Includes: D.VA, Mercy, Widowmaker, Mei, Kiriko, Brigitte & Junker Queen

Genre: fluff, some crack

Summary: spend a day at the beach w your favorite overwatch lady

CW: lots of sunscreen, mention of skin cancer (Mercy), some suggestive parts but nothing nsfw, drinking & alcohol, mentions of sharks, Kiriko is a brat (affectionate), rare Mitzi appearance

D.Va:

beach gremlin

she has a giant collection of bathing suits & sunglasses that she never wears from doing brand deals

brings a portable speaker so she can blast her favorite summer tunes (much to the dismay of nearby groups)

you best believe she’s asking you to play mermaids

it is near impossible to get her out of the water or to reapply sunscreen

however PLEASE force her to apply sunscreen or else she’s going to turn into a lobster 

wants to have a contest for EVERYTHING

diving, swimming, sandcastles—everything is a challenge

the kids on the beach love her though & ask for a million pictures

she has a dork ass 2D pool floatie of Tokki that she refuses to swim without

you’ll have to bribe her with ice cream to get her out when it’s time to go

it WILL be a three scoop monstrosity of the weirdest flavour combos—like bubblebum, mint chocolate chip & orange 

she’ll want to have a beach themed movie marathon after but fall asleep twenty minutes into the first movie 

Mercy:

she is the beach volleyball PRO

always says she won’t get sucked into playing but ends up in some tournament (and WINS)

total stickler for sun protection—everyone is reapplying their sunscreen every 90 minutes

“I already put some on, I don’t need it”

“Skin cancer does not care.”

you could swear you’ve heard Baptiste say the same thing…

she’ll apply it for you in all the places you can’t reach though & expects you to do the same 

she has a super cute bikini BUT it’s hidden under board shorts and a rashguard (that she totally pulls off)

packs tons of yummy homemade snacks, sandwiches and enough water bottles for a small family

makes friends with the lifeguards on duty and offers them her water

mostly spends time reading on the towel but if you ask her, she’ll come into the water with you to cool off

longingly sighs and looks at those lounge beach floaties like it’s her long lost lover (please bring one for her next time)

she hates sand getting in her house so you’ll have to shower off as soon as you get back (but don’t worry, she’ll shower with you to make sure you’re extra clean)

Widowmaker:

she’ll only go if it’s a private beach, or somewhere more lowkey

she has a total soft spot for tropical cocktails served in plastic cups with swirly straws

somehow her cup is always full even when you swear it was empty a second ago

she mostly wants to lay on the sand and sunbathe, maybe listen to some music

she’s not brash enough to bring a speaker so she just listens to it with her headphones

only goes in the water to cool off, or if you ask her to

get her a pool floatie with a cupholder and you could keep her in the water all day

she’s the one on the lounge float that Mercy wanted

somehow her hair and makeup look perfect even when she’s been swimming

talks constantly about Ĉote D’Azur and the gorgeous beaches there

if you splash her at all (not recommended) she WILL retaliate to her fullest extent 

she’d never admit it but she secretly has fun playing in the water with you

promises to take you to the French Riviera next time you have a beach day

Mei:

nobody deserves a beach day more than her

she’s dragging you down there as soon as the sun rises and not leaving until way past sunset

has a HUGE pouch of different kinds of reef and eco friendly sunscreens that she forces you to apply

brings a book to read while she lounges in the sand and offers to share it with you if you’re bored

has a cute flamingo floatie with a cupholder so she can just drift along the coastline

brings you one of her spare floaties and ties the two of them together so you can float with her

she swears she left Snowball at home but as soon as her soda runs out he shows up with another one

he actually makes a pretty good waiter

even long after the sun goes down, she wants to float with you and relax

“It’s been so long since I’ve been to the beach…thank you.”

Kiriko:

no matter how many times you ask her or she promises not to

she WILL pretend to be a shark and almost get the beach closed and you guys kicked off

loves playing in the sand with the kids and helps them build a HUGE sandcastle

gives one (1) kid a piggyback ride through the water and has to spend the next hour giving piggyback rides

she has a cute donut floatie that looks like a bite is missing that she sprawls across

forces you to wear a hat in the sun, which ends up being an extra one of hers

so you’re walking around all day with a fox eared baseball cap on

oh and she’s also pounding back mudslides the whole day, so good luck with that

this mf is so lazy that when she wants another drink she just teleports there and scares everybody around to death

“you’re gonna give someone a heart attack doing that”

“good thing I’m a medic then”

you’re all doomed

Brigitte:

INSISTS on bringing Mitzi 

“babe he’s a cat. they don’t like water.”

