Actually Unpopular BL Opinions

No, I don't care that it's 2021. Anyway:

The Untamed is not even remotely interesting. Please watch the donghua and the chibi donghua for good adaptations of MDZS (an iconic masterpiece of a novel btw).

2gether is not bad.

Bright and Win have some chemistry.

Bright isn't the worst actor in BL.

Mew and Gulf never had great chemistry, they just had hot scenes and dedication.

Pretty sure I've said this before but Gun Atthaphan is a better actor than Fluke Natouch.

CTY's main couple was better than Trapped's main couple.

Thailand, on average, makes more interesting/entertaining BLs than other countries even if the stories are a trainwreck 40% of the time.

GMMTV makes some of the most entertaining BLs.

As long as it doesn't cross a certain line, gossip about an actor's private life isn't an inherently bad thing. This is one of my weirdest opinions because I think it is abhorrent to stalk celebrities, force narratives down their throats, and otherwise make them feel uncomfortable by begging for fanservice. But general conversation about celebrities dating each other, being involved in major scandals, etc. is just par for the course for being a public figure. People will say it's invasive/disrespectful but literally do it all the time outside of BL (and even within BL) about a number of different topics/scandals. Like with KinnPorsche, people are speculating as to what happened to cause the delays with the filming. That is a form of gossip. Also, I notice that people only have a problem with this when it comes to BL actors but not when it comes to, say, the Kardashians. Why is it okay to make conversation and even jokes about Tristan Thompson being a trash human being and cheating on Khloe Kardashian but not discussing the drama between Zee and Saint's management? Or not noting how certain actors really do give off more-than-friendly vibes? I think a lot of this stems from BL fans not wanting to be placed in the same categories of the crazed stalker fans who try to force their favorite ship to be real. But, honestly, if you're just commenting on something you heard (be it true or not) or even fantasizing about your favorite actor (IN A DEDICATED FANDOM SPACE/NOT WHERE THE ACTOR CAN SEE IT) I don't really see a huge problem with that. It's okay to have opinions on things and make those opinions known. Obviously there's a line between that and, say, harassing Mew and Gulf about the status of their relationship. But any reasonable adult should know where that line is.

That said, there are actors/pairings I think legit hate each other and others who I think have some....let's just say questionable? behaviors.

Racism, xenophobia, and colorism are the 3 biggest problems in Asian BL shows (homophobia is actually really rare in my experience).

University-set BLs are fine. A bit boring/repetitive at times but fine.

If it is normal/natural for 2 people in a relationship to call each other gendered pet names, I don't see a problem with it. As long as an outsider isn't projecting those terms onto them, I don't think it's a huge deal.
