Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker (Night Warning, 1981)
"Why don't you stop tormenting her?"

"Yes."
"Don't."

Tyrrell's crazy aunt on the other hand is#utterly mesmerising; her rapid descent from just oddball into full quivering maniac is a wonder to behold and honestly one of the slasher#performances of all time.

Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)
"Can you believe this? It's Christmas Eve, and we got orders to bring in Santa Claus!"

Redford#Perry Botkin#Whooooo really getting into the festive spirit! I've seen this one before some years ago and it's fine; if anything it's a pretty generic#Slasher that should probably have slipped into obscurity by now. Its saving grace ironically was the hysteria it produced on release;#Despite not being the first (or even second) horror film to feature a killer in a santa outfit this somehow caught the attention of Mary#Whitehouse types in the US. The result was protests; the film being withdrawn from circulation; and most embarrassingly Siskel and Ebert#Giving a sermon on the evils of nasty movies on their TV show. And the result? A film that should probably be a footnote in the slasher#Pantheon got 4 sequels numerous rereleases and all sorts of special editions and whatnots. That's the way it goes sometimes I guess#Oh and don't think for a second I'm not the kind of sucker who doesn't fall for those special editions etc. So it goes.
