an attached bathroom. Laid out on the bed was what looked like a slutty maid costume which was odd. She wandered around the room, looking for her uniform. Upon finding nothing, she poked her head out of the bedroom door.
"Excuse me, sir. I don't see my uniform," she told him.
"It should be on the bed," he told her, which would mean that the skimpy maid costume was her uniform.
"Oh, I'm sorry I can't wear that."
He looked at her for a moment with an expression on his face that seemed to communicate that he thought was was very stupid.
"Tell me, Brittney. Did you happen to read the contract before you signed it?"
Her face redden. She had looked at it but not very carefully. It just looked like a normal contract to her so she'd signed it without much thought.
"I see," he replied, voice cold." In the future, I would suggest you read contacts before you sign them and certainly before you show up at a clients house for a job. If you'd read it, you'd understand that employed in this capacity I own you - all of you. If you wish not to continue, please tell me now so I can send you on your way and we can stop wasting my time."
Her eyes widened as the reality of what she'd signed up for dawned on her. She'd figured that the job was weird but she didn't realize that it was going to be this. He was giving her an opportunity to leave and she should take it but she knew that if she did she could kiss her check good-bye.
"My apologies, sir. Please forgive me. I'll get changed right away."
She ducked back into the bedroom, closing the door gently behind her. She changed out of her clothes and into the skimpy costume. She'd original thought that it was one piece but it was actually three. It also came with a matching choker, tights, and high heels, as well as a little metal thing shaped like a tear drop with a heart shaped jewel on the end but Brittney couldn't figure what that was suppose to be for.
The top was something like a triangle bikini top with a matching shrug that only covered her shoulders. The triangles of the bikini top covered her nipples, which had come to points in the cool air and were visible under the thin fabric of the top, but little else. The skirt, which had a white apron sewed onto it, was equally immodest. It hugged her hips well but barely covered her shaved pussy. She'd looked around for underwear but found none. Brittney tried to pull her tiny skirt down to cover a bit more of her ass but it was in vain. She hoped that he wasn't going to have her picking anything up because she'd be completely exposed. With the addition of the accessories and shoes, she was (barely) dressed in her uniform. She walked back into the main room of the apartment where her client was waiting for her, holding the small metal object in her hand.
"I'm dressed, sir," she told. "I'm sorry. I don't know what to do with this though."
He walked around her in a circle, looking over her body appreciatively.
"It fits you well," he told her, taking the item from her hand. "Don't worry. I'll help you. Now, I am going to tell you about this job and you are going to listen. Today is going to be unlike your other days here. Consider it an introduction to the job."
He slide the item in his pocket and with his hand free, he grabbed Brittney by the waist and pulled her towards him. She stumbled forward, landing with her hands on his broad chest. He cupped her ass with his big hands, squeezing and kneading the soft flesh. Brittney gasped, at the sensation of his hands on her. This was bad. He was her boss, he shouldn't be touching her like this and she shouldn't be enjoying it. Despite her reluctance, she said nothing, afraid of pissing him off and losing her job.
"As I previously mentioned, while you work in this capacity, I own you and I mean this very literally," he told her, as he turned her so that her ass was pressed tightly against his thick cock. He ran his hands up and down her lithe body, groping her full tits and upper thighs.
"You are going to do what I tell you to do, when I tell you to do it, and who I tell you to do it with," he continued. With one hand, he freed her tits from the confines of her tiny top, teasing her sensitive nipples with his fingers, and the other, he sneaks between her legs to rub at her little pussy. He runs two thick fingers against her slit, coating them in her juices, and then plunging two of them inside of her. Brittney moans in response, hips bucking to take in more of his thick fingers.
"You will not talk back, and you will not make me repeat myself. Do I make myself clear?" When she doesn't respond quickly enough, he pulls his fingers out of her cunt and roughly spanks her pussy, earning a yelp of surprise from Brittney.
"Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes," she replied, but she quickly learned that this was not the response that he was looking for as he delivered another series of slaps to her pussy.
"Not quite, try again," he told her, his hand hovering over her wet cunt ready to deliver another series of slaps if she fucked up.
"Yes, sir."
"Good, girl," he tells her and she shudder's at the praise. "Now, I am a firm master but I am not unfair. It is expected that you will make mistakes but you will be guided and corrected as needed."
