I'm sure we all know the post about cleaning with ADHD that suggests "Junebugging", an attitude to cleaning that as long as something is being cleaned, progress is being made, so don't worry if you somehow cleaned the kitchen table instead of the shower?
Anyway, I just junebugged my way into cleaning the outside of the front door.
I put some washing (US:laundry) on, and to help it dry (I usually hang it inside) put my hygrometer outside to see if it was worth opening up. It was only 60% outside, to inside's 70%, so I wandered around opening windows.
Kitchen window had somehow got locked, so I got the Complete house keys, which live on a lanyard, to unlock it. (I have a copy of the door key on my bike key chain, so I don't need the Complete set often)
Lanyard was mouldy somehow, so I hung it on the doorknob to wipe it over with isopropyl alcohol.
After that, the bit of the door that got wiped incidentally was way cleaner, and showing up how dirty the rest of the door was, so I got some wipes out and cleaned that too. For the first time since I lived here, some 5 years now.
After I typed that, I looked up the original post to just double check, and it defined junebugging a little differently to how I had recalled it, but my thinking here was inspired by it.
Anyway, after that, I'd accidentally removed one more wipe from the packet than I needed for the door, and my grubby fingers had got it dirty, so I cleaned the light switches. The one in the kitchen was filthy, I'm not sure it had ever been cleaned, tbh.

I finally got around to scheduling my COVID booster. I very cleverly scheduled it for a Monday afternoon, shortly after my daycentre finishes to save a trip into Town, and before I have a couple of days with nothing on, just in case I have side effects.
Only. I forgot that today is a public holiday, and my day centre is closed, so I don't save a trip into town, and there is in fact a small possibility that the chemist itself won't be open, and the website just let me schedule for this arvo because the public holiday hadn't been programmed in. I did actually mean to ring up and check, but I forgot.
I could have rescheduled for next week, but I've already put it off for months, so I decided to just go anyway

Well, it finally got me. I have COVID.
I'm at camp, and woke up this morning feeling like a truck hit me, and left a buncha sludge in my lungs.
So I left the cabin, and hung out on the verandah until someone in authority woke up so I could ask for a test. Which was positive. Really positive, the line was really clear before it even finished developing.
Currently back on the verandah, waiting for a family member to come retrieve me.
About an hour ago I coughed so hard I puked.

The celeb that made Mel Buttle realise she was gay
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/the-celeb-that-made-mel-buttle-realise-she-was-gay/
The celeb that made Mel Buttle realise she was gay
Tumblr media
Each month we ask Queensland entertainers to spill the tea about themselves, their craft and the local scene. This month it’s national comedy star Mel Buttle who reveals how she got into comedy, who made her realise she was gay and what her first-ever gay bar was.
Mel was born and raised in Brisbane and is a regular on Australian radio and TV. She has appeared in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia, The Great Australian Bake Off and recently co-hosted ABC’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras coverage.
Growing up in Samford, Brisbane was….
Pretty cool, if you liked playing in the creek and setting things on fire, which, surprise I did, very much. I would now kill to live out there on acreage, but as a teenager, I thought it was boring and too far away from my friends who all lived somewhere cool in the inner city. Now, I realise it’s the lesbian dream to live on a big block and grow your own veggies.
I got into comedy because…
I was a high school drama teacher, and I was always into watching the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala and one day I saw a flyer for a short comedy course and gave it a go. Then, I got bitten by the bug and wanted to chase the high of performing all the time. Also, sleeping in was a huge factor in my decision. I’m no good before Dr Phil’s been on.
Being a teacher taught me…
That I’m not all that interesting.
I knew I could make a career out of comedy when…
You think I can? Gosh, I’m still surprised when the phone rings.

The best gig I did was…
In regional NSW. The whole town came, the mayor gave us a tour of the beetroot farm and we had dinner at the RSL. The gig was in the school basketball court and it went off.
The worst audience I had was…
A football club luncheon, I wasn’t experienced enough and should’ve said no.
The most famous person I’ve met is…
Hmm that’s subjective, but Matt Lucas from Little Britain was up there.
My dream gig is…
Breakfast radio and some tele show where I cook food with chefs in my pyjamas.
I knew I was a lesbian when…
I had impure thoughts about Nigella Lawson.
My first gay bar was…
Sporties in The Valley for Karaoke!
My celebrity crush is…
Hayley Raso from the Matildas, she’s a babe.
youtube
Becoming a parent is…
Doing wonders for my ability to multitask, I can now make a curry, play monster trucks and book in swimming lessons.
The inspiration behind my character Lyn is…
Every mum I’ve ever met lives in Lyn.
The joke that got me into the most trouble was…
About my pubes and Julia Gillard.
What people don’t appreciate about Brisbane is…
No one gives a shit about being fancy.
The best thing about doing comedy in regional Australia is…
The pub feeds and the yarns afterwards with the locals, my gosh the best jokes I’ve ever heard that I can’t repeat here.
Mel Buttle is currently on a national comedy tour until August. Follow @melindabuttle on Instagram for details.