“yeah but he can just hang out!”

you somehow win the argument by pointing out he doesn’t have swim goggles (however he does have a swimsuit for some reason…)

builds a structurally sound sandcastle that’s over four feet tall with a moat and working sand traps

everyone who walks by is completely awed by her sand guillotine 

accidentally squashes some poor kids sand castle and is DEVASTATED over it

spends an hour with them trying to help them rebuild and buys them ice cream to make up for it

lets you wrap your arms around her neck so she can tow you around through the water

probably makes corny engine noises too

brings sunscreen and a hat but forgets about both of them and burns 

takes you to the shops along the coast and buys you the cutest souvenirs

and of course something for Mitzi

insists on buying the two of you dinner after at some nice restaurant with AC and good seafood

Junkerqueen:

are there even beaches in junkertown/junk city?

crazy good at beach volleyball

hanging out at the beach is not really her thing though—she’d much rather wakeboard or rent a jetski (with your credit card lmfao)

however if that’s not your thing, then she’ll suck it up to spend some time with you

probably swims in her jorts

spends her time swimming laps underwater and trying to scare you by brushing up against your legs

challenges every couple that comes near you guys to a game of chicken

you guys win every single time 

breaks at least 2 sandcastles and doesn’t even notice

brings you food and drinks periodically without you needing to ask

refuses to use sunscreen but somehow doesn’t even burn??

steals borrows someones floatie so she can tow you around on it through the water

“Faster, faster”

“Oh, you’re in for it now”

flips over the floatie with you still on it when she gets bored

but she buys you ice cream to make up for it

widowmaker is not a woman who lets you cuddle her, no matter your reasonings, she cannot protect you if her arms are wrapped around you because she cannot reach for her gun like that, and having a third body like that in bed wouldn’t be comfortable for you. she refuses every single time but she will settle for letting you take her hand, lace your fingers with hers so you would stop demanding. you are happy and she is happy, perfect compromise.

amélie however has a soft spot for holding you in her arms whenever she can, either in the bed or while watching tv and spending time together on the couch. she rarely sleeps on nights like that, she is trying to savor every moment that she can while being her true self. she doesn’t want to waste any minute while she can be with you when she can be outside so she pulls you as close as she can, enjoying the warmth of your skin against her cold body as you peacefully sleep.

most of the times, kiriko probably asks you to cuddle her or cuddles up with you when she is stressed. she likes whatever position, but half-spooning really is the thing that does it for her. kiriko enjoys holding your hand and playing with your fingers while her other hand is looped around you, circling either your back or arm. she can be a sort of menace, putting her cold hands under your shirt, telling you that they are cold and need to be warmed up.

cuddling with hana is both good and bad. when it is a movie night and both of you ought to stay up, actively talk about what is happening and her little outbursts when somebody does something stupid keeps her up. at those times she is a really good cuddling partner, she likes holding onto you in any way she can cuddle up with your arm, or your chest, have you done the same to her or forced you to sit down on the floor, back against the back of the bed so she can loop around your neck and rest her head on your shoulder. but when it’s time to sleep and the two of you cuddle up, then she falls asleep, then she starts flopping around like a fish that ended up on the shore, stripped of water. she moves around, kicks, hogs the blanket, and takes up all the space on the bed! you cannot be mad at her, she is just so cute, but she is annoying.

physical affection doesn’t come to her naturally, she is always willing to comply with your request, experiment if you say that hugs in bed will make you happy. she will be eager to test your hypothesis. she finds it strange as you tighten your arms around her, how your heartbeat starts to fasten a little then calms down when you squeeze her a little stronger. she is just laying there like a dead body, her mind going at a speed of light, thinking of how it could be then her arms just wrap around you, her nails dragging along your skin. she once again picks up on your pulse racing a little before calming down and with all this over analyzing she is missing out the comfort that stirs in her, that her own heart is a little crazy as you lay so close to her.