He slips his fingers back into her waiting cunt, scissoring them to stretch out her hole and then adding a third finger, pumping them in and out roughly. While he fucked her with his fingers, he used his thumb to rub her tender clit until her legs began to tremble. He lets her get close to the edge but denies her, over and over again. To Brittney, it feels like her pleasure stretches into eternity. She has no conception of how long they have been standing here in his living room with his devilish fingers playing with her pussy. Letting go of her tit, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out the object from before.
"This, my dear, is a butt plug and it is apart of your uniform. I expect you wear it whenever you are working in this capacity. I'm sure this seems daunting now but I'm sure you'll grow to love it."
He pulls his fingers out of her cunt and pushes the plug inside, coating it in her juices. Brittney whimpers at the sensation but offers up no resistance. Slowly, he fucks her with the plug until she's close to cumming but slips it out before she can. He carefully pushes the plug against the tight ring of her anus and watches with satisfaction as it stretches around the toy. Brittney groans as her ass is slowly stretched and filled by the unfamiliar object. With the body of the plug snugly in her ass, the only thing that can be seen is the twinkling heart shaped jewel between her ass cheeks.
"That's a good girl. I think, you've earned an orgasm."
With her ass filled by the plug, his thick fingers in her pussy and against her clit felt even more intense. She came with a scream, as her legs buckled and she sagged against her employer's broad chest. She'd never cum that hard before. She felt like she'd been shot into space.
"Now that you've cum, I think it's time that you show your appreciation, huh?" he told her, as he pushed her to her knees and pulled out his hard cock.

It's kind of depressing when you realize out of Team RWBY, Weiss is the only one who get's constant development. Ruby doesn't get any character development until maybe Vol 4, and it was still sporadic at best. Yang and Blake got some good development up until Vol 7 where it feels like if it didn't involve Bumblee, then they didn't get anything (And in some cases you could argue going backwards...). So, this might be my bias talking (Weiss is best girl), but Weiss is the only one on that team to me that got anything in a constant enough rate. Only time I think she didn't develop was in Vol 9, but that was Ruby's time to shine so I'm not really upset with that one.
Yeah, when you think about it, there really wasn't much character development for any of the supposed "main characters" of the series, especially since they're also the titular characters.
Ruby's character development was like a David Cage game of Beyond: Two Souls, showing us Ruby's highs, lows, lows, lows, and LOWS of her character development, all before circling back to a HIGH just in time for her series to get canned. It's a sad sight.
Blake's character was centralized on the White Fang. She was in the White Fang until she left, then she finds out the White Fang are up to something in Vale to the point that it exhausts her, then she helps stop the White Fang in Vale and Mountain Glenn, then Yang was framed, and Blake thinks she's becoming Adam again, then the White Fang attack Beacon and Adam cripples Yang so she runs away to Menagerie to protect Yang and everyone she knows and learns the White Fang are up to something in Menagerie until she breaks everything up in Haven. Things go right for Blake overall until Adam shows back up and she and Yang murder him with no consequences. It is from this point that Blake's character arc with the White Fang ends and her entire character now becomes Yang's girlfriend. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Blake is the worst girl of Team RWBY.
Yang's character trait is that she has no character trait. None that's ever properly established. She's Ruby's sister and/or mother figure, but hardly interacts with her. She likes to party and get into fights, but we don't see her do either. Her mom is a bandit, but we don't know if Raven really loves Yang or not. She lost her arm to Adam, but she didn't really learn anything from that whole experience; again, nothing that we can see. And now Yang's character is Blake's girlfriend. I put Yang higher than Blake only because what story COULD be told isn't just the same story over and over.
So, now that I've gone over some issues of the others, let's talk about Weiss' character arc. Weiss is physically scarred by a trial set by her father in order to get into Beacon, and once she arrives, she's an uptight spoiled brat who expects to be handed the position of Team Leader. After she's humbled by Professor Port, she steps up as Ruby's second-in-command. She's pursued romantically by Jaune, whom she rejects outright multiple times until Neptune shows up, whom she romantically pursues until he starts flirting with other girls in front of her, though Jaune helps Neptune ask her to dance, and from there she and Jaune are on better terms as friends (which can be seen in V3 when he calls Weiss after getting out of the locker Pyrrha shoved him in). During V3, she's approached by her sister and financially cut off by her father. After the Fall of Beacon, she's forced to return home and is basically put in a sort of Brittney Spears house arrest, where she's only allowed out by her father to do whatever he wants her to do (I think that's what happened, I'm not really aware of what exactly happened during the whole "conservative house-arrest" thing from a few years back), until she escapes and is then captured by Raven until she's rescued by Yang. They then go to Haven and reunite with Ruby and Team JNR, and once Blake comes back, Team RWBY is back in full swing!