Kids can build an epic cement truck and learn about the basic of engineering
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cement Truck:
Get ready for some heavy-duty construction action with the Cement Truck set from the Platinum X Range of sets by Construct It. Any child who loves cool vehicles and building things are going to have an awesome time with this.
Is there a cooler vehicle on a construction site than a cement truck well, little engineers can build their very own one with this set. This cement truck is made using real stainless-steel pieces, and real tools and this one even has moving parts like real gears. This thing is awesome and a great deal of fun. While the Construct It ranges is all about children having a great time, they are also getting a great mental workout too.

HR Licence Brisbane
Obtaining an HR (Heavy Rigid) licence is a process that requires dedication and preparation. It allows you to drive vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of more than 8,000 kg and three or more axles, including trucks and buses, as well as articulated buses. An HR licence is a significant step up from an MR (Medium Rigid) licence and is essential for those who aspire to drive larger commercial vehicles. To obtain an HR licence brisbane, you typically need to have held a Class C licence for a specified period and pass both a knowledge test and a practical driving assessment.

Sept 11, 2022: Sienna to Lusignano: 19.7 km, CUS ~1,000 ft
Meeting People
For dinner last night, just a very small (primi size) bowl of pasta with a 1/2 litre of house red. Kim had the gnocchi sorentina and I indulged myself with the tagliolini with fresh truffles. We actually don’t seem to eat much lunch or dinner on days when we don’t walk the trail. We still pile on the fuel at the hotel breakfast buffet, but if we don’t burn it off, we don’t seem as hungry later in the day.
As we ate, the strong smell of grilled steak seemed to drift up the street. After dinner, we walked a block downhill only to find another Contrada party in the piazza; this time it was the Aquila (Eagles). Everyone was wearing their Contrada scarf, and drinking and partying while two huge charcoal grills cooked up thick slabs of beef. Sadly, once again, we were not invited to join the festivities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out from the Campo at 8 this morning after we each ate a breakfast for two. It was actually a pretty reasonable walking day. While there was a respectable distance and climb (see above) the temperature was mid 20s and the grade was almost always less 5%. In the early morning, we were passed by a very serious looking cycling race. Perhaps 50 riders were being shepherded by at least 5 motorcycles, a dozen support cars, an ambulance and a fire truck. I missed the main pack at the front but got a picture of the smaller second group.
Tumblr media
Halfway through the morning there was a lovely bar for cappuccino (and Fanta). We had quite a long chat with two wonderful young Italian women (Beatrice and Veronica) who were doing a one week walk out of Siena. The conversation was helped by their very good broken English and hindered by our very bad broken Italian. Among others things, we learned that Veronica (on the right) is a structural engineer who is going back to school after 10 years to become a teacher. Apparently, while engineering pays better, it is a hard, boring and much less rewarding job than teaching (yes Jason and Julie hard and boring😂). At the same bar, we ran into a nice group of seven hikers from New Brunswick, who seemed close to our age but were carrying full packs. Had a nice chat with them as well, mostly about walking and the trail. This route seems to be a nice compromise between the Via San Francisco (saw 35 walkers in a month) and the Camino Portuguese (a moving continuous herd for the last 100 km). This makes it possible to meet people and engage with them while still maintaining some semblance of contemplative peace and solitude.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We rolled into our hotel in Lucignano d’Arbia about 2 pm hotly pursued by a surprised older Aussie couple from Brisbane who had already passed us once, 5 km back. We had inadvertently found a shorter alternative route through the little town of Montroni d’Arbia, enticed by a billboard showing a beautiful park with a picturesque old mill and millpond. Sadly, when we arrived, the millpond was a dry mud bog from either the drought (very evident throughout our walk) or an inactive renovation project. Rather than sit there and munch on trail mix and granola bars, we carried on to a Carrefour grocery where we were presented with a choice of 8 different fresh pizzas. You chose how much they sliced off the long narrow pizzas and then paid by the 100 gm. To this we added the obligatory cold beer.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to our hotel, the tiny (250 m across) hamlet of Lucignano, had a castle, an 12th century church of St John the Baptist and a very cuddly cat that followed us on our local tour.