angela is a hopeless romantic and very affectionate, her love language varies between physical touch and words of affirmation. cuddling with her is like a fever dream, it’s the warmth that we all crave on a winter night. she likes to be face to face with you, brushing your noses together or with either your head in the crook of her head as she listens to how your day was, what you did, and what you plan on doing the next day. she progressively tightens her arms around your body, pulling you closer before sleep takes over her. she can hardly be coerced into taking breaks during the day so you gotta have to do with when she finally decides to come and lay in bed.

brigitte is a really good cuddling partner if not the best. she likes to be the big spoon and honestly who can deny her? but she wouldn’t mind you backpacking her, or would not object to it. she is estimated to be about 6 feet 3 inches tall, you bet she is gonna give the best bear hugs and cuddles. her strong arms looping around your frame, the breath of her sweet words hitting the top of your head before she plants a couple of kisses. there are times that she enjoys having your full body laying on her, literally, you are on top of her! she can’t really explain why it makes her so happy, but the plus weight on top of her is very comfortable for her, like a weighted blanket! it is embarrassing, she handles you like a baby at times like that, calls you one to tease you a little.

she is a bit awkward with it at first, slightly embarrassed to admit how much she needed physical comfort like this. she doesn’t know where to put her hands, where she can hold you and cannot, how to place her head or what would feel right for her so she just leans on you to show her. she really likes it when you cuddle her from behind, or the both of you are on your sides and you cuddle up to her chest. it is hard to believe someone like her would be at a loss of words yet could go on and on about how content she fills when being close to you like this. olivia is very shy to ask for such a simple thing, always needs to start all over again when she tries to ask for it.

oh, how she loves cuddling after a long day between her gang members, having your head lay on top of her chest with her arms around your back, thumb slowly circling little shapes on the fabric of your shirt while she tells you all about what went down before the two of you got into bed for cuddling. elizabeth enjoys the feeling and knowing that she is protecting you as you are in her arms, safe from whatever might come. if you fall asleep she will just stare at you, no matter how her neck might hurt later, silently race her eyes around your face and study all your features. she can get a little cocky, and tell you all about how good it feels for her, the pressure on her tits, ask you if it’s the best pair of pillows you have ever had. of course she won’t tease you for too long if you find it too flustering or is not interested in talking about things like that. if you wanna enjoy the moment then be it, she will too, silently or while listening to you rant about what happened to you.

but on the inside she’s secretly making a big deal of it cause all she really wants is to make you happy and show how much she loves you!!

definitely gets Bob’s help to get everything and set it all up

she’s so nonchalant about it that you’re shocked when she shows up at your place with a bouquet of flowers 

“get your jacket, I got somethin to show you.”

you reluctantly follow her out, pleasantly surprised that she came through for you

she takes you back to her place where her and Bob have practically completely redecorated 

there’s sweet smelling candles lining every flat surface, rose petals across the floor and hearts hanging from the ceiling

waiting for the two of you at the coffee table are dishes of all your favorite snacks

she definitely had Bob make you chocolate covered strawberries 

she feeds them to you too with this cute little blush across her cheeks and nose

also there’s champagne

fruity bubbly pink champagne that she seems to have endless bottles of 

and when you’re all warm and giggly and drunk, cuddled up in her arms, she lets her tough exterior drop

accidentally ignored you because she’s so caught up in her work

she finishes it just in time for Valentine’s Day

you plan on surprising her for Valentines so you’re surprised when she shows up with a little box for you

she’s practically vibrating while she waits for you to open it 

when you do, you see it’s metal figurines of the two of you on your first date 

the sheer amount of detail in it makes you gasp

there’s a plaque on the front that says “The Moment I Knew I Loved You”

you look up at her with big teary eyes and throw your arms around her 

she hugs you super tightly 

“so you like it, right? Cause I was worried it was too much or not enough and I just—I really wanted this to go good for us.”