Okay, I think that's enough to make the point, but I do want to bring up something that is going to piss people off, because of course it will. It's about Weiss' likely endgame ship, White Knight. I said before that RWBY doesn't know how to do romance, but... Looking at the character developments of both Jaune and Weiss and they just somehow start leaning closer and closer, contrary to how they started out. Like, I know I'm not the only one seeing two characters with full-developed characters starting to get closer, so how is it that BMBLB sucks so hard with their story if it's the canon flagship?
Don't believe me? Think about what I was talking about with these characters. Do you know what the biggest difference is between the stories of Weiss and Blake and Yang? The answer is that Weiss actually has a story. Blake and Yang just are just... two halves of one whole. Weiss is completely independent of Jaune, and yet they both managed to grow without each other. I'm no relationship expert, but if you're relying on another person to have a character arc, that's not a healthy relationship- That's codependency.
Oh, but what do I know? I'm just an idiot on the internet who makes incorrect quote posts. My opinion is invalid and should be tossed out and disregarded. Tata~!

Hi all! So even if I wasn't thrilled with Wish as a final product, I was really inspired by Brittney Lee's wonderful concept art for a more human-esque "Star"...so I decided to take that idea and put my own twist on it! Because as much as I like Brittney Lee's concept, I had two main thoughts in the back of my head while drawing this --
I actually liked that Star in the film wasn't explicitly male or female, and Disney hasn't ever done a non-binary main character in one of their animated films before, so I thought a more androgynous look could be interesting.
The original concept's hair makes him look A LOT like Jack Frost from Dreamwork's Rise of the Guardians, in my opinion -- and yes, although I like Jack, I don't see Star being much like him.
So -- thinking to salute the original idea of the filmmakers to take inspiration from past Disney projects -- I took visual inspiration from several characters, most from the Golden and Silver Age of Disney Animation (except for Puck from Disney's Gargoyles TV series, but come on, he's just fun), so as to play up the mute, but still very extroverted, sweet, playful personality this character would have. Much like mute side characters from some of Disney's previous works like Dopey, Dumbo, and the Spring Sprite, you would never be in doubt about what Star is feeling (if nothing else than because like Tinker Bell, they're prone to change color like a mood ring 😂) -- but as a central character of a full feature film with a very close (possibly even romantic) bond with our heroine Asha, they would have the chance to express a wider range of feelings than their predecessors...not just through their animation, but also (I would add!) a score that captures their mercurial air and feelings as well as Fantasia blended its art seamlessly with famous classical pieces.
To close us out -- some of the instrumental pieces from previous Disney projects that served as a playlist for my image of Star while working on this! Because for me, music and Disney have always gone hand-in-hand, and honestly, a cohesive and powerful score outside of just the lyrical music numbers always makes a Disney film 150% better...and I think in Wish's case, it would've also been elevated, if its music had come together in conjunction with the instrumentals meant for each scene to create a more cohesive score.
On the Rooftop / What's a Kiss / Perturbed Pixie - Peter Pan Bundle of Joy - Inside Out The Nutcracker Suite - Fantasia To Be Free - Aladdin Magical House Cleaning / Blue or Pink - Sleeping Beauty Under the Stars - The Lion King The Crystal Chamber - Atlantis: The Lost Empire Main Title - Return to Neverland
Have a magical night, everyone! xoxo

thoughts after rereading plague
my favorite gone series feature!!!
caine and sam both bother me badly. they have the same attitude towards diana/astrid. sam punishes astrid even if he never intended to. while caine expects gratitude that he never forced diana?
i said this last time i reread (these were among my first posts on this blog!! before i drifted into other fandoms) but i love the foils here of astrid and diana both breaking down personas they’d held up for years. astrid realizing she cannot always be good and righteous. diana realizing she doesn’t have to resign herself to evil and hurt.
the way other characters talk about dekka is so jarring. i know bigotry would be real and alive among teenagers who have nothing left to lose. but jesus christ???
despite my issues with sam i love his and dekka’s relationship in this book, i love him holding her hands and telling her he loves her and wanting her to be his roommate. he even says that if he is going to die, it would be an honor to die with dekka. arguably sam was allowed by the flawed writing to have a much higher level of respect and understanding for dekka since they cannot be romantically involved, which is a whole issue itself. but i still enjoy it
jack stepping up and becoming much stronger (not physically), braver, and bolder in this book is nice to see
orc just makes me so sad. i’m glad he turned the page after this book because him wanting to die is upsetting
i always found the bugs plot so unbelievable it’s funny. still my favorite book of the series, but it’s comical. how did they get so big so fast. why do they have human like irises. what
diana could not fix caine 😭
brittney/drake still completely fails to move me as an antagonist it is so boring and annoying to me
i like lana and sanjit. it is nice in a simple way that sanjit has nothing to do except be her sunshine male wife
i said this last time (again) but i’m glad dahra was remembered for her importance in this book. she never had as much focus as mary did in books 1-3 despite being just as valuable and selfless and responsible. i love the scene where virtue prays for her and asks god to let her rest because she has done so much for other people, just because she could
the line ‘what did howard have if he didn’t have orc?’ causes me a lot of feelings
dekka’s trauma plus the fact that she literally never gets to experience reciprocated love breaks my heart i want better for her. so much better

REVIEW
Let Me Love You by Brittney Sahin
The Costa Family #1
Excellent introduction to a new series and a joy to become acquainted to with a new author that could easily be one of my go-to reads in the future! I was up till 1:30 this morning finishing it and can’t wait to find another book to read by this author!
What I liked: * The connection and chemistry between Enzo and Maria
* The slow burn after the sizzling first kiss – so much promise
* Maria’s knowing what she wanted and ability to state what she wanted even though it wasn’t necessarily acted on as quickly as it could have been
* Enzo’s inner turmoil that had to be overcome before he and Maria could be together
* The backstories of both families that unfolded over the book’s telling and the impact of “family” on the characters, their relationships, and who they may end up with
* The presence of so many alpha males and their female equivalents that may have already had their stories told or have stories waiting to be told
* The tie-ins between culinary knife skills and other skills knives can be used for
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing - exquisite
* The darkness that was evident at times…the good guy didn’t wear a white hat all the time even though he was a good guy in spite of some things he (and his family) had done
* That it left me guessing and as a person who often reads the end of a book first…that is saying something
* That I came into this series on book one and can follow the series chronologically
* You know what? I loved all of it except…
What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* One or two characters that I will not name because…it could ruin the story for you – that said…was REALLY happy they were made accountable for what they did
Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series/by this author? Definitely!
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
BLURB
Love is a risk for a woman in danger and a mercenary sworn to protect in a blistering novel of vengeance and redemption by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brittney Sahin. Six years ago, Maria Romano got her birthday wish—a kiss from Enzo Costa. A man she could never take her eyes off, but who seemed as haunted as her favorite book boyfriends and strictly off-limits. Just one unforgettable moment in the dark and then he was gone. Now Maria is a divorced single mom, moving on and open to romance again. Fatefully, it’s with the new head chef at her sister’s Enzo. A gentler man than the one she remembers, yet fire still burns. And a warning still don’t get too close. Enzo is embarking on a new life, too. And falling in love with Maria shouldn’t happen. He has far too much blood on his hands, and he carries his damaged past like a shadow. But he can’t ignore the impulses drawing them back together. When his secrets plunge Maria into danger, Enzo must become the man he once was to keep everyone safe. Will he go off the deep end and never find his way back? Or will Maria be enough to save his soul?

Soulja Boy is blasting Tory Lanez and calling out the rap community for not supporting Megan Thee Stallion.
Just a few weeks after Tory was found guilty of shooting the Houston hottie, Soulja Boy has found time to express his opinions on the verdict.
In a recent Instagram Live, the “Crank That” rapper called Tory a “l*me a** n*gga” and a “b*tch” for shooting Megan.