DVA:

she’s such a dork she probably plans out this whole day for the two of you together 

she’s kinda nervous taking you out in case she gets mobbed by paparazzi 

but she really wants to show you a good time so she sets her fear aside

takes you to the shops downtown to get  cute matching pyjamas for your sleepover tonight 

you guys stop to get hotteoks for a snack too!! 

they’re one of her favorite snacks so you treat her to one 

then you guys head to the grocery store to pick up some snacks and drinks for the night 

queue Hana stocking up on Mountain Dew (but she gets the Spark kind to fit into the Valentine’s Day theme)

you guys get home and build a little pillow and blanket Fort on the floor with all your snacks and stuff

Hana turns on her console and the two of you end up playing games together 

definitely some sort of cutesy two player game where you guys can work as a team 

and even if you make mistakes, Hana just kisses your cheek and carries you through

“so, how was this for Valentine’s Day? Did I win?” 

Kiriko:

she is definitely the type to want to do something for Valentine’s  

but gets so busy with work and crime fighting that she just forgets 

so she plans a date for the two of you at the last minute 

gets you a box of gourmet donuts from her favorite shop and heads over to your house on her bike

she was kinda nervous to ask you to be her Valentine cause she’s never really had one

plus she’s worried what she’s planned won’t be enough

but all of that melts away when she picks you up and sees your smile at the cute little fox donuts she gives you

she doesn’t let on what she has planned, but she has her bike waiting outside with an extra helmet for you

she actually takes you all the way across town to a karaoke/ramen bar!

they’re doing a Valentine’s Special for karaoke where its duets only, and it only takes a second of your girlfriend making puppy dog eyes at you to get you up on the stage

she surprises you by choosing one of your favorite duet songs and having near perfect choreography

her dancing and singing is just so fun and cute that it’s infectious and you start trying to dance with her

even if you stumble a bit she still thinks its adorable

also everyone in the restaurant loves you guys

after that, you guys have a few drinks and some yummy ramen before she surprises you with a promise ring

its just a simple silver band with a blue jewel (like the colour of her fox) engraved into it

“I know it’s not much…but I wanted you to always have a piece of me with you. I have the fox spirit to guide me, so I thought maybe you could have something to guide you.”

Mercy:

she’s a busy, busy woman, but she’ll fight to have time off so she can spend it with you 

very traditional as far as her dates go, but that doesn’t mean boring by any means

she’s super organized too, so she’ll plan everything ahead of time to make sure it all goes off without a hitch

definitely splurges and gets you a box of super yummy Swiss chocolates 

I feel like she would definitely get you some sort of jewellery too, like a necklace with wings or something 

she has a dinner reservation at a super romantic, intimate restaurant 

she leaves you a cute little gift bag on your bed for when you get home, and its just a super nice outfit for you to wear out

you’re super excited for what she has planned, and that only gets better when she comes to pick you up

she’s wearing a silky black slip dress and heals, dressed to the absolute nines

honestly she looks good enough to eat

you guys take a cab to the restaurant so you can thoroughly enjoy it and actually drink

Angela picks out a delicious red wine for the two of you to share over dinner

she definitely holds your hand across the table and runs her thumbs over them

the food is amazing and you guys have just a little too much wine over dinner

Angela holds her alcohol well though and manages to tough it out until you get home 

she wanted to surprise you with gifts, but didn’t want to do it in public so she could actually enjoy your reaction to them

probably the one night of the year she lets herself get a little more kinky in bed too lol

“How was it, darling? I wanted to give you a date you deserve.”

Widowmaker:

she hasn’t celebrated a single Valentine’s Day since before Gerard died 

he was the only person she ever had any desire to celebrate with, and because of what Talon did to her, she never had a chance again

until she meets you of course

she probably doesn’t celebrate it with you until you’ve been together for a while either

but when she’s ready, she wants to go all out 

she makes reservations at the best restaurant in France (and spares no expense)

she picks you up in a limo, the back filled with candy hearts and kisses, with a fridge stocked with rosé and champagne 

she pours you a glass when you get in, her eyes taking you in

“you look stunning, my love.”

by the time you get to the restaurant, you’re a little tipsy and completely flustered

she orders for you, getting you her favorite dish (and it’s quite possibly the most delicious thing you’ve had in your whole life)

she definitely splits dessert with you too

she feeds you little spoonfuls 

takes you back to her place for the night and shows you her favorite movie as a girl