“You want to shoot bitches in the feet n*gga? Yous a p*ssy n*gga,” Soulja said. “And when you get from jail n*gga you know where I’m at. You got a problem n*gga I’ll beat your b*tch a** n*gga. Don’t never rap over none of my beats, don’t never freestyle over none of my beats. You trash n*gga. Your music trash.”
In addition, Soulja further showed his support for Megan and called out the rap industry for not sticking beside her during the trial.
“Y’all n*ggas out here shooting b*tches and ain’t nobody gone say nothing? I’m the only n*gga in the whole rap game that’s gonna say something? Ok, cool,” he added. “Well, Tory Lanez you a b*tch. You a b*tch n*gga on me,” he continued. “Y’all watched this n*gga shoot this b*tch and everybody said, ‘He aint do it.’ Man, f*ck y’all l*me a** n*ggas”
On December 23rd, Tory was found guilty of three counts of shooting Megan in the foot in 2020. The Canadian rapper guilty charges included felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. Tory will be sentenced later this month. He faces deportation and 22 years in prison.

Gone Characters as the Smirkes' 14
("Smirkes 14" are Entities from The Magnus Archives that serve as manifestations of human fears.)
CAINE SOREN -- The Web
The Web represents the fear of being controlled or manipulated. This fits Caine's character for obvious reasons. Throughout the series he struggles with gaining & losing control of himself, his friends, and the FAYZ at large.
SAM TEMPLE -- The Vast
The Vast represents the fear of infinity & endlessness, as well as drowning & falling. This can be representative of the constant pressure Sam faces being expected to lead the FAYZ against forces he can barely understand.
ASTRID ELLISON -- The Eye
The Eye represents the fear of being known--the fear of being watched, of having your secrets found out & brought to light. For Astrid, who spends most of the series attempting to hide her brother's nature (as well as her own) and trying to know all that she can, there is no more fitting an Entity.
DIANA LADRIS -- The Stranger
The Stranger represents the fear of the out of place, the almost known, the not quite right. Diana struggles with identity throughout the series. Even those closes to her barely know her. How could they? She barely knows herself.
DRAKE MERWIN -- The Slaughter
The Slaughter represents the fear of violence, war, & physical pain. Fitting, then, that pain is the one thing Drake fears (other than women) and the one thing he enjoys inflicting above all else.
EDILIO ESCOBAR -- The Buried
The Buried represents the fear of tight spaces & not being able to breathe. Similar to the Vast, it can manifest as an immense pressure against which there is no respite.
GAIAPHAGE -- The Dark
The Dark represents the fear of the unknown. Not just that, but also: the fear of being watched, hunted, of there being something in the dark with you. For most of the series, the Gaiaphage is this all-powerful predator the FAYZians know very little about. They only know it's there. Watching. Hungry in the dark.
QUINN GAITHER -- The Lonely
The Lonely represents the fear of being alone, isolated, and/or forgotten. To me, this is Quinn's biggest fear throughout the series: first he's afraid to be cast aside by Sam, & so later he becomes a pillar of the community to make sure he's never forgotten.
BRITTNEY DONEGAL -- The Corruption
The Corruption represents the fear of bugs, rot, and the "unclean". It often manifests as a parasitic hivemind, drawing in its victims/ followers with promises of all-consuming, unconditional love. To me, this fits Brittney very well--she is first "resurrected", then the Gaiaphage draws her in by masquerading as her little brother, and as time goes on she begins to see how it's destroying her.
LANA ARWEN LAZAR -- The Spiral
The Spiral represents the fear of madness. Lana's entire character arc revolves around her sanity--whether she can trust her own mind, where she ends & the Gaiaphage begins.
CHARLES "ORC" MERRIMAN -- The Flesh
The Flesh represents the fear of being reduced to your body, seen as nothing but flesh to be manipulated and consumed. Orc's arc revolves around dehumanization & body horror from almost the moment he steps onto the page.
ZIL SPERRY -- The Desolation
The Desolation represents the fear of destruction--not just against people (like the Slaughter), but against all you've ever known. It's also connected to fire. Given that Zil's single-minded bigotry resulted in a fire that nearly destroyed Perdido Beach, it's not that much of a stretch to connect him to this Entity.
THE COYOTES -- The Hunt
The Hunt represents the fear of being chased. Throughout the series, the coyotes are a low-level but omnipresent threat. No matter where you are, you can be sure that they're tracking you. Hunting.
PETER "LITTLE PETE" ELLISON -- The End
The End represents the fear of death. Little Pete is the creator of the FAYZ. Everything begins--and ends--with him.
Bonus:
GAIA -- The Extinction
The Extinction represents the fear of the end of humanity as well as catastrophic change. In my opinion, Gaia is a separate character from the Gaiaphage. While the latter is a mysterious, unknown threat, Gaia is more concrete. We know exactly what her goal is: to escape the FAYZ & end all human life.

are there any hypothetical scenes in gone that you wish had happened?
One thing I really thought was going to happen was that drake and brittney were going to be separated in plague?? I can't really remember much about it but I'm pretty sure drake went to the gaiaphage so it could help him and instead it just gave him bugs and off he went.
I would have really liked to see more interactions between dahra and lana especially since I love them both so much and also more of roger since I feel like he was a bit two dimensional.
I'm not sure where these kind of scenes would have fit but I would also have liked to have seen more about the characters lives before the FAYZ

It might be cool to see Astrid and Brittney interacting, given they were both Christian and had a 'fall from grace'. Looking forward to more of your work!
here is the fic, anon! i’m so sorry it took me so long! hope you enjoy!
brittney & astrid oneshot
Emerging was like coming out of a deep, warm sleep—the kind you drifted into on stifling summer nights. Brittney felt consciousness come upon her gradually, her mind fluttering open and shut like a pair of eyes. It was pleasant, the oblivion. She hated to leave it.
But there was work to do.
Brittney first pressed her tongue to her upper teeth, feeling the wires there, tasting the dirt and gravel embedded in them. It was becoming a habit of hers. As she came back to full consciousness, it soon occurred to her that she was in a kitchen, staring at the chandelier swaying above the dinner table. The sound of labored breathing filled the air; Brittney turned towards the source with a sense of resignation and saw it was a girl with pale blonde hair lying underneath the table. Her legs looked broken, her naked back laced with fresh wounds from Drake’s whip.
“Hi, Astrid,” Brittney said sadly.
Astrid didn’t answer. She was struggling to pull herself out from under the table. Brittney walked over and offered her hand. Astrid took it without a word. Brittney helped her out from under the table and guided her to the living room. A dusty armchair became stained with blood once Astrid slumped into it. “Why are you helping me?” she asked, looking up at Brittney through eyes glazed with pain.
Brittney bided her time by tearing off strips of her own moth-eaten shirt, remembering when Edilio taught his soldiers to make tourniquets in the old days of the FAYZ. Before Tanner’s death, before her own, before she knew what God truly was. It made her sad to think about, though she knew it didn’t matter in the long run. It was all the gaiaphage’s dark plan.
“You defeated Nemesis,” Brittney answered finally.
Astrid hissed as she lay a makeshift bandage on one of her wounds. “Don’t,” she said, gritting her teeth. “Don’t do it for that reason.”
“There’s no need to be ashamed,” Brittney continued. “You did what you had to do.”
“No,” Astrid snapped. “The only thing I did right was ensure that Drake didn’t kill him first. That’s all.”
Brittney didn’t press the issue, just continued to tend to the lashes on the other girl’s back. If Astrid was insistent on making herself out to be the villain, that was okay.
“Drake’s a monster,” she said sympathetically. “He’s made you lose a lot of blood.”
“He didn’t kill me. He wanted to. When he comes back…”
“He’ll finish what he started.” Brittney regretted saying the words, but they were true.
“How can you stand it?” Astrid’s words were anguished. “Being merged with him?”
“Because I have to. It’s all in God’s plan.”
“Don’t call her God.”
Brittney shook her head. “Astrid,” she said. “You’re ignoring what’s right in front of you. You’re not seeing the bigger picture.”
“I’m seeing clearer than some people.”
“Your words can’t hurt me,” Brittney mused. “I’m already dead. Things can’t get much worse.”
“Implying you recognize how bad things are in the first place,” Astrid replied, her tone almost wry despite her injured state.
“No,” Brittney said. “Don’t put words in my mouth.”
Astrid raised her head, her hair hanging limp and dark with her own blood. “You have to see,” she said, desperate. “You have to see what she’ll do. Gaia will kill all of humanity if we don’t stop her. She’ll kill you all over again once she gets tired of you. Is that what God would do?”
Brittney shrugged. “I guess so.”
“You can’t believe that!”
“You don’t get to tell me what I believe.”
“You’re a good person, Brittney. That’s why you’re helping me.”
Sadness hung over her like a poised dagger, but Brittney mostly felt tired. Always tired. She missed sleep. She missed Tanner. Again, she felt a secret hope rise in her chest: Maybe after Drake and I complete our mission, she’ll let us rest at last. Both of us. Drake needed to be put down. So did she.
“I like you, Astrid,” Brittney said after a moment. “You were a good Christian—when that mattered.” I always saw you in church, she added silently. I was sitting in the back pews and you were in the front. You wore shoes, I forget what kind, but they made my shoes look like a little kid’s. She’d been too shy to ask what kind of shoes they were and where she’d bought them. Now, who cared about shoes? Brittney looked down at her dirt-encrusted toenails, the sallow, dirty, yellowed skin. She’d never wear shoes to church ever again, never sit with her mother and father and half-listen to the pastor’s sermon while trying to get Tanner to quit fidgeting.
Brittney’s eyes grew wet, but—undeterred—she kept carefully bandaging Astrid’s back, wrapping the ragged strips of fabric tight around her torso. She felt the other girl wince, heard her hiss. With her hands on her spine, she felt Astrid’s ribs expand beneath her pale skin as she breathed heavy, painful breaths. It made Brittney think of dogs panting in the hot sun, eyes dazed and tongues lolling—but slower. Sadder.
Finally, Brittney stood and said, “That’s the best I can do.”
Astrid gently inspected her bandaged ribs and back with her fingers. “What are you going to do now?” she asked, looking up. “Before Drake comes back, I mean.”
“I’ll do what she commands.” Brittney turned and started to walk away, anticipating the look of scorn on the other girl’s face. She didn’t want to see Astrid’s face nor her lacerated back with the blood seeping through her bandages. She wanted to go far away—where, she didn’t know. Somewhere he won’t hurt anyone, she thought.
“Wait,” Astrid called. “Brittney…before you go, I want to ask you something. About God.”
“You should save your breath.”
“What if it was your brother who was Nemesis instead of Little Pete? Would you be able to sacrifice him for Gaia? So she could kill as many people as she wanted without anyone stopping her?”
“My brother’s dead,” Brittney said flatly. “But I’d rather he died for a good cause than for no reason.”
Astrid started to cry, tears running down her cheeks. “Maybe the universe isn’t ruled by my god or yours,” she said. “Maybe there’s no internal order to the universe. Did you ever think of that? Don’t you think that might be a kinder way than saying that this death and destruction is what we’re meant for?”
Brittney paused, then frowned. “I can’t believe that,” she said softly. “God is all-powerful. Look what the gaiaphage did.” She spread her hands. “She made me alive again. If that happened for no reason…if I’m not meant to be the gaiaphage’s servant….” She thought of Drake, of all his insults and cruelty and torture. If no god had orchestrated them being linked together in this awful, sick way—if it was nothing but chaos and coincidence, all of it…. The thought made Brittney’s blood run cold. If there’s no god, she thought, there’s no one to blame.
“I know,” Astrid said suddenly, and Brittney realized she’d been thinking aloud. “I know it’s scary to believe that. I think I’m still going through it. And you’ve been dealt a…a horrible hand—”
“Why?” Brittney snapped. “Why did this happen to me?”
“I don’t know.”
“There has to be a reason!” Brittney balled her fists, pressing her fingernails hard into her palms’ bloodless flesh. She wanted it to hurt, but it didn’t. She felt her nails dig deep grooves into her skin and felt only a dull, numbing pressure. Pressure, but no pain. “Why am I alive? Why am I here?”
Astrid turned her gaze away. No answer. Brittney heard the ticking of the clock in the kitchen; it hasn’t stopped working all this time. She thought of the tall blonde girl in a Sunday dress, hands folded in her lap, sitting in a wooden pew at a church long destroyed.
“Goodbye, Astrid,” she said finally, and left with the sound of the other girl’s ragged breathing echoing in her ears.
